Chapter 1010

Impossible Already

Savannah and Young Allison exited the bedroom. They were all smiles and giggles.

They were in there longer than Cameron liked. She'd turned her hearing down so she couldn't listen. She wasn't sure what happened and the girls weren't saying. She thought it was better not to know, at least not yet.

Cameron and Anna were in the bunker when Savannah and Young Allison arrived.

Everyone acted as if nothing was a big deal.

"There are a few things I want to take care of today." Cameron said.

Young Allison went over to where Anna was and looked over the monitors. She quietly made a few 'suggestions' to CamNet.

"What do you have lined up?" Savannah asked

Cameron didn't want to neglect the girl's nutritional needs.

"I want to take both of you somewhere to get something to eat. I have something else to take care of." Cameron said.

Savannah looked at the monitors as well. She could see that Young Allison was concerned about something.

Anna gave her a brief rundown of what was going on.

The situation at the old supermarket was of concern to all of them but it didn't appear to be a threat yet. Derek's team was on the way there if any additional action was needed.

Cameron indicated it was time to go. No one was going to argue with her.

They needed to get going because of what Cameron already set in motion. They needed to leave now. The girls needed to eat something too. They headed out to the SUV.

Cameron handed Savannah the keys.

Young Allison saw that and wanted to take the wheel.

"Can I drive?" Young Allison asked.

Savannah shot Young Allison a quick glance.

When they looked at each other, they giggled a little.

Cameron and Anna walked behind them. They quickly looked at each other but remained silent.

Cameron began to wonder if maybe she should have listened to them in the room after all. She didn't know exactly what went on but didn't think it was anything major.

Savannah thought about letting Young Allison drive but decided she would instead. She didn't want to encourage her to drive during the daylight.

Young Allison looked at Savannah with her big doe eyes.

Savannah got a stern look of control on her face.

"NO." Savannah said. "I am. I'll drive."

Young Allison figured she was a passenger, at least for now.

Cameron and Anna got in the back seat of the SUV.

Savannah started the SUV.

"Where are we headed to?" Savannah asked.

She wasn't exactly sure of what all Cameron wanted to do.

Young Allison felt that choice belonged to Savannah.

"I thought you were going to drive." Young Allison said. "You should know the destination by now."

Savannah quickly looked at Young Allison.

Young Allison looked straight ahead and not at Savannah. She tried to suppress a giggle and almost did.

Cameron wasn't sure what was going on between them. She was pleased to see that both of them were in a jovial mood. Savannah looked much better than she did on the ride to the Young residence after they'd left her base. She took that as a positive sign. She wasn't sure if it was just because the girls were in each other's company that they both seemed happy or if maybe they'd done a little more in Young Alison's room.

"We can stop by a fast food place." Cameron said.

Young Allison was a little surprised at Cameron's suggestion. Normally when she wanted to go to a fast food establishment there was usually some type of negative feedback involved.

"I thought you wanted us to get a balanced meal." Young Allison said.

Cameron wasn't sure if Young Allison was joking. It seemed to her that Young Allison was being playfully combative. It made her wonder if Young Allison ate correctly in the absence of the others. Anna previously assured her that she had been. She wanted to see what Young Allison said.

"Have you been eating properly the last few days?" Cameron asked.

Young Allison felt that she followed all of the rules as far as nutrition went.

"Yes." Young Allison said.

Cameron wanted it to seem like a treat for both of them. She believed that the real treat would come later on after they were done with the meal. That's what she hoped anyway.

"Then this will be a special treat for being a good girl." Cameron said.

Savannah and Young Allison looked at each other with that statement. They both giggled and smiled and then looked straight ahead.

Cameron and Anna looked at each other but said nothing. They both began to wonder how far the 'Natural Order' may have actually progressed before they'd left. There really hadn't been that much time that passed after Cameron 'interrupted' the girls in what looked like the beginning of a private moment.

Savannah drove past a park. It was a different one from where Young Allison normally ran to and from at.

Young Allison looked over at the park as they passed.

