2/2 for today!

Thursday, July 23, 1998

The sun was barely creeping over the horizon when Hermione jolted awake. Theo was snoring softly behind her and Draco was staring at her like he was memorising her face. "Did I wake you?" he whispered.

"N-No," she yawned, "it was a dream."

"Wha-what did you dream about?" Theo mumbled from behind her.

"It was the same dream I had during my coma. There were two kids laughing, but their laughter kept getting further away. I was searching and searching Mitternacht for them but…" she trailed off.

"Hermione, we'll always be together," Draco said softly.

"But you can't know that!" Hermione argued, "I know the laughter is Scorpius and his brother, but you two aren't there. What if- What if we all don't make it out of this?" She broke down in sobs.

"Hermione," Theo cooed, turning her to face him, "We're soulmates. There is nothing anyone can do to separate us. It's us against the world, love."

"B-But Th-Theo!" she continued sobbing, "Draco was on the verge of death and then I was in a c-coma, and nothing can happen to either of you or I wouldn't s-survive."

"Hermione, that's not going to happen, we'll be more careful… we'll…" Theo stopped talking and she saw tears tracking down his face too.

"I just love you both so much and I don't want to be separated from you," Hermione continued to sob.

"Granger," Draco sighed from behind her, "Come hell or high water, we will be there for each other. And if one of us… can't be, then we have to stick around for-"

"Scorpius!" Hermione sobbed. "What if he's an orphan like Harry. What if we have two children and then we die and they're raised by-"

"My mother and Ginny," Draco smirked although she could tell that he'd been crying too.

"Salazar," Theo chuckled wetly, "can you even imagine? They'd be like these freakishly well dressed quidditch phenoms…"

Hermione shuddered, and let out a hiccough. "That settles it, none of us can go, or our children will never learn to love books the way they're supposed to."

"We need to write our wills," Theo said softly. "Draco and I talked about it while…"

"Yes," Hermione said, trying to sit up, and struggling until they helped her. She conjured some parchment and a Muggle pen and began to write. "I'd like to have books for each of the boys for the major milestones with notes from all of us. We'll have to write them all in advance, and then if the time comes and we're still around we'll rewrite them. Everything from the Malfoy estate to Scorpius and everything from the Nott estate to Tharin. Of course if I pass away, all my books will be distributed to the correct places. I've had those written down for ages. We'll have to make sure that Ginny and Narcissa are written in and that Lucius loses all claim to anything related to the Malfoy name. I'd like to make sure that Harry is allowed to see the boys regardless of how you two feel about him. I know they're no longer together but I'd like to make Ginny and Harry the Godparents, although I'd prefer them to be raised by Narcissa and Andromeda and Remus along with Teddy-"

"Hermione!" Theo said, ripping the pen from her hand.

She blinked at him owlishly, "Y-Yes?"

"Scorpius and Tharin?" Draco asked pointedly.

"Well yes, I don't want them to be too far apart so I'd like to work on Tharin almost immediately," Hermione said with a shrug. "We could be pregnant again as soon as March."

"Th-Tharin?" Theo asked quietly.

"Well yes," Hermione said, blinking at them, confused. "I've known what we were going to name our son since Fifth Year when we had sex the first time…. What?" she asked, looking between them.

"Hermione," Theo said, and she could tell that he was trying to keep his voice calm. "You mean to tell me that you've been imagining having my child since we were 16 years old?"

"Well I wasn't going to have sex with you if I wasn't ready to co-parent with you!" she said, still not understanding what he was so shocked about.

Theo made a most un-Theo-like squeak and pulled her in for a rough kiss. "In March?" he asked against her lips.

"Well," Hermione said smiling softly, "Scorp will be here in January and I know it's not common to jump right in again, but I don't want them to be far apart, they won't be in the same year of course, unless we get Tharin up to speed very fast and submit a special reque-"

Hermione found herself pinned against the pillows, Theo hovering over her, kissing her. "Fuck," he muttered, "you really have been thinking about this, haven't you?"

"I'm not sure what you're so surprised abo-" and he was kissing her again, so she gave in and kissed him back.

"Merlin," Theo muttered, "I want you so badly, you fucking brilliant witch."

"Who said you ca-" she started, but snapped her mouth closed when Blaise burst in.

"Glamour," he hissed, and Hermione automatically obeyed, tapping her ring.

Blaise was followed seconds later by Millie, Pansy, and Ginny. "-just coming to see her and make sure her hair is loo-" Pansy was saying over her shoulder to an alarmed looking Ginny.

"I think that we did a fine job on our wife's hair, Pans," Draco drawled.

"You did," Hermione cooed, batting her eyelashes at him.

"You sneaks!" Pansy shrieked, "Why didn't you tell us she was awake?"

"Well," Hermione said, carefully, "Miss I Love to Barge Into Occupied Rooms, I woke up yesterday and can't even sit up on my own-"

"And we needed to spend some one on one time with our wife," Theo growled.

"Oh piss off, Nott," Millie said, flouncing over. Hermione couldn't hold back her grin. Gone was the shy little wallflower version of Millicent Bullstrode. "We're here to see our friend and drop off some fresh flowers, plus the kittens were pawing at the door, they've left some pretty good scratches." Millie deposited three of the cats on the foot of the bed and turned to the vase of fresh flowers, adjusting the stems.

"Wh-Who are you and what have you done with quiet Millicent?" Theo asked, blinking at her.

"Well," Millie said over her shoulder, "I've met the most brilliant woman who I like to think of as my best friend, although I know that she'd probably consider her husbands hers," she rolled her eyes good naturedly, "and she helped me see that that I'm not a meek little mouse."

Hermione threw her head back and laughed, causing Pansy, Theo and Draco to jump slightly. "Oh Godr-Gods, Millie," she finally got out after her laughter had died down, "I'm so glad you're here. You'll have to tell me everything I've missed while the boys go and get me some food."

The men all grumbled but obliged. Ginny hovered over the bed and looked at it suspiciously. "Does this need to be scourgified?" she asked, eyebrow raised.

"No," Hermione said with another laugh, "the elves changed the bedding while we were bathing yesterday and all we've done is sleep."

Ginny plopped down on Theo's side, sprawling across the pillows. Pansy sat cross-legged on Draco's and Millie threw herself on the bottom by their feet.

"Well," Pansy said, breaking the silence, "you're not allowed to do whatever that was again. They boys were miserable, they barely left your side. We had to start scourgifying them every few hours."

"The elves threw a fit when they hadn't eaten in a few days," Ginny said with a sigh.

"We're so glad you're back," Millie said with a grin. "Ginevra needs a lot more practice on her Society events before she's expected to take it all on."

"Oh don't remind me," Ginny said, draping her arm over her eyes dramatically.

The rest of her Thursday was spent in bed, laughing with her friends and hearing all about Ginny's mishaps at the Society events. Theo and Draco sat off to the side, barely taking their eyes off of her, even when Blaise tried to bait them with gossip and Quidditch talk.
