Naruto's resting place.
Sakura sat on the 4ths head beside Naruto's real grave, she looked out over Konoha to the horizon lettering the warm breeze hit her face. She started coming up here the night of Naruto's murder, now she did it to give Naruto some company. She thought about inviting Hinata but never got around to it, given all of Hinata's current troubles with the elders these days she promised to do it today. She found the location to be peaceful helped her to think, perfect for a couple of young girls with to many problems. "So how have you been?". She asked aloud to the grave to obvious silence she just chuckled. "That good eh?". She said as she pulled out a scroll opening it, she made some home made ramen appear. She put the bowl in front of the grave as an offering to Naruto's spirit.
"It's not Ichiraku but Choji's been coming up with, a special recipe in your honour but this is my own home cooked meal just for you. I only wish I could hear your thoughts on it". She informed with a sad smile. "I'm hoping you like it though ramen isn't exactly my specialty". She continued as a tear went down her eye. "Naruto I know I say this every time I come here, but I miss you, and I'll be back tomorrow as usual but this I'm planning to bring Hinata". She explained as more tears fell she got up and slowly started walking away.
Naruto's publicly known grave.
As usual every two weeks Sasuke did the long walk from his place to the Konoha Graveyard. He refused himself the journey to the real grave and as usual he had a brush and a bucket of water with him. Every two weeks he'd scrub the hatful words and piss stains off the modest, tombstone though today a different kind of piss stain was at the grave. Three men and four sat around Naruto's grave they looked injured. Another and far older man was on his knees praying his glasses got thinker. The hair on top of his head was missing and he had along grey beard his same old green spectacles on his face. It was Mitokado Homura the ex elder council when he finished his pray he grabbed his can helping himself up. "Spread the word around your circle of retards. Stop fucking with this young man's grave, because either his ghost or my will spend the rest of eternity waiting to torment you fuckers". He ordered dangerously they nodded terrified Sasuke noticed the welts from bruises on their faces. "Good now go on Fuck off with you". He ordered they ran out just in time for him to see Sasuke.
"Boy". He greeted Sasuke bowed even though he hated doing it for this man. "Mitokado-Sama". He returned Homura allowed himself a chuckle. "No Sama's are needed not anymore not ever again". He informed Sasuke shrugged then went to work. "Why are here praying at Naruto's grave?". He asked while scrubbing. "Came to see Hiruzen Kagami and Torifu. Then saw those morons desecrating Naruto-Sama's grave and figured what the hell? I might as well tan off backside and say a prayer for the lad". He informed Sasuke allowed a chuckle of his own to escape. "His ghost or yours?". He asked Homura shrugged with a small grin.
"A Shinobi always finds an opening, with that ghost story and me being as old as I am. It was simple besides scare tactics were my Team 7 specialty back in the day. Me Hiruzen and Koharu in our prime makes your Raven Core, look like a jake". He jested with a chuckle Sasuke actually read the Team 7 history when he was released from T . It proved Homura wasn't bullshitting filing that away for later seeing some use, for the old man said Homura picked up on. Sasuke asked a different question. "Who's Kagami and Torifu?". He asked Homura sighed. "Two of my dearest friends an Uchiha and Akamichi. Danzo's old teammates two more people Tobirama-Sensai could have made Hokage". He explained legitimately surprising Sasuke making him grin.
"Your prick of a father never believed the story either. Couldn't believe the Uchiha hating Tobirama would ever pick one of you but it was true. Sensai didn't play ignorant anymore then he played favourites".' He informed with a fond grin. "Hell if it wasn't for these bastard gold and silver brothers, Kagami was a sure thing. He was Shisui's grandfather if you don't know him you're a moron, and he was the best of your clan also Itachi's best friend". He said with a chuckle.
"I remember Shisui vaguely, where's he buried?". He asked Homura shrugged. "According to Itachi's last report to Hiruzen he pulled a Naruto and went off a cliff Itachi burned his body afterwards, to bad to he was Hiruzen's next successor". He informed Sasuke frowned sadly making Homura sigh. "Timing is everything Hiruzen was going to tell him the same day. Danzo stole one of his eyes. One of his agents poisoned him so we went out on his own terms". He continued frowning was Shisui's godfather but kept that to himself.
"Look kid all things considered I used to think being a Shinobi was a heroic, the clan wars knocked the idea out of my head". Sasuke looked at him. "Then I believed it was to honour your clan's legacy, which was even dummer. ThenI smartened up and still missed the point". He admitted with a tired sigh looking older than he already was. "What we should have been were the protectors of our village and of you little ankle bitters, instead we were tools for one of my ex-best friends. Losing everyone I cared about in the process, my love Kaori my brother Hiruzen my still best friends Kagami and Torifu". He continued frowning more.
"Koharu is all I have left and we spent the best years of our lives totally, missing the point our heroes tried to teach us". He said sadly putting a hand on Sasuke's shoulder. "I've killed for Konoha kid on both sides of our border. I was a hunter nin, after the war one of Hiruzen's best whether he liked it or not. But unlike you it took me over fifty years to regret it". He looked at Naruto's grave. "I've kill friends people I was in the shit for three wars with. Each time more and more left human enough to be sick of it". A tear went down his eye. "This isn't something I want you to experience, even if I helped make you this. Danzo wanted a loyal pure blood Uchiha. I wanted to preserve just a little bit of Kagami's clan. But as usual Fucked it up". He squeezed Sasuke's shoulder. "You're still young kid, young enough to make amends for your mistakes". He advised be for slowly walking away Sasuke thought about it, as he continued scrubbing.
The former Team 10's training ground.
Choji was doing push-ups in his heavy armour sweating up a storm Guy was watching him with Asuma both frowning. The new Beast of Konoha the Bull of the Akamichi clan was a rather gentle soul, Choji always hated fighting and hurting people but needed to fight. He didn't care about his Clan status as the up and coming head, useless things like tradition. Choji was fighting because his friends were and was building up the muscle to help them. Getting up he walked to a large rock assuming his Sumo stance he threw an open palmed strike, a then another and another. Because of Neji and Hinata's training Choji's hands moved with such speed they were barely visible to the senior Jonin's.
Cracks were appearing behind the boulder either from Choji's Chakra or just straight up strength and discipline they didn't know, was moving through boulder in to a single point. He wasn't just going to battle as an armoured down berserker, no Choji was going in a warrior and ultimate defiance for his allies. It was his one attachment to the Clan traditions he almost completely forsook, his Clan were nobility in Konoha like the Hyuga and Aburame. Where the Hyuga's are the sword and the Aburame are the hidden dagger in the shadows. The Akamichi are the Shield Choji is now the embodiment of that title.
His final strict blew a hole through the boulder out the other side, leaving the rest semi intact. With a sigh he stretched as Tenten walked over with Lee. "Impressive Choji the Raven Core could use you". Lee completed making Guy and Asuma frown Choji shook his head. "I'd rather be with the front line defenders, can't exactly do that on a single team but I'll have your backs out there when I can". He assured Lee shrugged it off. "Fair enough the new mine fields ready, now Tenten may be the Pyro manic of the team but you seem to have a fondness explosions yourself these days". He said grinning at his glaring teammate Choji chuckled.
"Not exactly fond of them but it's part of my training". He said getting their attention. "I have complete faith in T's craftsmanship don't get me wrong, but even fully armoured getting blown up is still terrifying. I'm just making sure I'm as used to it as possible before we fight". He informed Lee grinned at that with Tenten. "Besides I'm sure Tenten bombs are more scary to run through then Iwa's explosive core". He assured making the two laugh. Guy smiled a bit happy his former students can still share a laugh with their friends. He's been worried about the two since joining the Raven Core. Where Neji's team do infiltrate enemy lines more they still work at a safe distance most of the time. Tenten and Lee on the other hand are a little too up front even for the Taijutsu Master of Konoha.
It made him frown sadly thinking about his old team. As their Sensai Guy was privy to certain secrets when it came to his students. Even to things he wasn't supposed to know especially with Lee and Tenten. With Lee he was abandoned by his parents in a shitty little village outside Konoha, and believe it or not a 14 year old Genin Guy was the one who carried him to Konoha. It was one of the many reasons why he had such a fondness for his former clone. Though obviously he never told Lee this he wanted his student to respect him as a mentor not out of debt. Looking at how Lee turned out now Guy still never had a single regret for saving the kid. Tenten on the other hand was a run away orphan herself, her parents were good people her father died in the third war and her mother in the Kyuubi attack.
