My last chapter before school starts. Hey, UknownHero here and a few days ago was my birthday. February 4th. I feel good going into this year. It's my last day of schooling before I go out and find a stable job and eventually find my own place, get a significant other and finally have kids. Okay, that was cheesy and that feels so much work but that's how I want to live my life, but through my writing I want to make people smile so…this account isn't going anywhere just yet.
Onto the revie. To Samuraidragonfrog: Well…you'll find out when we start hitting the romance flags in the shinobi's arcs.
And…that's it. Oh. Well, time to hype yourself up on too many energy drinks. Not that I've ever done so. I drink Coke Zero.
Load Game…Start!
Chapter 65: Catty Days
(6/27, Early Morning)
(Hebijo Academy, Elites Room)
It was another day in the wonderful school that is Hebijo Clandestine Girls' Academy after the smallest first year had returned...
"GAAAAAAAH!" Mirai wailed in pain. Her feet were tied to a pole over a fire, clad in nothing but her underwear as she forced her body up just to try and relieve herself from the heat, only to fall once more towards it.
"...I thought it was only Mirai's recordings..." Hikage bluntly got out.
"No, this is part of her new training regime for the next month." Imu however stated. "She had to work off that fat she gained over her unexcused trip." She then declared while adjusting her glasses in a smug manner and a smirk on her face.
"DAMMIT! I DIDN'T GAIN ANY WEIGHT YOU SADIST!" Mirai however declared in anger. "OH GOD AM I ON FIRE!?" She then asked in a panic while forcing herself away from the fire again.
"Don't worry! Yomi has a fire extinguisher!" Imu then informed.
"...This is a desk vacuum in the shape of a fire extinguisher." Yomi pointed out as she held up the tiny novelty toy.
"To suck up the fire." Imu explained off-handedly.
"That's...not how..." Yomi tried to point out, but was interrupted by her friend's screams of pain and suffering.
"DID SUZUNE-SENSEI APPROVE OF THIS!?" Mirai meanwhile cried out.
"Yes she did. This is apparently a very useful exercise according to her." Imu informed in a calm and collected manner.
"EXERCISE WHAT!?" Mirai however asked in disbelief.
"Stomach and back muscles." Imu got out with a shrug...before pulling out a bag of unpopped popcorn and slid it near the fire. "You have one hour left. You can do this, Mirai!" She then informed and encouraged.
"HELP MEEE!" Mirai cried out in pain.
"You sound...genuinely encouraging." Yomi hesitantly responded with a sweatdrop.
"...I do, don't I?" Imu admitted. "I don't know, I just feel like I can get along with her better. I get the feeling we know the same type of hurt." She then assumed.
"YOU DAMN SADIST! THIS IS WORSE THAN USUAL TRAINING!" Mirai accused before getting hit in the face by popcorn. "OW OW OW! HOT! HOT! OKAY, I THINK I'M DEFINITELY ON FIRE!" She yelped out.
"It's not my fault! It's what you get for only leaving a note! And getting caught!" Imu countered in disapproval while popping a piece of popcorn into her mouth. "...Needs salt and butter..." She then muttered to herself.
"...Well that last one is the number one rule of shinobi." Yomi admitted.
"Wait, I thought the number one rule was do whatever you can to piss off the goody two-shoes?" Hikage got out with a raised eyebrow before going back to her phone.
"...I'll have to reread the rulebook..." Imu muttered out. "And then get it revised..." She then added.
"You can do it Mirai-san, then you can enjoy a feast of beansprouts I'll prepare." Yomi meanwhile encouraged.
"I'M SORRYYYYY SUZUNE-SENSEI...!" Mirai however cried out.
"Oi Hikage, who are you even texting?" Imu soon enough questioned in annoyance while crossing her arms over her chest when she noticed the greenette.
"None of your business." Hikage responded in an annoyed and blunt manner as she went back to her phone. "Lucky, I wanna go to a spa now." She thought to herself while typing her thoughts down.
[Sweetkat06: Hehe, I'll take you to a salon or something sometime when you're around so we can relax Hikage-chan.]
[EmoSNAKE: Thanks. I'd like that Ann.]
[Sweetkat06: Great! Ah, gotta go, laters.]
[EmoSNAKE: See ya.]
Hikage then gave a soft smile as she resumed watching her fellow Elite going through her training. "She's right though, Imu is a sadist." She thought to herself as she then started browsing the internet.
"YEOW!" Mirai wailed in pain as the advisor flicked some popcorn at her face.
"Come on! Open your mouth! Work with me here!" Imu called out.
A distance away, Miyabi sighed as she walked away using her crutch to help her move. "Dammit, got to recover soon..." She grumbled in annoyance.
(Shibuya, Shin Megami Apartment Complex)
Asuka had been pacing around the apartment for what seemed like hours. She was cleaned, she was dressed, she had eaten and she was ready for school.
But her roommate was still missing.
"Homu-nee, come home already..." Asuka whispered out.
SLAM!
At that moment, a kimono wearing Homura, who had bags under her eyes, came into the apartment as she then yawned.
"H-Homu-nee?" Asuka got out in concern as she blinked to the sight.
"Hello, Sis." Homura greeted...right before her kimono vanished, leaving her in yesterday's clothes as she stumbled her way to the couch before she then flopped over the back of it. "Hoooo...that feels good..." She sighed out.
Asuka shook her head as she lifted her roommate up before placing properly down on the couch. "That's bad for your back." She soon informed.
"Sis, I've been running on sheer willpower for the last seven hours. Let me sleep." Homura begged as she tried to finally let the blissful embrace of unconsciousness take her but there was still enough coffee in her system to keep her awake.
"But...we have school in an hour from now." Asuka pointed out as she pulled out her and showed it to her roommate.
Homura blinked before letting out a groan. "...Oh right." She grumbled out. "...Is it healthier for me to skip school today?" She then asked before shaking her head. "Of course it isn't? I got duties to perform..." She soon muttered.
"Homu-nee, you look like you're going to collapse." Asuka however countered.
"No. I'm just gonna...power through it." Homura assured before proudly putting her hands on her hips. "I mean, this is nothing. Shinobi like us should be able to last a week without sleep. I'll be fine...my old clan made me do it too for training...it isn't a big deal..." She soon declared before she began to space out.
"H-Homu-nee?" Asuka squeaked out.
"Uuuuuhhhhhh..." Homura droned, drool starting to drip down her chin.
