It was a couple of days after the defeat of the last of the Shadow Riders.
Nightshroud.
Camula Lugosi.
Tania.
Dennis McField.
Kite Tenjo.
Yuri.
And finally, Amneal, which only the Key Keepers, Sheppard, Yusuke, Syrus and Chumley knew that it was actually Lyman Banner.
It was actually a quite a shock to most of the students that there was a war in Duel Academy, but then again they really didn't remember the fight against the Venom Rider, for the better, even though most of them have interacted or only watched with some of them like the Vampire Rider, Amazoness Rider or even the Entertainer Rider.
Every time even one of the defeated Key Keepers were near them, they cheered them on, which was great at first, but it was getting quite tiring for most of them when they are going anywhere, and I mean everywhere with praises. Some who were defeated by one of the Key Keepers, mainly the ones that were defeated by Jaden from his ridiculous adventures before the Shadow Riders, had even more respect, yes even for Crowler.
Some even wanted to hang out with them, not Crowler since he is a professor, which they respectfully, in their own ways, told them that they weren't interested.
One time, Raizou and Taiyou tried to hang out with Chazz and asked them if they could hang out with them as Kite, and his monsters, cracked their knuckles as they have heard how they pretty much backstabbed him after the promotional duels, but they didn't do anything when Chazz told them to piss off which they did.
However, it was quite awkward for everyone that weren't the Key Keepers, or close to the other Key Keepers, to have two Shadow Riders, Photon and Entertainer Riders, to go around the school with the Key Keepers, hanging out like they always were. They even saw them helping Doctor Crowler with the homeworks and his poems, which were quite terrible if they were being honest.
They were really pissed off that they allowed the two people that tried to destroy the world and this school, walking around like nothing happened between them, so they had the bright idea of coming near them and try to either scare them away or beat them up so they don't come near this island.
Reality hit them harder than Obelisk's Fist Of Fates as Kite, with the help of a certain indigo haired duelist, looked at them, then to each other, then to them back as they cracked their knuckles and beat them up so hard that they went into the infirmary with some broken bones and a new living nightmare of the two.
Like said again, the two former Shadow Riders were always around the former Key Keepers, the current Key Keeper and Yusuke Fujiwara, with the help of Honest, as they were watched the entire time, but respected the entire time they were there.
They were living in the free room inside of the Obelisk Blue dorm that had two twin beds, a desk with a computer with a chair that gave them the ability to spin around, a massive TV on the walls with CDs of movies like the greatest movie of all time Thor: Ragnarok, Top Gun Maverick, Robin Hood the 2018 version and similar movies, with also some anime DVDs like for Mob Psycho 100, My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer and so much more.
While they were with the Key Keepers, and Yusuke, they had thoughts on everyone.
Dennis thought that, while cold and brooding most of the time, Zane was actually was a nice person to be around, sure he may not talk much, but he is a great listener and truly cares for his loved ones, Yusuke, while awkward and serious like his friend, was also a good person to be around, and can't help, but love to tease him with a certain yellow haired girl, Alexis he thought was an excellent person to be around and isn't as loud as the Slifer Reds, but not as quiet as the other Obelisk Blues, a perfect middle and can't help, but tease her with a certain green hair boy.
He thought that while strict, Crowler is a person that you could trust since he truly cares for his students, he thought that Bastion while a bit of a dork, is one of the more maturer ones, even for his love of one of his comrades is a little uncomfortable, he thought that Chazz was a tough person to be around, as he is quite rude to someone like Syrus, but he knows that he truly cares for others, that isn't Syrus, he thought that Celina was actually scary when mad, but is a nice person if you get to know her, and if he was honest, he has a lot of fun teasing her about a certain brown haired boy which has a funny reaction every time, and he thought that Jaden was the most fun to be around since he does share the most similarities between them, but the worst part of him was that any time he teases him with a certain girl he is just confused the entire time.
Kite's thoughts on all of them were almost the same, but slightly different. He liked hanging out Zane almost to anyone else, as like him, he rarely, if ever, started a conversation, but when they do, it is an interesting one, Yusuke is the one he feels the most sorry for since, his body was taken over by Nightshroud, Alexis was the one he feels the most neutral on, since she was the one he spent the least amount of time hanging, while annoying at times, he thought that Crowler was a respectful person, if you put away trying to expel one of his students.
He thought that Bastion was the one he had the most enjoyable conversations since he brings interesting points and is the one he respects the most, even if his love for Tania is kinda creeping him out, he thought that while Jaden can get frustratingly annoying at times, he knows that he is a good kid, Celina was the one he is the most split on, on one hand, her violent tendencies can be weird and frightening at times, but then again she is one of the more normal ones and is the one that he likes talking to when he is annoyed at someone and Chazz…he is the one he liked being around the most. Not for any other reason, but because he is like a little brother to him, the one he had to protect from everything.
After the duel against the Final Rider, Sheppard thought it would be appropriate to give the rest of the Spirit Keys to Jaden since he was the Final Keeper and he thought he was one of the strongest Key Keepers. Not the, that title still goes to Zane afterall.
Right now, it was almost the start of the first period and Yusuke, Chazz, Jaden, Alexis, Syrus and Celina were there talking about anything like the new episode of My Hero where it was mostly flashbacks with Kite being near them, on his phone going through Instagram.
It was weird seeing a person their age, maybe even older, around them with his phone with him acting like he was a student there, but they don't want to have what a certain group of students had when they angered him.
Dennis was with Zane and Chumley this time of the day since he heard the first lecture of Crowler, and while he does respect him, he did find him a bit annoying during these types of lectures.
They were pretty bored for the most part since they had nothing to do for the rest of the days other than be prepared for the fight against the leader of the Shadow Riders, which not even the Shadow Riders know his true identity.
Not to mention it was the first period with Doctor Crowler, and that is always a drainer due to his long lectures and too strict teachings, and if you make him mad, you get detention and may god be on your side if you fall asleep during one of his lectures, he will pull you aside and yell at you for 2 hours. Good thing Jaden made a mask that was secretive as Superman's glasses or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trench coats, but somehow worked.
Bastion walked in, a couple of minutes to spare, in the classroom and walked towards his friends, "Good morning everyone." he greeted to everyone who did the same as he walked over Celina, "Oh, and good morning to you too."
