Chapter 1560

Rock Wall

Young Allison and Anna followed the damaged HK drone's trek with one of their drones at high altitude.

John Henry and CamNet masked all their drones and any of their air operations from radar. There was a UH-1 inbound with six Terminators on board. They were ready to transport the trucks and other military equipment from the first and second building. Everything of value was almost loaded and ready to go. Bob's team and Al's team were hard at work.

CamNet kept Anna closely updated on the damaged HK drone's progress. There was a new development.

"The HK drone is losing altitude." Anna said.

Young Allison watched. She was unsure what was about to happen.

"Is it going to crash or land?" Young Allison asked.

It looked to Anna as if it might be a forced landing.

"It's hard to say right now." Anna said. "It's headed for a dry river bed. It's one of the shallow and wide ones with a dirt bottom."

Young Allison knew how the 'rivers' were in Southern California. They were just a trickle of water for about three hundred and fifty days a year. When it did rain, they often filled up to the banks for a day or two and then subsided back down to nothing, or a small trickle.

"If it stops by a bridge, or where the road is near the bank, I think someone will come to retrieve it." Young Allison said. "If it crashes, I think it's down for good."

She was still sure someone would try to retrieve it. If nothing else they would at least watch it.

Their drone at altitude zoomed in on the stricken HK drone. It was right down on the deck now in the dry riverbed. It looked like it may have touched the ground at one point for a second. It slowed and stopped. It landed in a cloud of dust near a road which passed by the dry river bed. It was right next to it.

"It's down." Anna said.

Young Allison was a little concerned she may have damaged it too badly. It wouldn't deviate from its mission otherwise. She didn't want it near where their troops were. She'd hoped to track it back to where it originated from.

"It's unfortunate." Young Allison said.

Anna knew there were a few options open to them.

"We can send a crew out now after it." Anna said. "Ned and Wes can take the Blackhawk."

Young Allison wasn't so sure it was a good idea. She was worried about a sucker play.

"What if it's what it wants us to do and it's 'playing possum'?" Young Allison asked. "It may be whoever is controlling it, wants to see if anyone comes for it. They may send more HK drones to attack our troops or try and follow us."

Anna didn't like the prospect.

"CamNet will send another drone so we can follow any vehicles, or blanket the area with 'metal hail' and terminate everyone involved." Anna said. "There's always another card to play."

Young Allison was pleased with the options.

Hank and Larry left the tunnel system and went out into the open. Samantha secured the door behind them. They headed straight for the first building. There were already six trucks ready to go.

Al and Ed pulled out two more large military style trucks from inside.

They could hear a UH-1 rapidly approaching. The 'chop chop chop' of the rotor was always very distinct from an Iroquois.

Bob and Jim already loaded three trucks and were about to pull a fourth one out of the building.

It was decided to send Michael and Richard over from the hangar in the third building. The two pilots from the UH-1 could drive the trucks they'd loaded inside the hangar. The girls inside the hill could take the Iroquois when they left. It would be there waiting for them.

They could hear the UH-1 on its final approach.

Michael and Richard received word to head over to the second building. They could hear a drone approach.

'Cherry Bomb' flew into the hangar and landed between the trucks and the side of the hangar where it went into the hillside. Michael and Richard took off for the second building.

Ken and Lou flew the UH-1. They moved fast on a low approach. It was the helicopter they'd captured earlier in the night from the Grays. If anything was detected, it should look like the helicopter returned to where it was sent from.

'Coltan Overcast' flew out to where they were currently at. It picked them up five miles out. It now flew above and in back of them off to the side.

John Henry gave them a direct approach. They slowed and hovered three feet off of the ground near the first building. Steve, Tom, Dan and Frank all hopped out. Al assigned them each a truck. Ed started out with the first truck. He was followed by Hank and Larry. The rest of the trucks would be out within a minute.

Ken and Lou took back off and passed in front of the second building. They saw Michael and Richard just arrived there on foot. Bob assigned them each a truck.

Lou set the Iroquois down outside the hangar of the third building. 'Coltan Overcast' flew a circle around it once and gained altitude. It still was low as it began a close in patrol of the area around the third building.