"HARISEN RECOVERY!" Asuka exclaimed in a panic as she pulled out her paper fan.
Smack!
"Huh? Wha?" Homura mumbled out before she started to frantically look around. "...Wait, where am I? I should be out with Yumi...senpai..." She began to panic only to slowly remember where she was. "I...I may need some coffee." She soon confessed.
"What were you doing all night to make you this way?" Asuka had to ask as she went to the kitchen to grab a pot.
"It was..." Homura hesitantly started, letting out a sigh. "...There were some kids who were ready to hang themselves, pulling out daggers to commit seppuku, running away or just...accept fate. Me and Yumi-senpai spent the entire night just...saving people and giving away both hope and money until we ran out. And even then there were still a lot of people left on the list..." She explained and revealed.
"Well...I'm glad you were able to help so much, even though I know you couldn't help everyone." Asuka got out with a kind smile, only to sniff the air and wince. "But you look and smell terrible though." She then confessed.
"I know. At least a dozen people told me that." Homura replied. "And at least 20 of them asked us for dates." She then sighed out.
"And you rejected them all?" Asuka guessed with a giggle.
"As politely as possible." Homura sighed out. "We had to go all around Tokyo on foot and let me tell you, that is not easy when it's one of the largest cities in the goddamn world. But...we did it. All the money's gone, and hopefully the victims will spread the word that Laneshiro is in custody." She then revealed and explained.
"Kaneshiro." Asuka corrected.
"I know what I said Sis." Homura giggled out before it turned into a whine. "...I wanna go to a spa again now to relax..." She then confessed.
"Well, we can do that after exams. We need to go to school." Asuka stated as she pulled her roommate off the couch.
"Y-Yeah. We should." Homura agreed with a nod. "We...We...Zzzz..." She then started before nodding off again while snoring.
"HARISEN-" Asuka began, the paper fan already prepared.
"I'M AWAKE, I'M AWAKE!" Homura however got out, snapping awake. "I was just...resting my eyes a little. Hey, if we go now we can get a seat on the train and finally sleep." She then got out and suggested.
"I'll prepare some coffee for you." Asuka offered as she went for the kitchen. "...I really should go to Boss again to learn more from him." She meanwhile thought.
"Thank you." Homura replied in a grateful manner. "You're so good to me even though-" She then started.
"You do deserve it though Homu-nee." Asuka however interrupted in a more serious tone. "Someone has to repay a guardian angel." She then added.
"Nah, I'm just someone doing the right thing for once." Homura however denied.
"Here Homu-nee, a thermos filled with my coffee." Asuka soon replied as she offered a red steel mug with a lid that twisted off.
"Oh yeah, that's the stuff." Homura sighed out. "Alright, quick shower and then we'll head for school. I'll pick up something on the way." She then decided.
"Okay. I'll go get your uniform while you shower." Asuka replied with a nod.
"Thanks, Sis." Homura responded with a smile. "Maybe a cold shower will keep me awake today..." She soon thought as she went into the bathroom.
"I really need to start buying coffee beans. All we buy is instant and no matter how hard I try it still tastes like dirt..." Asuka meanwhile muttered to herself as she cleaned the dishes before her eyes widened. "Wait, how's Yumi-chan doing!?" She soon questioned in concern.
(Shinjuku, New Moon Apartment Complex)
"I'm sorry, but I cannot attend school today." Yumi apologized over the phone. "I caught a really bad cold and I do not want to risk passing it on to the student body." She then explained.
"Thank you for informing the school of your absence Tsukikaze-san. We will get a classmate of yours to deliver your homework after school. Rest up and drink plenty of fluids."
"Thank you Principal Ikenami. Good-bye and have a good day." Yumi replied before hanging up and putting down her phone. "Ahhh...thank goodness he was understanding. . ." She soon breathed out before getting herself comfortable. "I hope Homura-san is resting up as well...though knowing Shujin's principal..." She then muttered in concern before resting her head against the pillow.
Oh well. She was sure her student in elegance was taking care of herself.
(6/27, Morning)
(Shujin Academy, Classroom)
Meanwhile, Homura was drinking a can of Monster Energy as the Thieves and a few students (and Mishima) stared in concern, fascination and horror.
"Guh!" Homura got out after finishing her fourth can, looking remarkably awake now. "Oh yeah! Let's learn bitches!" She then declared in a rather intense manner before going and taking a swig of coffee from her thermos. "Oh yeah...that's the stuff..." She breathed out while a shiver of energy ran through her body.
"...Drink coffee and energy drinks at the same time..." Akira muttered out, blinking as he watched the girl hype herself up way too much. "That's definitely not on the healthy side..." He then muttered as he could already feel his guardian's eye twitching as a result.
"I guess Lady Homura was out all night huh?" Morgana got out.
"She did." Asuka replied, unable to look away from this sorry sight. "She bought energy drinks on the way to school and she hasn't stopped drinking them since." She then informed.
"Erm, is she going to be okay?" Ann however asked.
"I AM, ANN!" Homura shouted out before coughing. "I mean, where's the teacher?" She soon asked.
As if she heard her, Miss Chouno walked into the room. "Alright, sorry I'm a little late. Settle down." She called out.
"I WILL NOT SETTLE DOWN!" Homura tried to scream, only for her roommate to cover her mouth.
"S-Sorry, Chouno-sensei! It...It's the heat and her will to learn!" Asuka nervously chuckled out as sweat ran down her forehead.
"It's so gross and humid, even though it's the end of June, so I guess I can understand..." Chouno complained. "Oh yeah. In Japan, when the rainy season ends, we say that it opens. But in English, it's more common to hear people say the rainy season closes. Be careful!" She then informed and advised.
"I never personally used it or heard it while in America but it sounds like something someone would say." Ann muttered out.
"Expressions for the weather are totally different depending on what country you're in. Now then...Mr. Kurusu!" Chouno called out, getting the boy to stand up. "In English, what does the term cat-and-dog weather refer to?" She soon questioned.
"Uh...Heavy rain?" Akira responded, albeit unsure.
"That's right! Raining cats and dogs. The strongest theory for its origin is that the sound of rain resembles that of dogs and cats fighting. Some other European languages describe bad weather as dog's weather, too." Chouno praised and revealed.
"English-speakers have the weirdest metaphors..." Homura muttered out.
"Ahem..." Ann quietly coughed out.
"Sorry Ann." Homura immediately apologized.
"Additionally, in Norwegian they say it's raining witches, and in Polish they say it's raining frogs." Chouno then revealed.
