Spider-Man kept staring at himself in the reflection. "This suit, I feel, it's more powerful. Where did this come from? The shuttle? Could this have been where the disturbance came from? What about those claws?" He jumped across to the other building effortlessly. "Incredible! That was, I can't believe it!" Spider-Man then leaped up the building in a single jump over reaching and shot out a webline, just by thinking of it swinging through the streets faster than ever before.
This is outstanding! The speed, the strength. It's exactly what I was dreaming of! This suit, it's giving me exactly what I wanted! He looked down below and spotted a formulier enemy, it was Boomerang. Again. This guy escaped prison again? You've gotta be kidding me, he's going to wish he stayed in prison. Peter smiled under the mask landing in front of him fearless.
"Spider-Man! You always interfere! How do you always know!" Boomerang cried. "And why aren't you in the red and blue? Too dull? Do you have a stealth suit now!?"
"Yeah, something like that." Spider-Man replied as his spider-sense went off, he easily avoided a boomerang and webbed it, grabbing a hold of it. Blowing it up in his hands to his surprise. "I barely felt it. I literally destroyed it with my bare hands! Couldn't do that before, nice moves."
Boomerang sweated nervously and threw out every one of these boomerangs which had no effect as Spider-Man moved faster than ever before.
"Come on, is that all you've got!" Spidey remarked feeling pretty cocky.
"Uh. Yeah." He confessed.
He leaped up and kicked him backwards to the ground, which wasn't necessary. "That wasn't a worth wild test of my new found power! You're a complete joke of a super villain!" Spider-Man then webbed him to the wall and left enjoying this newly discovered power from the suit, feeling maybe being concerned about it wasn't worth it. Though was intending on seeing Doctor Conners after having a rest.
Working late at night elsewhere was Norman Osborn. He was expecting to get his hands on the Promethium X once the shuttle landed that day, but now everything was completely out of control. Speaking with Doctor Mendel Stromm he was expressing this anger, who had returned to work. Looking worse for wear, now having some prosthetics after the exposition from The Hobgoblin attack.
"This could've changed everything! Assuming the power source actually worked, imagine what we could've done!" Norman exclaimed, putting his hand on his face.
"Do we know who stole it at the very least?" Stromm asked.
Norman sighed. "No, nobody knows yet! Hydro Man, as he's called. That man's hired help, there are many people who'd pay to steal it. There is one chance."
"No! We couldn't possibly risk using your altar." Stromm said fearfully. "There has gotta be another way of doing this! Finding Promethium X. The Goblin is dangerous."
"And very effective, he can get the job done! He could make the underworld talk until finding that Promethium X. Of course you're correct, at what cost? I feel The Goblin, getting stronger and growing more powerful. He's convinced me of a lot of things I never dreamed of doing, never had the will."
Stromm nodded. "Indeed, it seems The Goblin is sizing more control everytime you let him out! What exactly can be done?"
"I've been trying to think of a solution, but he always distracts me, trying to keep it from being created. Obviously, he wants to ensure his own survival!" Osborn sighed. "I feel him now, wanting to break free. Ahhh, just give me some more time!"
He started laughing. "Enough of the games Osborn! You need that Promethium X! And I'll be getting it for you! Nobody is going to stop our success! Not even you Doctor Stromm, trying to suppress me won't do any good. Make yourself useful and prepare my weaponry! It's going to be a long day!" Goblin grinned.
Back with Peter, he awoke still finding his incredible strength and that the suit was on his Spider-Man costume now. "That wasn't a dream! You're real, the power. I really want to see what you can do against a real super villain!" He leaped onto the ceiling excited. "This is fantastic! Amazing! Spectacular! Sensteninel! With you, crime fighting would be so much easier. Of course, I really have gotta check this out at Doctor Conner's. I hate not being sure about this. Really I just want to believe this is the universe throwing me a handy dandy bone. Doubtful."
