Chapter 1582
That's A Big One
Jim and Kyle were back at the first address now. It was the one they'd driven by earlier. They were going to watch the front while Bob and Derek went in the back. Bob and Derek were off on another mission. They would need to do it by themselves. They would go in the back now instead.
They didn't think the place would be any more active than the second place was.
"Steve and Tom will be there in twenty minutes." John Henry said.
Kyle looked at Jim. He wanted to get things taken care of.
"We can have this wrapped up by then. They can give us a ride." Kyle said.
Jim could see Kyle wanted to 'push it' a little. Then again, the last place wasn't anything dangerous. He wanted to remind Kyle of the rules.
"We will still need to use caution." Jim said. "I'm responsible for you."
Kyle could tell Jim didn't want to need to deal with Sarah if anything 'bad' happened to him. He was aware it was more than a recon. He was required to let a Terminator lead.
"I'll be right behind you." Kyle said. "I don't want you to hold back if we encounter the enemy."
They approached from the alley. They didn't expect any opposition based on the other location.
Jim moved up to the roll up door and listened. He didn't detect any sound from inside. They moved to the rear door and listened again. It was quiet. He looked back at Kyle. Kyle nodded. He pushed open the door and went inside.
Bullets began to fly almost immediately. Jim stopped Kyle from entering. He returned fire with his M9.
"Fall back…." Jim said.
They quickly withdrew.
John Henry told them to move away from the building immediately.
They moved back one structure away behind a dumpster. It was when they heard it. It sounded like 'hail'. The drone high overhead engaged the building with a gravity shot from its minigun. The projectiles fell silently at terminal velocity.
The 'metal hail' lasted for thirty seconds. The firing time would indicate about three thousand rounds had just been fired from one drone. It was a lot of projectiles to be sent. Since there was no set target, more than likely the entire building was targeted.
John Henry told them if they encountered any additional resistance, there would be a missile gravity dropped after a short burn to get it on target. They didn't want to see any reports of a 'missile fired' on the news. The explosion would be blamed on a 'gas leak'. It was their usual MO.
Jim and Kyle approached the building again. There was a lot of dust in the air above the roof of the building. There were pieces of it on the ground in back. The windows were cracked or broken from ricochets or falling debris inside. So far there was no additional shooting from inside.
Bob and Derek went after the van tailed by the unknown car.
"Who do you think is in the car?" Derek asked.
Bob didn't need to think too much about it. It was the enemy, one way or another.
"It will most likely be Fanatics or the anti-Metal faction." Bob said. "It could be other Grays from a different timeline as well."
Derek knew there were other options. They'd run afoul of other groups as well.
"It could be gang or drug related." Derek said. "These people all deal on the fringes of society."
Bob nodded. Gangs were all potential Scavengers. Those who took advantage of people now, would do more so in the future. Everything would be worse than it currently was.
"Add Scavengers to the list." Bob said. "We'll terminate them as well."
Derek knew Cameron ran a lot of 'off the books' operations against what would be future Scavengers. He was most impressed with Young Allison targeting the Syndicate and the Cartels. With CamNet as her personal super computer to back her up, it made a big difference. Their operations were disrupted throughout the world.
CamNet used traffic management to get them within visual range of the two vehicles in a few minutes time.
John Henry notified them about the 'issue' at the location Kyle and Jim were at. Jim only took a few hits to his vest before they pulled back. The 'metal hail' should have done a number on the building and the occupants. Steve and Tom would arrive there to assist them in a short time.
Derek was glad neither Jim nor Kyle was injured. He also didn't want to get target fixation.
"Watch for a tail on the tail." Derek said.
Bob checked his mirrors again.
"Affirmative…." Bob said.
Derek smiled. He thought about their current location and the direction the vehicles were headed. He quickly surmised what was about to happen.
"They're heading for a mall." Derek said. "They're going to try and lose them on foot and carjack someone else to get away."
Bob ran some calculations.
"I think you're right about it." Bob said.
It would make their job more dangerous. It would also endanger others at the mall.
CamNet's Terminator was ready to zap Ajax with his Taser. He just needed him to come a little closer to his position. He wasn't able to see exactly where he was at. He could hear him. He'd reinstalled the trip wires across the aisles. They were no longer connected to an explosive device. He figured it was something Ajax would check. He was right.
