Chapter 1509
It Was Time
Dan and Frank were at a local university. They were sent there to retrieve historical data about the mine. They needed to force their way into the archives. They did it without causing too much damage. They found the records and the old maps of the layout of the mine at its height of production. They photographed everything and took detailed scans with their visual files. They used their neck ports to transfer the information to John Henry through a laptop. They returned everything to where it was and left the university. They'd only needed to render one of the security team unconscious. They would recover.
John Henry received the information from Dan and Frank. CamNet did as well. They both began to process it.
Summer worked with Jan on several different things. They'd already finished the music instruction and practiced some dance routines. It was study time now.
CamNet asked Summer to assist John Henry. She left immediately.
John Henry processed all the data. There were detailed maps of the various shafts which ran both vertical and horizontal. Everything was laid out in linear feet.
"Skynet will be in this area." Summer said.
John Henry was surprised Summer was with him already. He'd just started to process everything.
"Hi, Summer." John Henry said.
Summer looked at several of the monitors. She went over the available plans.
"Hello." Summer said. "I think if Skynet uses this layout, they'll be in this area."
John Henry wasn't sure of it. He tried to determine where he would want his server to be. It would also need something very important.
"What about a power source?" John Henry asked.
There was power to the mine, but there were no high tension lines around the area.
Summer quickly offered an answer.
"They have a power feed which is hidden." Summer said. "They'll construct one of the giant power cells too, if they haven't already."
There were historic aerial photos of the area as well as old satellite photos. They were able to identify some discrepancies.
"There was some work in this area a decade ago." John Henry said. "There's no record of it."
Summer could see the seriousness of it. She wanted to use a proven technique. It had been used against Skynet in the Nevada desert, as well as against a recent threat.
"I suggest this be handled the same way I dealt with the anti-Metal bunker." Summer said. "It's the only way to be sure."
John Henry wasn't convinced yet he wanted to go down the same route. He certainly wasn't going to make the decision on his own. He wanted some advice from the General.
"I need to consult with John first." John Henry said.
Summer knew Allison was with John right now. She understood exactly what Allison wanted. In fact, she was more aware of what Allison wanted, than Allison did. Allison had a little trouble admitting to herself what she really wanted.
"He'll be tied up for quite some time." Summer said.
She was sure Jesse, Young Jesse and her mother would all be in there with him for the rest of the night. She knew Cameron and Savannah wouldn't be back tonight.
John Henry thought about her statement. He quickly came to the same conclusion she'd just done. He wondered how deeply she was involved.
"Is any of it your doing?" John Henry asked.
Summer looked at him.
"When it's my doing, I'll go myself." Summer said. "I would do so to protect his life."
John Henry looked at her for a few seconds. He was sure Summer would do it. She was probably going to be the most ruthless of the humans when it came to killing on top of it. She was already responsible for a multitude of deaths.
He made sure the team received the information they needed if they went inside the mine. It was still a few hours away.
Summer didn't want them to do a direct entry. She looked for another way in along with John Henry and CamNet.
Jim. Bob, Cam and Gail started their trek toward the front of the mine. They planned to infiltrate inside if they could.
John Henry was able to send them the information from the university.
"I think we may have found another way in." John Henry said.
They all studied the layout of the shafts. There should be an air vent about two miles from where they currently were.
Cam didn't know how accurate the information actually was.
"We don't know what changes Skynet has made." Cam said.
They were surprised to hear the next voice.
"When you find out, there will be a few more changes made in the past." Summer said.
They all knew what it meant. It seemed they needed to know what the destruction would be from whatever Skynet created first.
"I don't think John is going to be a part of this decision." Bob said.
The Terminators all knew Summer played 'hardball'. It was how they liked to play as well. If they were going to play, they were going to play to win. If they were going to win, they wanted to win big.
Previously:
Young Jesse and Camille were the pilot and copilot on the B-25.
Young Jesse taxied to the end of the runway. She wanted to do what Young Allison and Savannah tired.
"I want to try a minimum distance take off. I know I can beat three hundred feet." Young Jesse said.
Camille didn't want Young Jesse to push it too much.
