Chapter 1229
Happiness Is A Warm Gun
Cameron and John lost communications with the rest of the group. Cameron's com couldn't pick anything up. Neither one of their phones worked. They were in the dark and on their own. The nature of the threat was unknown.
They were followed by at least two men. They'd taken up a defensive position between a dilapidated vehicle and a battered shed. It appeared the shed was about to collapse. There were sounds all around them. They may be surrounded at this point.
Cameron didn't think the threat was Skynet related. The loss of communications couldn't rule it out. Once she was sure John was in a satisfactory defensive position, she would engage the enemy.
John watched the area behind him. There were some tall weeds in back of the collapsing shed and rusted hulk of the car he was between. He didn't like being in a pickle. He knew it was a bad decision to send Dan and Frank ahead earlier. He regretted not unleashing Cameron sooner when the threat was first detected. It all went back to the earlier 'trouble' he'd experienced in Mexico when he was there with Future Riley in the Honeymoon Suite at the small town. It wasn't the only time he'd let the little head do the thinking for the big one.
It was clear there were at least two figures moving toward his position from behind him. It wasn't a good thing for him.
He was about to tell Cameron when he saw her walk out into the alley. She went to confront the immediate threat.
John returned his attention to what was moving in behind them. It was clear the targets were almost to him. He would need to deal with the threat himself. He hoped he wasn't out of practice.
Young Allison and Anna were worried about Cammy and Savannah. They'd been in one position too long. There were too many things happening around them. The suspected Gray and the approaching passenger train were their two immediate problems.
Anna received an immediate alert from CamNet.
"I have some even more disturbing news." Anna said.
Young Allison was worried about what was happening right now. She wondered what else could go wrong.
"What's more disturbing than this?" Young Allison asked.
Anna didn't know much of the details.
"Cameron has called for assistance in Mexico." Anna said.
Young Allison felt her mouth go dry with the new revelation. It sounded like bad news. There were a lot of Terminators there with Cameron's team. For her to need help, something really must have fallen apart.
"She should have enough Terminators already." Young Allison said. "What happened?"
It seemed highly unusual to Anna.
"She's unable to communicate with anyone." Anna said. "Cameron and John are separated from the others. Cameron can apparently broadcast but not receive. They're under immediate threat by two individuals and may possibly be surrounded at this point by even more. Because she can't communicate with anyone, she doesn't know if it's a Skynet jamming field or not. It doesn't appear to be so. She doesn't know for sure yet."
Young Allison was caught off guard by the turn of events.
"Beautiful." Young Allison said. "I don't have any drones south of the border."
Anna was aware Young Allison staged some near the various ports the ship would dock in California.
"You have some staged near San Diego." Anna said.
Young Allison didn't expect Skynet trouble in Mexico. It was a mistake. A daylight launch may be risky. She would chance it if she needed to help.
"Are they able to be launched without detection?" Young Allison asked. "I didn't plan to use them until tomorrow."
Anna checked. They were in the back of a large box truck. They were located in a canyon. She knew once they were at altitude, they would be invisible to the naked eye. They could be blocked from radar or any other method of tracking them. They could still be spotted visually between their take off and the time they reached a higher altitude. It was possible they would be detected.
"I don't know if they can remain undetected, at least not visually." Anna said. "They may be spotted."
Cameron needed help.
Young Allison gave the order.
"Launch them anyway." Young Allison said. "Our people are in a jam."
Anna was contacted immediately by John Henry. He was concerned with the impending use of the drones.
"John Henry has communicated the drones may not be necessary." Anna said.
Young Allison wanted to know one thing.
"Are John and Cameron going to be safe?" Young Allison asked.
Anna didn't think there was an answer to her question since they didn't know exactly what was going on.
"There's no way to know." Anna said.
Young Allison wasn't about to back down. Cameron wouldn't call for help unless she feared for John's safety. Since they didn't know exactly what was happening in Mexico, she wanted to level the playing field. If Cameron was blocked, everyone else should be as well.
"Unless there's something happening to prevent an issue in Mexico with John and Cameron, send the drones anyway." Young Allison said. "Have CamNet cut all power in Baja California and jam all Mexican radar. I want to block all communications and shut everything down."
It seemed like an excessive response to Anna.
"That's a very bold move." Anna said.
