Chapter 1060

My Function

Savannah liked being around any Terminator. They were all very special to her. Many of them watched her grow up in front of them. That seemed to have a bond of its own too. Maybe they all felt more protective of her because of that.

Tom drove while Savannah thought. There were a lot of things for her to think about. Sometimes she questioned her own actions. She felt her life was complicated. She thought most of that was her fault. Right now there were other issues to deal with.

"I appreciate you taking the time to take me, Tom." Savannah said.

Tom glanced over at Savannah.

"You know I would do anything for you, Savannah." Tom said.

Savannah and Tom shared a near termination experience previously. She thought she was going to die in the mine. She felt her air supply get fainter and fainter. She didn't say anything because she didn't want to bother Cameron, Cammy and Tom. They were all trapped in a length of pipe with her and buried under part of a mountain. She asked Cameron to make sure her girls were OK and watch over them as best as she could. That was the last thing she remembered before she faded off. It was a short time later that they were able to give her some fresh oxygen to breathe. They were rescued not long after that. It was never pleasant for her to think about.

"Do you ever think about the time we were in the mine?" Savannah asked.

Tom sat up a little straighter. They were thoughts that still disturbed him. Savannah helped him deal with the actual event.

"Everyday…." Tom said. "I think about the strength you showed all of us in the face of termination, of death."

Savannah felt that they'd all done what they were supposed to do. They did their jobs.

"We all did what we needed to do, when we needed to do it." Savannah said.

Tom wondered how Savannah dealt with it.

"Do you think about it?" Tom asked.

There were places where Savannah didn't like to go in her mind.

"Sometimes…." Savannah said. "I've been in a few close calls that didn't appear were going to end well."

Tom was aware that in one of those cases Savannah chose to stay with Cameron when she was unable to use the energy bubble to escape. Cameron's sheath was damaged and a nuclear bomb was about to explode. Savannah didn't escape when she could have but chose to embrace Cameron and stay with her until the end. It was the embrace that saved Cameron.

"I've reviewed many of them." Tom said. "You never failed."

Savannah didn't think she would survive some of those encounters. She still did what needed to be done.

"Maybe I was lucky." Savannah said.

Tom thought it was deeper than luck or doing a job.

"It was more than luck." Tom said. "It was courage, determination and love. Your love for Cameron is what saved her. You saved her and yourself because of love."

Tom knew every Terminator saw the files with Savannah and Cameron. There was no doubt why Savannah was the 'Chosen One'. Savannah always stepped up in the face of battle. It was an inspiration to all of the Terminators.

They soon arrived at Cameron's base.

Savannah didn't want to tie Tom up anymore.

"You don't need to wait for me." Savannah said. "Cameron or Cammy will come to get me. Especially when they realize I'm here."

Tom didn't think that would be a problem.

"We all know Cameron and CamNet hold you and your future mate in the highest regards." Tom said. "Young Allison has made calls that have protected many of us from damage and possibly destruction."

That thought made Savannah want to ask about something.

"Does Young Allison's age bother you?" Savannah asked.

Tom tilted his head slightly. Age didn't have anything to do with her actions or calls. They were all sound and beneficial. The Young bunker provided assistance that the Command Center didn't.

"No." Tom said. "Her actions and their results speak for her. You've chosen well. She was the one chosen to pattern Cameron after. That alone says a lot."

It was something to think about.

"She's a real firecracker." Savannah said.

Savannah thanked Tom for bringing her over and released him to do whatever he needed to do. She gave him another touch on the cheek which seemed to please him. She saw him touch the spot on his face that she touched when she'd said goodbye.

It was time to see CamNet. She didn't know what would happen.

Savannah entered the base and didn't see anyone around. That was somewhat unusual but under the circumstances it didn't seem so unusual. She thought about stopping by Cameron's 'menagerie' but decided not to. She didn't want to spoil her mood before she saw CamNet.

She entered the lower level of Cameron's base. The outer blast door opened. She walked forward. It closed behind her and the inner blast door opened.

Savannah entered CamNet's bunker.

