Chapter 1226
Ensenada
Savannah wanted a closer look at the man they were tracking.
The drone zoomed in and picked up the unknown man talking on a cell phone.
John Henry tracked them and tried to trace the call.
As Savannah watched the man, the phone disappeared.
"He put his phone away." Savannah said. "Did John Henry get it?"
Cammy wasn't sure if the call duration was sufficient. John Henry would need some time to isolate the signal. She was ready to move up and terminate the man herself. She would beat some answers out of him first.
"I don't know if it was enough time for John Henry to get a fix on who the recipient was of the call." Cammy said.
Savannah pointed out it was a two way street.
"We don't know if he called someone, or they called him." Savannah said.
It reminded both of them of the homeless men who were used as patsies at the port. It was all done to draw them out and target them for termination. It may not specifically have been their group that someone tried to draw out, but it was clear it was the purpose of it. This was probably more of the same. It was all isolated and out in the open. Anyone who approached him was a target.
John Henry tried to pick up the call and track it. He was able to get something.
The call traced back to a consultant firm for computer hardware.
It wasn't something he'd wanted to find. Computers companies and their associated firms, usually spelled some involvement with Skynet. It was a pretty good bet the man Cammy and Savannah currently tracked was Skynet related.
He immediately started a check on everything related to the company. It came back as a new upstart organization. It only started up several weeks ago. Everything he encountered showed more red flags.
He relayed the information to Cammy and Savannah.
John Henry was sure there was going to need to be some follow up action on the ground. He would like to assign some other Terminators to the task. He didn't want the risk to fall on Cammy and Savannah.
Savannah and Cammy received the confirmation they'd expected. The man was involved with one of the groups from the future.
"It's bad news." Savannah said.
Cammy wanted to send a team of Terminators or go herself and clean the place out. It was a threat. She wanted to eliminate it. She wanted to move Savannah at a more secure location. She didn't care where it was at this point.
"I'll go there and terminate everyone today." Cammy said. "I'll take care of it while you're at Cameron's base."
Savannah didn't think the building would go anywhere. It was currently a fixed target. They would need to start a watch on it to see who came and went. There was always more at play than they could see in a quick glance.
"We can deal with both of those issues any time." Savannah said. "We need to figure out what they are up to and how it ties in with the old newspaper plant."
Cammy received new information from CamNet. It tied into a previous operation. It wasn't good news.
"CamNet's updated me." Cammy said. "The company is tied to some of the people who were compromised at the casino hotel in Las Vegas. It was the casino previously involved with the Syndicate and the Grays."
Savannah remembered the close one at Las Vegas. A lot happened there in a short time. They'd been able to uncover dozens of individuals who'd been compromised by the Syndicate for the Grays to put them under Skynet influence. What they'd just uncovered appeared to be one of them. There were other more sinister implications which needed to be considered as well.
"It's the same group that stole three nuclear weapons and tried to make a C-bomb." Savannah said. "There were at least two Terminators working with them."
It was the operation where they'd obtained Samantha's chassis. Savannah was the one who took her down to make the capture.
Cammy hoped their decisive action in the Nevada desert would have taken care of the rest of the group if they'd escaped the casino in Las Vegas. Somehow she was a part of it in the past, even if she didn't know how. One of her power cells was used as a timer on the large H-bomb Sheila and her appropriated in the late Fifties or early Sixties. The majority of her files were still blocked in regards to what happened in the past.
"It appears to be a small group." Cammy said. "Maybe they're all that's left of the others. Most of them should have been terminated in the mine when the H-bomb went off."
Savannah was still disturbed about how close everything happened with the timing. Somehow the H-bomb was tied in with Young Allison in the past, even though she hadn't left yet. She'd evidently directed Cammy and Sheila to put the 'grab' on an H-bomb about to be tested. There was still some question if it was really Young Allison from their timeline who was actually involved, or another version of her from an alternate timeline.
She wondered if the Fanatics were involved. They'd been tracking the Grays in Las Vegas. More than likely whatever was happening now was surely an extension of one of those two groups.
