Chapter 1164
Maybe Tomorrow
Cameron was very pleased at the way everyone looked, especially the females. Everyone in their group was a total knockout.
She did notice John do a few double takes on Riley. She reminded herself that this Riley had nothing to do with John's past. She knew Future Riley didn't deserve all the blame for what occurred. John was a willing participant in everything that happened. She felt a glitch impulse start to build but she was able to suppress it. She was on vacation and planned to give John the best honeymoon ever.
John was somewhat in awe at how they all looked. He couldn't help but take a few extra looks at Riley. He also took a few extra looks at his mother. He'd never seen either of them even close to looking so good, ever.
"The girls are all picture perfect." John said.
Cameron could see it was true. She wanted everyone to look even better tomorrow. She wanted to see the men in their suits. She knew they were a little hesitant to do it previously. She believed after they took a look at the girls that all of them would be more compliant.
"Maybe tomorrow we'll all look even more picture perfect when everyone has their suit on." Cameron said. "It's something I want everyone to think about anyway."
Derek had been hesitant to wear a suit until he took a look at Riley. He planned to wear his. He owed Riley that based on the way she looked today. He figured he could do his part to look his best as well. It was only for a day anyway. Well, it wasn't even a day. It was just for a few hours. If he could face off against Skynet Terminators and HK drones. He could put a suit on and look nice for Riley.
"I'm going to wear mine tomorrow." Derek said.
Riley's face lit up when Derek said he would dress up. She was clearly pleased.
"Thank you, Derek. I think we'll look like a very nice couple." Riley said.
Kyle was going to wear his too but took a jab at Derek for the fun of it.
"That'll be a first." Kyle said.
Sarah flashed Kyle a dirty look and he didn't say anything else.
Cameron wanted to get the group on its way. She glanced over at Jim.
Jim nodded. He held the door to the corridor open for them.
Cameron wanted to keep the group together and she didn't want anyone to have an incident. She was mainly worried about Riley. She felt a little concern for Sarah but not as much. She wanted to make their route clear.
"We're going to use the elevator with our dresses on." Cameron said. "We need to walk to the back of the ship and catch the rear elevator down."
Riley was glad to hear that. She was already tired out from the stairs and walking earlier. She didn't want it to affect her performance in bed. She wanted to make up some of the 'lost time' of her pregnancy to Derek. She wanted to give him the maximum amount of pleasure. It was going to require her being on top. She was aware that Derek liked it when she was on top. She seldom had been the last few years. She could tell she needed to increase her daily PT.
"The elevator is fine with me." Riley said. "I'm really out of shape."
Derek reached down and squeezed Riley's rear end. He noticed right away she didn't have any underwear on.
"Your shape looks pretty good to me." Derek said. "I see everything's good to go."
Riley playfully slapped his hand away. She was glad she'd listened to Sheila earlier and asked her to remove her underwear for her.
"Save it for later." Riley said. "There's more where that came from."
Derek planned to take her up on her offer. He also liked how smooth everything was where his hand just touched.
John looked at his mother. He figured it was probably a safer bet right now than taking another look at Riley. He was really impressed at how his mother looked. He always liked the fact his mother stayed trim and fit. He found her body type very appealing. There were times when he was younger when he fantasized about being with his mother. He always secretly hoped she would stop by his bedroom one night and share with him. He quickly looked around. He needed to clear his head. Where did those thoughts come from? He thought he'd long ago purged those thoughts. There was no denying the fact that his mother was highly attractive.
"Mom, I do have to say you can still pull it off." John said. "You're beautiful."
Sarah smiled at John and touched his cheek. She appreciated the comment from her son. It wasn't one she heard much from anyone anymore. She saw what she looked like in the mirror before she left her suite. She may not be as young as she once was but she could see her beauty was still intact. There was no way around the multitude of scars on her body. She was very grateful there were none on her face.
"You're now my favorite son." Sarah said.
John appreciated what she said. There was one major drawback in her line of thought. He pointed out the obvious.
"I'm your only son." John said.
Sarah played it up. She wanted to keep the mood light and joyful.
"Then you should be really glad you're my favorite son." Sarah said.
Everyone laughed.