Spider-Man had no choice but to put in the blacksuit and swung off, heading through the city at great speed. "It's like taking the train!" He then spotted a car driving out of control. "Well unless another superhero in blue and red shows up, it looks like it's a job for Spider-Man! New and improved!" Easily he webbed into the car using not as much strength as before to bring it to a stop, leaping into it accidentally shattering the windows on the car. "Okay, that was a harder landing than intended."
The driver came out. "Thank you Spider-Man! Someone cut my brakes, good thing I've got insurance huh?"
"I'd personally be more concerned about somebody cutting your brakes, but yeah having some car insurance is always helpful. Sorry about the windows." Spider-Man went to swing off.
"And a nice new suit!" They exclaimed as he left.
"Thanks! Definitely enjoying it."
Shortly, he arrived at Doctor Conner's lab. It wasn't a day of classes, so fortunately he was alone at the lab.
"Spider-Man? What are you doing here? And what's with the new suit?" Conners immediately asked, surprised.
"Actually, I came about this suit." Spidey showed off its stretchy capabilities not to mention who gooey it was.
"Astonishing! Where did you get that suit? Did you create it yourself?"
Spidey chuckled to himself. "Well, I wish I could tell you I was that smart. Actually this suit came to me after I was teleported to an alien planet and my old suit got rid, so I found this one."
"Are you serious?" Conner asked, looking puzzled.
"No, I am serious about this being an alien however. It hitched a ride on John Jameson's space shuttle, then hitched onto me. So far, it's saved my life and made me a lot stronger. And faster." Spider-Man explained.
He looked incredibly surprised and sat down. "I'm looking at an alien! Never in all my life would I have imagined this!"
Spidey nodded in agreement. "Same Doc. Listen, I just needed to know if you could maybe run some tests? Get a sample hopefully? I've got no idea what this is or why it chose me. Or why it's enhancing my spider powers."
"Of course, deducing its intentions are important, I'm glad you came to me. Must've been a difficult decision." Conners replied.
"Not exactly, you seem like a trustworthy person. I just have a good feeling. Here, take a cut of the suit, quickly I don't think it's going to like this." Spider-Man motioned him to take a chance, which the Doc did getting a sample quickly putting it behind some glass as it struggled to move away.
"My god, it's moving! Even when taken apart, it's still got a form of sentience. Clawing to break free, or perhaps return to the larger source." Conners observed aloud.
Spider-Man nodded, staring at it. "How long until you figure out what I'm wearing?"
"Hard to say, it could take a day. More or less, depending on my findings. This could literally not have a way of identifying it." Conners explained.
"Yeah makes sense, we don't exactly have a scientific way of figuring out where an alien came from, do we?" Spider-Man sighed. "Until then, looks like I'm going to keep wearing it. At least it's making me more powerful. I can be more useful."
"It could be dangerous, perhaps you shouldn't be fighting crime until we figure out what exactly is on your body." Conners suggested looking concerned.
"Unfortunately Doctor Conners, crime never waits around and one night, it always makes the difference I always want to help whenever I can. People need me, so I'm going to risk it." Spider-Man declared and left.
As he did, Conners looked at the sample finding it very interesting and split it into two putting the other one away. Thinking it could be useful depending on his findings.
Elsewhere, Eddie was at home, watching the coverage with the events from the previous night on the bridge, when he received a call from his doctor's office.
"Mr Brock, I wanted to give you the test result we talked about." The doctor began saying, with not a promising tone.
"What's wrong? Nothing too serious I hope. Is it my insurance?" Eddie questioned rubbing his head feeling frustrated by thinking it could be that.
"No, I'm sorry. You have cancer Mr. Brock. It's severe. Terminal. We can test again, but the results aren't promising. There is a slim chance of chemo offering you more time, months at best, that's unfortunately all we can do." The doctor replied.
Eddie dropped his phone and fell to the ground, letting out a horrible yell.
Spider-Man was swinging, when MJ called him, it completely slipped his mind to call her about the recent event of finding this mysterious alien.
"Peter? What's going on? I saw you wearing a new costume? Why are you wearing that and where did it come from? And why haven't you talked to me yet?" She rightfully asked him, wanting answers.
"Um, not sure if you're going to even believe me MJ." Peter admitted.