Ajax came into view. He could see he held a pistol in front of him. He stood up in back of Ajax and fired his Taser. Ajax toppled over. He quickly moved over to his position and removed his chip. Ajax was terminated.
CamNet was able to follow his progress through one of the security cameras he'd installed. She wanted him to remove Ajax from the building. The explosives he rigged were set up to be command detonated. CamNet said she would take over their detonation. There were several other buildings she monitored as well.
He gathered a few items he wanted to take with him. He moved Ajax near the rear door. He placed the items he would take near it as well. He needed to retrieve his vehicle. He continuously monitored the drone images over the building. They kept watch on his vehicle as well. Everything was clear.
CamNet's Terminator exited through the rear door. He reprogrammed the electronic lock on the back door. He opened the gate along the side of the building so he could drive directly into the rear area. He didn't go back the same way he'd come. It was also the same way Ajax used. He went down the street and around the block. He checked Ajax's phone as he returned to his vehicle. He passed by the street Ajax's vehicle was parked on. He could see it sitting there. It didn't seem like a good idea to check it right now.
He went one more block down and over to where his SUV was parked. He took one look around as he approached and got in. He continued down the street in the direction the SUV was pointed. He drove down two blocks to the street the building was on. He turned on it, and then turned into the driveway along the side of the building. He parked in the back and entered the building.
Ajax was collected along with the items he decided to take with him. CamNet verified the security cameras were all working properly and the bomb he left behind was ready for detonation.
He inquired about the disposition of the two boxcars from the other building. He was a little surprised to find out they were actually still on the move. CamNet hadn't been able to get them unloaded yet. All of their personnel were currently involved with other projects.
There were two locomotives which had picked up the two box cars. He made a few calculations and was certain at least one locomotive would fit inside of the building the two boxcars were removed from. He could return to the building and uncouple one of the locomotives from the two boxcars. They could back down the siding and moved into the building. CamNet didn't want to do it yet. She might later on. It was still a Skynet related location.
CamNet's Terminator was instructed to go to the building where the six men who left the building last went. There were clearly more targets at the location and it appeared to be comprised of at least two buildings.
Young Allison and Anna were let out at the park by the hills. She needed to get some PT in. A good run would start things out for her.
There were more people around at this time of the day. Randy and Brian were already there. They were ahead of where Young Allison and Anna would run. Mel would trail behind them.
There was less drama to the run than anticipated. No one paid them any special attention as they ran. They passed several other runners.
Young Allison thought it would be nice if it was the same way all of the time.
"This is how it should be for everyone." Young Allison said.
Anna thought it was most of the time. There were only a few bad apples who caused trouble or created crimes from time to time. She wanted to give Young Allison a few choices.
"Do you want to run to the pool?" Anna asked.
Young Allison was a little warmer than usual because it was later in the day.
"I'd like to go there." Young Allison said.
They continued through the park and went out the back way.
Anna wanted to give Young Allison a reminder about the rest of the team.
"What do you want to do about the vehicles?" Anna asked.
Young Allison didn't want to make extra work for anyone. She felt everything was under control for now.
"Mel can stay with us." Young Allison said. "Brian and Randy can get the two SUVs."
CamNet changed the recommendation. Brian would get one SUV and head for the pool. Randy would stay in front of the girls. They could retrieve the other SUV later on, or acquire another one.
Young Allison and Anna soon closed up on another runner. It was a female. She was in her late teens or early twenties. Sometimes it was hard to tell. She slowed as they passed. They saw her drink the last of her water. She looked a little wobbly. Something didn't look right.
Young Allison stopped and so did Anna. The female didn't look well.
"Are you alright?" Young Allison asked.
The female looked tired and was sweaty. She looked a little confused.
"I think so." The female said. "I'm a little tired and thirsty. It must be warmer than I thought."
Young Allison wanted to help. She reached in her backpack. She always carried a little extra water. She knew the protection Detail did as well.
"I have some water." Young Allison said. "Drink some now. I have an extra bottle too for you later on."
The female drank about half of the first bottle of water.
"I'm parched." The female said.
