Chapter 1528

Dock Of The Bay

Cam decided to act. She coordinated with Gail, Bob and Jim. It was time to make a statement. They were Terminators.

One of the Grays was over by where she'd rigged the chemicals to mix into nitro. The liquids were in the process of being combined right now. She was afraid he might discover it. It would raise an alarm and make everything more difficult.

Both of the tram drivers and three other Grays showed their backs to her as they crouched behind heavy objects. The Terminator was about to set off another blast using nitro.

Cam made sure she was able to have some cover too.

She calculated her first six shots for the Grays. She planned to empty the rest of the magazine where the Terminator was about to place the nitro. She would get it to explode prematurely if she could. It should take out the Terminator. She wasn't sure if his power cell would rupture or not in the blast. There would be a catastrophic double explosion if there was.

Cam sent out a warning to the other Terminators. She said there was going to be a big explosion.

The lights all flickered once.

She fired her first six shots in just over a second at six widely spaced targets. They all went down with a head shot. She emptied the rest of the magazine's rounds in less than a second at the same target. The target was where the Terminator just placed the nitro.

The Terminator paused when he detected the silenced rounds in the quiet time when everyone stopped and took cover. He turned to look around.

The nitro exploded and Cam could see the Terminator was torn apart. She ducked down. Less than half a second later his power cell exploded.

The entire cavern shook massively. Chunks from the ceiling dropped down around her. There were a few Grays who'd panicked and tried to run. She'd changed magazines already and dropped them one by one. There were still a few unaccounted for. The area was thick with smoke and dust.

She stood and looked around at the devastation. The front end loader was on top of two of the Grays. Neither one moved. Two others had been crushed by falling rocks. The Terminator was destroyed. All the Grays were dead. It appeared she was off to a good start.

She hurried over to where the nitro was being mixed. She needed to stand two of the barrels back up. Most of them were knocked over. Others were leaking chemicals everywhere. She checked her explosive charge she'd left and headed up the sloped shaft. The air was full of dust and smoke. It billowed up past her.

Cam unslung her M4 and held it in her left hand. She held her silenced M9 in her right hand. She would need to rely on thermal imaging until the air cleared some. She figured it gave her an advantage under the current conditions. The rest of the individuals in the mine wouldn't know what actually happened. She hoped their first assumption would be, it was a tragic accident.

She didn't know what would await her as she ran up the sloped shaft. The blast knocked out her communications. She'd checked her repeater at the bottom of the slopped shaft and it was good. She figured the one at the top of the sloped shaft was damaged by falling debris. It was a really big explosion. When she detonated the hundred gallons of nitro later on, there was going to be an even bigger explosion….

She continued up the long steep sloped shaft through the billowing haze.

A short time ago:

Gail decided to take the Metal Bitch down at the same time as Cam acted. The female Terminator would probably be the biggest threat to her.

The two Grays were still somewhere where she couldn't see them. They were a threat too.

She could hear Toto running. It was close. It slowed some as it approached.

She was about to make her move to where the Metal Bitch went when the two Grays arrived at the far side of the clean room.

Those must have been the ones she'd heard earlier. She still didn't know where they'd been. They didn't see her yet.

"Here comes the Metal rat." The first Gray said.

"Let's mess with it." The second Gray said.

"Grab it and we can drop it down one of the shafts which don't go anywhere." The first Gray said. "It won't be able to get out. Its signal won't be transmitted either."

"I don't want it to bite me." The second Gray said.

"Don't be such a sissy." The first Gray said.

"You grab it then." The second Gray said.

"Maybe we can take a leak on it and short it out or something." The first Gray said.

Both Grays laughed.

"I hope it does short out." The second Gray said. "I never liked the way it spied on us."

"I always thought it was a spy device as well." The first Gray said. "Safety device my rear end."

"I caught it watching me more than a few times when there was some 'entertainment' in the fun room." The second Gray said.

"It's probably because it doesn't have a 'schlange'." The first Gray said. "I'm sure it would have taken a turn as well if it could have."

