Max Dillon was sitting at home in his room tinkering on a powered electronic suit. It was drawing in a lot of power usage and his father started banging on his door.
"What are you doing in there!" He roared at him through the door.
"Nothing." He lied unconvincingly.
His father kept banging on the door. "Open this door!"
Max now started to ignore his father, as the door was blocked and he wouldn't be able to bust it down putting his dresser in front of it. His project that would change his life was about to be completed and he wasn't going to let anyone, most certainly not his father stop his suit's creation.
"I'm calling the cops Max! Sick of your crap!" He shouted and sounded as if he stormed down stairs.
Max kept ignoring him, not bothered by it at all, now stepping into his suit feeling more powerful than ever before. Electricity was flowing through it and was at his control now, it was real power. "Everyone is going to know my name now. And they'll pay for everything, I'm going to make myself known." He declared leaving though the window and used his new found power giving himself flight floating away from his home determined on his mission.
Elsewhere, Peter was hanging out with his friends, about a week after taking down the Thieves Guild Gwen was talking a lot about being a lab assistant she was really enjoying it and Harry pretended to understand what on earth he was hearing.
"Very cool!" Harry exclaimed, hoping he said it at the right time.
Gwen stared at him. "Do you even know what I'm talking about?"
Harry sweated nervously.
As any good friend, probably, would do, Peter stepped into distracting from that. "Sounds like you're having a wonderful experience Gwen!"
"It's been a lot more fascinating than I anticipated. Doctor Conners is very intelligent as I've obviously made clear. His research does have a lot of potential." She explained.
"So you have, sounds like his tests are gathering positive results as well. It's incredible as he'd be able to crack cell regeneration, making it replicate to humans, the limbs that could be regrown could change the world." Peter responded excitedly.
Gwen nodded. "A true shame we both couldn't be assistants together, if only there were two slots open. It'd be immensely enjoyable!" She said not knowing the truth.
Peter then turned to MJ. "Have you had as much of an exciting time as our lab genius? This past week?"
"You already know what I was up to this week, hope you haven't forgotten." She joked.
"Oh maybe I have hit my head only a few hundred times you know." He remarked jokingly back.
Their two friends looked confused by the remark, but even more strangely and importantly the power started to flicker. And Peter's spider sense went off, he immediately moved to grab MJ's hand.
"What's happening? Somebody forget the power bill!" Harry joked.
"No, it's like something is overloading it or draining a lot of power." She replied more seriously, looking around concerned.
MJ whispered to Peter. "Danger?"
"Danger. I can't tell where." He whispered back.
The question was quickly answered as a figure approached the ground gently looking as if they were floating thanks to the electricity. "Bet I look very powerful and noticeable now!" He shouted out which was carried across the area.
"Who is that guy?" Harry questioned, confused.
A couple security guards approached with guns raised. "Stop what you're doing now!" They shouted at him.
"Oh no, I'm back for payback, all these years of misery nobody is going to ruin it. Not even you guards." He said, shocking their hands making the guns blow up and they quickly retreated. "That's right! Run!"
"Wait, that's Max Dillon!" Peter whispered to himself and MJ heard.
"What's he doing?" She asked.
"Causing a lot of trouble. Try distracting them so I can run and change." Peter said to her, continuing to make sure they didn't hear.
The chance became clear as Max become more enraged starting to might lights explode and shooting out electricity. "Where is Doug Reisman! I've got a score to settle! And if I don't have him in front of me right now, people are going to get in my way!" He exclaimed, firing out more electricity.
"Run!" Peter yelled to his friends and as they did, MJ tried distracting them as he ducked out to change.
Shortly he returned as Spider-Man heading towards Max, but spotted Harry and Gwen still nearby, though MJ was trying to pull them away. Why do people stay near danger? I say while I walk right up to it.
Spidey started walking towards Max slowly and calmly with his hands up high. "Hey, something seems to be the matter. What's gotten you so upset?"
"Stay back! This doesn't have to do with you!" He shouted towards him.
"Understandable, however if you are intending on hurting somebody, well I'm not keen on letting that happen." He replied, crossing his arms now.
"I'm turning the tables on the people who've made my life a miserable time and you won't be stopping me." Max responded, starting to seemingly charge up.
Peter stepped back. "Okay, let's all stay calm. I'm sure we'll be able to come to an understanding and sing together. It'll be beautiful." He suggested.
"No. You won't do this, I won't be mocked by you!" He exclaimed, shooting out electricity at Spider-Man who avoided it.
"Woah now, let's keep it calm alright we can still end this peacefully." Spider-Man pleaded to Max.
"I'm not looking for peace, I'm looking for revenge against all these worthless people!" He continued yelling.
Making matters worse Doug stepped forward laughing at him. "Is this some kind of a prank? Man this is crazy for my birthday!" He said surprised.
