Thank you Chapter 29 Reviewers
kagomeLove2 – Thank you love. And that is the big question! And I didn't want to. As to your question about the lack of translation…I wanted her words to maintain mysterious….Just the way my mind works.
EbonySapphire – O.O I'm glad you got that all out of your system…You are going to find out a lot in this chapter! More knowledge is about to be dropped on you! Hope you enjoy this chapter.
LilyPot16 – Thank you love! This chapter is super long and should take you some time to read! Enjoy!
Guest 1 – Thank you for not being so 'silent' anymore and for leaving a review! I really do appreciate it. And you read my other stuff! *Blushes* And your update is here and I hope it will keep you warm until next update. Don't worry love, as long as I have a computer…I will write!
DeucesAreWild – Here you go! A super long chapter for you and a special guest appearance!
Blackcrescendo – Thank you, thank you. In my Madea voice. And no General Tamatsu is not mated. Hehehe. I'm looking forward to writing out their journey together…or not.
Lilura Maeva – When you typed "list" I braced myself like "Oh LAWWWDDDD"
1. I know! You pointed out your interest in Iset from the beginning. So hope you enjoyed this little present.
2. Honey, I love a boss entrance and exit. It had to be in here somewhere as well.
3. Also, in Egypt it was common for loyalists/relatives to do everything for their Pharaoh and many times they died along with them of their own free will.
4. And I'm looking forward to writing out their side story. I kinda want to make them have a separate short spinoff of this one.
5. I made it up. Nothing important. Just to add to her mysteriousness.
6. And yes that is the big question.
Guest 2- Thank you so much love for your comment. I really hope this story gets better and better for you.
Rodidor – Yes, Ororo has been away for quite some time. Anything could have happened in her time away as you are about to find out now. Enjoy love!
naes151 – We will see. I def can't wait to write more for Iset and have her discover this new land with fresh eyes.
Danielle596 – Thank you for the correction! And yes you are slowly getting there. Yes, I originally wrote her coming through the floor but you wrote the comment before and I thought about the well. It's already serving a purpose for Kagome…why not make it more capable of doing other things. After all, we have seen that well do some intense nearly impossible stuff.
And this chapter is going to explain a lot! As for food…stuffed olive leafs is amazing that many of my little cousins like. Typically all food is to be eaten by the hand. Maybe your children would like chicken and rice…its served with carrots and potatoes with a thick dark gravy sauce that holds it together and you eat it with your hand or with baladi (home-made flat bread). Unfortunately that's all I can make. Lol And sure we can connect!
GreenEggsN'Ham – Ummm…damn. You are too good! Stop guessing! Damn! Read the story! Lol and yes! I got to update it. I look for all my stories with 3 reviews, favs, or follows and this week someone finally reviewed and requested a chapter for it. So I'll be typing away. And you do what fits you love! I agree tho…Tinder can cause problems. xoxoxo
calhounariel97 – I hope you will. This next chapter might sway you in her favor!

Chapter 30: Bad Weather
Ororo leaned against the ornate walls waiting patiently for Sesshomaru and the others to arrive after securing Inuyasha's territories and surrounding villages. One shoji door leading outside to the gardens was open allowing the humid night air to creep inside and calm her nerves. The moon hung lower in the sky than it had before surrounded by dark thunderous clouds personifying the storm that was about to rain down on Japan come morning. The night sky had begun to slightly lighten indicating that sunrise was coming soon unfortunately. Her priestess's magic was best done at night. She was slightly worried about Iset's arrival. But the timing could not be helped. Iset was following her orders by exterminating every shadow demon that crept upon Inuyasha's territory and freeing those that were already tainted with the dark magic of possession. This had taken much time but was greatly needed as the last thing they needed were innocent civilians to be manipulated and used against them.
She turned her raging ocean blue eyes to one of the most important books of the Egyptian royal families resting open on a small wooden tea table nearby. She walked over to it and lowered herself to the soft cushion at the table's legs. She thumbed the thin pages of the book gently remembering the many times she had used the spells inside. Her fingers gilded along the rough worn edges where the thick gold and black leather binding ran keeping pages that had been created and passed down from many pharaohs for centuries. From papyrus scrolls to the carefully written ledgers bonded with twine and adhesive made from the barley plants. Her fingers traced the books edges. Hieroglyphics were engraved in the gold on the front and back describing a screen of proper ritual settings with Horus, Isis, and a personification of Heka working together using various types of magic and medicine to help the people while reclaiming the throne of Egypt. Ancient power filled her bones that came from the infamous book in her possession again known as the Book of Heka. It was thick and held potions, spells, incantations, stories, rituals, and wisdom of previous Egyptian Pharaohs to help the current crowned Pharaoh in the living realm. The soft light of the moon shined along the papyrus illuminating the words written in black ink on a specific page that held her attention pertaining to possession.
Ororo looked over at Kagome's resting body, relieved to see the young woman sleeping soundly and well. She had moved Kagome to a different room knowing that there would be many visitors to see how she faired against her illness. She did not want the Inu King to feel his personal quarters were being violated but Kagome deserved to be housed as a visiting noble given her familial affiliation and duties fulfilled on behalf of Sesshomaru and of the people. Kagome rested on the lower level in one of the tea rooms of the Royal Wing of the main house that she had turned into a makeshift bedroom. Kagome's spiritual energy was very powerful and it only made sense that her powers would aid her in her spell even in her sleep.
After protecting the village and aiding Priestess Iset in her attacks, Ororo had lightly washed Kagome to get rid of the dirt and sweat from the priestess's frail body and clothed her in one of her soft lavender silk robes. Afterwards, Ororo attended to her own wellbeing. She knew that come the morning sun blood was going to be spilt. She too bathed in her oils and sent for her white night dress to be soaked to be rid of Inuyasha's blood stains that came from the transfer of Kagome's body into her arms. Now she wore a black dress over her body and the Khat Headdress of gold and black resting on her head hiding her snowy tresses inside of it. Jeweled bangles and protective amulets decorated her body and hands as she prepared herself for war. The markings of her birthright were glowing in gold on her brown skin igniting with magic to prepare her body to fight for the glory of Egypt. She laid her warrior's outfit on a chair in Sesshomaru's room ready to be put on for battle.
She turned her attention towards the opposite shoji doors leading to the halls of the building. She could feel several signature auras flair in their approach to the castle. The foundation of the castle shook underneath her feet and the walls quaked. Her eyes looked towards the ceiling watching it tremble; reminded of the vast power that was just unleashed onto the enemy by both Inu Kings. Everyone's battle energy was rampant with the Inu brothers being the most potent followed by their General and the few soldiers and ken that followed. Ororo thought about the image of the great white dog howling under the early rise of the moon ready to sink his teeth in the enemy that acted against his family. Not many kings she knew went into a battle by themselves on behalf of their extended family. What she had seen that night was legendary and should be written in stone along the palace. Never had she seen such a sight before that left her so inspired to do her very best. And the great Inu King wasn't alone in his endeavors. Sesshomaru had many powerful forces standing alongside of him that had come to fight in honor of his name, the priestess, or for the safety and peace of their own lands. Word had passed to many, and she was alerted by Advisor Itoku that many had arrived to make plans of war.