"I think you're right." The second Gray said. "Who turns down free 'stank'?"

Both Grays laughed again.

Gail needed to make her move on the Metal Bitch. The Grays were going to spot her and they wanted to disable Toto as a joke. It was time to act.

She quickly moved around the back of the finished clean room and came up behind the two Grays. Both of them unzipped their pants and waited for Toto to approach.

Toto paused about twenty feet from the men.

"What's it waiting for?" The first Gray asked.

"I think it knows what we are going to do." The second Gray said.

"I never thought any of the 'tin cans' were very smart." The first Gray said.

Gail holstered her silenced M9. She silently moved behind the Grays.

"Wrong…." Gail said.

Before either man could react, she rabbit punched both men in the back of the neck. The directed blow snapped their necks. She drug them back to where Bob and Jim left their M4 rifles at.

She saw Toto hurry into the clean room.

Once both men were stashed, she headed straight for the electrical room where the Metal Bitch entered.

Cam sent out a warning to the other Terminators.

Toto made its connection to the Skynet mainframe computer. Summer's encryption was unleashed. The lights all flickered once.

As Gail passed the clean room she saw Toto was connected to its dock. She figured it was probably why the lights flickered. Skynet was just 'attacked'. It would be isolated and unable to respond as everything was encrypted.

There was a massive explosion. It was followed almost immediately by a second even larger one on Level Five.

Everything around her moved some. Chunks of rock fell from the ceilings and the walls. The door to the electrical room popped open some. She thought the Metal Bitch was about to come out.

She quickly moved to the side of the door and held her Taser ready.

Small rocks fell everywhere. A lot of dust filled the air.

A large dust cloud began to billow up from the sloped shaft down to Level Five.

She'd lost communication with Cam after the explosion. She hoped she wasn't damaged and the second blast wasn't her power cell.

The door opened and the Metal Bitch ran out.

The Metal Bitch sensed Gail was there as she passed her. She went to turn around to see who it was.

Gail was ready and fired her Taser.

The Metal Bitch went down.

Gail pulled her knife and was about to remove the chip from the Metal Bitch when another figure appeared at the electrical room door. They must have been inside already. She was on her knees bent over the Metal Bitch. She grabbed the ankle of the person and pulled. It caused them to fall over backwards. Gail stuck her 'shocker' on the Metal Bitch and stood to engage the new threat.

The lights flickered intermittently now.

It was Summer versus Skynet.

Cam continued her long assent up the sloped shaft. She was aware there was a lot of debris on the sloped shaft along with some small boulders. It appeared the mine was totally weakened.

She was sure the hundred gallons of nitro was going to bring down Level Five and probably the rest of the mine as well.

Level Five was totally dark now.

The lights ahead at Level Four flickered intermittently.

A short time ago:

Bob wedged the gate closed at the opening for the elevator on the main shaft on Level Three. No one would enter or exit through it unless they brought some tools or a Terminator. Both of which were available in the mine. It would still take some time.

There were some rooms along the main passageway of Level Three.

Jim opened the first door. There was a Gray on his bed. The Gray looked up with surprise. He shot him once with his silenced M9.

Bob moved around Jim to the second room.

There were two Grays in there playing cards and smoking cannabis. He shot both of them with his silenced M9.

Jim went past Bob and entered the third room. It was empty.

Bob moved past Jim to the fourth room. There was a Gray asleep on the bed. Another silenced round found its target. He would sleep forever now.

They both moved to the fifth room. It was empty.

They moved to the sixth room and entered. They found the female.

There was a Gray in the room.

Bob grabbed his neck and lifted him off of the ground. He looked at the female and closed his hand. The Gray's spine collapsed. He dropped the dead Gray.

Jim touched the female. She was dead. There was almost no warmth to her body externally. She'd been dead for a few hours.

Bob and Jim looked her over. She'd been abused.

"Every Gray dies." Jim said.

Bob couldn't agree more. Justice needed to be served.