"What if it's the Fanatics?" Savannah asked. "They must be making their move now to try to get a government contract or access to some off limits computer gear or files even. It may be isolated so they can't hack into it. They may be about to hook SkyMaster up."
Cammy didn't like loose ends. It appeared to be exactly what it all was on several levels.
"None of this makes sense." Cammy said. "It's all illogical."
Savannah pointed out a grim reality.
"If it's the Fanatics, nothing's logical about insanity." Savannah said.
The issue caused Savannah to wonder how she tied into all of it as 'The Evil One' or 'The Redheaded Witch'. It wasn't a pleasant thought. Somehow it was connected to her, or someone who looked like her. Maybe there was an alternate version of her and Young Allison out there. The idea itself posed some interesting thoughts. She imagined what a 'four way' would be like between them.
Jim was back in the Control Center on the ship. He finished his check of the suites for the guests about to arrive. Everything was perfect.
He returned to the monitors. He watched them board the ship. Bob got them on without any problems. They were thorough security and headed up to the suite deck. Holly was with them to watch the girls. Gail was with Jesse and Hanna was with Claire. It was a last minute deviation of the plan by Cameron at John's urging.
What was disturbing was the report from John Henry about what he'd just uncovered. He figured Cameron would receive the report herself from CamNet. He didn't forward his report to her. He planned to wait until she returned. He didn't want to spoil her day with John in Ensenada. He would let CamNet do it instead.
He saw the group exit out of the elevator and head down the hallway. He went out to greet them.
A short time ago:
Gail led the group onto the ship. Jesse followed her. Jan and Summer were behind her. They were followed by Holly, Claire and Hanna.
Bob was ready for them.
"I've been waiting for you." Bob said quietly.
Summer smiled at him. She wanted to give him a hug but knew she needed to wait until they were isolated. She didn't want to blow his cover or their cover. She warned Jan to 'play it cool' again as they boarded.
They didn't want to seem overly friendly. They wanted to act like passengers returning from the gift shop. They cleared security and entered an elevator and headed up.
Jan noticed no one needed to push any buttons on the elevator. She was surprised as the door opened when they approached. The group entered. The door immediately closed behind them.
"What floor should I push?" Jan asked.
Before she could finish her sentence, one button lit up and the elevator started to move.
"I didn't even touch it." Jan said quickly.
Holly didn't want her to worry.
"Everything's taken care of." Holly said. "There are others watching over us at all times."
Claire and Jesse looked at each other. Maybe it was a subtle reminder they needed to take it easy what they did outside of their suite.
Summer looked up at the security camera and winked.
The elevator door opened on the floor where the button was lit up.
They'd entered the elevator on the disembarkation deck and went straight to their floor where the suites were located. They weren't able to see any of the ship itself. The hallway they went down was mostly doors for other suites. They were all closed.
Jim opened the door to the private area as they approached. Pleasantries were exchanged all around.
Jan looked around the private area. She thought things were going to be fancier.
Jim showed Jesse and Claire to their suite, the Master Suite.
He opened the door for them and they walked into the room.
Jesse and Claire were impressed.
"This is real luxury." Claire said as she looked around.
Both of the girls were clearly excited.
Jan was impressed as soon as they walked into the suite. It was even fancier than she thought it would be. She spotted the spare bedroom. It was actually a regular sized suite attached to the giant suite.
"Is this where we'll stay?" Jan asked. "This is really nice. I like it here."
Holly told them where their room was.
"No, you're in the spare room of the Honeymoon Suite." Holly said. "It's just like this. It's next to your parent's room."
Summer wanted to point out it was because her mother was in the Master Suite but didn't say anything. She understood the way the nightly activities would play out. She was sure they would intensify on the ship.
Jesse and Claire saw the options for them and the Metal girls. There could be different combinations for each other with the availability of the adjoining room. There were four large beds available, along with privacy, if it was needed.
Holly wanted to give them some flexibility from the start.