Ororo listened to the sounds of the thunder above while feeling the auras slam onto the earth. It reminded her of her father who had come many times from battle showing his success in bringing the enemy to their knees. She inhaled sharply at Sesshomaru's violent nature that swept over his palace searching for her and harshly swiping against her body. She pushed her aura gently against his slightly reminding him of their injured spiritual guest and the sleeping child upstairs. Ororo felt his aura lighten but it still felt thick and heavy on her skin. She pushed her aura now searching for one that wasn't so blatant. She pushed beyond the wild and free aura of Inuyasha and the calm yet authoritative force of General Kenji. She combed through the many demonic auras until she found one that almost went unnoticed. Now her attention was captivated by the seductive low simmer of her cousin's aura that simply hung back in the shadows behind the power craze going unnoticed by anyone untrained to track her. Iset always worked best in the shadows, doing what needed to be done in the dark and going unnoticed; an excellent ally to have.
Suddenly, both shoji doors slid open and Ororo stood up straight. Within seconds Inuyasha rush into the room with eyes now golden and magenta markings ragged across his sculpted cheeks. His red clothes were filthy, and the scent of blood stained him. Inuyasha fell to his knees at his mate's side looking her over for any signs of pain and discomfort. His nose sniffed along her skin until he found the mating mark he placed on her neck. He licked the mark and sighed in relief to see the pink crescent moon shining brightly on her pale skin. His nose buried into Kagome's fresh scent and his claws ran over his mate to rest across her chest. He looked up at Ororo for confirmation of her health not able to speak words. Ororo slowly walked towards him and gave him a light squeeze on his shoulder. Inuyasha closed his eyes and hummed in acknowledgement. Then he went to kiss his mate's cheek and nuzzle her with his nose. "She is fine, young prince. Just exhausted in her grand efforts to protect what's hers. You should be very proud to have such a strong companion stand at your side in battle and in this life."
The sound of heavy footsteps was approaching in the hall. She waited patiently for the others to arrive. Sesshomaru walked in first followed by General Kenji with stoic gazes. Sesshomaru's heavy demonic aura sank onto her form searching her for injury or signs of distress. In quick strides he stood before her staring at her in her eyes. Her knees nearly buckled from the unexpected onslaught of his aura but she pushed back with a power that brought all attention onto her. His concern was comforting but she felt she should be the one checking on him as he was just in battle with only a handful of his men facing an enemy he knew nothing about. Pride filled her body from the tips of her toes to the roots of her snowy hair. He stood true to his word as demon that fought his own battles. His golden eyes were calm now unlike how they were when he left. The muscles in his jaw were tight and she knew he was far from satisfied despite his indifferent appearance. She trailed him seeing the small specs of blood that dirtied the hem of his clothes. In Egypt, everyone would be sent away leaving her to have the honor of tending to her warhorse which she desperately wanted to do now. She watched his eyes flicker for a second to Kagome in a silent question.
"She is fine. She was targeted with a vile attack that I hope to learn more about with the aid of my own warrior." Ororo muttered looking him over for wear and tear.
Sesshomaru nodded and stepped out of the way to look at the door. General Kenji bowed to her respectively before moving as well to the side. Ororo looked behind him at the person walking through the ornate shoji doors. Ororo backed away from Sesshomaru and grinned with pride seeing one of her dearest from Egypt standing before her dressed in her warrior robes ready to enter battle.
"Great Pharaoh Ororo of Egypt." Iset gasped bending down to one knee and placing her right fist over her heart in respectful greeting.
"High Priestess Iset, the pleasure is mine." Ororo spoke walking briskly to Iset and grasping her by the shoulders with warmth and joy in her eyes. She pulled Iset to her feet and hugged her freely feeling relief and comfort of having something familiar returned back into her life. Iset returned her hug with vigor nearly rocking her to the side. Both women placed their foreheads together and closed their eyes. The transfer of energy and information bounced between them both in soft white and blue visible waves that caught everyone's attention. Seconds passed before their energy died down and the two pulled away from each other. They held each other at arm's length appraising the other in looks and health.
"It has been a long time, dear cousin." Ororo greeted affectionately looking at Iset in her deep green eyes. Their worlds colliding in the ancient language of their mothers that rolled off their tongues.
"Too long." Iset spoke with emotion in her voice. "All of Egypt weeps for your absence. A void has been left that is felt by all that the sun touches. I feel truly honored to be here to serve Egypt's true Pharaoh."
"Iset. Egypt has a pharoah." Ororo brushed Iset's braided bangs back. "And regardless, Egypt will endure and rise as always for Ra holds it in high favor."
"I'm afraid that sentiment is being tested. We have much to speak about regarding Egypt's current state of affairs." Iset spoke with seriousness in her tone and her green eyes slightly darkening. The warrior priestess changed in demeanor right before her eyes.
Ororo's eyes darkened and she looked upon Iset with a cold gaze. "Can Egypt wait at least a few days until this enemy is defeated before I can see to its domestic affairs? Is my sister Asa in danger? I have been trying to reach her for months now."
Iset nodded this time with a warrior's prideful smile. "Your sister will hold. We will speak of her later. Egypt has some hurdles, but she is strong. I've been consulting my charts and the heavens for knowledge and time. You have been given much in your favor. In three days, I see Egypt shrouded in clouds of uncertainty. However, on the fifth day the stars will align, and the red star will be visible indicating Egypt's ascension in power and prestige. Such news is already being celebrated in Egypt but no one knows why. Even your family sits on the throne in wonder. But I believe all of this is possible through your hands."
Sesshomaru watched the strange exchange between the two women that spoke in Egyptian Arabic. The two were very affectionate and showed signs of a culture that greeted each other with warmth of the flesh. Iset was a valuable ally to Ororo. He also learned Iset was her cousin. And he deduced her as someone that lived with the royal family of Ororo's home. Both dressed similarly with Ororo seemingly more clothed than the priestess and that was saying something. Their eyes were rimmed with dark kohl and their hair held the same cotton like texture. Their skin shined softly under the moonlight showing the different darker tones and colors of the various types of bamboo that could be found. Their tones changed speaking lowly passing along information that he knew wasn't just about Japan. An odd energy raked his senses and he found himself looking around the room to see where it was coming from. His golden eyes looked to his side where he saw a large gold book open showing strange words and diagrams that he had never seen before on anomalous paper. His instincts bristled almost offended at the item as it seemed to pulse with a life of its own.
