Chapter 1450
Felt It Knock
Savannah could see the paved road ahead. They were almost out of the 'Badlands'. She was worried an EMP would go off or a sniper's round would find her. Nothing happened. She was actually surprised.
Cammy was glad once they reached the paved road. The hills and the rocks were behind them. They should be a little safer now.
"We're clear." Cammy said. "We'll be home soon enough."
Savannah let out her breath. She'd been holding it. She looked around her carefully to see if there was any unseen threat. None was spotted.
"We need to run everyone through a few ambushes on the way back." Savannah said. "I don't know if we want to do vehicle swaps or not."
Cammy wasn't sure if it was necessary. They currently were covered by numerous drones.
"Let's see what the ambushes or drones turn up first." Cammy said. "I think we have about two drones for every vehicle in the area."
Savannah wanted the targets covered.
"I want two drones over each location we saw action at today." Savannah said. "I want one of each pair at maximum altitude to watch over the one at the lower altitude. We need to see if anybody seems a little overly interested in any of the locations."
Cammy was sure they were clear.
"We should be good." Cammy said. "Each of the locations is currently under observation."
Savannah was still concerned. They didn't know which groups they'd encountered specifically, other than the anti-Metal faction.
"We encountered two or three different groups at the port today." Savannah said. "I think the anti-Metal faction expected Grays or Fanatics, not the Resistance yesterday and today."
Savannah didn't know if the Syndicate was involved either.
Cammy frowned. There was another issue she wanted to address. It was the 'elephant in the room'. It wasn't a subject she liked to deal with. She needed to see if it was what Savannah wanted. She was aware the true test of love was sacrifice.
"It's true." Cammy said. "Do you want Cameron to ride with us?"
Savannah reached over and touched Cammy's leg. She knew it was a touchy subject for Cammy. It didn't need to be.
"I think we're all good until we get back." Savannah said. "I really want a hot shower and I'm ready for my bed to sleep in."
Cammy didn't think it would be so easy. There were a couple of things on Savannah's plate, or there should be anyway.
"You need to eat too." Cammy said. "Young Jesse will want to see you as well."
Savannah looked over at Cammy. She hoped it would be less of a problem for Cammy when she was with Young Jesse. Cammy could share with her as well.
"I really miss her." Savannah said.
There were more than a few things on Savannah's mind. She indicated for Cammy to turn her com off.
Cammy did and looked at her. She was a little concerned.
"What is it?" Cammy asked.
Savannah gritted her teeth a little and let out her breath. There was nothing to do but say it.
"Cameron may want to use your chassis tonight since I'm beat." Savannah said. "I just want you to know you can do what you want and don't need to do anything you don't want to do. I want you to know I'm OK with anything, as long as everyone agrees. Everyone has the right to choose."
Savannah felt it included her with CamNet. She thought it was best if she didn't mention it right now.
Cammy secretly communicated with Sheila previously. She was convinced what Cameron 'offered' was a good thing. The Metal girls were all ready to line up for more. They all wanted their 'one time' with John. They were also willing to let Cameron borrow their chassis and do the file transfer in real time as much as she wanted. She was willing to give it a go.
"It's most likely I won't be a virgin tomorrow morning." Cammy said. "At least my chassis won't be. It's something I would like to experience, even if Cameron is in control."
Savannah touched Cammy's leg again. It wasn't what she would want for herself. She did want to know more.
"You can tell me 'what it was like' then." Savannah said. "It'll help me know what to expect."
Savannah previously asked all the females 'what it was like' to be with a male. It included Claire and Sarah. She'd started asking Vanna and Allison soon after she understood what Cameron wanted from her and for her to do with John. She would ask Young Jesse about it tonight too. She was sure they would share before she fell asleep. She didn't plan to do an 'all nighter' either. She needed to let Young Jesse know ahead of time. She didn't want it to seem like a snub. She didn't see any reason why Young Jesse couldn't be with the others while she was asleep.
Cammy didn't think it was anything Savannah needed to worry about. It was something all humans did. In fact all animals did it. It's how they reproduced.
"I think if it's done with a loving touch, you'll find it a pleasurable experience." Cammy said. "I'll let you know what Cameron experiences in my chassis."
They turned their coms back on.
Savannah thought of the times when John and her were close to making love. She felt it knock on her door. It was right there ready to happen. They were so close. She still hoped to try it one time before she was maimed or killed. Even if she didn't enjoy what happened, she would at least know what it was like. It didn't seem like a big deal to her one way or the other. All of the animals did it to propagate the species. She could at least do the same.
John checked to make sure everyone was on the way back safely. John Henry and Summer both checked everything to make sure there were no problems spotted.
"I think everything is good for now." John said.
Summer looked over at him.
"Is that my cue to leave?" Summer asked.
John didn't want any problems.
"I understand your situation." John said.
John Henry liked her assistance.
"She's done an outstanding job." John Henry said.
Summer wanted to downplay her role. She thought it was more of a case of being in the right place at the right time.
"We all do what we need to do, when we need to do it." Summer said.
John didn't like the train of thought from her. It was Cameron's philosophy. It was Cameron's justification for being next to a nuclear bomb more than once as it was about to go off.
He didn't have any idea the same philosophy had been instilled in Savannah and Young Allison. They'd both been willing to do exactly the same thing, just a night ago.
