"You're not getting away with this Monarch!" Chat Noir yelled and he chased the villain through the street.

"You are wrong Chat Noir! Today I will finally succeed!" He cheered before laughing maniacally.

"Hurry up Ladybug," Chat Noir thought to himself before rolling his eyes. "I don't know how much more I can of this egotistical grape."

"You should consider yourself lucky Chat Noir," Monarch said as he started to approach his foe. "You'll witness the creation of a new world! And a perfect one at that!"

"A whole new world?" Chat Noir gasped. "The cost of such a wish will be great."

"There is no cost too great!" Monarch barked. "Let me reason with you. Just once?"

"How can you even reason with me?" Chat Noir kept his arm far away from the grape man. But he had to admit to himself, that was there some morbid curiosity to what Monarch was going to pitch to the superhero.

"You must have a family, right Chat Noir?" Monarch began. The cat hero did budge and inch, aside from stepping back. "Well as do I. And let's say your little cataclysm on me has severely limited my time with them. My poor son will be an orphan because of you."

Chat Noir froze. Monarch had son. Was he friends with him during his civilian life as Adrien? Could his son be younger than him? He couldn't imagine what would happen if he lost his father now, what would someone who was only five years old deal with losing his parents. Where would the child even go? There had to be a way to fix it! There just had to be.

"All going according to plan," Monarch thought to himself with a smirk. He composed himself a little before continuing. "Now luckily there is hope for my son. For if you give me your Miraculous, I'll be able to bring my beloved wife back and my dear son will have his mother back and not be alone. And bringing her back would be a nice thing to do, wouldn't a hero like you, say so Chat Noir?"

"How do you know your son would even agree with what your doing?" Chat Noir responded angrily.

"I know he will once he sees the result. But of course that can only happen with your cooperation."

Still the hero didn't so much as glance as his ring.

"Hmm perhaps I have to be more forward. It is very risky but it might work." Monarch started to play with his cane a little. "It would really be a shame if my son were to be alone at his young age."

Bingo. Chat Noir's face softened a little. He was getting somewhere. There was no time to lose.

"Yes at the young at of 14, my dear Adrien..."

"A-adrien." Chat Noir started to walk back.

"Crap I didn't mean to say his name!" Monarch stomped his foot before taking a deep breath in. "Do you perhaps know him?"

"No, no it can't be," Chat thought to himself as Monarch grabbed his arm.

"Too late." Monarch smirked and swiftly removed his ring. He started to laugh but it quickly turned to a gasp. "What i-it can't be?"

"You know who I am don't you Monarch," the now detransformed Chat Noir said staring at the man in front of him. "Or should I say Father."

"Adrien how could you?" Monarch asked in disbelief.

"So you are my father!" Adrien yelled furiously. "I should be the one asking, how could you? How could you do all this?"

"I'm doing this for us. For you!"

"Oh no this isn't good," Plagg whispered making his presence known but the two wielders did not notice nor care to at the moment.

"For me?" Adrien broke free from his father's grasp and took a step back.

"I didn't know you were Chat Noir. We could have worked together and brought your mother..."

"Mom wouldn't want this!" Adrien yelled, tears starting to form in his eyes. Suddenly he froze. "Wait this mean, my cataclysm..."

"Yes it has been slowly killing since."

"I, I didn't mean too!"

"But." Monarch smiled, trying his best to look excited. "We can fix. In fact you can fix it."

"I don't know to reverse a cataclysm. I was never taught, the only thing I know is the Miraculous Ladybug. It could have been fixed if the Lucky Charm wasn't lost that day."

"But by the nature of the wish it can be fixed." Monarch glanced at the ring in his hands. "And we have half of what we need to do that."

"But Mom is dead, someone will have to die in her place."

"That's not my wish." Monarch said quickly, he let out a small gasp. Again he had another risky plan but it could work. It had to work. "Your mother used the peacock Miraculous in her youth. However, the Miraculous had been broken for many years. Do you know what happens when a broken Miraculous is used? Due to the bond between the kwami and wielder the wounds become shared. It slowly did her in. So. I simply wish to use the ultimate power so wish the peacock Miraculous was never broken. So no negative side effects. Thus I will never need to this and your mother will be here with us. Natalie will be okay."

