Episode 11 - The Storm Of Friendship
A boring rescue mission to rescue Metalgreymon.
Sorry for coming off redundant here but, that's all what this episode is about.
Tai: W3ll F! NAIIY G3T A2UM0N BALK ONCE HAND 4 ALL!
Only on a kids's show. You think if Ken was more crazier and insane, he would of ordered Wargreymon far and away from our heroes.
Matt: Tentomon! I need your help.
Tentomon: WHAT!? I was about to get my shell waxed! (actual dialogue)
Matt: ...I need you to find Garurumon!
LMFAO Matt. No comment.
Davis and TK fight. Ugh. The correlation between these two suck. They're arguments were never any fun to watch.
Tai: Let them fight. Me and Matt fought all the time.
Kody: I think the best way to make friends, is with a game of checkers.
Ugh. This dialogue is atrocious.
Everyone finds the Digi-Egg of Friendship.
LIFT TAI LIFT LIFT TAI LIFT (actual dialogue)
Everyone fails at lifting up the Digi-Egg except for Davis.
Flymon attacks our heroes.
Yolei does a totally completely unnecessary pose as she commands Hawkmon to armor digivolve.
The Flymon capture Patamon and bring him to Ken.
Garurumon rescues Patamon and out of Ken's clutches.
Metalgreymon uses the most feeble stomp attack, I've ever seen in my life and Garurumon easily gets out of the way.
Matt: If we don't use our full power, he'll crush us like grapes!
Digmon The Drill Of Power (6)
11 minutes into the episode and Gatomon gets zero dialogue until her digivolution to Nerftimon.
The Digi-Egg of Friendship floats over to Veemon.
Veemon digivolves into Raidramon. He looks pretty snazzy actually.
DIGIMON WE FIGHT TO WIN CHANGE INTO POWER WE GOT THE POWER (the canned song that played in the background)
Agumon is free under Ken's control.
Ken: I can't believe, they were able to defeat one of my dark spirals!
End episode.
Episode 12 - The Good, The Bad And The Digi
Birdramon calls for assistance.
Gatomon: Rome wasn't built in a day, I have to look beautiful.
Kari: Can you help me out with the dishes?
Gatomon: I'm done.
Okay.
There's no real story being told here. I don't think "they" don't even come in, until some time later.
You know who I mean, if you watch the show.
TK is a sound sleeper and Kari wants to sightsee with Gatomon in the city. They don't even go to the Digi-World to help the others.
Davis, Yolei, Kody and Sora meet and greet Starmon at a western parlor, with 60's country music playing in the background.
Starmon captures our heroes, tosses them in the slammer and locks them up for good, with ropes tied up around each of them.
Come to find out - Starmon was under the Digimon emperor's gamut.
Deputymon shows up out of nowhere, and saves our heroes.
Even though they were locked up for maybe 2-3 minutes at most.
I'm getting bored of this episode. zzzzz.
Digmon The Drill Of Power (7)
Starmon is freed from the dark spiral controlling him, our heroes destroy the Control Spire causing this whole disturbance.
Ken doesn't even fight our heroes at all in this episode. Total filler.
End episode.
Episode 13 - His Master's Voice
School.
Patamon and Gatomon linger on in the trees as they witness TK, Kari and Davis be late for class.
Gatomon tells Patamon, that Kari is having - random hallucinations and nightmares for no reason whatsoever.
Gatomon's had enough with inflexing what's about to come and offers to raid the cafeteria with Patamon.
Go for it, you two.
God this episode is hot garbage.
Kari is just whining and whining and whining.
This wouldn't be problematic, if this just didn't come out of nowhere. But it totally did.
There's not even any charm in the stupidity in any of the dialogue here.
Kari is just whining non-stop.
Kari continues to whine and it's the crux of this whole episode. Kari is so high-strung and this came out of nowhere.
Why are they turning Kari into a damsel in a distress?
Kari is sent into an alternative dimension.
TK, Patamon and Gatomon head inside and battle against Seadramon.
Gatomon digivolves into Angewomon and defeats Seadramon.
The four of them head back to the real world.
End episode. This episode made no sense whatsoever.
Episode 14 - The Samurai Of Sincerity
The kids are in the Digital World and order food from a restaurant.
