It was about a weak since his encounter with Wilson Fisk, The Kingpin. Spider-Man had taken a back seat for now as things had calmed down in the city ever since the attack pretreated by Hydra.

Peter was trying to be a better friend and nephew. This included Liz as he still was hoping to get closer with her. Life just seemed to be looking up as of late.

Another school day had ended, and Peter thought of trying something different.

"Hey, Liz." He said, coming to as she was at her locker.

"Hey, Parker."

"So, I was wondering if we could hang out sometime. Outside of school."

"Sure, you're a nice guy. Mucher kinder than the rest of the guys I've met at school. What were you thinking?"

"We could exchange phone numbers to start."

"Alright."

They gave each other their phone numbers.

"So what now," Peter asked with his voice lowing further.

"I don't know, I have to go." Before she left to go home, she turned back around. "Actually, I have a question about my brother. Rather, advice. I think he might do something dangerous. I want to make sure he's safe, no matter what. I think I'm going to follow him if I have to. If he does not listen to my last pleads against his mistakes."

"You shouldn't put yourself in danger. You could get hurt, and that wouldn't help either. Just be supportive. Maybe that's all you can do."

"Yeah," she replied softly and went home.

Peter sighed, not sure of if he did something wrong, so he decided to talk with Gwen. Hoping she might have some wisdom of what he should do. He suited up, preparing to swing home and talk with her on the way.

"Hey, Gwen. I was wondering if you could help me with some Liz trouble."

"Why is it you always call me to talk about girl problems. Don't you have anything else in life we could discuss like science-related? Harry never gives a crap about that. Hurts his head, he claims."

"Well, I just got Harry and you, of course. He's not the prime example of you know."

"Yeah, I know. Don't you have Mary Jane to talk to?"

"She does not have a boyfriend. You do."

"Just do what you think is best. I'll work out with her if you be yourself. I don't know why I have to tell you this!"

Peter's spider-sense began frecking out. "I gotta go, thanks, Gwen." He said quickly hanging up the phone to get lunch at by a green figure.

Peter moved out of the way and landed on a rooftop.

Jeez. Again with the colour green!

The green figure came to the roof and said nothing as it charged at Peter.

"Hey! Wait a second. Let's talk about why you are here and who you are."

It still said nothing attempting to hit Peter now with its tail that appeared out of its body.

"A tail. That's different." Peter said, getting behind the figure as it swung its tail at him and kicking it, knocking it back, having caught it off guard.

"Don't make this difficult!" It finally said.

"What is this?" Peter replied.

"You've caused enough trouble for the city. I'm saving it."

"What trouble? Wait, have I seen you before? I'd come to me if you wouldn't wearing, whatever that is."

"You murdered my friend!"

"You're a police officer. That wasn't my doing! Why don't you look for the real killer! You should know that it's-"

Gargon jumped at Spider-Man, not wanting to hear what he already knew any longer.

Peter stayed defensive, not wanting to fight a cop. He wasn't sure if this was a police sanctioned confrontation. Or if he's gone rogue with a super-suit. Either way, this was'net good.

Peter realized he was only after him, so there was no reason to fight with him. So he attempted to escape.

Gargon chased after him. They moved at around the same speed, but Peter was slightly faster, which gave him the edge in this case.

He managed to slip away while Gargon looked for him, getting more inraged by the second.

Peter changed out of costume and went home after making sure Gargon wouldn't do anything drastic with all the people walking down the streets. He thought this as what perfectly fine person would wear a Scorpion costume to attack someone in the middle of rush hour.

Gargon returned to his creators, annoyed with his failure. They shared his feelings. Most of all, Jameson, who was ferous with his investment going to waste.

Gargon was not listening to his words. All he could perceive was the yelling, only fueling his rage that had boiling ever since the procedure.

"Perhaps we should claim down Mr. Jameson. We really shouldn't be rude to a real hero of this city." Fisk said, trying to get on Gargon's right side.

"A real hero would've taken down this menace! Giving you this opportunity was a massive risk! I'm sure you're an exceptional officer, but perhaps you weren't cut out for the big leagues."

