Spell 18: The Promise to Keep
In the PA room, Koyomi was with Miku along with the mind controlled Rinne, Yoshino, Kaguya, and Yuzuru as she looked at the screen in worry for Shido.
'Shido…' Koyomi mutters in her mind.
"Go ahead and capture him, everyone." Miku ordered her mind-controlled slaves that had surrounded Shido and Kurumi. "Be sure to treat him as gently as you can, or I won't be able to have fun with him."
Miku's mind-controlled slaves begin to slowly approach Shido and Kurumi.
"Kurumi…They're going to…" Shido calls out to her but Kurumi just stood there before one of the slaves charges at him, and Shido stops by placing an arm in front of him.
But then a clock ticking was heard, and that mind-controlled slave falls to the ground, Shido soon leans on his knees as the air and space around him begins to feel heavy.
As Shido stood back up, he then notices that the other slaves begins to fall to the ground and Shido saw that Kurumi had brought out her Time-Cosuming Castle.
"The Time-Consuming Castle?!" Shido said, and Kurumi chuckled before she turned to him.
"Indeed. I'm impressed you remember, Shido-san. It's certainly taxing to extend my shadow over such a large area, but rarely do I have the opportunity to appropriate time from a large crowd." Kurumi said as the hands in her clock eye spins rapidly.
"Kurumi, this is too dangerous!" Shido told her as he was worried about the unconscious people around him.
"Oh, are you suggesting we should have let them capture us?" Kurumi asked, Shido grits his teeth as he knows she was right, they can't afford to waste anymore time to save Tohka.
"Don't suck out too much, okay?" Shido requested.
"Of course. You need not remind me." Kurumi said as she expanded the Time-Consuming Castle all over Tengu Square.
(With Miku)
Rinne begins to feel weak as she falls to the floor before Koyomi catches her in time.
Miku was stunned to see what was happening outside as she stood up.
"Wh-What did she do?!" Miku said as her eyes were now on Kurumi. "Is she a Spirit as well? And she hasn't been mesmerized by my music, either."
She then remembers the day when Shido, as Shiori, had revealed his ability to seal a Spirit's power.
"But…I have the ability to seal a Spirit's powers."
Miku grits her teeth to remember that.
"I will not…let you seal my powers! If you do, then just like before…" Miku said, and Koyomi blinked to hear that.
'Before?' Koyomi thought.
Miku then turns to the Spirits that were under her control.
"I will resume my concert right now!" Miku told them.
(Trust in you by sweet ARMS)
(Instrumental) (As the song begins the screen lowered to a metallic tree with seed-shape devices attached to it, and the tree itself was attached to a shipe.)
(Next we see Tohka, Yoshino, and Kotori wearing their Astral Dresses gently falling and landing on the ground as they turn to the screen as it zooms to their faces.)
(Next we see three more Spirits falling and landing to the ground, as it zooms to their hair as we couldn't see their faces.)
(Next to appear is Origami and Mana wearing their Realizer suits, as it zooms to Origami's mouth and to Mana's face.)
(Next to appear is Kurumi wielding both of her guns as she is surrounded by her clones, as it zooms to her face as she is smiling and her bangs cover her eyes.)
(Next to appear is the Fraxinus crew as the screen zooms to Kyouhei and Reine's faces.)
(Next to appear is Isaac Westcott and Ellen Mathers, before it zooms to their faces but their eyes are covered as Isaac had a smile on his face.)
(Last but not least, Shido appeared as he wore his Flame Style Ring and scanned it on his Driver and transformed into Kamen Rider Wizard, as the screens zoomed out as he transformed and showed his Ring, before it zoomed out further as his friends were standing beside him.)
(Fate subete wa hitsuzen? Hikare au you na deai (Deai). Tsunagaru sutourii) (In the city, Tohka was jumping off of her as her name appeared on screen before she runs forward and Yoshino and Yoshinon notice her running past as Yoshino was kneeling on the ground talking to her puppet friend as their names appeared one at a time and Yoshino soon stands up and followed Tohka.)
(Ne kono mune no kodou. Rikai dekinai nara (Up to you). Kono mama ochiteyuku dake) (Kotori was watching as she was leaning on a tree while enjoying her candy as her name appeared before she pulled her candy out and took her leave. Across the street, Origami was walking forward as her name appeared on screen. Then we see Koyomi, Rinne, and Mikie in Omokagedo talking to each other as their names appear, next we see Wajima bringing them some tea before he trips and falls as his name appears on screen.)
(Saa erande suriruna deto hajimemashou) (Kurumi was seen standing on top of a building as her name appears as she was looking up at an airship as its shadow appeared on the building. Shido was seen on street level as he was adjusting his Flame Ring before his name appeared on screen, and he soon noticed something flying in the air and saw it was the AST as they headed out to deal with a Spirit.)
(Hanasu tabi fureru tabi warau tabi mezamete. Ku kono omoi kesshite yuzurenai kara) (Next we see a flashback where Shido and Tohka were walking together as she was enjoying her kinako bread. Wizard was then seen riding his Machine Winger forward as the zooms out from his face, before it changes to Shido and his friends having breakfast together, and then they are setting up for a party with their classmates, and then to them looking at Tengu City on their favorite park. Soon following Wizard was Kotori and Yoshino with their Angels out as Kotori was flying above the Rider and Yoshino was riding on Zadkiel beside him. Then it changes to Shido and Tohka riding in a tram together as Tohka leans her head on his shoulder.)
(Hajimete konnani sunao ni soba ni itai to omou kimi ni deaetakara) (Then it changes to Wiseman along with his Phantom Generals, Medusa and Phoenix. Then as Wizard, Kotori, and Yoshino were moving forward, the Yamai twins flew above them forcing them to split up, next we see Miku riding on a road in the shape of a piano keyboard, next we see Mana flying above them. Next we see the silhouette of a new Kamen Rider and behind him was a giant lion with wings, and changes to the mysterious Phantom Sora as he was chuckling. Then Origami was seen clashing swords against Ellen.)
(Then finally we see the backside of an unknown Spirit that resembles Tohka as Wizard armed with Sandalphon stood in front of her.)
(Then we see Tohka falling towards Wizard as they grab each other's hand in a finger lock.)
