Chapter 1342
Make It Your Best
Cameron was irritated with Sheila for being with Ally right now. It was going to be 'her' chassis in a few hours. She didn't like it being used right now before she was in control of it. Sheila could have Ally as much as she wanted once John was done making love to her in Ally's chassis. She moved rapidly past Holly, Gail-Cam and John. Vanna and Allison were still behind her. Everyone caught up to their partner.
John was a little worried about Cameron.
"Is everything alright?" John asked.
Cameron moved ahead.
"Everything is fine." Cameron said.
Vanna and Allison weren't sure why Cameron seemed a little upset. It was what Sheila and Ally did all the time anyway when they weren't on an operation. It was nothing new. Sheila was known for wild behavior. They were isolated and not really in a public place. There was never any mess to clean up with the Metal girls.
Cameron led the group into the lower entrance of the theater and down an incline. They moved past seven rows of seats to the front row.
Bob was there with a section roped off for them.
"I've been waiting for you." Bob said.
Cameron turned her head back and looked at the private box. She could see Sheila and Ally in there together. They appeared naked now. The one way glass went all the way up as she watched. Sheila left it down long enough for her to see them in the darkness. She hoped Sheila didn't make any 'modifications' to Ally's sheath before she could use it.
Everyone nodded at Bob and took their seats. Bob removed the decorative ropes which blocked off the area. There were six seats he'd saved for them. There was no room for the look alike Metal girls, even if they'd arrived.
John asked Vanna and Allison to sit dead center for the finest view. He wanted the best for them.
Cameron quietly suggested he sit between them but he declined.
He'd seen the earlier interaction and didn't want to get between the girls on the trip. He wanted it to be about them and their love. He hoped Cameron respected it as well.
He wondered if Cameron would put one of them in his bed like she'd done before. She hadn't done it since Savannah delivered her first baby. He knew it was where Cameron wanted him to focus. Everyone knew it was where Cameron wanted him to focus. Jesse, Vanna and Allison all backed off then. The new generation was functional and ready to take their place. At least the place Cameron wanted them to be. Wait. She was only following his directives, well, Future John's directives.
One thing was for sure. He wasn't turning down anyone again in his bed if Cameron was the one who'd put them there. He was actually surprised Jesse or Claire hadn't been there before they'd disembarked. Maybe Cameron was 'slipping'. He'd been ready in his mind to 'plow' either one, or both of them. He would like to try them one at a time for the first time. It would allow him to better know them on an intimate level. As sexually hungry as the girls seemed he didn't think he could handle more than one at a time. At least not be able to do a good job with two at once.
The thought of Allison and Claire together always intrigued him. So would Vanna and Savannah or Jesse and Young Jesse. For the latter two sets, it was literally the same person. One was just older and more experienced. He would like to see the difference first hand in bed. What was the real difference between innocence and experience?
John offered to let Cameron sit next to Holly and he would sit on the end of the group.
Cameron didn't like John being exposed too much. She asked him to sit next to Holly and she sat on his other side, the outside. She quickly explained it was for security reasons. He nodded.
No sooner than they sat down, the lights dimmed and the stage curtain opened. The cruise director came out and gave a speech about upcoming events on the ship. He mentioned again they would have the 'British Invasion' performance for a third time on the last night of the cruise. He mentioned it was the first cruise with three performances of the major production show.
Cameron smiled. She knew CamNet was behind it so all the Resistance team could view it during the different times they were on the ship. She would tell CamNet to double their salary for the entire week. Maybe for the final performance, if any of them would show some skin where the sun didn't normally shine, they could receive an additional bonus. It was a well known fact 'wardrobe failures' were common in stage performances.
The cruise director finished his speech and introduced a male singer.
Savannah and Young Allison were done with their food at the Munch Box.
Savannah wiped her mouth with a napkin and collected the trash. She put everything in the small flimsy cardboard box the food was served in.
"It was good." Savannah said.
Young Allison added her napkin to the box.
"I liked it." Young Allison said. "It was really good."
Young Allison offered Anna the last sip of her root beer float. Anna declined. Young Allison finished it.
Cammy took the box of trash and threw it away while Anna took the two empty mugs back to the window and returned them.
"I think we're ready to go." Savannah said.
Young Allison looked at Savannah.
"Where are we going to go next?" Young Allison asked.