The walking egg that wants the joint, will only accept "Digi-Dollars" as payment.
Yolei proceeds to argue with the manager of the joint.
Kari: At least Yolei is back at being, her blunt, usual self.
How would you know Kari? You were completely strung up in the last episode.
Mimi shows up and helps the group pay up for the food.
We see a few flashbacks to Season 1, to how all of them have come into contact with Digimon, at a much younger age.
Before they ever even met each other.
Good in retrospect but, it's not really that important to call back with for Season 1. More interesting stories could of been used instead.
TK: It's easy to get cranky around you Yolei.
I actually like Yolei's attitude here. The other characters around her, are not any smarter than her.
An underwater Digimon fight. Probably the most engaging fight we had, in the past 7-8 episodes.
Yolei: Do you guys know what my hobby is?
Davis: Boys don't count Yolei.
Ah-
Ken puts a dark spiral around The Digieggmon (he's name is too long for me to bother spelling correctly)
The fact that MIMI of all people - is actually getting the best dialogue so far on this season, should tell you something.
Mimi tries to reason with Digieggmon and have him try to fight off control of the dark spiral, without actually having it off him.
Yolei: Mimi! He's a phony!
Mimi: Try to talk to him!
Yolei is given a new digi-egg out of nowhere.
Glitch as it shows Halsemon's colors (red/pink) instead of Shurimon's colors (green/black) during the digivolution.
Hawkmon becomes Shurimon.
Digieggmon is back to normal and he forgives and makes an apology to Yolei and the others.
End episode.
Episode 15 - Big Trouble In Little Edo
Davis gives Demiveemon a bath. It's cute.
Davis: My girlfriends will think, I stink if I don't clean you!
Sigh.
A reminder that Davis has a sister named June. First time we've seen her in 10 episodes.
Yolei has a brother herself, she detests being around as well. Hmm.
TK: The Digimon Emperor is starting to move on faster!
Uhh...TK you do know that his name is Ken right? Like you haven't already known.
God this dialogue is atrocious.
Even then, I'm surprised Ken has had his identity concealed for this long.
What difference does it make? He'll continue making his warpath in the Digital World anyway.
Anyways? I'm 100% certain this will be nothing more than a filler episode.
Floramon's voices are nails on a chalkboard.
Gatomon uses Cat's Eye Hyptonztion in the fight. (the ONLY time, she's ever used this attack in the entire anime, if I recall.)
The fight isn't going well, as our heroes are outnumbered by Floramon and Mushroommon (I'm serious - those are the real names here.)
A herd of Geckomon have our heroes escape underground and respect everything they're doing, protecting the digital world.
Yolei hates earthquakes.
The Floramon and Mushroom find out about the underground hideout. Oh great.
Veemon, Patamon, Gatomon and Armadillomon get SEPERATE digivolutions. Some things never change.
DIGMON THE DRILL OF POWER (8)
Hawkmon is about to digivolve but, Ninjamon (who comes out of nowhere) wants to fight Shurimon.
Davis calls TK, TI.
The control spire is taken care off and Ninjamon loses the fight with ease.
Wormmon: It looks like the Digi-Desitned have defeated you again master.
Ken: Those half-wits have no idea, what's up next for them. Because I'm too smart for them. They won't see it coming.
End this awful episode.
Episode 16 - 20,000 Digi-Leagues Under The Sea
The team is looking for another new Digi-Egg at an drilling rig.
Wormmon: The kids are looking for a new Digi-Egg! What are you going to do master?
Ken: I don't have time for them! I have a lunch date to attend to.
...? Okay.
Megaseadramon traps them under the drilling rig, they somehow got inside of.
Yolei: J0e iz da o0nlee 1 who kan h3lp uz! Kodu! GET3 HIM!
We waste the reminder of the episode where Kody (using an emergency lifeboat inside the drilling rig - don't ask me, how it has one, only has room for one person.)
And Kody goes in the city to find Joe.
A Yolei x Davis shipping moment.
Kody can't find Joe.
At the same time, the team finds the Digi-Egg in the drilling rig. And of course it belongs to Kody, and he's missing at the moment.