"Wait! I'll prove my worth! I'll do whatever it takes to bring him down. One last chance to prove I'm the best hero this city's got."

"Fine, but you better not screw up again, or you will be replaced by someone with more experience and more careful tendencies."

Gargon nodded, hiding back his fury, leaving to search for Spider-Man once more.

As he went as his way searching the city, the angered voice of Jameson stayed in his mind. It reminded him of his father. It made him wonder, maybe the reason why was more sinister. What secrets could be hidden away?

At home, Peter had talked with May about his day and decided to ask for guidance regarding his possible relationship with Liz.

"You really think a lot about her, don't you?"

"Yeah, feels serious."

"I'm positive this feels stong for you. At this age, you feel such strong romantic feelings it can be quite overwhelming, believe me. I'm happy you came to me, Peter. I'd rather you speak with Ben, but that's not an option."

"Good thing he was here to give me the talk, huh?" Peter replied. They both gave a small smile before it went away.

"It's good that we still talk about him, you know?"

"Yeah, could we talk about Liz now?"

"Of course. What do you want to talk about?"

"I'm not sure what to do. I like her, but she just wants to be friends at most. I kinda want more."

"Maybe she'll change her mind. Or maybe it's just good to have another friend in the world. Having a friend can just be enough. You'll find the right person one day. Could be even closer then you think."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"I don't know, I'm sure you can figure it out."

"Okay. Anyway, is that all? It can't be that simple."

"I'm positive you'll know what to do about her. Your a smart young man in so many ways. I just thought you needed a reminder that being friends isn't so bad. You are with Gwen, after all."

"It feels different with Gwen. I don't know how to explain it."

"Interesting, you forgot Mary Jane, Peter." Aunt May said, smiling cheekily.

"Yeah, I know. I understood closer then I think. Not the most subtle meaning."

"You two are so lovely together!"

"I just don't want to ruin a friendship that means so much to me over something that could not work out. I do want to try with Liz."

"Trying is all you can do. I'm sure with your Parker charm, you'll do fine once you try."

"How are you doing. I've just been talking about myself."

"I'm good. I'm going to see that pleasant man once more. The third time we're going out. He's kind, I think you might like him."

"If he makes you happy, I can't be mad," Peter said warmly.

"He'd be happy to meet you. Said he has a son, much older than you."

"Your dating an older man then, huh."

"He's my age."

"No, your a lively young woman. In your 30's, right?"

"You're making me blush, Peter." She laughed.

"I know that your not, but I'll never believe otherwise then you being young."

"Thank you, Peter."

"I have to ask you. How are the bills?"

"Trying to soften me up?"

"Yeah, I know that it can't be good."

"It's fine, Peter."

"You promise?"

"I can't. This shouldn't be your concern. Your concerns should be related to school, whomever you have feelings for and just trying to figure out what you're going to do after school is finished. Money is my problem."

"I have time. I don't need to study. I'm already doing great in every subject."

"Even if you were, I wouldn't be okay with that. Not to mention the fact your grades have gone down in the last few months."

"Really, Jeez, I didn't realize that."

"I know you need to stay focused on school, okay?"

"I'm trying my hardest to do that. No promises. Love you." He said then walked upstairs as she replied with the expected response.

Peter went into his room and got to work trying to figure out what was going on with the guy dressed like a scorpion. Peter got answers faster than he thought.

He saw a press conference with Jameson and Fisk revelling Gargon to the public as some sort of solation to the hero problem in the city. That's what they were saying anyway.

Peter watched the video on his computer and read more details on multiple articles trying to get all the facts straight.

The conclusion he came to was going to the Daily Bugle to confront JJ about officer Gargon and try to put an end to it. It wasn't the best plan, but it was a plan.

Spider-Man went on his way to the Bugle. Knowing he could be out long as it would be supper in a couple hours.

(She's dating JJ's dad for comeity proposes OR maybe Doc Ock in some huge twist?)

"Why hasn't anyone given me a story or photos of officer Gargon in action!" JJ yelled into his busy newsroom.

"This is someone the public should know about!"