Cameron wanted to get things moving. They moved away from the private area. John and her moved ahead of the others.
The Reese brothers talked with Sarah and Riley. There were smiles and head nodding. They discussed doubling up to free up a giant suite so more of the group could come on board. They all regretted not having made the decision earlier before the ship left port. A few more could have come along. It was a little too late to worry about it.
Derek noticed Riley was a little high strung. She seemed as fidgety as she looked beautiful.
"Is everything alright?" Derek asked.
Riley didn't want to make a big deal about anything. She wished her apprehension wouldn't have been so obvious. She wanted an update on Precious.
"I need to call Vanna before we go into the dining room." Riley said. "I want to check on Precious."
Derek was a little worried too but knew Precious was in good hands. He didn't think there was anything to worry about. He did want Riley to calm down.
"Precious is fine." Derek said. "We'll both say, 'Hi', if she's awake."
Riley felt bad about calling Vanna so often. She'd done so every couple of hours since they'd been on the ship. She didn't want her concern and apprehension to cause a problem for anyone else. She was afraid it might.
"I've called Vanna three times already." Riley said. "She's going to think I don't trust her."
Cameron and John pulled slightly ahead of the others as they discussed their ideas about the rooms and Precious. They reached the rear elevators.
John looked back on the lagging group. He wanted everyone to stay together as a group. He was unaware of their personal discussions.
"Hustle up." John said.
The other four moved a little quicker.
Sarah didn't want to spoil the mood for anyone.
"I'm sorry." Sarah said.
She didn't think John would say anything further if she accepted the responsibility for everyone lagging behind. He didn't.
The six of them all entered the elevator.
John was a little worried about his previous comment. He wanted to try to put a light note on everything.
"Someone needs to say it, 'going down'. We all know it is going to happen later on." John said as he pushed the button.
Everyone looked at each other and tried not to laugh. It was something each of the couples looked forward to.
The elevator doors closed.
Cammy was with Cam and Savannah. She moved her team into viewing distance of the man they suspected of making the call to the homeless men. They still didn't have any proof he was the man they were after. Only his suspicious behavior of looking around for a tail or some other type of trouble clued them in.
"We have eyes on the target." Cammy said.
Savannah wanted some more facts before they acted. She didn't want any of the Terminators to act harshly before they knew a little more. She wanted to remind them exactly what it was they knew. It wasn't much.
"They're a suspect for now." Savannah said. "We need to see how things play out a little bit first."
Cammy looked at Savannah but didn't comment further. She wanted to put the grab on any of the three men and beat the information out of them.
John Henry didn't want them to get ahead of themselves either. He was pleased with Savannah's moderation.
"That's good." John Henry said. "I don't think it will hurt to wait a little longer."
Cam wanted to get the ball rolling. She was ready to beat a confession, or any information, out of their current target.
"I'll track him on foot." Cam said. "I'll make him talk."
Savannah felt more caution should be used. She needed to remember there were two of 'Cameron' with her now, even if they weren't. The very nature of the operation seemed to include a certain amount of subterfuge. The earlier deception by the two homeless men inside of the port facility needed to be considered.
"Not yet." Savannah said. "We need to make sure we're not being set up."
John Henry wanted to reassure them the suspect was under surveillance.
"Savannah has a point." John Henry said. "I have him locked up with a drone."
Savannah wanted more information. She didn't think the homeless men or the new man were their only targets. Most of all, she didn't want anyone in their group to become a target.
"Is there anything else happening around him?" Savannah asked.
John Henry knew he wasn't the only one checking. So far none of the others assisting him had spotted anything either.
"Not yet." John Henry said.
Savannah was sure they must have missed something. There weren't enough pieces of the puzzle to put it together yet.
"Look for a car. He may be headed to one or someone may come to pick them up. They could have been let off earlier." Savannah said. "I have a bad feeling about it."
Cammy and Cam looked at each other. If Savannah was worried about it enough to say it, it wasn't good. All of the Terminators learned to listen to human intuition. It proved beneficial on multiple occasions. They normally dealt with what they could see or what they perceived as facts. Humans were better at observing the abstract and making conclusions that were based upon 'feeling' rather than fact.