"Remember, we aren't on a carrier traveling at flank speed into the wind, with fifty feet of clearance to the water below us." Camille said.
Young Jesse understood the reminder not to try and climb once she was off the runway.
"I'll play it cool." Young Jesse said. "I'll stay on the deck for most of the runway. It's a long runway."
Hanna checked around them from the top turret.
"The sky is clear." Hanna said.
The tower gave them clearance.
Young Jesse brought the two big R2600 engines up to full power and stood on the brakes.
Camille watched the wind sock.
"Now." Camille said.
Young Jesse let off the brakes and the Mitchell shot forward. The nose wheel was off the ground almost immediately.
Camille wanted to build some more speed.
"Easy does it." Camille said.
Young Jesse wanted Camille to keep track of everything for her.
"Call it for me." Young Jesse said.
Camille made all the calculations, including Young Jesse's response time.
"Now." Camille said.
Young Jesse pulled back on the controls and the Mitchell lifted off the runway. She didn't try to climb. The air speed continued to build. Once she was two thirds of the way down the runway, she retracted the gear.
"It was two hundred and eighty nine feet." Camille said.
They neared the end of the runway and Young Jesse was able to make an aggressive climb to five hundred feet. It only took seconds. She planned to do a touch and go at Madera on the way back.
Camille worked with John Henry and made sure everything was clear.
Hanna kept watch around them from the top turret.
In just minutes they were lined up for Madera.
Young Jesse made one touch and go pass and headed for Palmdale. She decided to follow the railroad tracks. They always led somewhere.
Young Allison was thrilled as Anna roared down the runway in the Mustang. It was a P-51 to her, even if it was modified for dual controls.
Anna took it up to five thousand feet. She was ready to give Young Allison a crack at the controls. She wanted to issue a pre-emptive reminder.
"I want you to take it easy." Anna said. "I mean it."
Young Allison didn't want to do anything too foolish.
"Stop me if I do anything dangerous or wrong." Young Allison said.
Anna thought Young Allison would show some restraint.
"You got it?" Anna asked.
Young Allison was ready to take full control. She'd been on the controls with Anna since before takeoff.
"I got it." Young Allison said.
Young Allison went through a series of maneuvers and several speed ranges. The Mustang felt like a dream under her control.
"This is beautiful, Anna." Young Allison said.
After a short time they lined up with Madera. Young Allison would let Anna land it.
"You got it?" Young Allison asked.
Anna was ready. She wanted to give Young Allison another reminder.
"I got it." Anna said. "Stay with me. It lands a little hot for what you're used to."
Anna landed and turned the plane over to Young Allison. She taxied to the end of the runway and turned it around. She wagged the tail back and forth to be able to see what was in front of her.
"Visibility leaves something to be desired on the ground." Young Allison said. "We won't be here for long."
Anna did a visual around them.
"You're good." Anna said. "Let's do it smooth and slow."
Young Allison kicked up the power and the Mustang shot forward. The tail was up in seconds.
"Easy does it." Anna said.
Young Allison took her time and lifted off smoothly. They came around and did two touch and go landings. After the second touch and go, Young Allison took it up to ten thousand feet. It would give her some airspace to do a few maneuvers. CamNet reassured them the air space would be clear.
She was thrilled beyond joy to have this opportunity. It took her mind off of Savannah with Young Jesse, or where she was now with Cameron.
She needed to remind herself everything Savannah did was her choice. She also reminded herself everything she did, would be her choice as well.
Cameron and Savannah left Joe and Ted behind as they taxied away in the T-33 Shooting Star.
Savannah originally asked Cameron to take off.
Cameron thought otherwise.
"You can do it, Savannah." Cameron said. "This is how all the jet pilots learned for years. You got it?"
Savannah felt confident in the T-33 Shooting Star, affectionately known as a T-Bird. Thousands and thousands of pilots trained in it over the decades.
"I got it." Savannah said. "I'll follow your verbal instructions. If I start to blow it, take control."
Savannah took over the taxi of the aircraft. She lined up with the runway and went over all the gauges as she ran the turbine up.
"Here we go." Savannah said as they started forward.