"You can each pick one of the bedrooms for yourself." Holly said. "You can switch around as necessary. There's a buffet currently serving breakfast items on one side and lunch items on the other. There are other eating establishments open on the upper deck. There's also room service."
Jesse and Gail decided to use the extra room in the Master Suite. Claire and Hanna would use the main bedroom. They figured they might as well get off to a good start. It was time to 'eat'. Lunch could wait.
Holly could see Claire and Jesse really wanted to be with their Metal girlfriends. It seemed it would make everyone happy.
She looked at Jan and Summer.
"Let me show you two where your room is at." Holly said.
Jan was clearly excited.
"Is it as big as the room we just left?" Jan asked.
Holly knew it was.
"It's basically identical." Holly said.
Holly opened the door for the girls and let them inside. They quickly looked at everything from the giant bathroom to the large walk in closet. They went to the balcony and opened the door and looked out.
Jan looked around the partition to the main part of Honeymoon Suite.
Summer noticed.
"You need to respect everyone's privacy". Summer said. "Your parents will be on the other side of the partition. I'm sure you've seen all there is to see."
Jan witnessed everything there was to see between her parents, including what they did together. She decided to avoid the issue. She much preferred to watch what happened in the girl's rooms when she peeked in their open doors. It appeared most of the same things happened, it was in different ways.
"I won't look again." Jan said.
Jan wondered if that's why they weren't put in the spare room with Claire and Jesse. She would have looked a lot.
Holly made sure the girls were situated. She asked them to stow their belongings.
"Who wants to take a look around the ship?" Holly asked.
Jan and Summer were both ready.
"I do. I do" Jan said.
Summer previously studied all of the plans for the ship. She studied more than the deck plans. She thought she could find her way around blindfolded.
"I'm ready too." Summer said.
She knew her com was on. CamNet would provide her with any information she needed. If it was anything important, she didn't think she would need to ask either.
Holly took the girls out for a tour of the ship. She made it clear to Summer and Jan she needed to know where both of them were at all of the time. If they needed to do anything apart, Gail or Hanna would come and assist her. The girls knew security was paramount. They knew not to play games about it or they would cause Holly unnecessary grief. They could put the entire Resistance on alert for nothing. Safety wasn't a joking matter. It never was.
She took them up to see the buffet and pool area. She told them there were several pools. They both liked the miniature golf area too. She said they would play there after lunch unless the girls wanted to go in one of the pools first. There were still a lot of things to show them. She also explained there were activity programs for children of different age ranges.
Jim was happy the new arrivals were all on board without incident. He could hear Gail and Jesse in the room next to the Control Center. It was too bad he didn't have a body cam to leave in there. He would really like to have some surveillance in all of the rooms. It would better allow him to monitor the safety of each of the individuals in their suites.
He reached down and unplugged his tether from the computer. He looked around for a moment. He really wondered where those last thoughts came from. Were they his own?
Currently, Cameron and John were behind the other two groups in Ensenada.
Cameron wanted a little better control. She passed by Derek and Riley, along with Dan and Frank. She soon passed Sarah and Kyle, as well as Ally and Sheila.
If there were any threats, she wanted to know first. They passed by a number of small vendors along the cement 'boardwalk'. There were no threats detected at all.
Cameron and John were now ahead of the other two groups as they took the lead. They were all closer together now. Kyle and Sarah were right behind them. Sheila was ahead of Kyle and Sarah. She was right in back of John and Cameron.
Every time John glanced back, Sheila would smile at him or wink. It seemed to make him glance back more often. She acted differently towards him now than she did before Cameron 'used' her chassis.
Cameron previously told him the 'real time' file transfer she gave to Sheila, was almost the same as if Sheila had done it herself. It was still Cameron who was in control. It might explain the 'look of love' that radiated from her when she was around him. It made him think of the 'one time' with him Cameron promised Sheila.
He really wondered how Sheila would be on her actual first time. He was sure it would be a much wilder ride than he'd experienced with Cameron.
What could it hurt? No, really, what could it hurt? It was just sex. He wanted to find out. He was up for it. A quick adjustment in his pants confirmed he was.