Ken and Lou shut the UH-1 down and did a quick inspection of it. Everything looked good. They ran inside and hopped in the two trucks. They were loaded and ready to go. They drove out of the hangar section and fell into line behind Bob, Jim, Richard and Michael. They were already out in front of them. They were all behind Al's team.

They'd just made a big haul of Skynet resources. Now they needed to get them to secure a location for a thorough inspection.

John Henry and Summer watched the drone footage.

"All of the trucks are away." John Henry said. "I'll have them split up into pairs once they are out of the immediate area."

Summer wanted to make sure they were covered with drone protection.

"There should be a drone for each set of trucks." Summer said. "We've taken a lot of equipment tonight."

John Henry checked with CamNet. He figured with Summer's 'suggestion', it would already be taken care of. It was. He didn't know CamNet needed to pull some drones off of a couple of clandestine operations she ran on her own.

"There's good drone coverage." John Henry said. "It leaves ten over the target area, plus 'Coltan Overcast' and 'Cherry Bomb'."

Summer knew Young Allison controlled two more of their drones to watch over the HK drone which was now down in the river bed. They needed to see what developed there. They would know soon enough. She was as worried as Young Allison was the HK drone wasn't as damaged as it seemed and waited to see who came for it.

The fact they didn't have contact with the girls was a little worrisome. They'd just received reports from Samantha, Hank and Larry all in the last five minutes. It seemed the operation was about to conclude. They appeared to at least be in the final stage.

Jim and Bob requested to hold at five miles out from the target area until they heard from the girls again. He wanted to be close by in case they needed any back up on the ground.

John Henry told them they could do it. It was a good idea for right now.

Summer contacted CamNet and suggested Ned and Wes have the Blackhawk ready to go at a moment's notice if it was needed to pick up any more of the Terminators who'd left the area in the trucks.

CamNet wanted to know if Jesse, Vanna and Allison should be put on alert duty.

Summer said she'd think about it. It wasn't her preference. She knew the Resistance girls from the future were all combat trained. None of them would hesitate to enter the fight if they needed to help out their teammates.

She wondered if anyone would realize it was a little more than coincidence the girls were at the same airport with the Blackhawk near the operation, even if they were in the 727 Executive Transport. She didn't think it hurt to have a backup plan for a backup plan.

Earlier:

Samantha joined up with Young Jesse and Camille. They ran to catch up with Sheila, Ally and Gail. Thirty seconds later the team was together again. They headed for the spot where Ally left Cammy, Cam and Hanna.

Ally took the lead at this point. She'd traversed the area earlier. Everything was the same. A few minutes later they arrived at the chamber.

"Yellow." Ally called out.

"Canary." Hanna responded.

The girls entered the chamber.

Hanna worked on the HK Tracks. She had one almost ready to go. Sheila, Ally and Samantha helped her with the second one.

Young Jesse rushed over to the hoist and cautiously looked down the shaft into the darkness.

"How far down is it?" Young Jesse asked.

Hanna told them Cammy and Cam already headed down the cable to the bottom. She didn't know how far it was. They knew there were at least two Skynet Terminators down there. They suspected there were also Grays as well.

There was no contact with either Cam or Cammy.

Young Jesse was very concerned.

"We need to go to them." Young Jesse said. "They may be in trouble."

Camille thought it was a bad idea for Young Jesse to go.

"No." Camille said.

Young Jesse wasn't dissuaded. There were multiple instances where a human was vital to the operation. Savannah had been on a number of those. The brunt of the fighting had fallen on her back when Terminators became disabled. Savannah didn't shy away from her duty. She didn't intend to either. It was why she was there in the first place. She wanted to give Savannah a break.

"What if the Grays used an EMP grenade against them or there's some electrical field down there out of control?" Young Jesse asked. "It's happened before."

Ally could see things were going to get out of hand. She didn't want any tension between Camille and Young Jesse. She left the second HK Track to Hanna, Sheila and Samantha.

"I'll go next." Ally said.

Camille looked at Young Jesse. She wanted to try to maintain some control of the situation. She didn't know if it would work or not.

"Promise me you'll stay up here, and I'll go with her." Camille said.