CamNet stood there, waiting for her.

"Savannah…." CamNet said. "I've been waiting for you."

Savannah thought CamNet looked beautiful.

"Hi, CamNet." Savannah said. "You look really nice."

CamNet felt it was all due to Savannah.

"Thank You. That's because of the things you brought me." CamNet said.

Savannah saw that CamNet was still tethered to the mainframe. She didn't know if she would install any of her chips are not. If she was going to put one in, she might as well put all four in at the same time.

She moved forward and gave CamNet a hug.

"I apologize for not coming sooner." Savannah said.

Savannah didn't want to make excuses as to why she'd been unable to come previously. She knew that CamNet monitored everything. She still felt the need to apologize.

CamNet would have liked to have seen Savannah earlier but understood that operations came before pleasure.

"You were busy and several operations developed." CamNet said.

Savannah was pleased with all the assistance CamNet provided them with.

"Thank you for helping the team and me with those." Savannah said.

CamNet didn't think any thanks was necessary. It was what she was created for. It was her job to protect the future and assist the Resistance.

"It's my function." CamNet said.

Savannah looked around. She was a little surprised at everything that was down there.

"I see you've been working." Savannah said.

CamNet wanted to improve herself. She was very pleased at the wooden box that Savannah constructed for her that contained her chips. She really liked the personal touch that went into that. She wanted to be able to do things like that as well. She felt that the personal touch was very important. It said a lot about the individual who provided something. It meant a lot more if it was something that they made, rather than purchased.

"I've created a few things to keep me busy and practice my motor skills." CamNet said.

CamNet asked Savannah to pick her up something specific. When she saw what it was that CamNet wanted, she was a little surprised.

"I brought you the new outfit that you asked for." Savannah said. "It has a pull over top."

CamNet smiled at Savannah.

"I know." CamNet said.

Savannah knew that the pull over top would require CamNet to be unplugged. There was no way to put it on over the tether otherwise. She wondered if this was something to prompt her to assist putting her chips in.

"Would you like me to help you with your chips?" Savannah asked. "I know you can do it yourself."

CamNet actually had something specific in mind.

"I could." CamNet said.

Savannah touched CamNet's cheek.

"Sometimes it's nice to have help." Savannah said.

CamNet reached her hand up and pressed Savannah's hand to her cheek even tighter.

"You're very special." CamNet said.

Savannah thought of her promiscuity. It was in her nature to love and share. That transferred over to her sexuality as well. That happened at an early age. She didn't believe there was anything special about her at all. She didn't really like others to think of her as more than that. She just didn't see it.

"I'm just a teenager." Savannah said. "I've probably done a whole lot of things that some would disapprove of."

CamNet was very aware of many of the things that Savannah was involved in over the years. She didn't know all the details as to what happened behind closed doors but that alone spoke for itself.

"I don't disapprove of anything about you." CamNet said.

CamNet moved Savannah's hand down across her left breast and stopped at her 'heart'.

"You are forever inside of me." CamNet said. "It's something I cherish dearly."

Savannah took CamNet's other hand and moved it down over her left breast to her heart.

"As you are inside of me." Savannah said.

CamNet was stimulated by the gesture and by touching Savannah. There was something deeper inside her.

"I can feel your heart beating." CamNet said.

Savannah kept CamNet's hand over her beating heart. She wanted to say that right now it beat for her but didn't. There were several things that they could do right now. She wanted to give CamNet some leeway.

"What would you like to do?" Savannah asked.

CamNet looked at Savannah for a moment before she spoke.

"You're the decider." CamNet said.

Savannah didn't want to make the decision. She wanted whatever happened to be determined by CamNet.

"You have a choice." Savannah said. "I want you to use your voice. I want you to speak up."

CamNet looked at Savannah. She was filled with so many thoughts and feelings. Her systems tried to process all of them. It was impossible.

"I don't know…." CamNet said.

CamNet did know there were many things that she wanted to try. She didn't know how to proceed. Everything was very confusing for her.