"Affirmative…." Bob said.

Cam sent out a warning to the other Terminators.

The lights all flickered once.

Bob and Jim headed out. There were two Grays who approached them. They paused when they saw their dust covered forms.

Bob and Jim each grabbed one. They snapped their necks and tossed them into the next room. It was empty.

There was a massive double explosion and the lights went out on Level Three. Dust filled the air as rocks dropped from the top of the passageway and the sides.

It actually made their job easier. More Grays came out of their rooms to see what happened. Their silenced pistols went through two magazines each before anyone figured out what happened. By then, they were all dead.

There was one lone Gray ahead of them as they hurried toward the sloped shaft.

The Gray was in total darkness. He touched the passageway wall. He'd been hit with some softball sized rocks and was a little stunned. In the darkness, he saw what looked like four red objects floating in the dusty air coming towards him. He was still a little groggy.

Jim and Bob passed by on either side of him. They both slammed a fist into the side of his head. His skull fractured and compressed to half its normal width. They kept moving.

They passed by the spot where they'd come down from Level Two. The boards were broken open and rock spilled out into the passageway. The sloped shaft going up to Level Two looked caved in. It was doubtful they would go back out through there. They climbed over the debris and continued towards the sloped shaft down to Level Four.

Right now they lacked communication with anyone.

John Henry and Summer watched Toto's cam as it headed for the clean room.

They could hear Gail's com feed and what the two Grays planned to do.

"Play it safe." Summer said. "Don't let Toto get too close to them."

John Henry slowed Toto's advance.

They watched Gail move behind both of the Grays and kill them. She moved their bodies away. They were out of sight and concealed now.

John Henry moved Toto into the clean room and made the connection with its docking port.

"Toto's in…." John Henry said.

Cam sent out a warning to the other Terminators.

"So am I." Summer said.

The lights flickered. Skynet tried to fight the intrusion. Every action it took was instantly encrypted.

They witnessed the massive double explosion from Cam's body cam and lost the connection with her.

John Henry thought it was with the equipment, not with Cam.

"She wasn't damaged." John Henry said.

They turned their attention to Jim and Bob. They saw what Gail was after once she dumped the two terminated Grays.

Things were happening everywhere.

Young Allison and Anna watched everything unfold.

After the big explosion, they lost contact with Jim, Bob and Cam.

They still could see Toto's feed and Gail's body cam. It was probably because of the repeaters Bob and Jim set up along Level Four to the Main Shaft.

CamNet sent a drone at altitude to be directly over the Main Shaft once Toto made its connection. Skynet was bound to know they were there, one way or another, by now.

They watched the footage from the two drones. There seemed to be a lot of confusion on the ground. It didn't appear the Grays knew they were under attack yet. They were unable to reach anyone inside of the mine.

The communication intercepts indicated they thought there was an accident in the mine.

Dan closed up on the target. Frank was already ahead of the punk. There was nowhere for him to go.

The punk looked back and spotted Dan behind him. At first he thought it was someone foolish enough to follow him from the liquor store. He wasn't sure if he needed to run or fight. He would rather fight.

He set one of the two bottles down he'd taken when he'd robbed the liquor store. He wanted to see if the man picked it up. The punk moved ahead and looked back. The man may or may not have picked it up. He couldn't tell. The man was much closer now too. He picked up the pace.

As he neared the street corner, the punk saw another big man walk out and block the sidewalk. He could run across the street or head into the alley and cut over to the next street. It would put him closer to the park and his friends. He chose the path which would lead him back to his friends. If there was going to be some type of problem. They could all face it together. It never crossed his mind he was actually being herded. He was where he was at because it was where Dan and Frank wanted him to be.

Dan ran up to make sure the punk didn't come out of the alley and go back the way he'd come. Frank got back into the SUV and hurried to block the other side of the alley to prevent the punk's escape.