Savannah wasn't sure what was going to happen. The operation with Steve and the teams backing him up bothered her. She didn't want Young Allison anywhere near potential combat.
"Maybe we need to think about getting you back home." Savannah said.
It wasn't what Young Allison wanted to hear.
"It's only an hour drive from here." Young Allison said. "It's not very late yet. It just got dark now."
Anna and Cammy checked their phones for any updates. They'd received almost nothing over their coms most of the day. It was because CamNet restricted information from them so the girls could have a good time. The earlier excitement at the mall was enough action for the day.
"Do you want to go to a movie?" Cammy asked.
Savannah wasn't so sure about doing it. She remembered what happened the last time. Things got a little out of hand. It wasn't their fault.
"I don't know if it's a good idea." Savannah said.
Young Allison could see Savannah's apprehension.
"We can just watch the movie and don't need to do anything else." Young Allison said.
Savannah wanted to check on the operations herself. She was sure there was more going on behind the scenes than she knew about.
She called John Henry.
Derek sat in John's spot in the Command Center.
John Henry was about to bring a drone in for a lower scan of the two buildings when he received Savannah's phone call.
He told her the operation was about to move forward. He told her so far there hadn't been any new developments.
Derek listened to the call as a one sided conversation with John Henry's responses. He was able to glean enough information. What he heard seemed to bother him a little.
"Is Savannah going to be involved in this?" Derek asked.
John Henry hoped not.
"I don't know." John Henry said. "She just finished dinner with Young Allison."
Derek didn't think Savannah would involve Young Allison in any combat. He still wanted to get into the game. They were short on Terminators. He'd asked about some of Cameron's Terminators earlier. He hadn't received a response yet.
"What's the story on any more Terminators to help out?" Derek asked.
John Henry wasn't going to involve Derek in potential combat.
"You know John and Cameron only want Terminators in combat." John Henry said.
Derek felt a lot of frustration over it and what some of the Resistance members faced. It wasn't fair without the burden being shared.
"We all know Savannah has seen more combat in this timeline than anyone else who isn't a Terminator has. It doesn't even include her time in two different futures either." Derek said. "We're all willing to share the burden and the risk. I am."
John Henry didn't want to have this discussion. It was a no win situation for him. Cameron's rules couldn't be violated without some negative repercussions.
"There's only so much I can do." John Henry said. "I'm not the one in charge."
Derek didn't look happy. He wanted the burden to be shared. In the future, combat was a way of life. It was a daily occurrence. It was all part of a Skynet future.
Sheila was all over Ally in the private box.
"Relax." Ally said. "Take it easy."
Sheila paused for a moment.
"I want to have you one last time as a virgin." Sheila said. "The next time I'm with you, you won't be."
Ally wanted to put a qualifier on it.
"You have all told me it's worthwhile." Ally said.
Sheila kneaded both of Ally's breasts.
"It is." Sheila said. "I can't wait to do it again."
Ally wanted to make sure Sheila was clear.
"You mean you can't wait for Cameron to do it again in your chassis." Ally said.
Sheila smiled.
"It only makes it better." Sheila said.
Ally was ready for a trip to heaven. She urged Sheila's head lower. Sheila started in.
"Make it your best." Ally said.
Sheila lifted her head and looked up.
"I always do." Sheila said.
Sheila started in with a renewed vigor.
Hanna and Cam-Gail went to the private box for the Honeymoon Suite. They could hear Sheila and Ally in the Owner's Suite box.
It was clear what was happening there.
Hanna looked at Cam-Gail with anticipation. She touched her knee.
Cam-Gail could see where things were headed. It would be fine later on. She hoped to watch some of the performance to see the different styles the artists used.
"Can we watch the singers first?" Cam-Gail asked. "I like to learn new songs and new styles."
Hanna didn't see why not. They didn't sleep. They had the rest of the night to do other things.
"Sure, we can do that." Hanna said. "It's Sheila who has no self control."
Cam-Gail thought Sheila should. It bothered her some when she'd heard the expression, 'the apple didn't fall too far from the tree'.
"Her base program is my program." Cam-Gail said. "I don't know what to tell you. It's embarrassing at times and I don't get embarrassed."
Hanna could see Cam-Gail was troubled by it.
"Maybe some of it has to do with the 'Neural Interface'." Hanna said.