Savannah noticed there was a look of disgust on Young Allison's face.

"You don't look very happy." Savannah said.

Young Allison continued to study the park.

"There's a lot of trouble that goes on there." Young Allison said. "Females aren't safe there."

Cameron was displeased to hear Young Allison say that. She knew there were a lot of places that weren't safe for females. Even the park where Young Allison did her exercises had been very unsafe. She personally made sure there were no 'problems' in the park or people that would become a problem. There were more than a few unmarked graves in that area to validate that fact. They weren't shallow either. No one would find the bodies.

Savannah looked back and noticed that Cameron seemed a little uneasy. She didn't want Cameron to get involved in a law enforcement affair.

"I think that's a matter for the local police department to deal with." Savannah said.

Young Allison felt otherwise. She felt there should be some preemptive action on the part of the police since a lot of things already happened there. The 'after the fact' approach did nothing to help anyone. It reminded her of the time she saw a news report. A woman was killed. It was a woman's relative who talked to the reporter. They stated that the woman who was killed called the police and told them her estranged boyfriend called her and said he was on his way over to kill her. They told her they couldn't act on threats. The estranged boyfriend arrived and was true to his word. He beat the woman, mutilated her and then killed her. The woman's relative pointed out all the police cars that were now parked around the area. They pointed out that the police couldn't send one car earlier but now there were forty of them parked there and around the area. How did that make any sense to anyone?

"So far they've failed to do that." Young Allison said. "They only respond after the fact and take an incident report after someone has been assaulted. The majority of them have been females. Nothing has been done to prevent anything from happening in the first place. Someone needs to do something to protect the females."

Anna could see that Young Allison was getting worked up. She knew that Young Allison followed a community blog that posted all the incidents that happened around the local community. Most of them didn't make the news at all.

Savannah didn't want things to get out of control.

"That's something we shouldn't be worried about that right now." Savannah said. "We're almost to 'restaurant row'."

The atmosphere inside the SUV was tense.

Savannah drove to the street with all the fast food restaurants on it.

"I want Allison to pick something that she wants and likes." Savannah said.

Young Allison spotted one place that she thought was good.

"Turn in up there." Young Allison said as she pointed. "The second place is good."

Savannah pulled into the drive thru of one of the local fast food establishments. There were several good ones in a row on the street.

Young Allison was faced with a mild dilemma.

"I like the fries from that place next door but the burgers from here." Young Allison said.

Anna didn't think that would be a problem. Normally they were out with the Detail or the rest of the family. There were usually plenty of Terminators present with them. She looked back and spotted the SUV with the Detail in it.

"No problemo." Anna said. "I can get the fries from the other place."

Anna was ready to get out of the SUV.

Savannah liked something else from the other eating establishment as well.

"I want the chili fries then too." Savannah said.

Young Allison remembered how good the chili fries were.

"Oh, me too. They have good chili there." Young Allison said. "What do you want from here, Anna?"

Anna didn't intend to try more than a taste. That was all she ever did. Young Allison always wanted her to get something. She learned there was no point in arguing.

"I'll split whatever Cameron gets." Anna said.

Savannah and Young Allison each ordered a specialty burger and a shake.

Cameron ordered a small chocolate shake for Anna and her. They would try some and give the rest to one or both of the girls.

Savannah was about to drive up to the pick up window from the ordering area.

Cameron wanted to make things easier for Savannah.

"Wait." Cameron said. "Let me drive so you can eat."

Savannah didn't think she would have a problem to eat and drive at the same time. Normally when she was out, one of the Terminators drove. She always liked to get in some wheel time when she could.

"I can do both." Savannah said.

Young Allison thought safety should come first.

"Distracted driving is dangerous." Young Allison said.

Savannah looked at Young Allison but didn't say anything. The comment was irritating but correct. She didn't want to set a bad example for Young Allison going forward. She opened her door and got out.

"You're right." Savannah said.

Cameron and Savannah switched. Young Allison moved into the back by climbing over the seat.

Savannah noted how rapidly and smoothly Young Allison did that. It only took a second and seemed effortless.