Ally was ahead of Derek and Riley. Frank and Dan brought up the rear. They were only slightly behind the others.
Ken and Lou were spotted from time to time as they did a roving patrol in the van. They could arrive in short order with heavy weapons if needed. The van could be used for extraction, cover, or as a weapon as necessary.
Once they were in the 'downtown' section, everything seemed to be tourist oriented. They watched some artists paint. The one they all liked the best was the 'finger painter'. He did detailed paintings with only his fingers. He painted little metal dishes that could be used as a coaster for a cup or glass. Some also could have a magnet applied and be affixed to a refrigerator. He was very skillful and worked very fast.
Derek noticed there were a lot of pharmacies. It gave him an idea. They all advertised the 'little blue pill' for a cheap price right on the front windows. He'd seen the ads on TV before.
No prescriptions were necessary for the medicine in Mexico. It was sold over the counter. He hoped to slip away from the crowd and obtain a few to 'keep up' with Riley.
He wished Jim or Bob was with them. He would ask them to obtain some for him. He didn't want the others to see him get them. He was afraid Kyle and John would rib him about it. He sure didn't want any of the females to know. He didn't know Kyle and John both thought about and considered the same thing. All the sexual activity wore them down as it taxed their endurance. It wasn't as if they couldn't do it. They all felt 'a little helper' would speed things up for the next round. There seemed to be quite a few next rounds for the three of them.
They walked through the downtown area for a while. It seemed they should head back soon. Everything was the same, even if it was on a different street.
Derek lagged back a little as they reached a corner. It was the break he wanted. He was able to grab Dan and slip him some cash. He asked him to discreetly get the medicine for him. He wasn't sure about the quality or counterfeits. He'd heard stories about foreign medicine before.
He told Dan to verify the medicine was legit. He made sure to tell Dan not to terminate the store clerk if it was counterfeit. He said to give them the chance to produce the real medicine first. It was the same reason he gave him the cash. He didn't want Dan to just take what he asked for him to obtain. Terminators weren't always known for discretion.
Dan fell back from the group for a few minutes when they went around another corner. He soon returned and quickly transferred a small bottle to Derek who nodded at him.
Derek briefly wondered if the directions were in English or Spanish. He didn't want to look at the bottle with the other so close. He'd find out soon enough. He needed to worry about the dosage and the frequency it could be used.
The group headed up another street and by dozens more small tourist orientated shops. At one point they passed a bar 'everyone' talked about in Ensenada. They went by without stopping. It didn't even look appealing in the first place. None of them liked the vibe they received as they passed it.
Cameron kept a watch on John and the others. She didn't want any of them to get tired out. She knew they were all a little sleep deprived. At one point they passed a small police station with a brand new police car in front of it. It seemed out of place in the surroundings. For some reason it would have seemed more appropriate to see an older police car with dents and scratches on it.
John didn't really want to do any of the other streets. They hadn't really even stopped at any location along the way other than to watch several artists paint. None of them purchased anything. He noticed Cameron gave each of the artists some money when they'd left. He thought it was a kind gesture. He realized it was the way someone earned their living. Government handouts weren't as generous south of the border as they were north of it.
"Is there anything different to see where we're at?" John asked.
Cameron tilted her head slightly.
"No." Cameron said. "All of the tourist areas are the same throughout Mexico."
She didn't mention some areas, like Acapulco, were a little more unsafe than their current location.
John knew it was pretty much the same from when he'd been there before. He didn't want to make a big deal about it but he wanted to say something. He spoke quietly the only Cameron could hear.
"Maybe we can wrap this up." John said.
Cameron didn't think they'd been out very long. She called Sheila up to walk along with John. She dropped back to speak with each of the couples. She decided to head back to the ship a short time later. The group stopped near a street corner. She presented them with an option. They could walk or ride. She didn't want to cause any strain on anyone.
"It's hot out." Cameron said. "If anyone wants to ride back in the van, they can. It's air conditioned. There's bottled water inside as well."