She looked at him, "Dude are you still mad about yesterday?" she asked him as Chazz groaned.
"Seriously man! She apologized for what happened!" he said as Kite raised an eyebrow.
"I can't help it, but say that was the worst migraine I have ever had in my entire life, and I am with Jaden most of the time! No offense." he said to the Slifer Red.
"None taken." he said to the Ra Yellow.
"To be fair to her, that name is one of the most confusing things I have ever heard in my entire life." said Alexis as most of them nodded when she said that.
Kite looked left and right, trying not to sound intrigued as the curiosity got the better of him, "Okay, what are you guys talking about?" the Photon Rider asked them as the juniors all looked at him.
"Well…" droned off Jaden as he began what happened yesterday.
In the Ra Yellow's room, aka Bastion's, they were all in one room playing a certain video game by the name of Guilty Gear, which they were at the story when Sol Badguy's, who wasn't the bad guys of the game confusing Celina as this was her first time ever hearing about the video game, love interest, Aria, who was at the time killed, but resurrected in a massive robot which Sol Badguy had to fight.
Syrus, Jaden, Chumley and Chazz were on the ground watching this game, taking turns every time someone lost a life or died, Celina sat on one of the chairs that Bastion had left over from home, Alexis was on the chair near to the computer and Bastion was on his bed, sitting on it.
Kite was at the time with Yusuke and Zane while Dennis was around with Crowler at the time.
Celina had like 4 different headaches playing this game because it was so confusing on her end while the rest played this game at least once, but this one broke the straw. "Okay, I didn't expect her, a small girl with orange hair, to look like that, but what I also wasn't expecting was the MASSIVE ROBOT DICK! Who even does that?!"
It was true, the robot between the legs was a massive blue energy sword like weapon. Why did they create that?
Bastion, who was a enjoyer of the Guilty Gears, tried to answer her question, "She most likely was created as a massive 'Fuck you' for poor Sol by That Man." Whose real name was Asuka R. Kreutz, but Bastion forgot at the time.
Celina looked at the Ra Yellow in confusion, "Which man?" she asked.
"That Man." simply answered Bastion as they all were silent on how this conversation would go towards.
"I only see Sol Badguy and this robot thing." said Celina as she tried to find another man on the screen, but to no avail.
"No, no, it's That Man." said Bastion as he tried to sound reasonable to the only female Slifer Red.
"It's only us, Bastion. Do you have beef with someone?" asked Celina as Bastion rapidly shook his head.
"No, listen." he tried his hardest not to blow up, "The villain is That Man." he said, stopping the game.
"So Sol Badguy is the Hero and the Villain?" asked Celina, rapidly getting angrier as the series was getting to her nerves.
"No, no he's another character!" Bastion took a deep breath as everyone were almost laughing at the situation, "Look, just pretend Sol Badguy isn't there."
"You mean he's invisible!?" yelled Celina as Bastion stood from his bed.
Bastion tried to sound this out like it would work in any other way, "When this person was born into the world, his parents looked at this child and they, in their infinite wisdom, decided to call their child THAT MAN." he said, nearly reaching his point as he had tics on his head when he is trying to explain this character's name.
"Who were they looking at, Bastion!?" yelled Celina as she stood up to see his face as everyone covered their mouths with their hands.
"HIS NAME IS T-H-A-T SPACE M-A-N!" said Bastion, nearly throwing hands with her.
"WELL, YOU KNOW WHAT, F-U-C-K SPACE Y-O-U!" said Celina as she mimicked Bastion's 'space' as she walked towards the door, "I'M OUT!" she said, opening the door and closing it.
Bastion sat on his bed with his hands in his hair as everyone began laughing their asses off. Some were on the floor and they couldn't stop laughing so they ignored getting up.
After 30 minutes or so, when they were all calm, Celina opened the door, shyly this time, looking guilty, "So I searched up his name on the Internet and found out his actual name is That Man. I apologize for earlier, let's move on." she said as she sat down.
"...and that's about it." said Jaden, chuckling to that memory as did everyone that wasn't Kite, Celina and Bastion.
"Please don't talk about that moment, I had the worst headache in my entire life when we had that dreadful conversation." said Bastion as he had his hands in his hands the entire time.
"I have to agree, I am never playing Guilty Gears ever again in my life, it was one of the most headache inducing things I have ever heard, and I live next to Jaden." said Celina as the boy whom she definitely didn't have feelings for, nope, not even a tiny bit, absolutely none, turned to her.
"HEY!"
"No offense."
"Full offense taken, at least Bastion said before I reacted." said Jaden as they nodded.
"Yeah at least say that you didn't mean to offend anyone." Alexis shook her head.
"Meanie." Syrus wasn't scared of her after the incident with the two Slifers, so any attempts were futile.
Celina cracked her knuckles at the teal haired coloured boy.
"Eep!" he ducked under cover.
Okay maybe that was a lie.
The entire time this conversation was going on Kite's mind tried to register what he heard about Guilty Gear as he tried his hardest to understand, "So, let me get this straight. The Hero of the story is a guy who's last name is literally Badguy, but the villain's name of the story is That Man? And one of the characters died in the past, but didn't die in the present?"
"Yep."
"You told it perfectly, my guy."
"To a T."
"Accurate."
"From what I have heard, yes." they said one after the other.
Kite took a deep breath as he pulled out his phone and headphones, right before saying, "What kind of game is this?" he asked.
"A fucking weird one." said Celina as she tried her hardest to forget the game series, which was fun at the time, but then it got so confusing for her.
"Yeah I can see that." said Kite as he plugged in his headphones to watch some reviews of old movies.
While they did enjoy the silence and the peace around Duel Academy, but at the same time, it was extremely boring for everyone. Sure no more threats, except for the leader of the Shadow Riders, but at the same time it kinda gave them the adrenaline rush that they needed for.
There were times where they did get that with some other adventures, like with the pirates, but at the same time, it was boring. Really boring for everyone.
"You know, I think I have an idea." said Jaden as they looked at the Slifer Slacker.
"You and ideas don't mesh well." said Chazz as they nodded to that.
"Sorry to tell you this, but your ideas go well as peanut butter and peanut allergies." said Yusuke as Jaden looked offended by that comment.