Ororo searched Iset's expression before nodding feeling a pit of dread in the core of her stomach at her words of mystery. She only hoped she could bring such honor to her kingdom. But that would have to be pushed aside as they had a much more pressing matter at hand. "We shall speak in privacy later, Iset. But first, I need your expertise and this land needs our help. A young Queen and great ally of mine has been targeted by a coward that sits on his false throne in the shadows. I need you to search her spirit and ensure she is well and free from illness." She spoke in Japanese for everyone to understand.
Iset nodded and walked over to the young woman's body hurriedly. Inuyasha snarled protectively watching her get closer. After witnessing her power, he wasn't sure how to feel about this new woman. Everything about her was different and he didn't know her. "Mine." He growled showing his fangs in warning to her.
Iset didn't bat an eyelash but moved closer anyway. "You can let me heal her or be the reason she dies. Your call, Prince. I'm sure many wives can be found in this land to replace this one." She responded coldly with her hands hovered over Kagome's body.
Inuyasha snarled loudly at her words finding them crude. Inuyasha's aura struck out at Iset but she did not move nor flinch in pain taking his attack. No one would replace his Kagome and she would die for making such a suggestion. Kagome shifted with a frown on the futon clearly upset. His anger boiled underneath his skin. His hand came up but his brother was there to place his hand on his shoulder. He looked upon his brother who poured his aura over him in understanding of the devastation he felt at seeing his mate in such a state and having to trust in others to heal her when he couldn't. He thought of his options and swallowed his pride for the sake of his mate's health. With great willpower, he sat near the base of Kagome's head and allowed the foreign priestess to look over his mate.
"Thank you for the honor. Now brace yourself." She commanded before she quickly placed her hands over the young miko's body and closed her eyes. Blue light engulfed the miko immediately and Kagome stopped moving. Everyone seemed to hold their breath watching Iset work. Her hands moved slowly from the top of her head to the tips of her toes. Her pink lips moved but no sound came out as she searched her thoroughly. Iset was highly impressed at the woman's power and tenacity. It was angering to see that one so pure would be attacked. Her hands stilled around her stomach and Iset opened her eyes, nodding her head. She looked to Inuyasha with wide green eyes. "She is clean, your majesty. Her womb is protected as well thanks to her ingenuity. The bastard that attacked her and your seed will pay dearly."
"Her womb?" Sesshomaru questioned with a narrow of his eyes.
"Yes." Iset spoke still looking to Inuyasha with confirmation in her eyes. "This young priestess has been seeded successfully and rather recently. The vile being that tried to curse her did not damage her insides nor did it poison your seed."
"What the hell are you saying?" Inuyasha asked shakenly now reaching for his mate's hand. His ears lowered on his head and a red blush tinted his cheeks.
"She could be with child, young Prince. She took well to your seed. She may not be pregnant, but she was seeded successfully within the last day it seems. Her body is doing its best to conceive. You should be proud as you are very potent, and she is a strong vessel. A good sign for the birth of Gods." Iset spoke not realizing that speaking of sex and procreation so openly was not proper in her new environment.
"Lie!?"Inuyasha questioned breathlessly now placing his clawed hand over Kagome's belly wondering if he could sense something.
"I do not lie about such things. It is part of my duty as a high priestess to the royal family to check the Queens of my kingdom for conception especially when an heir is needed to carry the throne. I know what I sense when I feel it. You seeded your mate recently and her body successfully has taken your offerings into her womb. Now, rather or not she will be pregnant remains a mystery. This priestess's body shielded itself against possession and protected your seed from contamination thus continuing the process of gestation. Had the attack been successful it may have costed you the womb of this woman being able to carry any of your children in the future." Iset explained placing her hand on Kagome's belly gently. "Fear not royal family, ultimately she is well. But if it eases your mind, I can check her blood for potency in roughly three weeks from today regarding her fertility and pregnancy. But if you are of Anubis's line then you would know of her pregnancy before even I do. This is a trait most valued in Egypt." She finished looking to her Queen with a smirk and knowing gaze.
Inuyasha simply sat unmoving clearly in shock. His eyes began to bleed red as he was swept deep in thought about the idea that his mate suffered in such a way. Also, that she was possibly pregnant and the focus the assault that attacked their village. His aura flared dangerously about the room. Sesshomaru let out a series of sounds communicating to his brother in their familiar language that Inuyasha now understood that his demonic instincts were stronger and slowly being honed as they should have been. However, it was still difficult navigating new relationships and working on old wounds with his brother. Inuyasha blew exhaustingly and responded in a low tone at something the older brother had said. General Kenji answered in a loud bark that sounded righteous and the women could see that the demons were upset at having a female of their house attacked especially one that could be pupped.
Ororo walked over to her book and retrieved it from the small table. "King Inuyasha, I recommend you take care of yourself. I'm sure your mate will not be happy to find you in such a state when she awakens." She warned gently knowing that she was not required anymore amongst the men. "Come, Iset. We have much to do and many things to speak about. This night is almost at an end." Ororo walked outside to give the family privacy as she knew this was a trying matter for Inuyasha and what he needed was family. Close or not. Also, there was still much to do and talk about with Iset. With a twirl of her dress, Ororo down the steps of the platform with Iset hot on her heels leaving the men behind them.
The two walked out into the guarded hallway where a group of people dressed in fighting garb stood looking battle fatigued and bloody. Miroku walked forward in battered robes with his wife Sango dressed in her warrior's armor, walking at his side with her giant boomerang on her back. Each parent held one twin daughter in their grasp looking at Ororo with questions. The twin little girls held solemn expressions showing more maturity beyond their years as they stayed silent in their parents hold still dressed in their sleeping clothes. Shippo, Kohaku, and Kilala came up beside them as well with worry and concern in their eyes. At seeing her exit from the room, everyone quickly ran up to her asking questions all at once.
Ororo held up her hands and smiled softly to them all. "Lady Kagome is doing well and is resting. She is just exhausted and needs her mate's strength this night." She assured them all and reached out to stroke the cheeks of the two twin girls affectionately. Both girls seemed to be fighting to stay awake. The group's bodies seemed to sink in relief. Ororo saw a soldier and called him to her.
The Inu soldier looked at both women almost blushing at Iset's state of dress behind her. Her legs were bare and her chest was visible except for the black cloth that covered her. Iset was currently running her hands along the frame of the doors marking the entrance of the royal quarters, blessing it against protection. She reached into her pouch at her side and placed a red ruby into the door frame and crossed her chest in prayer. The soldier immediately directed his attention to Ororo awaiting her orders confused with her behavior.
"Please find Lady Miyu and tell her to prepare the house for guests. We need five rooms to be refreshed for extended stay now. She also needs to send for my handmaiden Lady Hiromi and her husband from their home in the city. Tell them to bring their children here for safety. Hiromi is to see to the guests here in his majesty's royal house." Ororo commanded watching him race off to do her bidding. Once he was out of sight, Ororo turned to the group. "Wait here and my beloved Hiromi will take care of you. She is one of the few I trust in this time of strife. Settle your things and I will meet with all of you to discuss everything come morning. Try to get some rest in the meantime as war will be upon us I fear in a matter of hours." She advised. "Where is your sacred elder?"