She was only there for eight years, and was a quiet girl back then she wore a hoodie to remain unnoticed by the other kids. She wasn't abused or berated like Naruto and Anko, or picked on by the other kids like Lee, but still hated the place. It was a surprise for Guy when he realized she was actually living in the abandoned apartment directly under Naruto himself. She joined the academy at six with no protes from anyone. Seeing as for one the academy to creat soldiers was obviously free to join. Two as an orphan Tenten didn't need parental permission and the orphanage, doesn't have the right to stop them. She even survived on the cafeteria lunches till becoming a Genin.
Finally and unfortunately three the dark truth was the caretakers were so concerned with bothering Naruto they failed to notice Tenten's disappearance entirely. By then she was a Genin and they only found out because Guy had a vary long talk with the headmaster and a visiting Hiruzen behind closed doors. The ANBU never saw two adults let alone their leader so pale in their life. Much like what Tenten made Guy do the Hokage was sworn to absolute silence and was made to give Tenten her inheritance early to get a new apartment. Something she was entirely greatful for whether or not, she was embarrassed by Guy she did respect him. He only wished that when he had the Hokage by the metaphorical balls, he didn't think of Naruto at the time.
He didn't care about Naruto's reputation or his Jinchuuriki status, the kid was just that to Guy a kid. A child who had nothing to his name not even his actual name for that matter, but was still a shining example of Youth if Guy ever saw it. As an orphan himself with his loving mother dying in the war and his father sacrificing him to save Guy and his teams life. He knew full well how much it hurt, it was again one of many reasons why he was so proud of his team. Why he liked challenging Kakashi but where that was over his care for his students will always remain. Shaking his head of his thoughts he looked at Choji, who was preparing. Channeling Chakra to his weapon the hammer grew to the size of a battering ram then smack back down. He used maximum expansion and like the hammer the armour grew with Choji. He continued testing it as usual while Tenten scanned her creations for any flaws as usual.
They were so focused on what was going to happen they failed to notice they were being watched. The spy was wearing camouflage blending in to the hill top seamlessly watching through a telescope, with one hand and writing in a notebook with the other. Choji took at few deep breaths gripped his hammer tightly and charged. Explosions rocked the fortress and he didn't stop when a dummy popped up it was either smashed with his hammer or plowed straight through. When trees started to fall Choji continued run swatting them away like nothing. Reaching the end Choji, extended the handle of his hammer and slammed it down in to the ground, anchoring himself so he could drift around and run back.
Iwa.
Onoki read the notes with a glare. "They started calling him the Bull, his Clan's not far off either". Foxtrot informed Onoki sighed. "Any ideas on how to counter this bastard?". He asked knowing this guy normally did, he put a case on the table filled with purple vails. "A steroid made by a client who owed me a favour, it's tested safe and certified". He assured Onoki scanned them. "It looks like something that snake bastard would make". He stated Foxtrot shrugged. "Up to you the first case is free. Then it's a five-hundred ryo a needle, the effects are permanent just so you know". He priced Onoki was silent. "I'll ask for volunteers but that sounds cheap for you". He said Foxtrot nodded before leaving to the window. "Of course consider it a discount for my first class client". He informed jumping out Onoki sighed. "Who's the real tool in this war him or us?". He asked himself tiredly looking at Foxtrots sketch of Choji's armour.
A month later.
Shino's Beatles, flew around Iwa's training grounds, they saw a few of the new giants they were armoured down beasts. They saw a man get injected the vains in his arms got bigger his muscles grew, and his chests puffed out more, even growing three feet taller. Akatsuchi was standing there watching he was frowning he'd be leading the new Earthquake unit but didn't look happy about it. He got the injection, at Onoki's request, but unlike the others it didn't look like he had any visible changes, still at six foot eleven though his new armour and robe may be concealing it.
He found the whole thing insulting to both the troops and himself, the only reason he agreed to it was because he was doubling as Kurotsuchi's bodyguard on certain missions and meetings. Kurotsuchi was his friend former teammate commander and future Tsuchikage, he was more loyal to her then Onoki and that's saying something.
Their training was similar to Choji's as well they even had armour though it wasn't up to Tentens standard. Though the stone armour under it made the comparison moot. Reporting back to their host the team now knew two things, they'll need more powerful weapons and will need to tighten security. Luckily they had the best person for weapons at least, and already had information that could stall production, on those beasts.

Land of Earth Port.
Onoki stood with Kitsuchi Kurotsuchi and Foxtrot as his bodyguards. Both father and daughter tried talking with the annoyed commander, but got nothing. "So why exactly were your men scanning the Ship instead of myself?". The assassination asked Kitsuchi glared. "My men are capable enough to secure a load of supplies, and your damn drug". He said with a sneer Foxtrot glanced at him. "Watch that tone boy". He ordered Kitsuchi was pissed now. "Enough the both of you". Onoki ordered Foxtrot shrugged and Kitsuchi snorted annoyed.
Underwater.
Shikamaru Ino Shino and Neji were swimming underwater, thankfully the Kiri allies to Suna were nice enough to supply the team with re-breathers, they were deep under the water. They got in to their for positions and placed some of Tenten new paper bombs, the bun haired girl was evidently quite the pyro. She always had a huge smile when her tags went off in testing. They shivered remembering as they swam off. Getting back on land they waited Neji grinned. "Take this you son of a bitch". He said activating the tags. The ship exploded in to a mass of Fire and Water knocking everyone back. Foxtrot grabbed Onoki while Kitsuchi pushed Kurotsuchi to the ground, covering them. The assassin and Kage were launched through a window while the Shadow Strike ran off grinning, whether or not they were dead their revenge was fulfilled for now anyway.
Everyone was either dead injured or at best deaf Kitsuchi glared at the destruction over his daughter. "FUCK". He said getting up as Foxtrot walked out of the the building covered in dust but looked fine. "So your men are capable are they?". He said with annoyance but all Kitsuchi heard was ringing in his ears. Onoki coughed seeing his son and granddaughter still alive was a relief. "Dad". She said stunned he glared angrily at her. "It was a reflex nothing else". He informed Kurotsuchi didn't believe it in the slightest but was still sad that her father was still pissed at her, not that she could blame him. "Foxtrot find us something to return the favour". Onoki ordered the assassin nodded walking off, he stepped over the body of an injured man with little care as he did so.
Tenten's forge.
Tenten was working on new weapons it's been a vary useful distraction since her and Ino's spat with Tsunade. She was starting to feel that joy in battle like Lee's been feeling but knew how to separate it from home for the most part. Right now crossbows were her focus studying the maps and reports from the Shadow Strike. She realized the Land of Earths terrain could be used against it's own people, if Konoha controlled the various mountain tops that surrounded Iwa, they could pick their targets off at a distance. She factored in Iwa's stone armour and planned accordingly.
First a pump action crossbow that uses steel bolts instead of wooden ones, to penetrate their rock armour. She designed an easy slide cartridge to hole up to five bolts at a time. When the cartridge gets loaded the pump works a slide, catching the bolt sliding it upwards. The bolt then gets grabbed by two portable hooks pulling it in place, which the same action pulls the string back in to place. It was little bits and pieces made it complicated to repair for a reason it was designed for the purpose of being a Konoha only weapon. If and when the enemy gets their hands on them, when it eventually brakes, it will be useless to Iwa. She planned to create a class for soldiers how to properly use and maintain, this weapons.
She also was figuring out how to create explosive bolts after hearing about something called Juggernauts but put them on the back burner, in favour of her new creation. The long ranger a five foot collapsible crossbow, an anniversary present for Neji. It unlike its pump actioned little brother, could only be outfitted with the pullback for the string but needed to be hand loaded. The bolts were thicker but the force of the launcher made it a none issue. Finally she added an iron sight. It was connected to a two legs circled over the muzzle. The end had two support legs at the with its size meant the user, would need something to lean it on or fire from the ground on their stomachs.
She had a connection for a scope needing one for long range targets but had a theory, involving the Byakugan. If she was correct the Hyuga's would be one of the deadliest Clan's in the war. "Hello gorgeous". She heard turning to see Neji with a smile a box of chocolates and flowers, she grinned showing him his present Neji chuckled. "You know me so well those tags worked wonders by the way". He informed walking up and kissing her that she returned. "Am I interrupting something?". They heard and sighed annoyed turning they saw Shikamaru and Konohamaru. "Not at all Sir I love having you guys here watching, while I'm kissing my girlfriend during our anniversary". Neji said sarcastically Konohamaru grinned. "Excellent so is that thing ready?". He asked Tenten showed her creation. "Perfect it goes off before Neji does let's go". He ordered walking off annoying them, as they followed.