"Hey, that's mean!" he said, offended.
"Jay, your last idea before the Banner one made us almost drown." said Syrus as Celina, Alexis, Chazz, he, Bastion and Chumley got shivers down their spines when they remembered that memory.
"Okay, in my defens-"
"I am sorry to cut you off, but we are not hearing your defense on that terrible plan of yours where we almost drowned and that was the good part of it!" said Alexis to him as they nodded with her.
"It wasn't that bad!"
"Not bad?! I literally slept with one eye open during that time we went with you and that idea!" said Celina as she hated that experience.
"Okay, now you are over exaggerating it." said Jaden, as he learned that word last week.
"I have seen Shortstack bring his brother near the dorms so any other student or animal isn't there for a straight week!" said Chazz as he looked at Jaden.
"So that's why he looked exhausted every day that week." mused Yusuke as Kite continued to watch a review of a nostalgic like critic review The Room.
"Okay guys, can you please hear my idea!?" said Jaden as he stood up, scaring mostly everyone that wasn't his friend. They looked at each other and they sighed. They looked at him and nodded, waiting for the sweet taste of death when this all backfires.
"Sweet, thank you." he then sat down and looked at his friends, "So I was thinking that we set up a little party like celebration for at least the defeat of everyone other than the leader of the Shadow Riders. Everyone will be there, yes even Crowler, and we can chillax and have some BBQ."
They stopped to think about that idea. Unlike the others, and like that incident that was actually a decent idea. A way for them to celebrate their victory over the defeated Shadow Riders, even if they were there with them.
Even Kite was interested in that idea.
"That…actually sounds like a decent idea," said Celina as the rest nodded.
"Yeah, I honestly need that after the coma-inducing duel that I had." said Chazz as he still hated the fact that he was in a coma after his duel, which Kite felt sorry for the entire time.
"I concur, even if Alexis and I don't know how exactly we lost the Spirit Keys," Yusuke, Celina and Jaden stiffen when they heard that, "It would be extremely nice for all of us to have some relaxation about those duels."
"That does sound like an interesting idea." said Alexis as she nodded with the Ra Yellow.
"Yeah! We need it after all of the scary parts of it are almost over, even if we did include the leader of the Shadow Riders." said Syrus the last part silently as he nodded.
"I will ask Zane if he would like to go as well, but will Chancellor Sheppard be a part of this as well?" asked Yusuke as Jaden grinned.
"Why of course he will, why won't he?" said Jaden as Yusuke nodded. He looked around, "So who will get what for the BBQ?"
"I will get the drinks for the BBQ since Ra Yellow has the most amount of both healthy and unhealthy drinks that we all can legally drink," said Bastion.
"We have a decent amount of meat at the Obelisk Blue, so we can get that part." said Yusuke as Alexis nodded.
"We could get the chairs, tables and plates at the Slifer Red dorm." said Celina as everyone nodded with that.
"Alright! That only leads us to a grill!" said Jaden as he looked around, "Do we have a grill?"
"I can build one." said Kite as they all looked at him.
"You can?" asked Syrus as Kite nodded.
"Yeah, before I came to this Dimension and before my brother was born, I created two robots by the names of Orbital 7 and Lillybot." said Kite as they looked at each other and smiled.
"Great! How long will it take you to make that?" asked Chazz as Kite placed his fingers under his chin, "Depending if I get help and the help of some Energy Drinks, I can say, 6 hours at the most."
"Damn, that is fast! But we still have class, though." said Yusuke as Kite stood up.
"I don't since I am not a student here, now which one of you will go with me?" asked Kite as Chazz stood up.
"I will since I want to see this with my very own eyes." said Chazz as Kite nodded at the words of the former Princeton. They went towards the entrance of the room as they were stopped by a loud shrieking voice of a certain professor that likes to call himself Doctor.
"WAIT! Now where do you think you two are going?" asked Crowler as he narrowed his eyes.
"I have to build something and I need someone to be around me due to our rules. Don't you remember?" asked Kite as Crowler rolled his eyes.
"While yes I do, why now though?" he asked as Jaden answered for both of them.
"Because we have something special planned for today, and we really need them to work on it. Come on, teach. You can be a part of it too." said Jaden as they looked at him at shock as they then realized he was already planning to add him so they looked at the teacher.
He sighed, "Fine. This better be worth it." he said under his breath as the two went into the place where most duel disks were made, which was another thing that they added for some reason, and went into it to create a new grill.
6 hours Later
It has been a couple hours since the ever mentioned idea for a small party near the Slifer Red dorms with the Key Keepers, two former Shadow Riders and the ones that helped them, as they brought things for the small celebration.
Once the Slifer Reds arrived at their dorms, they went into the dining area, opened the door and brought out the tables and chairs, around 5 tables and chairs max, and layed all of them almost together so it would be big enough for everyone to sit and enjoy.
Bastion arrived soon enough while carrying in his hands a plastic bag with drinks, legal ones for everyone to drink like Coca Cola, Sprite, Fanta, Pepsi, orange juice, apple juice, cherry juice (not wine), some actual water and an Energy Drink for him.
Alexis, Yusuke and Zane brought the meat for the occasion, like a ribeye steak, pork chops, chicken breasts and even some cod.
Crowler, while being the one that was the most shocked that they are having a small BBQ ultimately went to it with his students, was the one to brought out some utensils and plates on the table and even for the grill.
Chancellor Sheppard brought everything you need to start a grill. A chimney starter like a lighter fluid, long-handled tongs, a still-bristled grill brush and two spatulas so someone could flip the meat. The one thing that would make this difficult to even manage was that he brought Dorothy to that.
Everyone sucked in a breath as they pretty much knew what was about to happen, something that would make both of them impossible to even do something simple as cooking.
Zane remembered that time when he walked in on that time where Sheppard was flirting with a picture of Dorothy when he was learning about the Cyber Style and the poor 6 year old had to experience a new side of his teacher.
Yusuke remembered that time during the school duel between North Academy and Duel Academy when the prize was revealed to be a kiss from Dorothy, the way he, Atticus and Zane fell down was immense.
Everyone remembered that time where Chazz defeated Jaden, to which the former Princeton still brags about to this day, when Foster was the time to get a kiss from Dorothy, the way he ran away with tears in his eyes.