Cam-Gail didn't see the same 'out of control' wildness in Jesse. Maybe it was all from the 'Old Jesse'. She'd suffered all the abuse and then dished it out herself. She remembered what Jesse warned them of during the 'Neural Interface'. She said there was a lot of baggage and darkness in her. Sheila inherited most of it. It was something she thrived on. There were times when it seemed Sheila was as excited as much by the violence as she was by the sex.
"I don't know." Cam-Gail said.
Hanna saw the male singer come out with a guitar. There was a stool and a microphone waiting for him. She wanted to redirect Cam-Gail's focus.
"I think it's about to start." Hanna said.
There was a loud thump on the wall between their private box and the one Sheila and Ally were in.
"I hope they're about to finish." Cam-Gail said.
Hanna tilted her head slightly.
"I think it was a finish." Hanna said.
Young Allison wanted to stay out longer with Savannah.
Savannah checked with John Henry to see what the current status was of the other operation. It appeared things might pick up soon.
He was about to conduct a low level drone scan. The drones scan would determine what the action would be going forward.
Savannah hung up her phone and put it away. She looked at Young Allison. It seemed to her as if events were going to escalate. They're more than likely would be potential combat. She didn't want Young Allison anywhere near it.
"I think Cammy and I need to check out the impending operation." Savannah said. "The Detail will need to take Anna and you back."
It wasn't the news Young Allison wanted to hear. She was prepared for it. Her com was fed all the information directly from CamNet by her earlier 'request'. She wanted to offer another suggestion.
"We can back you and the other teams up." Young Allison said. "It provides four more Terminators into the mix. That's on top of the eight who are already in the area plus Cammy and you."
Savannah noted Young Allison was willing to use the three Terminators in her Detail and Anna as part of the operation to assist. It would leave her without any protection at all. She also thought about what she said. She wondered if she heard her conversation with John Henry.
"I see you got the numbers right." Savannah said. "Did you get my call too?"
Young Allison moved her hair off of her ear.
"No." Young Allison said. "I got it directly from CamNet."
Anna and Cammy looked at each other. They didn't get the same information. It was a little unsettling to know Young Allison was more informed than they were. They also wondered if Savannah would question their interaction.
It was evident to all of them Young Allison was away from her bunker. She wasn't away from what was happening. She was still primed to make calls to aid the Resistance.
"It doesn't surprise me." Savannah said.
Young Allison felt a little defensive. She'd offer to step up earlier. She didn't think she'd done anything she shouldn't do under the current circumstances.
"I told John I would watch over things." Young Allison said. "It's what I'm doing. I can do multiple things at the same time. I've trained like this for years. I'm very capable."
Savannah knew it was true. Young Allison always excelled in everything she did. It was never just one thing. When she studied or tested, she did more than one thing. It was actually quite impressive.
She didn't know Summer could do even more. Young Allison kept it hidden as much as possible with CamNet's assistance and Anna's help. They both followed Young Allison's 'directives'. She wanted to acknowledge Young Allison's accomplishments. There were also other considerations to factor in.
"I know you're capable, Allison. I know it." Savannah said. "I'm responsible for you. I worry about you."
Young Allison felt it was a two way street. She wanted to be responsible for Savannah herself.
"I worry about you too." Young Allison said. "I always worry about you."
Anna saw the anguish Young Allison felt when Savannah was in a jam. Young Allison kept her cool and played every card she could to help Savannah. She did it even if she stepped on John's toes or John Henry's toes. CamNet backed her every play. She looked around their location. There were other customers approaching the order window at the Munch Box.
"We need to keep it cool for now, or move the conversation to the SUV." Anna said.
Cammy made sure no one listened to them. If someone seemed too interested, she would have a 'discussion' with them about manners and young teenage females.
She knew CamNet would listen in on everyone's phone around them and make sure no photos were taken either. She'd seen more than one phone catch on fire and explode when she'd been out with Savannah. It was the way CamNet took care of people who didn't mind their own business.
Savannah didn't want it to turn into an issue. She would try to make it more personal.
"I'm asking you for your corporation, Allison." Savannah said.
