Peter awoke and jumped to his feet. "Hello? How long was I out for, weeks? Months? Oh god, years!?" He exclaimed and realized he was still hurt.
"You passed out for a few minutes." Jessica replied, rolling her eyes at him.
Luke gave a slight chuckle.
"Have you seen any cranky super villains chasing after me still?" He questioned looking around, despite knowing his Spider-sense would've warned him of danger.
"You're injured pretty badly, you need to take a minute. Your bleeding is stopping, but still what happened to you?" Luke asked him.
Peter felt himself checking on how badly he was hurting. "Oh you know, I was smacked a few times, kicked, hit by some lessers, a guy made of water and thrown off a building more than once, so far today. Could've been worse right?" He replied sarcastically.
"How are you still standing and making crap jokes?" Jessica Jones asked.
"Honestly, it's my super power." Peter replied looking confident, while trying hard to not faint as his legs were hurting from, well, falling on them, off a building. He decided to sit down on the ground thinking.
Luke looked at Jessica. "We should bring him to Carter." He suggested.
She nodded in agreement. "Least he'll stop bleeding all over the place if we get her to stitch him up."
Peter raised his hand. "Could I have a say in this? There are some bad guys running around, four of them in fact. I still want to bring them down and now you're both here, could I ask for some assistance?"
"You need a doctor to look at you, or Nurse." Luke told him seriously and Peter reluctantly listened to them as he didn't feel he had much of a choice right now.
Spider-Man was brought to a woman who was called, The Night Nurse. Though apparently she didn't love it being called that, so he'd try to hold his tongue on making any jokes about it.
She checked him up while respecting the mask not coming off, though it was ripped a bit, along with other parts of the suit.
"You're not going to have to cut the suit are you? I feel like I'm going to be in my underpants soon enough at this rate." Peter exclaimed.
"Don't worry, it seems like you are healing and don't need much patching up. Though it was for the best, medically speaking it's a marciale you are even alive." The Nurse pointed out.
"Well, I've got a feeling someone's watching out for me." Peter said, referring to Uncle Ben smiling thinking of him. "And I'm too stubborn to die." He joked standing up. "Now, I believe I've got some bad guys I need to take care of."
"Are you planning on doing that alone?" Jessica Jones asked.
"Preferably not, but I will if I must. Won't let them get away with this." He said and then recalled he forgot to call Captain Stacy, slapping his head gently, still hurting a bit.
Luke crossed his arms. "They attacked our neighborhood, we're not going to let them get away with it." He told Spider-Man.
Peter nodded understanding. "Alright, I just have to make a quick phone call to a friend, I think, in the police force."
"Not to mention seriously how are you still moving and wanting to fight these guys? Are you sure you checked his head?" Jessica asked, looking at the Nurse.
"I did, however I'm not a brain specialist. The only other person I knew who got knocked around like that was Daredevil." She remarked.
Peter perked up. "Oh you meet him? Cool, we're buddies."
All three of them looked at him, arms crossed.
"Maybe a one sided friendship, you never know right?" Peter remarked and he stepped out to call captain Stacy.
"Spider-Man?" He asked immediately.
"Yeah it's me, have you gotten any reports about some commotion involving some bad guys trying to kill the city's favorite web slinger?" He replied cerious.
Captain Stacy sighed. "I heard some calls about it. Yes, I was hoping it wouldn't be the case. Why are you telling me? Is it Crime Master?"
"Yeah, it was a trap. Though I've got a location for you. And some new allies who are going to help me take down some super villains." Peter preclamed.
The three of them depeared and they followed Peter to where he started his fight.
"Do you have a plan?" Jessica asked.
"Nope." Peter replied and shrugged.
Luke stared at him. "Do you never come up with a plan?"
"Can't say never, but it's uncommon." Spidey replied.
"Fantastic news to hear and no surprise there." Jessica replied face palming and creaked her neck. "Let's try to not let this kid die."
Luke nodded in agreement.
"I'm capable of taking care of myself. I'll be watching out for you two." Peter replied with some sarcasm and overconfidence playfully. Then nearly fell over, almost forgetting he was using a lot of strength standing up still.
"I'll go scout out the area and-" He got cut off by Jessica Jones.
"Are you aware of you know," She flew a bit into the air. "That."
Peter looked surprised. "I think I forgot about that. Some reason I thought you could only do leaps in a single bound, maybe I'm thinking of someone else."
"I can fly, kid." Jessica replied and flew off around the area.
"Huh. So how are you?" Peter asked, looking at Luke Cage realizing he basically knew nothing about either of them.
"Good. Glad to meet you Spider-Man. Sometimes I forget about introductions, life can be quite wild in this life of ours. And Jessica isn't really great at introducing herself, I think it might have rubbed off on me. Just don't tell her that or I'm a dead man." He joked, probably.
Peter looked at him. "Oh that's not scary in the slightest bit, alrighty. Anywho. So your skin is bulletproof? How durable is your skin? Hope that isn't a weird question to ask, I'm just a curious person and something of a scientist myself."