Testing sight.
Konohamaru was impressed with everyone else. Tenten as usual hit her targets dead centre. With a grin she looked at Konohamaru who nodded. It was Neji's turn he wasn't bad but wasn't great Tenten removed the scope. "Use her Byakugan". She ordered Neji did as told and grinned target after target fell, then he appeared to be missing horribly. "Perfect". Tenten said smiling looking through her binoculars getting their attention. She passed them to Konohamaru. "Wow". He said then passing them to Shikamaru, he saw the targets then the ones behind them and just barely saw the ones hiding in trees.
"Well I'll admit T you're a master weapons smith". Konohamaru admitted she smiled. "By the way can I ask you something?". He asked she nodded. "All our clans have something new to them, a weapon or whatever yes?". He asked she nodded. "What did my clan get?". He asked she shrugged. "I was never given any information about your clan, what I gave you was at Sakura's request". Konohamaru nodded in understanding. "My clan is more multi-purpose than most, so I understand that and there isn't a Sarutobi, in your squad". He informed she nodded with a frown. "I'll ask Asuma to provide you with some information. Other than that here". He pulled Shikamaru away for a moment and passed him a file.
"One of my spy's was captured by Foxtrot, I want her rescued but while you have that new toy see if you can take out the bastard". He ordered Shikamaru nodded. "I know you won't like it but why shouldn't we take her out?". Konohamaru glared. "Because first of all we'll need to know what ever she gave to them to protect my other spies. Second she's not betraying me of her own volition they took her brother, and third and this is the most important part Nara if you I find out you didn't at least try. I will fucking destroy you". He threatened dangerously. "It's a vary last resort but I won't put your spy's life over Konoha not knowing what she gave is better then them knowing everything, it's a sacrifice we can afford to lose, besides if we attack Jōmae we basically gave them to Iwa". He countered Konohamaru saw the logic but was still pissed about it.
"This isn't Shogi you fuck this isn't just a pawn, to sacrifice even if she was unlike Shoji the others will want answers for it, Jōmae works on neutrally sure we'll be attacking Iwa on their front porch, but if word gets out their already playing sides every other village will want them out of the way they can't afford that". He assured Shikamaru sighed. "I'm sorry we'll do everything we can but if push comes to shove, we'll need to eliminate her". He wasn't backing down Konohamaru sighed. "She'll stall as long as possible. You better at least try Captain or you'll pay for it". He threatened Shikamaru glared. "Are we going to have to watch you? The spying game makes everyone pawns". He explained Konohamaru glared in return. "I'm already watching you Nara either protect my pawn or you'll replace her, and don't you ever to me how the game is played again boy". He informed pushing him aside.
"I know you don't believe me but I would be joining if the council didn't call me. I've had Spy's betray me all ready Nara and they're already dead". He assured them sighed. "And Asami isn't one of them". He assured walking away Shikamaru thought about it. Konoha didn't need anymore in fighting but would do what was needed. An image of Danzo crept in his head and sighed ashamed as he read the file and signed again. "Another target?". Neji asked frowning. "Yeah an assassination and rescue it's perfect for your new to unfortunately, we need to head out in an hour to make it". He informed Neji sighed annoyed the gave Tenten a sorry look. "If it makes you feel better it also says, another Iwa platoon is planning to intercept us, incase we plan to attack so we can go together, and give your new toy, some proper field testing". He assured they nodded still annoyed before going to work to get ready.
Land of Keys.
Information is power, this is the exact motto of the information dealing Jōmae no Sato. Unlike the other shinobi villages Jomae is one giant home for Spymasters. There newest occupant was one of Konohamaru's contacts though for unknown reasons, he decided to work for Keys instead. Uncaring for said reasons Konohamaru ordered an assassination, giving Keys neutrality as well as it's opportunistic business sense, its safe to assume Konohamaru's information would be Iwa properly. With added proof of Iwa's platoon currently guarding the village. All of this would be troublesome if not for Tenten.
The Jōmae heads office.
Kurotsuchi and Foxtrot were standing around with the Key leaders, who sported a grin. She had to guards blocking the door. "So you called a meeting with all of us, I want to hear your reasons?". The village head Akari asked the spy named Asami who glared at the assassin. She was a twenty-six year old girl, she had short black hair much like Kurotsuchi herself and was rather beautiful with a gorgeous body. She wore black pants and blue sweater. "Where's Ling? Where's my little brother you bastard?". She demanded making him shrug. "Safe for now but he won't be if you don't talk". He threatened making her glare tearfully. "He has nothing to do with this". She informed making him shrug again. "That's the point of an innocent loved one to be used by me to manipulate you". He informed with a heartless masked grin, Kurotsuchi frowned disapproving while Asami glared. "Konohamaru gave me the funding, for his medical treatment and you…".
"Nobody fucking cares about what he did for you, only what he's planning to do to us". He informed sternly making everyone in the room flinch. "Holding a family hostage not surprising given what you are, the surprising part is who you are". Akari said with a grin Foxtrot looked at her then back at Asami. "We're waiting". He informed Asami shook while Kurotsuchi kept an intrigued eye on Akari.
Outside on a hill top.
The teams found the perfect vantage point. Though unlike other village leader offices the leaders office only had six small windows for sun light. Luckily they had a Hyuga with a new weapon Neji took aim but raised an eyebrow. "What's up?". Shikamaru asked. "There's three people in the office, one women at the desk I assume is the leader, I see Kurotsuchi leaning against the wall, Foxtrot of course he's there by her side. Another young woman and two guards at the door which is the target?". He asked. "The asshole or bitch, the girls the rescue". Neji nodded. "She's pretty frantic isn't standing still, everyone else isn't moving". He looked at Tenten. "How strong are your bolts?". He asked Tenten thought about it.
"I designed it to pierce rock armor, not walls". He nodded in understanding. "Stand near the window come on Kurotsuchi you bitch, don't be a pussy Fox stick your head out and say hi". He whispered trying to will one of his targets in to place to Tenten and Lee's morbid amusement. "If they don't move take the girl out". Shikamaru ordered normally that would at least raise an eyebrow but all he got was nods from his people. "We could attack I mean we are here and shouldn't we at least try to get her out?". Kiba asked Lee agreed. "It's Shikamaru's mission we'll do it his way, even if do agree with you Kiba". Sasuke informed Tenten sighed.
"At least we can see my baby at work".
"Neji or the bow?". Ino asked with a grin. "Either's fine". They chuckled while Neji focused Shikamaru frowned. It's true they should at least try but he honestly didn't want to risk it. He was planning a lot faster than he used to but still needed more information and prep time. He knew it would piss the kid off especially with the information he has on the girl. "Sorry kid". He thought ashamed when Neji fired.
In the office.
Asami remained calm she knew Konohamaru would understand, she sent word through the pipeline that guaranteed he'd know. She started pacing. "He's building up his network with Jiraiya's old contacts, I've been working on recruitments". She started they nodded. "Got ya". Neji said as he fired Asami's head all of a sudden slammed in to the wall pinned there. "SONOVA BITCH". Kurotsuchi shouted stunned Foxtrot focused. "Target eliminated". Neji said reloading his eyes then widened. "What the fuck?". He said stunned getting their attention. "I can't see Foxtrot it's like he disappeared". He informed surprising everyone. "The guards I think they were just killed. Kurotsuchi's freaking out". He informed shocking them more.
Office.
Akari was shaking as Foxtrot had her by the throat. "Kurotsuchi you best leave, get your men to find the shooter". He ordered she was stunned. "Avoid the windows". He ordered she nodded to surprised to protest. "What do you know?". He demanded getting to work. "Kurotsuchi's up against the wall under the windows she's escaping and the Jarmae leader, seems to be pinned. Kurotsuchi just left. Foxtrot's still in there I'm sure of it but I can't see him. Fuck the Leaders just lost a hand". Neji informed then looked somewhere else Iwa and Jomae are coming this way". He said getting up while Tenten collapsed the weapon. They decided to run hoping to reach Wind before the enemy could get them.
Kurotsuchi stood there angrily when the assassin walked out. He let out a whistle and stuck his arm out for a hawk to land putting something on his leg, the bird flew off. "What the fuck was that all about?". She demanded angrily he looked at her. "Bitch knew things she shouldn't have, now I have to fix this". He said angrily making her shake slightly. "You should leave while you as can". He ordered as he walked off. "The next few jobs are on the house too, I'll even bring Kusa in for this inconvenience". He assured Kurotsuchi looked at her remaining men and nodded for them to leave.