The punk saw the headlights turn into the alley ahead of him and stop. The lights went out. He heard a vehicle door open. It was dark in the alley. He could make out a large figure moving towards him in the moonlight. He looked back. The other large man was behind him now. There was nowhere to go. He could see he was in trouble. He pulled out his knife. He was all alone. The rest of the gang wasn't there to support him.

Dan and Frank rapidly closed on the punk. They came at him from both sides at the same time. The punk spun around and dropped the bottle of hard liquor on the ground. It broke. Glass shards and liquid went everywhere.

The punk was slammed down hard on the pavement. His world went black.

Frank called Sheila and told her they had the next punk in custody and ready for 'justice'.

Cammy drove to the location with Sheila and Leticia. She was surprised to see Hanna and Ally were already there with Mary and Laura.

"Mary and Laura want to watch from the SUV." Ally said.

Cammy decided she would stay with them since it was Ally, Hanna and Sheila who'd originally dealt with the gang. She knew they would want to carry out their prior 'warning' to the gang.

"I have them covered." Cammy said. "I'll let the Three Musketeers deal with the punk."

Hanna and Ally got out. They joined Sheila and Leticia.

Cammy took over the wheel of the SUV and drove right up to where Dan and Frank held the punk. His pants were gone.

Mary noticed the two large individuals. It was clear they were involved with the 'special girls'.

"Who are those guys?" Mary asked.

Laura could tell they were a rough lot, simply based upon their appearance

"They look serious." Laura said.

Cammy didn't want to elaborate.

"They're our associates." Cammy said. "They are serious too. It's best if you don't communicate or interact with them."

Mary watched as Hanna and Ally each took an arm and a leg of the punk and held him down. It seemed only his head could move at that point. He was gagged.

They watched as Sheila began to beat and taunt him. They could all hear bones break, and Sheila laugh as she systematically beat him.

Mary and Laura watched and glanced at each other every time they heard a bone break. Some of them were compound fractures because the blows were so hard.

Cammy held out the female's underwear they'd taken away from the other punk in front of Mary and Laura.

"Just remember, this could have been your underwear a few days ago." Cammy said. "The foreign female tourists are still in the hospital. They didn't have a guardian angel to watch over them."

Mary watched Sheila 'work' on the punk. She wasn't so sure anymore if 'angel' would be the correct term. She didn't think too many angels were sadistic. Well, maybe Satan's angels were.

Leticia watched Sheila 'work'. There was enough moonlight to see. Sheila kicked the punk in the side of the head and he stopped moving. The main effect seemed to be it ended his whimpering. It was nice not to have to listen to it. It was actually quite pathetic. She wondered how many of his victims made the same pleas as the gang abused and brutalized them.

Sheila felt most of the punishment was already administered. It was time for the next phase of the operation. She held up the punk's knife.

"Do you want to serve justice?" Sheila asked.

Leticia took the knife from Sheila. She moved it towards his neck.

Sheila could see Leticia was more than a little hesitant. She wanted to give her some positive encouragement.

"That's it." Sheila said. "Stick the knife in his throat."

Leticia looked back at Mary and Laura.

Cammy held up the tourist's underwear to encourage her.

Sheila didn't want Leticia to lose her nerve.

"Do it." Sheila said.

Leticia did administer some punishment as Sheila had on the other punk. She could only take justice so far. Right now the punk would never hurt or abuse another individual. She wasn't quite ready to take it further. She wanted to do it. She just couldn't. She handed the knife back to Sheila. She wasn't ready to kill someone yet.

"It's all I can do for now." Leticia said.

Sheila took the knife back from her. She plunged the knife into the punk's throat.

"He'll bleed out in a few minutes." Sheila said.

It was time to throw out the trash.

Ally and Hanna tossed him into a dumpster.

Cammy turned on the headlights earlier when Sheila handed the knife to Leticia.

Mary and Laura watched with wide eyes. It was a little hard to fathom everything they'd just witnessed.

Leticia was pleased at what she'd done. She would have liked to have taken it all the way. Maybe next time she would. She'd gone further this time than she had previously.