"You're an agile little devil." Savannah said.

Young Alison didn't care for the terminology.

"No." Young Allison said.

Cameron didn't want any tension between the girls. She knew that they were just being playful but she wanted to add her two cents worth. She looked back at Savannah and smiled.

"She's a little angel." Cameron said as she pulled forward. "Just like you are too…."

Young Allison wasn't done issuing directives about driving. She could see that Cameron forgot something very important.

"Fasten your safety belt, Cameron." Young Allison said. "Click it or ticket."

Cameron was a little irritated at Young Allison's comment. She was still in the parking lot of the drive thru. She glanced back over her shoulder at Young Allison.

"Maybe I spoke too soon." Cameron said. "I think she may be a 'she devil'."

The three of them laughed.

Young Allison saw the beauty in the moment.

"Now we're only missing one person." Young Allison said.

Cameron glanced over at the fast food place next door.

"Anna, will be back in a few minutes." Cameron said.

Young Allison wanted to make her position clear to Cameron.

"I wasn't referring to her." Young Allison said.

Cameron turned around and looked back at Young Allison.

Savannah reached over and took a hand from both Cameron and Young Allison.

"It will be so." Savannah said as she looked at both of them.

Young Allison wanted her future. She didn't want to wait for any of it.

"I swear it." Young Allison said. "It will be the FOUR of us."

Savannah didn't think she would be able to hold back Young Allison much longer from anything. She wondered if Young Allison would be with John before she was. It was clear Young Allison wanted to get 'popped' one way or another. She hoped it would be her first.

"The FOUR of us…." Savannah repeated.

Cameron wanted John protected from the anti-Metal group. The idea of the girls with John bothered her only in the prospect that he may prefer them over her. She thought that was inevitable anyway. They were real and she wasn't. She was thrilled by the prospect she would be able to 'be with' Savannah and Young Allison. It seemed like a worthwhile trade off to her.

"I will be." Cameron said. "The FOUR of us…."

Anna was on her way back, she carried two bags of food and two small rectangle drink containers.

She got in the front after she saw her rear seat was taken.

Anna noticed the festive atmosphere and all the smiles in the SUV. She figured something important must have happened while she was away.

"Did I miss anything?" Anna asked.

Cameron thought it was best if they skipped the subject.

"No." Cameron said.

The vehicle in front of them pulled away from the window at the drive thru. It was their turn now.

Cameron collected the order after paying and drove off.

Anna dispensed the food.

"I picked up an order of those little cinnamon rolls for dessert." Anna said. "I brought you each a milk too so you can wash it down."

Young Allison was pleased to hear that.

"You're the greatest." Young Allison said. "You know everything I like."

Anna was aware of what Young Allison liked and of her eating habits.

"We do spend almost every hour of every day together." Anna said and then quickly added. "I mean when you're awake."

Anna also spent time outside of Young Allison's closed bedroom door. She would let Young Allison 'finish up' and fall asleep. Then she would enter her room and 'talk' to her as she slept. She did that every night. It was part of her nightly conditioning.

Young Allison thought about what Anna said for a few seconds. She realized there was a lot more that Anna knew about her as well. She was sure that she knew how often and when she pleasured herself. She tried to do it quietly but sometimes the feeling overwhelmed her and she made a little more noise than she intended to. Normally it was like an explosion but sometimes it was like a star shell exploding in the sky. She didn't worry about it too much because the sounds that emanated from Allison's room and her mother's room were usually quite frequent and drowned out anything that she did.

"I guess we do spend a lot of time together." Young Allison said. "Even if we don't know that for sure all of the time…."

Anna didn't look back at her after that statement. It was clear what Young Allison referred to.

Savannah looked around. She didn't want the conversation to get too personal. She wanted to test Young Allison.

"Allison, do you know where we're headed?" Savannah asked.

Young Allison currently looked down at her chili fries.

"We're headed to the small airfield." Young Allison said without looking up. "The one that's private and isolated."