Ikkakumon and Whamon arrive and saves the day from Megaseadramon.
Kody acts like a 5 year old, EYE DNT WANTZ THE D3G3 EGG.
Kody finally picks it up and Armadillomon evolves into Submarimon.
Megaseadramon is easily defeated by Submarimon and Ikkakumon. Woo hoo.
Ken has a "secret plan" End of this tepid episode.
Episode 17 - Ghost Of A Chance
An unseen fight where our heroes win over again Ken, once again isn't shown and everyone wants to celebrate.
Yolei: I want pizza!
Davis: Half anchovies and half mustard! (actual dialogue)
The next few minutes of the episode is nothing but, the characters reminiscing about the past from Season 1.
TK: I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S BEEN 4 YEARS SINCE WE DEFEATED MYOTISMON.
I thought Apocalymon was the real villain of Season 1. Not Myotismon.
Why are we bringing this back up from Episode 1 and not mention Myotismon 16 episodes later?
Tai, Matt, Joe, Sora, Mimi and Izzy all show up to celebrate with them.
Kody: I hope these grass stains come out of my clothes, once this is over.
I-just-why Kody? Just why?
Izzy hasn't even said anything, 5 minutes into the episode and he's just hanging around with them.
Not much plot expedition at all.
Just TK and Matt talking to their dad.
A mysterious ghost figure attacks the TV station.
The city of this season in the real world, takes place in Shibuya.
Izzy: Okay, Davis try to get to the Digi-World from my house.
Davis: Who? Me?
Kari: No, silly. He means the other goggle head in the room (Tai.)
Really bitchy thing to say, Kari. That was not necessary. Horrible dialogue.
Boo.
Kari: If my Mom, knew I was gone at night in the Digi-World, she would call the national guard and the army.
Shut your mouth...please.
Attack at the TV station, even though - we were supposed to pretend that scene didn't exist for 10 minutes for the episode.
Demiveemon, Poromon and Upamon digivolve into Veemon, Hawkmon and Armaidllomon respectively (The only time this happens in the season, I think.)
The ghost reveals himself as Wizardmon.
He conveys a conversation with Gatomon. A callback from Season 1.
And that's the end of the episode. Not even a "monster of the week" attack from Ken at all. Pfft.
Episode 18 - Run Yolei Run
Our heroes go off in groups of 3. (Why? Don't ask me.)
Izzy and Kody spot a hundred or so control spires in a desolate canyon.
DIGIMON THE DRILL OF POWER (9)
Ken: Nice to see you guys.
Kody: IT'S THE DIGIMON EMPEROR.
Just call him Ken. I would.
Digmon gets them out of trouble and everyone heads back to Earth. What was the point of this actual mission? I don't know.
Kari: Do your parents believe you, Davis?
Davis: Of course not. They don't believe anything I say.
plz show some character development for Davis's parents plz
TK's Dad: Don't you kids have homework!?
I...good point.
We see June (Davis's sister) actually talk to Davis for the first time, this whole season.
June has a crush on Matt. Oh geez.
Matt blows off June on a possible date. lol
Yolei and Hawkmon argue as Yolei wants to find Ken's secret base as soon as possible.
Dokugumon (a giant spider) attacks and poisons Hawkmon.
Davis hops into action with Flamedramon and saves them.
Yolei weeps over her despairing friend, being poisoned.
Dokugumon is defeated.
Gatomon heals Hawkmon with herbs and spices.
Our heroes find out that Ken's secret base is hovering/can fly in the sky. The episode concludes.
Episode 19 - An Only Enemy Returns
Kody and Submarimon find an underground cave - that might potentially be a 2nd secret base for Ken - in the water.
Submarimon: That thing makes Texas look like Rhode Island!
Power Rangers: Mystic Force premieres on Jetix in 5 days! (I'm serious, they show it at the bottom of the screen.)
There is a giant whirlpool, that our heroes stumble across and Ken sends his underwater secret base, full throttle into it.
Kody and TK (who uses Pegasusmon) fly into Ken's secret base.
A voice from the whirlpool warns Ken, that he can't control darkness.
Ken feels the need to escape, and sends his underwater secret base back into the sky.