Celina shivered once she remembered a certain memory, "I still remember that time where he flirted with a picture of her and the way he threw the picture behind him once I coughed in front of him." she said as everyone turned to her in a shocked expression as Alexis and Chumley remembered that memory. Meanwhile Sheppard and Dorothy are flirting with each other the entire time with Crowler shaking his head the entire time.
"Oh so that explains that broken window. I thought I was the only one who saw that." said Alexis as they looked at her.
"Or why the Kaiba enforced repairmen went towards Duel Academy that day," said Chumley.
"I…I don't know how to feel about this." said Syrus as he looked at them and cringed. He looked away.
"I concur, I will never look at him the same way again." said Bastion with a slightly uncomfortable face.
"Good for them at least?" said Jaden as he even felt uncomfortable.
Yusuke and Zane looked at each other and then back to them, and back to each other. They shook their heads at the same time as they closed their eyes towards the two.
"Speaking of which, where is Dennis, Chazz and Kite?" asked Zane as if on cue, Dennis appeared behind him honking on a horn, which scared the Kaiser and the Emperor as they turned around and delivered a two punch combo.
"Oh! What was that for?!" yelled Dennis as he rubbed his cheek.
"You sneaked up on us and blew a loud ass noise in our ears, how else would we react?" asked Yusuke as they took a good look at him. Sure it was his regular attire, but this time he wore long red shoes, a yellow flower on his jacket, in his suit was a small blue handkerchief as his face was covered in white coloured make up and had a bright red nose.
"Uhm, Dennis, why do you look like a clown?" asked Dorothy as Dennis turned around.
"Well for the party of course! You can never have a party without a clown, am I right?" he asked as everyone didn't know how to respond to that, and how could they? "Come on, guys, I am not clowning along." he laughed at that pun as Jaden chuckled.
"That's a nice one." he said, nodding to that pun as Dennis turned to him.
"If you think that is nice, then you should try sniffing this flower! As long as you aren't allergic to pollen." he said as everyone widened as Jaden approached him.
"Okay sure! It does look like a nice flower." he said as he walked towards him as Crowler tried to stop him.
"No, wait, Jaden, that is a prank!" he yelled as Jaden dismissed him as he went to the flower and smelled the flower.
"That nice- ARGHH!" he yelled when water appeared from the flower as Jaden covered himself from it. All of them that weren't Dennis put their hands on their head.
"What did you think was going to happen?" asked Celina as Jaden tried to open his eyes, but couldn't as it was too much water.
Alexis looked at Dennis, ignoring Jaden, "You do realize this is a BBQ, right?"
Dennis turned to her, "What?"
"Yeah, you do realize that clowns aren't usually in BBQs, right?" asked Bastion as Dennis slightly dropped.
"Unless they are American." said Chumley as they all nodded.
"Yeah, in that case, they do have clowns, but usually?" asked Syrus towards the Entertainer Rider.
"No, I understand. I will go change." said Dennis as he turned around, but then turned towards Jaden with a handkerchief. "I am sorry for that little joke, here is a handkerchief as my form of an apology." he said as Jaden took it.
"Nah, it's fine and it didn't hurt me that much." he said as he took the handkerchief, but then another handkerchief appeared from it as it tugged together. Curiously, Jaden pulled again to reveal another handkerchief with a different colour.
As then he then went and pulled on every handkerchief to the fullest as it just went on and on.
"Uhm, Jaden, are you going to stop?" asked Sheppard as the Slifer Red looked at his Chancellor.
"I do, but I also want to see how long this thing is." said Jaden as he kept pulling as everyone watched in amazement at how long it was, even Zane was impressed at how long it was.
After a minute or so, it finally came to an end as dropped down to the floor to which he used to clean his face with it as Dennis went in and cleaned his face and changed that attire for his regular one.
Around the time he was finished cleaning himself up, they all watched as Kite and Chazz were pushing together on a new grill that they were shocked since they were created from spare duel disks that duelists no longer use.
The thing was on 3 wheels which were all perfect for the size, it was circular in shape as it had a combination of a grey and blue colouring scheme.
"Holy smokes! How long did that take?" asked Dorothy as she watched the grill set up by Kite and Chazz.
"To build…around 4 hours, but on the pain job?" wondered Chazz as Kite finished the question.
"An hour." he said as he nodded.
"Yeah that much."
"That is disgustingly impressive." said Yusuke as Zane nodded.
"I have to agree with you on that." said Zane.
Ass everyone, and I do mean, everyone approached and admire the newly built grill that was created in only 4 hours, which given the things that were in there, had to be an impossible task that only the Photon Rider could ever make. They admired how impressively made it was and the paint job, which was somehow fresh, but not dripping to the floor. The fact it was created in less than a day, is extremely impressive to everyone.
However, in Celina's mind appeared an idea that created a devilish grin as she thought the best idea to make fun off Chazz due to their little bet they had over the last Shadow Rider, in which they had to make that is Dorothy the last Shadow Rider, which was proven to be that she wasn't.
She placed a hand on his shoulder as the black jacket wearing boy looked at her. "Hmm?"
"Remember our little bet?" she asked him as Chazz groaned.
"Really, now?!" he yelled at her as her grin didn't disappear.
"Oh come on, of course I do. Let's be honest, if you won that bet, you too would make a humiliating dare right here and now." she said to Chazz.
Chazz was quiet, "...touche."
"Told you and come on, it will be a quick one." she then placed her mouth near Chazz's ears so only he could hear it and his eyes widened.
"You want me to do what!?" whisper yelled Chazz as Celina grinned.
"Oh come on, it will be a quick one, only 30 minutes." she said as Chazz narrowed his eyes.
"5 minutes."
"25 minutes."
"10 minutes."
"20 minutes."
"15 minutes. That is the maximum I can do." said Chazz as Celina shook her hand with the ravenette.
"Deal." she said as the others continued to compliment the grill. "Now why are you still here? Go, go. Chop, chop." she said as Chazz snarled.
"I am planning on it, just go and drink something!" said Chazz as Celina went to sit down with a grin on her face and poured herself a cup of Sprite. As then he had an idea as well, and he grinned.