"Lady Kaede stayed with the villagers. She will not leave her home nor her people. Besides, she said we were needed here with Kagome." Shippo voiced as his nose twitched with frightened wide eyes.
"I will cover her in protection." Iset voiced as her hands moved and eyes glazed over.
Ororo nodded her head in agreement. "Nothing will harm her either. I see the Inu King has left her home guarded with a few men as well. We will fortify the barriers and her home tomorrow."
Sango stepped forward. "Thank you for everything." She directed her thanks to both women.
Ororo bowed politely. "Worry not and rest easy, Warrior. I'll see you soon." Ororo turned away and walking quickly down the hallway and up the stairs to the royal wing of the castle again with Iset behind her.
Iset looked around at the structures and designs in curiosity of the palace she found herself in. She took in stride all the wood and white walls that surrounded her that gave the giant palace an open yet minimal feel to it. She saw some things she recognized from Egypt that were placed about such as the little statues of various gods and goddesses. The castle felt cool inside unlike the sweltering humidity of the palaces and temples of Egypt. But it lacked the grandeur and majestic appeal that her home offered in homage to the gods and forefathers that contributed to its legacy. She continued looking around her while following her Queen. They reached a long hallway with pictures of white dogs and symbols of the moon that rose in the sky engraved in the wood and painted on cloth that hung everywhere. Up ahead, she saw men guarding a door clearly protecting something precious behind it. They walked pass and Ororo stopped at the entrance. She pointed to an open door up ahead directing her attention. She turned to Iset and placed the Book of Heka in her hands.
"Settle yourself and look for the counter spell for possession. My workroom is down the hall to the left. You will also find a copy of the Book of the Dead to use as reference. I will join you shortly." She spoke before moving towards the doors where the guards waited like stone warriors.
Ororo watched the demons move out of the way to allow her entry into the den. She nodded in thanks to them and opened the doors to see Rin still laying sleepily on the futon wrapped in the furs all around her. The dark room practically hid her from view except for the small ray of moonlight that shined in from a small window. She now lay on her back instead of on her stomach. Her hair was wildly spread around her having escaped from its braid. Her chest rose languidly as she slept on in a peaceful rest. Ororo walked in and sat on the floor near Rin's head. She gently rested her hand on the crown of her head and finger combed the child's hair back out of her face. Rin sighed and moved her head to seek the warmth of her hand. This calmed her in an odd way that she had never known.
So much was happening that she needed to make sure Rin was safe and sound. Something protective and primal ran through her that made her put the safety of the child above anything else. She couldn't even rush towards the commotion from earlier when Inuyasha showed up on the castle steps bloody and angered. She remembered the first thing she did was see to Rin's safety. Ororo had heard of Rin's sudden arrival at the castle but many did not know how she came to be so favorited by the demon Lord. The only one that knew was Advisor Itoku who saw to the little girl's education. He had politely declined telling her, saying that the conversation had to be given by his Lord. Since then, Ororo couldn't help but wonder her story. Rin spoke at times with the wisdom that one wouldn't expect to come from a young child her age. She knew that Rin suffered at some point. Many times in her home country, women and children were unfortunate collateral and pawns in disputes that ended in tragedy especially among those in power. How many times had a young pharaoh lost his/her life due to greed and jealousy?
Seeing Rin still asleep unaware of the dangers lurking outside the walls of the palace gave her peace of mind. The little girl somehow became the manifestation of her own hopes and dreams. Rin was able to study and learn among the talented. She was allowed to learn to her heart's desire and was given time to be a child and play among the flowers. She was a beautiful soul and Ororo loved her very much. She hoped Rin would always stay this way and never know of strife and despair. Ororo rubbed her forehead gently and prayed silently over her body asking the Gods for favor and protection of the little one. She desired greatly to just lay down with the little one and follow her lead into sleep. A powerful aura washed over her and she shivered at its presence. She watched Rin sleep silently before the sound of the doors opening behind her could be heard and closed tightly.
"Rin is well?"
Ororo smiled and adjusted the furs over Rin's body before bending and kissing her on her forehead. She stood slowly allowing her black dress to hang around her once more. Her eyes went over to Sesshomaru noticing the tiny blood splatter on his clothes and the tense muscles holding up his frame. Seeing him so battle ready was exciting to say the least. The Egyptian woman inside of her wanted to see to his health but so much was needed to be done that night. She stretched her aura to check thoroughly this time on his health. She walked up to Sesshomaru and nodded reaching up to gently stroke the sensitive magenta markings along the side of his face. "Rin is fine. And everyone is well for tonight. But much needs to be done before the sun comes."
Sesshomaru reached out to rest his hands on her hips before trailing his hands up to her Khat headdress and removed it from her head. He needed to touch her and show her his respect for the help that she gave to his pack. He held the heavy accessory in his hand feeling its weight before dropping it to the wooden floor. Her long hair tumbled down in soft white clouds around her head and shoulders. He lowered his nose into her hair and smelled the calm scent of fresh spring rain and honey. His fingers dived in it watching her blue eyes study him with care and warmth.
Ororo pushed closer into him feeling the warmth of his body against hers. The soft brush of his mokomoko fell against her face. She reached up to feel the coils of strength running through the muscles in his arms. Sesshomaru nipped her on her throat and grazed it with his fangs reminding her of things left unfinished. His aura rushed over her and his earthy scent filled her nose. She swallowed thickly, finding the strength to pull away. Her blue eyes looked up into his gold ones. Ororo reached up and stroked the crescent moon lightly. "Our moment will come." She whispered in the dark.
Sesshomaru grabbed her wrist and brought her hand to his lips. He kissed the inside of her palm while looking at her with fierce deadly golden eyes that left her breathless. "Sooner than you think." He muttered watching her eyes squint in the darkness. "A meeting has been called now in the war room. Your chair should not be empty for this." He spoke before pulling away and flexing his aura to wrap around Rin securely.
Ororo thought of his cryptic message while watching him walk over to Rin. She rushed to the fire pit and lit it to provide some warmth for Rin. Embers grew steadily as she picked at the wood placed there. Sesshomaru pulled off his mokomoko and laid it gently around Rin. Like a moth to a flame, Rin wiggled her body closer to the white fur and buried her fingers in it securely. Ororo was curious now to his wording as she stood to watch his mokomoko curl around Rin's small body protectively. She knew he was asking her to be there in his arrogant way but the tone of his statement and his words captured her interest. She bent down to pick up her headdress and placed it back on her head, securely tucking all her hair in it. Her feet took her to his side and both walked towards the doors to exit. She stopped in midstride and laid her hands on his chest causing him to stop in his steps. "I may be late, but I promise I will be there. Also, we should have our own meeting in private with your brother's clan immediately. Priestess Kagome has saved you all again from peril. She has found that Lord Tanaka is trying to recreate the Shikon Jewel that has rained terror upon you before. He wants this ultimate power you speak of so he is the one causing the demons and humans to fight in hopes of clashing."