"No, no, this isn't right," Adrien kept trying to back away. "I'm sure there is another way."

"The kwami have told me the there no cure."

"No there is a way..."

"Adrien, my son you must!" Before Monarch could continue he found himself tied up.

"Got ya," the familiar voice of Ladybug said as she made her appearance known, with a smirk on her face. "Apologies for my... Wait Adrien. And Plagg is out. That means."

"I'm sorry My Lady," Adrien said with his down.

"Monarch ambushed him and is trying to get him on his side," Plagg quickly defended his friend.

"Silence!" Monarch ordered but Plagg only responded with blowing a raspberry.

"Also they're father and son." Plagg added as Ladybug gasped.

"And you must be wearing the Miraculous to command its kwami," another voice rang out.

"Oh right as I was saying." Ladybug's grip tightened on her yoyo. Squeezing Monarch tighter. "The reason for my tardiness was I had to meet up with some new friends."

Suddenly, Su-Han made himself known. Standing between Adrien and Monarch. As normal in one hand he clutched his staff and in his other his giant rule book. Behind him, a group of Guardians followed. All clad in similar tops or robes of red with black trim and yellow pants. One of them quickly made their way to Monarch and and swiftly removed the Miraculous from his chest. Adrien took a step back upon seeing his father's face. Sure, Monarch had all but said who he truly was but seeing it was something else. The same Guardian began removing the many rings from Gabriel's finger.

"It appears that these strange rings are altered Miraculous!" She gasped. "Though the Miraculous of the Black Cat is unharmed."

"The Black Cat belongs to this young man." Su-Han said gesturing to Adrien, before turning to him. "Do not worry, you are the rightful wielder of Plagg. There is no need to debate that he must stay with you. We all have our moments of weakness. Especially at your young age."

Adrien silently stretched out his hand and the Black Cat Miraculous was placed into it. Slowly he returned his ring to his finger. Plagg was quickly to return to his true wielders side.

"Don't worry kid," he said softly rubbing his head against Adrien's cheek. "Everything is going to be okay."

"If you do not mind my prodding..." Su-Han started.

"Adrien," Adrien said quietly as he rubbed his finger on Plagg's head.

"Thank you. Adrien." The High Guardian gave the young man a bow. "As I was saying, it appears you know this man, judging by your reaction. Could please share who he is, we do need his identity if we may continue."

"He is my father, Gabriel Agreste." Adrien spoke with such anger, even he was taken aback by it.

"Very well." Su-Han opened his book and pointed to different sections as he spoke. "Gabriel Agreste you are hereby guilty of the crimes of misuse of the Moth Miraculous, mistreatment of kwami, tormenting the city of Paris, and mutilating Miraculous."

"Let me go!" Gabriel barked trying to break free but Marinette, with help of another Guardian kept the grip tight.

"Excuse me Su-Han," Adrien said quietly, approaching him cautiously.

"Hm, what is it Adrien?"

"What's going to happen to my father?"

"That is to be determined. I cannot promise anything."

"I understand."

"Wait, what about him?" Gabriel tried his best to gestured to Adrien. "He struck me with his Cataclysm! That should also count as a crime."

"Out of hundreds of battles, my partner has only struck you!" Ladybug growled. "I already explained the situation to the Guardians and holders have done much worse than accidently strike someone, who if I may remind you took his source of being healed."

"The young Guardian is right," Su-Han looked proudly at Marinette. "Human Cataclysms are risk we take when assigning The Black Cat Miraculous to a wielder. It is a tragedy a young man such as him has to deal with the results. Now we must ack to the business at hand."

"Before we do anything we must locate the other kwami," the guardian with the rings said as she played around with them. "These rings seem to interfere with the kwami summoning."

"I'll never tell you where they are!" Gabriel snickered.

"We don't need to." The guardian who had removed the Miraculous rings held the Butterfly Miraculous in her before placing it on herself. A purple light emitted from it, soon a small purple butterfly like kwami appear. Said kwami looked around confused at the sight before gasping upon seeing his Miraculous on a new wielder.

"So this is Nooroo," Marinette thought to herself.

"Nooroo!" Plagg flew over and hugged his fellow kwami tightly.

"What's going on?" Nooroo said looking around the sights around him.

"This is a lot to take in," the guardian said approaching Nooroo. "But Nooroo can you please lead us to your fellow kwami."