(Shinjitaino Date A Live) (Tohka was smiling at Wizard and he was smiling under his helmet as he gently helped her land on her feet, and then the title appeared on screen as everything turned white behind it.)
Shido and Kurumi soon entered the building and arrived in the auditorium. Shido stops as he sees the female audience were unconscious on their chairs.
Shido and Kurumi walked down the stairs and soon saw Miku along with the mind-controlled Spirits were standing on the stage.
"Miku!" Shido shouted, and Miku sighs in disgust to hear his voice.
"What a revolting sound. That vile noise you call your 'voice' is sullying the eardrums of me and my Spirits. You truly are sickening. You've gone past being merely an annoyance. You are a pest. Would you kindly shut your trap, Mr. Talking Trash Can?" Miku said.
"Miku, just hear me out! I need to go save Tohka-the girl who was kidnapped as I ran away from here! Please, I-" Shido said, but every word he spoke only angered Miku as she gritted her teeth.
"I thought I told you…to shut your trap!" Miku shouted in rage as she brought out her Angel, Gabriel, and played on its keyboard. "Gabriel! March!"
Shido then saw the unconscious girls had woken up as she stood up despite still being under the effects of Kurumi's Castle.
"Wh-What the…" Shido said as he was surprised to see this.
"Now, this is a surprise. Mere humans caught in my shadows should not be able to move." Kurumi said as she was impressed by this, and Miku showed a smile on her face.
"What do you think of that? Aren't I amazing? My Gabriel does more than just mesmerize people! I don't need him alive. Go get him, my beautiful girls! Take that man's pathetic life and end it as I watch!" Miku ordered them.
Shido grits his teeth before he hears Kurumi chuckling as he turns to her.
"No, no, no. You mustn't gloat over such a small triumph. After all, you do not stand a chance against me!" Kurumi said as a dark shadow appeared beneath the feet of Miku's mind-controlled slaves before white arms and hands had appeared to restrain them.
Miku was stunned to see that.
"Kurumi!" Shido said.
"Fear not, Shido. I shan't take their lives." Kurumi said before her clones emerge from the shadows as they grab hold of the mind-controlled slaves while chuckling.
"Wh-What is going on? I can't believe it!" Miku said in shock.
The Yamai Twins soon change into their limited Astral Dresses and bring out their Angels.
"Summoning: Raphael: El Nahash!/Raphael: El Re'em!"
The Yamai Twins soon fired a strong gust of wind at Shido and Kurumi.
Acting quickly, Shido scans his Driver On Ring on his belt as it changes into its Driver Mode, and Shido quickly scans his Hurricane Dragon Ring on it.
[HURRICANE, DRAGON: Byu-Byu, Byu-Byu-Byu-Byu]
As Shido transforms into Wizard, he soon spun around to create his own gust of wind which clashed against the Yamai Twins' as the two attacks exploded against each other.
Both Wizard and Kurumi covered their faces with their arms from the explosion before it died down.
"You alright, Kurumi?" Wizard asked, and Kurumi was dusting her hand on her clothes.
"Yes, I'm just fine, thank you. But, it's always amazing to see you do your magic tricks like that." Kurumi said before she and Wizard looked at the Yamai Twins.
"Kaguya…Yuzuru…" Wizard said in worry for his friends.
"It seems you haven't learned your lesson. We will not let anyone harm our beloved older sister figure!" Kaguya told him.
"Warning: If you show any further resistance, we will have no choice but to exterminate you." Yuzuru told him.
Kurumi's clone soon appeared on the stage as they chuckle before they were implied by large ice spikes, and it was from Yoshino wearing her limited Astral Dress and was riding on her Angel, Zadkiel.
"I won't let you lay a finger on Onee-sama!" Yoshino swore.
"Yoshino…" Wizard said in worry.
Miku chuckles as she regains her calm.
"Right. I have three adorable Spirits on my side. There's no way I'll lose!" Miku said in confidence that she'll be the victor here.
Kurumi chuckles along with her clones.
"Indeed, it would be a bit of a challenge to handle all these Spirits without my Angel." Kurumi and her clones said before the clones brought out their guns and fired at the Yamai Twins but they easily blocked their bullets using the wind and chain.
"Give it up! Your puny guns are useless against the Ladies of the Storm!" Kaguya stated.
"Show yourself, Zafkiel." Kurumi said as she brought out her Angel and Kurumi brought out her pistol. "Now, Shido-san…I will give you some time alone with Miku-san. Best of luck to persuade her not to interfere with your search for Tohka-san. Zafkiel…Aleph."
As energy from Zafkiel's first bullet enters into Kurumi's gun, one of her clones appears behind Wizard as she grabs onto him and Kurumi aims her gun in front of the clone's head.
"I'm counting on you, me."
"Of course, you can leave him in my hands, me."
Kurumi fired and both Wizard and the clone had appeared on the stage.
"What was that?!" Kaguya said as she and Kurumi were surprised to see that.
Yoshino was about to attack but then the other Kurumi clones flew at her forcing Yoshino to attack them with ice spikes.
"What is with you?!" Yoshinon asked.
Then the clone holding Wizard manages to bring him in front of Miku which surprised her as the clone was right in front of her face/
"Boo." The Kurumi clone sticks out her tongue at Miku.
Miku flinches but breathes in to use her voice.
"Look out, Kurumi!" Wizard told her.
But then another Kurumi had appeared behind Miku and placed a hand on her mouth to prevent her from singing, and several white hands had appeared and grabbed onto Miku's body to prevent her from moving as well.
The clone and hands begin to drag Miku into the shadow beneath her feet as she sinks into it.
"K-Kurumi…What are you…" Wizard said as he turned to the real Kurumi.
Then the clone holding onto Wizard begins to do the same with him.
"I've fulfilled our promise, Shido-san. Now, it's up to you to get her to make a promise." Kurumi told him.
The clone chuckles before the shadow begins to fade away.
When the clone had disappeared, Wizard landed on solid ground before he stumbled a bit before he looked at the area he was now in. Wizard was in a dark space and there was nothing but darkness around him.
"What is this?" Wizard said in wonder before he changed back into Shido.