She used a little more runway than she needed and smoothly took off. She climbed to five thousand feet and leveled out. It was a rush for her. She'd flown in the business jets before to Australia. This was different. This was personal. The T-Bird was responsive and maneuverable.
Cameron checked around them and asked Savannah to take it up to ten thousand feet. She was aware the only other aircraft allowed within thirty miles of them was Young Allison in the Mustang.
Cameron didn't want them to interact. She wanted Savannah separated from the other girls. She wanted Savannah for herself.
Savannah knew what Cameron wanted. It was time. It was what she'd wanted ever since she could remember. She loved Cameron more than anything.
Vanna was thrilled to be with Sarah. There was never anyone she'd wanted for so long, and wasn't able to score, except Cameron. She kissed Sarah everywhere from head to toe.
Sarah already pleasured her earlier. Now it was her turn to give Sarah everything she knew. It was plenty. She really knew her way around a female body.
"Just lay back and relax." Vanna said. "My turn…."
Jesse and Claire shared a few times in Sheila's room. They both wanted to get back to Jesse's room with the sets of rings.
Claire wanted to look like Samantha. She was going to do it with Sarah. It was the whole purpose of Samantha trying it out for her since they looked identical.
"I think we've waited long enough." Claire said.
Jesse wanted Sarah and Vanna to share for a little while since it was their first time together.
"I can do yours right here." Jesse said. "I need to get some disinfectant."
Claire was up for it. She thought maybe Sarah could do one, and she could do one for Sarah.
"Don't you have everything in your room?" Claire asked.
Jesse always liked to be prepared.
"I do." Jesse said.
Claire wanted to go down and see where they were at right now.
"Let's go check." Claire said. "If they're working on each other, we can go in when they finish."
Jesse decided to do it.
"Follow me." Jesse said.
They went back to Jesse's room. They were both still naked.
Sarah and Vanna worked on each other at this point. It looked like Sarah was having multiple finishes as they watched. It allowed Vanna to have one as well.
"I need to rest." Sarah gasped.
Vanna rotated around and gave Sarah a kiss.
It became a very passionate kiss.
Jesse knocked twice and entered as soon as they'd separated.
Claire held out the box with the rings.
"I'm going to do it too." Claire said. "Pick a set."
Vanna and Jesse were as excited as Claire and Sarah were.
"I want these." Sarah said as she held up a pair.
Vanna looked down at her breasts.
"I'm so aroused right now, I'd do it too if I didn't need to nurse Precious." Vanna said. "Can I do a piercing for one of you?"
Jesse didn't see it as a problem.
"There are four of us, and four piercings which need to be done." Jesse said.
"I get to do one for Sarah." Claire said. "She gets to do one for me."
"I'll do one first on Claire." Jesse said. "You can all watch."
Vanna was thrilled to hear it. It meant she got to do one for Sarah.
"Let's get started." Sarah said.
Jesse laid everything out and disinfected the area twice on both of them as well as the instruments.
"I have a set of tongs to act as a guide." Jesse said.
Claire was more than ready. The headlights were on. She was good to go.
Jesse moved forward with the tongs and the special needle.
John and Allison were alone in his bedroom.
Allison thought it should bother her more than it did because she was in John's bed right now. It didn't. It didn't bother her at all. She knew she was one of many to share with him. It was probably because she'd shared with all of the human girls and Metal girls. There was plenty of love to go around and share with everyone.
"I want you to take me." Allison whispered in John's ear.
John swallowed hard. He thought it was what all the girls wanted now. He just wanted to make love to them all. It wasn't about sex to him. Cameron provided him with plenty of sex. It was all personal, one on one, with the human girls. It was the emotional level he wanted and missed.
He looked forward to his one time with all the Metal girls, but it would be just sex. He would have the satisfaction of being the 'first' for each of them. It was special for all of them.
So far only Young Jesse was never with a male before. She was very nervous when they'd shared. Vanna, Jesse and Claire were all with a male many times, even if it was by force or under the threat of death for some of them. Allison was used a little less than the others. She'd only been forced a few times and tried breeding sex a few more.