The team's ran through the forest, Iwa and Jarmae were already close. Lee and Tenten looked at each other then moved behind the next set of trees. Letting the oblivious Shinobi to run past them then continued, they pulled Kunai throwing them stabbing the enemy's in their backs. Then jumped to another crew snapping necks and stabbing them. Plenty more were coming they were close to the border and home free.
Jomae village.
Foxtrot was waiting when Fang Ghost and Fixer with two others appeared. "So what's this about kid?". Ghost asked Foxtrot sighed. "Jomae is off the list". He said simply they nodded going to work. "Too bad they were good customers". Fang said the others nodded.
Suna border.
The teams flew passed the line were trees and grass met sand and directly in to a Suna garrison, making the other group pause. "What the fuck is going on?". The captain demanded Iwa and Jarmae glared. "These bastards attacked a neural village". A Jarmae Shinobi said angrily they glared at Konoha. "They had a spy with information on the alliance ready to sell to Iwa". Kiba said quickly they glared at Jarmae when they heard an explosion. "That came from home, fuck this retreat". The leader ordered as they ran off leaving Iwa there.
Everyone was tense for a moment Iwa saw they were out numbered five against three thousand, most likely outmatched and would vary much die if they attacked. They were brave but not stupid they were about to retreat when Tenten took her smaller cross bow. Firing she couldn't even give them a head start as they fell with bolts between the eyes. "I think they were going to run T". Sasuke stated she shrugged them off. "Now then the fuck was that explosion all about?". Lee asked Tenten shrugged again. "Should we risk it?". She asked then noticed someone it was a shocked and shaking Karin Temari was with her, after she heard Konoha was coming. "What is it?". She asked with concern Karin shook more. "Jomae I..I can't sense anyone there, it's like they were all killed". Everyone was shocked.
"I can see those Jomae Shinobi running towards it….their chakra signatures were just snuffed out, I don't know what just did that". She continued fearfully she focused harder. "There is a group of small Chakra signatures, I believe they're kids". Everyone was on edge now. "How are they?". Ino asked with concern Karin didn't know what to say. "We'll investigate when we're sure there's no threat". They heard and saw Gaara. "It has to Foxtrot possibly more of his people too, they're the only ones I could never sense". Karin informed everyone shivered while Lee glared and took off. "LEE". Sasuke running after them with the teams, Gaara sighed looking at Temari who frowned.
"I should have killed him in the exams, Karin Shira Baki Mitauri on me the rest of you stay vigilant". Gaara ordered and ran with Temari being followed with his chosen. "You going to be ok Karin?". Gaara asked she nodded. "I have your back Kazekage-Sama". Karin assured she was scared but wasn't going to let her people down especially Gaara and Temari.
Back at Jomae.
Everyone was shocked even Gaara was visibly stunned at the sight. The village of spy's was absolutely dead. Bodies littered the streets, pools of blood washed over everything. "What the hell happened?". Karin asked on guard for whatever did this still on edge that she couldn't sense anything. The Shadow Strick was hesitant while the Raven Core walked around uncaring, it hurt Neji to see his girlfriend and brother so uncaring about the massacre. "Remain close to me my sand will protect us Karin lead the way". Gaara ordered his people who nodded. Whether or not he needed it the Suna Shinobi were going to protect their Kazekage.
They walked around following the former Oto captain, with Konoha Lee was glaring at everything. "You alright Lee?". Ino asked with concern he glared harder. "Those kids better be fucking safe". He said angrily making them frown. "I can sense them, the same number of people they appear to be unharmed". Karin assured them pointed. "Right there under those vines, there must be a bunker or something". She informed Lee immediately stormed over. "STOP". Ino ordered Lee turned angry. "WHAT?". He shouted back making her glare. "Neji saw Foxtrot this village is dead, who knows what he or what ever did this left behind. A room full of kids for all of us to save smells like a trap to me". Everyone had to agree Lee glared at Ino who in turn smacked him surprising everyone. "Listen here you Fucking baby, everyone on my team and yours hasn't forgiven ourselves for Naruto not just you". She informed angrily smacking him harder, while Temari looked at the frowning Shikamaru.
"But while you're being a suicidal bitch about it, we're making sure that when we get those kids out we don't get them killed seconds later. So stop with the glaring and use your fucking head". She ordered angrily Lee took a breath calming down then nodded. "Are you two done?". Karin asked they nodded. "We're going to check the ground and entrance for traps, my guess is a village of spy's would have a lot of useful information in it". Shikamaru informed Gaara nodded. "Agreed Shikamaru's team should work on that while Sasuke's deal with the prisoners". Everyone nodded but before they could move. "We should split it to pairs of two one Suna and one Konoha". He continued getting their attention.
"I'm guessing for village security reasons?". Shikamaru asked Gaara nodded. "Exactly I don't need either side knowing each other's secrets, especially after last time". Gaara stated Shikamaru nodded looking at Temari. "Shino you and me". She ordered making him frown and the bug user to sigh. "I won't be a go between, for either of you just so you know". He informed making her shrug and him to nod. "Shino stays with us, he and his bugs are useful for trap finding, I'd ask for Karin to for sensing energy. If she doesn't try to stab us in there anyway". Lee asked using his head like Ino ordered, even if he was being dickish about it Karin glared at him.
"As tempting as that is you're the backstabber here, so I'll lead from behind if you don't mind?". She asked Lee shrugged. "So who's replacing Shino and Karin?". Gaara asked Lee pointed to Sasuke who glared but nodded. "Fine he's mine. Matsuri you're going with Ino Jin you and Neji leaving Temari and Shikamaru". Gaara ordered surprising everyone especially the former couple. "Both of you need to talk end of discussion, now move out". He ordered leaving with Sasuke Temari signed annoyed but did as told.
With Karin and Lee.
The two walked along the dark corridor following Shino and Tenten who scanned for traps, which Kiba and Akamaru sniffed the air. "So why me when you had a Hyuga exactly? I'm pretty sure those goofy eyes of his have night vision?". Karin had to ask Tenten glared Lee shrugged. "At least his work properly and he's better for finding, false walls and floor and wall safe. You're just here because we need a sensor". He mocked making Tenten grin Karin glared. "Funny guy how's your arm and leg doing, after Gaara kicked your ass?". She returned making him grin. "Perfectly fine actually, good enough to fight your old Oto buddies". Karin glared more than grinned. "I bet Guy was happy that you could jerk him off again". Lee actually chuckled at that. "I believed in his mantra he was the person who took a loser like me in. Trained me worked me harder then I thought possible never gave me special treatment so many accuse him of. I wore his colours because I was proud of that". He started that spat on the ground.
"And as an added bonus, he didn't rape and kill innocent people unlike your master". Karin shrugged that blow off. "Not sure about that first part but he saved me from it. Were my experiments inhumane sure but unlike him. I only tested on the willing bastards and Konoha. Especially Konoha". She said with a chuckle angering them. "How about Suigetsu?". Tenten asked Karin shrugged. "If you can remember in that tiny bun headed brain of yours, he and I get along fine. Was I loyal yes, did I fuck that prick over royally without a hesitation the moment he dug up who I thought was my cousin of course. Because believe it or not I joined for safety, safety I immediately abandoned the moment I heard of Naruto". She explained making them frown as they moved on.
With Gaara and Sasuke.
As the two most talkative people walked in down the hall, It was actually Sasuke who broke the silence. "You're not going kill me now that we're alone are you?". He asked Gaara shrugged. "Are you even alive enough to kill?". Gaara returned Sasuke sighed depressed. "Not really I wake up after a full night of nightmares, in a cold sweat. Go to work kill people go home drink and do it all over again". He admitted as the entered an office. "I now have the ability to sleep. I still don't probably for the same reason I doubt if I tried it would be peaceful". He informed Sasuke nodded in understanding, Gaara was a sleep deprived sociopath back then. To see him now as a caring compassionate Kage, he would be haunted by his past.
"How do you do it? Between us how do you block it out?". Sasuke asked as they went to a different office the last one was burnt to nothing. "I don't I think about it every time I look at my people. Every time I chat with Mitsuri I think about what my old self would of done, probably kill her". He said looking down for a moment before continuing. "You a good man Gaara, and thank you for helping Karin". He said with a sad frown getting his attention. "I knew she was an Uzumaki obviously, I didn't care even for a minute. She was a throw away till that night till I had nothing but getting beaten. It wasn't the worst part either it was sitting there thinking about it". He rubbed his his missing eye and chuckled mirthlessly.