Young Allison wasn't done yet. She wanted retribution depending upon the group involved.
"If this is the regional drug Cartel, I want it wiped out when the cruise is over." Young Allison said. "It will be a 'Maximum Effort' response."
Anna wondered how it would go over with everyone else.
"You'll need to use some moderation." Anna said.
Young Allison saw things a different way.
"I won't, not when our people are in a jam." Young Allison said.
John Henry contacted Anna again.
"John Henry has a new update…." Anna said. "Savannah needs assistance. She wants to try a gravity shot with 'metal hail'."
Young Allison wanted to support their troops. Savannah was the one on the ground. Her judgment was paramount.
"If Savannah has called for a 'fire mission', she needs it now." Young Allison said. "Make it happen."
Young Allison was ready to have CamNet act with a 'Maximum Effort' response if things turned for the worse. It would inflict a serious blow on anyone, especially anyone not from the future.
Savannah didn't want the person they were tracking to get away or try and board the train or do anything hostile to the train. It was time to act.
"Hit the target before the train gets closer." Savannah said.
Cammy received confirmation. There was a time factor involved.
"CamNet has fired." Cammy said. "It will take a few seconds for the results to happen. There's no way around the time lag unless the drones were at lower altitude or a missile is used."
They waited for the target to be hit. He suddenly ran across the railroad tracks. The projectiles impacted the ground where he'd been a second ago.
Savannah felt the man was lucky.
"He moved." Savannah said.
They didn't see him look back when the projectiles impacted the ground where he'd been a second earlier. They watched as he ran and went over the fence and into the flood control channel. It was a good ten foot drop after a six foot high fence.
He'd actually gone in the opposite direction they'd anticipated.
The passenger train continued to approach at its same speed.
"The train is going past his location now." Cammy said. "They haven't slowed."
The drone footage followed him into the flood control channel.
Savannah saw he was on the move. He was more contained within the concrete walls of the flood control channel than he'd been in the open area around the railroad tracks. She still feared he could be a Fanatic. She didn't want any of the Resistance team to approach him. There was one way to stop him now.
"He's headed back the way he came." Savannah said. "Hit him again."
Cammy pointed out he was all over the place as he ran. She wondered if he'd heard the impact of the projectiles behind him when he initially moved. He hadn't looked. He may have heard them impact the ground. It was doubtful he would know what happened since there was no sound of gunfire.
"He's moving in an irregular pattern." Cammy said.
Savannah could see there were only so many places he could go in the confines of the flood control channel. She didn't want him to get away.
"He is in a contained area." Savannah said. "Fire again. Use a wider dispersal pattern."
The person was a clear threat. She wanted him down for good. She didn't want any of their Terminators needlessly damaged if he was a Fanatic.
Young Allison needed to deal with several problems at once. The one concerning Cameron, and their involvement, was going to be a slower response. It would take some time for the drones to get to Ensenada. The problem with Savannah was happening right now.
"You deal with John Henry." Young Allison said. "I'm helping Savannah."
Anna was already doing it. She didn't want Young Allison to overreact.
"I am." Anna said. "You need to stay focused."
Young Allison barked out her commands to CamNet. The fact the target was contained within cement walls would allow her greater use of the various weapons on the drones with less collateral damage.
"CamNet, blanket the wash with minigun fire in all directions he can move in the space of time it takes the projectiles to reach the ground. Fire all the ammunition and move a second drone in to assist." Young Allison said. "Rotate every drone there to assist if necessary. Target his location with a missile and be ready to fire. I don't want him to leave the wash."
There was another development.
"Cam has acquired her target." Anna said.
Young Allison assessed the situation.
"I'm on it." Young Allison said. "What about John and Cameron?"
Young Allison needed an ETA on the drones headed for Ensenada.
They were blind in Mexico right now. The communications weren't good to begin with. Cameron not being able to receive was another problem. What was it? Was it equipment failure? Was it some jamming field? Who or what was behind it?
Cam followed the information from the drones to the location of the truck as it drove. It was headed back to the area of the old newspaper plant. She was soon able to get an 'eyes on' look at it. She'd acquired her target.
"I have the truck in view." Cam reported.
John Henry warned Cam of the two developing situations.
"Take appropriate action." John Henry said. "We currently have two active situations."