"Takamaki-san's Norwegian, right?"
"I thought she was Scottish."
"Idiot! Scot's have red hair."
"Dude, that's Irish. Or was that German?"
Ann could only silently face palm and shake her head. "Quarter American..." She muttered to herself.
"And apparently some people don't know anything about other countries..." Chouno deadpanned before sighing and continuing the lesson.
"Oh yeah, over here they say that when a cat washes its face, it rains. I clean my face every day because I like being clean, and lemme tell you, that's a load of bull." Morgana however remarked.
"I wonder if there is something that brings rain..." Akira had to wonder.
Meanwhile, in Kosei, Yusuke sneezed.
(6/27, After School)
(Shujin Academy, Classroom)
SNAP! SNAP! SNAP!
"Wakey wakey, Homura! School's over!" Akira called out as he snapped his fingers in front of the sleeping tan skinned girl's face. Her eyes were wide open, it was just that there was nothing going on behind them. "Uhh...Asuka's getting kidnapped. Asuka's getting harassed by a boy. Asuka's...picking her nose."
"Hey!" Asuka got out in an offended manner.
"Look, I'm running ideas here! We've been here for like 10 minutes doing this." Akira sighed out before looking at Ryuji, who sighed as well.
Asuka however sighed too as she went to her roommate. "Homu-nee, it's time to wake up." She softly informed in a motherly tone while lightly slapping her cheeks. "It's steak today~"
After a while, Homura stirred for a bit. "...SNORT! I'm up! Don't...!" She soon got out. "...Take it all...Oh God, what happened?"
"Well, as far as I know, you spent the entire school day as a zombie." Ryuji answered.
"Crap...I don't even remember most of the day..." Homura mumbled out in a sad tone.
"This is why I encourage a healthy sleep schedule." Morgana deadpanned before seeing the girl pull out yet another energy drink. "Wait, how many do you have?" He then asked.
"Don't worry, it was just a 12-pack." Homura reassured.
"Ok, that many energy drinks is going to cost you." Akira stated.
"Akira, my body can take a small beating. I'll return to my usual routine and diet once the day is done."
"You haven't eaten anything. Your diet has been nothing." Akira countered.
"Well, I don't feel hungry. Maybe I can go for something sugary today..." Homura resplied before realizing something. "Speaking of something sugary, where's Ann?" She eventually asked after noticing the ash blonde wasn't there.
"Oh, she went to see Shiho and maybe get a few lessons in self-defense." Akira answered.
"Wait, why would she-" Homura had to ask, only to remember what had happened some time before. "Oh, right. That shinobi that attacked me and Akira. We...We gotta deal with that soon, huh?" She quietly got out.
"Shit, nearly forgot 'bout that." Ryuji groaned out.
"We shouldn't be talking about that here though." Morgana pointed out in a serious tone. "They could be listening." He then reminded.
"Oh, shit. Yeah." Akira muttered out.
"Lady Homura." Morgana however started. "Are you sure you're okay?" He then asked.
"Yes. Most of the caffeine has worn off and I feel as good as new." Homura assured as she got up from her desk. "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to attend a committee meeting and then patrol the school." She then informed as she prepared herself to leave.
"Hold on there, Miss Overworkaholic." Ryuji got out as he stopped the girl from walking out of the room. "I think it'd be a lot better if you go and take a nap in the Nurse's Office. One of us can tell your team that you're not feelin' well, ya know?" He soon suggested and explained.
"Guys, I'm fine." Homura assured as she got up from her desk. "It's just one more hour and then I'll go ho- Oh shit!" She soon swore out as she almost tripped, but she managed to right herself before she could fall flat on her face. "I...That trip was on purpose. Gotta keep everyone on their toes!" She then stated.
"H-Homu-nee! Y-You really should be going straight home to rest!" Asuka however got out.
The tan skinned girl however sighed to that. "Sis, you know I'm on a tighter leash due to the principal," Homura however reminded while playfully rubbing her roommate's head. "Don't worry, I'll be fine. I'll see you at home." She then added in a softer tone before walking out of the classroom.
"Homu-nee..." Asuka muttered in growing worry.
"Damn that principal. He's pushing her just like Queen." Morgana however remarked while narrowing his eyes.
"That, and her own stubbornness." Akira added. "...1000 yen says she'll crash in about an hour from now." He suddenly stated.
"Dude, I'd say 30 minutes." Ryuji responded.
"Guys!" Asuka exclaimed while flailing her arms.
"Asuka, we're just as worried about her as you but there's not much we can do other than carrying her home once she's done." Akira however explained.
"And the betting with money?" Asuka then bluntly asked.
"It was a hypothetical bet. Plus, the way she was chugging drinks, that crash is going to happen very, very soon. Besides, I'm sure her committee would understand and cover for her." Akira soon explained before blinking. "You know, I kinda wanna see if they could gaslight the principal..." He then admitted.
"...Think we can do that? Because that sounds fun." Asuka however asked and confessed with a gleam in her eyes.
"Or we can prank the Principal Fat-O." Ryuji then suggested. "...Anyone know how to take the airbags out of a car?" He soon asked.
"Airbags?" Asuka however repeated in confusion.
"No killing. He deserves to be fired, no doubt, but he doesn't deserve to die." Akira replied. "We really need to find his distortion though..." He then added.
"I wasn't talking about that." Ryuji got out.
"Well it seemed like it." Akira simply replied.
"Uh, is someone gonna explain the airbag thing?" Asuka meanwhile asked in growing confusion.
"...You take his airbags out and hope he crashes?" Akira assumed.
"Dude, I'd thought you'd get it." Ryuji got out with a sweatdrop.
"I don't watch every movie." Akira deadpanned. "And...here's the thing...does Kobayakawa even have a car?" He then asked.
"..." To that, the dyed blond was struck silent.
"I'm going to Leblanc." Asuka soon decided as she began to leave the classroom. "Contact me if you figure something out." She then requested as she fully left.
"Will do, Vice Leader." Ryuji responded with a quick salute. "Welp, I gotta go do shit. We're gonna take care of Yamauchi soon?" He then asked.
"You know it." Akira replied with a smirk. "I better see if Yusuke's available...I can also get him to work on a new Skill Card." He soon thought and decided before heading out.
(Disciplinary Committee Board Room)
The committee members spilled into the room, ready to discuss and work together...
Hopefully.