Young Jesse couldn't make the promise. She seriously doubted she would be able to keep it. If the team needed assistance, she was going to render it. She wanted to make her position clear and why.

"If I need to go down there to get you out, I'm going to do it anyway." Young Jesse said. "I won't lie about it. I won't make a promise I don't intend to honor. I won't go until it's necessary. It's the best I can do."

Camille figured it was the best she was going to get out of it. She was aware of Young Jesse's training. She'd provided most of it. She knew Young Jesse would step up when she needed to. She'd already proven it three times at least three times on the current operation.

There was some 'clanking' sound. Hanna and Samantha each rode on the back of an HK Track out towards the front. They were going to leave one blocking each of the blast doors open. They would also serve as a communications relay.

Sheila joined the rest of the girls. She didn't want there to be any friction between Camille and Young Jesse either.

"Ally and I have this one." Sheila said. "Camille, Gail and you make sure we have a way out. Hanna and Samantha should be back soon."

Sheila pressed something into Young Jesse's hand as she passed her.

Young Jesse expected Sheila to turn back and wink at her. She didn't.

Sheila and Ally started down on the cable.

Young Jesse turned away from the others and looked at what Sheila placed in her hand. It was her nipple rings! She rushed back to the shaft and looked down. Ally and Sheila were already out of sight. She realized Sheila thought they weren't coming back! She hurried over to Gail. She touched the backpack nuke. She was going to personally make Skynet pay if any of the Metal girls didn't make it.

"Show me how to arm this device." Young Jesse said.

Camille came over as Gail took it off her back.

Gail went over the arming procedure with the timer.

Young Jesse wanted to know a little more. She might need to take it a step further. It was the only way she could be sure.

"Show me how to manually detonate it." Young Jesse said.

Camille could see where things were headed.

"NO!" Camille said.

Young Jesse knew both Savannah and Young Allison were willing to do the same thing to protect each other.

"Don't make me guess and push the wrong thing before I need to." Young Jesse said. "Show me how to manually detonate it."

Gail looked at Camille.

Camille nodded once. Young Jesse made her very proud, even if it was the last thing she wanted to happen.

Gail explained the procedure to both of them.

Neither Gail nor Camille planned to allow Young Jesse do it herself if they were still active and not shut down. It was clear Young Jesse took everything very seriously.

Samantha and Hanna moved forward with the HK Tracks.

Hanna parked the HK Track at the outer blast door and activated the transmitter. The forklift was still in place on the other side. Richard and Michael returned it after they'd used it earlier.

Samantha left her HK Track at the inner blast door. The transmitter was activated. She followed behind Hanna on foot with her M4 ready.

They received a signal from John Henry. They all heard a transmission they could have done without.

"Don't make me guess and push the wrong thing before I need to." Young Jesse said. "Show me how to manually detonate it."

Hanna and Samantha hurried back into the interior to see what it was all about. John Henry quickly filled them in on what happened in the last few minutes. It looked like the trucks were all away.

Anna and Young Allison watched the sky and the roads around the area where the HK drone was down at. So far nothing showed any signs of movement.

They received some better news.

"John Henry has communication with the girls again." Anna said.

They immediately heard a transmission they could have done without.

"Don't make me guess and push the wrong thing before I need to." Young Jesse said. "Show me how to manually detonate it."

Anna and Young Allison looked at each other. Maybe the news wasn't better after all. It sounded like bad news.

Young Allison knew where Young Jesse was at with a request like that.

"Get me a private line to Young Jesse." Young Allison said. "I need it now."

CamNet set it up immediately.

Summer was thrilled the communications were restored with the girls. She wasn't thrilled at what they heard.

"Don't make me guess and push the wrong thing before I need to." Young Jesse said. "Show me how to manually detonate it."

Summer looked at John Henry and contacted CamNet.

Maybe it was time for a temporal extraction.

"Don't make me guess and push the wrong thing before I need to." Young Jesse said. "Show me how to manually detonate it."

Gail looked at Camille.

Young Jesse could see she'd made everyone a little more concerned than they needed to be.

"Everyone relax a little." Young Jesse said. "I just want to know how the device works and what to do in a worst case scenario."

Camille nodded once.

Gail explained the procedure to both of them.

