Judy woke up. Her tired eyes searched the room she was residing in. All she saw were various shapes and shades of grey. Given her feeble efforts were in vain, she groaned and reached for the light switch. After that, her body refused to leave the confines of the bed. The light illuminated the room, showing the dull and drab colours of the room. "Ugh... I really need to change the colour of the room from grey." She commented, as she did every day. "Maybe one day." She added, knowing she probably wasn't going to any time soon.

After a few seconds of trying to go back to sleep, she got up with a bigger groan and dropped her legs to the ground. She sleepily limped over to her phone almost like a zombie. She turned it on and was blinded for a split second by the sharp light that was activated. She tried to raise her left paw to her face but was met with a discomfort from the cast on her arm. "Ugh, please, I want it off now, I don't even feel any pain in my arm."

She scrolled through her phone, checking certain events that were happening on the news. She just grunted at each headline as nothing really caught her attention too much. She looked around her tiny apartment, as she came back to the Grand Pangolin Arms. She groaned, knowing there is literally nothing to do here. Judy spun around on her desk chair, blowing raspberries into the air, and proceeded to do so for another five minutes.

After the five minutes were up, she reached for her phone and checked her calendar. Just then, her eyes lit up. "YES!" She screamed out into the empty air.

"Mammals are still trying to sleep here!" Pronk yelled out, with a little bit of exhaustion and annoyance.

Bucky then retorted. "It's not like you're helping!"

"SORRY!" She yelled back. "MY FAULT!" She just heard groans from the other side of the wall. Her response was to just chuckle lightly while trying to stifle her noise.

She reached for her small fridge with a smile on her face. Inside was a few different perishables, of which she grabbed the milk. She then grabbed a bowl and the cereal. Knowing she was going to microwave her meal, she poured the milk first (A/N:If you have an issue with this, then I don't know what to tell you, BTW I do both, depends on situation, so :P) then shoved the now half filled bowl into the small microwave she had in the apartment. She hummed to herself, happy about the knowledge she had. As the microwaved pinged, Judy realised that she never told Emmitt that she has her appointment today. She called up her boss and hoped he would answer. After one ring, she heard : "Hello?"

"Hi, sorry to call on such short notice but I forgot that I had an appointment today for my broken arm."

Emmitt started to chuckle on the other end of the line. "It's okay, the store will survive without you, you can take the time off. Don't break a leg this time." He added the last comment as a little joke. Judy just rolled her eyes at that while listening to the otter snigger in the background. "Have a good day and good luck with the surgery."

"Thank you, have a nice day yourself." Judy responded, hanging the phone up afterwards. She then pulled out her milk bowl and poured cereal into it. She pulled out a spoon from a small drawer and started to eat her meal. Every bite crunched as her jaws chomped the flakes in her mouth. The sugary sweetness was released with each crunch, pleasing the jolly rabbit.

After finishing the meal, Judy cleaned up her bowl in her small sink, struggling at all times with only one arm. She removed every kernel of cornflakes on her bowl and left it to dry.

She then walked away from her sink and sat by her desk, thinking what she should do before her appointment. She couldn't eat too much from this point on, just in case. She couldn't watch a show or movie considering there wasn't enough time and she knew she would get too enthralled into the entertainment. After spinning for a few seconds on her chair, she finally reached the conclusion. A nice walk in the park.

She headed over to her pile of clothes that she had brought back from her temporary yet more spacious accommodation and picked out some casual slacks. She had a soft jumper and a pair of jeans that she would wear back home in BunnyBurrow. She struggled to put the jumper on, considering her arm, but was now essentially a pro at it.

After a few minutes of getting dressed, she left her small apartment and locked her house. She chuckled as she remembered a certain fox broke in before. Her muzzle then stiffened as she hurriedly unlocked her door to close the windows and lock them afterwards. The door clicked open and she darted to the other side of the room, shutting the window in an instant. "Not today." She giggled at that and finally was on her way to the park.

The wind breezed gently, it was a calm day today. In the slight distance, kits were screaming and cheering, running wild as if there was no-one else in the world. In the middle of it all was Judy, calmly strolling and taking in the greenery. "Aaaaah. Nice day, nice fresh smell, nice scenery." She decided to walk through the fields and try to get back into her nostalgic feels.