Cameron looked in the rear view mirror and smiled. Part of the girls training was to know where they were at, at all times and what divergent routes were available to them. They needed to know where they were at and where they could go if it was necessary to run. They only needed to run as far as it took for them to regroup and attack.

"You're absolutely correct." Cameron said.

Young Allison handed half her fries up to Anna.

"You two can try one or two if you want." Young Allison said.

Savannah handed something else up to Anna as well.

"We saved you each a mini cinnamon roll too." Savannah said. "You can split one if you just want a taste. They're not very big."

Cameron and Anna would only try a taste of each one. They did it to be polite because of the offer the girls made as well as for future reference of the food items. They liked to determine the nutritional value of everything that the girls ate.

"Thanks." Cameron and Anna both said at the same time.

They were just about finished as they pulled up to the isolated airstrip. Half of the Detail was waiting for them and the other half pulled up behind them thirty seconds later. It was clear that they'd been tailing them.

Cameron decided to lay it out for them. She'd arranged a special treat for the girls. It was specifically for Savannah but she wanted to include Young Allison as well. She was still very worried about what Savannah indicated she wanted to do in regards to her parents and the past. She wanted to get that off of Savannah's mind. Right now it was on the front burner. She wanted it on the back burner. She actually hoped to get it off of the stove. She figured between Young Allison and the surprise it might do it, at least for now.

"We're going on a surprise flight today." Cameron said. "You girls take a 'pit stop' if you need it. Otherwise you will have to tie it in a knot."

Young Allison looked at Savannah and giggled.

"There is nothing to tie in a knot." Young Allison said. "We're females. All of our plumbing is internal."

Savannah thought that she needed to qualify Cameron's statement.

"She's used to saying that to John, Kyle and Derek." Savannah said.

Savannah and Young Allison looked around. There was nothing there. They didn't see any plane ready or waiting. That was unlike Cameron.

They both knew Cameron didn't like surprises. They did know she liked to give them.

Young Allison looked around and back down the road they'd come up on.

"I see a fuel truck coming." Young Allison said.

Cameron wasn't sure how long the flight would be. She wanted the maximum fuel load.

"I want to make sure the tanks are topped off." Cameron said.

Savannah was already filled with suspense. She wasn't sure what Cameron was up to. She hoped to gain a little more information.

"What's the aircraft?" Savannah asked.

Cameron wanted the anticipation level to continue to build. She thought it would make the surprise more rewarding when it arrived.

"I gave you some manuals to read." Cameron said.

Savannah immediately perked up.

"I've studied all of them and watched the videos of the preflight procedures, startup, takeoff, in-flight tips and landing instructions." Savannah said. "You have provided me with a few different aircraft."

Young Alison quickly deduced what the aircraft would be. She at least knew the genre it would be.

"It will be one of the Warbirds!" Young Allison said. "I've only received a few of those manuals."

Cameron planned to take care of that before her trip into the past with Young Allison. There would be a selection of Warbirds available in the early Sixties. The condition of many of them would be questionable. She'd already taken steps to make sure anything that they would touch would be rebuilt and as good as new if not better.

"You will get all of them." Cameron said. "Before we 'go'."

Savannah shot a look at Cameron who held it. They both knew Cameron referred to taking Young Allison into the past.

Anna didn't want the atmosphere to turn contentious. Luckily she was able to detect something.

"It's coming." Anna said. "I can hear it."

Anna looked to the southwest.

Savannah and Young Allison looked that way too.

It took a while longer for the girls to hear it.

"I hear it." Savannah and Young Allison both said.

Savannah recognized the distinct sound of the aircraft. The way the exhaust was configured on the aircraft gave it a very unique sound.

Savannah had watched plenty of videos online and had been to a few air shows with Cameron to recognize the sound as well.

"Oh, Cameron!" Savannah said. "I've been waiting for this."

Cameron was pleased at how elated Savannah looked. She strongly doubted she thought of her parents at this point. That was her intent. That was her goal. She didn't want Savannah to dwell where there was pain. Now there would be joy.