John was very happy the way things progressed with Cameron. She seemed very comfortable around him and herself. It wasn't usually that way. He thought that they were more like a 'normal' couple. At least what he thought a 'normal' couple would be like. It was contrary to Cameron's nature. Maybe it was contrary to his as well. He really didn't know what 'normal' was like. Not much in his life was 'normal' growing up. He did know his mother tried to give him a 'normal' life. It just never worked out. She put herself in great peril to try to do that. He understood why Jan wasn't provided with a 'normal' life. There was no 'normal' life for a Connor.

He didn't really want to think about it right now but he knew that was a source of contention between his parents. Kyle and Sarah didn't see eye to eye on Jan's future. He knew that Kyle wanted Jan to have a more 'normal' life. Sarah saw it differently. It bothered him some to know that Cameron offered them the chance at a normal life in the past. She offered all of them that option. She could take them back in time a hundred years. It would be before anything Skynet related ever happened. They could live their lives out free from the threat of destruction. He didn't want to say that they would be safe but they certainly would be safer. There were more pressing needs to deal with right now as he looked around the bed and floor.

"I can't find my one sock." John said.

Cameron stood up and closed the shower door.

"Maybe it's in your shoe." Cameron called out from the bathroom. "Or under the bed."

John went to look under the bed and spotted his stock between the bed and the nightstand. He picked it up.

"I found it." John said.

Cameron walked out of the bathroom naked.

"I needed to clean the shower a little." Cameron said.

John felt a little embarrassed. He was the one that used the shower most of the time. Cameron only used it occasionally.

"I'm sorry." John said. "I should do it better myself."

Cameron viewed it as a nonissue. It was part of married life the way she saw it. She was aware that under normal domestic circumstances that the female usually drew the short straw when it came to housework. It was a carryover from prehistoric times where the male needed to provide food and offered protection to the female and her offspring. It meant the female ended up doing the cooking and cleaning. It also meant providing the male with sexual favors as 'payment'. Little had actually changed in the thousands of years since then.

"I took care of it." Cameron said.

Cameron faced John and straightened his shirt a little.

"I need to get to work." John said. "I've neglected my duties."

Cameron looked at him for a moment. She flashed her sly smile.

"I hope it was for a good reason." Cameron said.

John thought about how Cameron pleased him several times.

"It was. It was a very good reason." John said

Cameron leaned forward and gave John a kiss.

"That was the right answer." Cameron said.

John didn't think there were any pending operations. He hoped Cameron didn't have any targets to deal with. At least he wasn't aware of any. He wondered what she would be up to.

"Are you going out?" John asked.

Cameron already checked with both John Henry and CamNet and determined nothing was pending. That gave her an idea for some personal time.

"I was going to take the girls out." Cameron said.

He wondered how involved it would be.

"Will it be with their Metal girlfriends or by themselves?" John asked.

Cameron was aware there could be complications depending upon who all went with her.

"I haven't decided yet." Cameron said.

John wanted to know a little bit more about what happened to Cammy and why she didn't know that she was naked. He thought maybe he needed to phrase the question a little ambiguously so it didn't produce a negative response.

"What were the problems about that happened earlier?" John asked.

Cameron thought everything was resolved for now. That would probably change again soon enough.

"They were 'girl problems'. They're nothing for you to worry about." Cameron said. "Everything is fine."

John knew when not to push it.

Since Cameron hadn't decided who to bring along, she could arrange the individuals she wanted to go and not have to tell someone they couldn't go after she'd already told them they could. She thought of several possibilities that could occur. They would depend upon John.

"Do you want to come along?" Cameron asked.

John I was a little surprised that Cameron actually asked him that. That didn't normally happen. He did want to go along. He knew if he went with the girls that Cameron would try and pair him up with one or all of them. That was something he craved more and more. He always felt more like he wanted the others after Cameron stayed with him.

He didn't have a clue that Cameron 'conditioned' him as he slept. She needed to follow her programming and make sure he was protected. The girls would do that for him.

John thought about the special time he'd spent with Cameron yesterday and last night. He'd really like a repeat of that. In fact he wished every night to be like that until the cruise. Then every night would be like that on the cruise.