"When I betrayed Konoha I made a conscious choice to brake my bonds. I was trying to kill Naruto at the valley, then when I had him I couldn't do it". He looked down ashamed. "I wanted him to return the favour fight me to kill. Instead he took my Chidori to the chest and he hit my shoulder, he could have put me down right then and there but didn't. He never did no matter how many times he could, and I could never kill him". Gaara remained silent but was angry. "Then that night it all changed, and as usual Naruto didn't go down without a fight". Gaara turned and punched Sasuke in to a wall he slid down limply, staring at Gaara. "I understand you Sasuke but I don't like it". He informed Sasuke merely nodded getting up as they continued.
Shikamaru and Temari. The Leaders office.
Shikamaru was looking through the wall safe while Temari checked the desk. "How have you been?". He finally asked. "Good good enough anyway you?". She returned they both felt awkward. "Been heartbroken these days, but work distracts me". He informed rather up front making her frown, then sighed. "Look this isn't the time or place, no matter what Gaara thinks we should do. We're in enemy territory where there could be a group of killers walking around". She reminded making him sigh. "I wish I didn't do it you know". He informed. "But you did". She returned. "Under threat of treason and death, and still fought with Tsunade everyday till the mission happened. All of us kill him or all of face the consequences". He said getting her attention. "Now a future Hokage wants my head and the world's youngest billionaire wants to buy it off of him, and I'm thinking about is you". He said with a frown.
"Look this isn't the time, so work we'll talk later". She ordered Shikamaru looked through the wall safe and sighed pulling out a Suna file giving it to Temari. He didn't see anything for Konoha Kumo or Iwa. "Even Kiri's information is here. Guess he's keeping his clients clients happy". He stated making her glare. "What are you implying?". She demanded as he lite a cigarette. "That being Inari's partner is paying off". He said bluntly she glared harder, he sighed. "We know Inari hired him to make exploding money. I have a theory he's involved in the River Diemyo's assassination. You guys and Inari are on good terms so he's not going to fuck with you". He stated Temari could read him he doesn't know Kankuro's a customer.
"You really think Inari would plan an assassination on a Diemyo, everyone said it was an accident?". She asked she was suspicious herself. "It was way too convenient, he moved in directly after hearing the news. Sure he was focused on other projects and they're right next store but attacking an Iwa run bandit came working out of Rivers, after having words with Onoki himself. Then a few months later its ruler dies in an apparent and embarrassing accident I don't know". He said taking a puff. "He was smart enough not to get the job done, before or directly after setting himself up to look like a big hero destroying the camp with two of his militia. Then simply continuing on with his charities and running Wave. Perfect for an alibi". He stated Temari frowned. "What were you doing here to begin with?". She asked Shikamaru pointed to the girl still nailed to the wall. Temari's eyes widened silently. "Konohamaru passed us the information on her. She was working for Iwa with information on both our villages". He informed Temari met this girl before her and her brother she was vary loyal to Konohamaru. "Was she with anyone?". She asked carefully Shikamaru eyed her. "Foxtrot and Kurotsuchi". He informed she nodded in understanding. "There's nothing here". She said getting up bumping in to Shira. "Ma'am Hyuga-San found an out of place body". He informed confusing them as they followed the Suna ninja.
The basement.
Neji was scanning a corpse that was tied to a chair. He was a young man probably twenty? Possibly twenty-three tops. He looked sickly as well with a clean cut across his throat. Entering Temari's eyes widened she quickly hid her emotions. "What happened to him?". She asked Neji shrugged. "He doesn't have any torture marks my guess is a prisoner there's a file on the table, same name as the girl I killed". He informed Temari wanted to shake angrily but didn't. "So Foxtrot used him to make the girl upstairs Spy?". She asked Neji lowered his head slightly. "It's a reasonable conclusion yes". He said his voice cracked a bit before shaking the thoughts out of his head.
With Karin and the team.
Kiba held his ear. "I hear sobbing up a head". He informed. "I haven't found a single trap tripwire or even a wet floor to slip on, did they forget to set them? Or just didn't care?". Tenten asked aloud Lee and Karin walked passed them,kicking the door open to frightened and crying children. Lee walked they we huddled in a corner Lee wanted to kick himself for making a such an entrance, he approached slowly. "It's ok I'm sorry I scared you, we here to rescue you". Lee explained gently to the crying kids. One boy was crying in Tenten's arms. "Hey it's ok can you tell us what happened?". She asked hugging him tightly.
"I don't know one minute we were playing together the next Hanare-Chan grabbed us and rushed us in to the bunker". The young traumatized child explained. Hanare? Hanare? Why does that name sound familiar?". Kiba asked himself. "She ran out to fight we heard fighting then silence". A little girl informed they looked at each other, Kiba was then tackled from behind the assailant appeared to have an injured arm and severally beaten, but Kiba still got a slight cut to the neck. Tenten kicked the person in the head knocking them down for Kiba to roll over and pin.
"Hanare-Chan please stop". A child cried the two stopped their struggle, but the woman glared. "Leave them alone". She demanded Kiba glared picking her up and pushing her back a bit. It allowed everyone to get a good look at her. She was a fair skinned, slender young woman with brown eyes and straight, dull green hair. she was wearing her proper shinobi attire underneath which consisted of a brown flak jacket with a red mesh top underneath, black pants with bandages around her right thigh and calfs, brown shin guards, black fingerless gloves that stretched to the top of her biceps and black shinobi boots.
Her left arm was bleeding she sighed still holding the Kunai tightly. "What's Konoha doing here eh?". She asked everyone was as on guard as she was. "We're investigating and hunting for the bastard, responsible for this". Lee lied and if it was anyone else he was lying to they would have bought it. Unfortunately Hanare knew a lie when she heard one. "Don't lie to me I saw Foxtrot entering the leader's office, then saw an arrow the size of a spar fly in to her window. Then more of those guys in black showed up and started slaughtering my village an hour later. So again what the fuck is going on here?". She demanded dangerously Lee sighed. "Your fucking village that was supposed to be a neutral party had a spy we needed to kill, before they could sell information to Iwa for Foxtrot everything else we don't know. Now can we evacuate the kid please?". He asked making everyone frowned and the kids to cried. "Hanare I remember you now you infiltrate Konoha some years age". Kiba started Hanare sighed.
"And was released from being a spy because of it. All because your blond friend tried hooking me and Kakashi up". She informed the killers at this point just sighed. "Pretty much look I know you don't trust us, but if you'd lolikenwe can escort you and the kids out of her. We will need to interview though, but we can do it outside Konoha". Kiba promised Hanare looked at the kids. "No take us to Konoha I don't know where those bastards are, but Konoha must be safer then being out side of it". She ordered everyone look at each other. "You have nothing that interests me minus their safety". She assured. "Fine". Tenten agreed Hanare nodded the RC's looked at Karin who shrugged. Foxtrot wasn't going to bother Suna and she wanted to keep it that way.
Outside.
The teams all walked out Karin immediately went to Gaara and whispered to him. Gaara merely nodded in understanding he looked at the children then Hanare. He'll need to tell Inari about the kids for the Naruto Initiative but even though they're children, they're still from a village of spy's. He couldn't risk taking them even if he did feel like a dick because of it. "I'm going to join Konoha for a bit get the shit out of the way". Temari informed Baki stepped forward he'd be back up. Gaara nodded silently to this as he Karin Shira and Mitsuri left. Not before Shira and Lee exchange a glance at each other.
The walk.
Baki Temari Hanare and the children were in the centre being surrounded protectively by the Konoha forces. The Suna duo knew the score obviously if anything happened to them Gaara would be pissed. More importantly Inari would be pissed the 16 year old was proving to be more dangerous than a former Jinchuuriki Kage. Shikamaru was thankful Temari decided to join, it could at least provide closure. Everyone was silent on the trip.it was going to be a long walk back.
Tsunade's office.
Tsunade was going through reports luckily and sadly for her, Konohamaru true to his word was fixing Jiraiya's old spy network. Unfortunately the intelligence division was ordering a full investigation on said spies, logically enough they were concerned about losing them again. Realistically though spies aren't fans of a huge amount of people knowing who they are. Konohamaru was adamant about keeping them secret for this exact reason, both sides understood but neither side gave an inch. It didn't help either that the young man's age was put in to question as a spy master, to which his rebuttal was simply. "Make your own nation wide spy network then, if you can do it better". It didn't help matters either that Ino, would be Konohamaru's handler given the Shadow Strike and Yamanka Clan was Konoha's veteran intelligence gathering Clan and the teams speciality. He also still despised the Kyuubi Killers no matter how hard he worked on it.