Ken and Lou pulled up and parked at the curb next to them.
Sarah was glad to hear the news. She thought Riley looked a little beat. She didn't want to say anything if it could be avoided. She didn't have to.
Riley thought she would like a ride back if some of the others would too. She didn't want to be the only one.
Sarah didn't want Riley to feel self conscious so she said she would as well. Derek and Kyle thought about walking back. Sarah gave both of them a stern look. They decided they should return as a group. They would all go together except for John and Cameron.
Cameron told Ally and Sheila to go with them in the van as well. They were all to go back and board the ship. She wanted to know as soon as they were all onboard. It would be a big worry off of her mind.
Dan and Frank would stay with John and Cameron.
It was a nice day.
What could go wrong?
Young Allison and Anna took in the news. It took an unpleasant turn very rapidly.
"This is something bigger than we thought." Anna said.
It worried Young Allison a lot. Where was the man previously at? Where did he come from in the first place? What was he doing there? What was supposed to happen? She wanted a thorough review of the drone footage. None of them showed when the man arrived at the location to begin with. If he didn't arrive while they were there, it could only mean one thing.
"We need to know what the unknown man did in the flood control channel. He was obviously at the old newspaper plant. He was there before we arrived on the scene." Young Allison said. "He was there at least before the drones arrived on the scene."
Anna went over Cam's report from her adventure in the drainage system.
"Cam said there was no way inside the plant from the drainage tunnels she went through." Anna said. "She did report some of the tunnels ended in a large collector with an open grate next to the building."
The reminder made Young Allison wonder if they'd missed something before. It could also be something happened there since then. It seemed the Grays or Fanatics still wanted something there or were still doing something there. She needed to address the issue.
"What if there was something hidden there we missed?" Young Allison asked.
Anna went over the reports and body cam footage. She didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Nothing stood out. There was no red flag.
"I don't know." Anna said. "The teams thought they found everything before they'd left."
Young Allison remembered everything was on one level. Maybe there was more than met the eye.
"There were no reports of a basement discovered." Young Allison said.
Anna verified the information again.
"No." Anna said. "They removed all of the machinery for the assembly lines from the building. Nothing else was discovered."
Young Allison wondered if a closer look was in order.
"What if there was one or something was, or is, buried there?" Young Allison asked.
Anna knew the teams inside of the old newspaper plant gave it a once over
"Cammy's team did another check before they left with the girls." Anna said. "They checked everything from inside the interior."
Young Allison didn't like the common denominator.
"It always goes back to those girls." Young Allison said.
Anna pointed out there was a suggestion they were from the future based on their appearance and physical condition. It was something they'd discussed previously.
"There was speculation they were right out of the future." Anna said.
Young Allison knew it was true. The shackle on the one girl's leg and the story about being freed by what sounded like one of Cameron's 'off the books' operations, quenched the idea.
"The story they told was one where they were freed by an operation Cameron, Ally and Sheila apparently conducted." Young Allison said. "It seems highly coincidental to me."
Anna knew Cammy scanned them during questioning. All the major facts held up.
"It may be true." Anna said. "Most of what they said was truthful. It was only on the personal things they were less forthcoming."
None of it made sense to them.
"I don't understand this." Young Allison said. "We're missing something."
Anna reassured her the team was working on it.
"John Henry and CamNet are going over everything continuously." Anna said.
Young Allison wanted to play some cards.
"Is the homeless looking man, who's most likely a Gray, if not a Terminator, fair game at this point?" Young Allison asked. "Maybe it's time to shuffle the deck."
Anna could see where things were headed.
"They seem Skynet related." Anna said. "I don't know if the man is a Terminator."
Young Allison wanted to make a move. She decided she'd better confer with Savannah and get her input. She planned to make a terminal move.
"I want to speak with Savannah." Young Allison said.
CamNet made the connection.
"You have a secure connection." Anna said.
Young Allison went over everything with Savannah.
It was clear what Young Allison was after to Savannah. She wanted Young Allison to know the repercussions of her decision once it was carried out.