Shido soon saw Miku was standing in front of him.
"Miku!" Shido said, and Miku grits her teeth before she turns away from him.
"We have nothing to talk about! I don't even know what this place is meant to be! It seems that I can't even use my powers here. Worst of all, you are only two paces away from me!" Miku said.
"Look, I'm sorry for deceiving you. But please, keep the others out of this! Let go of the control you have over-" Shido said.
"Shut up!" Miku demanded in rage. "Close your trap and zip it shut! Did you really think I would listen to you after what you did to me?!"
"Miku, just listen to what I have to say. You should remember Tohka, that girl who was with me on stage. I'm sure you've figured out that she's also a Spirit. A Wizard from DEM kidnapped her. I need to go save Tohka." Shido told her, and Miku turned her head at him.
"What? Why would you bother?" Miku asked.
"Why? Because she's important to me, of course!" Shido answered.
"She was certainly pretty, but you're only trying to get her back because you need an outlet for your lust, aren't you?" Miku asked nonchalantly.
"What are you talking about?" Shido asked.
"That's what men mean when they say a girl's 'important' to them." Miku stated which caused Shido to grit his teeth. "Or are you saying you value Tohka-san's life over yours?"
"Of course I am!" Shido shouted in pure determination, and Miku only narrowed her eyes. "I'll save her, no matter what, whatever it takes. Then I'll come back here. So, Miku, can you wait here quietly without causing more damage?"
Miku just shrugged as she remained unconvinced.
"You expect me to believe you? Even if you aren't lying, you'll get killed before you reach Tohka-san. Better luck in the afterlife. May you rest in peace." Miku said as she clapped her hands together.
"That's…" Shido said, before Miku shook her hand.
"So that kind of promise is meaningless. Now just let me…" Miku said and that's when Shido realizes something.
"Right, we made a promise! There was that promise you have to keep!" Shido reminds her, and Miku turns to him.
"Me?" Miku said in confusion before she remembered that promise they made before the Ten-oh Festival.
"If Raizen High places first on the first day of the Ten-oh Festival, I'll let you seal my powers."
Her eyes widened in horror to remember that before she turned away from him.
"Th-That's null and void! You were hiding the fact that you're a man!" Miku said.
"I apologize for that. But that has nothing to do with the promise!" Shido said, and Miku held her hands before they began to shake in fear.
"I'm not going to concede. I'll never let anyone seal my powers!" Miku told him, and Shido lowered his head.
"I see." Shido said before he had an idea. "Then let's change the terms. Help me save Tohka!"
Miku turns to him in confusion.
"What?"
Kurumi and her clones continue to fight against the Yamai Twins and Yoshino.
"I hate to admit it, but you're right. I don't know if I can save Tohka with just Kurumi and Nitou's help." Shido said, which caused Nitou to sneeze as he wondered if someone was talking about him. "But if you help too, I might have a better chance!"
The Yamai Twins blow the clones away with their wind while Yoshino cuts them to shreds using ice shards.
"Wasn't your ultimate goal to seal my powers? Why go to such lengths to save her?" Miku asked.
"As I said, Tohka is important to me!" Shido told her with a determined face, and Miku still refuses to believe him as she grits her teeth while glaring at him.
"I refuse. Why should I?" Miku said before she turned her back to him.
"Miku!" Shido said.
"Stop talking! I don't want to listen to you! You're lying! You're deceiving me! You're a human! You're all too selfish for your own good! You could never really care that much about someone!" Miku exclaimed as she remembered dark memories from her past.
Shido was left stunned by this.
"Why do you resent humanity so much? Weren't you-" Shido said before a bright light appeared above them.
Shido looked up and saw a large cut had appeared in the darkness.
"Excuse me for interrupting, but your time is up." Kurumi told them.
"Kurumi!" Shido said before the light had completely covered the whole area.
Back in the auditorium, the room was now in ruins and several of Kurumi's clones were implied by ice spikes before both Shido and Miku had returned on the stage as they were seated on the floor.
Yoshino soon saw them.
"O-Onee-sama!" Yoshino said in worry before the Yamai Twins soon saw her as well.
The three mind-controlled Spirits land close to her to see if she's alright.
"You're all right!" Kaguya said in relief.
"Relief: Thank goodness." Yuzuru said.
Kurumi then lands next to Shido before she knelt down and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Shido-san, can you stand up? I have only so much time to spare. We will soon have to retreat." Kurumi told him.
"H-Hold on, Kurumi. I just need a little-" Before he could finish Kurumi had pulled him back to avoid an incoming ice spike that was heading towards him.
Shido then saw his mind-controlled friends were glaring at him.
"I-I will kill anybody who opposes Onee-sama!" Yoshino said.
"Yoshino…" Shido mutters before Kurumi leans onto him and whispers in his ear.
"Do you understand the situation now?" Kurumi said before she brought out her gun and aimed it at her head. "Zafkiel…Aleph."
She fired at herself to teleport out of the building as they faded away.
Nitou was waiting in the meeting spot he, Shido, and Kurumi had set up in an alleyway. Nitou was seated on the ground and leaning on the wall before he yawned as he was getting bored of waiting.
"Man…I'm bored…" Nitou said before he saw that Shido, and Kurumi had appeared in front of him. "Oh! Shido, Kurumi-chan, you're back! So how did it go with Miku-chan?"
Shido sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck.
"Well…" He mutters before he and Kurumi have set down and tells Nitou what happened.
"I see. So it didn't go as well as you hoped." Nitou said while nodding a few times.
"Yeah. But hopefully I at least got through to her somehow." Shido said before he turned to Kurumi. "I'm sorry, Kurumi. I couldn't get her to promise me. In fact, I made her even angrier. And you gave me so much help, too."
Kurumi chuckles in amusement.
"My, who would ever think you would be so considerate? I'm honored. Would you give me a pat on the head?" Kurumi said, Shido nervously chuckles before he begins to pet her on the head which she enjoyed while Nitou had a jealous look on his face.
"Well, it didn't seem as if she would actively try to stop us from saving Tohka-san. We also managed to show her that I do pose a real threat to her." Kurumi said.
"I guess so." Shido said.
