Later that day it was getting dark and Tom and Maddie were setting up some sleeping bags in Jojo's bedroom with the Mobians there with Jojo; "Okay everyone; before we go to bed, I think that we had better lay some ground rules. No speaking of this outside the house or to strangers Jojo and you all until said otherwise; can't leave the house. When we get visitors then you all have to hide or pass yourselves off as toys or something." Tom was telling them with Cream and Tails nodding but Sonic raised his eyebrow at this.
"How relaxed are we with these rules? Because I like my runs and there is only so much place to do it in this one house and when you have people over, I am just expected to stay still..." Sonic asked as Tails and Cream laughed as Maddie shook her head and Tom just facepalmed.
"Sonic this is serious; if you go out and do too much running then it could lead to GUN, the police or other authorities leading you back here..." Maddie said as Sonic sighed as he nodded understanding the dilemma there.
Tom and Maddie then tucked Jojo as the Mobians got into their sleeping bags; the parents said their goodnight and then turned the light off as they left. Sonic started to go to sleep but then they heard whimpering from Cream as they all looked at her. "Are you alright; Cream..." Jojo asked worried like the others as Cream looked her way.
"Sorry Jojo but... Missing my Mum and my first night in this unfamiliar place..." Cream admitted with fear as Jojo looked sad along with Tails as SOnic reached out and touched Cream's forehead.
"Don't worry Cream as you have us here with you and how about I go and get you a glass of water..." Sonic offered as he then rushed to the door and then downstairs to go to the kitchen for the glass but then saw Tom and Maddie watching the news in the living room on the TV.
"...Here is the scene outside the bank as masked bandits have broken in, taking hostages while a robbery attempt is in progress... Police are standing by..." Sonic heard a report's voice coming from the TV and ended up going into the living room with a serious face in response.
Tom and Maddie then noticed him as he glanced at the TV and Tom had a sneaking suspicion as to what Sonic was thinking. "Sonic, no... Please go back to bed... It will be taken care off..." Tom spoke but Sonic then just gave them an apologetic look as he then ran through to the front door and rushing past to their groans.
"You know... I always fear about Jojo going through a rebellious teenager phase when she is old enough and it looks like we get a taste of dealing with a rebel teen in our little hedgehog friend..." Maddie said as all this commotion attracted Tails, Cream and Jojo down the stairs.
"Mum, Dad... What happened... Sonic said that he was going to get Cream a glass of water..." Jojo asked as Tom motioned them to the couch.
"Well... Sonic saw that on the news that the bank is being robbed and well... We couldn't stop him from deciding to go there... Say Tails; what exactly is the best way to talk him down from intervening in something like that?" Maddie explained as Tails just shook his head.
"You should just don't even bother... He sees someone in need and that's his mind made up... A bad guy up to no good and he is there; some outcasted geek being picked on..." Tails replied and then put his head down as they noticed that.
"I don't want to pry but it sounds like that last bit was said with experience..." Tom said as Tails sighed with everyone looking at him.
"Growing up an orphan... I was picked on a lot in my village; for my two tails as well as my love of science... I found out about the famous hero Sonic and how he was super fast and it made me think that being weird wasn't something to be ashamed off... One day I got to meet my hero..." Tails started to explain as they frowned at this:
"Cut it out... Please; it took weeks to build that prototype..." 6 year old Tails cried as two brown furred fox bullies in their late teens laughed as they got the Miles Electric out of his reach.
"Does the freak want his little toy back..." mocked one of them but then a blue blur pushed down one of them and the other was stunned and was shocked to see the 12 year old Sonic there glaring at him with his arms folded.
"If you don't want to end up like your friend then give the kid his machine back..." Sonic warned him and the bully then angrily lunged at him but a Spin Dash to the head knocked him out. Tails was stunned to see Sonic but then in awe to see him take care of the bullies without any problem.
Sonic then gave him a smile as he offered Tails a hand to help him up and handed him his machine; "So you built this huh?" Sonic asked as Tails nodded feeling excitedly to see Sonic.
"It's an honor sir and thanks for saving me... I'm Miles Prowler but everyone calls me Tails because... You know..." Tails then replied to him and Sonic then shrugged it off.
"No biggie Tails and say... I was chasing after Robotnik in his latest scheme but my plane kind of crashed... If you can help me fix it up then you can join up with me for this because a brain to counter his could be much help..." Sonic offered as Tails couldn't believe what he had heard.
"...I helped him foil Robotnik's then latest scheme and we ended up becoming best friends ever since..." Tails finished explaining as they took this in.
"Bullies are the worst..." Jojo frowned as Tails nodded at that.
"Poor you and amazed that someone so young could be that good at machines even 2 years back and... How long has Sonic been doing the superhero thing?" Maddie asked as Tom still looked perplexed.
"Plus this might be something stupid to harp on... But on your world with names like 'Cream' or 'Sonic'... You still have names like 'Miles'..." Tom asked as they laughed. "So I guess since he has been doing this for a long time; he could be knowing what he is doing despite admitting to me that he goes in blind most of the time..." Tom then then said shaking his head.
"Sonic always prevails in the end..." Cream then assured him.
Sonic had to run around the streets a few times to end up finding the bank in question with the police force in front of the entrance and then found a back entrance. He got in and found the masked robbers armed with guns overlooking a circle of hostages on their knees while one of them had a redheaded woman go to a main computer.