Council chambers.
Konohamaru sat in front of the councillors feet lazily on the table smoking dangling from his mouth and arms crossed. Sai was sitting to Tsunade's right in his Root Commander robes a plan which robe and black over coat, Hiruzen used to wear. He was normally silent at these things.
The councillors were frowning they all knew he was Tsunade's pick for a successor. They knew the young man was smart dedicated loyal and strong, beating his legendary mentor at the Suna Chunin exams proved that. Hell even they wanted him as Hokage but the young man was putting everything on his own or his loyal teammates backs. The now newly and originally named Team Ebisu was a direct fuck you to the Raven Core and Shadow Strike, to which the once by the book Ebisu supported his young charges enough to let them. His logic to Tsunade was just as sound.
A spy network keeps them away from the front, after all as goofy as the glasses wearing man is, he was on team Choza with Guy and Genma. He saw war saw the power of the 8 gates first hand, he was no stranger to death. He originally helped Guy research Shade's gates with full support from Hiruzen and Tsunade. He knew his students were blooded given their attack on Oto with Suna Kiri and Konoha. He just wanted to spare them the true horrors of war while he could. Tsunade also knew everyone was severely testing the young man's patience, and when that reaches its limits his loyalty would be next.
Lighting his smoke a Konohamaru let his feet drop and leaned in elbows firmly on the table. "My spy's aren't fans of everyone knowing they're spy's, alm you'll do is make them quit". He informed Jiraiya was leaning against the wall in a dark corner, still looking like shit he nodded to this. He supposed Konohamaru's claim to Konoha's Spymaster. "We understand that Sarutobi-San but and I'm sorry for bringing this up, but a one man runned network has proven to have its flaws". Inoichi countered Konohamaru grinned. "I have three other people I fully trust to manage it, my spy's know them and trust them just as much". He explained then shrugged.
"Besides the network much like everything else these days only failed because of this council so why exactly, would I allow you to ruin all of my hard work?". Everyone frowned again Jiraiya nodded. Naruto's was supposed to inherit the network from him. He took Naruto to Jiriya's own hostess bars and brothels to make these introductions. He chuckled silently remembering all the times Naruto ran out blushing before Jiraiya could explain why he was really there. He kept it secret out of his own amusement and the madam's liked him well enough too. Besides the fact they thought his boy was cute when flustered and growing to be a rather handsome man. Naruto had no fucks given when when the girls were threatened, beating up plenty of rude customers and when the girls were testing him with secret's making Naruto give his word before telling him.
Naruto never once revealed anything he was proving to be a natural spymaster even with out knowing he was. He stifled a laugh when one of the girls told Naruto her idea for his shadow technique. Jiraiya laughed the entire way back to their hotel from the laughing brothel, with the red faced embarrassed and flustered blond. He knew for a fact Kushina would have murdered Jiraiya for that. Laughing even harder at Naruto's face when he asked. "How would you do it?". What Jiraiya would give to get those days back. "I understand your reasons Sarutobi-San but how can we believe you'd do the right thing, if one of your spy's betrays you?". Inoichi asked Konohamaru glared coldly at him.
"Plenty already did and are vary much dead my current one had every legitimate reason to, I understand her reasoning and the danger she posed to my other Spies and Konoha. If your idiot kids did their job properly it's not a problem anymore". Everyone was surprised at that one.
"One of my spy's Asami was recently blackmailed and kidnapped by Foxtrot along with her brother. I sent the Shadow strike and Raven Core after her. Along with orders to assassinate Foxtrot and Kurotsuchi if possible". He explained then glared. "I know it's hard for you to believe but loyalty and respect in the spy game can be rewarding, Asami is to be retired to Wave when and if she's rescued". He assured. "You went over my head?". Tsunade asked he shrugged her off. "You ordered me to come to this stupid meeting to steal my network. So I used that timeframe to start a mission". He informed Tsunade frowned. "When and if?". Tsume asked Konohamaru nodded.
"Captain Nara was adamant about killing her. I understand his reasoning mind you but Asami is loyal to a fault that fault being her baby bro. I won't sentence her to death for being loyal to the only person she had before me". He denied before sighing. "Asami isn't one of Jiraiya's old contacts either she's totally mine, and was a big help building my network with spy's of her own. She's a handler who reports only to me. We lose her my network in Iwa's back yard takes a massive hit". Everyone looked at each other Jiraiya's been there himself. "Does Captain Nara know that?". Shikaku asked Konohamaru shrugged. "It was in the file I gave him but I did vocally tell him not to he threatened to have me watched, when I wasn't a fan of his insight". He said calmly making everyone tense.
"What did you tell him to get that reaction out of him?". Shibi asked professionally Konohamaru glared. "I said he'd pay for it I deliberately left it vague, because it's all in the file. I don't think you realize this the spy game makes a person paranoid". He informed everyone was mentally praying Shikamaru would make the right call. Unfortunately though Shikamaru was trained quite the opposite way, where what he did was the right call. Everyone looked at Tsunade who frowned. "I'm sorry Sarutobi-San but by order of the Hokage and Council…". Konohamaru glared shutting her up. "I'll provide everything to Root Commander Sai then. He'll lead my network if the council swear it to be a triple S rank secret. Under penalty of death and only under the Commanders leadership and discretion".' He demanded Sai only reports to Tsunade if any of them get curious they're dead. Konohamaru was going to make them work for this. "I accept all responsibility Sarutobi-San". Sai assured Konohamaru nodded in thanks.
"Why Commander Sai I run the intelligence bureau?". Inoichi asked Konohamaru grinned. "Because you lack the vary thing your bureau is named for, and even I never thought I'd say this but I trust Root a hell of a lot more than I trust you. Either the Commander runs it or we lose it take it or leave it". He negotiated everyone frowned. "Vary well I vote yes". Inochi said in defeat everyone else nodded. "Agreed and I'm….". Konohamaru got up and walked to the door calmly opened it before slamming it behind him. Walking out in an ice cold rage he stopped for a moment. "Report". He ordered as a Root agent emerged from the shadows. "The teams returned with two Suna Shinobi a woman and a few children". He informed Konohamaru sighed in relief. "It's Hanare from Jomae, your agent nor her brother are there". He said disappearing again Konohamaru clenched his fist nails digging in to his skin making his palm bleed.
With his network gone he was now on paper anyway a regular Jonin again, so the Uchiha and Nara were his superior's again. He wasn't in the mood for explanations or apologies right now all he wanted to do was strangle Nara Shikamaru. With that bit of joy unobtainable to him at the moment he instead wanted to go home. He worked out of the building just in time to see his recuse party. "Temari Baki". He greeted the two frowned the kid didn't look happy. "I'm sorry kid". Temari apologized sadly Konohamaru just shrugged. "She was loyal brave and one of the strongest women I know, I just sent the wrong people to rescue her". He said giving everyone else a glare.
"If I were you two I wouldn't turn my back on them, they tend to stab you in it especially this fuck". He advised before walking away Shikamaru frowned he ashamed. "I knew the girl you killed". She informed Shikamaru looked down sadly. "Go do whatever you have to I want to see the kid". Baki ordered Temari nodded as they followed Konohamaru leaving everyone else. Everyone frowned but went to the council chambers to provide information. Walking down the street Konohamaru saw Anko. "Hey squirt". She greeted Konohamaru looked at her. "Yo Anko". He returned making her sigh. "Come with me". She ordered grabbing his arm dragging him in to the bar.
The Red Leaf.
Sitting at the bar Konohamaru drank some Saki, Anko was beside him he wasn't big on drinking but figured what the hell. "How predictable". He heard the person beside him say he was surprised. "Naraku?". He asked the red haired man nodded with a grin. "Sarutobi-Sama how was your super secret mission?". He asked with a grin. "What are you doing here?". He asked ignoring the question Naraku shrugged. "I'm part of the Naruto initiative, came to see if the orphanage was up to snuff. If you're referring to why I'm In a Shinobi only bar that's simple". He explained with a grin, "What makes it simple?". Anko asked Naraku shrugged. "I'm rich everyone else isn't". He said with a hearty laugh.
"Where's Iruka-Sensai?". He had to ask Naraku grinned. "In Wave with the wife and princess, had to hire some militia to get me here. He wasn't a fan of the place and he did kind of stab the white haired smelly guy so it was probably for the best". Naraku informed with a shrug Konohamaru nodded with a frown. "What did you mean by predictable?". He had to ask Naraku grinned. "Everyone around here drinks Saki I'm not a fan of it myself. I prefer whiskey". He informed with a grin passing a glass to both of them. Konohamaru and Anko shrugged and took a sip he coughed Anko sighed with enjoyment making Naraku laugh. "I think I'll stop drinking now". He informed with red cheeks Anko and Naraku laughter more.
