I decided to "skip" the graduation ceremony since there wasn't much content to write about anyway. If a good amount of you are agains't that decision, I'll edit something in later on.
Please enjoy.
True to her words, Ruby went to Yang's graduation ceremony. Of course, her rather passionate photoshoot of her sister in a dress almost made them late, but they still managed to arrive right as the event started. Needless to say that the raven-haired woman agreed with the modifications brought by their father. She wasn't surprised when Taiyang told her that their uncle, Qrow Branwen, would not be present since he is on official huntsmen business. Ruby understood now more than ever, how this worked.
What did surprise her though, was the celebration that awaited her when they entered the gymnasium, where the ceremony took place. Apparently, the news that the celebrity had been seen in a bullhead to the island yesterday had spread rather quickly and the school decided to throw a little something special to welcome her back. Fortunately, it didn't last long; just enough to allow most students and teachers to interact with the silver-eyed woman. Once the event was underway, she made sure to take as many pictures of her blonde sister as possible much to the sibling's embarrassment. To end the ceremony, the principal asked her if she would like to give a closing statement which she gracefully accepted.
The celebrity had a lot on her mind, a lot of experience and warnings that she wanted to tell them; but as she looked at all of them, at her sister, she started to understand her father's feelings. While they may have been eighteen years old, they were still children, as she was. Their eyes filled with determination and hope. Could she really afford to take that away from them? For the sake of a future that might never happen? No, she might regret it down the line, but only time will tell. In the end, she gave a generic speech about bravery, kindness, and pride before leaving with her family back home.
The sisters had a flight to Beacon to catch on Sunday, but for now, the eldest decided to cook a feast to celebrate the blonde's graduation. She had always been the better cook of the family, but they were blown away by how incredible everything she made had tasted. It seemed that fighting was not the only thing she did during her travels. Once done, they had eaten so much that they immediately went to bed and almost slept through the entirety of their Saturday had their father not forced them to pack.
At long last, Sunday came. Taiyang had drove them to the airport and helped them stow away their belongings.
"You've been back for barely four days and I already have to let you go. When did you start being so cruel to your old man?" Joked Taiyang as he brought Ruby into a hug.
"I'll be sure to call you whenever I can. Besides, it's not like I'm going to be gone for as long this time." She replied, returning the gesture. "We'll be back for Summer break and the end of each year too."
They separated yet her father held her by the shoulders and gazed deep into her eyes. "Be proud of who you are, Ruby. Because this father wouldn't want anyone else than the you of today as a daughter."
Silver-eyes widened and moistened as she hugged him once more. "I love you, dad."
"Love you too, rosebud." He hushed before turning towards his youngest. "Don't make too much trouble for your sister alright?"
"Hey! I haven't caused trouble for anyone in years!" Pouted the blonde as she crossed her arms.
"Oh really? Then what about Thursday?" Teased Ruby making her sister wince.
"Or that time this rather popular bar in Vale was said to be thrashed by an unknown blonde woman?" Followed their father causing the young adult to wince as if a weight had been suddenly added to her back.
"I hate you both..." She sulked before being suddenly embraced by Taiyang.
"I'm so proud of you." He said in a low voice. "Now, go get 'hem!"
The sisters smiled wide as they headed inside the aircraft, waving their father goodbye as they did so.
The man waved back as the airship took off, not stopping to do so until it was out of his sight. "If only you could see how your little rose grew, Summer." He sighed before walking away, back to his car.
"If you ask me, I'd say that this is a great time for a nap." Suggested the silver-eyed woman as she searched for a place to sit down. The ship was quite crowded, having already picked up students from Vale and some surrounding regions before Patch.
Yang grew nervous at the growing amount of stares they were getting. "Uh, sis? How about we just find a quiet corner instead?"
Turning her head back, she raised an eyebrow at the blonde. "That could work, you seem nervous though. Is something wrong?"
"Don't get me wrong. I love a couple of stares, but this is a bit intense." Admitted the blonde as she got closer to the raven-haired woman, bowing her head as she did so.
"Is that...?"
"No way..."
"The news did say that she was in Vale, but here?"
"Why is she on the same ship as us though?"
"Who's that with her?"
"W-what? No, you go first!"
The celebrity nodded her head before smiling down at her sister. "I see, they can be a bit overwhelming, right?"