Young Allison liked the 'muscle car' sound that she could hear.

"Listen to those engines." Young Allison said.

John Henry and John watched the surveillance footage of the two men who approached the old supermarket from the Command Center.

John wanted one of the teams to check out the old supermarket and the two men that were there. He wasn't happy it was Derek's team but they were the closest team. They'd been able to respond in a very short period of time.

"Derek's team is going to do a drive by." John said.

John Henry didn't want John to worry.

"I think it's just the homeless people." John Henry said.

John still wasn't sold completely on that idea. He'd been the one to float the idea first but he expected a sucker play from the Skynet forces or the Syndicate thugs.

"Or someone who wants us to think that." John said.

That could mean the team was being set up. John Henry thought that might make Derek a 'mark'.

John Henry wanted to make sure John understood the severity of the situation.

"This may cause Derek's vehicle to become a target then." John Henry said.

John thought it all depended on who was behind the old supermarket.

"If someone is 'playing' us." John said.

John Henry wanted to remind John of how they operated as well.

"It could be. We've played everyone else enough." John Henry said.

John decided to send out a specific warning. He didn't want to take any chances.

"Derek, I want your team to use extreme caution." John said.

Derek was a little concerned at this point.

"Is there something we should know?" Derek asked.

John didn't want any surprises.

"This could be a sucker play." John said. "It might be to draw us out or to see who returns to this location."

John Henry knew that was exactly what they were doing. there was no reason another group wouldn't do the same. The Skynet forces and the Syndicate both had troops unaccounted for at this point. Someone would want to know what happened to them.

"We did have two different groups who both lost teams to the unknown. In this case the unknown was us." John Henry said. "Everyone involved with the operations last night disappeared without a trace. It makes sense someone would want to know what happened or where they went. We would do the same."

Derek put everything into perspective.

"Now that you put it that way…." Derek said.

John would have liked to have thought about it earlier.

"It was a thought we just came up with." John said.

Derek was a little more concerned at this point about what they were headed into.

"Do we have anyone backing us up?" Derek asked.

John Henry previously took steps in that regard. He'd been prompted to do so like CamNet earlier. He figured that action was probably prompted by the Young bunker. It was clear at this point it was the right move, again.

"We've diverted a few teams to go there." John Henry said. "They're on their way."

Derek would like to have a little additional 'punch' if it was available.

"I know that it's broad daylight but will we have drone support?" Derek asked.

John didn't like to use drones during the daylight. They needed to operate at a very high altitude if they did to avoid detection visually from the ground. Their presence in the air was always masked by John Henry and CamNet from any radar. He understood it would take some time to get any there now at this point, even if they were scrambled immediately

"No." John said. "We weren't expecting this."

John Henry was a little surprised at what popped up when Derek asked about drone support. Even as John made his statement, he was rewarded with some video images.

"Wait." John Henry said. "I'm getting drone footage now."

John wasn't sure if John Henry refereed to the current target area.

"Where is it?" John asked. "Is it of that location?"

John Henry was just as surprised as John was.

"Yes and Derek's team." John Henry said. "I didn't do it."

John understood the implications of what that actually meant.

"CamNet…." John said.

John Henry felt that recently they'd needed to play a lot of catch-up in the Command Center.

"They always seem to be one step ahead of us." John Henry said.

John felt a little upset that they were always a step behind. He wondered if there should be better coordination. Maybe someone didn't want to seem that they were directly involved. They certainly played their cards close to the vest but when it was time to play, the cards were always shown. They were always the cards that were needed as well.

"How do we not know these things?" John asked.

John Henry understood exactly what was happening. He wasn't going to name names because he didn't need to. Everyone knew what was really happening in the background.

"Someone's trying to stay in the background and not step on your toes." John Henry said. "If you or we need the help, then we know about it. Nobody wants to say who is doing it other than 'CamNet'."

John was still a little frustrated at the lack of information sharing. He thought it would be nice if they were all on the same page. He didn't fully understand it was the Command Center that wasn't on the proper page.

"I appreciate the help but we should be coordinated." John said.