"Yes I can!"

"You might want to transform," Su-Han said and Adrien nodded. Quickly turning back into Chat Noir. The guardian did a chant as a mist surrounded the group.

With Nooroo's guidance the group headed off. Unfortunately, Adrien didn't have to think to hard on where they were going. His home. It was starting to make more and more sense to him. His father's increased absence, focus on work. Heck, even the random trip to London made sense now. Adrien was just a pawn in his father's plan. All for what his mother? Sure Adrien would love to see his mother again. Feel her warm embrace around. Hear her softly saying she loved him. But with the Miraculous wish... No he couldn't do that! Mother wouldn't want that. Someone would have to take her place. He had been viewing Nathalie as a second mother. No, no she couldn't take his mom's place. His mother would be heartbroken, she and Nathalie were very good friends. Mom wouldn't be able to live with herself!

And now even caught he couldn't be bothered to even reflect on how he got there. Only try to deflect blame onto his son. His father did have a point, he did strike a person on accident. Hopefully the Guardians had a cure. They have to have a cure!

"Are you okay?" Adrien turned to look at Ladybug, who was now walking next to him. Her eyes were filled with sorrow and pity. Like she was hurting as much as he was.

"T-this whole time," he began to say, shaking a little. "It's been my own father under that mask. He could have been using this time to be with me his own son. But he wanted my mother back. Then I, I struck him. M-my own father. I'm a horrible son."

"Adrien look at me!" Adrien froze hearing Ladybug say his name. Sure she had plenty time but this time he was behind his mask.

"Adrien please!" This time he did listen. Before he could say anything she grabbed his cheeks in her hands. "What happened in the wax museum couldn't be help. The man who dares call himself your father chose to do so. I know my kitty and he would Cataclysm a person under normal circumstances. I barely had to do any persuading to let my fellow Guardians keep that Miraculous. You are and will always be a good person. Whether in or out of the mask."

"That does help a little." Chat Noir looked up a little. "Um maybe we should catch up with the rest of them."

"I'm staying right next to you," Ladybug announced and she linked arms with Chat Noir with a proud smile as Chat Noir shrug. It could be worse.

"D-do you think this information will be made public?" Chat Noir asked as they started walking again.

"I honestly don't know. I'm sure the Guardians have protocol for that. At the very least the public will know Monarch is defeated."

"Well the truth is there's this girl I'm close too and if this all gets out." Chat Noir shook a little as he tried to keep speaking. "I'll lose all I have with her."

"Aren't you dating Marinette Dupain-Cheng?" Chat Noir gave Marinette a puzzled look. "Your father may have convinced the general public about your relationship with one Kagami Tsuguri but I have had enough interactions with your friends to figure out the truth. And I have had enough interactions with Miss Dupain-Cheng that I have a feeling she wouldn't think any less of you. Besides you shouldn't judge a person on the actions of their parents, if anyone tries anything, they'll have to answer to me!"

"That means a lot to me." Chat Noir said with a smile before thinking to himself. "Even though we're just friends and partners now My Lady still continues to amaze me. I am one lucky kitty to have two amazing girls who care about me. Who ever Ladybug is dating is one lucky guy."

"You know if the information is revealed you could always make a public statement," Ladybug thought aloud after a bit. "Out of the mask of course. I don't know if it could fully convince everyone but it wouldn't hurt. Even could say you're working on one a few hours or so after he is revealed. And don't worry I'll be sure to talk some sense into your friends just to be safe."

"Oh they're the last people I except to turn on my. If anything they'll be my biggest supporters."

Adrien began to think about his friends. He could see different things in his. Such as Kitty Section vouching for him. Alya somehow finding every evidence she can showing him being against Monarch. Maybe she could even find a picture of when he swiped Ladybug's earring right off him. Nino would definitely be on every news site and channel saying everything good about him. Oh and course Marinette. Sure she was a sweet, kind, and loving girl but she had a fire in her. After replaying her telling his father off, he could but also couldn't wait to see what was going to do if the whole thing came. And he had to admit he felt like eventually he would have to tell her the truth about Monarch and his father. Hopefully what Ladybug said was true and Marinette wouldn't think any less of him. Though it would be better if he took a few days to process every before telling. He was sure she would understand.