John Henry understood and heeded Savannah's warning as well. He would have liked for one of the humans to be there with him but they were all elsewhere now. He was assisted by Summer until a few minutes ago. He really appreciated her insight and suggestions.
"I'm increasing the search parameters." John Henry said.
Cammy was glad Cam joined their team earlier. It would allow her to stay with Savannah if Cam went out on her own to investigate further. She would have needed to have done it herself otherwise. She knew Savannah would have gone with her as well.
"I'll remain with Savannah at all times." Cammy said.
Savannah appreciated Cammy's devotion. She really thought the situation would determine what was necessary. There was no way to know at this point in time what would happen or what could develop.
"I like the idea but the situation may develop to a point where we all might need to act on our own." Savannah said. "The mission comes first for all of us. That includes me."
Savannah was willing to do what it took, no matter what it was. There were times when she would need to operate on her own. She'd done so previously. Some of those occasions didn't sit well with her. She was sure she was going to die on more than one of them. She didn't. She made it through whatever the challenge was. It was also a sobering fact to remember there was usually a Terminator that arrived to assist her.
Dan and Frank listened to Savannah's concerns. It seemed to them the time for waiting was over. It was time they acted.
"I think we need to take these two homeless men down and get some information." Dan said.
Frank didn't care for the lack of knowledge.
"There are too many questions coming up." Frank said. "We need some answers."
John Henry picked up on their concern. He didn't want them to jump the gun.
"I'm looking for any suspicious vehicles." John Henry said.
Frank and Dan continuously checked everything around them. They were very mindful of Savannah's concerns.
"We are too." Frank said. "Nothing out of the ordinary has been spotted."
John Henry currently followed the homeless men's progress with a drone.
"Don't do anything yet." John Henry said. "They look like they're headed somewhere."
When Dan spoke, everyone was aware he wasn't joking.
"I think it will be the cemetery." Dan said.
Dan and Frank looked at each other and nodded. They wanted to deal with any threats head on. It was a Terminator thing. They continuously checked around them for anything that might lead them into an ambush.
Young Allison and Anna searched everything with CamNet. They checked the area surrounding the two homeless men as well as the man suspected of using the pay phone. They were unable to spot anything out of the ordinary.
"Savannah is expecting something to happen." Young Allison said. "It won't be anything good either."
Anna didn't know what exactly Savannah expected to happen.
"What is it?" Anna asked.
Young Allison was sure the next phase of the operation would involve vehicles. The homeless men, if they were actually homeless, most likely arrived on foot. It was doubtful the man suspected of using the pay phone did. He more than likely had at least one accomplice.
"I don't know. Have CamNet check any suspicious vehicles around either of our teams and their targets." Young Allison said. "Look for the same vehicles circling the area or stopping and starting for no reason. Look for any vehicles with people sitting in them, especially a group of people."
CamNet sent updated information. It appeared she may have found a match.
"I have something." Anna said. "CamNet is overlaying it."
New images from the drones were overlaid on satellite maps. It provided them with an up to date picture of what was happening.
"I see that's the area where everyone is at." Young Allison said.
Anna indicated a vehicle as well as additional suspicious activity by the two homeless men.
"There's a brown van that's been around the two homeless men since the phone call." Anna said. "The two homeless men are looking around more too."
Young Allison saw it as the catalyst.
"Alert Frank and Dan at once of the new threat." Young Allison said. "Notify John Henry about what CamNet is doing. Have her share all information about the operation in real time, no matter how insignificant."
Anna wondered what the brown van was waiting for. It appeared it could intercept the men in at any point in time.
"If they're circling the homeless men, why haven't they made contact?" Anna asked.
Young Allison believed the homeless men and the man from the pay phone were bait. They were patsies being set up to be sacrificed. She understood Savannah felt the same thing earlier.
"It's what Savannah thinks. They're being set up." Young Allison said. "I'm willing to bet the man Cammy's team is watching is a stooge and he is being targeted now as well. I think he's a junkie. He's doing it for his fix. His paranoid related behavior is more than just looking for a tail."
Young Allison's proclamation added a new layer to the mystery.
Anna realized if the two different groups were being used as sacrificial lambs, there was someone with a little more sophistication who was behind everything and pulling the strings.