Cam was worried about Cammy and Savannah. There was nothing she could do about John and Cameron. There were eleven other Terminators with Cameron in Ensenada. They should be able to lay waste to the entire city by themselves. The information was disturbing. It made her want to get retribution on her endeavor.
"I have this under control." Cam said. "I'm going to get some answers."
John Henry hoped it would be nothing too extreme.
"Use caution and discretion." John Henry said.
Cam planned to get some answers. She knew they didn't always like the way she did things. She would deal with any fallout or repercussions later on.
"I'll do what's necessary." Cam said.
Vanna and Allison watched everything as it unfolded. Things seemed to be rather complicated at this point. There were currently three separate situations.
"I think we should go to the Command Center and be there with John Henry." Vanna said. "There's a lot happening."
It sounded like a good idea to Allison. She wanted to know what Young Allison was up to.
"Let's go." Allison said.
They headed out of the lab at a fast walk.
Vanna's phone rang. She saw who it was. She figured it could only mean one thing.
"It's Samantha." Vanna said. "Precious must need me."
Allison knew Precious came first.
"Go to her." Allison said. "You can always bring her to the Command Center."
Vanna spoke briefly with Samantha. When she finished she looked back at Allison.
"You go ahead to the Command Center." Vanna said. "I'll be there as soon as I can be."
Allison didn't want Vanna to worry.
"Precious always comes first." Allison said. "We won't have a lot of input as to what happens on the three operations anyway."
Allison and Vanna parted company at the next intersection. Both of them broke into a run for their destinations. It just seemed like the thing to do.
John held his M9. He waited for a target to present itself. They were already close to him. He still hadn't spotted them yet. He was taken off guard when he did. He was actually a little startled.
"Black." A distinctive voice said.
John responded immediately.
"Bear." John said.
There was movement right alongside of him.
"Happiness is a warm gun." Sheila said as she appeared next to the dilapidated shed. "Is it true?"
John was still taken aback but relieved to see Sheila. Her question could have a double meaning. It could be in reference to surviving a gun battle or a Beatles song. Since Sheila was the one who asked it, he was sure it was in reference to the Beatles song. He knew what the term 'gun' referred to in the song and why the 'gun' would be 'warm'. He needed to point out there was additional movement near him. He quickly refocused.
"Sheila!" John said. "There's someone else."
John still held his M9 ready.
Sheila knew who it was. She gently pushed John's M9 down.
"Relax, it's more help for us." Sheila said.
Ally showed herself on the other side of John.
"It's just me." Ally said as she appeared next to the rusted hulk of a car. "Were you going to use your 'gun' on me?"
The smile on Sheila's face broadened. She was pleased with her new sexual freedom.
"He used it on me…." Sheila said. "I should say he used it on my chassis anyway."
John looked at Sheila when she spoke. They both smiled at each other. He needed to worry about Cameron now.
"We need to help Cameron." John said.
John started to get up to go back into the alley. Cameron walked away only a few moments ago. He planned to join her
Sheila quickly reached out with her hand and held him back.
John could tell he wasn't going anywhere with Sheila in front of him.
Sheila looked at Ally. She decided she would go to assist Cameron.
It was soon clear why Sheila left Ally with John.
"You wait here with Ally, John." Sheila said. "Cameron won't want Ally's chassis damaged or you either."
Sheila moved away from John and went to stand next to Cameron.
Ally moved around in front of John to shield him.
It wasn't Ally's desire but she understood the situation.
"If they get shot up, I guess I'm 'it'." Ally said. "Cameron will want to use an undamaged chassis."
It wasn't what Ally really wanted. Under the circumstances it was understandable. She'd always known her chassis was a backup for Cameron's anyway.
John couldn't believe what they were talking about. There was a situation. They still didn't know what they faced yet.
"How can you say that now?" John asked.
Ally kept watch in front and in back of John.
"It keeps my mind off getting shot up myself, along with you." Ally said. "It keeps me from getting target fixation."
John could understand it. He didn't want anyone to 'glitch out'. He really wanted to know more about what was happening and the full scope of the threat.
"Do we know what this is?" John asked.
Ally seemed pretty confident.
"I do." Ally said. "Everything will work out fine."
John wondered how she could think it would.
"How do you know?" John asked.
