A woman was just doing the dishes while her husband was finishing up with bills. In their tropical home, the wife finished the dishes and sat on the sofa, worrying about her son.
"I can't believe I could forget my own son. How can I?" She lamented.
"It's odd, yes. We tried talking to the police, but naturally suddenly bringing up we have a missing son made us look shady and we barely managed to clean up the misunderstandings." The husband said, drinking some tea and sighing.
"Sora. Where are you? Please come home." The mother prayed while she held her own crown necklace, identical to her son's.
"Sora. I'm sorry that I didn't stop you." The father cried. "If only had I been more prepared, I could've kept you safe and not to go to the play island. I swear, I failed as a father." She started to cry like a child losing their loved one.
"Sweetie, it's out fault. We let him have so much freedom, and it bit us in return. I'm surprised he hasn't get in trouble regarding the girls at this point." She said with her hand on her husband's back.
"I assumed Sora has a thing for Riku. You saw how the two are. I didn't want to sound like a bad parent when talking about Riku. Of course, he's been missing as well. You don't think they were… no! No, no. Please let me not think of it."
"The detectives we hired are doing everything they can. Sadly, they seem to be convinced about "other worlds." She blew into her nose.
"Sora and Riku are so convinced, doesn't help this was when Kairi happened to be on the island years ago. Sure she looked a little different from others, but she was just a child and the mayor took her in."
"I hope they can come back soon. It's getting dark, we need to make sure the door—"
Just as mentioned, the door opened up. As wary as people would be, the father reached for a gun he stored away while the mother grabbed a baseball bat as a melee weapon. The two moved slowly to their door, and of course the mothers winged without hesitation in case this is a thug or a killer on the loose, as mentioned many times on the radio. The person she nearly hit was their own son, Sora. Sora deflected the baseball bat with his Keyblade, but the bat was sliced in half and the fallen half landed onto her foot, causing her to yelp.
"Mom! Dad! It's me!" Sora yelled to his parents.
the father put away his gun, and he inspected Sora, recognizing him, he teased up and hugged him.
"My son! We missed you so much!" He said, crying. Then he hit Sora on the head with his built up frustration and paternal instinct telling him to make Sora understand the gravity of the situation. "Young man! You realized how worried sick we are?! Police, detectives, and other rescue teams were looking all over for you and you just finally decided to show up? What happened and where have you gone to? You better have a good excuse, no. A great excuse."
"While I agree with him, Sora. But honey." The mother held her husband's hand. "Whatever happened must've been serious. He just gone and left to their play island when that black hole showed up out of nowhere. He probably has an excuse, though it might be hard to believe. Let's hear him out later. He's probably starving and exhausted."
The father sighed and hugged Sora again. "I'm sorry for hitting you like that. I was your age when I would play hooky with my dad. I don't want you to end up like me." He said, letting go and sitting down.
"Okay. We'll order pizza and we will listen whatever happened, okay? I hope Riku is okay as well. And apparently Kairi went missing, but she came to us saying something about Xemnas, Kingdom Hearts, and you and Riku fighting this Xemnas guy. What's that about?" She asked her son while picking up her cellphone.
Sora chuckled with his hands behind his head, with a face that says their talk would be a long, confusing one. "Well, it's a very long story. It all started with that black hole in the sky…"
This was quite an itch in my brain for a while. I'm sure we all thought of similar situations once, and this was something I wished to see in Kingdom Hearts remakes if they ever make those. thank you for reading.