When Temari and Baki walked in they raised an eyebrow at the red head. "You're the dude from Wave". Temari stated making him grin. "And you're the chick from Suna". He returned Baki glared making him chuckle. "But where are my manners Naraku". He introduced extending his hand Temari took it. "Temari this is my Sensai Baki". She returned Naraku ordered a couple more for the company. "So what exactly do you do Naraku-San?". Baki asked accepting the glass. "I'm an investor I started helping Wave and got a serious pay out". He informed with a grin. "How did you invest exactly?". Temari asked Naraku grinned. "Time patience money blood sweat and tears everything". He assured. "How come we never heard of you?". Konohamaru asked Naraku chuckled. "It's quiet simple lad. I prefer being anonymous in business but flashy in public. Especially now with a war coming up. How Inari does it I'll never know". He explained everyone couldn't but nodded as they drank and talked.
Council Chambers.
Everyone was getting ready to leave when the teams came in. Lee Ino Shino and Kiba decided to take the kids for ice cream. The kids loved Akamaru and for some reason Shino's bugs. Lee liked kids in general and Ino wanted to keep an eye on everyone. So only Hanare was with them. "Captain Nara". Tsunade greeted sitting back down everyone eyed Hanare suspiciously. "Hokage-Sama we came to report the complete annihilation of Jomae village". He informed shocking absolutely everyone. "What Fuck did you do?". Tsunade demanded. "They apparently came for an assassination on a spy, everything else was because of your Fox mask wearing friend". Hanare informed shocking everyone completely. "Wait you're Hanare". Inochi stated she nodded. "The only adult survivor in the attack". She informed shocking everyone as begin her tale.
Flashback.
Hanare was with all her young students, since she was found out to be spy, Hanare's usefulness as an infiltrator was now put in to question. So instead she was now a Sensai to the next generation. She loved the kid hated the job, Jomae village could be a dark place. The kids were orphans bought or stolen from around the nation. They would be trained to be solely loyal to the village with no concepts of friendship or familiarity. The were like Danzo's generation of Root only had emotions to make long term village infiltrations easier. She wanted them away from the village she heard all about Waves changes and wanted to take them there. Given that a few of them were actually sold by Gato back in those days as baby's.
Every night she'd planned a way to escape with them but was constantly under watch. She sat at an outside table to the ice cream parlour. When she heard a strange whistle in the air confusing looked up just in time to see a blur crash in to the window and a scream. She chose to ignore it she hated the leader anyway. It wasn't until Kurotsuchi ran off with a few of her men then Foxtrot emerged an hour later that she was getting worried. He called a Hawk gave it something then waited. His inviolable eyes turned to her it made her shake taking the kids she slowly walked away to the shelter. "If I were you I'd move faster". She heard and turned to see Foxtrot still standing in his spot looking at her. She did just that she locked the kids in and shook scared she then heard screaming and froze for a moment.
She ran out in to the fight the villagers weren't her problem the kids were. Exiting the tunnel she froze people in black were slaughtering everyone. Foxtrot killed three Shinobi then turned to her. She ran at brandishing a Kunai her dodged disarmed her and sliced her arm giving it a deep cut. He then kicked her through a door. Everyone went black afterwards,
End of flashback.
Everyone was stunned as Hanare sighed. "Why did he spare you?". Tsunade asked the former Jomae agent shrugged. "Not a clue Akari was a bitch anyway. She once told me the Family doesn't harm children pregnant women or new mothers. Maybe with all the kids he assumed I was their mother who knows". She informed everyone was thinking about it. "The Family?". Choza asked Hanare sighed. "That's what they apparently go by I know for a fact they fiercely loyal to their clients unless betrayed by them. Akari must of said something really stupid to make them do what they did". She assured everyone was stunned she was blaming her village for being attacked.
"Like what?". Tsume asked she merely shrugged. "Akari was fascinated with them. Jomae was a spy village information gathering is our specialty, but the family was on a whole other level". She took a breath then continued. "Akari was interested in three things, their identities how to manipulate them and of course the fabled old man they like referencing. My guess is some how she found out at least one of those things and that was all they needed". She informed with a shrug. "All things considered Jomae was a small village, we had five hundred total Shinobi Spies a veritable dot compared to other villages. Even Taki has two thousand Shinobi and a Jinchuuriki, it's why information was so important to our survival". She informed with a shrug.
"You attack us we could air your dirty laundry to Iwa Kumo Suna or Kiri and vice versa. You guys kill each other till you completely forget we started it. Unfortunately though it made plenty of us pretty smug to, especially Akari so much so that, the idea of blackmailing a group of few and superior info deal assassins. With a nasty habit of murdering anyone and everyone not smart enough to know to much except keeping quiet would be something she'd do". Tsunade now realizes why Kankuro was tightlipped now if she didn't figure it out before. "We understand Hamare-San but the question now is, what will you do know?". Shikaku asked she shrugged.
"I honestly don't care about Konoha anymore then I did Jormae. I'm hoping to meet Spymaster Konohamaru I'll provide everything I know about Iwa. On the condition he grants me an audience with Mayor Inari. Most of my students are orphans so his Naruto initiative would help them greatly". She offered everyone frowned. "I'm sorry to inform you Konohamaru stepped down as spy master. I've taken his place and I'm on good terms with Inari-Sama". Sai informed Hanare frowned. "You're an excellent liar but everyone else blow your cover on the stepping down part". She informed Sai shrugged uncaring.
"Either way I can help you myself or make introductions up to you". Sai allowed Hanare sighed. "You probably get this a lot but I remember your Legendary Uzumaki well and heard the stories. He was a cute kid vary compassionate and amusing as well as being insanely powerful, I'd like to see what his only student is all about". Sai nodded getting up. "I'll personally escort you there as a show of goodwill I'll even do it alone". He assured she merely grinned. "You saw him already didn't you?". Sai asked she nodded. "He looked like he was going to kill your kids here. Like I said you're an excellent liar but you're just lack the backing". She advised Sai shrugged.
"Whatever let's go". He ordered ignoring everyone else but spared Ino a quick glance. "Sooo…WHY THE FUCK ISN'T KONOHAMARU SPYMASTER ANYMORE?". Lee shouted making everyone jump. "My guess is he's too young or wait he has a grudge, against the Clan kids and it's for their safety". Tenten stated Neji sighed he knew his girlfriend enough to know what she meant and agreed. "Why was he so pissed about the Spy he did order a kill if we couldn't rescue her right?". Sasuke asked Shikamaru frowned silently everyone looked at him. "He did order it right?". Lee asked at the silence Lee sighed. "God damn it". He said calmly before walking out Neji and Tenten joined followed by everyone else except the two Captains, who stood there quietly. Tsunade sighed standing up and leaving she was more than done for today.
The Red Leaf.
Everyone was laughing and drinking while Naraku told jokes and stories. "So there we were hammered from day time drinking, me and my brother doc. When he saw a saw a rather cute looking from behind anyway black hair girl". He start then looked at Anko with a grin. "Doc fancied himself a ladies man. So with all the charisma of a dumpster fire he went to for it. Tripped hit the ground got up and continued". Everyone was laughing already. "Tapped her shoulder and said. "Hey baby how about a drink". Naraku said with a drunken voice. "When she turned around it turned out to be Orochimaru of all people". Everyone was stunned Anko leaned in as Naraku laughed hard.
"Good thing something was wrong with his arms because Doc screamed at the top of his lungs "FUCK YOU'RE AN UGLY WOMAN NEVERMIND". Then shook some silver haired dudes hand and said. "She's all yours". And ran off with me over his shoulder I had no idea what the fuck was going on". Anko spat her drink out crying with laughter with everyone else in the bar. Even Baki had a tear in his eye as Naraku drank. When Sai walked in with Hanare everyone calmed down Konohamaru whipped a tear from his eye. "Onii-San". He greeted Sai just grinned but was always internally happy to be called that.
"Hey kid this is Hanare". He introduced Hanare bowed. "Sarutobi-Sama". She greeted. "Konohamaru's fine what can I do for you?". He asked Sai tilted his head to the booth so the young man followed. Naraku looked at his watch a sighed. "Oh well sorry to say but I got to go". He informed everyone sighed. "To bad brighten up my day thanks for that". Temari assured Naraku grinned. "Temari-Sama I'm a married man". He said making everyone laugh as she flipped him off with a grin. Naraku laughed shaking her hand and left.
