Chapter 14

In the grand halls of the Asgardian palace, the All-Mother, Frigga, contemplated the unfolding drama involving her son Thor, his 'mortal' wife Kagome, and her imprisoned trickster of a son, Loki. The recent events had created a complex web of emotions and relationships that needed to be addressed before they spiraled further out of control. With graceful determination, she decided to visit Kagome in her chambers to discuss the matter.

As Frigga entered Kagome's chambers, she noticed that the young queen wore a weary expression. However, there was a flicker of relief in Kagome's eyes as she welcomed the All-Mother inside. The room, adorned with Asgardian elegance, provided a serene backdrop for their impending conversation.

"Kagome," Frigga began gently, "I have come to speak with you about the recent developments in our realm and the relationships that have formed."

Kagome's exhaustion was palpable, and her emotions teetered on the edge of frustration. She had been grappling with the whirlwind of emotions stirred by Thor's actions, Loki's revelations, and the growing bond she shared with the imprisoned trickster.

In a voice that trembled with a mixture of anger and hurt, Kagome spoke, "How can you defend your son when he's flaunting his 'mistress' in my face? Meanwhile, Loki is left to rot in a cell."

Frigga raised a calming hand, her eyes reflecting her empathy for Kagome's plight. "Kagome, you must understand that Loki is a master of deception. He may be using you for his own purposes."

Kagome's frustration with this explanation was evident, and she shot back, "Loki is the only one who was ever honest with me. He revealed the truth about the necklace." She leveled her mother in law with a bland look, letting her know that she now knew why she had been off when she had initially told her about the necklace.

Frigga's eyes widened in surprise, and she struggled to find words to respond. She had not been aware of the deception surrounding the necklace and was taken aback by this revelation.

Before Frigga could respond to Kagome's earlier revelations, an urgent message, delivered by a hurried messenger, disrupted their conversation. Kagome listened with mounting apprehension as the messenger relayed the dire news from Earth. A crisis of monumental proportions had unfolded on Midgard, and it became apparent that yet another secret had been kept from Kagome.

She glared at her husband as he entered her room, without so much as a knock, and dismissed the messenger with a frustrated glare of his own. It was obvious that the messenger did not get the memo that she, the future queen, was to be left in the dark about the happenings on Midgard.

Her heart pounded with a mixture of anger, anxiety, and a burning desire to return to Midgard to aid her people. Her voice trembled as she demanded, "I need to go back to Midgard, now. My duty as a native of Midgard is to protect them, and I won't stand idly by while they suffer."

With a firm resolve, Kagome even revealed a white lie she had maintained—she had claimed to have been a part of SHIELD before her marriage to Thor. "Just because Jane is safe in Asgard doesn't mean it's okay to let the rest of Midgard suffer," Kagome concluded, her voice unwavering. "I'm going back, with or without you."

Her words hung heavily in the air, leaving the room charged with tension. The All-Mother watched Kagome closely, her concern deepening. Kagome's determination to protect her people was resolute, and she was prepared to confront anyone, even her own husband, to fulfill her duties as both a queen and a protector of Midgard.