"Seriously it's your birthday? This isn't a prank! Back off, this is real!" His spider sense went off as he saw Max turning to him about to blast him. "Crap." Spidey rushed towards him grabbing him and pulling him away. "Listen you big oof, this is real and this guy seems quite a bit angry!"
"What? I don't even know that guy!" He exclaimed.
Peter rolled his eyes under his mask bewildered by his guy's impotence. "How did someone like you get into university?"
"My parents have a stake in this crummy place! You can't talk to me that way!" He said very offended.
Spidey annoyedly webbed his mouth shut. "I've got a feeling that'll help." Max came charging at them again shooting out more electricity at them.
"Could we please be more friendly? I'm really not keen on fighting you!" He exclaimed one last time and started trying to get rid of Doug.
The guy got the hint running away.
"No! You won't escape me!" Max shouted out, making electricity overload and explode around Doug trying to kill him.
Spider-Man looked upset. "Alright I've had it with you pal!" He exclaimed, coming to kick his new foe to the ground and tried to web him up. Spider sense went off after he immediately broke free blasting him with electricity, it was hard to avoid then an incoming bullet managing to hit Peter good. "Okay, that was painful." He noted looking at his suit being damaged a bit. "My suit's really not having a great year!" Spider-Man leaped back up and webbed Max's face launching himself towards his enemy knocking him down to the ground, processing to web him to the ground.
"Let me go!" He shouted trying to break free.
"No way! You've caused enough trouble, this is going to end before anyone gets hurt. You're in major trouble." Peter claimed, shaking his head at him.
Max started to charge up, as Spidey jumped away from him as he shot out a large blast of electric energy.
More people were in danger, for some reason watching the fight go down. "Kids these days I swear!" Peter said to himself and started grabbing people to move them all to safety, finding even his friends.
"Spider-Man! Our friend is missing! Have you seen anyone named Peter?" Gwen asked, of course not knowing she was speaking to Peter.
He spoke in a silly voice. "Why yes I happened to find a young man named Peter, brought him to the other side of the university, I'd recommend that you 3 kind caring youngsters get out of here!"
As Spider-Man said this, Max came over and started blasting at them. "You're a dead man Spider-Man! And all these people you are protecting! See my power now losers!" He cried out.
"Book it! Now!" He yelled at them and noticed electricity being shot out, heading towards his friends webbing away Gwen and Harry, though grabbing MJ himself bringing her away to safety. "Are you okay?"
"Are you?" She asked back to him.
"Not entirely sure, Max has gone off the deep end. He's very pissed off, but I don't know if I should hurt him, I feel badly for the guy." Peter responded.
MJ looked at him. "No offense, he is trying to kill us. He seems to be having difficulties, but I think that trumpets everything trying to kill people and not to mention you've already given him a few chances to stop.." She replied.
"Can't disagree with that." He went away rushing back towards Max. "This is your last chance, stop now or you're going to get a royal butt kicking!"
Max continued on not listening blasting more electricity at Spidey.
"I've had with your electricity blasts!" He exclaimed punching Max in the face knocking him back hard, he desperately got up trying to escape.
"I need a recharge." He said to himself, starting to fly away escaping heading towards a transformer that stored a lot of power. It said maximum voltage. "Perfect! A sign to mock me, of course!" He grabbed onto it absorbing power into his suit, causing a massive overload and he looked greatly shocked as he got overcharged with electricity seemingly getting fried by it.
"Oh no, Max!" Peter shouted running towards him, realizing thanks to his spider sense he couldn't even grab him yet having electricity flowing through his body and suit, like a loose wire, it'd kill him. "Dammit." He said to himself sitting next to Max. "I'm sorry, another person I couldn't help." He said to himself.
Later, Max was carefully taken away, his fate was unclear.
Peter was beating himself up a bit after how everything played out.
"Are you alright? I'm sorry for how everything happened with Max." MJ said to him, giving him a massive hug.
"It's fine, did all I could right?" Peter replied back gracefully accepting the hug from MJ.
She nodded and looked around. "I wonder how he did this, stealing so much electricity, must've been hard."
Peter thought about his fight. "Max was a genius in engineering and electronics, perhaps he built himself a suit harnessing the power all around us. He could've done a lot more damage if I hadn't stopped him. Hopefully Max will find peace."
"You really are the sweetest guy around, aren't you?" She smiled.
"I'd like to think so." He replied back. "Wishing naturally I could've helped Max more, the jerk who pushed him off the deep end doesn't deserve to get away with all this. He's a thug and bullied him for no reason!"
MJ looked at him. "Agreed, he should get some compence for this. It's not for us to decide of course, but yeah he's a jerk and doesn't deserve anything good."
"You're right, I wish Spider-Man could make him pay, but you're right. It wouldn't be good, Aunt May, Uncle Ben and you wouldn't approve."
"Yeah, I wouldn't approve. Though seriously he's such a jerk. Can't believe Flash Thombson of all people stood up for Max, wonder how he feels about all this crap?" MJ wondered, sharing her thoughts with Peter.
"Good question, maybe I should find him."