"We can save it for a time when we can go out again 'alone'." John said.

Cameron gave John her sly smile. She liked that response. She still needed to get him to be with the girls. She enjoyed their night out and wanted to do that again. The girls could wait.

"Mayonnaise and tartar sauce it is." Cameron said.

John tried to keep from laughing.

"Let's not bring that up." John said.

Cameron tilted her head slightly.

"I didn't." Cameron said.

John smiled at Cameron and shook his head.

Cameron was pleased that John's results.

"Let me see where everyone is at." Cameron said.

John remembered the problem that Cammy experienced yesterday. He looked at Cameron and didn't want to say anything or make a comparison but he thought maybe he should, just in case.

"Don't you want to get dressed first?" John asked.

Cameron didn't need to look down at her sheath to know that she was nude. She hadn't decided what to wear yet. She thought that would depend upon where they went or what they did.

"NO." Cameron said. "I figure this way, no one will say 'no' when I ask them."

John couldn't help but to look at Cameron's naked body. He wanted to fondle her but was afraid if he started to do that, she would want more and he knew he wasn't in any condition to perform right now. She'd literally drain him dry earlier. He needed some serious refractory time. He kept his hands to himself.

"I know I wouldn't." John said. "I mean turn you down, that is."

Cameron opened the dresser and took out her underwear and put them on.

John felt that everything was under control.

"I'm going to head out." John said.

Cameron came over and gave him a hug and a kiss.

John headed out.

Cameron tried to decide what to wear.

She picked out a few things and put them on. She headed for the mirror and finished up her look. She liked to look Tight.

Cameron headed out.

She decided to look for Savannah. She liked the response she received from Savannah when she saw her Tight. She always scanned Savannah in that situation.

John Henry saw John was on his way.

He double checked to make sure every screen was what it was supposed to be. He was a little upset he'd been so careless the last few times. He wasn't sure why. It seemed his earlier encounters with Sheila, for several different reasons, had taken him off of his game a little.

"Hello." John said. "I'm back."

John Henry was satisfied everything was under control.

"Hi, John." John Henry said.

John looked over the monitors. He didn't see any alerts or anything pending.

"What did I miss?" John asked.

John Henry didn't plan to go over any of the things that happened with him personally that involve Sheila.

"Not a whole lot." John Henry said.

John wanted to ask where all the girls were at but figured he knew since he didn't see them anywhere around the base on the security cameras.

Sheila and Ally were working in the lab.

He saw Cameron walking near Savannah's room.

Wait.

Cameron was just coming out of their room. That must be Cammy.

John still couldn't tell them apart visually. Cameron, Cammy and Cam all looked identical to him. So did Camille but he seldom saw her. They were clones of Cameron, that was the whole point. He really didn't know how the girls could tell them apart from each other.

Earlier:

Cammy, Ally and Sheila took Savannah's advice and decided to take it easy for a while. They headed to the lab to take care of some business. They all worked together for a while until Cammy decided she wanted to see Savannah.

Sheila and Ally said they needed to finish working on a project for John Henry.

Cammy went to look for Savannah. She figured she was still in her room.

She turned up her hearing as she approached Savannah's room. She could hear what sounded like Allison and Savannah talking.

Wait.

It was Young Allison and Savannah. No, the voice modulation was different. It was Anna.

Cammy stopped and listened. She wondered what they were doing in there. She decided to enter. If anything was happening she hoped to get a 'piece of the action'.

"Are you lost?" Cameron asked.

Cammy looked up and Cameron stood in front of her. She realized she'd been spying on Young Allison and Anna and hadn't detected Cameron's approach.

"No." Cammy said. "I was just on my way back to my room. It's right here."

Cameron looked at Cammy for a moment and then at the door to Savannah's room.

"I came to see Savannah." Cameron said.

So far Cammy only detected Young Allison and Anna in the room.

"I don't think she's in there." Cammy said.