"But…" Kurumi said before she leaned onto Shido which surprised him, and Nitou grew even more jealous.
"What are you doing?" Shido asked.
"I heard you trying to befriend Miku-san in my shadow. Do you think I'm too weak to get past that Wizard?" Kurumi asked.
"I wasn't…" Shido said before Kurumi licks on his cheek which caused him to blush, and Nitou had a saddened look on his face before he sighed in envy as he lowered his head.
"Man…I wish I was Shido right now…" Nitou mutters.
"I'm joking, of course." Kurumi whispers before she lightly bites onto his ear and Shido closes his eyes to ignore it. "We don't know what the enemy has in store for us. It was very smart of you to try to expand our forces."
Kurumi begins to gently rub her finger on his chin.
"But my…You're such a terrible liar, aren't you?" Kurumi chuckled before she stood up and spun around. "Ah, yes. There is something I must tell you. I have found out where Tohka-san is."
"Really?! Where?!" Shido asked.
Kurumi chuckles before she turns to the side.
"DEM…Deus Ex Machina Industries, Japan, First Office Building." Kurumi answered.
(Meanwhile with Tohka)
Inside her dark room, Tohka was now face-to-face with Isaac Westcott with Ellen standing behind him.
"I'm very pleased to meet you, Princess. Ah, I'm sorry, Yatogami Tohka. I work for DEM Industries. My name is Isaac Westcott." Isaac greeted his captive, and Tohka glared at him as she could tell that he was dangerous.
Isaac turns to Ellen with a saddened look on his face.
"Shoot, does she not like me?" Isaac asked
"The methods you have used were not particularly pleasant." Ellen told him.
"Were you the one behind all this?! What are you after?!" Tohka asked.
"There isn't much to it, really. I want your Spirit powers…so I can alter the mechanisms that make this world tick." Isaac answered with a smile.
"What do you…" Tohka said.
"The way you exist in this world is far too stable for my purposes, however. Tell me, what would make you despair?" Isaac asked.
"Huh?" Tohka said in confusion.
"Any ideas, Ellen?" Isaac asked. "Physical pain seems to be the simplest answer. Electric shock, oxygen deprivation…We could pull off your fingernails or grind out your teeth. Oh, how about defiling your womanly dignity? Do you have any friends or loved ones in this world? I would just love to see you as one of them dies before your eyes."
Tohka then remembers the time when Shido was shot which caused her to have a look of fear in her face, and Isaac grins to see that.
"Ellen?" Isaac asked, and the DEM Wizard soon answered.
"I believe Itsuka Shido is the one closest to her. When I questioned her, I saw the most emotional response when I mentioned his name."
"I see." Isaac said in understanding. "We'll continue this once he's here then."
Isaac turns around and walks to the hidden exit before it opens for him.
"Stop! What are you going to do to Shi-" Tohka shouted in worry and Ellen stops her by bringing out her Territory which inflicts pain around the Spirit.
"Please be quiet." Ellen told her.
"Shi…do…" Tohka mutters before she passes out.
Ellen soon undid the Territory and leaves with Isaac before the door closes, leaving Tohka in the dark room.
(With Shido)
Shido, Nitou, and Kurumi were now standing on the roof of a building as they were looking at the tall building which was DEM's First Office Building in Japan.
"The entire area beyond this point is owned by DEM. The First Office Building is that tall tower in the middle. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you where she is in that tower." Kurumi told the two Mages.
"Man…Just look at how tall it is." Nitou said as he looked up at the tall building. "Just how are we going to find Tohka-chan in that?"
"I don't know. But, just knowing that she's inside is more than enough for me." Shido said.
"Let us go over our plan. Once we arrive at the tower, I will summon many copies of myself and raid all the buildings throughout the complex." Kurumi said.
"That will force their security forces to spread out and hopefully leave the route to Tohka less well guarded." Shido said.
"Yes, exactly. Now-" Kurumi started before the Spacequake Alert began to go off.
"A spacequake alert?!" Shido said.
The citizens in the area began to enter into the underground shelters and metal plates appeared around the buildings.
"What the hell's going on? Is there another Spirit in the area?" Shido asked.
"I do not believe that to be the case. DEM are probably the ones who triggered this alarm, which can only mean…" Kurumi said before she dodges an incoming laser shot and grabs onto Shido and pushes him to the ground while knocking Nitou to the ground as well to avoid two more incoming laser fire.
Shido looks up at Kurumi as she smiles at him.
"They must not want anybody to see the carnage to come." Kurumi said.
As Nitou sat up while rubbing his head, then the trio looked up and saw it was an army of Bandersnatches as they were in the air looking down at them.
"Bandersnatches?!" Shido said.
The Bandersnatches once again fired at them, and Kurumi, carrying Shido in her arm while dragging Nitou by holding onto his collar, was able to dodge them before she jumped into the air.
"Go, my other selves." Kurumi said as her other selves had appeared and began to battle the Bandersnatches.
One Kurumi tore one Bandersnatch in half, one thrust her hand straight through another Bandersnatch's head from the back, and one bear hugged one Bandersnatch until it broke in half while another attacked one from behind.
One Kurumi gracefully dodges one Bandersnatch's laser fire as she charges at it before she tore off both of its arms and then its head and jetpack.
The Kurumi clones chuckles as they smile at the Bandersnatches, good thing they were machines, otherwise they would've been in complete fear of their laughter and smile.
Not long after that, the sky was now a battleground as explosions and laser shots were seen as the Kurumi clones continued to fight against the Bandersnatches.
Shido along with Kurumi and Nitou, who was messaging his sore neck, was watching the battle as they were back on the roof.
"My god…" Shido mutters.
"We don't have time to sit here enjoying the view." Kurumi said.
"What do you mean?" Nitou asked.
DEM's First Office Building soon revealed hidden rooms to reveal another army of Bandersnatches along with an army of DEM Wizards before they launched from the building and entered the battlefield.
"Change of plans. I will use my other selves to attack the Wizards and the puppets. In the ensuing commotion…" Kurumi said before she spins and hugs onto Shido which surprised him. "We will charge straight through their defenses."
Kurumi soon brings out her pistol before she turns to Nitou.
"You may want to grab on." Kurumi said.