Before he could do that, MJ's new acquaintance, Sally, came over. Oh boy. Peter thought to himself, waiting to get an insult.
"Hey, Mary Jane, Parker. So uh, elephant in the room, I was kinda a jerk right?" She immediately looked a bit embarrassed.
Peter was surprised. "I guess a bit."
She looked a bit mad from that remark, but breathed deeply. "Yes, I was a jerk. And I'm sorry about that, so how about we all start over now. Mostly because Mary Jane's pretty cool." She admitted.
"I agree with that and okay, let's start over. My name is Peter. What's yours? You seem nice." He said sarcastically.
Sally looked like she wanted to strangle him, but grit her teeth. "Very funny, Peter."
MJ pulled her aside. "Let's go do something else." They walked off.
"Sometimes I don't feel like my jokes are appreciated." Peter remarked walking away looking for Flash.
Elsewhere, Max was being taken away to the morgue as he approached it, something unexpected happened. He woke up starting to draw power and getting up, breaking through the back doors. "What, what's happening?" He questioned furious seeing energy flowing through his veins. "My suit, it must've been overloaded. How am I still alive? I got hit by a lot of electricity and now, it's a part of me. This feels very different. Amazing, I need more power." He said to himself. "First, I've gotta pay a visit to my father." Max declared allowed.
The driver got out. "What on earth!" He exclaimed, grabbing his phone. "Sparky is alive! I repeat, the guy I'm transporting isn't even dead!" The guy shouted running away.
"I was dead? This, it's a rebirth. I can feel it." He smiled to himself and felt himself go into a power line. This sensation, it's so strange and astonishing! I love this, I can travel anywhere, like home. Max thought of doing such, shortly arriving at his home entering his dad's tv making it break.
"What! No! I was watching the game you stupid peice of-" He was abrubly cut off by Max making the tv explode and all the power. Going out of it appeared in front of him. "A monster! I knew this house was haunted!"
"What? You don't know your own son?" Max said.
He grabbed a gun trying to shoot at him.
"Illegal gun, lovely dad." He made the gun explode in his hand.
"You look like a freak!" He shouted at him pointing out how yellow electricity seemed to be flowing through him increasingly making his head glow yellow having electricity coming from his head.
"I like the new look, it shows the change. My new power. I'm much stronger than you now and I'm not afraid of you anymore. I'm a new man." He said, charging up his power.
"What are you then huh freak? Some electric freak of nature!" His father roared at him.
Max smirked, feeling overly confident and enjoying finally getting to make his father pay. "No, you can call me, Electro!" He shouted glowing more and shooting out a massive blast at his father. "And I'm getting started. I'm very hungry for more power and to be seen as more than a loser, my wish has come true and everyone didn't see Max Dillon, they'll see the might of Electro!" He yelled out, finally feeling himself.
We've finally reached chapter 50 and the introduction of Electro. If someone told me when I started this close to 5 whole years ago it'd take this long to finally get to chapter 50 and bring in this iconic Spidey villain I'd probably faint. Alas, here we are. Let's hope for not taking 5 more years to introduce Green Goblin, Doc Ock or Venom. I am of course being sarcastic, I promise. The progress is going up and the series is progressing along a lot better now. I feel envious of all you lucky readers who have fortunately not been waiting so long and I apologize again to all of you who might've been waiting for a long while.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to the next chapters with everyone getting to read them. I've loved writing the next batch of them. There is a lot of stuff I liked writing coming up next, so hope you all enjoy it.
For the record I posted this on July 24th a little past midnight, some crazy stuff was announced during comic-con. I have a lot to say, so I'll save it for next time. Walls of text aren't fun especially if I don't know if people are even reading this.
So for now, thoughts on Spider-Man Freshman Year or whatever. It seems interesting, hopefully so. I'm still a bit skeptical of the series, it's definitely got a lot going for it and I really, really want it to be the level of spectacular Spider-Man.
Nico from the runaways potentially going to be a big player could be nice to see, I love her a lot. Honestly tempted to go on a whole tangent about that show which has sadly been overshadowed by all this Disney Plus content. So, give that a watch and Nico has a very sweet relationship which in no way in hell will over return, so, joy. I bet she'll be Peter's love interest and my hair will only mostly be pulled out! I kid, I hope. I mean there is no way, not a chance Nico might not exactly be into guys exclusively. No way that Bi will be anywhere near MCU friendly Nico aka Sister Grim.
Daredevil getting to team up with Spider-Man could be cool and more Doctor Strange, but it does seem a little concerning camo overload wise, I just don't want Spidey to get overshadowed and this new cast. Of course it could have a lot of episodes, honestly everything is up in the air. Just after everything Marvel has done lately and What If, I'm just pretty skeptical.
Anyways, with the revelation of Secret Wars real, there is a slight chance of this show actually being canon with some timey replacey nonsense. Also there is no way Doctor Doom has any part of Secret Wars like people want, at least no way in less it's completely rushed.