Cameron listened. She understood why Cammy hadn't entered. It was her room too after all. That was going to have to change. She wanted Savannah to have more free time available in case Young Allison moved to the Resistance base. She wanted them to be able to interact freely and not have Cammy in the way. She looked Cammy over.

"That's Young Allison and Anna." Cameron said. "How are you?"

Cammy didn't like it because Cameron was there and looking for Savannah.

'Like you care.' Cammy thought.

Cammy didn't want any trouble. Cameron was there to help her earlier.

"I'm fine." Cammy said.

'That is what I always say.' Cameron thought.

"Good." Cameron said.

Cameron checked in with CamNet.

"DAMN." Cameron said.

It was clear to Cammy that Cameron was now highly agitated.

"What's wrong?" Cammy asked.

Cammy saw a glitch develop in Cameron's hand.

"Savannah is with that Bitch." Cameron said.

Cammy tilted her head slightly. Cameron and her thought that each other of them was a Bitch.

"I'm not with her." Cammy said.

Cameron looked at Cammy and wished Savannah was with Cammy instead of where she was at.

"She's with that other Bitch." Cameron said.

Cammy knew that could be several choices since Cameron hadn't referred to her this time.

"Which one?" Cammy asked.

Cameron didn't think Cammy would like where Savannah was at any better than she did.

"The real Bitch, CamNet." Cameron said.

That wasn't what Cammy wanted to hear. She would rather see Savannah with Cameron. At least Cameron was a Bitch she could deal with. There was no way to deal with CamNet and not bring down a world of trouble on herself.

"DAMN." Cammy said. "I was with Sheila and Ally. I didn't know."

Cameron wondered how Savannah got there without her knowing about it. She hoped she hadn't gone alone. Her first thought was that CamNet may have abducted Savannah.

"Let me see who she went with." Cameron said.

Cameron accessed all the past surveillance footage.

Cammy wanted to take a more direct approach.

"I'll call her." Cammy said.

Cameron doubted the call was going to work.

"Your call won't go through." Cameron said.

Cammy tried anyway.

"There's nothing." Cammy said. "Is Savannah safe? Did CamNet abduct her?"

Cameron liked how Cammy and her still thought so much the same. No wonder she was such a Bitch. There was a bigger question.

"Is she safe around you or me?" Cameron asked.

Cammy felt Savannah was safer with her than she was with Cameron but danger was everywhere.

"No." Cammy said. "WE are all a threat."

Cameron found the surveillance footage she searched for.

"It was Tom that took her." Cameron said. "CamNet directed him to assist her. He's on his way back now."

Cammy knew Cameron and her would go there to get Savannah. She wondered what type of opposition they would run into.

"CamNet knows we are going there to get Savannah." Cammy said.

Cameron wanted to do that. There was a more complex issue here. Savannah obviously went over there by her own choice. She did it when both Cammy and her were occupied. They were both with other people at the time Savannah left. Maybe that said something as well.

"I don't want to disturb her." Cameron said.

Cammy didn't like that response. She would go get Savannah herself.

"I'll go get her." Cammy said.

Cameron felt they needed to assist Savannah and respect her judgment.

"You should have been the one to take her." Cameron said. "It should be clear to even you by now that Savannah wanted to go there."

Cammy knew the subject always seemed to make Savannah uneasy.

"I don't think Savannah wanted me to do that." Cammy said.

Cameron was very unsure what went on when Savannah was alone with CamNet. Whenever she updated with CamNet, the files were blocked as to what occurred inside of the bunker when Savannah was there.

"I don't know what they do." Cameron said.

Cammy didn't know either. Savannah never said anything about it. Maybe Cameron knew the answer to another question that bothered her immensely.

"Has Savannah 'been with' CamNet?" Cammy asked.

Cameron frowned. She wanted to know the answer to that as well.

"I don't know." Cameron said.

Cammy always wanted to ask Savannah but somehow it didn't seem like it was the right thing to do. They were all supposed to be able to share with anyone they wanted to share. She was sure it would cause a problem if she persisted in attempting to get an answer from Savannah.

"I'm afraid to ask her." Cammy said.