Jesse currently nursed Precious. She liked the view Riley gave her when she'd entered. It was a 'full display' of herself. Now it was her turn to have herself on 'full display'.
Samantha liked what she saw from both of the girls. She was sweet on Riley. She'd already shared with most of the other girls, both the human girls and the Metal girls, over the last week. She hoped to score with the rest of the girls once they returned before Cameron really cracked down on her.
Riley felt anxious about Derek being out. Everything was downplayed so she didn't know the full scope of the danger he'd been in. She was just glad he was on the way back along with everyone else.
Summer sent Jan a message to inform Sarah that Kyle was on his way back and everyone was OK.
Jan was already working with Young Jesse when she received the message. She was about to do it, when she thought Claire might wonder how Summer knew it. Her mother was sure to ask her who said so. She sent Summer back a message. She felt John should come and tell Sarah himself. It was about their father after all.
John appeared in the commissary about a minute later.
"Hi, everyone. Hi, Mom." John said. "The team is clear and will be back in about an hour or so. There weren't any problems or difficulties. Everyone is fine."
Sarah knew how things played out. Things always took longer than planned.
"The translation of it is, it will probably two hours." Sarah said.
She really hoped it wouldn't be more.
Claire could see they were going to have everything ready way before then. They needed to hit the brakes. She would prefer to have fresh food for everyone rather than let it set for hours.
"I think we need to slack off on what we're doing here." Claire said. "Everything is going to be overcooked."
Sarah cringed at the mention of overcooked food. She was sure the finger would be pointed at her. It seemed to be her biggest culinary catastrophe. It wasn't so much things were actually overcooked. It was more related to her using too high of heat to speed things up. Something usually happened to distract her for a few minutes and by the time she returned, there was smoke coming out of the pan.
Jan thought there was a workable solution.
"We could have the Blackhawk go get the people and bring them back for dinner." Jan said. "It would be quick and easy."
Sarah and Claire both liked the idea.
Young Jesse wanted to add her two cents worth.
"It's a good idea. Not everyone will come back though. Savannah won't leave the Terminators behind." Young Jesse said. "I've read every report from her and I know she won't since this was her mission. She would rather not eat and miss more sleep than leave anyone behind."
Sarah nodded. Savannah was one for carrying things through to the finish. It was a very good quality.
"She's right." Sarah said. "Savannah will make sure everyone is back and situated before she takes care of herself."
Jan still thought it was a nice idea.
"It was just a thought." Jan said. "You know I miss Dad."
Allison was glad they were clear of the danger area. She wasn't really sure what they were going to face. It didn't matter. She still would have gone no matter what the situation was.
"It worked out better than expected." Allison said.
Bob wondered what she thought was going to happen.
"Did you expect casualties?" Bob asked.
Allison still followed behind Derek.
A squirrel ran out in the street after Derek passed. Allison blew her horn at the squirrel. It was a little over half of the way across the street. It turned around and ran back. She didn't act and ran over it.
Bob noted Allison didn't even attempt to break. He wasn't sure if she was tired or distracted.
"Would you like me to drive?" Bob asked.
Allison looked over at him.
"Why?" Allison asked. "I thought I was doing fine."
Allison saw Jim look at her as well. She didn't think it was a big deal. She knew it was about the squirrel. She really didn't think it was a problem. It didn't matter.
"It was just a rodent." Allison said. "Are you going to tell me Terminators would have risked having an accident to avoid it?"
Bob sensed a problem developing. He was aware females could become feisty and combative easily. He didn't want any hard feelings.
"I would've braked a little." Bob said. "There may be blood on the SUV now.
Allison figured the SUV would be dumped soon enough. They cycled through a lot of vehicles.
"They can deal with it at the impound yard when they recover this vehicle." Allison said. "Besides, squirrels were hard to catch in the future. It makes up for all the ones I couldn't catch. Maybe I should go back and run over it again."
Bob and Jim looked at each other. They didn't know if she was serious or not.
Allison spotted something up ahead. It was water. She decided to take care of the issue Bob pointed out.
Bob was a little surprised when the vehicle swerved over towards the curb. He could hear splashing and see water fly up along the side of the vehicle.
Allison was pleased with her driving skill. The tires only rubbed the curb a couple of times.
"I think it will take care of any blood." Allison said.
Jim would have preferred if she wouldn't have gone over to the other side of the street to wash the blood off. He was just glad there was no oncoming traffic. A head on collision would have been a problem.
Allison moved back over to the proper side of the road. She stayed behind Derek. Vanna was on her six.
Bob decided to issue a preemptive warning. He didn't want any issues.
"There are children in the crosswalk up ahead." Bob said. "I can see them."
Allison left off the gas.
"Thanks." Allison said. "I don't want to hurt any kids."
Allison really didn't think there was anything wrong with her driving. She just thought people needed to be a little more attuned to their vehicles. Driving wasn't hard at all. It was actually quite invigorating. All it took was a little skill.
Seconds ago:
Vanna watched as Allison ran over a squirrel. She drove off to the side of it a little to avoid it.
"Did you see what just happened?" Vanna asked.
Sheila, Steve and Tom were in her SUV.
"I saw it." Sheila said. "The animal was too slow. If it would have moved a little faster, it would have made it."