Ally pointed to her ear.
"My com works." Ally said.
John worried about his family. He didn't know the status of Sarah, Kyle, Derek and Riley.
"Where are the others?" John asked.
Ally smiled to reassure him.
"They're out of the danger zone." Ally said.
Ally kept her up watch in all directions.
John was worried about Cameron and now Sheila. They'd entered the danger zone to face the threat.
Ally could see John was on edge. She didn't know the full extent of the threat. She didn't think it was Skynet related.
"It doesn't appear this is anything more than an isolated and local matter." Ally said. "You need to chill out. Everything is under control. You just need to believe me."
Earlier:
The group in the van tried to decide if they were going to go anywhere else before they visited the gift shop and then boarded the ship.
Riley wanted to visit the blowhole but no one else really wanted to. The decision was soon taken out of their hands.
The Terminators in the van received the one way transmission from Cameron for assistance. Only the Terminators in the van received the communication. They knew they needed to keep everyone in the van secure as well as assist Cameron.
The Terminators quickly discussed everything at a decibel level only they could hear. They decided to move two of the Terminators closer to where Cameron and John were at, but still keep a buffer zone for the rest of those in the van.
The van made a few turns and Ally and Sheila exited. They told Ken to drive straight to the ship and not stop for anything.
Derek and Kyle looked at each other.
"Why did we need to let Ally and Sheila out back there on the side street?" Derek asked.
Ken didn't want to get into the details.
"They went to assist John and Cameron." Ken said.
Sarah picked up right away something was wrong.
"Is it something we need to do as well?" Sarah asked.
Kyle and Derek felt it too. They already started to check their weapons.
"We're all packing heat." Kyle said. "Is there a problem?"
Lou wanted to get the team back to the ship. He wanted to remove them from the danger zone into a more secure location.
"You're all going back to the ship." Lou said. "Everything is under control. There are five Terminators with John."
Derek wasn't sold on the idea it was under control.
"It still sounds like something we need to worry about." Derek said.
Ken tried to reassure them.
"It's not." Ken said. "As soon as I let you off, I'll go back and pick them up. Everything will work out fine."
Sarah wanted to know more. She didn't think it was Skynet related. She did know Mexico wasn't the safest place on the planet. She'd left more than a few bodies in shallow graves when John was younger.
"Was there a beef of some kind?" Sarah asked.
Ken didn't think it was a problem.
"No." Ken said.
Kyle wanted to know more.
"Well, what is it then?" Kyle asked. "Ally and Sheila didn't look very worried."
Ken was assured everything would be taken care of.
"It's more of a training exercise at this point." Ken said. "Everything is under control."
The story sounded 'off' to Riley. It seemed there was more they should know.
"They're supposed to be on vacation." Riley said.
Lou could tell things were getting a little tense.
"It's a 'working vacation'." Lou said. "Everything is fine."
Derek wanted to go back. He was sure there was more going on than they knew about. He wanted to make sure all of their troops were accounted for, especially John and Cameron.
"I bet." Derek said. "I think we should go back."
Ken didn't think Derek wanted to endanger Riley.
"What about Riley?" Ken asked.
Riley checked her weapons. She knew everyone would come for her.
"If someone's in a jam, we're all in a jam." Riley said. "I'm in."
Sarah expected the van to turn around. It didn't. She wanted to be able to assist John and Cameron.
"Hey, we aren't turning around." Sarah said.
The van still didn't turn around even after her statement.
"It's because the ship is this way." Ken said.
The van continued on its way towards the ship.
The Resistance fighters in the van were all very displeased. Even if they were to get out. They didn't know where to go exactly. They only knew where Sheila and Ally got out.
"Everything is fine." Lou said. "There's nothing to worry about."
They all knew every time Cameron said she was 'fine', she never was.
Jim followed the events. He was in communication with everyone except Cameron and John. He was able to receive her but she wasn't able to receive him, John Henry or CamNet. She was unable to communicate with any of the Terminators in Ensenada as well.
He was satisfied the Terminators on the ground with John would be able to handle the situation. It didn't sound like anything more than a local incident.
He wanted Hanna or Gail to go back out to the gift shop to help escort the team back aboard. Hanna was with Jesse now and Gail was with Claire. They'd switched partners a few times already. He listened to what he could from the room next door. He decided to knock and enter. Jesse and Hanna were in the room currently.