"It's in here!" Nooroo announced as the group reached the Agreste manor. Adrien gripped Ladybug's arm tighter.

"Do you know where the other kwami are specifically in here?" Su Han asked?

"Of course he keeps his lair in his house." Nooroo paused for a moment. "Though there is one thing you should know."

"And what might that be?"

"While going be Hawkmoth, my former holder has a partner going by Mayura who used the Peacock Miraculous. But it was broken at the time causing her to get very sick from using it multiple times."

"Nathalie's dizzy spells!" Chat Noir shouted suddenly. Remembering what his father had said earlier, As everyone stared at him he shivered a little. "I thought it was an illness of some kind."

"The Miraculous was fixed but Duusu cares deeply for Mayura and the holder before her who passed on due to its effects if there's anyway you can prevent the worse..."

"What is going on here?" Everyone turned around to see Nathalie standing in the doorway of the mansion. She looked around and saw Gabriel tied up and the small purple kwami floating. "Hm I see everything has finally caught to you Gabriel."

"I assume you are the Mayura Nooroo has just mentioned." Su Han stepped forward.

"Yes I am." Nathalie said firmly but with a twinge of annoyance. "I accept my fate. I understood the risk when agreeing to help with this plan."

"We do have bigger things at hand but we can assure you, you will at least live," one of the female Guardians said.

"I can lead you to the lair if you wish," Natalie said firmly but leaning on the wall a little. The Guardians all looked at each other and nodded. "Very well, right this way."

As they walked into the manor, Adrien felt Ladybug grip onto him tighter. But he still braced himself. Anything could be in there. His father remained silent during all this. Part of Adrien wondered if his father was starting to feel guilty? Though knowing his father he was probably more ashamed he got caught. The second one sounded closer to him.

Soon Natalie led everyone into Gabriel's study. She pressed a few buttons and Adrien let out a small gasp seeing the picture of his mother move. Revealing a dark empty hallway. Natalie talked to the Guardians for a bit but Adrien didn't listen only focusing on what could be beyond there.

"You can stay out here if you need too," Ladybug said softly.

"No," Chat Noir responded firmly. "I need to what's in there."

Due to the size of elevator, the group was forced to divided into groups of two. And even then they were squished. Su Han went first with Gabriel in tow. The other Guardians soon started to board until only the two heroes were left.

"I wish you two luck." Both of them looked over to see Natalie looking over somberly. "I know it's out of your hands but I do worry for Adrien. You are indeed a Guardian Ladybug but you are very much still inexperienced compared to them. But if there is any way you could help Adrien please do it. I understand if not as I made this bed I now sleep in but Adrien is still innocent in all this."

All Ladybug and Chat Noir could do is nod as they stepped on the elevator. With all her might, Ladybug braced Chat Noir as they made their ascent. As they rose the area around became cold and dark. Ladybug couldn't help but shiver a little. She looked up at Chat Noir, and from the look at it he was holding back some emotion but it was hard to fully tell. Was it anger over learning the truth? Sadness over realizing what was a betrayal? Or fear over what is going to happen?

When the elevator stopped, Ladybug felt a mix of chill but also awe. There was some eerie about Monarch's lair but also beautifully. It was dark with the only light coming from the giant window upon one of the walls. Slowly walking away from Chat Noir, who still followed her closely she began to approach it.

"Ladybug!" A chorus of voiced rang through the room. Slowly Ladybug turned and gasped in horror. Her beloved kwamii were looking at her but they were trapped in lantern shape containers that were basically cages.

She ran to the torture chamber the kwami we stuck in. Gently placing her hand on one of the chambers. It felt cold and she couldn't feel Xuppu who was reaching to her. Looking around she couldn't see a switch or anything to free the poor thing. She couldn't even tell how the poor thing were being fed, if at all.

"You monster!" Ladybug yelled turning towards Gabriel. "Do you even have a heart? Not only are you putting an entire city in danger, including your only son back for who knows what wish! But you also neglect the only family you have! And cause a poor woman to be paralyzed! How much trauma do you think Adrien can handle? He's your son! He deserves all the love he can get. And this isn't mentioning this torture chamber. Kwamii are living being too but considering how you treat your own flesh and blood I shouldn't be surprised!"