As she walked past, a ball struck her leg. "Oops, Sorry!" one of the kits called out. She just smiled as she lifted the ball up into the air then volleyed it back towards them. The keeper caught it and responded with a small but loud "Thank you!" as he threw it into the pitch. Judy just raised her thumb and smiled.

The laughs and cheers from the kits warmed Judy's heart and she smiled back at them as she was turning around. She sat down under a tree and closed her eyes for a few minutes. The gentle sounds that surrounded her put her at peace.

Just then, she heard a mammal sit down next to her. She opened her eyes and saw a certain fox sit next to her. "Aren't you supposed to be working, Miss Hopps?"

"We're friends Isamu." She paused as she fully opened her eyes. "Just call me Judy."

"I'm technically under your employment, ma'am." Judy chuckled and rolled her eyes, while Isamu gently chuckled as well.

"Back to your question, no, I'm having today off as this thing is coming off."

"You have your appointment in an hour." Isamu added, showing he knew what was happening when. "So, we can still wait here for another 20 minutes before you'd have to walk again."

"How long have you been watching me?"

"I'd've locked your window for you if you forgot, again."

"Wait, how many times have I forgotten?"

"You were there for a week now? At least twice a day." He thought about it for a second longer and just as Judy was about to respond. "I'd say about 16, maybe 17."

Judy just remained silent for a couple seconds, partially because she wanted to make sure he was silent, partially because she was unable to respond to that. "Okay, I may have a nasty habit that I should try break." Then after another tiny pause, she responded with "Woah, we need to get going." Isamu just shook his head with a light and stifled chuckle.

Both stood up and started heading towards the hospital. "So what have you been doing while I was dealing with a broken arm?"

"Just resting and watching over you, it seems that you have been forgotten by the general criminal audience." Isamu declared quietly, happy that his friend was getting it easier. "I'd suggest staying away from any previous associates, which may include me at a certain point."

"You're a bodyguard, you're fine." Judy responded. Judy took a sharp breath and held it for a second. "You still talk with him?" Isamu knew exactly what was meant and lightly nodded. "Tell him I said hi."

"I'll say hi next time I see him." Isamu concurred.

After 45 minutes, Judy waited in the reception, listening for her name being called out. During the previous 45 minutes, Isamu has left to do something else. Judy knew he was still somewhat nearby. All she did was have one earphone and listened to her music calmly. Around her were just a bunch of different mammals, all of which just kept to themselves.

Finally, a doctor walked out and walked up to the rabbit waiting with a broken arm. "Hope you're ready to take that off." He stated with a smirk on his face. Judy lifted her head and nodded ecstatically. The doctor chuckled. Judy stood up and the two walked deeper into the hospital.

Inside one of the medical examination rooms, Judy sat on a comfy chair and rested her formerly broken arm on a metal sheet. The doctor sat on a rolling chair beside her and typed on a computer. "So, we're hoping to take that off today, right?"

"Oh, yes, I couldn't wait for this day any longer." Judy grinned maniacally until she noticed the doctor pull out a small saw from what looked like a cabinet. Her smile faded ever so slowly as it started to rev up. "This is safe, right?"

The doctor chuckled for a little bit, then nodded re-affirmingly. "You won't feel a thing, and if you do, then it will turn off automatically." Judy sighed in relief but remained slightly skeptical.

The saw started to cut through the caste. "Now please, try to remain as still as you can." Judy nodded slightly to try not to move herself. Judy watched the saw move further up her arm and felt her fear rising more and more as she still hasn't felt anything. Eventually the caste opened up and Judy could move her arm normally. She felt liberated. She lifted her arm and started to move first the fingers, then the wrist then the entire forearm. Her face lit up with joy as her continued to be free and able to do what it pleased. "And that will be all, your medicals are already covered and I wish you a good day."

"Thanks doc, no offence, but I hope I don't see you again."

The doctor laughed and shook his head gently. "I understand what you mean, many are like that." Judy shrunk in size a little as she heard that. "Go, don't sit around on your paws, live, I know you were aching to do so." Judy nodded and walked out, heading back outside.

She said goodbye to the receptionist and saw her bodyguard outside. He pulled a small case from behind his back and pawed it over. "These are yours, as per request, and as I understand, it was a gift from before." Judy was confused and was about to open it. "Not in public. They're not toys."

"And why are you giving me these?"

"It's my last day as your bodyguard, your arm is healed. That was the last part."

Judy shook her head with a smirk, a chuckle and a gentle whisper, "You sly fox."