He moved to the pass door and raised his hand to knock. The door opened before he could. Hanna stood there naked.
"You look beautiful." Jim said.
Hanna heard him approach and met him at the door. She figured there was some kind of incident.
"Thanks." Hanna said. "What's wrong?"
Jim saw Jesse lying on the bed naked. She looked just like Sheila to him except for her larger breasts. Needless to say, they lacked the jewelry as well. He remembered back when she wore them. It was before she started to assist with Precious.
Jim quickly filled Hanna in.
Hanna told him Gail and her would handle it.
Jim wondered if he should go at this point. One of them could remain in the Control Center.
"I'll go." Jim said. "You can take over here."
Hanna already made her mind up.
"Remain at your post." Hanna said.
Hanna went over to Jesse. She picked her up and went into the main part of the Master Suite with her. Gail and Hanna returned naked a short time later. They each carried their clothes. They entered the Control Center.
They dressed in front of Jim as he gave them a complete run down on everything. They found out about what was happening around the old newspaper plant and the trucker Cam was in pursuit of.
"What about Jesse and Claire?" Jim asked.
Hanna didn't see that as an issue right now.
"They're resting." Hanna said.
Gail thought Jesse and Claire could 'assist' each other if necessary.
"They have each other if they wish for further stimulation." Gail said. "It was their turn to share next anyway."
Hanna wanted to make sure Jan and Summer were good.
"How are Holly and the girls?" Hanna asked.
Jim brought up the surveillance cameras.
"They're having fun." Jim said.
He showed them a monitor with the girls on it.
"They do look happy." Hanna said.
Gail didn't want to delay any longer.
"Let's go." Gail said.
Jim offered to make sure Jesse and Claire would be OK.
"I can check in on Jesse and Claire." Jim said.
Gail knew Jesse would like if he did. She always liked an audience.
"Jesse won't mind." Gail said.
Hanna thought Claire would. She knew what Jim was really after.
"Claire might." Hanna said. "I can share some of my files with you instead."
Jim was surprised. He would like some first hand flies of sexual activity.
"You would do that?" Jim asked.
Hanna issued a warning with it.
"I can, but you'll never be the same again." Hanna said.
Jim wasn't sure what she meant.
Gail made a further revelation. It was something she'd considered multiple times.
"I'll switch chassis with you sometime for a few hours." Gail said. "I want to be with Jesse in a male chassis one time. You won't mind will you?"
Jim was thrilled with the prospect. He hoped Gail would share the file with him of the encounter. If she did, he would know what it was like, without actually having to do it himself. If there was any fallout, it wouldn't be on him.
Jim looked Gail over. He was ready for an upgrade.
"What happens if I don't want to switch back?" Jim asked.
Hanna made it clear there would be a price to be paid.
"Your chassis will be missing a few 'components' from it when you're Tasered and forcibly switched back into it by the rest of the females." Hanna said. "You may consider female DNA at that point for yourself."
Jim crossed his legs. He thought he better drop the current line of thought for now.
"The van is at the outer security checkpoint." Jim said.
Hanna looked at Gail. The van would be near the boarding checkpoint very soon.
"We need to go." Hanna said.
Jim was informed by Bob he awaited them.
"Bob is ready for their arrival." Jim said.
Gail and Hanna left.
Jim followed up on everything.
He wondered when he should check on Jesse and Claire.
Jim needed to make an adjustment inside his pants first. There was much less room inside them than there was before Gail and Hanna dressed in front of him.
He was afraid of all the room there would be in his pants if he defied the Metal girls and tried to keep one of their chassis after a chip swap. He rested one hand on top of his crossed legs. He knew they weren't joking.
Jim checked the security monitor. He saw Gail and Hanna were on their way out. He thought maybe it was time to check on Jesse and Claire.
Wait, maybe he didn't want to upset the Metal girls. Their earlier admonition resonated through his mind.
Earlier:
Dan and Frank remained behind to watch over John and Cameron.
John wanted to spend some alone time with Cameron. He didn't think it was necessary to have Dan and Frank with them. He asked them to go on ahead of them.
Dan and Frank wanted to stay with John and Cameron. They didn't like being sent away.