Randy was aware the girls stopped. He made his way back. He stayed out of sight. Mel closed up as well. He remained out of view.
Anna wanted to check the female out a little further. She thought of a good excuse.
"Your top is bunched." Anna said.
Anna reached back to fix it. She made a quick scan of the female.
"Thanks." The female said.
Young Allison didn't like the dynamic of how things were right now. She wasn't sure the female was going to be OK.
"How far are you going?" Young Allison asked.
The female looked around.
"I was just going once around the park." The female said.
Anna and Young Allison looked at each other. They weren't in the park any longer.
"You're two miles outside of the park." Anna said.
The female looked lost as she looked around.
"I am?" The female asked.
The female looked a little bit redder than she did earlier.
Anna thought they needed to take some proactive action.
"You need to get into the shade." Anna said.
The female looked confused.
"OK." The female said.
Anna was a little concerned. Her scan revealed some disturbing facts. They were relevant to what was occurring now. She leaned over towards Young Allison.
"She's been drugged, or is on drugs." Anna whispered.
Randy and Mel picked up on the transmission by Anna. They were extra alert.
Mel detected two people moving behind him. He moved back into the brush some to observe them. It was two teenage males. They looked at something as they jogged. They slowed and stopped.
"She must have stopped." The first male said. "There's no indication she's still moving."
"I can't believe she made it this far." The second male said.
"Normally we can get them right in the park." The first male said.
"I'm not used to running." The second male said.
"It's from way too many cheeseburgers, mister." The first male said.
"Yeah, whatever…." The second male said.
"The pay off will be worth it." The first male said.
Both of the males laughed. It sounded very sinister.
"She was hot." The second male said.
Mel thought they must have a tracking device on the female. They must have drugged her drinking water.
"She hasn't moved much." The first male said.
"Maybe she's out." The second male said.
"I'm going first this time." The first male said.
"Just make sure you don't leave a mess." The second male said.
"I think you need to tell yourself the same thing." The first male said.
"It just makes things a little smoother." The second male said.
They looked at a phone.
"I think she's down." The first male said.
The two men took out ski masks and put them on.
Mel was sure they were going to have a problem. He wanted to alert Young Allison and Anna.
Young Allison and Anna moved the female under a tree. Anna actually carried her half of the way there.
"She's almost blacked out." Anna said.
They received a transmission from Mel.
Young Allison quickly understood what was in play. It wasn't anything good. It was now evident whatever was wrong with the female, was intentional. It was an attack.
"We know who drugged her." Young Allison said.
Anna didn't want things to escalate. She was sure after the earlier incident by the homeless camp, and events related to what occurred in the park, Young Allison was going to ramp things up. She didn't believe it would be just a little bit either. She wanted to throw an alternate solution out there now.
"Mel can take them down." Anna said. "He should only bust them up."
Young Allison wasn't about to let anyone off of the hook easily. She wanted to make a point.
"I want to take them down." Young Allison said.
Anna knew things could go bad fast. She needed to remind Young Allison it was outside the scope of their involvement with the Resistance.
"I don't think so." Anna said. "This isn't matter for our concern."
Young Allison had enough. She understood Anna's concerns. She wanted to make a point. She wanted to show Anna how she viewed it. She believed it was all a matter of perspective. It didn't change what the problem was, or the crime about to occur.
"Then I'm going to lay there on the ground. They can do what they want to ME." Young Allison said. "You can watch. That's if it really doesn't matter."
CamNet didn't want Young Allison to do it. She told Mel to move away from the men. The drone over them was instructed to take a gravity shot from altitude. The men were about to be terminated.
Young Allison heard the warning. She was pleased CamNet chose to back her play without her needing to ask. While the result would be satisfying, justice hadn't been served yet.
"No." Young Allison said. "They need to be punished for their past actions as well."
Anna knew what Young Allison was going to do to them.
"It's not the right thing to do." Anna said.
Young Allison touched her knife. She wanted to make known what the punishment would be.
"I think it is." Young Allison said. "You know it's going to happen anyway."
Randy returned back down the trail from in front of them.
"I will deal with them." Randy said. "You don't need to do anything yourself."
Young Allison could see it was getting out of hand. She wanted to make a point. It was going to be at the female's expense. She wanted to make herself clear.
