Hermione Granger's hair had always been more than a little sentient. It appeared that week sixteen of her pregnancy was going to be introducing a new, very unexpected, though not unwelcome symptom. While many women experienced thicker, shinier hair during pregnancy, Hermione's decided that it wanted to begin to move without prompting.

She was sitting in the library looking over another ritual to perform after Scorpius was born when she felt something tap at her shoulder. Assuming it was Theo, she ignored him in favour of finishing the paragraph she was on.

"Mi?" Ginny called absentmindedly from the doorway, "Merlin! Your hair!" she shouted

"What about it?" Hermione shrieked, throwing the book down and looking toward the door.

By this time Ginny had sprinted over, and Hermione could hear Theo running down the hall. "It's moving," Ginny said, in awe. "Are you feeling alright?"

Hermione looked to her right and noticed that her braids were in fact floating around her head. She reached up and touched the braid, which wrapped around her finger, in what she could only label as a loving manner. "I feel good, lighter than I have in ages, I feel like we finally have a plan for what's next and it's a bit, well liberating!"

Theo had made it to the doorway for her last statement and grinned at her, "Well I have a feeling that by this time next year we'll have Scorpius crawling around and Tharin will be kicking around inside of you and we'll be free of all the hubbub that involves the Dark Lord."

"I do hope so," Hermione said wistfully.

"I like the hair though," Theo said, "I hope it'll stay this way after Scorp is born, I'm just imagining all the things we could do with it…"