He pulled on Jaden, who was looking at the inside of the grill, and ignored him yelling "HEY!" and whispered in his ear a plan of his. The more he heard about the idea the more he was ready to do it with him, but he frowned at the sound of how long it would last, "Just 15 minutes of it?"
"I'm afraid so, man, but come on! Let's do it together!" he said as the brunette nodded with him as they both went to his room to change.
When they did that, all of them decided to sit on one of the long chairs, pouring themselves a glass of juice, the ones that they liked the most and let Sheppard and Dorothy grill it since they are the most experienced with it, but it was going nowhere since all they did was flirt with each other, making most of them groan.
When Dennis was finished with his make up, he went near Kite's seat, since he was the closest person to him, and sat with him. He looked at what he was watching, since his phone was dead at the moment and he let it charge in their room, and his eyes widened as he watched reviews of a Chicago resident and his reviews. He didn't say a word as he realized that he actually quite liked the show.
Bastion, who was looking elsewhere, noticed that two duelists that dueled against each other in the school duel weren't there and he looked around, "Hey, guys? Do you know where Jaden and Chazz are?" he asked as they also looked around.
Celina grinned at the latter, "Oh I know where Chazz is, but Jaden? No clue." she said honestly as she finished her glass of Sprite.
Zane turned to her, "Why do you know where Chazz is?"
"Oh nothing special, just a little dare that I won from him." she said as Syrus and Chumley did remember that they had a little dare which she won. Celina also thought about where Jaden was and her eyes widened when she realized what he was doing.
"No, please don't tell me tha-"
The door was opened and they all turned around. They dropped their jaws when they saw it, even Sheppard and Dorothy. Crowler leaned on his chair thinking about how that Slacker beat him. Alexis and Bastion look flabbergasted at what they were seeing. Dennis, Syrus and Chumley were close to laughing at what they were seeing. Yusuke and Zane looked at each other and then back to them, and then back to each other as they looked at the skies at the same time. Celina did a spit take, which landed on Kite who was just relaxing, watching his favourite Internet series, and her face became red as a liberty apple. Sheppard and Dorothy decided to ignore what was happening and continue flir- grilling!
You see, the two of the strongest juniors and the Slifer Reds, were shirtless and had their hips covered in leaves of ki and had headbands and bracelets out of the leaves.
Basically they were hula dancers from Hawaii.
"Okay, first question, why are you doing this?" asked Bastion as the two looked at him.
"I lost a bet and I had to do one dare, which I made into a positive." said a grinning Chazz.
"I am just doing it for the fun of it." admitted Jaden.
"Alright, I understand that part, but why now?" asked Alexis.
"Because she wanted me to humiliate myself at this time, so I had no choice, but do so." he said as they all knew from who it was.
"So why did you include the Slifer Slacker?" asked Crowler as Chazz looked at the person whose face is now as red as Slifer's skin.
"Because I know a certain someone that we all know who she has feelings for so why not make her suffer as well?" said Chazz as Celina placed her hands on her face as she tried to cover up the noises.
"And who is that?" asked Jaden.
Everyone did a face palm.
"Idiot." "Dense fuck." "This shouldn't be possible." "Again from what I expected from the Slifer Slacker." "How is the last remaining Key Keeper?" "Are you sure he is the one you want to duel the most?" "Sadly yes." they all said to themselves that part as he looked confused.
Kite didn't say anything as he turned to Celina, "Really? Him?"
"SHUT UP!" said Celina as she looked at him and returned to her hands. She couldn't see this backfiring in any way other than this. The worst thing about this is that before she could look at him shirtless just fine, but now, she couldn't even look at him without a shirt on. "WHY?!"
After this the most she could do is just look away when he is wearing that.
Once that was over, Chazz and Jaden sat on the chairs and they quickly got annoyed at Sheppard and Dorothy flirting with each other. This has been going on for at least 30 minutes, and that was before they changed.
Kite, who was a really good chef despite Orbital 7 and Lillybot doing most of the cooking back home, quickly grew more annoyed by the second until he couldn't take it anymore.
"THAT'S IT! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!" he yelled, shocking most of them and the two. He walked towards the two and separated the two, "If you two aren't going to do shit, other than flirting, then I want your asses to sit on the chairs and wait for the food yourselves!" he said as the two raised their hands.
"You could of just said so." said Sheppard as they both sat on the chairs.
Kite took some deep breaths and calmed himself. He looked at everyone else, wanting to give them a try at cooking, "So who wants to do cooking?" he asked.
"I don't want to." said Alexis as she had flashbacks from when she was a child and she wanted to do some BBQ. It was a nice day, where her family and friends were there and she wanted to do some herself.
Fire. Fire. On flames. It was all on fire.
The field was on fire. Atticus Rhodes was on the table laughing like a maniac with fire in the background, Skye Zaizen was being held by a running Akira Zaizen, her older brother, with Declan Akaba and his father, in his late 30s, Leo Akaba putting out the fire in the field with fire extinguishers while the rest of the children and family members were running away from this mess. Zane and Yusuke weren't there since they were sick at that time.
Alexis Rhodes was on the floor, holding her legs and going up and down while saying to herself, "Never again. Never again. Never again. Never again."
"Never again." said Alexis in the present as they all looked at her, but Zane and Yusuke knew that since Atticus couldn't stop talking about it for a straight week.
"A match made in heaven. Or in this case hell, right Yusuke?" asked Zane as he grinned to his best friend to which he hit him with his shoulder.
"Shut up, please."
"Why are you booing me? I am right." said Zane.
Yusuke sighed as he stood up, "I think I cou-"
"NO!" Crowler jumped from his seat, making most of them nearly choke on the apple juice. He looked at the Kaiser and Emperor and pointed at them, "I am not letting you two cook anything! Have you really forgotten that time where your cooking attempt caught me on fire!?"
Everyone looked at the two who were quiet as Kite couldn't believe that the two best duelists here can't cook to save their lives.
"I was at the infirmary for weeks, recovering from those burns! Granted Atticus and I did got to know each other that time, but you two are legally banned from cooking!" he yelled as Kite rubbed his forehead in frustration.
"Okay, since you have a problem with them cooking, why don't you grill?" said Kite as Crowler shook his head.
