"What happened," She snapped,
Kagome cried "I dont know," What happened is he broke her heart, and she wasn't even trying to give it to him, and she could not take it. "Get Inuyasha, please, please!" She begged. Who else could she ask for?
She wanted to get away from her, away from him.
"The infant will surely die,"
"And I will die if I stay here,"
His mother faltered. She talked big, but she did not wish for this baby to die, not really.
Sesshomaru stood outside the room, anxiety filled him, and now she wanted his half-brother, not him. But that's what he wanted right?
His mother sent for Inuyasha and Kikyo.
Inuyasha came fast. "What happened,"
"Inuyasha, you have to take me back with you,"
He looked back at Kikyo,
"The chances are slim but if your brother is unwilling it is our only option,"
Sesshoamru's mother walked into the room. "I have something that may aid you,"
In her hand was a necklace "It carries what is left of his father's power." She walked up to Kagome "Wait till you can no longer and wear it, break the seal, and let his power feed you, the Miko will know what to do," She eyed Kikyo, who bowed her head in agreement.
His mother ran her hand over Kagome's belly. "The life inside is his bloodline and knowing my mate he would give his life to save it,"
So she was giving up her last trick, her last card to play, her last bit of him for her. It was more than her son was willing to do no matter if his feelings were starting to change for her.
Inuyasha picked her up and walked out. He said nothing to his brother, his brother said nothing to him.
Kikyo bowed to his mother and walked out and stopped "You chose to fight,"
"As you said, I am not a lover,"
She looks up at him "You are a fool,"
"She wishes to leave, I can not stop her,"
She scoffed "Can you not?" He said nothing "I see, then I was wrong,"
She began to walk away "We will do what we can, I will send word soon,"
And they just like that, they left.
Kikyo had to think of something. Inuyasha was the half-brother and half-demon and while they hated to admit it, he was of half-power.
She was bleeding but the baby was still alive but if they didn't do something he would not be for long.
"It was my hope that you two would come together,"
Kagome couldn't look up,
She had them sit across from one another "Join hands,"
Inuyasha put his hands up, Kagome grabbed them.
It didn't bother Kikyo.
"I will ask you to trust in me like you never have before,"
Kagome nodded; she did, she had to; what else did she have?
"Inuyasha, bring up your power slowly but steadily," He did,
"Kagome, think of healing, not purifying; match his power,"
It was a risk they were all willing to take.
"Do not be afraid, you won't hurt me," He told her.
Kagome closed her eyes, and they began.
It wasn't the same type of power, but it was enough. It wasn't the same type of love, but it was love.
Her bleeding stopped, and she could breathe, eat, and move again. They did this once a day for weeks.
Sesshomaru spent most of his time alone, waiting, wondering, hoping. But at times, in the dark, he wondered, though it would hurt her if it wasn't better for it to be lost.
Kikyo sent word when they were sure they could manage it, the baby lived. Kagome's baby was growing.
When he got the letter, he wanted to go, to see her, to see it.
The need was there.
His mother did not press him to be with the other woman, though no one had yet to dismiss her.
His mind was made up; he was going. He wasn't afraid of her or them. It was his right. Granted, he said he didn't care, he did.
He sent Jaken to tell them he was coming.
Inuyasha was mad, cursed. Kikyo said nothing, and Kagome was unsure. Yet it was still his baby; he probably just wanted to make sure they were not lying.
At eighteen weeks, Kagome waited for him to come. Inuyasha kept a watchful eye on her till he felt his bother.
The sun was going down, and Kagome was thankful for the breeze, though she wished for winter.
Sesshomaru walked right up to her, and Kikyo pulled Inuyasha away.