Allison looked at John with wide eyes. She was glad they'd already shared a few times. She'd been nervous at first. She still was a little nervous, but she was there to make love. She wanted to share herself to her fullest with John right now.
She lifted her head and kissed John. She put as much passion and feeling into her kiss as possible.
John took the kiss and returned it the same way. He knew it was special to Allison. It was special to him as well.
After the kiss, they looked intently into each other's eyes. The love was there.
Allison felt she needed to say something.
"I'm her." Allison whispered in his ear. "I'm her too."
John was taken aback some. What did she mean? Was she 'Young Allison' or was she 'Cameron'? Maybe it meant she could be both of them. It could be Future Allison as well. He wanted Allison to be herself.
"I only want you to be you." John said softly. "I want you to be who you are."
He kissed her this time. She took the kiss and deepened it. He began to touch her body everywhere. It was all slow and gentle. There was no greed or lust. There was only love.
Allison and John shared all of the love inside of them.
John couldn't believe how much love the girls all could share. He hated Skynet for what was done to all of them. He also knew what was done to them was a result of him jumping out of the past. He was the one who'd caused these girls all to suffer. The girls from Cameron's future were never as abused as the girls were from the future he'd created.
He really didn't know what was going to happen when he left the present before. He thought he would go into Cameron's future and everything would be the same. It wasn't. It was all different. Without him in the alternate future, there were a lot more bad things which happened to everyone.
He gave Allison every bit of love he could…. She returned it the same way. Sharing their bodies was only a small part of it. It was a beautiful part too.
Cammy, Ally and Sheila were under the bubbles of the whirlpool tub. They took turns pleasuring Mary, Laura and Leticia. They wanted to see if the girls could tell who was who. They couldn't.
Mary, Laura and Leticia all made it a few seconds apart. It was the second time.
The Metal girls all popped up from under the water.
Leticia was surprised to see 'Barbara', who she knew was Cammy now, was the one who finished her off the last time. She thought it 'Sue', who she knew was Sheila. She was even more surprised to find out 'Peggy', who she now knew as Ally, was the one who got her there the first time.
Mary was a little worried since the special girls told them their names. She wanted to know a little more. She tried to ask jokingly, but wasn't really sure if it was a joke.
"You're not going to have to kill us now are you?" Mary asked. "I mean, since you told us your names."
Laura was worried about it, but she wasn't going to ask. She didn't want to give them any ideas. She wondered about something else too.
"Are those really your names?" Laura asked.
Sheila wanted to make it clear.
"Those are our names." Sheila said.
Mary knew there were 'several' of each girl. She looked at Cammy.
"Do the other girls who look like you have different names?" Mary asked.
Cammy didn't want to get into it. There were the most people who looked like her, or she looked like them.
"They all have different names." Cammy said.
Leticia wondered about the cover names.
"Is anyone really Barbara and Ann, or Peggy and Sue?" Leticia asked.
Ally looked at Sheila.
"'Peggy Sue' was the song we heard in a lounge." Ally said.
Cammy heard the other name in a song when she passed by the pool area.
"So was 'Barbara Ann'." Cammy said.
Mary smiled. It was what she'd suspected all along.
"I knew it!" Mary said.
The Metal girls knew Mary was the sharpest of the three girls.
Cammy didn't want to give too much away. She wanted to give them a subtle warning.
"Maybe there are things you don't want to know." Cammy said.
Mary, Laura and Leticia all looked at each other.
"We'll trust your judgment of us." Leticia said. "I will trust my life to Sheila."
Sheila felt bad she'd almost drowned Leticia earlier. She'd been caught up in a moment of pleasure and hadn't thought about what she was doing to Leticia. She better understood Savannah when she always told Cameron she would never terminate her, even if it meant her own life. She looked Leticia in the eyes.
"I'll never kill you." Sheila said.
Leticia smiled. She wanted to please Sheila.
"Do you want me to be with Tony later on?" Leticia asked. "Or whatever his real name is, he's still the same person."
Cammy knew the girls lost the bet about Sheila on the surfboard.
"All three of you need to be with Tony." Cammy said. "It was the deal."
Leticia smiled. Mary and Laura looked at each other. They both nodded.