She received an insecure nod as an answer. With a shake of her head and an amused smile, Ruby grabbed her sister, lifted her up and hugged her back to her chest, wrapping her drape around them as she did so.
"W-what are you doing!" Loudly whispered the blonde, trying to squirm away from the older woman's grib as a massive blush took over her face.
"Well, if we're going to be acquaintances for the next four years, I figured that I should make it clear that I have the cutest little sister in the world!" Exclaimed the silver-eyed woman. "She's single, by the way!"
"Ruby!" Screamed Yang, trying to hit her sister. However, considering their position, it didn't help much.
"Sister?"
"Has she ever mentioned that in her interviews?"
"They don't even look similar in the slightest."
"I would pay so much to be in her place right now."
While Yang attempted to hide her face with her hands, Ruby marched on, having tuned out the surrounding gossip.
"That place looks nice." Muttered the celebrity as she approached an empty bench which faced the side windows of the ship.
Not bothering to ask the blonde's opinion, she sat down with a breathtaking grace that had the onlookers stunned for a moment as she set her sister down on her lap. She leaned against the backrest, forcing the young adult to rest against her as she adjusted her arms to a more comfortable hold.
"Is this better?" She whispered, running her thumbs along the brawler's skin in a comforting manner.
While her blush was still present, Yang nodded before snuggling a bit closer. " Dang it, Ruby. Why does it have to be so warm inside that drape of yours. "
"You can rest now, I'll wake you up when we're near Beacon." Followed the older sister before softly humming some relaxing tunes.
Although she tried to fight it, even though she knew that the whole ship was practically staring at them, the blonde couldn't stop herself from closing her eyes as her consciousness faded away. " I love you... "
The last thing she heard was a soft, melodic giggle. "I love you too, my sunny little dragon." Followed by more humming.
Yang could feel something gently stirring her awake as a warm hand cupped her chin. "Wake up, sunflower. We're almost there."
She groaned and snuggled into her sister's shoulder. "Five more minutes?"
Yang froze when she heard a chuckle that wasn't Ruby's. "Jeez, I feel like I just got transported back five years into the past."
The brawler's eyes shot open as she swiftly sat up, a massive blush decorating her face once more. "Since when have you guys been here?!" She asked, noticing that a couple of her friends from Signal were sitting around her and her sister.
"A while now, but you were already asleep by then." Replied one of them with a teasing tone.
"I'd be surprised that you didn't wake up, if I didn't know any better." Said another.
The brawler turned towards her sister. "Why didn't you wake me up?"
The older woman chuckled and held the blonde's chin before kissing her forehead. "You looked like you needed the sleep." She then gave a couple of pats against the youngest sibling's backside. "Now, get up. I'd like to strech my legs a bit before we land."
Yang's friends had quite a bit of fun teasing her as the ship landed. Most of the comments centered around the fact that she still had her sister complex. " If only they knew... "
Once landed, the whole ship, Yang's friends included, had gone silent mysteriously. Curious, the blonde followed one of her slack-jawed friend's gaze only to follow their lead. Unaware of the passengers' stares, Ruby was stretching her arms into the air while bending backwards giving a magnificent view of her breasts as they heaved, constricted by her skintight suit. The silver-eyed woman then turned towards her. "Shall we go?"
"U-uh, y-yeah." Stuttered Yang as Ruby grabbed her hand and guided her to the boarding platform.
Any students who stood in their path, stepped aside, making the older woman confused. "What's wrong you guys? It's your first year at Beacon! I was expecting more enthusiasm than that."
This seemed to snap them out of their stupor as they all slowly left the airship. The sisters resumed their walk down the platform as they engaged in small talk.
"Isn't this exciting, Yang? Your first year at Beacon!" Ruby exclaimed, tugging the blonde's hand.
"Let's not forget that you're here too." Replied the younger sister, rolling her eyes. As if anyone could forget the silver-eyed woman's presence.
Nonetheless, she scoffed in faux annoyance. "Fine, fine. Our first year at Beacon." Her eyes than landed on a crowd that gathered at the end of the platform. "Oh dear, looks like I'm going to have to deal with some fans again today."
Yang raised an eyebrow. "That wasn't obvious to you back in the ship?"
She received a playful flick to her nose. "No one likes a smart ass, lil' sis'. Unfortunately, I was too busy taking care of my sleeping sister to worry about that."