Sheila opened the bottle of liquor Dan gave to her before he'd left. She rinsed everyone's hands off with the alcohol. She put the lid on and kept it for later on. They weren't done yet.

Sheila, Leticia, Ally and Hanna headed back to Sheila's SUV.

Cammy stayed with Mary and Laura.

Mary and Laura weren't really sure what they've gotten themselves into. They knew the actions of the individuals who'd been punished, and were about to be punished, was justified. It was still a little hard to be a part of.

Dan and Frank were already at the park They could see the gang was about to strike again.

"We have the gang spotted." Dan said. "They're about to attack a female. Check out the live feed."

Cammy played the transmission through her phone. She looked at Mary and Laura. There was a live image displayed. She wanted the girls to make a choice. They've been hesitant before to become more involved. Now she would put the choice in their hands. It would be up to them to make the decision.

"It's your call what happens next." Cammy said. "What do you want me to tell him?"

Mary and Laura were still uneasy about what they'd watched.

Cammy dropped the foreign female tourist's underwear between them.

Mary knew what would happen to the female which had just been cornered.

"Have them stop it." Mary said. "They need to help her."

Laura didn't want anyone else to face abuse at the hands of another. Someone needed to do something. The authorities would rather protect the perpetrators than the victims.

"Kill them." Laura said. "This has to stop. Those people are animals."

Cammy spoke into her phone.

"Terminate the threat." Cammy said. "Bring the leader and his slut for justice. Make sure the abused female gets away."

"Affirmative…." Dan said.

John and Camille held each other. They looked across the bay at the city lit up by the night lights. The full moon brilliantly lit the bay. They could see all the docks.

"I think we need to get dressed." Camille said. "We still have some of the city to see by cable car."

John knew he was spent. He could sure use one of those energy drinks about now or a stiff cup of espresso.

"You don't want to stay here on the dock of the bay?" John asked.

Camille moved over the top of John and kissed him.

"There will be another time for more of everything." Camille said.

John smiled. He sure hoped so, but he wouldn't hold his breath.

"I sure hope there is." John said.

John was elated. He'd just been with 'Cameron' again on her first time, even if it was Camille. It was almost the same as Cameron. Camille was much more responsive which drove the excitement level to a greater height.

Camille didn't want John to think of her as Cameron, even if she was.

"I may be her, but I'm not her." Camille whispered and gave John another kiss.

They playfully dressed each other.

John wondered where Steve and Tom went. He figured they were on patrol around the area.

Camille folded up the blanket and put the seats back upright.

Steve and Tom appeared on each side of the SUV from somewhere.

Camille sat in the middle and snuggled up next to John as they drove away. They crossed over the Golden Gate Bridge. They were soon in the city. They passed in front of Ghirardelli Square and stopped near the terminus of the Powell and Hyde cable car line.

John saw there were only a few people waiting there. He was sort of glad there wasn't a special cable car for the two of them.

"We'll follow you in the SUV." Steve said.

Camille looked at John with the look of love in her eyes.

"Don't worry." Camille said. "I'll protect him."

Camille felt John should have someone who deserved him. She didn't think it was Cameron.

The Terminator left the female behind in the locked room and headed towards the front. There were two more thugs to deal with there. The drone image indicated one of them stood by the front door. The other one was back a little further into the building. He could hear them converse as he approached.

"What do you think is going on?" The first man asked.

"It's probably a bunch of hoopla about nothing." The second man said. "Rocco thinks he's going to make a name for himself. He's probably just going to get people killed."

"I think we're a little safer here." The first man said.

"It may be so." The second man said. "No one can get to us here."

The Terminator moved up behind the second man. He snapped his neck.

The other man looked out the window towards the front. He heard the sound of the other man's neck snap and his body hit the floor. He wasn't sure what it was. He turned around to look. He was a little surprised to see a large man standing there. When he saw the pistol in his hand, he knew he was in trouble. When he realized there was a silencer on the front of it, he knew he was in real trouble. He made a desperate scramble for his pistol. He didn't make it.