"It was the deal." Mary said. "I'd like to be with him alone on the first time."
Leticia would prefer to be alone as well. It would make it much more personal. It would make it real.
"I want the same thing." Leticia said.
Laura wanted it also, but she needed to make one thing clear. It was something which still haunted her. It was how she was first taken by force.
"I'll be on my back, or on top, but I don't do 'animal style'." Laura said. "It's a long story. I don't want to discuss it. I do anything else."
Cammy looked at the three girls. She wanted to bring them to where John was at. She wanted to get back at Cameron for taking Savannah away from her. She knew Cameron was going to be with Savannah. She wanted John to be with the three girls as 'punishment' to Cameron. She didn't know John was 'booked up' for the rest of the night already.
"Tony looks like he is going to be one lucky guy." Cammy said.
Sheila was ready to move on. It would be dark soon.
"If everyone is done for now, we can head out." Sheila said.
The girls all showered and playfully washed each other off before they dressed.
Mary, Laura and Leticia watched the special girls all put a firearm, and some kind of 'stun gun', on their person before they closed their lockers. It was a reminder the 'special girls' were dangerous and dealt in death….
The three girls all wondered what they really were. They could be anything from robots to aliens. They could be genetically enhanced humans too. They hadn't seen anything that didn't look human on their bodies. It was their abilities which were 'super human'.
Mary, Laura and Leticia all used the restroom before they left. They noted the 'special girls' didn't. They did know they possessed the body parts to do all those things. They just didn't seem to need to use them for those particular functions.
As they headed out to the SUV, Leticia moved close to Sheila. She wanted more. She wanted to be more like Sheila.
"Can you make me like you?" Leticia whispered in her ear.
It was something Sheila already planned to do with the next captured female Terminator they apprehended. There were certain aspects of Leticia she could capture and transfer over to a female Terminator, but she couldn't make Leticia herself a Terminator.
"No." Sheila whispered back. "I can't do it with you as you."
Leticia didn't really know what it meant. She was sure there was more to the story.

Temporal Mission:
Past Timeline:
November 24 1963
XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Cameron moved over to the front of the white vehicle and opened the hood.
"This is an R Code Galaxie 500 Sport Special Lightweight." Cameron said. "Halfway through 1963, a fastback was introduced. It was more aerodynamic than its predecessors. It has a 427 engine, which is really only a 424.96 or a 425. It has dual quad carburetors, a solid lifter camshaft, 4 speed, heavy duty suspension and brakes. It has a fiberglass hood, trunk lid and front fenders it. It came with an aluminum bumper and transmission case. It was pretty much a street legal race car, directly from the factory."
Cameron was about to point out Ford wanted to go up to the maximum engine size allowed under the current racing rules. It was 427 cubic inches. Since Dodge already had a 426 Wedge engine, they decided to skip 425 and go directly to 427. It gave them a 'larger' engine, even if it wasn't. The Dodge product would receive a hemispherical combustion chamber in 1964 and become the 426 Hemi. Ford followed suit and produced a hemispherical combustion chamber for the 427. They took it one step further and gave it an overhead cam. It was known as the 427 SOHC or 'cammer' for a nickname. She decided to mention it another time instead.
Young Allison was very impressed with what she looked at. She liked the fact it was a brand new car, as well as what it offered.
"Can we start it?" Young Allison asked.
Cameron was pleased Young Allison liked the vehicle.
"It shouldn't be too loud." Cameron said. "The stock exhaust system was left intact."
Cameron opened the driver's door on the Galaxie. She flipped down the sun visor on the driver's side and a set of keys dropped into her hand. She handed them to Young Allison.
Young Allison took the keys and put them in the ignition. She put her foot on the clutch and worked the shift selector through its 4 speed pattern. She made sure it was in 'neutral'. She pumped the gas pedal twice and turned the key.
The car started almost instantly with a low deep throated rumble. Young Allison worked the gas pedal a couple of times to run it up slightly. She didn't want to overdo it on a cold engine. She could feel the torque of the engine move the car body as it sat there in neutral.