Vanna was a little appalled with her response.
Steve felt the blame belong with the small animal. It was the one who'd made the poor choice.
"It already completed sixty two percent of its journey." Steve said. "It should have continued on its way. It would still be alive. Its thought process was flawed."
Vanna didn't like his response any better.
Tom simply saw it as propagation of the species according to the laws of nature.
"It's survival of the fittest." Tom said. "The rodent was ignorant. It more than likely would have produced inferior offspring."
Vanna decided to drop it. Maybe she was being a little hard on Allison. She remembered all the times in the future when she tried to catch a squirrel but couldn't. She briefly wondered now if she shouldn't have run over it as well to make a point. She hoped some other animal would be able to make a meal out of it. She hoped it wasn't hit as well attempting to pick it up out of the street.
Cameron was in the rear seat of the SUV Kyle drove. She'd already stowed the M82A1. She looked back to where Savannah was at.
They were out of the potential danger zone for now. She would really like to ask Kyle to pull over and let her out. She could ride back with Savannah then. Maybe she could get Cammy to ride with Kyle.
Cam noticed Cameron glanced back a few times. She knew what Cameron thought about.
"You should have made your move earlier. I specifically chose to stay with my team rather than switch to Vanna's SUV. I didn't want to be a distraction." Cam said. "You'll be back soon enough."
Cameron turned back around and faced forward.
"It's true." Cameron said. "I've missed her greatly."
Kyle decided he would just listen and see what was said. Sometimes the conversations between the ladies got very interesting. It didn't seem to matter if they were human or not.
Holly hadn't asked to switch to Allison's SUV either.
"It seems to me there were a lot of other things on your mind." Holly said.
Cameron thought about it all. So much of what she wanted for so long finally happened. It was time for the girls to step up now and help protect John. The action with the anti-Metal group was extensive the last week. She heard first hand accounts of what several of them said.
"There's always a lot on my mind." Cameron said. "It never stops."
Cameron took one last look back.
She really wanted Savannah to 'take' her. She was ready for the experience. She'd allowed John to share a lot. She should be able to get a little extra for herself. She didn't think her desire to be with one female should override everything John was able to experience. She would make sure there was more for him as well once she returned.
Anna could tell Young Allison was troubled. She busied herself with a lot of little things. She moved over next to her.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Anna asked.
Young Allison was taken off guard. She wanted to come back with a quick quip but didn't. Anna was reaching out to her. It was personal. She would try to deflect some of it.
"I'm worried we missed something." Young Allison said. "The anti-Metal group was here in bigger numbers than we imagined. Those ambush sites were elaborate and widespread. A lot of effort went into them. I'm sure they were directed at the other groups."
It wasn't what Anna thought Young Allison wanted to talk about.
"There's a lot we don't know until we know it." Anna said.
Young Allison frowned a little. She wanted to stay with the Resistance issues.
"The action at the port, and with the anti-Metal group, was all geared up for the other groups to fight each other." Young Allison said. "I don't think it was with the Resistance any of them thought they were going to fight."
It wasn't good news the way Anna saw it.
"I think so too." Anna said. "It means there is a bigger Gray and Fanatic problem out there we don't know about. We were prepared for all our encounters, or were able to adapt to the situation quickly."
Young Allison knew there were way too many close ones. She'd actually been on two of the operations where things were touch and go.
"We were lucky too." Young Allison said. "Things could have gone a lot differently."
Anna didn't see any point to negative speculation. It was what it was.
"They could have, but they didn't." Anna said.
Young Allison needed to remember 'all was well that ended well'. Maybe she would feel better about it when they were all back at the base. Somehow she didn't think so. She knew they would be other issues which would replace the ones currently in her mind. They were of a more personal nature. There wasn't anything she could do about it.
Cammy could see Savannah was tired.
"I can drive." Cammy said. "I think we're out of immediate EMP danger."
Savannah blinked a few times. She wondered if she'd started to doze off. She hadn't felt herself swerve.
"I'm fine." Savannah said. "I can hack it."
Cammy saw they were about to pass the last ambush site. It was manned by Dan and Frank. They drove by and received the all clear a few minutes later.
Savannah felt they should reciprocate. It wouldn't take them long.
"We can do the last ambush for them." Savannah said.
Cammy didn't want to keep delaying Savannah. There were other things to consider as well.
"I think it was the last one." Cammy said. "We have drone coverage as well."
Savannah drove on. They would be back at the base soon. She looked forward to getting cleaned up. She looked forward to a nice bed. If she was with anyone, or ate, it would just be a bonus. She was aware when someone felt like she did, they started to make mistakes. She needed to refocus.
She knew she wouldn't only endanger herself. She knew she would endanger Cammy as well. By extension, it would endanger all of the other team members as well. None of them would return without her.
The teams all filtered back into the base one at a time. Savannah and Cammy arrived last.
John Henry would assign most of the Terminators new assignments soon enough.
Savannah sent word she wanted to clean up some first before the meal. Claire put everything on hold so all the team members could clean up. Dinner would be ready in ninety minutes.
All of the females paired up with their Metal lovers. Riley and Sarah were there to welcome back Derek and Kyle. John was there for Cameron.
Savannah and Cammy returned the SUV to the carpool.
"I don't want there to be a big 'to-do' about anything." Savannah said.