The Terminator fired his silenced M9 once.

The first man fell to the floor.

The Terminator took a look around the front area. He made his way into the office. He removed the hard drives from the two computers there. He was about to head back to where the female was. He returned to the front and opened the safe. He removed the cash from inside of it. He placed it in a backpack he found alongside one of the desks.

The drone image showed it was clear around him still. The other drone tracked the two vehicles which left the location earlier. The lead vehicle pulled over to the side of the road and stopped. The other one pulled up behind it. One man got out of each vehicle and carried on a conversation between the two of them. The two men switched vehicles. The front vehicle continued on. The second vehicle made a U-turn.

The drone over the building he was in broke off to go after the second vehicle. There was a good chance it was on its way back to where he was.

He took a quick look around the building. There was a sizable quantity of narcotics inside of the building. He was going to start a fire with the Thermite grenades but decided to hold off and see where the second vehicle ended up at. If they saw the building was on fire as they approached, they probably wouldn't come very close. If they were coming back, he wanted them to come inside.

The Terminator received a new drone image. There was now another drone over his location. There were currently three of them at his disposal. The other two each tracked a vehicle which left from the location earlier.

The female waited inside of the room. The man, who'd threatened to disfigure her, lay on the floor. His knife was still on the ground in front of him. She'd picked it up as soon as the big man left earlier. She really didn't know what was going to happen. The big man had assisted her earlier. It didn't mean he wouldn't try something on his own later on. She held the knife. She needed to defend herself. She didn't want to end up like the other females who were removed a couple of days ago. She didn't looking forward to a 'new job' of such a nature.

He made his way back to the room he'd left the female in. He was sure she would try to attack him when he opened the door.

"I'm coming inside now." The Terminator said. "Don't do anything foolish. I'm not here to harm you."

He opened the door. He didn't see the female. He figured she was behind the door. The door had still been locked when he arrived.

He moved quickly into the room. He saw the female with a knife in her hand. He held his silenced M9 in his hand.

"You can keep the knife." The Terminator said. "Put it away for now. The men here are all dead. I need to get you and the others out."

The female looked a little apprehensive. She could see the big man held a pistol with a silencer on it. He could have shot her at any time but he didn't. In fact she hadn't heard any shooting at all.

"Are you going to let me go?" The female asked.

The Terminator handed her the backpack.

"Yes." The Terminator said. "This is for you and the others. The men here won't need it anymore. They don't need anything anymore. Let's go."

The female still held the knife. She looked in the backpack and saw it was full of cash. She didn't know how much it was, but she could tell it was thousands of dollars. She looked at the big man and put the knife inside of the backpack.

The female expected to see more men. There were a lot of them before.

"Where is everyone?" The female asked.

"The ones here have been terminated." The Terminator said. "There's a car load of four on the way back here. There's four more headed to another location. We need to hurry. Tell the others they're about to be freed. There are several vehicles in the back."

The female thought it was too good to be true. She reached in her pocket.

"I have the keys for one of them." The female said. "I took them off of the man who tried to hurt me."

The Terminator nodded. He led the girl towards the room with the other detainees.

The first man gave both of the men a sideways look and left. He wanted to check on the motor pool next. He made his way to where the vehicles were parked. There were several big rigs inside. There were also a couple of trucks and a half dozen cars. They were all vehicles which were picked up around the surrounding area. The previous occupants no longer needed them. They were all dead.

The only good part of it all was, some of them had some decent looking females in them. None of them lasted longer than a week. The crew was usually pretty rough on them. They were used to the continuous supply in the future when Skynet raids would be conducted. Anyone who they could find was brought in for work camp duty. It was a choice assignment to be on guard duty in one of the camps. There was always some new 'excitement' available.

The first man was about to head towards another storage area when there was another loud electrical noise and explosion from the other end of the building. He figured he'd better go check it out.

The female Fanatic wanted to try to cause as much destruction as possible. They carried a few explosives with them. They could best be used against a target which would be explosive.