"I can feel the power." Young Allison said. "I barely stepped on the gas pedal."
Cameron was aware big block engines were known for their torque. Too much torque on some of the propeller driven aircraft resulted in the necessity for counter rotating props. On the P-38 Lightning, and P-82 Twin Mustang, each engine rotated in an opposite direction. Most multi engine aircraft all used the same engine with the same rotation.
"There's no substitute for cubic inches." Cameron said. "There's no replacement for displacement."
Young Allison checked over all of the gauges. The tank was full of gasoline. Everything else checked out. She made sure the parking brake was set and got out.
"I just want to take a look at the other ones." Young Allison said. "The red one looks like the Galaxie's little brother."
Cameron smiled at the analogy.
"It actually is." Cameron said. "It's a 1963 two door Falcon. It has a 260 V8 in it. In its stock form, it's a very underpowered engine. The girls should have modified this one to perform much better than anything out of the factory. The 4 speed transmission will allow you to get more revs out of it than the 2 speed automatic transmission most of these cars were shipped with. Your left leg is going to get a workout in this time period."
Young Allison felt the car looked very discreet.
"I think this will be our daily driver." Young Allison said. "We can save the Galaxie for when we cruise the Boulevard."
Cameron tilted her head slightly.
"Van Nuys Boulevard is the main one in the Valley." Cameron said. "It will remain so for a few more decades."
Cameron hoped they would take a few side trips into the Central Valley. She would like to meet up with a legendary street racer who drove a bright yellow Deuce Coupe. They would only have a few months to do it. He would be killed by a drunk driver next year.
Young Allison moved over to the third car. It was a station wagon.
"This car looks a little worse for the wear." Young Allison said. "I take it this is our 'throwaway car'."
Cameron looked over the vehicle.
"It is." Cameron said. "I'll replace it, or any of the others, if I need to. We can use it as the daily driver if you want. If there are any traffic altercations, or someone needs termination, it won't matter where we leave it.
Young Allison knew they wanted to blend in and not stand out and attract any attention to themselves unnecessarily. All of the vehicles were in common usage in 1963. The Falcon and the Galaxie were both higher performing than their contemporary counterparts.
Young Allison thought all of the vehicles were very basic. They lacked a lot of the creature comforts of modern vehicles. She went back over to the Galaxie and climbed back inside. The temperature gauge showed the engine was warmed up. She revved up the engine a few times. She could really feel the car body torque over as the engine produced some horsepower. She shut the engine off and returned the keys back above the sun visor. She got out and faced Cameron.
"I think we have the vehicles covered for now." Young Allison said. "I take it there are more at some of the other safe houses."
Cameron was aware there were firearms, money and at least one vehicle, at each of the safe houses. The majority of those would be residential homes. The yards on all of them were tended by a 'Japanese gardener'. No two of the houses used the same individual.
All the financial bills were taken care of through a law firm. Cammy and Sheila set everything up. She knew they took most of their money from the Syndicate. The sports betting and stock market were just sideshows to them.
They headed back towards the house. They didn't use the passageway this time. Young Allison wanted to take a look around the property in the moonlight. She still carried the bulky flashlight if she needed it. It was big, but it was powerful.
Cameron took her to the other three small buildings. The one with the escape route was closest to the edge of the property. It was undeveloped land behind it. It immediately turned into the foothills. The only things in back of the property were a few horse trails.
Young Allison shined her light upon the rising landscape behind them.
"I can do my daily run along one of those trails." Young Allison said. "No one else will be up when I am, at least not on horseback."
Cameron wanted Young Allison to get cleaned up and turn in for the night. It was late.
"I think you should get a good night's sleep." Cameron said.
Young Allison was still a little beat.
"I'll get cleaned up and hit the sack." Young Allison said.
Cameron took one more look around the area before they entered the house. It was very quiet out.
"Does it matter which room is mine?" Young Allison asked.
Cameron would let her choose.
"You can have one or both of them." Cameron said. "I don't sleep. I won't go into standby either."
Young Allison was aware of why Cameron didn't go into standby. It was because of the time she got stuck in standby for months when there was an electrical wire tangled in her hair.