There was something nice about Ladybug telling off his father, to Adrien. It was odd seeing someone tell him off like that but also therapeutic in a way.

"Chat Noir," the young boy turned his attention to the voice calling his name. Turning around he saw Sass from the top left corner of the cage. "Please Chat Noir you must help us. Due to Monarch's demands will cannot moved from the glass."

Sass flew to edge of his container and tried to phase through only for a barrier to stop him.

"What he did to the Miraculous make them only work for him," Wayzz added from one of the lower chambers.

"I don't know how..." Chat Noir stopped as he looked as his ring. "If you use my power you won't get hurt right?"

"Our physical forms are connected to our respective Miraculous," Wayzz assured him. "As long as they are unharmed why will not take damage."

"Alright." Chat Noir took a deep breath in. "Cataclysm!"

Chat Noir slammed his hand onto the out rim of the cage. In an instant black cracks spread around the rings before going inward. Chat Noir held his breath as the rings began to disperse. Soon the cage began to collapse as the blue light on the containers went out and as they feel the kwamii remained floating in place.

"You're okay!" Ladybug cried in relief. The kwami floated towards her in excitement and hugged her tightly. Soon they turned their attention towards Chat Noir and did the same to him. All of them excitedly chanting thanks for him. Chat Noir had to hold back giggles. Their tiny arms kind of tickled him.

"The kwamii truly care for you two." Su Han beamed before turning his attention to his other other Guardians. "And now we have all that we need to proper trial Mr. Gabriel Agreste."

"You have no jurisdiction here!" Gabriel barked finally speaking after a while. "Every if I was exposed there is no precursor of trail with magic involved. It will surely take months if not years for a trial. Might as well give up."

"Silence!" Su Han barked. "We have all right Miraculous related crimes that go against out orders and rules which you have violated many of them. Ladybug this will also double as a test for you in your Guardianship."

"I understand," Ladybug said before turning towards Chat Noir and kwamii. "I know we are happy to be reunited but do you guys mind staying here with Chat Noir he could really use you guys. He's had a rough day."

All the kwamii nodded and somehow hugged Chat Noir tighter. Even still he walked closer to the trial. He honestly did want to see it happen.

"Now," Su Han began as he paced around Gabriel. "The crimes of this man include misuse of the Moth Miraculous, mistreatment of kwami with the possibility of starving them, tormenting the city of Paris, and mutilating Miraculous. It is clear he is guilty of these crimes due to the many months of work from one Ladybug and Chat Noir. So our main duty is to figure our a proper punishment."

"Good luck throwing me in jail. I can afford bail and no one wants to see a public figure like me in jail."

"Unfortunately, he has a point," Ladybug cautiously added. "We can't have him just disappear without anyone noticing he probably has asosioates working with him and can afford good lawyers so hail isn't an option and we can't execute him. His crime are very severe but death doesn't feel right."

"As Guardians we do not kill it is against our ways. But you do have a point we must consider all the options. Perhaps we can make a deal with Mr. Agreste."

"I am not working with you."

"He won't turn in his allies out of spite." Adrien though as he hung his head, a few kwamii gently rubbed the top of it.

"Very well."

"I have actually have an idea if it does work," Ladybug said nervously. "When Master Fu denounced his Guardianship he lost his memories of the Miraculous."

"The Last Resort." Su Han looked at Ladybug proudly. "I am curiously to see what you have in mind."

"Well with everything to consider, is it possible to have Gabriel forget the Miraculous and what they are about. I understand that it is risky as Master Fu forgot most of his life up until that point. But I believe it is a risk worth taking. Monarch will be defeated forever and Adrien will still be okay."

"You bring up a good point. We shall discuss this among us."

The Guardians walked into the huddle and began whispering among themselves. Ladybug kept looking at them as she twiddled her fingers a bit.

"Adrien you can't let them do this me," Adrien to see his father looking at him with pleading eyes. "Think of all that could be lost."

"I'm not losing anything." Adrien said firmly. "I've suffered enough cause of you. The physical scar given to you is a fraction compared to what I've dealt with. Even just today I have to deal with learning my father is the villain I have been fighting against for months. And then even then finding out I struck him with my power, something I have been with by myself for months cause Ladybug is the only one I am able to confide in and we don't see each other much in costume. All I ever wanted to spend time with you. But for almost my whole life you only saw me as apart of your brand. D-did you even want me?"