As he makes his getaway, Ken sends out his monster (his secret surprise, basically an agglomeration of past monsters our heroes fought before.)
It's not as cool as I make it sound.
Ken calls it Kimeramon.
Ken: Where's my VCR? I wish I was taping this.
Do you know how much of this terrible episode I have on a VHS tape? 0.
0% I would ever upload a clip of this to YouTube. Sorry no offense.
TK exchanges a fight with Ken, and punches him down to his keester.
TK, Kody and the others (It's an episode about just the two of them, to be honest.) leave and defeat Kimeramon.
End episode.
Davis: Good job, TS.
TK: It's TK...
Episode 20 - The Darkness Before Dawn
I'm really not enjoying this season at all. I'll go at my own leisure with finishing this. (Like 10 episodes per week or so)
I'm only having fun here counting up Digimon's Drill Of Power nonsense. I'm serious.
I'm not even in the mood for this. I won't say anything unless it's actually important to the plot.
Kimeramon is apparently still alive.
Ken's evil laugh is...not good.
Power Rangers:Mystic Force premieres in 4 more days on Jetix! :D
Ken begins hearing voices in his head.
Yolei insults Davis at around the 6 minute mark of the episode. None of them are much smarter than Davis.
Davis: I'll what I can to save Kari.
Kari: What fantasy is that supposed to be?
Ugh.
Ken attacks our heroes with Bakamon.
Halsemon uses "Eagle Eye" as an attack. I think the only time he uses it, maybe? Trust me, these Digimon don't have a variety/arsenal of moves.
Recycled stock animation for the fight against Bakamon. Ugh.
Kimeramon shows up and joins in on the fray. Not as exciting as I make it seem.
Kimeramon quickly makes work of our heroes and turns them back to their In-Training baby Forms. (Demiveemon, Poromon & Upamon)
Ken feels remorse for them as he doesn't want to hurt baby Digimon, even though he's seen them before at soccer games in the past.
Ken orders Kimeramon to stop...Yes. It totally came out the blue for Ken to act like that.
Wormmon leads Davis and Demiveemon to the engine room, in an attempt to free Ken from the control of "darkness"
Nothing else to it, then that.
A power source begins lighting and emitting from the engine room.
Veemon digivolves into Magnamon.
Magnamon: The balance of power has shifted...
And the episode and part two of this fanfiction, leaves off on a serious cliffhanger.
P.S.: In all honestly, this was probably the best episode of the season so far. Although that isn't a high bar to clear at all.
Episode 21 - The Crest Of Kindness
We immediately left off - where Veemon digivolved into Magnamon.
Let's hope Davis isn't a scapegoat here for this big fight.
Magnamon: I look so good!
Okay Steve Blum.
Magamon shines in a golden spectrum of colored lights, digivolving Poromon and Upamon back into Hawkmon and Armadillomon.
Kari: Can someone turn off the highlights?
Shut up Kari.
Magnamon fights Kimeramon (I totally forgot about that thing, honestly)
Armadillomon: We need to capture the Digimon Emperor!
Just...call him Ken.
Davis: You have to stop this Ken! You must have used too much hair spray! (something like that)
Yolei: Yeah! Wrong's with you Ken!?
Kody: Are you Dr. Frankenstein or something!?
TK: These Digimon are alive!
Kari: You ARE a Digi-Destined Ken! You too!
Not the actual dialogue mind you but, close enough.
Oh my god.
Pinch me I'm dreaming. A 4-way digivolution combination of Armadillomon, Hawkmon, Patamon and Gatmon.
DIGMON THE DRILL OF KNOWLEDGE THIS MAKES ME SMARTER (I'm serious) - THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.
Ken's home base goes ablaze and everyone retreats out of there.
Wormmon: Ken, you are worse than the monsters you created!
Wormmon uses what energy, with has has left and gives the rest of his power to Magnamon.
Magnamon destroys Kimeramon.
Kari: YAY! (actual dialogue)
TK: YAY! (actual dialogue)
Not. Not yay. Wormmon is probably dead.
Davis finds a purple tag of some sort in the ground. It's the Crest of Kindness. I'm serious. An actual tag.
Kari: You have been hurting innocent creatures Ken!
blah blah blah
Ken breaks down, sobs and removes his Digimon Emperor clothing.