Young Allison chose the room at the back of the house. She didn't think much would happen on the narrow street out in front. The street dead ended just a few hundred feet past their property. It would allow her to keep an eye on the barn and the other outbuildings if she wanted to. She figured Cameron would probably patrol the perimeter at night.
She made her way into the kitchen. The appliances appeared to be new. There was a gas stove. The top of the stove had four burners. She could see there was a little pilot light on each of them. There was an oven below them with a broiler at the bottom.
She opened the refrigerator. She was surprised to see there were a couple of boxes of breakfast cereal inside of it. Both of them were unopened. There were also a few cans of food. One of them was a can of fruit cocktail. There were some other cans of peaches and pears, as well as string beans and peas. She wasn't exactly sure why they were in the refrigerator. She figured it would allow them to keep for a longer period of time. If there were any ants, they wouldn't be able to get inside of the refrigerator. She hoped there weren't any ants.
There were several different pans inside of the lower cupboard, as well as some silverware and knives in one of the drawers. One of the cupboards over the sink contained a few glasses and plates, along with some bowls and cups. There was enough of everything for four people. She figured the sets were probably sold in multiples of four. She really didn't know.
"If you want to drive around the area while I'm asleep it's fine." Young Allison said.
Cameron considered the possibilities.
"I may go for a walk." Cameron said. "If I go out, I'll take the van or the Falcon."
Young Allison went over to the record player and looked at it for a moment. She'd watched the jukebox play in the Fifties and Sixties diner many times. The record player was just a smaller version. She looked through the stack of 45 RPM records and saw all the popular tunes from the time. She thought about putting some of them on now. She didn't want to get her blood flowing if she started to dance.
She headed into the bathroom. She saw there was a new tube of toothpaste along with two toothbrushes still in the boxes. She knew Savannah was supposed to join her at some point. Young Jesse might as well. Savannah currently carried an embryo from Vanna. She knew Vanna would never take her child from her. It was the only way Vanna would accept it from Savannah, if it was her own. It didn't matter if they were the same person or not.
Young Jesse was pregnant as well. She'd used the traditional method this time. The baby wasn't for her either. It was for Jesse. Jesse was just the opposite of Vanna. She didn't want a child to come from her body. She felt she was tainted by her past and wasn't good enough to be the actual mother of her own child.
It made her think about Cameron. Cameron talked about starting a family to try to 'live a more normal life'. Everyone knew Cameron wanted a baby from her. Her mother said she would carry it for her, for Cameron. Savannah told her how traumatic it was to give up a child she carried and gave birth to. She'd already done it twice. She did it once for Future Savannah in Cameron's future, and once for Duplicate Savannah 'In Some Future' with Mrs. Weaver.
"The water is ready." Cameron said.
Young Allison jumped a little bit. She's been lost in thought. It was some heavy thought too.
"You can go first if you want." Young Allison said.
Cameron entered the room. She was drying herself off with a towel.
"I already did." Cameron said. "I'm glad we have a washer and a dryer."
Young Allison was glad to. She didn't like the idea of going to a laundromat to take care of the wash. She kicked her shoes off and pulled her socks off. She pulled the dress up over her head and off. She was naked.
"How often will I need to wear a dress?" Young Allison asked. "I saw there were several other choices in the closet along with skirts and blouses."
Cameron thought it would depend upon the occasion.
"I think most of the time you're good with pants and a shirt." Cameron said. "There are several different types of boots as well. We can share whatever clothing there is. Whatever fits me, will fit you."
Young Allison went back to the dresser and opened the bottom drawer. She pulled out a one piece bathing suit.
"I hope this is for Savannah." Young Allison said. "You know I like to wear a skimpy bikini, just like you."
Cameron frowned a little bit.
"The ones here have about two and a half times more material than you're normally used to wearing." Cameron said. "I'll modify them. I don't sleep."
Cameron planned to modify hers a little more than any she did for Young Allison. She wanted any wandering eyes on her. She knew Vanna always encouraged Savannah to wear a one piece to cover as much of herself as possible. It was what Vanna always wore as well. She always encouraged Young Allison to wear a bikini. She always reminded her that appearance was very important to John.