"Come on, what could it be? An alien?" She replied, making a joke.
He paused. "Um, actually. Yes. An alien has hitched a ride onto my Spider-Man suit and it's enhancing all my abilities."
"Oh, you're serious. There is an alien currently on you? Like for real?" She questioned.
"Yep. Pretty much. It was when I was saving the shuttle, I thought I was going to die, but somehow it saved my life. Now I've just been continuing to wear it, it feels incredible and it's not like I've found any way to remove it either." He responded.
She was understandably not sure how to respond to that. "So you casually just found an alien life form and are completely chill right now?"
"Hey now, I am totally freaking out internally. It's just the suit. The power it's giving me I beat Boomerang without even breaking a sweat! I usually do, but this time it was effortless it was like fighting him in my sleep! I feel invincible!" Peter exclaimed and did a powerful flip in the air, making himself fly up onto a building and leap right back off it feeling the joy of the power. "Don't worry, I asked Doctor Conner to take a sample. He seems like a trustworthy person, I'm sure he'll help me out if anything goes wrong. Until then, I've got so much power, I can't say anything can threaten me! I want to patrol all day long! Show the crocks of the city, the new and improved me!"
"Just be careful Peter, think this though." She reminded him.
He sighed. "I will be, don't worry MJ. I've got this covered." Spider-Man hung up and kept on his petrol in the city.
Elsewhere, a less heroic figure was on the loose creeping through the underworld while wearing his sinister grinning mask, while having a trench coat on and hat. Stepping forward to a club and walking right up to the bouncer who noticed the weird looking guy grinning at him. "Hey! Get outta here freak it isn't halloween!" The bouncer pushed him. "You deef? Get out this hood or I'm going to break you in two wacko. This is a prostagus club you really think you're getting in there?"
The Green Goblin laughed. "Why, yes. I believe I am."
That big man tried throwing a punch, but Goblin easily grabbed it, creaking his fist and threw him through the front doors brushing himself off. "My word! What an awful way to treat a man looking for information!" He walked inside. "Does anyone else want to take a crack at this goblin? A poor mistake if you do."
A few more goons clearly weren't paying attention and tried to attack him, which made The Green Goblin yawn as he picked up the first throwing them across the room, slapped another knocking them out and punched a third in the gut making them fall over having their face turn red from pain. One last guy tried to fight him and Goblin grabbed him, patting him on the head. "Have you dreamed of flying?"
"What?" The thug asked bewildered and was thrown into the ceiling getting stuck up there shaking to break loose.
"A sad state of affairs around here, now. May I speak to whomever is in charge?" He then asked politely.
A guy stepped out. "Sure made a mess of this place, who are you?"
"Call me, Goblin, The Green Goblin! And you are? I know you aren't The Foreigner and I asked to speak to the boss." He replied looking unhappy.
"Foreigner isn't here, having a vacation with his wife. I was watching the club and now I'm going to be in major trouble because of you." The thug replied.
Goblin approached laughing softly. "I wasn't looking to speak to the hired help. Oh well, tell me, have you heard of Promethium X? Did your boss steal it?"
"No, it was another crime boss. Goes by the name of Hammerhead. We had no interest in grabbing it. What would we even do with it? Are you going to make his life miserable?" The thug replied and questioned.
The Green Goblin smiled. "Oh yes, I most certainly am!"
Later into the day, back with Peter he was easily spending the entire day fighting against criminals stopping crimes effortlessly. The power it was giving and the endurance it was giving, made it so much simpler stopping all the crime around New York. Thugs robbing, driving recklessly, heck if any super villains mistakenly showed their faces, they'd all be paying the price. He hadn't tested it with fire however, but he was certain it'd be fine.
All of a sudden he noticed quite a strange sight as a full moon was lumming in the sky. Did I just see a werewolf? I think I've been awake too long. Just to be safe, I'm going to chase that. He thought to himself heading after the creature seeming to be leaping across rooftops incredibly fast, for the normal red and blue Spidey, he might've lost this monster, however for the new and improved one. Nothing would escape him.