"We have come to decision," Su Han said firmly. "And we have decided to go with Ladybug's plan. So we shall commence Last Resort immediately."

The Guardians began chanting as Chat Noir looked away. Ladybug walked up to him and held his hand. He could his father protest. Calling out to save him but he didn't budge. He didn't even look at him. A glowing light came from them as the chanting continued. Once it was done, his father was on the floor unconscious. Quickly the kwamii all hid as Chat Noir detransformed again and Plagg was quick to hide in his jacket. He ran and knelt beside his father as he started to wake up.

"Father," Adrien said quietly as Gabriel awoke and sat up. "Are you okay?"

"I am thank you but my head hurts." Gabriel rubbed his forehead gently.

"Must still hurt from the car crash," Adrien quickly said. "That caused your amnesia."

"Oh yes the crash," Adrien let out a sigh of relief as his father believed him. "But I apologize I don't know who you are?"

"What I-I'm your son!" Adrien gasped.

"My son?" Gabriel shook his head a little. "No no, my wife and tried all we could but we never had a son. You must have mistaken for someone else."

"No I am your son, Adrien."

"Adrien is what Emilie wanted to call our son if we ever had one. I am sorry but I do not remember you."

A few weeks later

Adrien sat at the breakfast table with Gabriel and Natalie. The Guardians were able to stop any further damage to her body but she would never walk without help. She had also agreed to assistant the Guardians in tracking down the other members of Gabriel's club for finding Miraculous in exchange for being allowed to care for Adrien. Also monitoring Gabriel so he couldn't rencounter the Miraculous. Ladybug was helping with the case too. It was a little harder since only Gabriel had actually used a Miraculous willingly and most seemed to be public figures such as Tomeo Tsurgi and the mayor himself.

The Guardians, along with Ladybug and Rena Rouge, who Adrien allowed to be informed on the whole situation as Ladybug said she would repay him once this whole settled, were able to create a fake Monarch who was defeated along with a car crash to account for Gabriel losing his memory. The public was happy and hopefully felt safer. Plus he was allowed to keep Plagg. Su Han feared more villains may come now that Monarch is defeated, so he and Ladybug had to ready. But Adrien was happy to keep Plagg around.

As for Adrien, he was learning to adjust to his new life. Natalie and Gorilla both stepped up since Gabriel struggled to remember Adrien at all. Natalie had sat him down and explained how the Peacock Miraculous was responsible for him existing even giving him the ring she worn as a symbol of his freedom. She also assured him he wasn't a monster and still human. Describing the whole thing a magical invitro ferritization. Suddenly everything with his mom made sense.

"I must go I have a meeting to attend too," Gabriel said as he got up and Natalie followed. "Enjoy your breakfast. Adrien."

Adrien smiled a little hearing his name before he too left the dining room and made his way upstairs. He sat down at his desk before hearing a knock at his window. Turning around he saw Ladybug jump in.

"Ladybug is something wrong?" Adrien jumped up and got ready to transform.

"Oh no I just walked to check in with you. But also repay you like I promised."

"You don't need to repay me with anything."

"You have been a loyal partner all this time, it's only fair you know the truth." Adrien gasped as he heard the next words. "Spots off."

"So this is me," the now visible Marinette said with a smile.

Before she could say anything else, Adrien ran and hugged her tightly.

"I'm so glad it was you behind the mask," he said through tears hugging her tightly. He let go and smiled at her. "I needed good new like this."

"I'm here if you need to talk," Marinette said softly.

"That would be nice."

The two walked to Adrien's bed and sat down. Adrien begin spilling all he felt over this past weeks. And it felt good. Like a weight was being lifted off his chest. He had no secrets with the girl we loved. In fact both girls, he deeply loved were one in the same. And he couldn't be happier. His life was truly starting to change for the better. Still he worried about his father. He would never be the same again, and could never remember who he was once was and even who he said he did everything for. Maybe this really was a cost true great.

AN: Hi everyone, so this was theory I had for awhile from when season 4 was ending as Gabriel's defeat. While I don't hate the finale I do wish Gabriel could face some consequences for being Monarch. As this idea never left my mind, I figured I write it as a fic and I hope you'd enjoyed it. I sure enjoyed writing it!