"Leave the girl and let's go then." Young Allison said. "It's an order. Everyone move out."
Randy and Anna looked at Young Allison.
Young Allison wanted to give them all something to think about.
"You heard me." Young Allison said. "Who cares what happens to her. It doesn't matter. Big deal if her life is ruined. It doesn't matter if it's forever. She's no one."
Young Allison walked away from the groggy girl.
Randy and Anna did too.
They moved off into the brush and watched.
The two men arrived. We were both unrecognizable with ski masks on. They took a quick look around. They began to fondle the girl. They looked around one more time. They drug her off into the brush off of the trail.
Randy felt he needed to say something.
"Allison, you can't allow this." Randy said.
Anna knew it was her fault for 'stopping' Young Allison.
"Don't do this." Anna said.
Young Allison shrugged.
"It will be a lesson to all who don't listen to me." Young Allison said. "Let's go. It doesn't matter. I want CamNet to make sure there's a drone image of what's done to her. It will be something all of you will review once an hour, every day, from now on."
CamNet knew she needed to act. She contacted Summer. She didn't want to bother Savannah on her vacation. She believed Summer was the only person Young Allison would listen to right now.
Summer contacted Young Allison immediately. She decided she would take action herself. She would give Young Allison one chance to rectify the situation.
"Allison, I'm watching this right now." Summer said. "Stop it or I will. You made your point. I won't allow this."
Young Allison didn't want Summer to see what happened.
She looked at Brian and Anna. It was time to take care of business, once and for all.
"Go fix it, right now." Young Allison said. "Mel, assist them."
Anna and Randy ran off.
Young Allison smiled. She took out her phone and looked at the drone image. The men were about to remove the girl's pants. It didn't go any further than she'd wanted it to. She knew Summer or Savannah would contact her. There needed to be justice. By the men's own admission, they did the same thing before.
Payback was a bitch.
Summer worked with Jan on her school work. She listened to everything on her com CamNet sent her.
She needed to get involved with the situation in the park with Young Allison.
She was the one who directed the 'metal hail' attack once Jim and Kyle were clear.
Summer corrected several answers from Jan as she looked at her phone.
She sent CamNet new information.
Multitasking was never an issue for her.
She actually thrived on it.
John made sure the room was straightened up some. There was a soft knock on the door. He opened it. It looked like Claire was back. He was fine with her as well.
"Precious is with Riley." Samantha said. "I have some free time."
John quickly realized it was Samantha. It's what Cam and Gail told him would happen. He liked when opportunity knocked. In this situation, it was quite literally.
"I do too." John said. "Would you like to come in for a while?"
Samantha smiled. She wanted to make her intentions clear.
"Yes." Samantha said. "It's what I want."
John could see her pause. He knew what she wanted. It was what he wanted as well. There was no reason everyone couldn't have what they wanted.
He went out into the hall and scooped her up. He didn't even bother to look around. He didn't think it really mattered at this point. The only females he hadn't been with at the base were Riley and his mother. He shook his head. Why did he think about them? They were both off limits. At this point in time, he figured anything goes.
Samantha looked thrilled when John picked her up. It pleased her very much. It made her feel special.
Once they cleared the door, Samantha pushed it closed.
She didn't want to be too heavy for John. She wanted him to save his strength for something else. It was the reason why she was there.
"I can walk to the bedroom." Samantha whispered in his ear.
John decided to tough it out. It wasn't a big deal. It was something he'd done numerous times.
"It's fine." John said.
He carried her into the bedroom and set her on her feet next to the bed. He didn't want anyone there who didn't want to be there on their own. He wanted to ask, even if it didn't seem like he needed to. He decided to keep it simple.
"Are you sure?" John asked.
Samantha leaned forward and kissed him.
"I don't plan to leave here a virgin." Samantha said. "I've never done this before."
John was thrilled to hear it. He'd already busted her chassis with Cameron in control of it. This would still be Samantha's program's 'first time'.
They quickly stripped each other.
John liked what he saw.
"I really love your jewelry." John said.
Samantha only did it because Claire wanted to see how she would look. She decided to keep them now for good since they pleased John. By the way he looked at, and touched them, she could see she was a 'hit'.