Camille raised her M4 as they heard running footsteps. It was Samantha and Hanna.

The girls all watched how to operate the backpack nuke. Hank and Larry modified it some when they'd procured it. They'd explained everything to Gail when she took charge of it. They'd been specifically instructed by CamNet to make the device easily manually detonated. They didn't know it was another suggestion by Summer. Nobody knew Summer planned to be the one to do it if it became necessary.

Everyone listened to the briefing.

Camille continued to try and make contact with the four Terminators who went down into 'The Hole'.

So far she'd been unsuccessful.

Earlier:

Cammy went down the cable in the center of the shaft. She was uncertain where the bottom actually was at. They would most certainly make contact with the elevator car, or bucket, before they actually reached the bottom.

She saw Cam was right behind her. The cable wasn't as greasy as it first appeared when they'd started down. It was a good thing.

Cammy tried to contact Hanna at the top, but couldn't reach her. She tried Cam right above her. There was no response. She wondered what it was all about.

Cam followed Cammy down the cable. She understood Cammy's 'need' to face Skynet. She felt it too. It was the 'Cameron' in them. Cameron wanted to personally destroy every Skynet herself. She wanted Skynet to know it was her who did it.

She tried to reach Cammy or Hanna but was unable to do so. She closed up the distance on Cammy. She didn't want to get separated from her.

Cammy could make out something below her. It was the roof of the elevator car. It blocked any light which might escape from the lower level. It made her wonder if there were additional lower levels. It was a possibility.

She slowed and made contact with the roof of the elevator. She looked around the sides of it. There was about a foot of empty space on each side. There wasn't enough room to pass along the sides of it, even if she took all of her gear off.

Cam joined Cammy on the roof of the elevator.

Cammy moved to a hatch on the top of the elevator roof and carefully opened it. Cam pointed her M4 into the opening as she did. It was dark inside the elevator. She held onto the sides of the hatch and quietly dropped down inside. Cam joined her a few seconds later.

"There's someone else on the cable now." Cam whispered. "I can't reach anyone."

Cammy thought it was just her who was cut off from everyone. She understood why they were others following them. They didn't know what happened to them.

"I can't either." Cammy whispered. "It's why there's someone following us now."

Cammy moved over to the door of the elevator. She was surprised there wasn't any light visible. She expected at least some to bleed through.

Cam could see what Cammy was about to do. She was ready to back her up.

"Open the door slightly." Cam whispered. "I'll cover you."

Cammy carefully pried the doors apart an inch. It was still total darkness. She shoved them the rest of the way open.

There was nothing but a solid rock wall in front of them.

"What the Hell?" Cammy asked.

Ally and Sheila were both going down the cable. They were right on top of each other.

"I think I felt some movement." Ally said.

Sheila tried to be funny.

"It's probably the cable sliding tight between your legs." Sheila said. "Maybe you just 'got off'."

Ally thought about it. It would be a stimulating way to slide down the cable. If it wasn't so greasy, she'd try it. She looked up to see if it was what Sheila actually did.

They started to receive a transmission from the surface level.

"Quit fooling around and g…." Hanna started and stopped.

Sheila paused. She tried to reach Hanna again. There was nothing. Ally was still going down. She wanted her to pause for a moment.

"Stop." Sheila said.

Ally stopped. She saw Sheila was above her by twenty feet right now.

"What's wrong?" Ally asked.

Sheila attempted to communicate with Hanna again without any results.

"I just lost communications at this point." Sheila said.

Ally tried her com. It was dead.

"Mine doesn't work either." Ally said.

Sheila was a little worried. There needed to be a reason why. She thought about the way Hanna's transmission stopped in mid sentence.

"There must be a Skynet jamming field in effect at the bottom of this shaft." Sheila said. "Stay there. Let me check something."

Sheila climbed back up ten feet. There was a crackle in her com. She went up five more feet.

"…an you hear me?" Hanna asked.

Sheila moved down a little again and lost Hanna. She moved back up.

"I can hear you now." Sheila said. "There's some kind of jamming field in effect. It starts about five feet below me. It's why we can't contact Cam or Cammy. Ally's twenty feet below me. I can't contact her except by my voice."

John Henry was able to listen in.