After a short time, they noticed John and Cameron didn't follow them. They thought it was odd.
They both tried to contact Cameron. There was no response. It sent both of them into an alarm mode.
"There must be a problem." Dan said.
They soon heard Cameron. It was clear she couldn't hear them. They listened to her situation.
"We can hear her but she can't hear us." Frank said.
Both of the big Terminators went back the way they'd come.
They saw two male individuals look around and turn into a dirt alley. The two males both pulled out knives.
They both took off at a run to intercept them. It was the location Cameron gave where she'd turned into.
They called for Ken and Lou to bring Sheila and Ally back to assist them. They worked in coordination with Jim.
They saw the van drive up the next street past the alley. It actually arrived much quicker than they'd anticipated.
Dan and Frank boldly entered the alley. They would make themselves the targets.
The two armed men looked in some sheds along the alley. They both held knives in their hands. When they saw the two Terminators, they turned to face them.
Dan and Frank walked right up to them and knocked the knives out of their hands and lifted them off the ground by their necks. The men struggled wildly.
"What should we do with them?" Frank asked.
They saw Cameron step out about half way down the alley. It was the location she'd described.
Dan found the struggling men irritating.
"We'll terminate them after Cameron joins us." Dan said.
A few seconds later Sheila was at Cameron's side.
Frank thought of a better idea when he spotted Sheila.
"Now we can give them to Sheila instead." Frank said.
Dan nodded. It sounded fitting. Sheila could use their own knives on them. They figured they must have wanted them used or they wouldn't have brought them.
"Everyone should have fun when they are on vacation…." Dan said.
Frank nodded.
"I know Sheila will." Frank said.
Cameron stepped out into the alley to confront the threat. She heard then saw Sheila and Ally arrive.
Sheila walked up and joined her.
They looked down the length of the alley in both directions.
"It looks like the problem is solved." Sheila said.
Cameron and Sheila watched Dan and Frank as they held the two perpetrators in the air off the ground. They both were about to pass out.
Sheila hoped the two men wouldn't be terminated before Cameron and her arrived where Dan and Frank were.
Cameron looked back at John and Ally.
"You two wait here for now." Cameron said. "Dan and Frank have taken care of 'business'."
John wanted to go see what was happening.
Ally blocked John's path forward.
He wanted to assess the situation.
"Why can't we go?" John asked.
John saw Sheila pull out her knife and smile. She walked with Cameron out of his view. He went to get up to follow them.
Ally held his arm.
"Stay here." Ally said. "Cameron and Sheila will deal with it."
It was evident to John there was going to be some 'street justice'. He didn't want things to get carried away. He certainly didn't want to leave a trail of dead bodies in each port they visited.
"I don't want a bloodbath." John said.
Ally resorted to her infiltration programming.
"How about I come up with another idea instead?" Ally asked. "We can practice kissing so we have a head start for 'later on'…."
John wasn't sure if she was serious or not. She still held his arm. It was clear he wasn't going anywhere yet.
He thought about protesting but didn't want to make it an issue. Technically it wasn't a Resistance matter. It seemed to be more attuned to one of Cameron's 'off the books' operations.
None of the Metal girls were going to take a chance with his safety.
Steve and Tom were giving instructions about the unknown van. They moved to intercept the van parked over in the next industrial tract near the old newspaper plant.
They were informed the van's occupants controlled the small drone that previously tracked the man who came up out of the flood control channel.
They didn't know who any of these two different groups were. They were either going to be Grays, Fanatics or the anti-Metal faction.
John Henry, CamNet and Young Allison all told them to use extreme caution as they approached the van.
They didn't have a good feeling about it. They currently faced the unknown. The unknown was always dangerous.
Hank and Larry went past the left branch and continued down the passageway towards the voices. They didn't know the layout of where they were at. They needed to keep track of the way out if they needed it. They hadn't intended to breach the complex when they did. It was an opportunity that presented itself rather unexpectedly.
Now there was another target of opportunity in front of them.
They slowed as they drew closer to the voices. They came from one of the rooms off of the main passageway.
"We're going to hit them hard tonight." The first voice said.
"We thought we were going to hit them hard last night." The second voice said. "Things worked out differently than expected."
"We lost a lot of people in the explosion." The third voice said.