Young Allison didn't want to argue with Savannah, especially in front of others. It bothered her when Allison and Vanna did it sometimes. It didn't usually happen with Holly. Her mother and Hanna didn't argue much either. Their relationship with the Metal girls seemed more sedate and less volatile. She did know if there was an 'issue', the Metal girls would change the tactic to avoid a problem and 'attack' the issue from another way or angle. The goal never changed, just the path to get there.
The girls returned to their SUV.
Cammy didn't want any uneasiness between Savannah and Young Allison.
"I'm driving. Anna's in the front with me." Cammy said.
Savannah knew it was so Young Allison and her could continue their conversation and it wouldn't be a distraction to her driving. It would also allow them to be closer together.
Anna quickly got into the front passenger seat.
Savannah and Young Allison sat in the back seat. They could resume where they'd left off.
Cammy watched as the Detail all returned to the other SUV. They were ready to roll in a moment's notice. She was in no hurry to put Savannah in a danger zone either. It bothered her as much as it bothered Savannah to expose Young Allison to the danger.
All the girls checked their phones as the drone made its scans of the two buildings.
Young Allison typed some commands into her phone. She wanted a better look inside the building. There may be more at play than they could detect. There always seemed to be more at play than they knew anyway.
John watched as the singer introduced himself and said he was going to sing some classic country western songs. He stated there was a lot of interpretation as to what was 'country' and what became 'rock' or 'rockabilly'. He pointed out the style of how it was played was a factor too. The ship's orchestra, which was behind the stage, would supplement his music.
He said his first two songs were by Hank Williams.
'Hey, Good Lookin'' by 'Hank Williams', was the first song.
Cameron wasn't sure she liked the style of the music. There was a little bit too much 'twang' in with the lyrics.
Allison and Vanna were thrilled to hear live music played in a venue like this. They always wanted to go to a concert but they never did. Now they sat in front row seats.
John looked over at Vanna and Allison. They seemed thrilled just to be here. It's what he wanted to see on their faces. He wanted them to have a good time.
He really wondered if he would be able to have a good time with one of them or even both of them later on. He needed to push the thought from his mind. Whatever Cameron wanted to happen, is what would happen. He was just along for the ride. He couldn't help but steal another glance at Allison and Vanna.
Cam-Gail watched from her private box with Hanna. It was a different style than the rockabilly music her and Holly sang the other day when they were in the rear lounge. She could hear the 'roots' of 'rockabilly' in the song and see how both were the basis of 'rock'.
Ally's head hung backwards off of the chair she was slouched in as Sheila concentrated on her. She could hear the song's lyrics. She thought Sheila was good looking and she liked what Sheila was cooking up for her. She did plan to come along with her.
John Henry and Derek watched as the drone made a low pass over the two buildings.
Derek could spot what looked like people moving around in one of the buildings. There appeared to be one person lying down in the second building.
"It looks like more than four people." Derek said. "Are any of them Terminators?"
The drone used several different spectrums as it made its pass.
John Henry watched for a change in the actions or behavior of any of the people spotted in the two buildings. He wanted to see if anyone reacted to the drone. It was just out of human hearing range but not out of a Terminator's audio range. There was no apparent change in anything inside when the drone made its pass.
"There are four individuals Steve and Tom spotted in the north building. There are two people in the south building." John Henry said.
Derek looked. He only spotted one image in the south building. It showed up a little 'brighter' than the four in the other building.
"I only see one image in the south building." Derek said. "Where's the other person?"
John Henry glanced at Derek.
"One is on top of the other." John Henry said.
It took Derek a second for it to sink in.
"They're having sex…." Derek said.
John Henry nodded.
"It was my observation as well." John Henry said. "I don't see any active Terminators."
There was another worry for Derek. Sometimes it was all in the wording.
"Do you see any inactive Terminators?" Derek asked.
"I believe it's what the other four are clustered around in the north building." John Henry said. "It's consistent with what Steve and Tom witnessed."
John Henry started to receive new drone images. He didn't have the drone make a second pass.
Derek was surprised by the new drone images.
"Hey, there's a second drone making a pass from a different angle." Derek said.
John Henry could only come up with one explanation.
"It must be CamNet who's doing it." John Henry said. "I'm not."
Derek looked at John Henry. It seemed a little confusing to him.
"Don't you coordinate your actions with CamNet?" Derek asked.