Cammy noticed Savannah was moving a little slower than usual.
"I sent word to John Henry to treat this no differently than any other day." Cammy said. "Are you feeling OK?"
Savannah straightened up.
"I'm fine." Savannah said.
They entered the building.
Savannah was relieved there was no one there. She just wanted to get cleaned up and maybe eat a few bites of food and rest for a while.
Young Jesse waited for Savannah to return. She didn't like it because Savannah was the last one back. Camille was with her.
John Henry relayed Savannah's message to all the Terminators.
"I can't wait to see Savannah." Young Jesse said.
Camille felt like the bearer of bad news.
"Savannah sent word she wanted to clean up some first when she got back." Camille said.
Young Jesse just wanted to see her. They didn't have to do anything.
"I just want to see her for a few minutes." Young Jesse said.
Camille thought it would bother Cammy. She tried to keep things as logical as possible.
"Cammy has been with her the whole week on every operation." Camille said. "She'll want to get cleaned up too. You know she shares Savannah's room with her."
Young Jesse just needed to see her. She felt it was important. She felt it would give Savannah a little boost.
"I'm going to welcome her back." Young Jesse said. "I'll give her privacy."
Cameron gave John a brief run down on the operation from her perspective as they returned to their room.
Cameron stripped off her clothes. She wanted to get cleaned up as well.
"Are you going to shower with me?" Cameron asked.
John hadn't planned on it. It seemed like a good idea though. It would give him an excuse to fondle the things he liked to touch.
"I could." John said. "Operations are calm right now and dinner is over an hour away."
John started to undress.
Cameron checked her com to make sure Savannah made it back with no problems. She did.
She helped John finish undressing and playfully led him into the shower.
"Let me adjust the water." Cameron said.
They took a playful shower and returned back to the bedroom.
"We still have an hour to kill." Cameron said.
John looked at the bed. So did Cameron.
"I can think of a few things we could do together." John said.
It was what Cameron wanted to hear. She didn't think the honeymoon needed to be over quite yet, even if it already was.
"Are you up to it?" Cameron asked.
John quickly glanced down at himself.
"I think so." John said.
Cameron picked John up and set him on the bed. She knew what John liked. There wasn't any reason she couldn't get things started.
"Let me 'start you up'." Cameron said.
Cameron went to move down.
John wanted to show Cameron he thought about her as well. He didn't just want to be on the receiving end. He wanted to share.
"Let's make that a two way street." John said. "I think a 'taco' will make a nice appetizer."
Cameron smiled. She was up to a little 'chorizo' if John was.
"I hear it goes well with 'sausage'." Cameron said.
They quickly repositioned and went to 'work' on each other.
Ally and Sheila headed for Sheila's room. There were no duty assignments for them yet.
Sheila looked at her phone and put it back.
Ally could see Sheila wanted to communicate with Leticia. She most likely wanted to do more than talk. She didn't want to encourage Sheila too much. She also didn't want to see her with unnecessary distress.
"Do you want to call her?" Ally asked.
Sheila glanced over. It was clear Ally could tell what was on her mind.
"I do." Sheila said. "I need to fight the urge."
Ally knew Sheila succumbed to all her urges. Any delay usually intensified them when they happened. She wanted to give her some options. She could give Sheila the option for some of her other desires.
"I think I can be with Camille later on." Ally said. "You can be with Cammy."
Sheila liked the idea. Any action was good. Some of it was just better. She didn't see any need for Camille or Cammy to feel unnecessary distress.
"It will make them feel less lonely." Sheila said. "We can switch at some point, or make it a four way."
Ally gave Sheila a long hug.
"I'm glad we're back at home." Ally said.
Sheila wondered why Ally was so 'emotional'. It was probably because of Leticia. She figured Ally was afraid she would go and see her. It was why she'd 'offered' Cammy to her.
"Sure, love, there's no place like home." Sheila said.
There was a far off look in Sheila's eyes. The emotions she felt were very overpowering to her. She could see why Cameron felt such distress at times. They were very hard to deal with. Once they started, they didn't stop. They just kept coming and coming. She thought perhaps she could have used a better choice of words. It only made her 'hunger' and desire worse.
Cammy and Savannah went down the hall to Savannah's room.
Savannah was glad there weren't a bunch of people to talk to her. She wanted to get back to her room. Cammy opened the door and she went inside. She set her gear down in the corner. She wanted to deal with her own things. She didn't want to overuse Cammy.
"I'll take care of it myself in a little bit." Savannah said. "You don't need to worry about my stuff."
Cammy set her gear down next to it.
'We'll see.' Cammy thought.
Savannah looked at her and frowned. She really didn't want to get into it. She looked at the bed and considered lying down just for a few minutes. She was a little worried if she did; she wouldn't get back up for a while.
There was a soft knock at the door.
Cammy looked at the door and frowned. She didn't want any interruptions for Savannah right now. She thought Savannah made it clear to everyone.
"I'll tell them you're busy." Cammy said.
Savannah didn't want to create an issue.
"I think we both know who it is." Savannah said.
Cammy let her frown quickly fade. She was aware who it was.
"I guess we do." Cammy said.
Savannah wanted to make effective use of the time.
"I'll get it." Savannah said. "You can get cleaned up first."
Cammy quickly started to strip as Savannah went to the door.