"Thank you." Samantha said. "You're very handsome."
They kissed and fondled each other. John picked her up and placed her on the bed.
There was a serious look on Samantha's face now as John climbed in next to her.
John smiled. Things were going to be good.
Young Jesse followed the heading CamNet provided. They were going to overfly Area 51.
"We're cleared to remain at this altitude or drop lower." Hanna-Camille said.
Young Jesse stopped gaining altitude. She wanted to take a closer look herself.
Laura hoped to see everything better.
"Are we really going to fly over Area 51?" Laura asked.
Ally monitored the transmissions. There was another area of interest they would pass over.
"Yes." Ally said. "We're going to fly over the Nevada National Security Site as well."
Laura didn't know what it was. It sounded important. She didn't think she was the only one who wanted to see everything. She was still in the cockpit area.
"I think Mary would like to see these things as well." Laura said.
Ally knew Mary and Cammy were heavily involved right now in the Executive Suite. She could tell Laura wanted to remain where she currently was at.
"I can get her." Ally said.
Laura smiled and gave Ally's leg a squeeze.
"Thank you." Laura said. "I don't want to miss anything."
Ally took one look out the cockpit windows and hurried back. They would be there in a very short time.
She could hear a lot of activity In the two rooms. She waited for Mary to make it. She then knocked and entered.
"We are going to directly over fly Area 51 soon." Ally said. "Laura thought you might want to see it."
Mary's head rolled over in Ally's direction.
"It sounds cool." Mary said. "I've always heard about it. I wasn't even sure where it was at."
She tried to get up but collapsed back on the bed.
Ally decided to help her out.
"I'll carry you." Ally said.
Cammy didn't want anyone to take cuts on her. She quickly scooped Mary up in her arms. She wanted to make sure Ally understood her situation.
"She belongs to me." Cammy said.
Mary heard what Cammy said. She was now in her arms. Cammy carried her like she was weightless. She wondered if she was now the 'property' of one of the 'special girls'. It sounded like it. Maybe this would be like what Leticia did. She didn't think she wanted to remain naked outside of the suite.
"Grab me a robe." Mary said as they passed Ally.
Ally looked around and grabbed two of them. Cammy was naked as well. She followed Cammy and Mary forward.
Tricia, Leticia, and Sheila were all having a blast.
It was hard to say who liked Tricia more. Leticia was thrilled with 'herself'.
Tricia mentioned she brought along some jewelry.
The prospect of it excited Leticia.
"Can I make the piercings?" Leticia asked. "I mean at least one? Sheila can do the other one."
Sheila was glad Leticia would allow her to do one. She went first and gave instructions to Leticia.
Leticia was excited to make the piercing. She followed Sheila's instructions. She noticed Tricia winced a little bit but didn't make any noise or say anything. It was proof to her the 'special girls' could feel pain as well as pleasure. There was no doubt in her mind Tricia was a 'special girl'. How else could she exist?
Everything was installed in no time.
"We are identical in every way now." Tricia said as she looked in the mirror with Leticia next to her.
Tricia handed a tether to Sheila.
Leticia looked at it. She could see it was some type of connector.
"Can you be 'me' with it?" Leticia asked. "You know what I mean."
Sheila pulled the thin sheath covering off of her neck port.
Leticia watched as she did. She could see a little bit of blood but it quickly stopped.
"Did it hurt?" Leticia asked.
Sheila handed Leticia the cable.
"It only hurts if I want it to." Sheila said. "It did sting a little."
Leticia looked at the port. She could tell she was supposed to plug the cable in there. She was a little hesitant. She didn't want to mess anything up or hurt either of the two 'special girls'.
"I won't wreck anything will I?" Leticia asked.
Sheila smiled. She was ready for a chassis 'upgrade'.
"No." Sheila said. "I want to be 'you'."
Leticia made the connection. Tricia did the same thing. She connected the tether. She moved around to the front and saw both of their eyes were closed. They both opened at the same time.
"Hello, love." Tricia-Sheila said in Sheila's voice.
Leticia looked very excited.
"You're me." Leticia said. "You're ME."
Sheila-Tricia stood and watched as Leticia and Tricia-Sheila shared for the first time. She also checked out her 'new' chassis. She actually really liked it.
