When she opened her eyes, the room was extremely bright. Both of her hands were enveloped in larger ones and she couldn't remember where she was or what happened. She blinked a few times and tried to make a noise, but her throat was so dry she felt like she'd swallowed sand.
She attempted to turn her head, but found that even that amount of effort was too much. She left out a wheezy moan, and the two men on either side of her jolted up. She saw both of their anxious faces come into her view and she attempted to smile. Almost immediately the blond one started crying, and reached out to touch her face.
She subconsciously flinched, and she saw a pained look cross his face. "Hermione?" whispered the one with dark hair.
She darted her eyes toward him and felt a sense of relief come over her. "Water?" she mouthed. He used a stick to bring one from thin air and all she could do was watch him in awe. What was going on?
He held it to her lips and she took a sip of the cool liquid. After a moment he pulled it away and she attempted to clear her throat. "Wh-Where am I?" she groaned.
"You're at home, love," the dark haired one said, "in our bed."
"Our bed?" she wheezed out.
"Yes," the blond one said, softly, "our bed."
Hermione's eyes darted between them, "I-I feel like I know you… but I-I can't…" she trailed off, "who are you again?"
The dark haired one closed his eyes, and she could swear he was blinking back tears, the blond one clenched his jaw tightly. "What do you remember?" the blond one asked after a moment.
She sat for a few moments and then looked up at them, "Something is telling me to hold your hands, but that's silly? I know I'm Hermione Granger and my parents are dentists…"
"Yes, of course, Mi," the dark haired one whispered thickly. "Can we-" he choked a bit, "can we hold your hands?"
She looked between them thoughtfully then nodded her head. Each man reached for her hands tentatively, but once the three were connected, it was like being hit with a wave.
Draco calling her "Mudblood" for the first time.
Punching Draco in the face.
Noticing the quiet dark haired Slytherin who watched her while Draco said terrible things to her.
Fourth Year in the library, watching Theo chew on the end of his quill.
Dancing with Viktor at the Yule Ball and catching Draco's eye, trying to ignore the feeling it brought up.
Kissing Theo for the first time.
Theo calling her "Love" for the first time without meaning to.
Theo finding her after summer holidays and spinning her around as she giggled.
Draco apologising to her.
Theo calling her "his" in front of Draco and Draco's shocked face.
Draco apologising again and again.
Coming on to Draco.
Being between them for the first time.
Scorpius.
"Scorpius!" she called, hands pulling from theirs to feel her stomach. She felt a flutter in her abdomen, and relaxed against the pillows.
After a moment, making sure she could feel him inside of her, she reached her hands back to Draco and Theo. "I remember you," she whispered.
Theo was weeping openly now, "I th-thought y-you'd f-forgotten us," he sobbed.
Hermione pulled both of them toward her, and Theo collapsed on the bed, burying his face in her neck and wrapping his arms around her. Draco stood stiffly at her side. "Come here, mon étoile," she murmured.
He didn't let go of her hand, but did not come closer either. Theo, finally sensing that something was off, looked up at their husband.
"Granger I-" he said softly.
"Don't, Draco," she said softly, "we've been through too much for anything to come between us."
With a sigh he sank down next to her. "Help me turn, Theo," she murmured. He obliged and helped turn her so that he was spooning her and she was facing Draco. She reached up and touched his cheek. "Nothing," she said firmly, "will take me away from you. Not even your fucking prejudiced father."
"He's no Father of mine," Draco sneered and then took a deep breath.
"What happened?" she asked.
She felt Theo's arms tighten around her and Draco's face blanked and after a moment, his eyes darted to Theo's over her shoulder. Hermione attempted to turn her head, but Theo's shudder behind her stopped her.
"He-" Theo choked out, "he blew something in your face, we couldn't tell what it was, but you just went down like a sack of potatoes, Kingsley caught you and I had my wand drawn on Lucius. He just settled in his chair…" Theo pressed his nose against her neck. "He looked so fucking smug when he looked down at you, Mi. Kingsley looked at me and I rushed to you, and Kinglsey detained him. You were so grey."
"I felt it," Draco whispered, trailing his finger along her cheek, "I was in the lab and I just… fell to my knees. I knew something was wrong. I just… left."
"He was at Headquarters like three minutes after you collapsed. We got you to Andromeda and she started to run diagnostics. No one could figure out what it was. You were out for fourteen days, love." Theo continued.
"Because of the fucking Unbreakable Vow, we can't kill him and he can't be punished for this…" Draco said, angrily, eyes glinting.
Hermione swallowed heavily, "What was it?"