"Ok everyone, give me your weekly reports." Homura instructed in a mature tone while taking a swig of the coffee her roommate prepared. "Mm, not bad." She mentally complimented, feeling somewhat energized as a result.
"Hai!" All the committee members replied in unison as they all handed the tan skinned girl some papers.
Nodding to this, Homura sat down at her desk as she began looking through all of them. "Thank you everyone, feel free to continue with your duties for now." She then requested.
"Yes ma'am!" The committee members replied as they started to head out.
"Hmm, I could hang out with one of my committee members today." Homura soon thought, remembering that all her friends were occupied at the moment.
The big question of the Disciplinary Head however was simple, who should she hang out with for the day since all her friends were busy?
(Courtyard)
Homura had decided to patrol the school by herself, swinging by the courtyard to grab herself a drink from the vending machine. "Ah..." She breathed out as she finished her Water of Rebirth. "That hit the spot. Definitely cleared up my mind." She then added.
"It's okay. I won't hurt you!" A familiar voice called out in reassurance.
"Kotegawa-san?" Homura thought as she noticed her committee member as she noticed the girl appearing as if she's reaching up into a tree for some reason.
"Meow~!" In the tree was an orange and white furred cat with a black collar around its neck.
"Here kitty kitty..." Yui softly got out, holding onto her umbrella in such a way so that she could clearly see the cat but not get wet. "Just climb down a little and I'll catch you." She then requested and informed.
"Hey." Homura soon greeted as she approached her committee member while also getting her umbrella out.
"Ah! S-Shinkukage-san!" Yui exclaimed. "I-I was just...erm...I-" She began stammered out.
Homura on the other hand just smiled and placed her free hand on her hips. "Don't panic. I saw what you were doing." She replied. "So, there's a cat stuck in that tree." She then stated while looking towards the tree.
"Y-Yes." Yui replied with a nod. "There's a collar on it so it's not a stray. I just want to return them to their owner." She then explained.
"Well, why not climb up there?" Homura however asked.
"I'm...I'm not that physically fit. Plus, given my luck I would flash my panties to some random boy..." Yui admitted and informed in an embarrassed tone, pulling down her skirt.
"But there's barely anyone here other than..." Homura pointed out. "Okay, let me go up there." She then requested.
"What? No, that's too dangerous. What happens if you fall?" Yui however got out and asked in concern.
"It's fine. I've done some tree climbing back in my day." Homura assured as she did some stretches before realising how she sounded. "Ugh...That made me sound a little old. Just give me a sec. And watch my back, I don't want the others seeing their Head do something dangerous." She then got out before running up the tree.
"Whoa." Yui couldn't help but say as she watched the girl climb up the tree with little difficulty.
Homura had a kind smile on her face as she got up to where the kitty and slowly approached it...even when it pounced onto her face and dug its claws into her skin.
"U-Uh...Homura-san?" Yui awkwardly started out of concern as the tan skinned girl carefully climbed down the tree with ease.
"It's okay. At least she's safe." Homura assured. "Now please get her off me because I think she's about to pee." She then requested.
Yui winced as she carefully pulled the cat off the tan skinned girl's face before letting her do her business. Afterwards, the two girls sat down at the tree while holding onto the cat, petting her to calm it down.
"So...you like cats." Homura stated with a smirk. "That's cute." She then quipped out in amusement.
Yui immediately blushed in response. "I've always liked them." She soon confessed. "If you saw my room, you'd think I own one." She then added.
"Wait, you don't have one already? Why don't you adopt one?" Homura had to ask as she petted the cat, who purred in response.
"Ah, I just don't think I'll be a good owner." Yui admitted with a sad smile on her face. "Given my path in life now, I wouldn't spend much time at home, even though I would love to one day." She then added.
"Huh? You wanted to become a shut-in?" Homura however asked with a raised eyebrow.
"What!? No no no, I mean like before a house...wife..." Yui stammered out before trailing off. Eventually, she let out a sigh as she looked up at the cloudy sky. "You know, helping cats down from trees...it makes me feel like a police officer. You know, the ones who would take the time out of their day to do something as small as this." She then confessed and explained.
Homura however immediately noticed her committee's expression change. "Kotegawa-san? You look sad." She soon called out in concern.
"Oh, it's just...um...sorry. Just thinking about my old home and my friends before I moved to Tokyo." Yui explained with a slight blush. "God, I even miss Risa-san's constant shameless acts since those were the most normal things that happened." She then admitted.
Homura meanwhile raised an eyebrow to that. "By shameless, do you mean like..." She then started before thinking about it as the blonde from Hanzō came to mind. "Groping other girls or something like that?" She soon guessed.
"With more exposing her panties." Yui sighed out. "One of these days I'll attend a school that requires shorts under skirts..." She then muttered.
"No kidding..." Homura replied with a nod. "Some men can truly be perverts..." She then added in disapproval.
"And women too." Yui pointed out, confusing the tan skinned girl. "Shamelessness isn't restricted by gender as I have discovered..." She soon got out as she shook her head. "A harem plan..." She then muttered to herself.
"What?" Homura got out, wondering if she heard that right.
"N-Nothing, I just..." Yui sputtered out before shaking her head. "...I have to visit Sainan over the summer." She soon whispered to herself.
"Sainan?" Homura repeated with a raised eyebrow.
"My old hometown, remember." Yui replied. "It's...really nothing special. I think the only thing anyone knows about it is that Magical Girl Kyoko is filmed there." She then informed, though uneasy as she said that.
"Magical Girl Kyoko..." Homura thought, making a mental note to watch it as curiosity was budding within her. "You really do miss that place, huh?" She soon guessed more then asked.
"More than you know." Yui replied in a nostalgic manner. "I'm going to go look for her owner now. I'll see you later, Shinkukage-san. And thank you for assisting me." She soon decided and thanked as she stood up and grabbed her umbrella.
"You're welcome, Kotegawa-san." Homura replied in a polite manner as she felt her bond with the girl grow stronger.
SHATTER!
RANK UP! Empress Rank 2!
"I wonder if I should tell her that Akira has a cat?" Homura soon thought to herself in amusement as she got to her feet before spotting the Student Council President walking through the courtyard. "Oh, hey! Senpai!" She soon greeted while approaching her friend.
"Homura-san. Did you just finish your patrol?" Makoto soon asked.
"Yup. Nothing happened." Homura responded before she noticed the duffle. "Heading for Protein Lovers?" She soon guessed.