There was no easy answer. John and him were supposed to take the lead on Resistance operations. Recently they'd been receiving additional 'help'. As far as any of Cameron's 'off the books' operations, John and him stayed away from them. They weren't normally Resistance matters.
"No." John Henry said. "CamNet will often act on her own or at the request of Young Allison."
Derek didn't like how it sounded.
"It seems like there could be a conflict of interests." Derek said.
John Henry looked at him.
"It's not." John Henry said. "It's a further use of our resources. It's often in ways John and I didn't think of or use."
Derek wondered about it.
"Do you mean CamNet thinks 'outside the box'?" Derek asked.
John Henry showed a faint smile. He was aware CamNet thought very much like he did.
"No. CamNet doesn't think outside the box." John Henry said. "It's Young Allison who does."
Derek nodded. He was aware Young Allison made some calls which prevented damage or termination to Terminators on operations before. They'd also saved Savannah from injury or death too.
"So what we've heard is true." Derek said. "Young Allison is a sound tactician."
John Henry wasn't sure how to label it. There was no rule book. There were certain ways things were done. Young Allison often accomplished them differently.
"She sees things differently than we do at times." John Henry said. "She doesn't play by the rules or follow them."
His statement made Derek wonder.
"What does she play by?" Derek asked.
John Henry showed the faint smile again.
"She plays to win." John Henry said.
Derek knew a person couldn't always win.
"Sometimes when you play, you lose." Derek said. "It's how it is."
John Henry knew it was different when the 'rules' were changed.
"The game is never over until she wins." John Henry said.
Derek thought it sounded like what Cameron did.
"It reminds me of Cameron." Derek said.
The answer to it was easy.
"Remember, they're the 'same person', in many respects." John Henry said. "One is human and one is a Terminator."
The notion really made Derek think.
"Which one of them 'made' the other one?" Derek asked.
There was another easy answer.
"They made each other." John Henry said.
The new images from a different angle revealed some additional information.
Derek looked at the new images.
"I don't think it's a good thing." Derek said.
John Henry nodded.
"No it's not." John Henry said. "We would have missed it with the first drone scan alone."
There was some slight movement behind Derek.
"What about the movement in the corner?" Summer asked.
Derek jumped a little. He didn't see anyone else in the Command Center when he'd arrived.
"Where did you come from?" Derek asked.
Summer smiled at him.
"I came in after you did." Summer said.
Derek never saw or heard her. His combat senses must be slipping. Maybe he was getting old. Riley did make some comment about it before he obtained the 'little blue pills' in Mexico.
"You did?" Derek asked.
Summer smiled again.
"I did." Summer said. "I'm like a leaf in the wind."
John Henry hadn't detected her approach or entry either. He was as surprised as Derek was when Summer spoke. It was clear CamNet watched over her closely.
Claire took over the instruction with Jan. She concentrated all her efforts on her. She didn't notice Summer leave.
Jan needed a lot of work but she was willing to learn. It was going to take some practice and drills to help her. She wasn't a 'natural' like Her Allison and Summer.
Claire looked around. She didn't see Summer. She figured she went off to study in her room. She was glad she wasn't involved in the Resistance operations like Her Allison always was. Dealing with the Resistance was a good way to be hurt or killed.
Jesse made sure Samantha saw plenty as she nursed Precious. She did tone it down when Riley joined them.
"I really appreciate this, Jesse." Riley said. "I don't have enough for more than a minute or two and it's next to nothing."
Jesse wondered if Derek helped her out on the ship. She was with Vanna, Allison and Claire often and the Metal girls. Riley didn't have the same 'support' as she did.
"Maybe you need someone who can assist you longer and more often." Jesse said.
Jesse looked at Samantha.
Samantha quickly looked at Riley and faintly moistened her lips. She was unaware she did so. It was some of her suppressed feelings exerting themselves.
Riley looked a little frustrated.
"I don't have anyone like that." Riley said. "It's my body that's worthless. You heard the doctor. Skynet did this to me."
Jesse didn't care much for the doctor, any doctor. They never really seemed to do anything anyway. She could prescribe herself to 'rest and take it easy for a few days'. What did it do? How did it 'fix' anything? She didn't want to get sidetracked.
"It was just a thought." Jesse said.
Jesse looked down at Precious and touched her cheek. Skynet ruined her body too. She couldn't even have a child. Even when one was conceived, it didn't 'stick' long before it terminated.