"Oh no, I can't cook. I buy things online or eat in the cafeteria." said Crowler.
Kite looked at all of them, "How did none of you starve to death?" he asked them.
"Dorothy." said the Slifer Reds, Obelisk Blues, Crowler and Sheppard.
"Me." said Dorothy.
"Satyr." said the Golden Eggwich of Ra, the only Ra Yellow.
Kite placed his hand over his eyes, "Chazz?"
"I haven't touched a stove in my life." he said honestly.
"Ra damn it." he looked at Dennis, "Dennis?"
Dennis only smiled as he shrugged his shoulders, "I only know how to cook a pretty good french toast and that's about it."
"At least you can cook something." said Kite.
"If you have problems with no one grilling, I guess I ca-" stood Celina as the Slifer Reds, sans Jaden, Bastion and Alexis looked at her.
"NO!" they yelled at the same time.
"You nearly gave us food poisoning with that thing made!" yelled Chazz as Jaden looked at him.
"Hey, I liked it." he said as Alexis looked at him.
"Jaden, you have an iron stomach, you don't count." she said as everyone nodded to that.
"What did you even use for that?" asked Syrus as he looked at her, "Rat poisoning?"
Celina sat down and poured herself a glass of grape juice and acted like it was alcohol and drank down. "I tried to do something nice and this is what I get."
"I will try my best." said Bastion as he stood up as Kite sighed, a person that he could actually respect and think could cook pretty decently, he walked towards his seat next to Dennis as he sat down.
He pulled out his headphones, ready to continue to watch more of the series that was also part sketches and reviews. He could finally re-
"The hell is he doing?" asked Kite as he watched the Ra Yellow pick up a stick and decided to write math on the floor using the stick as a pencil and the floor as a piece of paper.
"Oh, he is doing equations," said Dorothy.
Kite turned to her, "On a grill?"
"Yep." said Zane.
Kite thought about returning to the Shadow Riders and get the final Spirit Key so he could unlock the Sacred Beasts. Kite sighed as he looked at Jaden, Syrus and Chumley, his final hope of actually grilling on the food.
"Please, just do something. Just grill it decently." said Kite as Syrus stood up sheepishly.
"I guess I could try it out." he rubbed his arm, shly.
"Do your best." said Kite as he sat down with Dennis, to which the red-haired boy patted him on the back.
"You can do it, Sy." cheered Jaden, still in his hula outfit.
"Believe in yourself." said Zane as he looked at Syrus opening up the grill, which no one did for about 30 minutes.
He was impressed by how it looked, but he had to do it. He took a lighter and the lighter fluid. He put the lighter fluid and put a decent amount of lighter fluid on the charcoal, a good start. He took the lighter and then pressed on it until it could start it which it did work.
There was one problem however.
He was on fire when he did that.
"SY!" yelled Jaden and Zane as they stood up and took some towels for him.
Everyone that wasn't Chazz stood up and gave him directions like to stop drop and roll. Chazz was eating popcorn when that was happening. Chumley took a fire extinguisher as Bastion continued doing math as he was then pulled by Wheeler and his family.
After a few seconds of Syrus rolling, Zane and Jaden tried to stop a fire with towels and Chumley stopped all of this by using a fire extinguisher. They checked everything and found that there was nothing bad at all.
Kite took a deep breath, "You, Chumley, grill it now and good." said Kite as he gave the lighter and lighter fluid to Chumley.
The Slifer Red senior nodded as he went to the grill and the others sat on the chairs once again.
Once he was near, he reached for something in his pocket, "Don't even think about adding cheese to my grill and ruining it." "How does he know!?"
"Simple, you are reaching for something in your pocket and when I hear everything about you, I will know that you are about to make a grilled cheese which you shouldn't even think about adding it since if you will ruin Chazz and mine's grill, you best believe that you are catching my hands." he said simply.
"Can he read my thoughts!?" thought Chumley.
"No I can't read thoughts." said Kite as Chumley dropped his head and placed everything where it was. He walked towards the table and took a glass of juice.
"You can try, Jay." said Chumley as Jaden stood up with a grin on his face.
"Oh, I can't wait!" he said as he walked towards the grill and grabbed the lighter fluid and the lighter.
Bastion then came back to the group as he held his shoulders for a few seconds and sat down. He looked like someone who got jumped by a gang of mobsters. He took a glass of orange juice and drank it down like it was beer, like it would make his pain go away.
"What happened to you?" asked Yusuke as they looked at him.
"Oh, nothing, I just got jumped by a family of monkeys." said Bastion as he took another glass.
"What." said most of them as Syrus nodded.
"Oh, Wheeler, I was wondering what happened to him." he said as Sheppard placed his hand on his chin as he took a glass of juice.
"I should probably do something about that." said Sheppard as Celina looked at him.
"Probably? No, you SHOULD do something about that." she said.
"Agreed." said everyone else.
They then looked at Jaden, the Final Keeper, the only reason why they are even alive, put too much lighter fluid and then set the grill on fire.
"WOAH!"
"MY BABY!" yelled Kite as he ran towards the grill and used the fire extinguisher. He put the fire down with the foam.
He turned around towards everyone and his eyes were cold like the deepest part of the ocean. "THAT'S IT! I AM DONE WITH YOUR HORRIBLE COOKING!" yelled Kite as he pointed at Jaden who raised his hands in the air, afraid for a butt whooping.
"NOT JUST YOURS, BUT EVERYONE ELSES COOKING! SO YOU KNOW WHAT?!" He took out his jacket to reveal a plain white shirt and wrapped his jacket around his hips. "I AM GOING TO COOK IT WHILE YOU ALL ARE GOING TO WAIT!" yelled Kite as everyone did as the Photon Rider told them since they really didn't want to make him mad since that is the worst thing to do when he is like that.
He cleaned the grill first so it could be safely used, carefully placed the lighter fluid, and started it. He then took the spatulas and placed them on the grill accordingly.
Chazz looked at the time and sighed, "Looks like we have to go, Slacker. 15 minutes are up." Chazz said as he stood up and Jaden sighed.
"Really?" The ravenette nodded, as he sighed, "But I had so much in this."
"Come on, Slacker, I will make you regret it." he said as the two strongest freshmen went to their rooms to change. Chazz noticed that the camera feature that they added in which it continued to take photos, even while it was on fire.