Sonic glared as he then rushed in and brought one hostage out to the people outside to the hostage's confusion. Sonic then repeated to the others as he then got in to see about his chance to save the redheaded woman. "Boss... The hostages... They teleported or something..." snapped out loud one of the robbers in shock getting the attention of the one with the redheaded woman as well as the redheaded woman as the robbers looked around stunned and shocked.
"Boss... He is right..." the robber at the computer said as they all pointed their weapons around and the woman shook her head.
"Shut up and don't be idiots... Do you want to break my cover after all this time..." the redheaded woman said as Sonic blinked and shooked his head but went as fast as he could getting the redheaded woman and then taking her outside to the police and reporters.
"I spent setting all this up; acting the role as the hostage so that we could rob the billions in these accounts..." snapped the woman but as was overtaken by the shock of the speed finally catching up to her and then realising where she was.
Sonic laughed as he then got in and started circling around the robbers at super speed causing a mini-tornado that knocked them all out unconscious. Deciding that his work was done; he then left to make his way back to the Wachowski house.
Inside a lab in San Francisco; several scientists were putting the glowing purple Chaos Emerald into a containment unit. They started using machines to scan it and then looked at the power levels going up. "The power in this rock... IT'S OVER 9000!" shouted out one of the scientists as they all looked at him.
"What? 9000? That can't be possibly right..." retorted another.
"It we scrapped everything and turned this into an energy company... We could make trillions within a year..." muttered out someone in awe.
"Good thing that we discovered upon this before anyone like the government did..." said another as their boss then entered the lab smirking.
"I have ideas on what to do with this..." he then said smirking.
The next morning they were all at the breakfast table as Tom then put on the newspaper with the headline 'FAST BLUE HEDGEHOG - CRIMEFIGHTER?' "Come on... This is like the worst picture of me ever used in these papers..." Sonic groaned as the blue blur of a frame from the bank's security cameras.
"Well... No one got hurt and I don't think this time this can't lead back to us... I hope but I hope it doesn't become a recurring thing..." Tom then said as they looked at them.
"Looking on social media and definitely some people wondering if the 'Blue Blur' came here in peace..." Maddie then said as Jojo smiled.
"This could be good; Sonic is seen being a hero and people will stop chasing after him..." Jojo then said as her parents sighed at her child like simple minding thinking of how things like these works.
"After Sonic is seen as a hero; they can't really go after him anymore..." Cream said with bright eyes with the Wachowskis sighing some more.
"Sorry to say but... People can be stubborn and I could name some superhero movies we have here on Earth in sequels where the government still chooses to be untrusting and ungrateful... We just have to hope for the best and keep our heads down..." Tom then replied.
"...If I decide to put aside for the moment that under the watch of GUN; this blue hedgehog has survived a great fall when you all were certain that he couldn't but was able to get out and back into San Francisco with no problem... It looks like this creature just wants to be a superhero?" the President asked in a debriefing room in the Pentagon to the assembled officials.
"With all due respect Mr President Sir; we can't let our guard down... This creature is potentially dangerous..." protested the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff with some agreement at this and there was Robotnik to the side in a business suit.
"Forget about potentially... He is dangerous... He just wants us off your guard; I have played his games for years... I know how he thinks..." Robotnik then said as he then walked forward. "Mr President... I am back home and I don't want to see it wrecked the same way that the hedgehog did to the other world..." Robotnik continued on looking serious.
"I will give this a chance and led your expertise to authorise you acting as help towards GUN's operation in San Francisco to take this creature in alive for questioning. Anything goes wrong and know this; I will not just be pulling GUN and ending this whole operation but your heads will be on a silver platter." the President warned Robotnik and the Secretary on Defence.
"I hope you bring your A-game doctor as I am sticking my neck on the line to give you this chance to be brought in." the Secretary warned Robotnik who was nonplussed.
"You need my expertise Mr Secretary; you have no idea the power of which something like Sonic is capable off." Robotnik replied simply as the Secretary was silent.
The Secretary was lost in thought.
In a hallway there were badly wounded GUN soldiers running from a trail of destruction with bodies of their comrades littering the hallways. In vain they were firing down but then a black blur with a red streak was coming their way. They got back up and 2 soldiers found cover as the Commander was on a communication device.
"Reinforcements; I need you to send everyone here and I want them here 10 minutes ago... I don't care if they are in the bathroom or just got a message that..." snapped the Commander as the blur then launched himself at the Commander silencing him permanently.
"I should never have fired..." cried one of the two soldiers as the other then put a hand on his shoudler which was snapped away. "You and the Commander wanted that thing to be an unstoppable killing machine that will leave nothing in it's wake and you certainly got that Butch!" snapped the soldier to the other one.
"we are gonna get through this John..." Butch told him as the blur had gone to a wounded solider on the ground and picked up his rifle.
"Please... Have mercy... I have a family back home including a little girl..." pleaded the soldier but then the sounds of gunshots followed...
The two fox bullies were from the Sonic 2 opening of the Sonic Origins collection and also appeared in flashback in Sonic Prime, plus consider this a loose adaptation of the Hedgehog Day Afternoon story from the Sonic movie 2 Pre-Quill comic. Plus also bare with me for this but on Fimfiction earlier in the year I found and started following this story called The Omnitrix Hero by Banshee531 in where Flash Sentry from Equestria Girls gets the Omnitrix from Ben 10 and goes on adventures similar to Ben in the first cartoon show. Now while the fic uses characters from the franchise; there are quite a few original villains with some taking inspiration from other cartoon series (though admittingly some of them are reworking of villain concepts from the franchise) so inspired by that; I want to try and make an OC bad guy for the next chapter, not super deep but just a little experiment.