It saddened her a lot to know Skynet could still terminate humans who weren't in the same timeline as it. Who knew what toxins were coursing through her body. How many years did it take off the backside of her life? How was she even still alive? She should have died years ago.
Precious moved some. It brought her back to now. Skynet hadn't 'killed' all of her. She could still nurture a life. It made her smile. She could still beat Skynet in her own way.
The girls in the SUV all looked at the drone images on their phones.
"It looks like five people." Savannah said.
Young Allison looked at her phone.
"It's six people." Young Allison said.
Anna looked again.
"I think it is six people." Anna said. "Two of them are in the same spot on the south building."
Young Allison wasn't happy with the single drone pass. She'd directed CamNet to make a second pass from a different angle.
Savannah glanced at Young Allison.
"Do you mean they're making love?" Savannah asked.
Cammy was aware anything could happen inside of a room.
"One is on top of the other." Cammy said. "We don't know if it's love, abuse or something in between."
It definitely looked like something 'in between' at this point to Savannah.
Young Allison waited for the new images.
"There's a lot we don't know." Young Allison said.
There was a lot she wanted to find out too. Savannah was going to be there soon. When it happened, she would be in the front of it all. Savannah would lead with Cammy. Right now Savannah wanted her to go back to Palmdale. It just didn't sit well with her.
The female Fanatic watched the van make a left hand turn further up ahead. It narrowed the three choices down to one as to where it was headed. She would need to stash the truck for now and proceed on foot.
She left the lights off on the stake side truck as she passed the street the van turned down. She was able to see the brake lights and the right hand turn signal as it made another turn. Based on the satellite image she'd looked at earlier, she knew exactly where it would end up at.
The next street closest to where the Skynet facility was located was a dead end street. She decided not to use it. The street she was on continued in both directions. She would park off of it. It would give her more flexibility to leave the area if she needed to do so abruptly.
She already had a good idea of where she wanted to go. Not all the details were clear on every satellite image. Where she wanted to stash the truck was between two buildings out of view. She hoped there wasn't a gate in place. There could also be a chain with a padlock over one of the driveways. They wouldn't provide a whole lot of resistance to the liftgate on the rear of the stake side truck if she needed to force either of them open. She didn't want to damage the front of the truck.
It was fresh in her mind how the box truck could only go so far with a damaged cooling system. She still would need to go back and hopefully investigate what was in the back of the box truck. She didn't know it was a burnt out wreck at this point. The cargo was gone.
She stopped the stake side truck on the other side of the street. She made sure her Beretta and Thermite grenade were with her. She still had her knife as well. She quickly moved between the two buildings. The building on the west side had a locked gate. The building on the east side didn't have anything.
There weren't any security cameras spotted on the outside of either building. She hoped she wouldn't have to deal with any authorities or private security agencies. She ran back to the stake side truck and backed it up the driveway. She moved it to the rear of the one building and shut it down.
It was time to get moving. She immediately proceeded to the rear of the property.
"Damn." The female Fanatic said.
The wall was a little higher than she could comfortably get over on her own. She didn't want to burn the excess energy and struggle to do it. She looked around for something to stand on.
Something moved near some boxes she started to look at. The Beretta was in her hand instantly. She pointed in the direction of the movement. She wasn't sure if it was a homeless person or some type of animal. It was definitely bigger than a field mouse or a rat. It could be a cat, an opossum, a raccoon or some other animal. She didn't think it was a coyote. She thought the coyote would have confronted her already.
She would rather not confront it. If it was a mother with it's young, it could become very aggressive. She'd dealt with feral cats before. They were like mini mountain lions. Wait, it wasn't a mountain lion was it? She gripped the Beretta a little tighter. She knew it would take several shots to stop it. More than likely it would alert the Grays at the other location there was someone with a firearm in the vicinity. She could take all the other animals with the knife if she needed to. She didn't want to risk a mountain lion being able to get a hold of her. It would be easier to stab if it did. It could also injure her severely.
It was something black. It must a feral cat.
Wait.
It had a white stripe on it.
It was a skunk. She backed away from the location quickly. She didn't want to get sprayed by it. It was very difficult to wash off the smell. It would severely hinder her operations moving forward if she 'stunk like a skunk'.