"I want to try to get the other HK Track reprogrammed. It can help us out if I do." The female Fanatic said. "It should be able to defeat the Terminator."

Jill kept watch as Jackie went to work on the second HK Track.

The two truck drivers continued to load the truck. She could see they were almost done. She didn't think they had much longer until they stopped.

"I think the trucks are almost full." Jill said. "I don't know where the men are going to go when they're done. They might even leave. We don't know yet."

The female Fanatic didn't want anyone to leave.

"We'll try to kill them first." The female Fanatic said. "We need to see if we can lure one of them over here."

Jill wondered how they were supposed to do it. She didn't want to use herself as bait.

The female Fanatic finished up with the HK Track.

"Wait over here." The female Fanatic said. "I'm going to start a small fire. One of the men should come over to see what the smoke is."

The female Fanatic took out a lighter she'd taken from one of the men they'd killed earlier. She went over to a trash can and looked inside. There were some crumpled up papers in there. She picked one of them up and used the lighter to light it on fire. She dropped it back in the trash can.

The trash can begin to smoke. The man who wasn't on the forklift, looked around when he smelled the smoke. He saw some smoke coming up near where the HK Tracks were parked. He decided to go over and take a look. The other man continued to use the forklift.

The first truck driver hurried over to the location and spotted the smoke coming from a trash can. He quickly turned it upside down. The lack of oxygen would smother the flames. It was what he hoped anyway.

The female Fanatic made her move. She was almost to the truck driver when there was a loud electrical noise and explosion from the area by the door where they'd entered.

Lena and Tina watched a Terminator approach the two technicians. He looked very displeased. He carried on a conversation with them for a short time. He stood back a short distance when the technicians turned on the electrical power again.

They watched as a rectangular black box appeared on the wall. It was approximately two feet wide by six feet tall.

The two female Terminators looked at each other. Based on the information they possessed, they knew it was some type of portal. They had no idea where the portal went. The other Resistance group who'd encountered one had been unable to determine where the portal led. From what they'd gathered so far with what they'd been able to hear, it didn't appear the technicians new either.

The Terminator moved up to the portal. He looked at it, but didn't enter it. He looked around and picked up a piece of wood near one of the crates. He moved back over to the porthole and stuck the piece of wood into the opening.

They watched as the piece of wood went into the blackness. They knew it was a solid wall behind it before. The board shouldn't have been able to go anywhere, but it did.

The Terminator pulled the piece of wood out and looked at it. It looked the same to him now as it did before.

The black rectangle began to fluctuate. It suddenly closed in on itself until there was a small black square left in the middle of where the opening had been.

The first technician increased the power to the emitters to try to get the opening back.

There was a blinding flash followed by a loud electrical and explosion noise and. Lena and Tina could both feel they'd been affected by the electrical discharge.

Cameron and Young Allison finished with the firearms. Everything was soon put away. They washed their hands in the kitchen sink.

The music was all done playing.

Young Allison went and looked at the record player. She was glad to see it functioned like it was supposed to. She figured the Metal girls probably made sure it would function under any conditions.

She carefully removed the records from the player and put each one of them back in their sleeve. She made sure they all went back into the proper sleeve. The records were from a number of different publishers. It looked to her as if there were probably about a hundred different 45 RPM records. She kept the ones she'd already played separate from the ones she hadn't played. There were approximately ten LP albums there as well.

Cameron took a quick check around the house while Young Allison tended to the record player. Everything appeared to be in order. She went back to Young Allison's room.

"Do you want to change before we go out?" Cameron asked.

Young Allison looked down at her clothes. She thought they were fine. There was no need to dress up fancy.

"We're just going to look around right?" Young Allison asked.

Cameron would like to scope out a few locations along the way.

"We can drive around and hit a few stores and then stop somewhere if you want to eat." Cameron said. "Which vehicle do you want to take?"

Young Allison wanted to drive all of them. She knew she needed to be prudent about it as well.

