Monday, July 6, 1998
The following morning, Hermione was pleased to hear that Lucius Malfoy had been captured on one of his weekly runs to Gringotts. Draco had offered the goblins numerous pieces of Goblin made jewellery for them to notify him and the Order was sent in to capture him. All in all it felt a bit anticlimactic. Hermione was asked to make her presence known at Headquarters, but would only agree when Draco and Theo could go with her. They planned to go the following day so that they could prepare themselves to see him.
Draco begrudgingly got up in the morning on time to make it to Hogwarts, but Hermione and Theo stayed in bed for much longer than they normally would. When they finally deigned to get out of bed, Blaise was pacing in the parlour an amused looking Ginny sipping tea in the corner.
"Finally!" Blaise shouted, "If you expect me to be any help you can't bloody well keep me in the dark! I had to find out from bloody Crabbe that Draco had been hurt and that they didn't expect him to survive. I've been trying to get into contact all weekend!"
A few seconds later, Gertie popped in, "Miss Parkinson, Miss Greengrass, and Miss Millie is being here to speak to Master and the Mistresses!"
"Send them in," Hermione said patiently, tapping her ring to enact her glamour.
The three girls burst into the room and took in the gathered group before shouting about Draco. Hermione simply raised an eyebrow at the three of them and gestured to the tea service that Ginny had had laid out. "Care to join us?" Hermione said dryly.
All four of the former Slytherins sat at the edge of their seats while Hermione poured their teas at a glacial pace. When everyone was settled with a cup of tea, she nodded to Theo. "What a delight to have you all here at Mitternacht for tea. To what do we owe this delight?"
"Theodore Francisco Nott!" Pansy shrieked, "Tell us what happened to Draco!"
"Oh!" Ginny chortled, "Malfoy is fine, he's at his internship today, whatever you heard I'm sure was grossly blown out of proportion. He was the only other member of the household to have breakfast with me this morning."
"He's always been a morning person," Theo chimed goodnaturedly.
"There have been rumours," Daphne said ominously, "that the end of the Malfoy line was nigh."
Hermione snorted, "Yes well, seeing as the next generation of the Malfoy line is currently doing flips in my uterus, that's all a bunch of hoopla."
Daphne gaped at her, "You-" she looked at Theo who smirked back.
"I suppose we're looping in Daph as well then," he chuckled, "Draco, Myuh and I are a triad, there was no way I was getting married without that sod, and we may have lied about when we got together."
"I'm about 11 weeks," Hermione shrugged.
"April!" Pansy shrieked then sat back and swallowed heavily. "I-I mean, congratulations! We'll have to throw a proper celebration."
Hermione threw her head back and laughed, "You've caught me on a day when my hormones aren't rampaging and I'm able to keep my biscuits down."
Theo gestured to Blaise and they stepped out of the room, leaving Hermione and Ginny with the three Slytherin girls. Hermione led them on a tour toward the nursery that had only just begun being designed. "I'd like to do a constellation theme," Hermione said, smiling up at the dark blue ceiling. "We've decided to name him Scorpius Theodore Malfoy, but we haven't announced yet so please keep this between us."
"Scorpius!" Daphne cooed. "Now I'll have to move up my wedding date so that our children can attend Hogwarts together!"
Pansy and Ginny gagged and rolled their eyes, while Millie tucked her arm into Hermione's and asked questions about the nursery plans. By the time Draco appeared for dinner, the Slytherins were all lounging in the living room waiting for him. After an appropriate amount of teasing, the group made their way to the dining room to have an impromptu dinner party.
There we go, now I'm only 20 days behind…. Sigh. I'm hoping to catch up before I start my new job on August 15th! Wish me luck and let me know what you think about the 7 chapters once a week or 1 chapter a day idea!