Savannah reached the door and looked back. Cammy slipped off her underwear and tossed them in the hamper. She reached back to unhook her bra.
"That was fast." Savannah said.
Cammy took off her bra and dropped it in the hamper.
"I'll hurry." Cammy said.
Savannah opened the door.
Seconds ago:
Young Jesse just wanted to see Savannah since she was back. She debated at what point to do it. Camille indicated to go there now was a bad idea. She'd waited around the far corner of the hall for them to enter. Now here she was outside Savannah's door.
She straightened her clothes and fixed her hair a little. She was unsure what all to say to Savannah. She would tell her everything, except about Sarah. Sarah asked for discretion.
She knocked softly at the door. She planned to keep it simple.
There was a pause. She heard some conversation in the background. The door opened. Savannah was the one who opened it. Her heart fluttered a few times as she looked at Savannah. She noticed Cammy in the background naked. She looked exactly like Camille to her. It was something else which excited her.
Savannah opened her arms and she rushed into them. They held each other like they never wanted to let go. Savannah finally felt she was back at home now.
Camille followed Young Jesse. She took up her position at the end of the hall as she peered around the corner now herself. She watched Young Jesse knock and Savannah greet her as she took her in the room.
A soft hand took her left hand. It must have started to glitch.
"Hello." Summer said. "It happens."
Camille was surprised to see Summer.
"Hi, Summer." Camille said. "It seems to happen a lot."
Summer didn't want there to be any problems.
"It's life at the Resistance base." Summer said. "You can come with me for a little bit."
Camille went to take one last look back.
Summer gently pulled on her hand.
"Let it go." Summer said. "You know the rules."
Summer led Camille away.
Seconds ago:
Cammy lingered a little longer than necessary. She'd wanted to make sure Young Jesse saw her naked. It was to show Young Jesse what else was available. It never hurt to advertise. It was also to remind Young Jesse she shared Savannah's room. She moved into the bathroom and turned on the water in the shower. She came back to the door of the bathroom to listen.
Savannah was thrilled to see Young Jesse. She looked so beautiful. She immediately opened her arms and gave her a hug. They gave each other a kiss.
They quickly exchanged pleasantries and started talking.
Savannah forgot all about being tired and hungry. She was so happy to see Young Jesse again. It was like new life was pumped into her. Her emotions and love flooded her soul. It was a very positive experience. Endorphins we released into her body.
Things settled down a little. Savannah felt self conscious about the way she looked. She didn't like the fact everything was there in the first place. She was used to seeing it.
"I'm a mess." Savannah said. "You look like a beauty queen. I need to get cleaned up some."
They could hear the water running in the background.
Savannah wanted to make it clear who else was in the room with her. She didn't know Cammy lingered a little longer than necessary so Young Jesse could observe her.
"It's Cammy. I told her to go first when I heard the knock." Savannah said. "I knew it was going to be you. It was what I hoped anyway. It was."
Young Jesse looked at the bathroom door.
"I don't want to intrude." Young Jesse said. "I know you've been up a long time and busy all week. I needed to see you."
Savannah was sure it may have been the busiest week yet.
"I just need to get cleaned up some." Savannah said. "Do you mind?"
Savannah started to undress.
She looked at Young Jesse as she started to remove her clothing. She didn't like the way her body looked anymore. She wondered if she should wait and undress in the bathroom. It was one thing to be nude in a dark room. It was another one to be nude in the bright lights.
"I'm a little worse for the wear." Savannah said. "Maybe you shouldn't see."
Young Jesse felt it was terrible Savannah would even think of it.
"I love you however you are." Young Jesse said. "You know it."
Savannah could feel everything in her body respond to Young Jesse.
"I love you too." Savannah said.
Young Jesse came over to assist her.
She stripped Savannah down to her underwear in no time.
Savannah heard Young Jesse wince and suck in her breath.
Young Jesse was appalled.
"Oh my God!" Young Jesse said. "Are you OK?"
Savannah touched her cheek and smiled at her.
"I'm fine." Savannah said.
Young Jesse looked at Savannah's battered and bruised body. Her teeth were clenched tightly together. Even with her darker complexion, she turned a little red. She was clearly upset and angry.
She unhooked Savannah's bra and slipped her underwear off and tossed both of them in the hamper.
She gave Savannah another hug and led her into the bathroom.
Young Jesse went to the shower and opened the door.
"Hi, Cammy." Young Jesse said. "Will you please help her clean up?"
Cammy heard they were coming so she'd quickly entered the shower right before they'd entered the bathroom. She didn't want to miss any of the conversation. She would be able to tell what else they did by listening. She didn't want to get caught for eavesdropping. It seemed to happen enough anyway. She always listened to what Savannah did, even when she wasn't supposed to.
Savannah didn't want Young Jesse to be upset or angry. It was simply another day at the Resistance base.
"It's alright." Savannah said. "This is how it is."
Young Jesse took another look at Savannah. It upset her greatly. It wasn't how Savannah should look in the present. She'd been to the future. It was how people looked there. It was wrong. She knew she needed to do more. She needed to help share the workload.
"I'll come back later." Young Jesse said.
Cammy could see how rejuvenated Savannah was because Young Jesse was there now. She understood what it meant. She also knew what needed to be done.