"You want to kill the man leaving the area." Savannah said.
Young Allison was sure they were the enemy and they were being set up. It could be anything from an ambush or way to track them.
"I do." Young Allison said. "It's a hard call. I'm willing to make it."
Savannah knew the Terminators also wanted a crack at him.
"Cammy wants to beat a confession out of him." Savannah said. "I'm sure Steve and Tom do as well."
Young Allison knew it was standard procedure for Terminators to beat information out of Grays when they were apprehended. The Grays all ended up terminated.
"I understand. We all know what happens." Young Allison said. "I have one fear in all this."
It was the same fear Savannah felt.
"You think he could be a Fanatic." Savannah said.
They both knew things could end catastrophically for anyone who approached him.
"I do." Young Allison said. "It puts whoever tries to apprehend him in extreme danger."
Savannah was well acquainted with the Fanatic's antics. Gail took damage for her in Las Vegas. It would have most likely killed her.
"We know the Fanatics choose death over talking." Savannah said. "They've also been known to blow themselves up along with the building they're in."
Young Allison was very aware of the Fanatics' irrational tactics and the narrow escape the team experienced with the Fanatics in Las Vegas. She believed they were currently in a window of opportunity.
"Right now he's out in the open so he can be tracked." Young Allison said. "He could have remained in the flood control channel that parallels the railroad tracks. He would be in an open channel below ground level with numerous inlets pipes or openings to the storm drains. He could disappear into one of them in very short notice. It should have been his choice. It shouldn't be walking along the railroad tracks that parallel it in plain sight."
Savannah wanted to know more. Everything she heard made sense so far.
"So what's your theory?" Savannah asked.
Young Allison was sure there were two groups from the future involved.
"I think we have two of the three groups we fight in play here." Young Allison said. "There are Grays, Fanatics and perhaps the anti-Metal faction."
Savannah laid out what they knew.
"The old newspaper plant was being run by Grays and Skynet Terminators." Savannah said. "It's a fact we know."
Young Allison laid out the opposing force.
"OK, so the group opposing them is either the Fanatics or the anti-Metal faction." Young Allison said. "All three are our enemy."
Savannah was sure the man used the drainage system for access to the old newspaper plant.
"I still think the man did something through the drainage system." Savannah said. "Cammy wants to go in and check it out. She's already reviewed her files from Cam to see if there was anything Cam missed."
Young Allison wanted Cammy to watch out for an IED if she went in. There could be more than one.
"She would need to be careful of booby traps at this point." Young Allison said. "It still doesn't answer why the man is apparently trying to draw us or someone else out and is being used as bait."
Through deduction, the choice seemed obvious as to who the man was associated with.
"It makes him most likely to be a Fanatic. I don't think a Gray would want to do it unless they're a Terminator and know they can survive an attack." Savannah said. "I don't think the anti-Metal group would risk it either."
Young Allison felt they were back to the beginning of her conversation with Savannah.
"So we're back to the starting point where the man is a hostile and a Gray of some kind, maybe a Fanatic or a Terminator." Young Allison said.
Savannah didn't see any other options. She'd gone over everything several times herself prior to Young Allison's call.
"I agree." Savannah said.
It seemed to indicate to Young Allison a second group was actually the 'target' other than the Resistance. She believed it meant the second group needed to be right there too and around him.
"It means someone else is supposed to be watching him or following him and most likely is headed for an ambush." Young Allison said.
Young Allison asked Anna to check with CamNet again.
"Neither CamNet nor John Henry report any change." Anna said.
Young Allison hoped something would turn up. It didn't.
"There is no ambush spotted along his path." Young Allison said. "Or anyone who is apparently watching him."
Savannah pointed out the obvious.
"We're watching him." Savannah said. "Maybe we're the suckers and don't know it yet."
Young Alison didn't want to get played. Everything revolved around the girls again.
"I think those girls triggered a response the Grays or the Fanatics were able to track." Young Allison said. "One group, like us, came to investigate. It's possible if we didn't know about them watching, they didn't know we were watching. Nothing has happened there since the day of the strike."