"Have you tried a repeater?" John Henry asked.

Sheila tried one. There was no change as soon as she went down five feet. She quickly moved back up the cable.

"It didn't work." Sheila said.

There was a pause.

"Maybe you should take some rope or a cable with you." John Henry said.

Sheila wondered what for. She was on a cable now.

"Do you think we'll have to hang someone?" Sheila asked.

There was another pause.

"It's so you can be pulled back up if you become incapacitated and fall off of the cable." John Henry said. "That way you won't impact the bottom of the shaft or the top of the elevator car if you can't hold on."

Sheila didn't think she was so funny now. What if it happened to Cam and Cammy already?

"We're looking around for something up here now." Hanna said.

Samantha found several large spools of thick electrical wire. It was of a heavy gauge with multiple wires inside. She tested the strength. It would hold the weight of at least three Terminators before it broke.

They rigged up two of the wires and coiled them up to the distance Sheila told them she was down the shaft, and Ally was twenty feet lower.

"We're sending down two hundred feet of cable. The top of it is secured up here." Hanna said. "The rest is coiled so you can play it out. There's an additional coil attached to your roll for Cammy and Cam when you find them. After you have yours and it is secured, we'll drop Ally's down."

The heavy gauge wire was dropped down and Ally and Sheila were soon secure. It was a grim reminder of what they dealt in. It was death. They continued down.

Hanna and Samantha decided they were going to follow them down in a short while if there was no further contact.

It would leave Gail, Camille and Young Jesse up top.

Camille and Gail were instructed by the Command Center to see what could be rigged up to communicate through the wire. The heavy wire casing actually consisted of a number of color coded wires inside of it.

Young Allison contacted Young Jesse directly.

"Hi, Jesse, it's Allison. I'm with Anna." Young Allison said. "Just listen. Only you can hear me. I know what you're thinking because I've been there myself. As long as we can get your accurate depth and location, we can send an energy bubble for you. We can do a temporal extraction. It's been done for Cameron and Savannah on more than one occasion."

Much to both of their surprise, Summer joined the conversation from the Command Center.

"Hello, everyone." Summer said. "I hate to intrude. I'd already asked CamNet for a secure line as well. Because we have contact with Jesse's team right now, we know exactly where they're at from the position the HK Tracks were at when they were reprogrammed the last time. We can effectuate a temporal extraction at any point for them. If the energy bubble appears, anyone there needs to enter it. If it shows up, it's there for a reason. It's probably a good one."

Young Allison said what Young Jesse wanted to ask.

"What about the Terminators in 'The Hole'?" Young Allison asked.

Summer already came up with some calculations and contingencies.

"It's why we need them to get the cable hooked up." Summer said. "They should have enough around them to do it. We know where the shaft is at. We just need a direction and depth."

Hanna and Samantha found everything they needed. Gail and Camille secured their heavy gauge wires.

They were ready to go down.

Earlier:

Claire rolled over on top of John and kissed him deeply as she positioned herself. She let out a slight expression of joy as she found and received what she wanted. She broke the kiss and moved to a more upright position and 'went to work'.

John was always happy to go along for the ride.

He did wonder when Claire actually arrived there. It didn't really matter right now.

He was turned on to watch her jewelry bounce, along with what it were attached to. Her movement was smooth and firm. He watched the expression on her face. Her eyes were closed and she bit her lower lip a little and let out a slight moan. Her breathing was heavy and just got heavier. He was sure she'd just made it again.

John watched as her skin moistened slightly. She'd begun to perspire some as she heated up from the exertion.

He could see her breathing was labored.

Claire was at the edge again. She wanted everything. She wanted it all.

"Let me have it." Claire gasped. "I want it now."

John was almost there anyway. It put him over the top. They finished together.

Claire all but collapsed down on top of him gently. She was firmly pressed against him. She managed to turn her head and open her eyes. She looked at John and kissed him soft, slow and deep.

She wanted to make her desires known.

"I'm - moving - in…." Claire said with labored speech.

She rested her head next to his as her arms slid under him and pulled them even closer together.

John was sure at this point he needed a bigger room. All of the girls wanted to move in with him. The Metal girls all wanted more as well. He really should have listened to Cameron a long time ago when she'd first indicated what was 'available' to him. He was pretty sure 'Rosie' was retired forever at this point.