"It's fine if you stay." Cammy said. "I won't be too long. I have a few things I need to take care of."
There it was, sacrifice.
Cammy just showed Savannah she loved her and would allow her to spend some time with Young Jesse after her shower.
She looked at Young Jesse. She decided to be as magnanimous as possible.
"If you want, you can shower with her." Cammy said. "I'm all done."
Young Jesse looked at Savannah who smiled and nodded.
Savannah gave Cammy a long kiss as Young Jesse stripped. She was very appreciative of Cammy's understanding and generosity.
Cammy exited the shower dripping wet and faced a now nude Young Jesse. They shared a long look. They knew they'd hook up later on at some point in an instant.
Young Jesse handed Cammy a towel and entered the shower with Savannah.
Cammy watched them embrace under the warm spray of water. It pleased her to see how much happier Savannah was now. She'd looked very run down a few minutes ago. It didn't appear to be the case any longer.
She quickly dried herself and set two fresh towels on the counter by the shower and left. She took one last look before she exited into the main part of the room.
Cammy could see Young Jesse was what Savannah needed right now. It 'picked up' Savannah and made her look like her old self almost instantly. It was obvious to her she didn't produce the same reaction in Savannah, at least not any longer anyway. She was glad Cameron hadn't intervened earlier.
She quickly dressed and gathered all of their gear. She took it with her and left. She would clean it and return ten minutes before dinner time. She would remind Savannah and Young Jesse when it was almost time to eat, food that is.
Anna watched Young Allison snoop around the Resistance base on the security cameras. She felt she needed to say something.
"We've conducted this discussion before." Anna said.
Young Allison watched Young Jesse enter Savannah's room and Cammy exit later on with all their gear.
"I know." Young Allison said.
Anna wanted to point out the obvious. She didn't think it was necessary but she wanted to make a point.
"Did you see anything different than you knew you were going to see or would happen?" Anna asked.
Young Allison felt a little frustrated.
"No." Young Jesse said. "It all happened like I knew it would."
Anna didn't want Young Allison to needlessly stress herself out. There was no need for her to run her own emotions through the wringer.
"It means you don't need to spy." Anna said.
Young Alison didn't really want to discuss it. She wanted to move the conversation along. She wanted to know how things would play out tomorrow.
"I guess it does mean it." Young Jesse said. "What time do we need to be there tomorrow for the briefing with John and Cameron?"
Anna needed to check on it.
"I'll let you know." Anna said.
John and Cameron got down to business after getting 'warmed up'.
"I don't want to be late for dinner." John whispered.
Cameron smiled. She knew everyone would know why he was late if he was.
"I'll take care of everything." Cameron said. "My turn…."
Earlier:
"Do you want to hang out with me or go to the armory?" Summer asked.
Camille tilted her head slightly.
"Why would I need to go to the armory?" Camille asked.
Summer wanted to remind her there were other options and different directions to focus her mind.
"Cammy will be there soon with all of their gear to clean." Summer said.
Camille was pleased with the thought. It would help refocus her.
"I get it. It happens." Camille said. "Let's go to the armory and I'll have everything ready for her.
Summer went to the armory with her and left once she started to set things up. Her work there was done for now. Camille and Cammy could find purpose together.
Jim joined John Henry in the Command Center.
"What do you have?" Jim asked. "You got everything from the ship."
John Henry was very pleased with everything he'd received.
"I did." John Henry said. "Thank you. It was most educational and enlightening."
John Henry handed him a tether to plug into his server.
"You'd better watch it this way." John Henry said. "Summer visits here often and unannounced. I don't know when she's here half of the time."
John Henry and Jim both looked around the Command Center.
Young Jesse carefully washed Savannah off. They did a lot of touching and kissing as it occurred.
The girls didn't realize how much they'd missed each other.
Young Jesse felt a little guilty since she'd shared with everyone on the ship multiple times except Cameron, Bob and Jim. Sarah was the icing on the cake. Now she was here with Savannah.
They finished up and playfully dried each other off. They tossed the towels aside and headed for the bedroom. It looked like it was going to be a wild time. Instead, once they were on the sheets, it was all slow loving touches. They wanted to convey the love the two girls felt for each other. It was time for love, not sex. They shared a beautiful time.
Cammy was surprised to find Camille waiting for her with everything ready.
"Why are you here?" Cammy asked.
Camille thought the answer was simple enough.
"Summer told me you'd be here soon." Camille said. "Here you are."
Cammy thought it was funny since she'd actually planned to stay in the room with Savannah. She tried to think when she'd made the decision.
"Maybe Summer can do more than read minds." Cammy said.
Camille thought of her earlier experience.
"She's very suggestive." Camille said.
Cammy wanted Camille to think about something.
"Did Summer actually speak to you?" Cammy asked.
Camille was about to say 'yes'. Instead she tilted her head slightly.
"I don't know." Camille said.
Now Camille wondered if the 'conversation' was all in her head.
Cammy placed the gear up on the work bench.
"Nobody does." Cammy said.
They both thought it was advisable to stay on the good side of Summer and CamNet.
The groups all drifted out of their rooms. It seemed everybody did a little more than get cleaned up. In fact, most of them needed to get cleaned up a second time. Everyone was mostly dressed as they headed for the commissary.
Claire, Summer and Jan made sure the meal would be ready on time.