Sesshomaru narrowed his gaze in the dark before nodding to her words. Now that he thought back to the battle and the assault against Kagome, it made sense as she had miko powers that rivaled the legendary Midoriko. His mind suddenly thought of all the villages including the miko he had almost killed that attacked them in the forest. All the human villages seemed like random attacks with villages being skipped in between. But, it was not random at all. All those villages had one thing in common. All had priests and priestesses. Also, all those villages were scattered in a circle with Inuyasha's village in the chain.
Sesshomaru ushered her forward with his hand resting on her lower back. He would keep this between them until they could freely talk with his brother and the miko. Ororo walked out of the room with Sesshomaru walking behind her. The guards in the front slid the door shut and watched the pair separate heading to their different destinations. Ororo rushed to her workroom and closed the door behind her. The torches on the fall flickered, lighting up the room. Iset sat on the floor and had already opened both magical books to specific pages. Her hands dug into her own magic satchel as she muttered about ingredients and timetables to herself while shifting to look out of the window at the night sky. Ororo walked to her side and sat down on the floor that had been cleared of everything.
"Bless you for coming to my call." Ororo stated walking towards Iset and sitting down at her side. She reached out to touch Iset's cheek fondly for a moment to communicate her relieved state. She dropped her hand and looked down at some of the things Iset had pulled out.
"I would follow you into the afterlife without question. I saw this moment written in the stars several sun cycles ago. I knew I would be called upon by a higher power so I prepared everything that may be needed. It seems you have been successful at finding Egypt's antagonist. Never would I have thought it would bring you here and so far away." Iset spoke opening the Book of Heka to a specific page while Ororo gathered ingredients that she remembered.
"Unfortunately, whenever I crush one enemy on these lands another grows in its stead." Ororo responded grasping a vile of red powder set on the side. She uncorked it and began pouring the red powder into a wooden bowl and muttering words over it.
Iset bowed in agreement lighting a stick of incense and waved it in the air in a specific shape. "I have seen this. But fear not. I have consulted the stars while on the way to this palace. You are on the right path. Ra will reward your diligence, I'm sure of this Pharaoh. It is unfortunate I cannot say the same about the palace at home."
Ororo had a feeling she knew what she was speaking about. But they did not have time to fight two battles at once. "Summarize briefly what is going on. What has come of Asa?"
Iset stopped her hand from moving to look at her Empress. "I'm afraid misfortune has struck." Iset looked at her hands before looking up seeming uncomfortable. "I wanted to tell you this at a better time…but I fear there isn't." She paused before gaining the courage to look at her cousin in the face. "Your sister had given birth to a boy. But the birth was a…stillborn."
Ororo stopped moving and sat straight. Her hands rolled into fist against her black dress. Her mind couldn't process her words. Her eyes were wide and she turned them to Iset watching the priestess bow her head respectfully in mourning. The heavy loss fell like a brick into her stomach at hearing the news. Sadness swelled inside of her knowing it must have been difficult for her sister and her husband. She wished she was there to give comfort to her sister. She swallowed thickly before looking down at her shaking hands. "Continue."
Iset nodded sitting in high posture with her back straight. "All of Egypt wept for the loss and a proper funeral was held for the babe. As you can imagine both parents were upset and went into despair as this is a most precarious sign for the throne of Egypt. Since, there is no child…you remain the true Pharaoh of Egypt and the people know that you are alive as neither your sister nor her prince Rameses carry the mark of the Pharaoh upon their flesh of the crook and flail. Princess Asa is trying to carry again but we have warned her about putting pressure on her body so soon. I have even advised her to focus on the affairs of Egypt and then…like a gentle breeze…a child will come when its time. But she stresses herself because of the wrath of Rameses. He refuses to touch her. I have watched from the shadows as her husband has taken…dark paths to keep the throne and the people placated. It is in these moments I have discovered horrendous truths and have acted on my own accord." Iset looked down at her hands in respect. "And the next part I will tell you may shock you. I ask that you understand that I did what I thought was best. I only have longevity for Egypt in my heart."
Ororo inhaled deeply and exhaled controlling her anger. It made sense of why her sister stopped writing back to her. She was embarrassed, shamed, and in mourning. She could only imagine how hard it would be to write to your sister…the former Queen of Egypt that you were unable to carry the throne further. She looked at Iset wondering what on earth she could say or have possibly done that would enrage her. "Speak without fear of my wrath."
Iset nodded and looked her in the eyes. She opened her palm and showed the scarab that Ororo had sent to receive information. Ororo's eyes grew big and she looked upon Iset with eyes begging her to speak quickly. "I have questioned the stars and the Gods over and over. I have consulted other priests and priestesses up the Nile River. We all are gravely concerned for Asa and your line. At first we all received constant updates about your life here in this new world and your journey to save Egypt. But after a while, the announcements stopped coming. I hung in the shadows and searched your sister's private chambers to find that she had received many letters from you but that she never responded. She lied to us all stating that you were too far away and busy to receive correspondence. One day, I cast a spell to receive your messages. I intercepted your message the same night I learned that I would be called upon to aid you in the future. Since then, I have been very persistent at protecting your sister and the throne. I fear Rameses grows greedy for the status and power. He seeks comfort in the harem knowing this will distress your sister. His seed has spilt several times in specifically one woman's womb that has been moved to…royal chambers. He sees her all the time and cares nothing for Asa's wellbeing. This of course saddens your sister and puts her in a cycle of hurt and anger. She sits on the throne seeing to the needs of the people but Rameses throws up her miscarriage in front of the court which is a sore subject and tries to raise allies against the throne. Asa is pushed to her limits and I feel has given up. It is in these moments that I defend your sister with fury. I remind him always that he does not have the mark of a Pharaoh and that he married into the royal house. His life means nothing. He…is nothing."
Ororo sat still with a hard gaze on the floor staring out of the window at the sun. "And what did you do that makes you think I will strike you in anger?"
Iset watched Ororo glare at her with intense ocean eyes. She showed no further signs of anger which frightened her. Little did anyone know that when the Queen was calm like this, it meant more danger than if her eyes went opaque as she could strike at any moment. She pushed her shoulders back and inhaled deeply. "As your advisor, I did what I thought was best for Egypt and would bring honor to your name. I lined the courtesan's drink with a potion to make her unfertile as well as served Rameses a drink that will also decrease the potency of his seed for many months so no child will be produced. I instructed the priestesses to continue to do so but to be careful as to not get caught. I even gave him poison from the back of a scorpion to make him sick for a week or two to ensure he stayed away from Asa to give her some relief. Rameses despises me and knows that I have a legitimate claim to the throne as well. All I could do was guard your sister as best as I could and protect the younger blood male cousins. I checked Asa's food and drink for poison always as well as received everything first before her hands touched it to be sure he would not try a coup. Before I was summoned, I sent your sister on a false trip to Thebes to make sure she was surrounded by loyalists and those that would protect her from harm. I tried to buy as much time as possible for Asa to grieve privately and grow to be strong against Rameses. Unless I kill him, there is nothing more to be done. Either you return to take the throne or your sister grows stronger and Ra honors her with the title of Pharaoh himself."