It soon evolved into a three way.
Jameron-Cameron removed Savannah's underwear.
Savannah removed Jameron-Cameron's underwear.
"Oh my, that's a big one." Savannah said.
It was 'hard' to say who was more excited at this point….
Jameron-Cameron was aware there were some options available to him as far as performance and response was concerned. He would run those by Savannah at some point.
They were side by side on the bed now as they kissed and touched each other.
Savannah reached down and held 'something'. She wanted to verify what she believed she looked at and held.
"Is this the same?" Savannah asked.
Jameron-Cameron was aware it was just like John's.
"Yes. It's like the real thing." Jameron-Cameron said. "It's exactly like the real thing. This is the real thing, Savannah. It's the real thing and it's me."
Savannah worked her way down Jameron-Cameron's sheath. She looked back up at Jameron's face and then started in.
"I can suppress anything extra." Jameron-Cameron said.
Savannah wondered what anything extra actually was.
"Is it organic?" Savannah asked as she paused.
Cameron was aware it was part of what was necessary for a male Terminator to emulate a human male. She was involved in the take down of a Terminator they'd uncovered before who assumed the position of a human male. His wife never figured out he was a replacement. She did think something was wrong with him. She thought it was because of an accident. She died believing he was her husband, even as he terminated her.
"Yes." Jameron-Cameron said. "It isn't harmful to you."
Savannah smiled.
"I want the full human experience then." Savannah said. "I'm not sure if I'll do everything. I'm not sure what it's going to be like."
Once she started back in on Jameron-Cameron, it happened a little sooner than she expected.
Savannah paused for a moment. She wiped her mouth off with the back of her hand and then smiled.
"That was fast." Savannah said.
Jameron-Cameron was a little embarrassed.
"I'm so excited." Jameron-Cameron said. "It was the first time I've actually experienced what was done, as a male I mean."
Savannah thought Jameron-Cameron looked pleased.
She wondered if it was like the real thing as she wiped the back of her hand across her mouth a second time.
"Is it the same?" Savannah asked.
Jameron-Cameron knew it was. Since she was to emulate a human response, she was spent for now.
"Yes." Jameron-Cameron said. "It's the same. Let me work on you for a while. I need some refractory time if I want to keep the human response."
Savannah rolled over on her back on the bed.
"Take all the time you need." Savannah said. "This is the part I like and it won't hurt. I'm a little worried about later."
Jameron-Cameron smiled and started in on Savannah and then paused.
"It will allow me to last longer now by doing this procedure first." Jameron-Cameron said.
Savannah closed her eyes as Jameron-Cameron started back in.
"It's what I want." Savannah said as her head and neck rolled to the side.
Savannah was glad at this point she'd already had two children. She really hoped it would make the next phase a little smoother. There was still going to be some stretching involved. She'd read plenty in Cosmo about it. It did cause some anticipation. It was time to stop worrying about it and do it.
The female Fanatic and Jill would decide what their next move would be when they woke up. They both needed to get some sleep. It wouldn't be very long, but at least it should be somewhat restful. They'd been pushing things pretty hard the last few days. They needed to worry about someone attempting to abduct them later on. They both slept with a Beretta under their pillow.
Lena and Tina continued their loose pursuit of the black SUV. They monitored the surveillance camera of the white van as well.
They watched the black SUV check for a tail and then pull over to the curb. They waited for the occupants to get out. They didn't.
"I wonder what they're waiting for." Lena said.
Tina considered several possibilities.
"They're probably waiting for someone to come and check the vehicle and see why no one got out of it." Tina said.
Lena quickly checked with CamNet to see if the vehicle was capable of self driving. CamNet responded there was no indication, or any type of signal, she could detect associated with it.
"It appears they're just waiting." Lena said.
Tina was aware it was one big problem.
"We don't know if the two men from the white van are still in it." Tina said. "The longer the black SUV sits there, the more time they have to get away if they already switched to a different vehicle."
CamNet was displeased with the inactivity. She knew it would be a risk to have either one of the female Terminators approach it. It may be exactly what someone wanted to happen. The drone scans of the area didn't reveal an ambush already in place which was detectable from the air.