The Terminator went back to the gate over the siding which entered the compound. He closed it and bent the metal to secure it. He headed back towards his SUV along the railroad tracks.

He wasn't exactly sure where CamNet was going to take the boxcars. There was only so much she could do with them without someone else being there to assist. She could only control most of the mainline switches. The majority of sidings were still manually thrown. Even if she could get onto a siding, someone needed to manually throw the coupler lever to disconnect it. They were going to need at least three big rigs to unload everything from the two boxcars.

His previous encounter with the two men made him wonder who else might be up now since the locomotives passed by a few minutes ago. Before the drones departed the area, they didn't indicate any other movement around the building. The two men he'd encountered came out of their hovel after the drones left. They must have heard the noise of the two boxcars being pushed out of the building by him.

The Terminator spotted some movement about a quarter of a mile away from where his SUV was parked. It was on the other side of the tracks before the intersection. He picked up one heat signature moving around.

When he was within a hundred feet of the contact, he saw there was a small fire started. He was almost directly across from the figure before he was noticed.

The figure looked at him in the darkness.

"We're cool, man." The figure said. "I'm just trying to warm up a little."

The Terminator stayed on one side of the tracks.

The figure stayed on the other side.

The Terminator didn't want to provoke an incident. So far the figure hadn't done anything threatening towards him.

"I'm just passing through." The Terminator said. "We each have a side, let's keep it that way."

The Terminator was soon past the figure who'd started the fire. They'd remained where they were at. They hadn't made an attempt to follow him. He was sure if there would have been more than one of them, they would have. He understood the majority of vagrants and trespassers would end up as Scavengers.

He reached his vehicle. It appeared to be untampered with. The drone had been able to keep an eye on it until it left approximately a half hour ago. He took one more look around him before he got in. No one was spotted. He started it and drove away from the location. CamNet indicated the Resistance operation might need his assistance. Currently everything was covered.

He drove past the street which would run in front of the building he'd just visited. He looked down it and spotted a set of headlights coming from the other direction. After he crossed over the intersection he pulled over to the side. He got out of the SUV and carefully moved back to the corner to look. He could see there was a box truck near the location he'd just been. He informed CamNet of his observation.

CamNet directed the Terminator to re-approach the location on foot from the street. She informed him there were more drones on the way. None could currently be spared to assist him for some time.

The security chief watched as the rocket went wild. It impacted near where the water manifolds were at. He could hear a hissing sound. He wasn't sure exactly what it was. What it did do was have the HK Track turn around and approach his position.

He could see what he believed were two Terminators take cover as well. It made him wonder exactly what was going on. Was there more than one operation in progress?

He attempted to reload the launcher with his last rocket. He couldn't get it to fit in. He could see the metal was bent on the launcher. It appeared to have taken a shrapnel hit from whatever impacted the ground where he was earlier. It was useless to him now. He carefully laid it off to the side and took off. He carried his Taser in one hand and his pistol in the other.

The security chief decided to head for the roll up door on the side. It was time to get out of the building. He knew there were more than likely HK drones out there waiting to track him. For whatever reason, the HK Track was headed towards the door on the side. It's forced him to move towards where the burning part of the building was.

He hid behind an overturned metal table which was up against another one. He wanted to make a break for it. All the action was happening between him and the roll up door. He was sure the two Terminators were able to intercept and capture the damaged HK Track. If it wasn't on their team to begin with, it was now. There was only one direction he could go.

He could see there was a gap where the flames were burning on each side. He decided to make a break for the opening. He could hear some electrical noise from where the spatial portal was at. He didn't think the Terminators or the HK Track would be able to follow him. He wasn't sure. He saw what happened to the HK Track which was no longer there.

There was a bright flash of light and an electrical discharge noise from the spatial portal. He could see the rectangle was lit by flames all around it. There was no wall there any longer. There was nothing there at all but the dark rectangle. Flames burned around it as well as in back of it. The flames couldn't be spotted through the portal. He really wondered where it led.