She moved to the corner of the property. There was the usual pile of debris in the corner. It seemed every place always thought they might need something later on and usually took it out to the back to store it. The storage area usually turned into a pile of junk. She looked around for something stable. There were several large plastic containers. They were of the stackable type. They were about eight inches deep. There were four of them. She used all four. She stacked them together and tested it for stability. It would almost give her an additional three feet in height. It would be enough for her to easily get over the wall. She glanced behind her to make sure the skunk hadn't followed her. It didn't.
It was time to get moving. She grasped the top of the wall, pulled herself up and dropped over to the other side. She figured if there was a dog over there, it would have made itself known by now. It probably would have been agitated by the presence of the skunk, even if it was on the other side of the wall.
When she landed on the other side, she looked around for anything to help make it easier for her to get back over to the side where her truck was parked. She was glad she'd spotted some pallets. She moved one over to the fence but didn't stand it up right. She didn't want to give anything away.
She moved to the property and out onto the next street. It was a cul-de-sac. She moved to the end of the cul-de-sac and into the field next to it. There was a slight incline to the north. There was only some scrub brush in a few spots. There were a lot of rocks. It was mostly dirt. There was also a scattering of tumbleweeds. She knew to avoid contact with them if possible. She might need to hide in back of one for cover. She knew not to touch it. Any encounter with a tumbleweed left a multitude of little thorns in a person's hand. She'd encountered them before.
She moved up alongside of the other building across the street from where she'd come through. She thought about staying up next to the fence as she moved forward but decided not to. She moved about a hundred feet off to the side.
There were a few scruffy trees out there. They wouldn't provide much cover. They would provide her with some cover if she needed it. The building she was after wasn't the one on the other side of the next cul-de-sac. It was on the north side and back two buildings. As she moved along, the incline of the terrain began to increase. It actually increased a little more dramatically than she'd expected. She understood now why the street ended in a cul-de-sac. A lot of earth would have needed to be moved to continue the street.
She needed to move slowly. It was dark but there was still enough light to make out the ground in front of her. She hadn't tripped on any rocks yet. She hoped not to. She didn't want to give her position away.
She also needed to consider the possibility of the other animals she thought about earlier. Now there was the possibility of snakes. She was aware snakes with a diamond shaped head were normally vipers. She hoped not to encounter one. It most likely would be a rattlesnake. Since the sun was down, it would be resting. If she were to step on it or get too close to it, it more than likely would bite her and inject her with venom. Even a juvenile rattlesnake could deliver a paralyzing or fatal bite to a human.
The area around her suddenly went dark. Her eyes were well adjusted to the darkness at this point. She glanced up at the sky. The moon had disappeared behind some clouds. She looked over the cloud cover. It was very spotty right now. It could change rapidly. She hoped there wasn't a 'marine layer' developing. It could occur when the winds blew in from the ocean. Most of the time the high pressure was over the land and the wind blew out towards the ocean.
She made her way up the hillside until she was about two hundred feet away from the row of businesses. She moved towards the west once the moon reappeared. She needed to keep a lookout for anything around her. If there were any sensors or tripwires, she more than likely wouldn't be able to detect them until she'd inadvertently activated one of them.
There were a few lights on in some of the buildings. None of them pointed up towards the hillside. She stopped when she was one building away from her target location. From her elevated position she could see the brown van behind the next building. The buildings against the hillside were laid out a little differently. All of the loading dock space was in the front of the building. There was still several hundred feet of space behind the buildings. It allowed whoever owned or leased the building to build sheds or other small buildings back there. It also gave them some storage space. If a big rig were to show up, it would be easier for it to back right up to the front of the building.
The clouds moved in front of the moon from time to time. She would select the path she wanted to follow. She would move up to the next bush and wait. When the clouds blocked the moonlight, she hoped it would make her presence harder to detect if anyone was looking. She doubted they would be. It was too dark to tell if there was any surveillance equipment set up. She did look for the glow of an arc of light from a cigarette. Often a sentry was sloppy and would smoke on the job. The tell tale arc of the cigarette was always a giveaway.
There was no activity to spot from where she was currently located. She would need to move closer. She thought with the front of the building set up to receive trucks, it would be easiest to deliver her bomb from the front side. There was often a ramp associated with a dock system of that nature. If not, she would deliver the truck right through the front office space. Most of the walls in the office area wouldn't be load bearing. The stake side truck should be able to plow through them easily.