Around five minutes, they were all done and they saw that he was doing it amazingly and looked quite delicious.
They were all drinking juices, taking selfies, talking about some movies and some anime, even if the guys have this insane urge to go there and talk about how amazing it will be, so it was Chazz did it, and the two actually bonded more and he learned how to properly cook something which was helpful.
After all set was done with the food, he took out a plate and placed them all gently on them. They all took forks and knives and took some pieces of it since it was more than enough for everyone.
They took the first bite and…wow, they are actually shocked how good it is. The flavours were going through their mouths, every bite, every centimeter of it was absolutely done perfectly.
When they were done, they felt like they went to heaven and ate someone there…that was very specific, but it was that good.
Kite rubbed his shoulders when he got the compliments from everyone, but as soon as he saw one of the rooms glowing, more specifically from Jaden, Chumley and Syrus. "Uhh, Jaden?"
"Yeah?"
"Where did you place the Spirit Keys again?" asked Kite as they all looked at his room which was glowing as Sheppard's eyes widened in fear as he knew what that meant.
"No…" he said to himself as he stood up.
"In my backpack, the same place I put my duel disk, deck and the Emerald Tablet. Why?" asked Jaden as they all turned to the room and their eyes widened as they stood up.
"Don't tell me." said Yusuke in shock.
"No." Zane gritted his teeth as Jaden went to his room.
"Please don't tell me what I am thinking." said Alexis as they all looked at the Slifer Red.
"Based on what has happened up to this, it is extremely likely." Bastion cursed under his breath.
"What's happening?" asked Dorothy.
"You shouldn't know this, just please go, this doesn't concern you." said Dennis as he looked at her.
"But-"
"Just go." said Crowler as she frowned, but listened to him.
"Come on, this can't be." said Syrus as Chumley gulped.
"This isn't lishcous."
"Understatement of the century." said Chazz as Celina nodded.
"Exactly."
Jaden opened his door and to his shock his backpack was glowing and floating in air. He took a step back as he saw it started flying. "Dang it." he said as he jumped from the railings as they went towards the bag.
"Damn it! Don't let it go away!" yelled Sheppard as they all went towards the bag as they didn't hear the helicopter coming near a certain place of the Sacred Beasts.
They all watched while they were running 6 pillars emerging from the ground, shaking the Earth's core as trees fell and after the other, some even getting hurt by the trees as they ran face first into them.
Unknown to them a massive part of the forest disappeared as then it was created a small field that anyone could enjoy dueling in, but they will find out that shortly it wouldn't be for fun.
Jaden ran towards the bag as he was the closest, as he picked up to gain speed for the bag as he jumped forward and caught the bag, making his jacket slightly dirty as he did land on some sand. "Guys I caught it!"
They were all relived for a moment as they approached him, but then the box containing the Spirit Keys ripped itself from the bag and then the Keys opened the case as they then flew towards the pillars.
"Oh… sugar honey iced tea." said Jaden as he stood up as the Keys went into the pillars and they were then sucked in.
"What's happening!?"
"They are sucking up the Spirit Keys!"
"I never thought how much destruction this would actually cause!"
Jaden stood up as he turned backwards as he felt something shaking as he then stood up in shock. A massive black box emerged from the ground similar to one like Pandora's box, as it opened another metal box and then from it…they emerged.
The Sacred Beasts.

"I can't believe it."
"They are here."
"The monsters we tried to summon."
"The monsters that we tried to stop from appearing!"
"This can't be."
"No. No. No!"
"It's them."
"The Sacred Beasts."
"Those cards don't belong to you!" yelled a familiar voice for three people, Kite, Dennis and Sheppard as they looked up to see a helicopter coming from it and near them like something from them are going to duel against someone and get the Sacred Beasts.
"What is that?" asked Jaden as he squirted his eyes towards the plane.
"Yeah, ask us. Like we know!" said Chazz sarcastically as he and the others watched, as the three saw the man they knew, even with 2 of them having memory problems with this individual.
The machine from the plane went out of the helicopter as it then dived straight to the ground. When it landed it created a massive dust cloud which can be seen from the Obelisk Blue dorm and created winds that nearly made all of them fly to the trees.
Jaden was the only one who could remotely even stand to this as he looked over to the machine as they saw who it is. Sheppard, Dennis and Kite's eyes widened when they saw him.
"It's him." started Kite.
"The founder of the School." Sheppard looked in horror to see the man that founded the school to be the leader of the Shadow Riders.
"Kagemaru." finished Dennis.
The machine appeared as a mechanical spider that had pointy legs on the tip of the legs. In it was a tube of an old man that had water around him, an oxygen mask so he could keep breathing and several IV test tubes all over his back. The man was known as Kagemaru.
"Those cards belong to me, Kagemaru!" yelled the man inside of the machinery as he looked towards everyone and then to the three people that know him, "Ahh, Kite, Dennis, Sheppard I am so glad that you recognize me! These years have not been kind to me, lately."
"How could we not!? You are the exact same as I saw you, Kagemaru!" yelled Kite in rage as he walked towards him, but Dennis grabbed his shoulders.
"Kage-who?" asked Celina as they were also confused on who this man is.
"Chancellor, you know him?" asked Crowler as he looked at Sheppard in confusion.
"He's…" he gripped his hand and gritted his teeth, "He is the superintendent and founder of Duel Academy!" he yelled, shocking everyone that weren't Kite and Dennis.
"That's right, everyone! I, along the help and money from Seto Kaiba, built this school, and you can imagine what else I have built." his eyes looked around the Spirit Gates and the mechanical box. "And I was the one who sealed them away. The one who started the Shadow Riders. The one who is the Master of the Shadow Games. The one who ordered Amneal to wipe away Yusuke's memory." Yusuke, Zane, Chazz, Jaden and Honest all glared at him as he wasn't finished, "And I was the one who gave Sheppard the Spirit Keys."
Everyone gasped as Sheppard looked at him with a glare.
"Alone, they are useless as wet paper, to unlock the Spirit Gates, I needed Dueling Energy in every time you dueled a Shadow Rider, all of them." said Kagemaru as he approached the Sacred Beast cards.
"Wait what?" Zane narrowed his eyes.