Earlier on, Summer suggested Hanna could join Ally and Sheila. It was what she did. She didn't see any reason why 'The Three Musketeers' couldn't reunite.
Camille and Cammy ended up in Sheila's room as well.
Cammy slipped out at fifteen minutes until dinnertime and went to Savannah's room. She listened before she knocked. It was quiet. She carefully opened the door and peeked inside.
Young Jesse sat up naked on the bed as she gently touched Savannah's hair and cheek as she slept.
Young Jesse looked over as Cammy held up ten fingers and then four more. She smiled at Cammy and nodded.
Cammy left.
She stopped by Jesse's room and made sure she knew it was time to get ready.
Gail was with Jesse once she'd returned. She was a little confused at first. When she scanned Jesse, she scanned back as pregnant. She thought she was with Young Jesse again but the scar she felt on Jesse dictated otherwise. She didn't say anything to her about it. When she was with her later on, she detected some of a few surprising things in the location where events of such a nature happen.
She wasn't sure what went on. Jesse didn't mention anything about it. She knew she was with Young Jesse and Claire. Maybe there was some transfer of genetic material when they got together. A couple of the positions they liked to share put those areas in direct contact with each other with a lot of interaction.
Maybe Jesse was with John.
She would need to check the security cameras. Since Jesse's pregnancy all ended in failure, she wasn't sure if she should mention it. It would hurt Jesse again when it failed. Young Jesse did what was necessary to take care of it for her. She was very appreciative of what Young Jesse was willing to do.
After Cammy stopped by, she helped Jesse get ready for dinner. She didn't want her to be late.
Gail figured Jesse would know she was 'late' soon enough in another way.
The Gray continued down the highway. He was glad he'd made it out of the mine. He didn't think anyone else did. He really didn't know. Everyone he passed along the way was dead. He tried his phone one more time. It still didn't work. He needed to get to one of the other locations and warn the others.
He reached around and touched his back. It seemed to hurt a lot now. There was no fresh blood so he took it as a good sign.
There were a couple of times when he drifted over the center divider. He quickly corrected himself. He just hoped it didn't happen when there was any oncoming traffic. So far there hadn't been very much. Only two cars had passed him going the other direction.
He looked back in the direction he'd come from a couple times. There was no smoke in the air. He took it as a good sign. They didn't need any lookiloos checking things out. They certainly didn't need any of the authorities snooping around the area.
The Gray wasn't sure how long it would take to reach the crossroads junction. He could try to use a phone there. If not, he would tank up and continue his journey.
The female Fanatic could see the other car up ahead. She planned to be as far behind it as possible. She took one more look at the dust cloud in the air where the entrance of the mine had been.
Jill looked back at the dust cloud as they drove away. She had a few questions.
"Will anyone else know what happened there?" Jill asked.
The female Fanatic hadn't seen any other traffic yet.
"I don't think so." The female Fanatic said. "It should appear to be a landslide if anyone actually looks. I'm sure the little guard shack was buried. Unless someone knows what was there, they won't know what is there."
Jill thought about everything as they drove along. Eventually two cars passed them. They were spread out and didn't appear to be in any type of hurry. They didn't pay any attention to them. There were a few things she wanted to know more about.
"The machines we saw inside the mine seemed very sophisticated." Jill said. "I've never seen anything like them, especially the ones which can fly."
The female Fanatic glanced over at Jill. Should she tell her the truth? If she told her the truth, and Jill accepted everything she told her, she would be a true follower of SkyMaster. She also might think she was insane.
"The group is very sophisticated." The female Fanatic said. "Sophistication doesn't change their goal. It only makes it more attainable."
Jill was still a little troubled.
"What about the power pack or power cell?" Jill asked. "An electric car needs a giant battery to operate. It can only operate for a few hours. The power cell was small enough for you to pick up and carry with one hand. A car battery, just to start a regular car, weighs a lot. They're very heavy."
The female Fanatic wanted to throw a few ideas out there.
"It's not technology from this time period. Even if it exists in this time period." The female Fanatic said.
Jill sat up straight in her seat. What did Jackie just indicate? She wanted to know more. She thought about the technology as well as what was done to her.
"Do you mean it's alien?" Jill asked. "None of those men were aliens were they?"
The female Fanatic almost wanted to laugh. She could go with a story based on aliens but she didn't want to.
"It's technology from the future." The female Fanatic said. "The men we dealt with are from the future."
Jill thought Jackie was messing with her. She knew what she'd seen inside of the mine. She remembered Jackie said there was no more help.
"Are you from the future?" Jill asked.
The female Fanatic looked over at Jill.
"Would you think I was insane if I told you I was?" The female Fanatic asked. "Would it seem any more bizarre if I was an alien or from the future?"
Jill thought about it for a moment. Both ideas were pretty extreme. She still knew what she saw.
"It would be a little hard to take in." Jill said. "I believe you're human. Are you really from the future?"
She'd seen Jackie naked, she'd seen Jackie eat, she'd seen Jackie expel waste products. Jackie had done everything she'd done as well.
The female Fanatic told it like it was. She would try to keep it brief and factual.