Makoto in turn nodded to that and smiled. "Well I had finished with my duties for the day, so I felt I could use a workout now." She replied and explained. "Care to join me Homura-san?" She then offered.
"Sure!" Homura responded with a smirk.
THUD!
Only to crash to the ground.
"H-Homura-san!?" Makoto yelped out in panic.
"ZZZZZZ!" Homura snored out as she had been working near constantly for over 15 hours, and had been mostly living through it with coffee, energy drinks, stubbornness and willpower, and well...
It finally caught up to her.
(Yongen-Jaya, Leblanc)
DING!
"Ah Asuka-chan. Good afternoon." Sojiro greeted as he looked up from his crossword puzzle.
"Good afternoon Boss." Asuka greeted back. "I'm ready to work." She then informed.
This in turn caused the cafe owner to nod. "Alright, go change. Though, don't expect many customers today." Sojiro ordered and stated.
"Hai!" Asuka happily replied as she went for the bathroom. "I have to get better at this. And ask Boss about his coffee beans." She thought as she stripped off her school uniform.
Meanwhile, Sojiro went to the fridge to see what he had. "Jeez, I'll need to resupply." He muttered to himself.
Asuka soon came out of the bathroom in her work uniform as she pumped her fists. "Yosh, all set." She declared with determination.
"Alright, come over here and make a cup." Sojiro instructed. "I gotta go get some ingredients." He then informed.
"Hai, Boss!" Asuka replied with a salute before looking at the shelf of beans. "Now which one should I pick..." She soon thought as she looked through the assortment available to her.
DING!
After a while, the cafe owner returned with a few bags of groceries.
"Welcome back. Here you go, Boss." Asuka offered as she served the cup.
"You two really have to stop grabbing random beans from the shelf..." Sojiro remarked. "They're labelled, you know." He then informed as he placed the groceries in the fridge.
"Ehehe..." Asuka awkwardly giggled out as the cafe owner finished up, coming over to take a sip.
"This flavor..." Sojiro whispered to himself as he smacked his lips together. "Yep, that's Mocha Harrar." He then stated with a nod.
"Hm?" Asuka innocently hummed out with a tilt of her head.
"Let me explain." Sojiro soon started as he adjusted his glasses. "Ethiopian Mocha Harrar. Mocha is a port town in the Republic of Yemen, where both Yemeni coffee and Ethiopian Mocha Harrar are exported. Coffee from this region was given the moniker Mocha. Mocha coffee has a unique spicy flavor and a strong aroma with blackberry notes." He then revealed.
"I thought mocha was chocolate and coffee." Asuka thought as she took a sip of her coffee. "Mmmm...Oh yeah, that's what I've been missing..." She breathed out in satisfaction.
"Hmm," Sojiro hummed out. "It's getting there, but not quite. Some of the flavors are getting lost and you're still putting too much milk and sugar." He soon revealed.
"Ah." Asuka got out as she sweated a little. "Sorry Boss." She soon apologized.
"It's okay. You're improving with every cup." Sojiro replied. "You just need to keep at it to get better. So that means less milk and sugar." He then instructed.
"Hai, Boss." Asuka replied, making the mental note.
DING!
At that moment, an old woman came in.
"Welcome." Sojiro greeted.
"Good afternoon." Asuka also greeted as she bowed to the elder. "What would you like?" She soon asked.
"Aw, who's this adorable girl Sojiro-san?" The old woman asked as she pinched the teenage girl's cheeks while smiling. "Did you hire her from a maid cafe?" She then asked.
"W-Why would you assume..." Asuka stammered out with a blush before looking down. "Moh..." She mumbled with a puffed up cheek, much to the eldery woman's amusement.
"No. I did not, Sayuka-san." Sojiro however replied, though was amused by his employee's reaction. "Now, the usual?" He soon guessed.
"Yes, thank you." The elderly woman replied with a smile as she sat herself down in the booth.
"Alright. I'll take care of this. You mind cleaning the place?" Sojiro got out and requested as he began brewing the coffee.
"Hai." Asuka replied with a salute as she went and got the cleaning supplies.
"What a sweet girl Boss." Sayuka complimented.
"Yeah, she is." Sojiro replied as he watched the girl clean the other tables. "I wonder how she and the kid met..." He then thought to himself in a curious manner.
"I must say deary, that uniform is so adorable on you." Sakuya meanwhile informed.
"Lots of people tell me that, but thank you." Asuka replied with a smile.
Asuka proceeded to work really hard on cleaning the store, polishing tables and organising the kitchen a little bit. Sayaka-san had eventually left after finishing her coffee, leaving the owner and his employee alone.
"There. Sparkling clean and shiny." Asuka breathed out, feeling as though her Proficiency had improved a bit from cleaning as she looked around to see it was empty. "Boss was right though. It is slow today..." She then muttered to herself while stretching her limbs.
"Well, I don't think anyone else is coming." Sojiro soon deducted. "You can go home, Asuka-chan." He then informed.
"But I feel like I haven't earned my pay..." Asuka confessed in an uneasy tone.
"I could pay you less..." Sojiro jokingly suggested.
Asuka immediately waved a hand in front of her face. "No no no no! I-I'll take the usual pay!" She replied before she remembered something. "Oh Boss, I was wondering, where do you buy your coffee beans?" She soon asked.
"Trade secret." Sojiro simply replied. "I only source the best, and ethically made, coffee beans in Tokyo." He then informed.
"Aw..." Asuka whined out.
"But I do know a few good ones. They're all online though." Sojiro informed.
"I don't mind. Just let me buy some good coffee beans." Asuka requested before a different way to earn her pay came to mind. "Here, I'll prepare some sushi." She then offered as she made her way to the kitchen.
"Oh, Asuka Sushi." Sojiro replied in a curious manner.
"Any recommendations?" Asuka soon asked as she looked through what fish was available in the fridge. "Hmm, there's tuna, yellow-tail, and salmon." She then mentally listed off what fish was there as she got the sushi rice out. "Ah, I'll just make them all." She soon decided as she pulled out the fish.
"You making a platter or something?" Sojiro meanwhile asked. "It's getting late." He then reminded.
"I'm a fast sushi maker." Asuka replied with confidence as she got to work.
(6/27, Evening)
(Shibuya, Station Square)
Akira had just finished meeting up the fortune teller, Chihaya, heading home by changing stations when...
Bump!
"Ah, I'm so sor- Oh, Akira-san?" A familiar female voice apologized before turning to the boy.