"Yeah it's bulletproof, can't say I've pushed myself too hard yet. I've been blasted by weapons stronger than typical guns and hit hard. As long as the damage doesn't go internal, I should be able to take it." He explained.
"Oh cool power. I've not heard much about you before, only that you are bullet proof and sound like a swell guy." Peter replied.
"Thanks." Luke replied with a smile.
Jessica Jones returned to the ground. "Have you two become better accqantiented?"
They both nodded.
"I was being sarcastic." She replied.
"Oh well, that hurt my feelings." Spider-Man said, looking away.
Luke smirked. "Did you find anything Jess?"
"Police are on their way and a couple of colorful thugs in super suits. They are punchable looking types of people." She responded, cracking her knuckles.
"Sounds like you sound the guys alright." Peter replied.
"Even though the police are on route, it'd be best for us to take them down in case they plan on running away." Luke stated.
Jessica sighed. "I was hoping to get to the bar, sooner than later."
Luke gave her a look putting a hand on his hip.
"Fine. Let's go kick some ass." She said putting her hands up.
Spider-Man up first while Luke and Jessica snuck in.
"Look who's back for more, I thought there'd be a chance you survived." Chance said cocky as ever.
"Glad you couldn't come up with a better joke in the not an hour since I met you. Unless you're not aware you keep saying chance." Peter replied sarcastically
Tombstone peaked out of their van. "Trying to distract us I see? I heard the sirens. Hydroman and Chance kill him quickly." She closed the door again and the van started to drive away, until Jessica flew in front of it making it stop to a halt.
"You're not getting away that easily." She said,
"Who's this now what the-" Chance tried to say before being tapped on the shoulder by Luke Cage and smacked pretty hard into a wall.
Tombstone got out. "I see someone brought some friends."
"More like your lack there of any sense of silence brought us." Jessica replied sarcastically, going to punch her, only to find how hard Tombstone's skin was. Her punch probably did more harm to herself. "Luke! We're switching!" She shouted.
"Got it!" He shouted back and came up punching Tombstone making them flinch.
Jessica meanwhile presused Chance.
"Finally someone who can give me a challenge." She remarked confidently.
"Hey! I got some good hits, right?" Peter was hurt by that and proceeded to get physically hurt by Hydroman using his quips against him to attack, catching him off guard. "Can we take a time out?"
"Die! And shut it!" Hydroman shouted and tried to drain Peter, but it didn't work as Spider-Man had thought of an idea of how to beat his watery foe. Make the water start to evaporate and go down the more they attack. So he started luring them away and the chase began.
While the fighting happened, Looter stayed out of it, quite frightened by everything happening. Then the Crime Master contacted him. "What's going on? Tombstone was saying you 4 nearly killed Spider-Man and were now trying to escape, but I haven't heard anything since, what's happening?"
"I think two Avengers showed up, sir. Jessica Jones and Luke Cage? Everyone is fighting right now and Spider-Man is back." Looter replied.
"Jones and Cage are here now, the whole operation is blown. Cut Chance and Hydroman loose. Help Tombstone right now if you're able to, otherwise I can't risk losing all of my biggest players, not now. We're so close." The Crime Master said softly.
Looter hesitated. "I-I'll try my best sir."
The Crime Master hung up, as Looter continued watching the fight.
Jessica smacked around Chance who in response blasted her back.
"Ah, Jessica Jones. I'd say their is a good chance I'd get some money off killing-"
Jessica hit Chance into the ground and said something that shouldn't be repeated. Then processed to rip his suit apart. "I think there's a chance you'll not be heard from again."
Chance looked as if he had an accident and then fainted.
As she made sure he was down for the count, Luke Cage continued in a fist fight against Tombstone, both giving major blows.
They both smacked each other around, a turning point happened once Looter decided to help Tombstone, hitting Cage off guard and letting him get hit on getting knocked to the ground making a dent in it.
"We should get out of here!" Looter exclaimed, but Tombstone brushed them off.
"No. I'm going to kill Luke Cage." She replied gleefully.
However, Jessica Jones stepped up and knocked her back. "Stay away from him." She said aggravated.
Tombstone watched Cage get up and looked intimidated enough to decide to retreat with Looter for now, as some goons came up firing on them. Which Luke and Jessica wouldn't have an issue with, but would slow them down enough to let the villains escape, as the police tried to arrive, but got fired upon.
Meanwhile, Spider-Man kept up the game of keep-away with Hydroman noticing his powers were winding down as the lack of water affected him.
"Feeling a bit dehydrated?" Peter asked sarcastically.
"I feel fine you little freak!" He shouted back and blasted more water at Peter.
He easily dodged it avoiding the water as his foe became slower, unfortunately there happened to be a water tower nearby and he moved towards it to recharge.
Crap. Peter thought and kicked right through him. "Huh, weird feeling."
"You're going to get a much worse feeling!" Hydro Man yelled chasing right back after him as Spidey swung away quickly and ran across walls to escape and then did a flip over his foe evading them. Only to learn they could move their body incredibly fast backwards hitting Peter with water sending him back to the ground, but he managed to shoot a webline stopping his fall.