"It means someone else is behind all of this." Anna said. "It clearly indicates the nature of the threat."
Young Allison saw it for a deeper threat. Their teams had tracked the homeless man for quite some time. They also currently tracked the man who used the payphone. If the real perpetrator had eyes on any of the patsies, they most likely had eyes on some of their team.
"If the people our teams are following have been identified, it means our teams are targets now as well." Young Allison said.
Anna wanted everyone to understand the possible nature of the threat.
"CamNet has issued a warning." Anna said.
Young Allison didn't want to be like the boy who cried wolf. She was sure of what her gut told her. So far there were no facts to back it up, other than the suspicious brown van that'd been detected
"Remember, it's all still mostly speculation." Young Allison said.
Anna thought there was a little less speculation now. A new discovery had been made.
"CamNet has identified a blue import circling the area around the man Cammy's team is after." Anna said.
It was what Young Allison suspected.
Young Allison wasn't going to take any chances. There was a real threat now to two of their teams.
"I want the drones hot for an immediate missile strike." Young Allison said.
Anna wanted Young Allison to use discretion. She thought they also needed to consider any collateral damage.
"It's not fully dark yet." Anna said. "CamNet has all the drones hot. The targets are locked. The drones have all dropped down to twenty thousand feet. The air space is clear."
Young Allison didn't feel she was pushing anything.
"Have CamNet warn Savannah and her team and inform her of what I've done." Young Allison said. "I want everyone on the same page."
Anna made sure John Henry was kept in the loop. He'd acted in conjunction with CamNet.
"John Henry is doing it now." Anna said. "Dan and Frank have been notified as well. CamNet has sent them all footage of the two suspect vehicles."
Young Allison looked at the images. It appeared to her that they were neither from the Syndicate or related to any of the various groups from the future. There was a totally different 'look' to them. She knew what that 'look' was. She'd followed as many of Cameron's 'off the books' operations and she was allowed to follow. It wasn't all of them. It was enough to lay down a baseline.
"I think at least one vehicle may be gang related." Young Allison said.
Anna knew it meant 'hired help'. It was something they didn't often run into when they dealt with groups from the future. It was possible they could be associated with the Syndicate. The Syndicate lost a number of individuals over the last few days as they inadvertently became entwined with Resistance matters.
"Do you think they were recruited by someone?" Anna asked.
Young Allison looked at the two suspect vehicles in detail. She looked at the occupants too.
"The vehicle around Cammy's team seems to be out of place in that neighborhood." Young Allison said.
Anna looked at the same images that Young Allison did. She wondered if Young Allison had taken things a step further based upon appearance.
"Are you 'racial profiling'?" Anna asked.
Young Allison didn't like the implication. She saw it a little differently. She knew it was a common complaint at the airport. Most hijackers were not ninety three year old great grandmothers in wheelchairs. Past practice and common sense were not 'racial profiling'. She did know stereotypes were more generalities than a rule. Unfortunately the reason why there were stereotypes was because of past experience based upon certain individuals within certain groups. They'd created a bad track record for the individuals that followed them.
"It's called common sense." Young Allison said. "When something looks out of place and looks suspicious, it deserves a closer look."
Anna wanted to make things clear. She didn't want Young Allison to get ahead of herself.
"Does a closer look mean a missile strike?" Anna asked.
Young Allison wanted a trigger on the assailant's part. If it appeared there was going to be some type of confrontation, she wanted to draw first blood. She wanted to act before any of their team became an immediate target.
"If weapons are observed it does." Young Allison said. "Notify CamNet of a new protocol on this operation."
Anna wanted Young Allison to use moderation. CamNet was going to act on Young Allison's suggestion as soon as anything threatening was identified.
"It may be too extreme." Anna said. "You need to narrow the attack parameters. Any carload of gang members will become a target."
Young Allison wasn't so sure it was a bad idea. She understood Cameron's concern that many of them would become future Scavengers anyway. In this case, she didn't want to risk any the teams. She wanted to make her position perfectly clear. She wasn't going to play 'wait and see' and find out the hard way. She wanted to make sure the missiles would track true and arrive quickly at their targets. She didn't want them identified as missiles before the actual impact.