In a flash Ororo pulled her into a hug. Iset sat stiff unmoving. Her eyes looked through the window to make sure not a cloud of rage was in sight. After a few seconds, she relaxed in Ororo's hold listening to her cousin mutter praises and support for what she did. Ororo rocked her in her strong hold. "May the Gods shower you in fortune for the rest of your days in this realm and into the afterlife." Ororo pulled away and looked upon Iset with warm eyes and a strong gaze. "You couldn't have made me prouder. Thank you so much cousin. And as blood, you honor me greatly. This is something I have learned from the Inu King and cherish in this foreign land. I will find a way to praise you properly for your devotion. And for the rest of your days, rest easy knowing that you are highly favored in my eyes."
Iset nodded unsure of what to say. It wasn't common for cousins to be so praised in such a way by royals. This warmed her insides for an odd reason she couldn't quite describe. Suddenly, the doors opened behind them and both women turned to see the black cat enter into the room. It cried and jumped near the open books looking about in urgency reminding them of their current duty. Iset pulled away and bowed humbly to the cat with her forehead touching the floor.
"Let's work quickly. I believe the Goddess is reminding us of limited time." She spoke before reaching for a green scarab and placing it in the red powder. "And how was your journey? I hope it wasn't too tumultuous." The mixture began to create a white smoke that puffed in the air in large clouds.
"This land is so strange and so beautiful. The soil here is rich with nutrients. I have never seen so much green in my life." Iset admitted sitting down on her hind legs on the cushion and placing the incense on a makeshift altar she had created using her Sais. Her eyes skimmed the Book of Heka making sure they both properly followed the texts before looking back at the potion in Ororo's hands. Ororo was a master potion's maker, and it didn't shock her that she was able to make the mixture without looking at the book. "But the journey was well with the speed and grace of the sons of Anubis and their army. I have felt their power and seen their strength. Egypt stands proud to know she is well aligned with such great forces."
"Yes, the magic and power here in this land is different but highly potent and effective. I have seen amazing things that I believe can be put into practice in Egypt." Ororo spoke placing the bowl onto the floor and reaching for the canopic jar that contained the black tentacle that she extracted from Kagome's body earlier.
"If you desire to return after being so favored by the great King of Anubis." Iset spoke with a smirk.
Ororo smiled as well not even going to deny the possible event. She handed Iset the jar gently making sure she held it securely with both hands. Iset prayed and spoke with her eyes now glowing brightly in indigo. Her hand waved over the lid and tapped it three times before taking the lid off. Her tan hands glowed blue as she reached inside and pulled the black cursed tentacle from its confines with a mighty grip. She watched it twist in her grasp and she backed away from the putrid smell it gave off. She leaned away from it but studied its body. "This is a form of Gigas Shadow…This is poisonous with the intent to self-destruct the person it infects. It was supposed to take root into the mind of the priestess and will her to fight until her last breath. Such a vile trick however very familiar indeed."
"Familiar?" Ororo questioned with a raised eyebrow watching the nasty tentacle morph.
Iset handled it as if she was holding a serpent. Her tense fingers ran along side of it watching it twitch and wither in her hands fighting desperately to get away. They watched the body mutate into the little shadow creature with a small black body and sharp claws reaching out to scratch her hands but burning from Iset's powerful hold. "Yes, this feels very familiar but this creature's shape is different unlike anything I have seen. Of course, whoever is doing this is only weakening. This type of magic is traitorous which is why hardly anyone uses it. Spirits and demons do not like to be controlled for too long. They tend to strike back."
Ororo nodded in agreement. It looked like something from this land but the magic behind it was not and more familiar to that of her continent. She watched Iset push it back into the mystical jar and place the lid on tightly. Ororo reached over and picked up the smoldering bowl filled with the red powder mixture she created. "We need to have a meeting with the others and perform this task quickly before the sun rises. As well as I need to begin the prep to raise my army."
"Might I make a suggestion?" Iset asked with a serious gaze. Her hands closed the books and tucked them back safely in Ororo's satchel.
Ororo paused to hear what she had to say. Iset spoke humbly. "On my way here, I noticed that your power protects some of his men and one village from being attacked. However, many men and villages are defenseless against this dark power. As your loyal priestess, I recommend that you consider blessing all of his men and villages that are unprotected against this dark magic first before raising your army. These men need a fighting chance as you know a simple weapon will not kill the Gigas Shadows from the Book of the Dead."
Ororo nodded in agreement. "I will make use of your wisdom, Iset." Both women stood up and walked towards the door. Iset touched the wall muttering a cursed spell to guard the Book of Heka and the Book of the Dead protectively in the room. The black cat walked over to the bag and laid its body down over it protectively. Ororo opened the door and quickly walked out following the pathway that led them down the stairs and out of the royal chambers. Both women conversed speaking of methods to attack and defend until they came towards the meeting halls. Many men roamed the halls bowing to Ororo as she walked by. Iset looked around her at all the men and servants moving about with wonder. Their clothes, looks, movements, and language were all foreign to her. Luckily, her Queen transferred knowledge to her so that she would be of great use but it did nothing for the culture shock she felt at the moment. She looked at their clothes and wondered how they were able to move and fight. So much cloth blocked and concealed them that she thought it may be disguise for their weapons. She noticed many looked at her as well with confusion before looking away after being caught by her bright green eyes as she looked about. Embarrassment, arousal, curiosity, chaos…she knew the looks well having been present when many merchants came to present their offerings to the Pharaoh. They finally reached two double red doors which opened and allowed them entry.
Ororo held her head high and looked about the fully packed room. The room had gone silent upon their arrival and everyone stood up in respect for her station. She walked forward finding her seat at Sesshomaru's right side at the top of the seating aisles and at the head of the room. He sat in his seat regal and tall above everyone. He clothes still had the stains of blood from his enemies. His armor and weapons shined brightly under the fire light of the torches within the big room. All the torches were lit lighting up the room brightly and providing light for the scribes to write the will of the Inu Lord.
She nodded to the many men standing all around the large formal meeting room. Shoguns, village headmen, daimiyos, warriors, clan leaders, advisors, scribes, and the like were all around the room. Those from the Inu Clan were present with a few missing. Formidable men stood in attention dressed ready for battle in metal and chains with strange weapons gleaming attached to their bodies. Inuyasha's clan members sat near the front gazing at her with hard expressions obviously ready to do whatever needed to be done to protect their homes. There were some fresh faces in the room and she was pleasantly surprised to see a few demonesses present serving as representatives to their clans. Many other faces were missing however, and she knew it would take them awhile to reach their lands due to the logistics and the late timing. A few humans were there including Ryo who seemed intrigued at being called upon. His face formed into shock at the sight of the woman scantily dressed behind her walking confidently with a smug expression holding onto a vase.