"That's why I created the Shadow Riders, and why I brought the best of the best, using them to my greatest ways to come here, wiping all of the information from everyone's memory and unable to go back to their old dimension. I waited every year, every class, every single small and pathetic duelist here like the ones that were in the abandoned dorm that I used," he said as their eyes widened when they heard that.
"You used us?" Kite narrowed his eyes. And then he realized what this meant. He can no longer see his brother ever again. He could never see his family ever again. He is here forever, "YOU BASTARD!" he yelled as he could feel Galaxy-Eyes' rage as well as they all stepped away from him.
"How low can you get?" Dennis couldn't believe it. He was nobody to everyone else. A forgotten memory to everyone, even to his parents. He dropped to his knees as Kite looked over and placed a hand over his shoulder, trying his best to suppress his rage.
"Those forgotten children… YOU were the reason?!" yelled Crowler in disgust as his words registered in Yusuke, Zane and Alexis' brains.
They closed their mouths with their hands as they thought of someone they truly cared about.
"Atticus..." Alexis tried her hardest to keep her compurser, but she could feel arms around her neck around her in a nice calming way to keep her emotions, but made it worse as she knew it was from Yusuke as Zane approached her and gave a hug to both of them.
Jaden saw how all of them reacted to this and he could feel anger coming through him as he glared at him, small parts of his eyes were turning into amber, but were turned to brown as he looked at Kagemaru.
"You are the reason why he is missing!? Alexis' brother?!" yelled Jaden as Kagemaru laughed.
"Him? No, I have no idea where he is, but someone like, say, the Barians? I do know where they are." said Kagemaru as he looked at all of them, "I have to say that I am disappointed in almost all of you. I sent the Shadow Riders so they could test you if you had powerful dueling spirits, but it seems that almost everyone here failed, except for one. One that is powerful enough for me to use the power of the Sacred Beasts and to RULE THE WORLD!"
Celina gipped her hand into a ball as she gritted her teeth, "So, not only did you use us, but the Shadow Riders as well for this. Why didn't you just get the cards yourself, or are you too weak to do so?"
"Ahh, Celina, I don't think it is wise to make him an-" Celina turned to Syrus with a glare as the smaller Slifer Red turned to face the ground, not wanting to make her mad as well.
"Enough!" Zane walked away from his friends as he thrusted his arm to the side, "You are not getting the Sacred Beast cards, so long as I am around!"
"Back off, he is mine! This guy really thinks that he should do all of this and think that he could rule the world? Hell no!" yelled Celina as Chazz stepped in.
"Please, it's the CHAZZ that should duel him!" he yelled as Yusuke, who was done hugging Alexis, walked up to him.
"Are you kidding? This man almost killed me when I was sleeping, I should get him!" he said.
"I will get him, and I swear on all gods on the planet if he is the one responsible for Atticus' disappearance, nothing will save him." said Alexis as, given the right opportunity, would destroy Kagemaru for hurting her older brother.
Bastion stepped in, "I would love to take a crack at him for all of the pain you made us go through."
"Oh no, I should get him." they all turned to Kite who looks like he was this close to exploding as he glared at Kagemaru, "This man is the sole reason why I will never see my brother again, and I don't care what he throws at me, he will suffer." he said the last part with such venom that it could melt metal with it.
"No. None of you will be my opponent, my opponent will be…" his eyes turned to the brunette, "Jaden Yuki."
"Excuse me, what?" asked Jaden as Kagemaru's eyes narrowed.
"You were the only one to prove that you can open the Sacred Beast cards, so I have to what's necessary." said Kagemaru as then electricity appeared from the Spirit Gates as they went towards each other to create a force field so no one can enter…
…or leave.
"And if you refuse to duel me, I will make sure that you, everyone around you, every student, every teacher, every living organism on this island and the island itself, will sink into the deepest part of the ocean." said Kagemaru as Jaden's eyes widened.
Not only can they not leave this place, but to watch their friend duel the man that was trying to rule the world with one of the most powerful monsters in all of existence, but if he even tries to not duel him, not only him, but everyone will drown, suffocate under the water.
"YOU CAN'T!" yelled Jaden as from Kagemaru's machinery appeared two arms with only 2 fingers, with one of them holding a duel disk that was the one during Domino City when Kaiba made a tournament.
"Oh I can with these." said Kagemaru as he went to the Sacred Beast cards and went towards them, grabbing the Sacred Beasts making everyone gasp in horror.
"The Sacred Beast cards!" cried out Jaden.
"Well, good luck, Jaden, because you are going to need it." said Celina as everyone nodded with her.
"I need it more than ever," said Jaden as he looked down at his destroyed back and crouched down. He picked up his duel disk and his deck, but a card slipped out of the Emerald Tablet as he looked at it.
"That's Professor Banner's card!" thought Jaden as he picked up the card to reveal it to be Sabatiel - The Philosopher's Stone. He read some of the effect, and thought it was decent, so he took it and his deck and shuffled it with it.
"Jaden, go rock his world!" said Chumley as Jaden nodded with a grin of his own.
"Will do!" he said as he looked at Kagemaru.
It was it.
The duel that would either save the world or destroy it.
The fate of the world.
They looked at each other and yelled at the same time, "DUEL/DUEL!"

And that is it! We are the semi finale of the Shadow Rider arc of Yugioh GX: Rewrite, but don't worry, we still have 4 chapters left for Season 1. Around 10k words, pretty decent not going to lie.
Here we are with a new chapter of the Shadow Rider arc and I hope you guys enjoyed. I love how this went from one of the funniest chapters to one of the most serious chapters I have ever written. The next duel is going to be tough for me to write, but I know I can survive and manage, and a certain monster that in canon appeared 80 episodes after this will appear.
I decided to make Kagemaru even more evil than in canon, if that was somehow possible, and don't worry, he won't get spared like in Canon by Jaden breaking his back, oh no, I have something very special for him. Have any of you seen or read Chainsaw Man? Just think of his punishment that Denji and Aki gave to Katana Man, but with more people involved.
Sorry to leave you guys on a cliffhanger, and what's worse is that this I am not going to update this story for about 2 weeks due to a certain VRAINS story I have to continue on, so hope you guys enjoyed.