"Oh, right." Nitou said before he grabbed Kurumi's shoulder.
"Zafkiel…Aleph." Kurumi said before she fired.
Using Zafkiel's power, Kurumi was able to bring herself, Shido, and Nitou to ground level in an alleyway but the two mages were a little dizzy as a result.
"You two alright?" Kurumi asked in concern.
"Yeah, more or less." Shido said as he stood back up while shaking his head.
"I'm okay too. Thanks for asking." Nitou said as he shook his head as well.
"The clock is ticking. Let's go, Kurumi, Nitou!" Shido told them.
"Right!" Nitou nodded.
"Of course." Kurumi said before she turns around and walks forward. "The First Office Building is this-"
A black mist appeared around Kurumi before a laser shot through her beheading Kurumi as her head fell to the ground, both Shido and Nitou blinked before blood spewed out of Kurumi's now decapitated body which shocked them both as they took a step back.
"What the hell?!" Nitou shouted in shock.
"Was that the enemy?" Shido said as he was on guard before he saw Kurumi's body begin to sink into her shadow. "Kurumi!"
"Jeez, it took me forever to find you."
Shido looked and saw it was his biological sister, Mana, who had just arrived.
"Mana?" Shido said in shock to see her.
Mana puts her weapons away before she jumps to Shido with a smile on her face.
"Nii-sama!" Mana said as she hugs onto Shido as they both fall to the ground. "Thank god you're okay!"
"'Nii-sama'? Shido, when did you have another sister?" Nitou asked.
"It's a little complicated." Shido told him before he turned back to Mana. "You're Mana, right? Have you recovered from your injuries?"
Mana soon sits up.
"Yep! I'm in absolute top form!" Mana assured him before Shido sat up as well.
While they weren't looking, Kurumi's head began to sink into her shadow.
"But weren't you working for DEM?" Shido asked.
"Nah. I quit DEM!" Mana answered.
"Really?" Shido asked.
"Yeah. Oh, and I borrowed this equipment from the Fraxinus. I'm with Ratatoskr now." Mana explained.
"You joined Ratatoskr?" Shido asked.
"I don't even know what's going on anymore." Nitou said.
"I gotta say, that was close. When will Nightmare learn to stay the hell away from you?" Mana said in annoyance.
"You got it wrong, Mana. Kurumi has been working with me!" Shido told her before he and Mana stood up.
"Working with you?" Mana said in confusion.
They soon heard Kurumi's chuckle before she appeared from a shadow that was on a wall, and showed she was completely unharmed. Nitou was a little stunned to see that.
"Well…That's not creepy." Nitou said.
"I knew such a cold greeting could only have come from you." Kurumi said as she greeted Mana, and the blue-haired girl aimed her arm-cannon at her.
"Did you really think that would kill me?" Kurumi asked.
"Oh, what a bummer. I thought I had blown that disgusting smirk right off your skull." Mana said.
"Oh, what an amusing girl you are. You only survived thanks to blind luck and me letting you live. Were you too frightened back then that you forgot everything?" Kurumi said with a somewhat mocking tone in her voice as Mana grits her teeth while glaring at her.
Shido then gently pushed Mana's weapon to the ground.
"Mana, calm down. Right now, Kurumi is here to help." Shido told her.
"But, Nii-sama…" Mana said in worry.
Kurumi sighed, which got the siblings' attention.
"Well, I suppose this was good timing. I have my own business with DEM to take care of. I will leave you with her from here on. I'm sure Mana-san will get you through." Kurumi said.
"But will you be alright?" Shido asked in worry.
"Do not worry. My other selves are more than enough to keep the enemy distracted." Kurumi assured him before she entered into her shadow. "Farewell, my friend."
She soon disappeared along with the shadow to play her part in the plan.
"Good luck." Shido told her.
Mana huffed to see her gone.
"I don't know what kind of freakin' deal you made with her, but this is for the best." Mana said.
"Come on, Mana…" Shido said, and Mana soon realized something.
"Oh, right! Take this, Nii-sama." Mana said as she brought out an earpiece communicator.
Shido soon puts it on and hears a familiar voice speaking through it.
"Can you hear me, Shido?" Said Kotori.
"Kotori! You came to your senses?" Shido asked.
"Yeah, barely made it." Kotori told him.
On board the Fraxinus, the crew members that were under Miku's control were now free as well as they were now on their chairs and were ready to support Shido.
Kotori had a sad and guilty look on her face.
"Sorry about…you know, telling you to die and stuff. I wasn't myself." Kotori told him.
"Yeah, I know. Anyway…" Shido begins to tell her the situation and his goal to save Tohka.
(Meanwhile)
After her talk with Shido, Miku was now in a 5-star hotel building to eat their best steak to eat out her frustrations while the mind-controlled Rinne, Yoshino, Kaguya, Yuzuru and the Shido's classmate trio were watching her along with Koyomi.
"Oh, good lord! I can't believe it! This is so insane! There is no way a filthy human, and male scum, at that, would put its life on the line to save someone…" Miku states as she eats before she slams her hands on the table. "Ever! Otherwise, I…"
Miku's mind-controlled slaves were looking at her in worry.
"Onee-sama…" Yoshino said.
Miku then turns to them to ask them this question.
"Listen, girls. I want you to answer me truthfully. What is Shido to Tohka-san? Do you really think he cares that much about Tohka-san?"
The girls turned at each other before the classmate trio spoke first.
"Nah, he's shallower than a kiddy pool!" Ai said.
"He's just spewing BS, that's what!" Mai said in agreement.
"Maji hiku wa!" Mii said.
Miku narrowed her eyes on them.
"I told you to answer me truthfully. You know I don't like liars." Miku warns them and the trio flinches and begins to answer her truthfully.
"I…Honestly don't know what's going on between them. They aren't dating, but they aren't friends, either."
"They're together pretty much all the time. Tohka-chan always looks so happy when she's with Itsuka-kun, and Itsuka-kun seems to care about Tohka-chan a lot, too."
"Maji hiku wa…Maji hiku wa."
"Then, if he had to put his life on the line to save Tohka-san, what would Shido-san do?" Miku asked, and the first to answer that question was Yoshino.