As he was saying, this Gargon was coming up the elevator of the Daily Bugle. Thankfully for him his tail was able to retract back into a storge part on this back or else he wouldn't have been able to fit inside. Also, likely he was able to find a trench coat that covered most of him.

His rage, lack of any support, his currently that JJ had a connection to Silvermane or Kingpin would have been enough to inform his risky undertaking. With his mind falling apart due to the experiment not working properly, this only had thrown even more gasoline into the fire.

People were not noticing him on his way up or when he exited the elevator. This increased his anger further to know how the people he was meant to protect didn't notice anything.

It took until he got near Jameson for people to start noticing him.

"Hey! Your that officer!" One employee said after looking over realizing the person they were just informed about was under their roof.

Everyone looked over and started going towards him all at once. They were all talking at him and taking pictures of him. It was nauseating. He tried keeping his cool until he walked into JJ's office.

"Gargon? What are you doing here? You should be out-"

"I know the truth!" Gargon yelled, cutting him off.

"What truth?"

"Your working with the mob! You set this up. Spider-Man was your assassin. Now you all want him gone. Who are your bosses!"

"That's insane! I hate Spider-Man, I'd never work with him and what would I be doing with mobsters! I try to bring those crooks to justice every day!"

"Lies!" Gargon's tail shot out, mistakenly hitting a wall denting it.

"I'm calling the police! You're done!"

"No!" He moved closer to JJ. "I will not let you take this away from me! I'll bring him here if I have to!" His tail continued to swing wildly.

"Stop his madness. We're on the same side."

"You'll say anything to make me believe that, so you can control me! You're just like my father! An uncaring monster who'll do whatever it takes to keep me behaving as you command! I see clearly now. Once I deal with you, Spider-Man's next on my list!" He yelled, preparing to kill Jameson with the sharp end of this tail.

"Knock knock," Peter said, crashing in through a window kicking Gargon in the face.

"Just the man I was looking for. Two criminals with one stone!"

"Think you mean tail," Peter remarked, webbing his tail, trying to pull it back at Gargon, expecting to knock him out. To his surprise, he didn't flinch getting struck with his own tail.

"Okay, something more drastic then." He charged at Gargon, knocking him out the window. They began falling to the ground. Peter attempted to stop both of them from hitting it with full force, but Gargon fought back, ending up landing on an empty car smashing it. This hurt him but didn't stop him.

Peter stopped his own fall and looked around to see if any people were present. Thankfully everyone had ran after the fall out of the window.

"Let's go, Scorpion." Peter prepared to continue to fight.

"If you want to think of me as a monster, I'll show you a monster!" He roared, moving to spray acid at Peter.

Peter avoided all the acid. He backed up to the wall and launched himself at Scorpion kicking him and punching him repeatedly. Gargon returned blows.

They continued like this for a minute until Gargon had enough. He lashed out wildly swing his fists and tail without proper focus missing Peter, but destroying everything in his path.

"Have you gotten in a fight before? Your hitting everything, but me! I thought I was terrible at this!" Peter said confidently.

Scorpion grabbed Peter's throat after he was distracted by this moment of egotism.

"You all think so little of me, huh!" He shoved Peter against the wall choking Peter still.

In a desperate at saving himself, he webbed a car door launching it at Scorpion hitting him in the head. This allowed Peter to get a reasonable distance from Scorpion to get back his bearings in the fight.

Okay, the tail's the key to stopping him. If I play it just right, I could use the tail against him. It seems to be my best bet.

Peter evaded multiple swings from Scorpion's tail, waiting for his perfect opportunity to strike. He finally got it on the 7th swing and gripped his tail with all the strength in his body, smashing Gargon into a nearby car. Peter then began spraying webbing, primarily at his tail. The tail was stuck to the vehicle, and Gargon struggled with getting it loose as the police could be heard approaching the area. Hearing them was just the motivation he needed.

His anger increased farther, realizing all his fellow officers would be coming to see the failure he was. At this point, it was like he had passed out. All that remained now with a wild animal bent on destroying everything. So, he charged at the police cars coming.

Peter chased after him webbing his tail again, holding him back as hard as he could. The ground beneath Peter was beginning to break with every passing moment as he kept pulling the tail.