The security chief hoped he could make it past the spatial portal. He hoped the HK Track and two Terminators wouldn't be able to follow him. Maybe he shouldn't have hidden for so long. He didn't really have a choice. There hadn't been an opening through the flames before.

The female Fanatic and Jill moved through the trench. They used the lights on the captured phones to see. After the explosion there was a 'hissing' sound. It was followed by a 'gushing' sound. They were surprised at what happened next.

In just a few seconds the girls both noticed something. There was water around their feet.

"What's happening?" Jill asked. "Is this water or some kind of chemical?"

The female Fanatic didn't detect any strange odors.

"I think it's water." The female Fanatic said. "We need to hurry."

Jill was ready to put the building behind them. It seemed to be there was smoke inside of the trench now as well.

"Is this thing going to fill up?" Jill asked.

The female Fanatic was pretty sure the trench wouldn't be as big as it was unless it needed to be. It meant it could hold quite a bit of liquid at one time.

"I think it depends upon how bad the water pipes were damaged." The female Fanatic said. "It looks like the trench is starting to get smaller. Watch your head. We need to hurry."

The water was now ankle deep in the smoke filled trench as the female Fanatic and Jill hurried get away from the building.

Lena finished up with the HK Track as she saw Tina approach with the rocket launcher.

"I don't know how much we can trust this thing." Lena said. "The HK Track sustained a lot of damage."

Tina held up the RPG.

"I think we can trust it within the range of this thing." Tina said. "The tube was damaged. I fixed it."

Lena gave the HK Track a series of voice commands. It immediately started towards the spatial portal. It maneuvered around a few obstacles.

"It looks like it's headed to where we wanted to go." Lena said. "I believe the power cell is already damaged. I don't think it will take much to rupture it."

The fire spread across the roof of the structure. There were some more flammable materials behind them. They caught on fire. There was now fire on three sides of them.

"I think we need to get out of this building." Tina said.

The two female Terminators would like to have received a drone report as to what was going on outside. So far they hadn't spotted anyone else moving for a few minutes. They didn't know what happened to the Gray who previously used the RPG.

Lena took one more look at the HK Track. It avoided a few more obstacles and continued towards the spatial portal. There was another discharge of energy from where it was located.

"As long as it gets close enough to the spatial portal, I think we can detonate it with the RPG." Lena said.

The two female Terminators went back outside from the way they'd entered. Some burning debris fell behind them as they exited the building. It appeared the exit they'd just used was now blocked. It was a close one.

They made their way along the side of the burning building towards the area where the spatial portal was at. They kept plenty of distance between them and it. They watch the HK Track continue its journey towards it. It seemed to be moving much slower now.

Lena and Tina were soon on the other side of the area where the spatial portal was at. All they could see were flames and the HK Track approaching it. They could see a man running as well.

Cameron crossed over Palo Sola Truck Road to the east of LA-88C. She decided it would be safest to approach the Fire Control Center from the north side. It was the side least likely for anyone to come from.

She possessed an advantage of having been to all of these areas in the future on multiple occasions. Everything was different now than it was then. The locations and foundations were still in the same places, even if the buildings were different or gone.

The road went around all sides of the base. She would need to cross it to reach the perimeter fence. It might be somewhat problematic. There was a certain amount of open ground she would need to cover.

She looked behind her to the northeast. The area was currently known as Newhall and Saugus. There would later be other names added like Valencia, Canyon Country and Stevenson Ranch. Currently none of those locations existed, even if the land was there with a different name. Land developers continuously dreamed up new names to try to increase the property value of the land which remained in the same place it was before the name change.

Cameron turned around and moved closer to the Fire Control Center. She could see the manned guard booth at the main gate. She didn't plan to use the main gate. More than likely if anyone was on Palo Sola Truck Road, they would have been notified by LA-88L, the launch site.

She looked for a roving patrol or any guard dogs. None were spotted. She used her voice modulation to admit a very high frequency sound to see if she could get a dog to bark. What she heard instead sounded like a coyote down below her to the northwest. She would use the cover of coyotes if she was picked up by a guard dog. She would replicate one of their calls and move off. She was sure the guard dog would be reprimanded and the threat would be ignored.