And kept on running avoiding anywhere that'd have more water. Peter jumped up into the air and avoided another blast, only to realize a wave was now chasing him down. "Huh, wonder if I could make a surfboard with webs?" Peter attempted it and to his complete surprise it worked. For a moment he was now surfing on a wave, in the middle of NYC. "Yeah! This is pretty awesome!" Peter exclaimed and then his spider-sense went off as he realized the water pushed him off. And the surfboard flew off to his great disappointment. "Not my board!"
"Your going to have a bigger problem then your stupid board!" Hydro Man exclaimed.
"Now that's just mean man!" Peter replied and started trying to punch the water, which seemed to work better than expected, hurting him.
Spidey webbed up the water more and saw him come into a physical form, not taking any chances he knocked him out cold. "Your body isn't all water then? Fascinating. I wonder how all of this works." He wondered allowed to himself and brought him over to the police who were looking pretty serious. "You should keep an eye on him."
They didn't bother to nod and put a collar onto him.
"What's that?" Peter asked.
"It's for mutatints, to stop them from using their powers." Captain Stacy said coming up to Spider-Man.
He looked surprised. "Okay, I didn't know that was a possibility. How'd you know he was a you know?"
"That guy Hydro Man is an escaped fugitive, been causing trouble for awhile now apparently, you did good with taking him down." Stacy said.
"He nearly killed me, so I'm glad he wasn't at least a small-time baddy." Peter joked. "Oh and that reminds me, everything hurts."
Stacy laughed slightly.
"I know it sounded funny, but seriously everything hurts." Peter admitted.
"I'm sorry then." Stacy replied.
Peter brushed it off. "I'll be fine. Did you see my two amazing friends?" He asked.
"Can't say I did, looks like Cage and Jones didn't want to stick around. They did leave us another super criminal though, Chance. Along with some street thugs." He replied.
"Good that Chance guy was giving me a headache would you believe how much he said 'chance this chance this? It was nuts, like seriously get some new material right?" Peter said, shaking his head and putting his hands up.
"You know, it's a good thing it's not a school day today, you look like being subtle wouldn't work for you today" Stacy pointed out.
"Don't forget too, I'm going to need a lot of sleep after the day I've had. Getting knocked around and thrown off a few buildings can really take it out of a guy you know." Peter said before swinging off. It is too bad I didn't get to say thanks to those two. Perhaps on another team up, it seems like a small world.
Jessica Jones and Luke Cage watched from afar, seeing the police arrive and Spider-Man swinging off.
"That kid was pretty alright." Luke said cheerfully.
"He started getting on my nerves, but yeah he wasn't the worst. And it was nice getting to help him, being a hero again. Made me think about our invitation to The Avengers." She said looking over at him.
"Don't you think Danny will be jealous?" Luke asked with a smirk.
Jessica shrugged. "He'll get over it. He's a big boy."
Luke smiled. "You're right he will, looks like we're going to be Avengers. Still will have to make time to fight crime with him."
"Oh without a doubt." Jessica replied with some sarcasm. "Oh and I'm blaming you if he says anything about it."
"Wouldn't expect anything else Jess." Luke rolled his eyes at her.
They then kissed happily.
Peter continued thinking about the events that occurred. The photos can't forget those bad boys Led would like me and I wouldn't blame him. Then there is the matter of Tombstone and MJ's dad. He did save me or spare me there, maybe he can still be redeemed. That'd be great for MJ, if he can reform I want to believe he can. If Crime Master is gone then it'd make everything easier, how'd he know I'd show up here? This was a big gamble, the slightest chance I didn't show up would've been a waste of major players. A good chance. Oh great now I'm talking like that guy. Maybe I hit my head hard, could someone in the bugle be working for Crime Master? Or even be them? Oh yeah I'm totally losing it. I'm going to wake up on a flying saucer soon, or maybe I'm already there? Unless I'm right, there is a mole on the loose. Or someone could've followed us here, still how'd they know Spider-Man would show up? Could someone know who I am? So many questions and lots of pain. I need to get to the bottom of this asap, after I get some rest and heal up. Looks like the fight is getting started, Crime Master can't hide from me anymore. One way or another I'm going to get to the bottom of this, the Bugle could be the key and MJ's dad. Till then, sleep here I come. Peter thought to himself and swung off into the day more determined than ever to bring down his enemy.
Thank you for reading and hope you all enjoyed Jessica Jones and Luke Cage appearing in the story to help out Spider-Man, he sure needed it. I enjoyed bringing in an unknown villain like Chance and having Hydro Man appear, during my original plans I will say he had a larger and cooler role, but things have changed. I'm loving building up the rogues gallery of villains continuing to increase. Wonder if any will be returning down the road, or a lot…Anywho, the plot is heating up and I can promise The Crime Master's identity will be revealed very soon. I'm excited for where we're going and what the future holds for the series again which I'm so happy to say.
Also completely forgot to say, did anyone love how I so casually had potential set up for Venom and Carnage? I love all the symbiotes, so you can expect some cropping up in the future as long as I don't cancel the series anytime soon. I'd really love to reach for the more obscure ones and some of the secondary ones, so much potential. So exciting, fingers crossed.