Wormmon dies in Ken's arms.
Ken has a breakdown that he lost his brother and made himself the Digimon Emperor to escape his feelings.
Ken goes hysterical and runs off.
Everyone heads back to camp and June (Davis's sister) is flirting with Matt.
Ken returns home and back to his actual real-life home.
End episode.
Episode 22 - Davies Cries Wolfmon
Science class
Yolei: I take this turbo hydro something stuff and add it to this beaker, with a few things I put together. I let it simmer a bit, and it's done. (actual dialogue)
Yolei's experiment nearly blows up the science lab.
Basketball in gym class.
Yeah, this episode is total filler.
They go to the Digi-World to restore order - now that Ken is no longer the Digimon Emperor.
Davis calls TK by his actual name correctly for once.
TK: Why did we still have access to the Digital World
OMG A N3W 3EMEMEEENMEEY!1!1!1!1!
Everyone ventures out to different parts of the Digi-World.
Tortomon (basically a yellow turtle) attacks Davis and Veemon.
This chase sequence goes on for 5 minutes (legit) and overstays it's welcome.
I'm surprised Davis didn't cave in and just make Veemon into Raidramon. They's no restrictions to yelling "DIGI ARMOR ENERGIZE!"
Veemon digivolves into Exveemon.
Exveemon: X-VEE PUNCH! (proceeds to use his foot as an attack)
Exeemon wins the fight. End episode.
Episode 23 - Genesis Of Evil
Ken is sleeping for hours in his room.
Ken: I can't get up, until I find my heart in my sleep.
Okay.
Ken's older brother Sam is dead.
It's never clarified how Sam died.
LOTS of recycled footage for this episode.
The original sub likely had tons of cut footage.
Ken finds Leafmon (the baby form of Wormmon)
The two embrace and end episode. Very cute episode.
Episode 24 - If I Had A Tail Hammer
A Scarlet Witch Lady of some sort comes from Ken's computer and spooks him, in his room.
More R&R for the team with the Digimon Emperor being no longer a threat to the Digi-World.
The group cleans up Primary Village.
Veemon fails to digivolve into Exveemon twice. Weird.
Hawkmon: Did you eat some bad chocolate?
Sigh.
Patamon attempts to digivolve into Angemon to no avail.
There's a Control Spire in the distance and the Scarlet Witch Lady in the background, lets out a chuckle.
Kody and Digmon are fixing something near the nursery at Primary Village and Thundermon attacks the two.
Kody doesn't understand as there's no Dark Ring or Spiral around him.
Armadillomon digivolves into Ankylomon.
Digmon's screen time just took a nosedive.
Thundermon attacks Ankylomon.
Ken and Stingmon from nowhere, save them and Thundermon is destroyed.
Ken and Stingmon leave without saying anything.
Our heroes noticed the Control Spire in the distance is now gone.
End episode. That's it. Okay.
Episode 25 - Spirit Needle
Random Boy: Kari is a total babe!
Random Girl: What's with Davis's goggles?
Atrocious dialogue.
After school, Davis tried talking to Ken, in order to make amends with him.
Yolei's not sure to forgive Ken.
Ken and Wormmon are training in the digital world.
Mimi and Palmon are having a random picnic in the digital world.
Palmon eavesdrops on the same scarlet witch, shown in the previous episode.
The Scarlet Witch Lady uses "Spirit Needle" to activate a Control Spire.
Golemon comes out of the Control Spire and ransacks the place.
Golemon doesn't have a Dark Spiral or Dark Ring on him.
Golemon attacks a nearby dam and sends water flowing.
Raidramon: I've already had my bath today! (fruity dialogue)
Mimi insists that they need Ken's help.
Holy crap. Thank you Mimi.
Palmon exclaims to the group that Scarlet Witch Lady - can turn Control Spires into Digimon.
Stingmon shows up and helps.
Yolei is happy to see Ken.
Hawkmon digivolves into Aquilamon.
Aquilamon and Stingmon easily defeat and make mincemeat of Golemon.
The dam is saved and that's the end of the episode.
And with that?
We are officially at the end of Episode 25 and the halfway point of the series.