"I think we can take the van or the panel truck." Young Allison said. "Depending upon where we go, the panel truck might be a little sturdier. It is a truck after all."

Cameron tilted her head slightly.

"Do you want to go to a specific place?" Cameron asked.

Young Allison wanted to look at something she knew existed in 1963, but not in her time period. It was there before, but not anymore.

"I have a place in mind." Young Allison said.

Young Allison double checked to make sure the record player was turned off. She thought about unplugging it from the wall, but didn't think it was necessary. It did have an on off switch after all.

They headed out to the garage.

Cameron opened the garage door.

Young Allison went to the panel truck and climbed inside. She flipped down the visor and the keys dropped down into her hand. She took a moment to look at the shift lever. It was a 'three on the tree'. She hadn't driven a manual transmission very often. She knew how to do so. She depressed the clutch and worked the shifter through the different gears to get the feel of them. It seemed simple enough.

She pumped the gas pedal several times and turned the ignition. The panel truck instantly fired up.

"What's this thing have in it?" Young Allison asked.

Cameron previously inspected all of the vehicles when Young Allison was asleep.

"It has a 292 V8." Cameron said. "It's not a high performance engine, but it will get the job done."

Cameron figured it could have been worse. It could have been equipped with the standard inline six cylinder engine. The inline engines were good for regular use. They would produce plenty of torque, even if they lacked horsepower.

Young Allison pushed on the clutch. She worked the shifter down and over to the left for first gear. She slowly let out on the clutch. The panel truck pulled forward. As soon as she was clear of the garage, Cameron closed the door. Cameron had already opened the gates. She drove out of the driveway while Cameron locked everything up. Cameron climbed in on the passenger side a few moments later.

She was more familiar with a floor shifter on other vehicles. It was the first time she operated a manual transmission connected to the steering column. She shifted into second gear as she went down the street. The maneuver was up and to the right. To go into third gear was straight down from second. Up and to the left was reverse. It was an 'H' pattern.

She looked at the radio but didn't turn it on. She didn't want to hear any news right now. She knew what the lead story would be.

Young Allison wanted to get to Topanga. She didn't want to have to use the stop sign at Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Chatsworth Street. She cut down south on Canoga Avenue to Devonshire Street. She drove over the railroad tracks and past the Munch Box. She was soon at Topanga Canyon Boulevard. She made a left and headed south. She noticed right away soon after they crossed over Lassen Street, the road veered off to the left and went east around the base of a hill. She was more familiar with the road which went through the hill in her time period.

She soon reached the next cross street. It was Plummer Avenue. She made a right hand turn and headed west. The area around them was mostly fields and some farmland. When they arrived at the next cross street, there was a small dairy on the south side of the street. She was a little surprised to see there were actually cows in a pasture next to it and in back of it. She knew there would be a few dairies located around the area during the time period.

Cameron noticed Young Allison paid attention to the bovines.

"We can stop by there sometime if you want fresh dairy products." Cameron said. "I was going to stop by there last night but they were closed."

Young Allison figured there were a lot of places they could stop by. She felt like she was driving out in the country right now. There were only a few scattered houses around them. Within a minute of driving, she crossed over another street which went to the north. She knew it was the continuation of Valley Circle Boulevard. She was aware different parts of the street had different names. She been around it before. There was something specific she wanted to see which existed in 1963. It didn't exist any longer during her time period.

Young Allison passed by a small hill on the south side. She immediately saw what she wanted to see. It was quite impressive.

Dock Of The Bay

Sometimes it's a hard choice
Whether to go or stay
It's more about what someone does
Than just what they say

Some sit around and hope
Others will even try and pray
When stuck in those groups
They become easier prey

The good with the bad
One must always contemplate and weigh
When they don't see ugly things clearly
They get knocked out of the way

The message is out there
It's not too hard to convey
It doesn't take very much
To leave everything in disarray

Before a bridge buckles and collapses
There's often a certain amount of sway
One may not see it at all
Waiting at the dock of the bay

Nobody