"Shido-san wouldn't hesitate for a moment…if it meant saving Tohka-san."
"I am certain that Shido would do that." Kaguya said in agreement. "That lunatic would happily sprint headfirst into the fires of hell for somebody, just like he did for us before."
"Agreement: He is certainly 'special'. I am sure he would do absolutely anything for Tohka." Yuzuru told her.
"Yeah. Shido is the kind of person who puts the lives of strangers over his own. That's the kind of person." Rinne said.
"That's right. Shido had saved a lot of people like that, he would never abandon anyone who would need his help, whether they reject it or not." Koyomi told her.
Miku grits her teeth to hear that before she remembers Shido's words from their talk in Kurumi's shadow.
"No matter what happens, no matter what it takes, I'll save her."
Miku's eyes flinch before she looks through the window. She was silent before she spoke.
"Hey, Rinne-san, Koyomi-san." Miku calls out getting the said girls' attention. "You said that Shido-san is the kind of person who would save total strangers, even if they reject his help, right?"
"Yes." Both Rinne and Koyomi nodded before Miku turned to them.
"Tell me more about that." Miku said.
(Back with Shido)
With Mana guiding them, Shido and Nitou make their way to DEM's First Office Building to save Tohka while Kotori speaks to him.
"No, I can't let you do that." Kotori told him.
"What are you talking about?! They took Tohka! Isn't DEM the evil corporation that's trying to kill Spirits?!" Shido said.
"You think I don't know that?!" Kotori asked. "Why would I ever let my brother walk into that death trap?!"
The crew were looking at their commander as she continued to argue with Shido.
"Can't you be a little more rational?! You need to worry about yourself as much as the others!" Kotori told him.
"And just let them kill Tohka?!" Shido asked.
"I just spoke with Kizaki! He's trying to get the Prime Minister to help. If we make the preparations until then…" Kotori said.
"We don't have the time! Kurumi is keeping the Wizards at bay for us. This is the only chance we'll get! Please, Kotori! I promise I'll bring Tohka back! Please!" Shido told his sister.
"Dammit!" Kotori shouted as she slammed her hands on her armrests. "It's not like I can stop you anyway, huh?"
Shido smiles in agreement.
"You got that right." He said, and Kotori lowered her head.
"Come on, I've been your sister for more than a decade." Kotori mutters before she raises her head. "There's going to be some sort of jamming in the tower."
Shido, Nitou, and Mana were hiding behind a wall as Mana was on look out.
"We can only help you from the Fraxinus while you're outside." Kotori told him.
"That's plenty. Sorry about this, Kotori." Shido told her.
You'd better be. Since we've both got this idiot for a brother, let's get this done together." Kotori said and Mana heard it before she placed her hands on her hips with a proud smile on her face.
"Well, not that my brother would ever scurry away from a situation like this." Mana said, and Shido chuckles before they begin to move to the Office Building.
"If we're going to do this, it needs to be perfect. Tohka comes out in one piece, and you, Nitou, and Mana, too. Anything else and we've failed." Kotori said.
"Got it." Shido said as they soon arrived at their destination.
"Now…let our…" Kotori said.
"Let our…" Shido said.
"Let our date begin!" Both Itsuka siblings said at the same time with a smile on their faces.
(Meanwhile)
In the hospital where she was recovering, Origami was standing on her feet and was about to leave her room as she just heard about Nightmare's attacks against DEM and for some reason Shido was involved as well.
"No! You can't, Origami-san!" Mikie said as she held Origami to prevent her from leaving.
"Let me go. If Shido's in peril, I need to help him." Origami said.
"But you can't! They suspended your ID! You weren't even allowed to use a Wiring Suit, let alone a CR Unit!" Mikie told her.
"Then I'll use standard equipment. I can smuggle a rifle out of here." Origami said.
"You can't be serious! You won't survive a fight with Wizards and Spirits without a Territory! I don't know why, but Shido-san attacked DEM with Nightmare. He's an enemy of the AST!" Mikie told her.
"All the more reason for me to go. Now that I have lost everything, he is my last beacon of hope. If he dies, that will truly be the end of me. Please, let me go." Origami told her.
Hearing that made Mikie remember the time when Shido had saved her when she was in despair, but she made at least one last attempt to convince Origami to stop.
"And if I said that I would kill myself if you left?" Mikie asked with a determined face.
"You would never do that. You know that it would hurt me and Shido." Origami told her, and Mikie's eyes flinched before she lowered her head in defeat and let go of Origami.
"I swear…You two are so much alike. I do know something that might help, although I'm unsure as to whether you'll be able to use it." Mikie told her.
Kurumi and her clones fired their guns at the Bandersnatches which left large holes as they charged forward.
The DEM Wizards and Bandersnatches begin to fire at them creating large explosions around them, but the Kurumis fly out of the smoke cloud as they continue to charge.
One Kurumi grabs one Bandersnatch's neck and crashes it with ease before it explodes, she then avoided a Wizard's fire heading towards as she flew to that Wizard to grab his neck and she broke it so hard that blood had appeared from inside of his helmet as it covered his whole visor.
Kurumi then threw that Wizard to the ground while the other DEM forces fired at her which tore her body apart before the other Kurumis charges at them.
A group of Kurumi clones were fired upon as an explosion appeared around, but they were still alive as they chuckled despite the blood and wounds on their bodies.
Shido and Nitou continue to watch the battle intensify before they see that Mana had a hole in the gated door of DEM's First Office Building.
"Let's go, Nii-sama, Mayonnaise." Mana told them.
"Right." Shido said.
"Yeah. But my name isn't Mayonnaise!" Nitou said.
"You're as bold as always." Shido said before Mana entered first, and Shido looked up at the building. "This building is humongous. I wish I at least knew which floor Tohka is on."
"If anywhere, she would be in a facility for quarantining Spirits. It should look similar to the quarantine room on the Fraxinus." Reine told him.
"Got it." Shido said.
Shido and Nitou were about to enter inside but stopped as Mana brought out a Territory around herself.
"Mana?" Shido said in confusion.
Then a large laser blast appeared in front of them which created an explosion, thankfully the blast had protected them as Shido and Nitou were forced to step back.
"Mana!" Shido said in worry.