"I am from the future." The female Fanatic said. "I'm from a further future than the people we just dealt with. They work for a group run by a supercomputer known as Skynet. In a few years, it takes over the world by destroying most of it. It then begins to hunt down humans to make them extinct. They have machines which look like humans called Terminators. It's very hard for anyone to determine they aren't actually a human. They can do everything a human can. They're designed to infiltrate. They're designed to replace specific humans. Their main design function is to kill."
Jill swallowed hard. She could see Jackie was serious. Either she was completely insane, or she was telling the truth. She didn't think she was insane. She looked Jackie over. She looked like a human female to her. She could see there were cuts on her and bruises. She could see there were scars.
"Are you a Terminator?" Jill asked.
The female Fanatic reached over and touched above Jill's knee with her hand. She gave it a soft gentle squeeze.
"I'm not a Terminator." The female Fanatic said. "I'm as human as you are. I've experienced many of the same things you have. Where I grew up at, it was much worse than anything you can possibly imagine. The world was already destroyed."
Jill found everything a little hard to process. She'd seen different types of movies over the years.
"How do you go from the future back to our current time period?" Jill asked. "Do you have some type of time ship? Is there some kind of a time machine?"
The female Fanatic wanted to see what Jill would believe.
"There's a time machine." The female Fanatic said. "It's how humans and Terminators are sent back. The machines you saw were constructed here based upon future technology."
Jill thought about some more of the movies she'd watched.
"Can you go - back to the future?" Jill asked.
The female Fanatic sighed.
"No." The female Fanatic said. "It was a one-way trip. The others I was sent with have all been killed."
Jill tried to remember the name of the supercomputer. It was Sky something. She remembered.
"Is there a Skynet right now?" Jill asked. "Will you be able to stop it?"
The female Fanatic didn't know exactly what there was.
"There are versions of it being built." The female Fanatic said. "We were able to destroy several of them. It needs to be powerful enough to take over the majority of the computers in the world, so it can destroy it. So far it's been prevented from happening. It actually happened the first time over thirty years ago. It's happened several times since then as well."
Jill thought about what was said.
"Are you saying there's more than one future?" Jill asked.
The female Fanatic didn't know all the details.
"I suppose it's one way to look at it." The female Fanatic said. "I believe I'm from the original timeline when Skynet first took over thirty years ago. I'm trying to stop Skynet from taking over again."
She noticed the truck was gone where they'd left it earlier. So was the other car they'd driven. Both of them had been left with the keys in them. She'd hoped someone would take them and move them further away from where they were abandoned.
Jill still found it all a little hard to believe. She couldn't deny what she'd already witnessed. She heard what the men said they were going to do. She thought they were terrorists. She realized they were a different type of terrorists than she'd first thought. They were actually worse than terrorists.
"Are you like a time cop or something?" Jill asked. "You do have to understand this is all a little hard for me to grasp, even if what I've seen makes it all makes sense."
The female Fanatic decided to lay it out a little further.
"In the further future I'm from, there's a different supercomputer which is trying to fix things." The female Fanatic said. "It's known as SkyMaster. I serve SkyMaster because I believe in it. I believe in its purpose and teachings. I believe in its future. I believe in the future it offers."
Jill needed to think about everything she'd just heard. It reminded her of some cult groups she'd heard about over the years. Some of them were pretty extreme. She understood those who became terrorists and those who joined cults were all fanatics. They all believed in the things they did, because they thought they were the right things. She knew when someone believed in something, it didn't matter if it was true or not. Because they believed it, it made it true to them.
"I don't doubt you, Jackie." Jill said. "You saved my life several times. You went out of your way to save it the last time. You could have left me every time to my fate. You didn't. Those men would have. They would have abused me until I was dead. In any of the situations we were in, they would have left me. You didn't. Everything's a little hard to take in, but I believe in you. I think you're a good person no matter when or where you're from, or what you're trying to do. I'll follow you anywhere and stay with you until I'm killed. I can see it's more than likely going to end in death to stop Skynet and its operatives."
The female Fanatic made sure the road ahead was clear. She reached over and pulled Jill's head towards her. She looked into her eyes and gave her a kiss and turned her attention back to the road.
"I know it will end in death for me." The female Fanatic said. "It's not what I want to happen to you. You can still leave and go about your life. I won't blame you at all. It's what I want you to do. You don't need to die for me."
Jill remembered there were multiple times when Jackie gave her the option to leave. She gave her money as well. It was clear she was serious in her offer for her to leave and start her life over. It showed Jackie really cared about her. It meant something to her. Not too many people ever cared about what happened to her. They usually tried to see what they could exploit her for. It was usually the use of her body.
"I'm not going to leave you." Jill said. "I'm not going to die for you. If we do die. It will be because we died serving SkyMaster. Someone needs to stop Skynet."
Jill didn't want to lay her death on Jackie later if it happened.
The female Fanatic felt a rush of excitement. Jill was a believer. She really hoped they would be able to share with each other one time before they died.
Felt It Knock
At the instant anything begins
It starts an invisible clock
As things progress and play out
They may end in a deadlock
Words are just words
They are nothing but talk
They are slow to praise
They are quick to mock
Birds of the same feather
Will always together flock
The noises they make
Are a meaningless squawk
When things begin to fall apart
It shouldn't be such a shock
It really doesn't take too much
To get one or both to walk
The biggest mistake is often
Not to stand on rock
Everyone knows what it meant
When they felt it knock
Nobody