"Ah, Yozakura-san." Akira greeted. "Bumping into each other yet again." He then added in amusement.
"Ehehe, yeah. Is that how you always meet people?" Yozakura replied in an awkward manner with a duffle bag over her shoulder as she giggled.
"No. I guess it's just you." Akira stated before spotting the duffle bag. "You just get out of the gym?" He soon asked in a curious manner.
"Oh, I was just actually heading there now." Yozakura confessed.
"It's kinda late to go to the gym." Akira pointed out.
"Well, the gym I go to is open 24/7 so I don't think so. Besides, I'm used to staying up late." Yozakura replied and revealed.
"...Protein Lovers?" Akira guessed.
Yozakura in turn blinked to that before smiling. "Why yes. You go there too?" She replied followed by the question.
"On occasion." Akira answered with a shrug.
"Well...would you like to join me?" Yozakura soon offered.
"Ah, I can't. I'm too tired. But I'd be happy to join you some other time." Akira replied as he shook his head. "Enjoy your workout though." He then encouraged.
"Thank you." Yozakura got out with a smile. "Ah, but I'm only here for two more days." She then informed.
"Tomorrow night then." Akira replied and decided.
"Deal." Yozakura replied as she brought up a fist, soon leading to the two fist bumping. "See you then." She then added with a smile.
"It's a date." Akira casually replied with a smile of his own before walking away from the girl.
"Hai...Wait what?" Yozakura began before fully realizing what the boy said as she watched him leave. "...Did I basically ask him out on a date!?" She soon thought in disbelief and realization as a scarlet blush came across her face. She rarely had a conversation with a boy, so did that actually count?
"I really need to hang out with Makoto tomorrow..." Akira meanwhile thought in an easy going manner as he headed to the station.
Well, tomorrow night would indeed be interesting to say the least.
(Shibuya, Shin Megami Apartment Complex)
The Shujin Student Council President had brought the Disciplinary Committee Head to her apartment as she got the exhausted girl into the futon after she got changed into her pajamas.
"Ehehe, thanks for helping me get home Makoto-senpai." Homura awkwardly got out while rubbing the back of her head.
"You're welcome. But you're really heavy, you know that?" Makoto replied and confessed.
"That's all muscle." Homura simply explained.
"...Most of it." Makoto couldn't help but add as she fixed her gaze downwards before sighing. "Jeez Homura-san, you should've said something if you were this tired." She then chided while offering her some tea.
"I couldn't. Too much stuff on my plate." Homura replied as she took and drank the tea before sighing in relief. "God, I feel terrible..." She soon confessed in shame. "Sorry I interrupted you going to the gym senpai." She then apologized.
"It's okay. Friends come first and we can always go tomorrow. We're not that busy anymore." Makoto stated in a comforting tone. "...What do you think of Akira-kun?" She suddenly asked.
"What?" Homura got out in confusion. "Where did this come from?" She then asked.
"Well, I've been mostly hanging out with you and the girls but I want to know the boys too and well...He's the most approachable out of everyone." Makoto replied and explained.
"They're all approachable, senpai. It's just that Yusuke's eccentric, Ryuji's kinda dumb and Akira...Akira's just weird." Homura stated before smiling deviously. "...You're not getting a crush on him or anything are you?" She then guessed with a giggle.
"W-What!?" Makoto exclaimed with a blush. "No! No! I mean, he is quite handsome in a way but I've only got to know him in the Metaverse just by watching him. I'd...I'd rather talk." She then explained.
"You just called him handsome." Homura however quipped out in amusement.
Makoto in turn blushed to that, but quickly shook it off. "Yeah, but Yusuke's handsome and Ryuji's handsome and I'm just making this worse, am I?" She then started before realizing what she was doing.
"You kinda are. And...I do admit the boys are good-looking compared to other students in Shujin." Homura admitted. "Morgana's just cute though." She then quickly added, though for some reason she could hear the not cat scream HEY! In the distance.
"I agree with that." Makoto replied in agreement. "...So about Akira-kun..." She once more started.
"Well, what can I say about him that he hasn't already shown you. He's...just a really good person." Homura answered. "Sure, he's a bit of an ass sometimes but he has a bleeding heart and would honestly go across the entire world if it meant protecting his friends. Plus...if he really put his mind to it, he would make an amazing shinobi." She then added and explained.
"Look, I'm sorry Homura-san but...a shinobi to me sounds like I'm signing up to die." Makoto confessed, albeit uneasy.
"I figured as much, I was just complimenting the fact that you had the skills to become one." Homura replied before glancing down. "I mean I can tell you would want a body like ours." She then added in a joking manner.
Makoto immediately became scarlet to that. "W-Well...the super strength and speed would be useful as a police officer or the like..." She stammered out as she unintentionally began rubbing her own chest. "And I would really like the boobs..." She then muttered.
"Hm~?" Homura got out, feigning ignorance as she resisted the urge to laugh upon hearing that.
"Nothing!" Makoto yelped out as she turned away from her friend. "I-I'll go and make us some dinner." She soon offered. "You rest until I return." She then instructed as she went to the kitchen.
"Okay, senpai." Homura replied with a nod. "Anything from your sister?" She soon asked with a frown.
"She hasn't called yet." Makoto responded. "She could be busy interrogating Kaneshiro. I don't know." She then added.
"...You think Kaneshiro will say anything about your involvement?" Homura then questioned out of concern.
"I don't know." Makoto responded once more. "But what do we do if my sister does somehow connect me to Kaneshiro?" She then asked in an uneasy tone.
"Well...lie." Homura got out as they both cringed. Was that the best she could think of? "Sorry, I honestly got nothing." She apologized and confessed.
"There's nothing to be ashamed about. It is a difficult situation." Makoto stated as she shook her head. "We'll think of something. Maybe not today, but soon."
"I guess that's a Phantom Thieves meeting topic." Homura mumbled out as she closed her eyes, only to open them when she heard the door open.
"Homu-nee! I'm back! And with the potential for Leblanc coffee at home!" Asuka called out, only to see who was cooking. "WAH! MAKOTO-CHAN!?" She soon exclaimed, confused and surprised to see the girl.
"You're really jumpy..." Makoto responded with a sweatdrop.
"...Did Homu-nee crash and burn?" Asuka soon asked with a puffed up cheek.
"Very, very hard." Makoto answered with a shake of her head.
Asuka in turn sighed to that. "I told her to not go to school today..." She then grumbled out. "She's getting a scolding." She soon declared.