"Yeah, yeah, quit worrying." Mana told her brother.
When the smoke died down, they soon saw that it was a DEM Wizard who fired at them and Shido recognized the CR-Unit they were using.
"Is that…White Licorice?!" Shido said in shock.
"Wow, I'm surprised you know about that, but that's not quite right. This is another prototype with similar technology to White Licorice: DW-029R, dubbed 'Scarlet Licorice'." Mana explains as the DEM Wizard slowly moves towards them.
Once Shido had gotten a good look of it, it was indeed a scarlet red version of the White Licorice, and saw its user was a red-haired woman, and Mana was able to recognize her.
"Going for a new look? You look hella different from earlier today. It's ruining your adorably annoying face…Jessica!" Mana said.
The woman raised her head and revealed she was indeed Jessica Bailey with a bandage across her face. Jessica's eyes were mostly set on Mana as she had a crazed grin before she laughed.
"Mana, Mana! Takamiya Mana! How do you like my Licorice? I'm not going to lose! I won't lose! Not to you!" Jessica declared with a crazed tone in her voice.
"Dang…She's gone crazy." Nitou said.
"You know her?" Shido asked.
"I used to work with her. She's making a fool of herself." Mana said before she steps forward to face the crazed Jessica. "Jessica, deactivate the Licorice right this instant! Surely you know you can't handle it!"
But Jessica simply laughs maniacally.
"What are you talking about? I feel great! After all…I can kill you once and for all!" Jessica shouted as she charged her cannons and Mana flew up.
Jessica fires at her and Mana dodges it as she flies down and swings her sword at her but Jessica blocks it using her right arm, she then pushes her back and both of them fly up, and Jessica fires missiles at her and Mana blocks them using a Territory around her.
"Mana!" Shido said in worry before the next explosion forced him to step back.
Mana and Jessica continue their battle as they fly higher in the air while clashing against each other.
While he was reluctant to leave her to fight Jessica alone, Shido can't afford to waste this chance.
"Come on, Nitou!" Shido said as he ran into the building.
"R-Right!" Nitou said as he followed Shido.
"Shido! It's too dangerous! At least wait for Mana!" Kotori said.
"The guards will have regrouped by then, I can't afford to waste time while Mana is keeping that woman busy!" Shido told her.
"Sure, that makes sense, but…Hey, Shido? Shido?!" Kotori said as she was losing the transmission as Shido continued to run deeper into the building.
"I lost contact with Kotori. We're on our own from here on." Shido said.
"Got it." Nitou said.
They soon arrived at the lobby as they kept running, but then several green lights appeared from the ceiling which made them stop before they dropped down and showed they were Bandersnatches as they now surround them.
"Great, more Bandersnatches." Shido said before he was ready to transform to fight them but Nitou stops him by placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Shido, no. Just leave these guys to me, while you go and save Tohka-chan." Nitou told him.
"What? But, Nitou…" Shido said.
"Wait! Say no more!" Nitou raised his hand in front of him. "Like you said, we can't afford to waste time. So just go."
Nitou soon faced the Bandersnatches before he scans his Driver On on his belt.
[DRIVER ON]
Nitou's Driver had appeared.
"Sure you can handle this?" Shido asked, and Nitou gave him a thumbs up.
"Just go and save your Princess already." Nitou told him, and Shido smirks.
"Got it!" Shido said as he ran up the stairs.
The Bandersnatches were about to follow him, but then Nitou walked in front of their way, forcing them to stop.
"Sorry, scarpheads, but you'll be facing me." Nitou said as he put on his Ring. "Truth be told, I wanted to save Tohka-chan myself to at least score some points with her. But, some things are more important than others."
Nitou soon raises his Ring up and assumes his pose.
"Hennnnnnn~shin!" Nitou shouted before he inserted his Ring into his Driver.
[SET, O~OPEN! L-I-O-N: LION]
Nitou transforms into Beast and then claps his hands together.
"Saa, lunchtime!" Beast declared before he pulled out his Saber.
The Bandersnatches soon charge at Beast and he does the same. Two Bandersnatches throw an attack at Beast and he dodges them and slash through the mechanical puppets cutting them in half as they fall to the ground.
Beast then saw three Bandersnatches firing at him, and he dodges their laser fire by rolling on the ground. As Beast stops on his knee and foot he soon changes to his Chameleo Ring and inserts into his Driver.
[CHAMELEO, GO: CHA-CHA-CHA-CHA CHAMELEO]
Beast soon puts on his Chameleo Mantle and uses its golden tongue to swing at the three Bandersnatches to smash them in half.
Beast then notices another Bandersnatch jumping down behind him, and Beast soon turns invisible to avoid its attack as its hands smashed into the ground instead.
Just as the Bandersnatch pulls out its hands, Beast cuts him in half from behind before he becomes visible again.
"That's what you got for attacking someone when he wasn't looking." Beast said.
Then the other Bandersnatches jump down and dog-pile on Beast as they begin to beat on him.
Beast was groaning as he managed to change into his Buffa Ring.
"This…This is nothing!" Beast shouted as he inserted his Ring into his Driver.
[BUFFA, GO: BU-BU-BUBUBU BUFFA]
Now wearing his Buffa Mantle, Beast uses his enhanced strength to force the Bandersnatches off of him as he swings both of his arms up while standing back up.
Beast then turns to another group of Bandersnatches and soon charges at them while using his Buffa Mantle to ram through the mechanical puppets, smashing them into pieces.
When Beast stops his dash, he soon turns to another group of Bandersnatches and spun his Saber and inserted his Buffa Ring into the slot, and the dice landed in a six.
[SIX: BUFFA SABER STRIKE]
"Yosha!" Beast cheered.
With a swing of his sword, Beast sent out six energy buffaloes at the Bandersnatches, destroying them as they exploded.
Beast chuckled as he rested his Saber on his shoulder, but then he saw another group of Bandersnatches had arrived as they jumped down from the ceiling and faced the Primordial Mage.
Beast sighed before he assumed his sword stance.
"You're not going to make this easy, are you? But like I always say…A pinch is a chance." Beast said before the Bandersnatches charged at him.