"If they're within two blocks of our teams and any weapons are visible in either of those vehicles, CamNet is authorized to fire a missile at either of the two suspect vehicles. The missiles will stop their burn at five thousand feet."
Anna pointed out some other variables. Young Allison's response needed moderation at every level. There were still a multitude of variables that could occur.
"What if they move to attack only the people we have under surveillance?" Anna asked.
Young Allison placed their team first. She wanted to make it clear to CamNet.
"A missile strike is only to protect our personnel." Young Allison said. "We still don't know if either of the two targets Cammy's and Dan's team are tracking are bait or 'patsies'."
Anna was aware John Henry took an additional precaution.
"John Henry has told both our teams to hold and not approach the targets they're tracking." Anna said.
Young Allison didn't like the waiting game. The operation seemed to be full of them. The fact there were two suspect vehicles tracking the two groups of suspicious men only further indicated the heightened danger their teams could possibly face.
"We wait now and see what develops." Young Allison said.
Young Allison wanted the darkness to come. She wanted some drones in closer. It would give her more options. She also began to contemplate what other options were available to her based upon what they currently witnessed, which of those options would provide the least threat to their troops.
Allison went to Riley's room, the door was open. She softly knocked twice and walked in the open door. Vanna stood there holding Precious.
Vanna was clearly pleased to see Allison.
"Hello, sweet love." Vanna said.
Allison saw a look of relief on Vanna's face when she saw her.
"Hello, Vanna." Allison said.
Allison moved up and gave Vanna a kiss.
Vanna deepened the kiss once Allison started. It excited her to know Allison was recently with Jesse. It meant she would still be aroused.
Allison wanted to make everything clear to Vanna.
"I was with Jesse earlier." Allison said.
Vanna hoped a few more things could spring out of it
"I know." Vanna said. "Will she stop by?"
Allison felt a little self conscious. She still felt bad she hadn't fully delivered for Jesse. It bothered her more than a little because Jesse needed to finish herself off. Jesse left her behind and went off in search of her mother instead.
"I doubt it. She went off to find a better lover." Allison said.
Vanna didn't like Allison to think like that. She offered Precious to Allison to redirect her thoughts.
Allison took Precious from Vanna.
Vanna was aware the only other choice currently at the base was Claire. It was clear Allison wasn't happy about being 'replaced' by her mother. She wondered what other factors were involved in the recent encounter.
"Was there some problem?" Vanna asked.
Allison told it to Vanna straight. She felt it was embarrassing no matter how it was looked at.
"I couldn't get her 'there'. She needed to finish herself." Allison said. "She got me there a few times. I feel like I let her down."
Vanna didn't think Allison should worry about it.
"You can make it up to her another time or we both can." Vanna said.
Jesse told Vanna before she wanted to be with Claire and Allison at the same time. Vanna wanted the same thing too but didn't think it was going to ever happen.
Allison thought Vanna would be able to get Jesse there, even if she couldn't. She knew from first hand experience Vanna stayed with it until it was 'mission accomplished'.
"Maybe we both can." Allison said. "We haven't done that in awhile. At least I haven't."
Vanna knew that Allison's choices were limited when she was in Palmdale. She still thought there were some options open to them currently.
"With the Metal girls out, maybe we can all get together." Vanna said.
Vanna would really like a four way with Claire as part of the mix. It would still give Allison two other choices if she didn't want to take any further action. She really wanted Allison to ask her if she meant the four of them but she didn't. She wasn't sure how far Allison would actually go.
Allison was aware there were still a few Metal girls in play.
"What about Cam?" Allison asked.
Vanna didn't know the scope of Cam's involvement in the growing operation. She still thought they were only doing recon. She hadn't followed up on what the current level of activity was.
"Jesse and Claire might want to spend some time with her." Vanna said. "Savannah and Cammy should be back unless they're going to see Young Allison again."
Vanna could see Allison wanted to spend some time with Savannah. She couldn't blame her. Vanna didn't see how she could compete with the younger and hotter version of 'herself'. It also made her think of her earlier conversation with Young Allison. A lot was said without anything actually being said.
Vanna thought of all possible combinations.
Allison thought of Vanna. Right now it was about her personal feelings.