"I humbly apologize for my tardiness but I have something to send back to this coward that has attacked." Ororo spoke sitting down in her chair followed by everyone else. Iset moved to stand proudly behind Ororo at her right side looking about the room with confidence. Ororo turned her head to Sesshomaru who sat at her side in the center looking upon her stoically, but the curiosity was there lgazing at the bowl she carried filled with red powder and a single green scarab. She could tell by his aura shifting in the room that he was irritated with this bunch. His aura combed over the whole room daring anyone to strike against him or hurt anyone that was claimed under his name. Clearly, he was still angered from Lord Tanaka's offense. She placed the bowl on the table in front of her watching it continue to release white smoke into the air.
"The insect that did that to Lady Kagome, is going to pay dearly." One auburn wolf demoness with pigtails spoke punching her hand with fire in her eyes. The rugged wolf demon at her side nodded in agreement as he flexed his claws. "We will make them pay!"
"Is the priestess's life really worth starting a war over?" One demon called out clearly not aware of all the facts. Suddenly, the room broke out into side conversations about different things everyone could do to bring justice to Kagome's name as well as discuss the concerns they had about the brewing war between humans and demons. Some shouted obscenities at the demon for his callous words.
General Kenji snarled in warning for everyone to focus on the matter at hand. "This Human-Demon War does not exist, yet." He explained. "We have proof that Lord Tanaka of the Southern Lands is behind these petty disputes and attacks, including the one that injured Shikon Jewel Priestess Lady Kagome…a high offense to the White Inu Clan and Western Kingdom." He tossed on the table several patches of the Southern Lord's crests from the fallen soldiers on the table. Some were foolish to think that they would be victorious but they were wrong. "Lord Tanaka along with the other Cardinal Lords were warned previously in a room full of the ruling elite in which many of you were present…to keep their nonsensical battles off of Western Territories. He violated this act with the attack against Lord Inuyasha's village." He spoke loudly for all to hear him in the large room.
"Since when is the half-breed and his mate any concern of ours?" A member from the White Inu Clan spoke out causing a few others to nod in approval.
Sesshomaru snarled loudly along with a few others at the offense. Ororo's eyes began to mist over wanting to kill the demon for the remark as well. No one ever spoke ill of the royal family. In Egypt it would have cost the demon his life and his body would have been dragged through the city. His remains would have been left for the birds. She opened her mouth to speak but suddenly the doors flew open.
"That half-breed has more power and royal blood in his veins than anyone can possibly imagine." Spoke Lady Inu-Kimi as she walked gracefully into the room in a pile of blue and white silks. Her silver hair was wrapped intricately in several buns on her head with jewels dripping from pins and combs. The room immediately stood for her as well as she came further in the room walking towards her son. Her eyes were sharp and her demeanor was hostile as she eyed the member of the Inu Clan with disdain. "Also, LORD Inuyasha is your superior and you will do well to remember your place as I…Honorable Mother of the Western Lands take your comment in great offense to one of my late husband's house as well as to my own." She moved to stand on Sesshomaru's left side with a lethal smirk. Her claws gripped his shoulder tightly and she smiled watching everyone sit down again. Her eyes went to her son and then to Ororo. She bowed her head gently to the Egyptian Queen and Ororo responded in kind shocking the room into a deafening silence. "It is so good to see everyone especially you, Advisor Itoku. My late mate would be proud to see you continuing to serve so loyally to his sons."
Advisor Itoku bowed his head to her in respect. "You are a vision as always, Lady Inu-Kimi." He stroked his white beard and spoke defensively at the foolish people that thought to think such foolishness. "I do recall that the grand priestess and the young prince put their life on the line to help save us all from the vile demon Naraku. And it is especially the priestess's great sacrifice that allows you to sit here and live today."
"A simple priestess and a half-breed. Nothing more." One of the shoguns voiced as he crossed his arms over his chest.
Iset narrowed her eyes at the demon that spoke so poorly of the priestess as if being a priestess was nothing revered. Also, the 'half-breed' term was highly offensive to her as there were many in Egypt that have done great achievements for their people and served in their army. "Ignorance is a sin that will lead you to a quick, bitter, and painful downfall." She spoke wisely catching everyone's attention.
"I like this one. Who is this?" Lady Inu-Kimi asked eyeing the woman with intrigue as she looked to Ororo for information.
Ororo smiled and waved her hand for Iset to present herself. "Please, introduce yourself." She spoke smugly.
Iset smiled and walked forward to the wooden table in front of Ororo and Sesshomaru. She placed the canopic jar on the table next to the red powder. She vanished in a puff of blue smoke from her position. Right before everyone's eyes she appeared in the center of the room scaring those in the front. "I am High Priestess Iset from the Temple of Nut in the infinite unyielding land of Egypt and stand on the Pharaoh's Council." She introduced looking at them all with a smirk before vanishing again and reappearing next to the jar on the table. She tapped her hand on the edge of the lid of the jar. Her hands erupted into a blue light and she opened the jar. Quickly she reached her hand inside and grabbed the black shadow creature with her hand. With force she pulled it out and held it out in front of her for them all to see. "This is the weapon your enemy uses to enrapture and destroy you."
Gasps and growls were heard around the room and many demons balked ready to defend themselves from the sickening beast that wiggled in her grasp. Its claws scratched at her hands and it moved sporadically all around looking for a host to infect. Iset held onto it and walked down to the middle of the room this time allowing everyone to get a good look at the disgusting creature. "Look at it and know your enemy. This creature possesses the body of any host that has been selected to be infected or has even the tiniest of darkness in their hearts. It is attracted to the hate and anger one holds. It can also take this form to make physical attacks and draw blood. The more darkness and hatred you have, the easier it is to get inside of you and use you for its master's will." Her words came out heavy with her accent. "And soon for its own will because it never stays true to its Master."
She walked around the room watching it react to certain people in various ways. Some it wanted to escape from and others it clawed at her hands to dive into their bodies. "Only those with spiritual powers can detect and kill this enemy." She spoke smugly to the demon that spoke the question regarding the injured priestess. She watched him stare at the creature with distain in his gold eyes. She walked in front of him watching the creature really move to free itself so it could possess his body. "It would do you all some good to have a little bit of respect for everything in this life. Or risk dying because you lacked the common sense to have it at all." She muttered to the man walking along the inner rim of the room to show the others.
"This shadow demon..Gigas Shadow, takes seconds to infect the host and can only be repelled with holy power or an amulet blessed by powerful spiritual energy." She moved to stand in front of Miroku. "Pray priest for protection." She commanded.