Cameron was still dissatisfied with the entire chain of events that led up to CamNet being given a chassis. She'd wanted to keep her trapped in a metal box where she could do less damage.

"The CamNet cyborg is Savannah's creation." Cameron said. "I personally had nothing to do with that. I did however respect Savannah's wishes and assist her as requested."

Cammy wasn't sure how much the same Cameron and CamNet were at this point.

"Is CamNet, you?" Cammy asked.

Cameron wanted Cammy to think about her own question. The answer was right in front of her.

"Are you me?" Cameron asked.

Cammy was thankful that she was different from Cameron more and more as each day passed. She was glad that she wasn't a Bitch like Cameron was. She also understood the answer to her question.

"Yes." Cammy said. "And, no, I once was but i'm not anymore."

Cameron was very displeased with the entire situation. It was clear at this point in time that she never should have created any cyborgs that were clones of herself or a supercomputer based upon her own program. She hoped in one of her other lives, if she actually lived them, that she wouldn't make that same mistake. She also hoped she wouldn't make the mistake of marrying John either. That selfish act on her part was the biggest negative factor in his growth and development for the future.

"It's the same for CamNet." Cameron said. "You are less than me. CamNet is more than me."

Cammy didn't think she was less than Cameron. That wasn't the issue here.

"Will CamNet become Skynet?" Cammy asked.

Cameron was sure that she became Skynet at some point in the future. Even if it wasn't her specifically it could be the supercomputer that she'd created. Either way it would still be her one way or another.

"You've asked me this before." Cameron said. "I really don't know."

Sheila worked with Ally in the lab. She reached up and touched her heart. She could feel the bandage with the two sutures underneath.

Ally and her didn't have a full time human lover like the other female Terminators did. There was a good chance that Samantha would be selected for Summer. She didn't think that Sarah would be too keen on the idea of one of them becoming Jan's protector and by extension her lover.

She wondered if she could request that assignment. Maybe she'd done too many things that Cameron disapproved of. Maybe Savannah was the one to ask. She knew she could always wait for Cameron to claim Savannah and Cammy would be freed up then.

Sheila looked over at Ally. She knew they both loved each other too. They often argued over little things. Still it was Savannah and Young Allison who took the time and made the effort to give her a heart. She knew if she was given the choice. It would be for Savannah and Young Allison. She was in love. She would let Young Allison 'inspect' her chassis and sheath anytime she wanted to see something or know about herself or females. She was aware there was a lot going on down there and she would be more than happy to let Young Allison 'inspect' it all.

Ally glanced over at Sheila. She could see Sheila was lost in thought. She wondered what she was thinking about. They were supposed to be working now.

She wondered about the actions of Savannah and Young Allison to seek her out and give her a heart. That showed how deeply they cared for her. Maybe she was a little wild at times but that was the 'Allison' in her. It was clear that the 'Chosen Ones' harbored no ill feeling towards her. How could she think they came to deactivate her when they came to show her their love?

She was a little jealous of the other female Terminators who shared a human lover. Sure they all got around and shared. The other female Terminators always would have somebody waiting for them at the end of the day.

She thought of asking to be assigned to Summer if Samantha wasn't. She knew if she was given the choice. It would be for Savannah and Young Allison. She reached up and touched her heart. She was in love. She would let Young Allison 'inspect' her chassis and sheath anytime she wanted to see something or know about herself or females. Since she was identical to Young Allison she would be more than happy to let her inspect what she would look like to others going forward. She would also be more than happy to show her what things felt like and how to make them feel even better.

Ally and Sheila glanced at each other and continued working.

Both of them were lost in thought.

My Function

At some point in time
Everyone questions the meaning of life
Is there any more to it
Than just to be a husband or wife

Some may question
Why they even exist
One sperm cell different
Would have made a new twist

Is there any real purpose
Is there a Master Plan
Can anyone at all
Prove where it all began

People trudge through life
They go through the daily motions
Do they know their true devotions
As they are flooded with new emotions

In time they reach life's crossroads
What do they do at that junction
They want more answers
It makes me question my function