"Officer Gargon! Think about what you're doing! They're your people! Fight me!" Peter said, hoping to reason with him in some way. It didn't work. All he got in return with nasty snarly.

Peter continued pulling, and to his shock, he managed to rip off the tail completely.

This natural made Gargon attack Peter for taking his tail away from him.

In his current state, Gargon was not a fighter by any means. All he did was swing his fists wildly.

Peter did not what to hurt him seeing him like this. He webbed his legs to the ground. Gargon hardly fought back against this.

That was exhausting. Peter thought starting to think about having a lovely nap on the ground. Usually, it wouldn't be so appealing, but after that the ground seemed like it'd be soft like the beds in Harry's place.

Officers approached after Spider-Man subdued Gargon.

Two of which were Caption Stacy and a female officer recognized from weeks before. He couldn't remember their name, but he was certain she knew Gargon from her demeanour looking at him tied up.

"We meet again, Spider-Man," Stacy said, coming up to Peter looking disappointed.

"This man might not have been perfect. At his heart, he was a fine officer and a good man."

"Wish I could've known him before he became this monster," Peter replied.

The woman jumped in, saying, "he's not a monster. He's sick. Cried out, and nobody listened."

"This isn't your fault. He wasn't opening up. It's not your job to improve him, Dewolff."

"I was his partner. I let this happen to him. He tried calling me before this happened. If I hadn't turned off my phone, I could've talked him out of it this. Now he's going to jail.

"Don't have the details, but yeah. I'll try to get a good word in with the judge.

"I can tell you on good authority I know who's responsible for this. Wilson Fisk. He's the Kingpin!" Peter said to Stacy

"Bastard," Dewolff muttered under her breath, walking off hearing this.

"Do you have evidence?"

"Well, no."

"Motive?"

"No."

"Did you know this was signed off by the mayor?"

"No."

"What do you know?"

"That he's guilty. He threatened me with an army of goons, and he hired that imposter to ruin my name!"

"All you have is your word which, as you just said, was dragged through the mud. So there's nothing you can do. Unless you want to be a criminal."

"I don't."

"Another thing, you should not have said that in front of her. She could go out and do something drastic without thinking going off emotions. So now I've got to make sure she does not do something she's going to regret." Stacy ran after her leaving Peter alone. Disappointed.

Wilson Fisk watched as "The Scorpion" as he was officially being called by the media, be arrested via cameras watching the aftermath.

He had mixed feelings about this. He had low expectations going into his project as it was just a test run to see what could be accomplished. He was impressed by what promise it showed and, of course, giving Spider-Man a formidable foe. Nevertheless, money was an issue. Not to mention, the police could be paying more attention now. Care would be critical in a time like this.

"Wesley, when we get back to the penthouse check on the other project. I need to discuss are options with Osborn."

"Good news, sir, Jameson is ripping into Spider-Man just as you thought he would and still no sighting of Daredevil," Wesley replied.

"That is good. Keeping those two at bay gives a lot more breathing room." He paused briefly and continued saying, It's funny how Jameson does work for us without even realizing it. I do admit, do feel some sympathy for our enemy. The man he saves blames him for everything."

This chapter is back to the main focus. I hope the previous one did not cause anyone to jump ship as it was a departer from the norm so far. As this story will be continuing for a while, more development is yet to come. I feel that this all will read better once it's finished. As it is now, somethings might be hurt by my incredibly slow turn around rate.

Anywho, We're getting close to the third quarter of the first volume. Assuming I can pull it off, things should begin ramping up soon.

Also, I wish this chapter could have surpassed in word count over the previous one. It is close.

Enough stalling, thank you for reading and bearing with my slow work. I had some life stuff going, and I was writing 1000's of words a day overall, just not relating to this, so it caused me not to feel inclined to get work done. That's all calmed down, so let's hope I get back on track as it all helped me to improve my speed of typing, which is my main issue. Also, also, etc, I stress about screwing something up so I stall to finish things. I have gotten better in that regard as well, slightly.

Have and lovely day or night. Till next time.