"I want to spend time with you, Vanna." Allison said. "You're my true love."
Vanna moved forward this time and kissed Allison.
"You are too, Allison." Vanna said. "You're my true love."
Allison looked at Precious. She didn't really know what to feel. They were only there to help. They were there to assist by necessity. It wasn't like they were trying to be invasive.
"Here we stand with another couple's baby." Allison said.
Vanna looked at Allison as she held Precious. She really hoped one day soon it would be Allison with her baby, their baby.
"One day it will be with one of our own." Vanna said. "I know it will be."
The thought only seemed to discourage Allison, not make her feel happier.
"Sure, Vanna, maybe one day it will be our baby." Allison said.
Allison doubted it would be her baby.
Vanna wanted to change the subject slightly.
"Riley called a few times to see how Precious was doing earlier." Vanna said. "She was asleep every time."
Allison strongly doubted Riley was done calling for the evening.
"Maybe she'll call again." Allison said.
Vanna understood Riley's concerns.
"I know she's worried about being away." Vanna said. "I would be too."
Allison didn't see it as a problem for being away for only two days. She wondered if Vanna encountered any problems or difficulties.
"How's it gone so far?" Allison asked.
Vanna looked at Allison. She decided to tell her the truth.
"I've been bored to death most of the time I've been here." Vanna said. "I know it will be more work when Precious gets a little bigger. Now she sleeps a lot. Samantha has helped Riley get Precious into a good pattern. There is very little for me to do."
Allison looked around.
"Where's Samantha?" Allison asked.
Vanna didn't like how she made Samantha feel earlier.
"She's standing on the other side of the door to the nursery." Vanna said.
Allison looked in that direction.
"Is she in standby?" Allison asked.
Vanna wasn't sure what her current status was.
"She is on and off." Vanna said. "She wants to help me."
It made Allison feel like she'd intruded on Vanna's desire to be alone with Precious.
"I know you want to do this yourself." Allison said. "I can leave."
Vanna felt it was about the last thing she wanted at this point in time. She wanted Allison to stay.
"No, don't leave." Vanna said. "Can you stay here tonight?"
Allison could see Vanna really wanted her to stay.
"Of course I can." Allison said.
Vanna wanted to keep a closer watch on Precious at night.
"Maybe later on we can move her crib into the bedroom." Vanna said. "I'm afraid I won't hear her cry if she needs me in the night."
Allison knew there was a solution available for that very purpose. She really didn't see why Vanna couldn't use it as well.
"We can always activate Samantha. She can do what she does every night." Allison said.
Vanna felt she'd created a dilemma. It wasn't done intentionally. She wanted to see if she was capable of handling an infant for one day on her own.
"I want to try it for one night first by myself." Vanna said. "If things are disrupted too much, Samantha can assist me tomorrow. I'm afraid I'm making her feel bad or maybe unwanted. I need to know if I can do this myself too. I'm not trying to hurt anyone."
Allison questioned her ability to be able to care for an infant by herself. She was sure she would be a terrible mother.
"Maybe I need to do that too." Allison said. "I can't expect Holly to do everything for me. My mother did almost everything for Young Allison and Summer herself. It's what she insisted on."
Vanna wanted to give Allison some credit.
"You helped with Summer." Vanna said.
Allison was more than a little worried about what the future would bring.
"I was too lazy at night." Allison said. "I do need to start doing this. I believe Cameron is going to make sure I have MY baby one way or another."
Vanna believed there were options open to them, even if they were reluctant to use them.
"Young Allison is - you." Vanna said. "Savannah is – me."
The unspoken words there were that, 'Their children are our children'. They were the same people anyway.
Allison believed Cameron would up the ante soon enough.
"Cameron will do something. She's pleaded with me not to leave and go to her future." Allison said.
Vanna worried about what would happen.
"She won't stop you." Vanna said.
Allison didn't think Cameron would stop her, even if she didn't want her to go.
"No, she won't." Allison said.
Vanna already made up her mind what she would do if Allison was going to leave. She was never going to lose her again. It happened once.
"If you leave, I'm going with you." Vanna said.
Allison was mindful of what some of the side effects would be if Vanna and her went into Cameron's future.