Young Allison hoped Cameron didn't take it too far.
"Don't forget this is 1963." Young Allison said. "You don't want to start a new trend too soon."
Cameron smiled as she exited the room.
"I'm sure I'll start more than a few." Cameron said.
Young Allison headed for the bathroom. She paused at the full length mirror in her room and looked at herself. She knew appearance was important. She didn't think it should matter though. A person should be who they were, not who or what they looked like. She always thought it was a little shallow on John's part.
She headed into the bathroom and used the shower. She needed to stand in the bathtub to do it. There weren't any glass doors on the side of the bathtub. There was a plastic curtain instead which slid on a rod. She could see the bottom of it was inside of the tub to keep it in water from getting out. She finished up quickly and dried herself off. She went back to her room and her night clothes were laid out for her on the bed.
She noticed the large flashlight was on the floor next to the nightstand by her bed. Her Hi-Power was on the nightstand next to a small lamp.
Young Allison put on her night clothes and pulled back the cover on the bed. She touched the sheets. The material felt a little rougher to her. Maybe it was because everything was new. She figured it would soften up after a few washings.
She decided to go see what Cameron was doing. She was a little surprised to find her watching television. She also held a transistor radio in her left hand as she did. She seemed to continuously adjust it to different stations.
"You can catch up on the old movies, before they're old." Young Allison said.
Cameron wanted to listen for any news.
"It's what I used to do when we first arrived in 2007." Cameron said. "I viewed many different programs and movies. What I found somewhat irritating, was on some of the syndicated TV shows, they seemed to show the same group of reruns over and over, while skipping a lot of other episodes in between them. I needed to seek them out on the computer to watch them."
Cameron tried to watch the current television programs to observe how other people acted. She found some of the people acted very bizarre. It always irritated her a little bit on some of the TV shows when someone would do something, and there was laughing in the background. She thought if something was funny, each person should laugh on their own. It did help her though to understand what was supposed to be funny. It was her goal to blend in and be like everyone else.
Young Allison bid her goodnight and went to bed. She reached over to the nightstand and took her Hi-Power. She released the safety and pulled the slide back a little bit to verify there was a round in the chamber. There was. She let the slide go forward and returned the safety to its former position. She slid it under her pillow. She reached over and turned off the lamp next to the bed. She was asleep in no time.
Cameron went through the television channels. There were seven of them. She went through a selection of different radio stations at the same time. There was no additional news other than what they already knew. She could have a newspaper delivered on a daily basis. She could also pick one up when they were out. She knew it was always 'yesterday's news' in the paper. Some of them actually had an afternoon edition. She would compare her files of the ones she viewed before they'd left on their temporal mission. If anything was different, she would need to look into it.
She heard music playing on the television set. She saw there was an American flag and a picture of some military equipment as well as some scenes from around the country. When the national anthem finished, there was a pattern which appeared on the screen. There was an 'Indian Chief's head' at the top of the pattern. She changed the channel. Another station had a similar pattern. It had a series of lines at the top and bottom in the shape of a pyramid. The other five channels were still on the air.
Cameron took another look around the house. She went and checked on Young Allison. She thought about 'conditioning' her for a while, but decided not to. She was pleased to see her Browning wasn't on the nightstand. She knew I would be under her pillow. She knew Young Allison usually slept with her Model 66 under her pillow. There wasn't going to be one available for a few more years.
She looked through Young Allison's purse. There was nothing in it. She opened the nightstand drawer and found the Model 19 in it, along with the box of ammunition she'd acquired in Texas.
Cameron took one more look around the house and went outside. She made sure the door was locked behind her.
It Was Time
Can anyone hear another
If they are only a mime
It may not do much good
To drop a dime
When it's more than a travesty
It may become a crime
No one wants to hear the voices
Unless they harmonize and chime
Words matter as much as actions
Especially when they begrime
There is no guesswork needed
When instead they are sublime
It's impossible for one always
To be in their prime
They may remain lucky
As long as the words will rhyme
When one holds true with honor
They can't be coated with grime or slime
When the hat is thrown into the ring
They know it was time
Nobody