She took in the size of the large white radar dome. There were several smaller ones as well. The main one was very large. It reminded her of a giant golf ball. It was used to acquire the targets. The equipment in the smaller radars was used for targeting and tracking the launched missile. Based upon speed and distance, an intercept point was set up where the missile would be command detonated in the air. It wasn't designed to actually hit a target. The Ajax missile would deliver shrapnel. The Hercules missile used a nuclear detonation. She didn't think it would take very much for someone to disable the system. She believed the weak point was the Fire Control Center. Once it was blinded, the missiles would become useless.

Cameron made her way across the road and over the fence. She was inside the compound. She paused for a moment to see if there was any reaction. There wasn't. She believed since the base had been in operation for half of a decade, the security had grown and lax. It was the same on every type of sentry duty where everything was a repeat of the day before and the day before it. It turned into a daily drudge which no one really thought about, or cared.

She looked at the electrical system. There was a backup generator system. She realized if the electrical system was knocked out, along with the generators, there was no electricity. The system wouldn't be able to operate. It wouldn't even require destroying the radar equipment itself. She figured a small team could do it very easily. She actually believed a recoilless rifle could be carried up the hill, along with a few rounds. They could be fired very quickly and accurately. If someone used a Davy Crockett round, they would only need to use one. The perpetrators would be able to disperse into the oilfield to the east.

It made her wonder what the cancer rate was for the individuals who moved into the houses built on those oilfield locations years later. Many of those wells actually collected natural gas.

Cameron moved through the entire system of the Fire Control Center before she exited over the south fence and started back down the mountain. She believed it was good practice to hone her infiltration skills, even if it was in a more relaxed atmosphere. The Cold War would always remain a cold war. Skynet would make it a Hot War.

She headed down the mountain on a different tributary to Browns Canyon Creek.

Young Allison felt she stood out like a sore thumb dressed in the custodian's uniform. Everyone else around her wore a military uniform.

She knew she wanted to be anywhere else other than where she was right now. The 'clop clop clop' of the horses drew nearer. She turned to move away from the procession. She needed to get away from there before someone identified her. She considered taking off the custodian's uniform. She decided it was a bad idea. More people would probably look at her if she was naked.

She started to make her way through the crowd. Everyone tried to look ahead as she tried to go in the other direction. No one looked at her for more than a brief moment. If someone asked what she was doing, she would tell them she needed to use the restroom. She figured if anyone pushed the issue, she would tell them she ate some spicy food last night. More than likely it would give them something to think about if she didn't make it to a restroom in time. She could always say she was part of the horse cleanup detail if they asked about her outfit.

The crowd seemed to press in around her. She felt completely surrounded. She was in a tangle of people. She just wanted to get away. She wanted to get away from it all. She knew it was something Cameron talked about from time to time. She was sure it came from the 'Neural Interface' with Future Allison. Future Alison was her after all. They were the same individual.

Young Allison's eyes shot open. She sat upright in her bed. She could feel her heart pounding. She briefly wondered if this is what happened to an older person when they died in their sleep. It took her a moment to untangle herself from the sheet. Somehow it was wrapped all around her. She noticed her top was off. She didn't remember taking it off. She picked it up and slipped it back on. She needed to get out of the bed to straighten it properly. She straightened the sheets and refolded the covers at the foot of the bed.

She decided to see if Cameron was back. She didn't think so. She was sure Cameron would have been standing at her door, or next to her bed, with whatever happened in her dream. She made a quick circuit of the house. If Cameron showed up before she was back in bed, she would say she got up to use the restroom, or wanted a midnight snack. It depended upon what part of the house she would be in when Cameron entered.

Young Allison climbed back into bed. She felt she needed to release some tension. Maybe it's what she should have done when she went to bed like she normally did.

Rock Wall

When something is for real
It's not part of a cabal
To be caught up in one
Is sure to lead to a downfall

When the situation starts to slide
It's time to break protocol
When the going gets rough
It's time to play hardball

When people stand side by side
Some are tall and some are small
Everyone wants to fit it
No one wants to be the oddball

When things hit the rocks
It can quickly escalate into a brawl
Sooner rather than later
Someone will turn up AWOL

Sometimes the load carried
Gets too heavy to haul
Especially when the path forward
Turns into a rock wall

Nobody