"Then we will mess up other versions of ourselves lives." Allison said.
Vanna believed Cameron would 'fix' everything sooner or later for them.
"I think we need to let everything Cameron has planned play out." Vanna said. "You know she loves both of us."
Allison could always see the love whenever Cameron dealt with any version of them.
"I think she loves every Savannah and Allison." Allison said.
Vanna felt the answer was self-evident.
"We are all the same people…." Vanna said.
Allison didn't want to cause problems. She felt Precious stir as she held her.
"I guess we are." Allison said. "I think I need to change Precious."
Vanna took Precious back from Allison. She still wanted to do everything.
"Maybe tomorrow you can." Vanna said. "I have this for today."
Vanna was just glad there was something to do.
Samantha listened to Vanna and Allison. She better understood what Vanna was trying to do. She smiled to herself. She figured she would be back in with Precious as early as tomorrow night.
She would make herself available tonight if needed.
There was no place she would rather be than with Precious.
She thought of the freedom Cameron gave her earlier. Maybe if Vanna wanted to do everything with Precious tonight she could see about doing things with some of the others. Riley would be back soon enough and her freedom would be gone.
Jesse could hear Claire and the girls working in the commissary.
She watched them from outside. She could see Jan and Summer were having a great time making things. Claire was there watching over them. She didn't need to give them any advice.
It made Jesse wonder what kind of a mother she would be. She was afraid it wouldn't be a very good one. Having taken care of Precious some and nursing her made her think she should try and be a mother. Gail and everyone else would help her out. Cameron would make sure she did a good job. She knew Young Jesse or her mother as a surrogate would help her out.
"Hi, Jesse." Summer said.
It caught Jesse off guard. She jumped a little.
Jesse was sure Summer never looked at her.
She quickly entered the commissary.
"Hello, everyone." Jesse said. "It looks like I got here at the right time."
Summer wasn't going to let Jesse off easily.
"Someone's going to need to do the dishes." Summer said.
Jan laughed.
Claire didn't want to scare Jesse away.
"Don't worry about it, Jesse." Claire said. "We'll all do them."
Jesse looked at Summer and Jan.
"What are you gals making for dinner?" Jesse asked.
Summer and Jan filled her in.
Jesse looked at Claire and already knew what was for dessert.
"We made some for Vanna and Allison too." Jan said.
Jesse knew where they were at.
"They're in Riley's room with Precious." Jesse said.
Claire wanted to make sure they knew dinner would be ready soon.
"Maybe I'll call them." Claire said. "I think they can come here."
Jan wanted to make it easier for them.
"We can take some there." Jan said. "I can see my cousin then."
Claire wasn't sure exactly what Vanna and Allison would be doing.
"I'll go check." Claire said quickly.
Claire was afraid Jan would see a little more than Precious. Actually she was sure what they would be doing. Every time Vanna visited Palmdale she was with Allison. Vanna was also with her sometimes before she left. Those were always the best times for her. It never bothered her that Vanna was with her daughter right before she was with her.
Summer and Jan whispered to each other and giggled.
It was clear to Claire that the girls knew what went on.
Jesse didn't want there to be any problems.
"I'll go." Jesse said.
Jan hoped to see a little more. Her parents were away so she felt a little more rambunctious.
"I got it." Jan said. "I know what happens around here too."
Jan took off to go check.
Claire looked at Jesse.
Jesse shrugged her shoulders.
Summer looked at both of them
"We all know." Summer said. "We're just one big happy family."
Claire looked at Jesse and smiled.
"It's beautiful too." Claire said.
Jesse smiled back at Claire. She couldn't agree with her more.
"Who don't think so…." Jesse said as a statement.
Summer was sure what they were both going to have for dessert.
Maybe Tomorrow
People wait and wait
What's going to change
It makes no difference
How they will arrange
It's not the problem
The problem is within
Things are often over
Before they can even begin
Nothing ever gets easier
The more one will procrastinate
All it seems to breed
Is even more self hate
Take a look around
It's time to get a grip
Or only deeper into the void
Will one continue to slip
It seems the safe bet
To avoid more sorrow
Is to hold back for now
Think about later, maybe tomorrow
Nobody