Miroku looked to his wife who opened her mouth to say something. He placed a gentle hand on her leg to calm her, making her quickly silence herself out of respect for his wishes. Miroku's heart beat in his chest remembering what the little creatures were capable of. He moved his hands in a Buddhist praying position and closed his eyes. The sound of something hissing and squealing immediately responded before he could get comfortable. He opened his eyes to see the little creature fighting to get away from his spiritual energy. He flexed his reiki experimentally to scrape it. The little creature really began kicking and pulling causing the woman to hold it with both hands this time.
Iset nodded and moved away watching the little creature toss its lower body. "If you possess this kind of energy and protection, you can fight against this creature that mimics your kind." She moved to stand in front of General Kenji who seemed more intrigued with her movements than the beast she was holding. She looked upon him taking in his light almost golden brown eyes. His hair was that of black and white in split tones. He shared a similar scent to the dogs in the room and he held the royal crest on his shoulder. She hailed from the Temple of Nut, very far from the reaches of Anubis. But clearly, the God had many sons with Goddess Anput and that they all thrived in a foreign land ruled by the crescent moon of Nut. 'Is this irony or a sign?' She thought.
Kenji looked at her as she eyed him with kohl rimmed bright green eyes. Her serpentine movements were hypnotizing, and her hips seemed to roll in a way he had never seen on another demoness or human. Her skin shined brilliantly like tiny crystals from some oil that lavished her body. She smelled full of magic and peppermint that tingled his nose. The black creature in her hand pushed to get away from him with its clawed hands and hind legs. Sensual power rolled off of her in waves that nearly had him tilting forward. The two locked eyes for a moment before she looked away at the others. He blinked to see a few others lean unabashedly forward towards her as well. He looked about nothing the gazes and hearing the words spill forth in whispers around the room. His eyes flickered from his Lord to the the priestess seemingly putting on a show.
"Kill the host who controls these monsters and then you will be free of this burden." She recommended turning around to look at her Empress.
Iset walked back to the table and Ororo stood up to hold the bowl with the red powder and a green emerald in the middle. She spoke in Arabic while holding onto the flailing beast tightly. Iset placed the demon inside the vase once again.
Ororo nodded and motioned at the mixture. "Now you know what your enemy is using. Iset will work with General Kenji to ensure all of your men, including yourself are protected against this magic. Now let's send this false King back a message." Iset snatched back her hand just as Ororo poured the red mixture on top of the shadow demon inside the vase. The green scarab dropped inside heavily making a loud noise. The white smoke switched to black smoke and began rising rapidly into the air in a giant haze.
Iset's eyes began to glow a bright blue and her lips moved speaking foreign words that had everyone captivated. A few seconds later, all of the black smoke sunk back into the jar. She immediately closed it and ran her hands along the sides of the jar before opening the lid again. She stuck her hand inside and this time pulled out a beetle that moved colored in green, red, and black colors. Its wings fluttered and its body hissed in her hands. "Since he has struck an innocent of this house, it is only fair we do the same." Iset offered holding the beetle in the palm of her hands and began walking towards the doors.
Lady Inu-Kimi smirked liking the plan Queen Ororo and Priestess Iset put together. She raised her hand and motioned towards her body. "If I may?"
Priestess Iset walked towards Lady Inu-Kimi and bowed humbly to one knee holding out the colored scarab. Lady Inu-Kimi pulled out her Meido Stone and touched it to the scarab watching it red before calming to it luminescent soft glow. She pulled it back and Iset rose to her feet. "So that I may monitor and see our enemy's response. We will also know if he is working with aid from any other Cardinal Lord or lesser rulers." She explained with a smirk.
Ororo nodded to Inu-Kimi for her excellent contribution. "Not only will this spell attack, it will also leave a black trail to the host that has sent this curse upon your lands. We can find him and strike him down along with everything else that stands in allegiance with this vile coward."
On their own, the doors opened wide causing everyone out in the hallway to stop walking and talking to look at what was going on. Iset held out the beetle in her hands. "Find the closest being the one that spawned this curse holds dearly. Strike with the illness he thought he could bestow onto this house. I release his curse ten-fold onto his home. Ashe." She muttered and kissed its back before tossing it in the air. It flew in a gust of green smoke and out of the castle. Mutterings and words of wonder were heard around the room. Scribes began writing furiously on the parchment, recording the events at the meeting. Iset turned around and bowed lightly to Ororo. "I will begin to do your bidding, great Pharaoh and Kings. I request his Lord's General's presence to begin my work before night ends as my power works best in the night. I also need to work with all of your spiritual leaders to make protection amulets for everyone in need." She explained.
Ororo looked to Inuyasha's group and nodded before signaling for her scribe Ryo to follow. They all raised and moved towards the double doors to exit. She then turned to Sesshomaru watching as he stood abruptly. He regarded his General and nodded in agreement to the priestess's wishes. Ororo watched with a smirk and a knowing gaze as the powerful General stood and went to the door following after Iset with all the control he could muster. But she knew he was intrigued to say the least. She would need to have a few words with Iset about seducing these men and engaging in carnal affairs in this country. She looked to her side to see Sesshomaru's hand out for her to take. She placed her hand in his and followed him curiously to the double doors.
"When the last man is ready, we will fight. Stand with me, or move aside, or die." Sesshomaru spoke using very few words as always to make his commands and desires clear as crystal. He had become tired of the discussion and only held it for due process so all would be aware of his violent rage. "Itoku." He spoke informally watching the elderly demon rise from his seat. "My men are already being prepared for battle. See that letters are written by my scribes to be sent to every village and clan on my lands to warn them of the upcoming battle. And mother…" He turned slightly to regard his mother who took out her fan and waited patiently for him to speak.
A smirk played on Inu-Kimi's pink painted lips at seeing how possessive he was of the foreign woman at his side. Her fan hid her smirk well behind its folds. She couldn't be happier to see such a strong match. But she would have her fun and reap as much benefits from this as possible after things had settled as she was sure everything would work out. After all, she birthed the Killing Perfection. Of course, he would be victorious. "Yes, son?"
"Continue." Without a backwards glance he walked forward with Ororo at his side out of the door. Ororo turned around not wanting to leave his mother to do the job alone.
Inu-Kimi moved to sit in Sesshomaru's chair comfortably. Once again, she scoffed in her seat at being left to deal with the fall-out of her son's vicious attitude and sinister death threats to the people around him. Even now his aura left a hostile sensation that had many afraid to move in their seats. "Arrogant Brat." She muttered underneath her breath watching the doors close behind him yet again. But she couldn't help the pride she felt at having such a powerful son that did things his own way. She thought of Inuyasha as well. He too shared the same trait as his older brother. She had only seen him from afar but for the first time, they shared the same space. Her nose could smell her Inu-Tashio's scent running through his veins as if he was full demon. She tilted her head knowing a conversation needed to be had with him and others regarding his meaning to her, the White Inu Clan, and the Western Throne. My boys. So much like your father.