Anna looked at Young Allison.
"What do you want to do?" Anna asked.
Savannah spoke before Young Allison could respond.
"We need to let this play out and see what develops." Savannah said.
Young Allison felt differently. She was ready to act.
Cam closed in on the truck with an intercept course.
She was going to stop it and 'converse' with the driver. Once she confirmed he was 'dirty', she would then beat some answers out of him. Based on the reports from the two girls, there needed to be some form of justice administered. Termination would be the best method. She was aware of some of Sheila's tactics too. They left a permanent reminder of what 'used to be there' if the assailant lived.
She would like to prompt Young Allison to make the decision once it was time. She would need to do it without Savannah being involved to get an unbiased decision.
The female Fanatic needed to find a way out. There were definitely more men in the direction she was going. They didn't sound like they were coming towards her as she'd first feared. She continued her approach. She couldn't tell if they were working or just talking. She might be near some type of control center or their sleeping quarters.
The latter thought sent a chill down her spine. If it was their sleeping quarters, she was going to avoid it. She'd heard stories about what it was like to be tied down to a bunk. The abuse could last anywhere from a few hours to a few weeks. It always ended the same way.
Hank continued to 'work' on the Gray he'd taken prisoner. He wanted to know exactly what was going on inside of the complex and how many Grays were involved. The interrogation didn't appear it was going to produce many results.
Larry continued in pursuit of the female Fanatic. He soon could hear more male voices ahead of him. He figured the female Fanatic was between him and the voices. He would need to use discretion when he caught her. He hoped to be able to terminate her before he engaged the Grays.
The female Fanatic slowed and she neared another junction. The voices came from the branch of the passageway. She felt as if she was being followed. She looked behind her as she moved forward to look around the corner. She couldn't see anyone but she could clearly hear at least three voices.
She quickly moved across the junction and continued down the passageway. She picked up her pace. She still didn't have any idea of where she was at exactly or which direction she was going. She wanted to find a way out. The longer she was in there without any idea of where she was at or going, the more uneasy and apprehensive she became. She needed to hold it together and not panic.
Larry figured he was closing in on the female. She was possibly trapped between him and the group of men up ahead. He hoped to be able to terminate her silently so she didn't raise any alarm.
The male voices grew louder as he approached another junction. He doubted the female went in the direction of the voices. He figured she continued down the passageway. He didn't like to leave any of the enemy between Hank and himself. He figured the female Fanatic would encounter some Grays soon enough. They would terminate her.
He went back to get Hank.
Hank beat what information he could out of the Gray. He wasn't very talkative. What little information he was able to gather indicated they were in a Skynet related facility. It gave further credence to what they suspected about the female. She most likely was a Fanatic. The use of the bomb earlier seemed to indicate it. He snapped the Gray's neck when he was done with the interrogation.
He went in the direction Larry went.
The female Fanatic passed some more rooms and reached another junction. She had a choice of three directions. She could continue straight, turn to the left or turn to the right. She could hear what sounded like machinery to the right. She could hear talking in the passageway in front of her.
She immediately turned to the left passageway and started to run. She felt trapped at this point with no way out.
Larry and Hank met up with each other in just a few seconds. They briefed each other on what they'd learned so far. They decided to continue forward and terminate the group of men at the next junction of the passageway. They would find the female and deal with her soon enough, unless the Grays took care of her first.
Dull And Mundane
Everyone thoughts and feelings
Are contained in their brain
The question for all is
Are the sane or insane
Do feelings that cause pain
Bind one like a chain
Do they lead one
To feel down and disdain
One should not look at things
That will restrict and detain
They need to concentrate
Om what they can obtain and attain
It doesn't mean life
Should be lived in the fast lane
That may be as vain
As it is obtuse and profane
Maybe it's only over oneself
They can complain and reign
It's only the confines of their skull
That's the extent of their domain
Will one be able to sustain
Or will they be slain
It's safer to just abstain
Or be viewed as dull and mundane
Nobody