Spider-Man webbed onto the creature and brought it to a hult. It turned around, with its claws and very sharp teeth. It was in fact a werewolf.
"You! The claws on the ship, it must've been you who caused the crash!" I'm talking to an alien werewolf, this is my life. It tried to swing at him while he was thinking of the insane circumstances in front of him. The suit however moved him without him even having to think about it. "Hey, thanks. You're really fast aren't you?" Peter remarked out loud and then cracked the werewolf in the face. "I'll take it from here, suit. Always wanted to stop a werewolf!" Spider-Man then continued fighting it, webbing its mouth shut. "Or perhaps we can come to a peaceful end? Can you talk?"
The werewolf seemed to decline this and launched at Spidey and tried to slash the suit, which didn't work as it grew back.
"Uncalled for." Spider-Man punched it so hard, it fell off the building crashing into the ground below, but got up running away. "Woah, a little too strong." He realized and chased after it. "Here boy, you're going to the pound."
The werewolf leaped at Spider-Man again, who easily avoided it.
A homeless person started yelling and ran away, which triggered the wolf's attention chasing after the person, nearly getting to them. If not for Spider-Man's black suit, it probably would've killed them. The webbing was so strong it managed to pull it right back into his welcoming fist.
Spider-Man was feeling more angry now giving it a beat down, breaking some of its teeth bounding down on it. "You've really gotten on my nerves now, trying to kill innocent people! I've usually held back my punches, but with you. Not a chance, I've been called a freak a lot, but you are the real deal!"
The werewolf used his talking to its own advantage, breaking free from his grip trying to bite into Spidey, which was quite painful. He immediately punched it backwards, sending it back. "Fine no more Mr. Nice Spider-Man." He grit his teeth and kicked it's face hard, then processing to web onto its face, pulling it in for a massive punch knocking it to the ground again. Now having no mercy beating it into the ground making a dent in the concrete. Noticing a pendant as well, ripping it right out and tossing it away. "This gives you power, big boy? No more!" Spider-Man kept beating down on him not playing games.
A car zoomed towards Spidey and a couple police cars followed along. The driver got out and started yelling at Spider-Man. "That's my son! Menace! I should've known you'd try taking away my family first chance you get!" It was JJ who yelled at him.
This made Peter snap out of his blind unusual rage realizing, this werewolf was John Jameson, he was beating him nearly to death. I didn't know. I should've thought about this better, what did I do? Before he could think about it more, Captain Watanabe and some of the officers raised their weapons at him.
"Yes! Take him down! He nearly killed my son! That menace needs to be stopped!" Jameson yelled out waving his hands, as his son started to turn back to normal confirming what he said as true. "Oh my god, John!" He raced to him hugging his son, he wasn't looking well at all after the beating even in his human form, John looked as if he was clinging to life.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know!"
Watanabe looked at John. "I'd guess you did. Spider-Man." She remarked and did fire a warning shot at him, which he didn't understand, but decided to not hang away to discover what was going on.
Spider-Man escaped, putting it all behind him, but this wasn't over.
Later, he returned home in a panic after an hour or 2 being outside, not even daring to think about what happened until getting inside finally having a moment to think. I should've guessed this! The claw marks, John's suit ripped to shreds, not a mark on him. Why didn't I piece that together? I used my fists over my head! I should've helped John, great now JJ's going to hate me even more! What am I going to do now? I've gotta make this up somehow. I've gotta fix things, my reputation. And this suit is going to help us. Me. I mean me.
After thinking about it, he called MJ, getting her caught up on what happened.
"That wasn't your fault!" She immediately said after he explained.
"JJ is going to be pissed. He seemed furious with me! Understandably so quite frankly, after what I did. I always have used my head, but this time I didn't do that! If John dies, that's on me." Peer expressed freaking out.
MJ took a deep breath. "It's going to be fine, everything is going to work out. What's the worst that can happen now?"
As if on cue, Aunt May knocked on his door. He was concerned as his suit was still on, however it managed to charge its appearance into normal clothing.
"Peter, are you decent?"