"But you know the principal is holding the threat to expel both me and Akira if I perform well Sis!" Homura however called out.
"It's still quite neglectful. Plus, you drank way too many energy drinks today."
"Asuka-san, she's in the right."
"...I know, but I am sick and tired of Homu-nee trying to do stuff by herself. We could've covered for her for just long enough to take a nap. Now, if you'll excuse me, I am going to knock out Homu-nee so she can finally have goddamn good night's rest." Asuka stated in determination as stomped over to the bedroom.
But at that moment...
"ZZZZZZZ!" Homura snored out.
"...Nevermind." Asuka got out with a sweatdrop before narrowing her eyes. "Well, I guess I'll go ahead and eat wagyu beef by myself..." She then dramatically called out.
"No wait! I'm awake! I was faking it!" Homura exclaimed as she shot up from her futon, only to see her very unamused roommate. "...Oh no..." She muttered in realization.
Asuka in turn sighed to that. "Time for you to actually go to sleep, and learn the true meaning of friendship." She soon decided.
"Are you sure you two aren't already related?" Makoto meanwhile asked with a sweatdrop.
"It's sister-like!" Asuka and Homura called out in defensive manners before blinking.
"...Oh, wait, is that a jab at us or a genuine kind of thing?" Homura had to ask from the bedroom.
"Uh...genuine?" Makoto awkwardly replied.
"Oh." Asuka responded, blushing as a result. "Well, we aren't but uh...yeah..." She then got out. "Oh gosh, I don't really know how to respond to this..." She soon confessed.
"...I'm gonna go home now..." Makoto soon decided. "Have a good night...And stay home tomorrow Homura-san." She then requested.
"Um...I think that's not a choice..." Homura responded.
"No it isn't." Asuka replied. "You are staying home and if the principal tries anything..." She then started as a green gleam appeared in her eyes.
"Sis...kick him in his saggy nuts." Homura soon requested.
Asuka's face immediately became a vomit green to that, "Ack! Ew!" She declared in disgust. "Oh no...that image is in my head now..." She then groaned out as she clutched her head.
"I-I'm so sorry!" Homura exclaimed as she then tried to comfort her roommate.
"Homu-nee, stay in the futon!" Asuka ordered.
"Ack! Legs!" Homura winced.
THUD!
"Wah! Homu-nee!" Asuka yelped out.
The Shujin Student Council President meanwhile sweatdropped at the interaction. "...What type of friends have I made?" Makoto couldn't help but think.
"Ones to treasure for a lifetime." Johanna replied.
"I guess that's an apt description..." Makoto soon thought, unaware that she began to smile.
(Hotel Kusatori)
After her trip to the gym, Yozakura had returned to the hotel and gotten herself settled in, already changed into her pajamas as she was on the phone telling her friend about her upcoming plans.
"Oh, you are going to the gym tomorrow with Akira-kun?" Yumi asked over the phone. "That sounds lovely. I didn't think you would pick him for your first date Yozakura-san." She then added.
"I-It's not a date Yumi!" Yozakura squeaked out with a red blush on her face. "I-I just offered for him to go to the gym with me tomorrow night! That's all!" She then explained. "...Wait, who did you think I was going to ask for my first date?" She soon asked.
"Erm...In all honesty, I didn't think you would get a date. Period." Yumi admitted. "You always seem like you're married to the job." She then added.
"Huh!? I-I have a social life outside of my shinobi duties...I think." Yozakura responded, though was now starting to feel unsure about what she just said.
"That's what I thought too when I first started staying in Tokyo months ago." Yumi replied and confessed. "You need to expand your horizons and experience new things." She soon advised in a wise tone.
"You sound like Shiki when she tries to get me to do this leg day training." Yozakura grumbled out.
"Yozakura-san, you and I both know that Shiki-san suggests that to try and get out of shinobi training by getting you to rant all day about kicks." Yumi however reminded.
"They're unfeminine. You should know that given your shinobi outfit." Yozakura reminded.
"Speaking of which Yozakura-san, please don't go on one of your anti-kick tangents on Akira-kun tomorrow night since you two are going to the gym together to train." Yumi soon requested.
The bluenette however narrowed her eyes to that in annoyance. "I won't if he doesn't dare try and bring it up." Yozakura responded in a stubborn tone with a serious expression on her face. "But-" She then started.
"No buts missy." Yumi however interrupted, causing the bluenette to wince. "Now be sure to enjoy yourself on your date." She then requested.
"I-It's not a date!" Yozakura squeaked out once more in embarrassment with a scarlet blush gracing her face.
"Sure it isn't~" Yumi sang-sung in a teasing manner before hanging up.
"Yumi? Yumi!? Hello?" Yozakura soon called out before realizing her friend hung up on her end. "...I think I need to dress nicely for the workout tomorrow..." She then muttered.
(Hebijo Academy, Elite's Room)
The childish first-year was sitting in front of a vanity table as the bean sprout-obsessed blonde was hovering and examining her while the greenette was relaxing on the sofa after she had finished the day of training.
"Hai, there we go Mirai-san, trimmed off the burnt ends." Yomi happily informed as she placed the scissors down. "Well, there isn't much of a difference." She then added.
"I have third degree burns on my butt!" Mirai exclaimed.
"Good thing we got aloe." Hikage reminded while pointing to the fridge. "...Your butt is really soft." She then added.
"...Thank you?" Mirai awkwardly replied in confusion.
"You're welcome." Hikage casually replied.
"That was a great training session, Mirai-chan. I hope you're ready for tomorrow!"
"Tooooooo cruuuuuel..." Mirai groaned out in pain. "And I have to do that for the next month!? I'll die!" She then asked and declared.
"All shinobi dance between the line of life and death. This is nothing new in the Academy." Imu however reminded while narrowing her eyes. "Besides, it could be worse. You could've been given the training that involved running on a treadmill with an electrical wall to shock you if you stopped running while being binded from the waist to prevent you from escaping. Or the Sennen Goroshi training." She then listed off.
"Yeah yeah..." Hikage countered while rolling her eyes in obvious annoyance.
"Guys, we shouldn't be fighting like this. We have to work together." Yomi however reminded. "Suzune-sensei would be disappointed with our constant arguing." She then added.
"SHE STARTED IT!" Imu and Hikage called out as they pointed at each other.
"And you stop texting on your phone! It's rude!" Imu then demanded.
"And you stop trying to ruin our lives here for your twisted amusement. It's dumb and your only making more enemies." Hikage remarked.