John Henry decided to point out the obvious.

"Did we have the drones out to back Derek up?" John Henry asked.

John frowned. They hadn't been on the operation that developed very long. They didn't know what they were dealing with.

"No." John said. "I didn't think it was necessary."

John Henry could see it for what it was. Someone didn't want to make John look 'bad'.

"Somebody did and didn't want to intrude." John Henry said.

John wanted to know exactly who it was that was responsible for the assistance.

"Was it from the Young bunker?" John asked.

John Henry tried to get some specifics from CamNet. The response was rather curt.

"CamNet said not to worry about it." John Henry said. "She said we have what we need."

John was a little concerned about what happened in the background. It seemed to happen rather frequently, recently.

"I am worried about it." John said. "I'm not talking about this operation either…."

John knew the girls, especially Young Allison, were going to be even harder to 'control' than Cameron was. THAT was impossible already. It was clear that once they were all in his bed, there wouldn't be any control at all. They would control him. He was sure that was a further attempt by Cameron to control him and direct him. She already did that now and she wasn't even there half of the time.

Vanna had been with Allison earlier until the Metal girls returned back to the base. She wanted to spend some time with Cam. Allison went off to be with Jesse. She would have liked to have expanded into a 'four way' but that would happen soon enough anyway.

Riley called her earlier and said that she would be needed in a few hours. It had been two hours time since Riley called. She wanted to make sure Precious was taken care of.

Vanna excused herself from Cam.

"I can go with you." Cam said. "Allison and Jesse are still 'busy'."

Vanna didn't want to tie anyone up unnecessarily.

"I was going to go alone." Vanna said.

Cam felt a little dejected. She didn't like being left out from what Vanna did.

"You don't want me to come?" Cam asked.

Vanna didn't want this to turn into a problem.

"That isn't it." Vanna said. "You know that."

Cam wanted a better explanation.

"What is it then?" Cam asked.

Vanna didn't want to get specific. She decided to keep her response in more general terms.

"I like to spend time alone with Precious." Vanna said. "She's so tiny and delicate."

Cam knew what the real issue was.

"You wish she was your own." Cam said.

Vanna looked at Cam and told her the truth.

"Yes." Vanna said. "I can pretend she is if I'm alone."

Cam didn't think that was a road Vanna should go down in that manner.

"That's hurting you more than it's helping." Cam said.

Vanna was more than a little upset. She was very defensive as well.

"What can I do?' Vanna asked. "I can't ask Savannah to give up her child and have to SEE it all the time with me and not with her. THAT would kill her. It would kill me if the roles were reversed. It would KILL me."

Cam didn't want Vanna to sell herself short.

"Savannah is stronger than you think." Cam said. "So are you, Vanna."

Vanna still wondered about why CamNet called them to 'visit' her. She wondered if it was a 'signal' for something. Would CamNet go around Cameron and the Resistance to do things for her and Allison? She was Savannah Weaver too. Savannah and her were the same person. She really wondered how responsive CamNet would be to her wishes and desires.

"I guess I have survived a lot of things that left a lot of other people dead." Vanna said.

Cam didn't want to be a problem. She still wanted to go with Vanna. There were other things that could happen when she was there.

"I can go into standby." Cam said.

That wasn't what Vanna wanted to happen. There were other places Cam could go and enjoy herself.

"That's no way to treat someone I love." Vanna said.

Vanna didn't want Cam to feel hurt or unwanted. She reached down and took Cam's hand.

"Let's go." Vanna said.

Cam smiled at her and they headed towards the 'nursery' after they threw some clothes on.

Impossible Already

In any group of people
One may catch an eye
Maybe there's nothing specific
They can't really say why

Everyone is happy
Things start off good
Everything seems to happen
The way it should

The momentum soon fades
One begins to coast
It's not too long
Before the other is toast

The road becomes rocky
There are a lot of bumps
One is only soon a place
Where the other one dumps

One is caught in an eddy
Everything is unsteady
What was once so easy
Has become impossible already

Nobody