It appeared the homeless man left the area from his hovel under the bridge. More than likely with five hundred dollars in his pocket, there were probably a few other things he wanted to do. He was already two blocks away from the location. He currently pushed a shopping cart loaded with various items and articles of clothing. It didn't appear he would return to the location he left from. It seemed like a wise choice.
CamNet resorted to a method which was used before. It was something the Resistance frowned on doing. Since her operation was being conducted outside the scope of the Resistance, she was willing to push things a little further to make things happen. A few things were set in motion and were about to happen at two locations.
Lena and Tina were instructed to remain several blocks away from the black SUV. They watched the drone footage over it and around it.
"What exactly are we waiting for?" Lena asked.
Tina looked around them and back at her phone. The drone image showed some activity.
"I have a feeling it's those two cars approaching slowly on the other side of the street." Tina said.
Lena quickly spotted them. The drone image zoomed in on the occupants.
"They look like gang members." Lena said.
CamNet informed them she was going to shake things up a little bit. The two gang vehicles which just arrived, along with the black SUV were each about to receive one round of 'metal hail'.
They also spotted another gang vehicle arrive where the white van was parked. Two gang members exited the car and approached the white van. They looked inside the windows. They could see the keys were in the ignition. The two gang members got in and started the van. They followed the other gang car out from under the bridge.
CamNet informed them there was some 'metal hail' was on the way. They didn't spot the actual impacts. They didn't know what part of the vehicles were targeted. They figured on the two gang vehicles it would be the passenger compartment. They thought on the black SUV, it would probably be a fender or at the rear of the vehicle. It just needed to be enough to spark a reaction.
Both of the gang vehicles stopped when the impacts occurred. They were directly across from the black SUV. The black SUV quickly pulled away from the curb. It made a U-turn right in front of the two gang vehicles. It appeared it was headed back towards the freeway underpass where the white van was parked.
The black SUV approached the street with the freeway underpass. They were able to observe the white van pass in front of them. They were in the left turn lane. They made a right hand turn to follow it. They cut across two lanes of traffic. The two gang vehicles were directly behind them.
CamNet hadn't cut all of the phone service between the three gang vehicles and the white van they'd currently commandeered. Their phones didn't work to speak, they did work to receive text messages. They begin to receive messages in each of the vehicles.
"It looks like we get to set this one out for now." Lena said.
Tina didn't think it was a bad thing based upon the group involved.
"I think it's safe to say, 'better them than us'." Tina said.
Lena and Tina followed several blocks behind the procession in front of them. They were informed what CamNet did to motivate them to act. It all began to unfold.

Young Allison looked at the Falcon and the Galaxie. Did she want to drive a car with a 260, or a 427?
"I think we can give the Galaxie Lightweight a workout." Young Allison said.
Cameron smiled. She was pleased with the choice.
"The Galaxie it is." Cameron said. "Do you want to drive?"
Young Allison did want to drive. She believed it would be better to let Cameron drive first so she could see how the vehicle handled and what its performance levels were. She didn't want to do anything to damage it.
"I'll let you drive first." Young Allison said. "I'll lock up the garage and open the gates."
Cameron decided she would try to use responsible driving habits to set a good example for Young Allison. She didn't know how long she'd be able to adhere to them.
"It will be best if I let it warm up for a minute." Cameron said. "I'll move it out of the garage so you can close it up while it continues to warm up."
Cameron opened the door and climbed behind the wheel. She reached up and dropped the sun visor down slightly to get the keys which were setting on top of it. She put them in the ignition. She depressed the clutch and put the transmission into neutral. She pulled out the choke, pumped the gas twice, and turned the key.
The big FE immediately turned over and started. There was a low rumble which emitted from the exhaust pipes.
Young Allison was thrilled to hear the low rumble. She knew under acceleration, it would be a thunderous roar. She watched Cameron sit in the garage for approximately a minute. She took the opportunity to open both of the gates. She watched as Cameron put it in first gear and slowly moved it out of the garage. She swung the doors closed and locked them up.
Cameron pushed in the choke a little more. The choke controlled the air-fuel mixture. She didn't want to keep the fuel mixture too rich. She moved on out through the two gates onto the small street. She looked in the rear view mirror as Young Allison closed and locked both of the gates.
