1/2 for today!

After classes were finished for the afternoon, Hermione and her parents made their way to Diagon Alley for the robe fitting. Richard, ever the curious man, was consistently commenting on the differences between their Island and this one. Hermione had to hold back a couple of barks of laughter at his antics.

"It's so grey," he was saying to his wife. "I suppose I've gotten used to how colourful it is at home. Do promise me that you'll be introducing my grandson to colour, dove," he turned to Hermione.

"Oh yes, my husband tried to purchase neutral baby clothing, but I put my foot down. We will have an explosion of colour. It's good for a baby's eyes you know," Hermione chuckled.

They finally made it to a small shop that was tucked away in one of the offshoot alleys. Wawira greeted them with glee. "Oh my dears," she cooed, hugging both Jean and Richard tightly.

Jean started crying almost immediately. "Oh I've missed you Auntie! I didn't even realise how much until just now."

"Only happy tears," the old woman said, patting Jean's cheek. "Now I hear that my niece has some dresses for you to try?"

A joiner woman came out two masses of fabric floating behind her. Hermione clapped and Richard chuckled, finding his own seat. "Now, don't think we forgot about you," Wawira said, gesturing to Richard.

One of her nephews, who bore a striking resemblance to Kingsley came out with a suit. It was white with marigolds sewn into the fabric. The lining was sky blue.

Hermione grinned when she saw her mothers dress which was sky blue with marigolds covering almost every inch of space. It was flowy and loose from the hips down, with an off the shoulder neckline. Her parents would make a very big statement with their clothing.

Hermione's outfit was a one shoulder, mermaid style that accentuated her bump. The dark orange satin dress was rather simple, but the mermaid style bottom was made of cloth that looked reminiscent of papel picado.

Both Draco and Theo's suits were dark purple, with an orange papel picado handkerchief sticking out of their pockets. Hermione stared at herself in the mirror as the women pinned around her bump. She was astounded. She was glowing.

"We'll leave a bit of room for the baby here, but Auntie will be by that morning to finalise the stitches," one of the seamstresses said with a smile.

Hermione turned to her parents who were looking at her with awe. "I always thought we had the prettiest girl, Jeanie," Richard said, "but now everyone else will see it too."

Jean was weeping and used her elf to conjure a handkerchief. Hermione couldn't look at her Mum without crying so soon enough, both Granger girls were crying, wrapping their arms around each other.

"I'm glad you're here Mum," she whispered into Jean's short hair. "I was so worried I'd have to do this all without you."

"Couldn't keep us away if you tried," Richard said, resting his hand on Hermione's back.