Shido continues to run up the long stairway before he finally arrives on the second floor, but that's when two guards of DEM Wizards spotted him.
"An intruder!" One of them said before they aimed their guns at them.
"Great. I was hoping to avoid a fight, but I guess I have no choice." Shido says as he charges at them and scans his Driver On Ring on his belt.
[DRIVER ON, PLEASE]
Shido's Driver had soon appeared.
"Freeze! Freeze, or we'll shoot!" The other guard said as they fired at him, and Shido dodged their laser shots.
"Say that before you shoot!" Shido said as he put on his Flame Ring. "Henshin!"
Shido scans the Ring on his Driver.
[FLAME, PLEASE: HI HI HI HI HI]
Shido transforms into Wizard and is armed with his sword.
While the DEM Wizards were surprised at first they fired at the Ringed Mage, and Wizard deflected their fire with his sword before he uses it to cut their weapons into pieces, and Wizard uses the back end of his sword to whack the guards on the head, knocking them out as they fall to the ground.
"Sorry about that. But, I can't let you stop me from saving Tohka." Wizard told them.
"There he is!" Wizard looked and saw another group of guards had arrived. "It's the Kamen Rider!"
"Attack!" Their leader ordered and they soon fired at Wizard.
Wizard deflected their laser shots with his sword, but then one of the DEM Wizards brought out a Territory and sent it at the Ringed Mage.
Wizard soon changed to his Defend Ring and scanned it on his Driver.
[DEFEND, PLEASE]
Wizard soon brings out his magic shield as it stops the Territory in its tracks when the two shields collide, but then the other DEM Wizards bring out their own Territories as it smashes into the first one to give it enough force to slightly push Wizard back.
Wizard tries to stand his ground, but the force of the combined Territories manages to push him all the way back to a way.
Wizard grunted as he tried to push the Territories back as the DEM Soldiers approached the Magic-theme Rider.
'Dammit…I need to get to Tohka! Tohka…Tohka…' Wizard thought before he shouted her name. "Tohka!"
Beneath his helmet, Wizard's brown eyes soon turned gold, and then a bright light appeared as it shattered the Territories and Wizard lowered his shield as both he and the guards looked at it.
Then the light took the form of Tohka's Angel, Sandalphon.
"An Angel?" One of the guards mutters in shock.
Wizard was looking at the sword in awe before he nodded in understanding and soon approached the Angel.
"Yeah, that's right. We're going to save…your master." Shido swore as he grabbed onto Sandalphon with his other hand.
Sandalphon unleashed a pulse of energy which made the DEM Wizards step back in fear.
Wizard soon assumes his stance with Sandalphon as he remembers Tohka's words on how to use it.
"Your wish created that Sandalphon. It's up to you to make it come true."
Wizard roars as he swings Sandalphon to unleash a massive energy slash which slashed the building and created a large explosion on the wall of the floor he was on.
Wizard was now panting as the hallway in front of him was now in ruins and the guards that were in front of him were now wounded and unconscious on the ground.
"Man…This thing packs a wallop…" Wizard mutters before he looks at Sandalphon. "I better be careful on how I used this…otherwise I might bring the entire building down on me."
Wizard was about to move forward before saying.
"You sure you want to do that…?" He asked, and a wounded but armed DEM Wizard flinched, he was ready to attack Wizard when he wasn't looking but he was already aware that he was still conscious. "I really have no time to waste on you…I'm only here to save my friend…So, it would do us both a lot of good if you just stay down."
The DEM Wizard grits his teeth in frustration before he lowered his head as he knows he can't beat the Ringed Mage.
"Thanks…" Wizard told him before he continued to move to save Tohka. "Just hang on, Tohka…I'm going to save you…"

(Sore wa sore wa hatenai tabi. Kimi wo sukuu yūsha no monogatari.) (The screen showed the starry night sky above Tengu City, and then it lowered to Wizard's back as he was standing before it moved to his face as Wizard raised his head as the sun rose in front of him.)
(Aru otogi no kuni Tabidatsu wa yūsha) (Next it changes to the park where Shido and Tohka had their first date, as we see two Wizards striking a pose in Flame Style and Flame Dragon Style before we Yoshinon holding the Water Style Ring appearing on the screen as it change the background.)
(Sōgen kakenuke Mezasu wa ohime-sama) (Next we see Arubi Island and show two Wizards in Water Style and Water Dragon Style striking a pose, and next Tohka appears as she wears the Hurricane Style Ring as the background changes.)
(Makkura na dōkutsu kaze fuki-areru yama koeteku) (Next we see it was night time in Tengu City as the screen showed DEM's Japan Branch, and two Wizards in Hurricane Style and Hurricane Dragon Style standing on top of another building striking a pose, before Origami appeared wearing the Land Style Ring as the background changes to Tenguu Square and showed two Wizards in Land and Land Dragon Styles also striking a pose.)
(Tsurugi wo kazashite) (Sandalphone appears as it changes the screen, as we see Shido wounded and kneeling on the ground with the very same Angel in his hands as he had in front of him)
(Hitomi ni utsuru yūki no honō) (As Shido's powers healed his wounds, he looked up and stood on his feet.)
(Yami no te wo furi-harai kimi no te wo nigiru) (Next we see two hands appearing as they reach out and grab onto each other in a fingerlock and a brought light appears between them as it changes the screen white.)
(Ima datte yume datte tsurugi wo te ni. Kimi no koto mitsukeru yo yami wo saite. Taore tatte tsuraku tatte makenai kara. Kono te wo gyutto tsukamaete) Then it changes to a black sword floating in the starry night sky as the screen moves down, as it did the Yamai Twins appeared, then changes to Kotori in her commander outfit licking her candy, then we see Miku smiling at the screen, then change to Yoshino and Yoshinon smiling as well. Next Tohka appeared on screen but she was wearing a dark and different Astral Dress and had an expression that made it seem like she was a different person. Next we see Kurumi's face appearing on screen as she moves away from it.)
(Kienai yūki no honō ga (Dead or Alive) (Then as Kurumi fades away, flames appear out of nowhere as it covers and changes the background.)
(Sekai terashite-iru) (It changes to Tohka and Shido standing on a beach as they watch the setting sun while holding hands.)