"Now if you'll excuse me, Miyabi needs a bath."
"We're not here."
"Yes we are." Imu stated before shoving past the greenette.
"Witch." Hikage bluntly insulted before going back to her phone.
[EmoSNAKE: What's up Ann? Anything fun happening in Tokyo today?]
[Sweetkat06: Nothing much. How about you?]
[EmoSNAKE: Justufegshjbdfhvzjkulavgsdfjlhvkz;87uik,7u8ik925 890lop;.89025124f]
The message was interrupted when Imu had suddenly grabbed the phone and tossed it out the window. "Too much screen time is bad for you." She casually stated.
"And you're a sadist that just wants to make us miserable." Hikage declared.
"Well, maybe you should've remembered the shit you did to me. Now my job here is done, see you tomorrow." Imu replied with a satisfied smirk before leaving the room.
Surprisingly, Hikage growled in response as a purple aura started to form around her. "Gonna go get my phone back." She soon declared as she vanished in an instant.
"God that bitch..." Mirai meanwhile grumbled in growing anger.
"There there Mirai-san." Yomi got out in a comforting tone.
"MY SCREEN'S CRACKED!" They suddenly heard a furious Hikage roared from outside.
"Hikage-san really has been getting more emotions." Yomi soon stated with a sweatdrop.
"For better and for worse." Mirai added with her own sweatdrop as they then heard greenette roaring some more, now followed by swearing over the damage of her phone as a pillar of purple and black colored energy shot through the air.
Within the shadows, Suzune sighed to the interactions before melding with the darkness.
The things she does for this school...
(Asakusa, Daidōji's Room)
No one really enters Daidōji's room. It was rare for even Daidōji herself to spend more than a night's sleep in there since she traveled a lot.
Still, it contains so many of her best memories that she knew she couldn't stuff them all into her luggage.
"My old armor and wraps..." Daidōji whispered out as she pulled them out of her panty drawer. Their team had spent so much time and effort getting these and here they were laying on the bottom drawer, forgotten. She let out a sigh and put them back where they were.
If things went well, she wouldn't need them...not to mention they probably wouldn't fit her anymore.
Stupid freakish shinobi chest growth...
"Yosh, all set." Daidōji muttered with a nod of approval to her packed bags.
"Signs of Love overshadowed by dreams
Baby, don't worry coz you ain't alone~"
"I should really turn the volume down..." The buff woman sighed out as she picked up her phone and answered it. "Hello?" She soon asked over the phone.
"Oh thank god this number still works." A male voice got out in relief.
"...Leader." Daidōji replied, eyes slightly wide as she recognized the voice.
"Daidōji." The male voice responded. "It's been awhile. And I told you to stop calling me that." He then added and requested.
"It has. And sorry, Yu-kun." Daidōji replied and apologized. "Why are you calling me out of the blue while I'm preparing to head for Tokyo? Shouldn't you be preparing for the wedding?" She soon began to ask as her eyes widened. "Oh damn, did I miss it?" She then got out with worry.
"No no, not yet." Yu replied in amusement. "July 30th. Chie's taking the entire month to ensure the menu is perfect." He then revealed.
"...Aiya?" Daidōji guessed in amusement.
"Yeah, it's definitely going to Aiya." Yu replied with a chuckle.
"A girl's love of meat never dies, even after all these years..." Daidōji declared with a smirk.
"Hey, she's getting close to beating the challenge. I'll know she'll do it someday." Yu replied in reassurance. "So you're heading for Tokyo now?" He then asked.
"Yes." Daidōji responded in a serious tone. "There's just something there I can't ignore." She soon stated.
"The Phantom Thieves?" Yu guessed, knowing it was the current topic of interest.
"Yes." Daidōji responded with a nod. "And you know ShadOps are way too busy with the situation in Europe." She then stated with a frown.
"Yeah." Yu replied. "They told you to stay on standby right?" He then asked.
"I never even joined the Shadow Operatives in the first place, not unlike how Rin-senpai did." Daidōji however reminded.
"Yet you enjoyed sparring with Akihiko-san." Yu however remarked.
"How is he? The last time I heard about him was that he was in police training." Daidōji soon asked.
"I think he still is in-training." Yu revealed, though was unsure. "I'll have to call Yukari-san. You see she's still on TV? I thought they would've stopped the series by now." He then added.
"I guess that's the staying power of her acting and character." Daidōji soon got out. "Whenever we mention them, I can't help but remember the P-1 Grand Prix tournament..." She then added.
"Yeah, that had to be the second weirdest week I've had..." Yu confessed. "And the worst beating. I think I can still feel your fist in my face..." He then added.
"And I can feel Izanagi-no-Ookami shocking to near unconsciousness." Daidōji replied. "You were called the Siscon Kingpin..." She then got out with a slight giggle.
"It's Sister Complex Kingpin of Steel." Yu corrected in a serious tone. "And you were the Buff Big-Breasted Beauty of the Beatdown. Not as bad as Rin's title though..." He then counter-reminded.
"Touche, and I still have problems that you remember everyone's." Daidōji replied. "There's so much we need to catch up on..." She then lamented. "I mean, the other day I saw an advertisement for Teddie's glasses." She soon added.
"Yeah, I heard from Yosuke his online store's blowing up lately." Yu revealed. "To think the official Junes mascot is also an insanely hot glasses model and owner." He then added in amusement.
"He still doesn't have a chance with me or Rin-senpai." Daidōji countered in a deadpan tone.
"Oh hell yeah." Yu chuckled out. "Hey...after this year, I'm planning an Investigation Team reunion. Think you can get Rin onboard?" He then revealed and asked.
"Don't get your hopes up. You know what she's been doing after the Dancing All Night incident a couple years ago." Daidōji replied and reminded.
"You still got those moves?" Yu had to ask.
"A dance of death is never forgotten." Daidōji responded. "Anyways, I have to go. I need to organise where I'll live for the next few months." She then informed.
"Yeah. It was a good talk." Yu replied in agreement. "See you at the wedding?" he soon asked.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world." Daidōji responded with a nod. "And about time you two tied the knot." She then added in amusement.
"Thanks." Yu responded. "...So, when are-" He began to ask, however...
"Good night, Leader. Say hi to Nanako for me." Daidōji got out in a deadpan tone before hanging up. "As always, he can be a smart aleck..." She remarked in a nostalgic tone.
She would have to worry about that later, she had her own duties to perform.