"He won't tell us, but from what he implied you wouldn't survive. When you were still in your coma," Draco spat, "after a week, he looked…"
"Alarmed," Theo said and she could hear the smirk in his voice. "We've been pushing Magic into you almost nonstop."
"What about your Apprenticeship?" Hermione gasped.
"Our little Swot," Draco said fondly, "I sent Sluggy on an all expense paid vacation or I should say that I had some of his old Slug Club members take him on a trip. The Dark Lord wasn't pleased, but I told him that it would give us a chance to help you with some pregnancy complications, and he was slightly appeased."
"He only had to endure two hours of torture," Theo snarked.
"Draco," she murmured, pulling him closer.
After a few more minutes of silence, Theo stirred behind her. "We need to call Andromeda so she can check on you."
He stood and Draco helped her lay on her back, taking his seat next to her bed again. Theo called his Patronus forward and sent it off to Andromeda. Not two minutes later, Andromeda, Narcissa, Ginny, and Harry burst into the room. Hermione blinked at them all, taking in Ginny and Harry's teary faces and Narcissa's sigh of relief. Andromeda stomped over to her and started doing diagnostic spells.
"You ridiculous witch!" Narcissa scolded, "I've just gotten the daughter I've always wanted, and while dear Ginevra is a gem, no one can be you! You need to be more careful, I'm not sure what we would do without you!"
Hermione felt herself flush and although she wouldn't ever admit it, she quite liked the motherly way Narcissa was treating her. Andromeda continued to tut above her. "It looks like the poison is out of your system, but I don't like where your Iron levels are. Can you move your arms and legs?"
"Not on my own," Hermione said quietly.
"I'll help her get back in shape," Theo said quickly, "Whatever she needs, I'll have the elves force feed her blocks of iron."
Harry snorted, "I don't think that's how it works, mate."
Theo ignored him as he continued spouting off all the ridiculous ways he was going to help her. After a few moments, Hermione cleared her throat and patted the bed next to her. He sank down at her side and immediately latched onto her hand, running his thumb against the back of her knuckles.
"I'm prescribing bed rest and I want you to follow the exact diet I prescribe to the elves, no exceptions. I'm glad you're alright Hermione," Andromeda added after a moment.
The rest of the afternoon was spent surrounded by Narcissa, Ginny, Harry and her husbands as they cooed over her and told her all the things they'd missed, including Molly leaving the Order to live with her Aunt Muriel, Dean Thomas gaining a gigantic facial scar, and Percy being introduced to the Dark Lord.
As the three of them soaked in the bathtub that evening, Hermione looked at Draco and Theo, noticing just how haggard they looked. "I'm sorry," she said quietly.
Draco sighed and rested his head against Theo's shoulder while Theo tilted his head back against the wall of the massive tub. "It's not your fault, love," Theo said, pulling her into his lap from her perch next to him. "We should have expected something sinister from Lucius. Unfortunately the way that the Vow was worded, no one who is in the Order can punish him for his crimes during the War. Draco and I have been working out how to make his lifelong House Arrest the most miserable experience possible."
Draco came and stood behind her and began to wash her hair. "We haven't been able to do a wash day on your hair since before you were out," he murmured, dropping kisses along her neck and shoulder. She sighed and rested her forehead against Theo's shoulder as Draco massaged the products into her hair.
"Mum went and slapped this shit out of him," Theo chuckled, running his hands along her waist and hips, "It was a sight."
Hermione laughed softly. "I would pay to see that memory."
Draco pulled her head back gently and began to wash the product out of her hair. He rubbed in the deep conditioner and Theo helped as they attended to each individual curl. "I love your hair," Theo said, smiling down at her.
She groaned, "It's such a pain in the arse, but it has grown on me."
Draco rubbed his fingers against her scalp and she moaned, accidentally grinding herself against Theo, who bucked against her, pushing her against Draco's front. "Love, if you're not trying to start something here in this bathtub, you'll have to control yourself."
As much as Hermione wanted to make love to them, she knew that she wouldn't physically be able to. "I…" she bit her lip, and looked down at the swirling bubbles of the water sadly.
"Don't worry," Theo chuckled, "as soon as you're ready, so are we."
"Did you… while I was…?" she asked, shyly.
"Who is this shy little woman on my lap? This couldn't be our big, bold, beautiful wife, could it amor?"
Draco let out a soft huff of laughter behind her, "I could barely sleep or eat while you were out, darling. As handsome as our husband is, our minds were not even remotely on sex. Don't worry you didn't miss anything."
She sighed softly as Draco finished washing her hair, "I'm sorry I was gone," she whispered, letting out a small sob.
"You have nothing to apologise for, love," Theo said, kissing her forehead. "We had all the faith that you'd come back to us."
