The following morning, Dorothy and West were at Glinda's place.
"You're doing great, West," said Glinda while watching the younger witch turn an apple to gold as it floated between her hands.
"Thanks Glinda, I'm slowly getting better with it," said West.
"And how are you doing, Dorothy?" asked Glinda while turning to face Dorothy who was sitting on the floor meditating.
"I'm starting to feel the magic inside me as it flows around my body," said Dorothy without moving a muscle.
"But it's only moving slowly and there is not much of it," she said.
"Still, that's impressive," said Glinda.
"Yeah, I'm a born witch and it took me far longer to be able to feel magic inside my body, even the smallest amount took that long," said West.
"Well I'm looking forward to learning with you," said Dorothy with a smile which made West blush.
"I… I need a minute," said West before walking out of the room.
"Argh, what did I say wrong this time?!" asked Dorothy after her friend was out of earshot. She also stood up at this point and walked away from the spot she had been sitting at.
"Maybe you should stop beating around the bush and just tell her how you feel," said Glinda who was trying to hold back her laughter.
"But I don't want to ruin our friendship if she doesn't feel the same," said Dorothy.
"Your friendship won't be hurt by something like that," said Glinda.
"Plus life is about taking risks at times, and love is definitely a risk you should take," she said while taking her leave.
"She does have a point," said Dorothy as she fell back onto a couch in order to look up at the ceiling.