"Yeah! What is it Aunt May? I was on the phone with Mary Jane. Everything okay?"
Aunt May shook her head. "I don't think you should go anywhere near that Spider-Man, Mr. Jameson just put a bounty on his head! It's on the news right now!"
He rushed down stairs to see for himself. Indeed it was true, JJ was on the tv.
"That's right! I'm putting a 2 million dollar bounty on the head of Spider-Man! He's been causing this city enough trouble, now after what he did to my son. It's the final straw! He needs to be brought to justice! Once and for all! I want him to become public enemy number one and stay there until he's captured! Most importantly, unmasked!" JJ cried out looking proud of himself.
Peter went back to the phone. "MJ, I think it got worse."
Elsewhere, the trouble going on wasn't over yet.
Hammerhead was in his hideout, when he heard some ruckus occurring. "What in the name of- you idiots! What are you m-" He paused upon seeing the source of it, The Green Goblin discovered his location and beat up most of his people without breaking a sweat. "What are you supposed to be?"
"Me? Call me, The Green Goblin. And this Goblin is mighty angry. Along with embarrassed by this operation, see I thought you were so hardcore tough as nails crime boss, Mr. Hammerhead. Bang on some nails would you!" He laughed. "I digress. My goal here was to rob you and embarrass you! Why not take it a step further?"
Hammerhead looked bewildered by this freak. "If you're going to kill me, get it over with chump! I'm not afraid of you!"
"Oh but I won't kill you and you are most certainly afraid of me. After all, I'm the new boss! Does anybody disagree with my position as a leader?" He looked around the room and every scared thug nodded their heads rapidly bowing down to The Goblin, even Hammerhead relented doing the same. "Fantastic! Now, the first order of business is giving me the rock. The next." He started laughing maniacally thinking of his intentions. "I think it is going to be a blast!"
Thank you for reading the beginning of the black suit saga. I admit, it felt crazy just being here and it was harder to write this chapter being here after all this time. Hope the beginning delivered, as I'm sure you can tell. I'm just getting started.
First off, I will say it might be harder for me writing a jerk Peter. I did start to show that with how badly he nearly beat the "werewolf" or his easy defeat of Boomerang. I want of course the black suit to affect his life quite heavily. It most definitely will. I just might not go as far as I could.
Secondly, I wanted to say that yes, I did bring in a werewolf lol. I felt it was important to have Spider-Man piss off JJ royally bad, so the best way seemed to be to use Man-Wolf having him nearly kill him, because thanks to that blind rage all he saw was a monster that needed to be taken down. I hope it wasn't too jaring having that show up during the beginning of this arc. It's a bit more outlandish, but I wanted to introduce that and use the chance it gave me. Surely it'll be a lot of trouble for poor Spidey, the aftermath.
Finally, yes The Green Goblin has returned! I wanted to have him around for this arc, as I felt it made sense to face off against his most dangerous foe, while being on this power trip. I'm really looking forward to where I'm heading with Gobbie and Spider-Man. It's going to be fun.
As usual the above was from months before.
I hope this story ends up being good, I do apologize for how long it's all taken to get this series moving along. I guess ironically the time of the release was after Spider-Man 2 Ps5's release which also had the black suit. Wasn't my plan just weirdly worked out that way. Anyhow. I loved the game, and wished it hit more of a milestone for this moment, as when Spider-Man ps4 originally came out it greatly effected this series and pushed me to keep going. Same with the Miles game. I've loved all the games, though idk how well that'll age. Seems like everyone has already turned on Spider-Man Ps5 at least vocal people anyway. I mean, it's certainly not perfect. Still it was an achievement with how much stuff was in there. Even though probably some resources should've been put in other places. It's interesting and too much to discuss in this little section. (Life is pain if no dlc ends up happening)
Quick note to C.G
I'm sorry to say I have no updates on Batwoman's progress yet, I've had the depression arrow hit me so hard. So, basically my writing has hit a major roadblock again. I'm remaining hopefully that I can get back on the Batwoman settle soon and get the next episode out much faster.