"Most of those were recruits." The first voice said. "They were inexperienced and didn't follow their training."
"Dead is dead." The third voice said.
"It's true". The second voice said. "It's needless death that's a problem."
"Look, you know the SkyMaster followers are all nut jobs." The first voice said. "Our intel was good about their location."
"We need to worry about them hitting us." The second voice said.
"It's always tit for tat." The third voice said.
"They're probably planning a hit right now." The second voice said.
"We don't know what they're doing." The first voice said. "We have a probable location on them and we're going to hit them hard."
"What about the Resistance?" The third voice asked.
There was laughter from the other two men.
"That's why we're in the past." The first voice said. "The Resistance might have control of our future. They don't have control of the past. We've never encountered them. The Resistance in the past is a myth."
"It's all because of Connor's Metal Whore why Skynet was heavily damaged." The second voice said.
"We were sent back to make sure the Resistance never gets started." The first man said. "What we found instead were those nut jobs who work for SkyMaster. They're a much bigger threat than the Resistance could ever be."
The three men looked up in surprise as two large men entered the room with a Taser in one hand and a silenced M9 in the other.
The female Fanatic stood up with a knife in each hand. She started for the door. She put her knife back in her pocket. The knife she'd taken from the Gray was twice the size of hers. It would be more deadly.
She saw the door handle turn as she approached. She looked back at the dead Gray on the floor. She glanced over at the bunk with the rope in the corners. She wasn't going to be tied up there while she was alive. It sickened her some to know her dead body would probably end up there anyway.
She quickly moved behind the door again. She held the larger knife ready to strike. She intended to stab the individual the same way as she'd done the one currently laying on the ground.
Hank and Larry paused for a moment to hear what the men spoke about. It didn't appear their presence inside of the complex had been detected yet. The men spoke about the previous raid and a future raid they planned to conduct against the Fanatics.
They were pleased to hear the current group of Gray's didn't believe the Resistance existed in the past. It was the way they tried to conduct their operations to keep it that way. Cameron always questioned any prisoners who were captured. There were very few who survived to be captured. There were none who survived being questioned.
The two Resistance Terminators heard enough.
"Let's go." Hank said.
Larry nodded.
"It will be the same as before." Larry said.
They moved into the room with weapons raised. They each shot a man. They both pointed their pistols at the third man who remained.
"Don't shoot." The third man said as he raised his hands.
Larry knew they didn't have time for a proper interrogation.
"Where's the target you're going to hit tonight?" Larry asked.
The third man looked around. It was clear he didn't want to answer.
"There's no help coming." Hank said. "They've all been terminated."
The third man made a desperate lunge for something.
As soon as he started to move, Hank and Larry both shot him. His lifeless body fell to the ground.
Hank moved to check behind them to make sure no one else was coming.
Larry went to see what the man tried to get. He thought it was a weapon. It wasn't.
The door to the sleeping quarters started to open.
"Let's see if Jimmy is in here." The first man said.
"He's probably knocking one off right now." The second man said. "He usually does about six times a day."
"TMI, dude. It's only because we need some fresh meat around here." The first man said.
The second man laughed.
"Happiness is a warm gun." The second man said.
The first man walked into the room and stopped abruptly.
"What the hell?" The first man asked.
The second man bumped into him.
"What did you stop for?" The second man asked.
The first man bent down to examine the man on the floor.
The second man saw right away why the first man stopped.
"What happened to Jimmy?" The second man asked.
The female Fanatic waited behind the door as it started to open. Fear gripped her as she realized there were two men. She hoped there weren't more than two anyway. She listened to their conversation.
It confirmed what was in store for her if they captured her.
The female Fanatic peeked through the crack between the door in the wall and didn't see anyone else outside of the. She knew she needed to act now. One man was bent over the man on the floor. The other one stood behind him.
She made her move.
Happiness Is A Warm Gun
There's a hidden fear
Deep inside of everyone
They want to be someone
They don't want to be anyone
On a new adventure
They don't want a rerun
They want things to last
Not be over before they've begun
The sum of two
Needs to be more than one
Or the chance of success
Will be zero to none
The actions of some
Are bound to shock and stun
Wrong is wrong is wrong
No matter how it's spun
Things once fun
Are now the reason to run
It has a double meaning when
Happiness is a warm gun
Nobody