Young Allison finished up with the last gate and ran towards the car. She opened the door and climbed into the passenger seat. She buckled the safety belt. It only consisted of a lap belt. There were no shoulder harnesses in the car. It would be a few more years before they became standard equipment. It would be even longer until it became mandatory for the occupants of the vehicle to wear their safety belts. For some reason, it took many years to get people to comply with the simple safety feature.
Cameron looked over at Young Allison.
"It looks like we're ready to roll." Cameron said.
Cameron let out the clutch slowly and they started down the street. She pushed the choke all of the way in as they moved along. The car was sufficiently warmed up so it would operate on the standard air-fuel mixture.
Young Allison looked around the interior of the car. She could see it had all of the creature comforts.
"So let me get this straight." Young Allison said. "Cammy and Sheila obtained this vehicle in its full race mode. They went to the trouble to install better seats so they'd be more comfortable for me. They also put a heater in as well as a radio. Those items were specifically omitted from this vehicle from the factory, to make it lighter along with the aluminum and fiberglass parts it's equipped with."
Cameron was pleased with the modifications.
"They also removed all of the indications as to the size of the engine and the fact it was the extra light, or 'Lightweight' model." Cameron said.
Young Allison understood the implications.
"In other words it's a 'Sleeper'." Young Allison said.
Cameron was pleased with the stock appearance of the vehicle.
"Anyone who looks at it will think it's the standard model, and at best it probably has a 352 in it." Cameron said. "The 352, like the 260, were both underpowered because they were in the early development stages of the potential of the blocks they were built on."
Cameron looked into the different high performance vehicles of the time period. She'd been a little surprised to find out the first 75 Shelby Cobra MK1 models were powered by a 260. The remaining 51 MK1 models were fitted with a 289. The MK II version was extensively modified. Most of those were equipped with a high performance 289. There were several engine variations tried from a small 221 V8, to a 390, up to 1963.
The later MK III was a total redesign of the vehicle. The vehicles intended for racing were equipped with a 427. Some of them were fitted with a 428 for street use.
The 427 was a highly tuned and machined race engine, complete with 4 bolt mains. The 428 was a little more than a stroked and bored 390. It was immensely cheaper to produce. She only needed to remember every time an automobile manufacturer could save a dollar on a million automobiles, they made a million extra dollars. She thought the nylon timing gear used on several engines later on was a poor choice to save a few bucks. It severely reduced the longevity of the engine.
The MK III Cobra wouldn't appear while they were in the past. It was still more than a year away. She was sure they would find the drawings and plans which 'appeared' on the desk of one of the engineers anonymously. The vehicle was basically redesigned from the ground up, while keeping a similar appearance to the first two models.
If they encountered a Mark 1 or Mark II Shelby Cobra on the street, all it would see would be their tail lights. On a road course, it might be a different story. The Cobra would tend to have more agility than they would with the larger Galaxie Lightweight. They would still have a significant horsepower advantage over the current Cobras.
Young Allison hoped the docile appearance of the vehicle would keep some of the 'street racers' at bay. There was always the potential for some type of accident, or an incident, with another unsuspecting driver pulling out of a driveway, or a parking lot. It would be something to keep in mind.
"I know this car is quick." Young Allison said. "What's also important other than how fast it will go, is how fast it will stop."
Cameron was pleased to see the Metal girls made sure it was equipped with four wheel disc brakes. It was very uncommon for the time period.
"The braking system is top notch." Cameron said. "It has disc brakes all around. They're also of a larger size than standard."
Cameron pulled off of their street onto Chatsworth Street. The 118 Freeway was more than a decade away. They would need to take surface streets.
That's A Big One
When something is about to bloom
Has it really actually begun
The more there seems to be
The more it seems like none
On the path to move forward
A few will jump the gun
They aren't about the long term
They're more about fun
The story they want to tell
Starts to unwind as it's spun
The cold shoulder comes soon enough
It's easy for them to shun
What some brush off lightly
Weighs on others like a ton
There's nowhere to go
Even when they try to run
What is the actual prize
When they have won
Hopefully it's more than just to hear
Oh my, that's a big one
Nobody