Drinking a bit more when Shikamaru finally showed up Temari sighed leaving Baki to a booth. "So?". She started. "So". Shikamaru returned then sighed. "Where to starters I miss you". He informed Temari sighed. "You already said that along with what happened with Naruto". She said Shikamaru sighed and nodded. "And I said I knew the girl you killed, look Shika I miss you too believe it or not. Still I'm pissed that every time I see you now it has something to do with someone I like being dead". She said coldly Shikamaru sighed in understanding. "What can I do to prove to you I'm worthy of your love again?". He asked she frowned. "You can't do anything but wait". She ordered before getting up and leaving with Baki. He saw Konohamaru talking with Hanare and noticed him grinning at him for a moments before returning to his conversation.
Once it was over Hanare shook his hand and left with a grinning Sai. Konohamaru walked over to his table and glared. "I said you'd pay you crippled my Iwa network, killed another one of my and Temari's friends and Sai is running my network now. Someone who hates you as much as I do. You should have read the fucking file and shouldn't have taken the easy way out". He took Shikamaru's drink and splashed it in his face. "I may have to work for you again but you're far from my leader you prick". He assured walking off Shikamaru looked down shaking more.
Hanare walked around Konoha the kids were going to stay at the new Orphanage. So she really had nothing to do now that Sai gave her some freedom. "FUCK YOU TO". She heard and her eyes widened a hammered Kakashi fell to the ground his world was spinning. Hanare walked over bending to see him. "Kakashi". She greeted. "Fuck off". He ordered rolling to his side. "Missed you too". She said sarcastically picking him up and carrying him. "Where do you live?". She asked. "Konoha". He informed she saw Asuma who sighed and waved for her to fallow.
Shadow strike. Kusagakure. Mujo and Oonki alliance meeting. Ge
Seeing as Gaara angered the heads of Kusagakure with his unwillingness to hand over Uzumaki Karin, and despite Mujo's own anger at the Kusa council for their disgraceful ideas for the young Uzumaki girl. Fighting in Gaara defence he was out numbered and forced in to talks with Onoki. After hearing this Tsunade needed Kusagakure off the bored entirely. Seeing as Onoki was scheduled to meet Mujo in Kusa. It was the most ideal place for them. Tsunade felt bad knowing Mujo would be blamed for the lack of defence but things like this happened. In a war like this sympathy wasn't allowed. So now Shikamaru Shino Neji and Ino were behind enemy lines.
They were on a hill while Neji scanned the building. Shikamaru had shadows covering in them. "See anything interesting Neji?". Ino asked Neji found the meeting room. "I see them Onoki his skin is covered with rock armour. Do you have anything that can pierce it Shino?". Shino shook his head. "Nothing that can do it quickly. If we were going for the entire room possibly but If Mujo's harmed we may risk the Blood Prison's seals deactivating". Shino informed neutrally. "Guess we're doing this the fun way Neji any vents?". Ino asked.
"One to the east of the building should get you in the office. Frame job?". Neji asked Ino nodded sticking her finger up for one of Shino's beetles to land on. Shikamaru was behind her. "Mind transfer". Ino thought then fell into Shikamaru's arms as the beetle flew off. "She really started liking bugs when she found out she could fly". Neji said Shino nodded. "I have a beetle guiding her to the vent. Let's hope this works you've been lacking on new strategies these days sir". Shino said Shikamaru was a little annoyed. "Why should I fix what isn't broken? Or is Sai just making you a nitpicking asshole now?". Shikamaru asked Shino stared at him neutrally.
"I'm merely saying this is a high priority assassination. Both of our targets are surrounded by their most loyal men. That won't just move with out being ordered to. They were also somehow briefed on our existence. A frame job even if you make a, while yelling hail Iwa is a bit obvious that it was a Shadow Strike job". Shino explained Neji nodded in agreement Shikamaru sighed. "I see your point fine once this is over, we'll sit down and make something different". Shikamaru assured they nodded.
In the meeting room.
Ino crawled along the vents she looked around and saw an Iwa Shinobi walking over to the sink to get some water. "I understand Onoki-Dono. Still even if Kasu is indeed angry with Konoha. It is only one traitor in my mind nothing to fight a war over". Mujo said Onoki raised an eyebrow. "You honestly expect me to believe you won't take action after what that boy said?". Onoki asked Mujo shrugged uncaring. "I don't know or care what Iwa does behind closed doors. I on the other run a prison filled with the worst of the worst. The fact my leaders signed off on the raping of a woman In general especially just for breeding sack disgusts me. So everything Konohamaru said as ashamed as I'm am is valid". His own men nodded in agreement Mujo raised his loyal men properly.
Onoki sighed angrily at the concept or Mujo's lack of anger towards Konoha no one knew, Ino sent the information through the beetle line sending it straight to Shino. "Mujo's not biting for war it would be smarter to wait for him to leave". Shino suggested Shikamaru thought about and agreed. Turning his high frequency radio on. "Boss this is Miner Forty-Niner Rock's chipping with no gold at the end. Requesting permission for night shift to mine in another location?". Shikamaru asked hating the shit coding in the messages. "Forty-niner that is denied no one leaves till this investment pays off". He heard Shikaku inform something about this was off.
"Boss I can assure you that….". Shikamaru was cut off. "Forty-Niner it's either find gold or go the fuck home with no pay". Shikaku ordered angrily Shikamaru glared. "Copy that". He said angrily if something fucks up he's braking his fathers jaw. "Do it anyway". Shikamaru ordered Shino and Neji were pissed but transferred orders to Ino. Getting the information Ino buzzed angrily but found a target a Kusa Shinobi next to Akatsuchi. Ino transferred in to him. She was doing this long enough the person didn't even flinch anymore. She stood to attention counting her blessings the guy had a knife behind his belt. "Fine if Kusa doesn't want to join stay out of it all together". Onoki ordered Mujo nodded in understanding as everyone stood up Ino pulled the knife and struck. She was immediately grabbed by a grinning Akatsuchi.
"Fuck Viper was caught". Neji said worried. "See Mujo I told you Konoha doesn't care". Oonki informed the stunned Blood prison leader. "So Yamanka Ino the Shadow Strike's personal Viper". Onoki greeted with a grin. Ino immediately left the body she couldn't leave shocking her.
"Unfortunately my new handy man fixed this room just for you". Onoki continued to mock Ino was panicking she jumped back to the beetles. She felt the vent heating up fire was running towards her. She jumped from beetle to beetle to speed up the vent exit was closing. If the body she had was killed so was she and if she couldn't escape the building she was fucked. Going long range pouring her mental chakra in to it she jumped flying in to it. The flap closed and she reentered her body.
Ino shot up gasping. "We have to run now". She ordered Shino picked her up when flash bangs destroyed wiped out Shikamaru's shadows. "What the fuck I didn't see anyone around us. I still don't". Neji said angrily. "Never mind run". Shikamaru ordered as they bolted at to speed Iwa saw the flashes and charged.
The border.
The Shadow Strike we're getting tired. "HQ GET US SOME FUCKING BACK UP". Shikamaru shouted in to his ear piece. "Sorry Shika HQ isn't responsible for fuck ups". Shikaku informed with a chuckle Shikamaru was pissed. They ran across the border still being chanced. Shikamaru turned to use the moon light to help his Shadows. Unfortunately it only got him blinded by flash bangs. They were cornered Iwa smiled ready to kill till bolt hit their foreheads and a giant dog pounced on another. "Shikaku I'm going to fucking-". He was cut off. "Oh Shika you're being awfully troublesome now, does daddy have ground you with no Shogi?". Shikaku mocked. "Who the fuck are you?". He demanded. "Who do you think buddy?". Shikamaru's eyes widened.
"Anyway thanks for the alliance, now my clients has a way in and you can't trust anyone". He said with a laugh cutting the link. "Stag Owl Viper Beetle one of you answer me SHIKA". His father shouted. "The missions a failure test all communications and…". He stopped when he saw his worried father appear with everyone else. "Gotcha again". Foxtrot mocked Shikamaru pulled off the radio throw it to the ground and stomped on it. "TEST ALL COMMUNICATIONS THE MISSIONS FUCKED". He finally shouted walking away angrily. Foxtrot was watching through binoculars grinning at them. "That guy has some issues". He said through the radios, stifling a laugh as the other Shadow Strike ditching their radios. Now was the time for war.