It was the hillside location which caught her attention. She needed to know more before she acted. She didn't want to blow up the building and not damage anything if it was located in the hillside. She'd already dealt with a similar location yesterday. Maybe it was the day before. Her mind was a little foggy. She was glad she'd consumed the MREs and a couple of more anti drowsy tablets before she started out on foot. She still had a quarter of a bottle of water left. She didn't bring it with her.
The female Fanatic made her way towards the rear of the target location. She only carried her knife, the Beretta and the Thermite grenade. It was time to see what Skynet was up to.
CamNet's Terminators continued to close up on the female Fanatic and the Gray as they headed towards what appeared to be a new destination. Somewhere along the way they were to hand off the truck to another of Cameron's Terminators. Right now they were the only two Terminators who worked exclusively for CamNet.
They were aware John Henry inquired about the availability of any additional Terminators. It wasn't something which happened very often.
The two female Terminators looked at each other.
"I don't think it will be us." Lena said.
Tina thought about their appearance.
"I don't think it will be either." Tina said. "If it becomes necessary, we can go anyway."
Lena was sure it would be a bad idea.
"I don't think Cameron would be very pleased to know we've been activated." Lena said.
Tina reflected a little further about their appearance.
"I don't think we would fit in with Cameron's current plans." Tina said.
Lena was sure Tina would be more likely to be 'used' than she would.
"I believe your appearance would cause less distress to the General than mine would." Lena said. "He's already familiar with everything you have to offer."
It didn't seem like anything they should discuss right now.
They were soon informed by CamNet they would be relieved of the box truck with the drone in the back of it.
They inquired if the Terminator about to pick the truck up could be used elsewhere. CamNet told them not to worry about the other operation currently. Everything was under control so far. There were a few drones over the location. If there was any activity, they should be able to deal with it.
They watched where the brown van ended up at. It was a location previously unknown to them. They also watched where the female Fanatic ended up at. Once again they saw her unconventional approach.
"She's spotted some type of danger." Tina said.
Lena looked at a zoomed-in drone image.
"It appears to be a Mephitidae, a skunk." Lena said.
Tina was aware of the species.
"I wonder how it would react to our new pheromones." Tina said. "I don't think it would view us as a threat."
Lena thought it would depend upon the circumstances.
"We don't know what any animal will do." Lena said. "It applies to humans as well."
Tina knew humans exhibited quite a bit of irrational behavior.
They were still several miles from the location when they were told their new ride would be waiting for them.
They pulled up behind another SUV. They looked around for the driver. None was spotted. CamNet told them to take the SUV and close in on the location of the Gray and the female Fanatic.
When they inquired about leaving the box truck and the drone unattended, they were informed it wasn't unattended. The other Terminator was there waiting to take it. They figured CamNet may have dipped into Cameron's Menagerie a little further. They knew it was best not to ask questions.
The keys were left in the ignition of the box truck. They did a quick inspection of the back of the SUV before they got in. They noted there were several satchel charges and an additional supply of Thermite grenades over what a standard SUV would be equipped with.
They got into the SUV and pulled away.
Tina briefly looked back in her rear view mirror as she drove away.
"Someone just got into the box truck." Tina said.
Lena figured everything was being watched by drones.
"We're not being told to go back, so I don't think we should worry about it." Lena said.
They did wonder who the mystery Terminator was who'd retrieved the box truck. There must have been a reason CamNet didn't want them to see.
CamNet's Terminators watched the progress of the female Fanatic. They weren't sure if they would need to go up onto the hillside or remain in the vicinity of where she'd parked the stake side truck. They had a feeling some of the satchel charges and additional Thermite grenades would somehow be delivered to her by them. It wasn't their choice. They didn't like assisting or coddling the enemy. They would both rather terminate her instead.
Make It Your Best
When two are together
There shouldn't be a contest
Everything should be known
There need be no test
Deep inside of each other
Love should grow and manifest
They should feel it in the soul
As over the top it will crest
Upon their own laurels
One can never rest
To share love's journey
Will become the quest
Everything must be mutual
Things can be explored with zest
There's no need to protest
Only with themselves they need wrest
Don't become a pest
Don't hide behind a jest
Try to build a nest
Make it your best
Nobody