The brawler groaned as she let go of her sister's hand. "Welp, good luck with that."
Before she could leave, she was hugged from behind by the celebrity. "I'll need to visit the headmaster's office to have that discussion. See you in the amphitheater?"
Yang nodded, but then raised an eyebrow. "How do you know where we're supposed to go?"
Ruby released her from the hug before raising an eyebrow in turn. "I may be older than you, but I can still use the internet y'know?"
A blonde student rushed past them, his hand covering his mouth as he beelined for the nearest trash can.
"Poor kid. Hopefully he'll manage to desensitize himself out of that by the end of the year." Commented the older sibling before heading towards the group of fans waiting for her.
Yang chuckled as she saw her sister become all excited as she shook hands and took a couple of pictures with some of the students before apologizing since she needed to go, much to their disappointment.
"Takes care of that I guess." She mumbled to herself when she suddenly tripped on a student's luggage.
"What are you doing?" aggressively questioned the unknown voice of a woman.
"Sorry about that. I wasn't looking where I was-" Tried to apologize the blonde before being interrupted by the luggage owner.
"Sorry? Do you have any idea of the damage you could have caused?!" She asked, blue eyes glaring into lilac.
Yang's gaze went down to her feet as a dust canister had rolled up to her. "Oh shit. Yeah, that could have been pretty bad." She said kneeling down to pick the vial up. "That's some pretty nice looking dust though."
The white haired woman scoffed as she snatched the object from the brawler's hand. "Of course it is. This comes straight from my family's quarry, I'll have you know."
Recognition flashed into Yang's eyes. "Oh, you're a Schnee? I thought you looked familiar."
The woman was flabbergasted by that reply. "How did you not realize that until now?!"
The blonde shrugged. "Can't say I'm into politics." She extended a hand. "Nice to meet you though, name's Yang."
Blue eyes widened at the name. "Did... did you say Yang?"
The brawler lowered her hand as she raised an eyebrow. "Uh, yeah? Y'know? 'Cause that's my name?"
The Schnee analyzed Yang's appearance before adopting a nervous stance as she quickly stored the canister back into her luggage. "Weiss. Any chance that this whole interaction could be kept a secret from your sister?"
A surprised expression appeared on Yang's face. "I didn't expect my name to be out for the public so fast. I understand being her fan, but you guys could tone it down a bit."
Weiss shook her hands in panic. "No, no, no. You have it all wrong! I was tutored by Miss Rose while she stayed in Atlas."
The blonde hummed doubtfully. "I doubt that Ruby would have accepted to tutor someone with an attitude like that."
The Schnee blushed as she played with her fingers. "She didn't like it either. That was the first lesson."
"So, what was that all about?" Asked the brawler gesturing to the entirety of Weiss's being.
The white haired woman glared at her ex-tutor's sister while straightening her back. "I'm here representing the Schnee's name. I cannot just let anyone walk all over me under such circumstances."
"Mhm. Well princess, I'd suggest telling your butlers over there to find a place to put all that luggage before you end up late to the headmaster's speech." Said Yang as she walked towards the nearest map.
As she took her distance, she could hear Weiss politely give orders to her servants. " You sure chose a weird one to teach sis. Then again, I don't have much ground to stand on. "
Finally having found a map of the place, Yang carefully planned out her route when the sound of someone throwing up caught her attention. She followed the noise until she found the man from earlier, still vomiting his guts out into a trash can.
"I'm surprised you still got anything left in there after so long, vomit boy." She teased while leaning on a nearby wall.
The blond man stood up and wiped his mouth with his sleeve to Yang's disgust, yet she understood given his circumstances, that there weren't any better alternatives currently.
"I'll have you know, that motion sickness is a lot more common than people think." He said while sitting down on the floor.
The brawler raised her hands in surrender. "Alright, just making sure you weren't dying over here. Name's Yang. I'd shake your hand but I'd prefer to have mine come back clean if I can help it."
He chuckled as he stood up. "Jaune Arc. Short, sweet and it rolls off the tongue. Ladies love it."
Yang winced before shaking her head. "You might want to remove that last part from your introduction, buddy. Confidence is one thing, but that was just painful. Last name's Xiao Long by the way."
Jaune's shoulders sagged at the criticism. "Right, anyway, do you have any idea of where we're supposed to go? I... don't remember."
The brawler shook her head at how much of a mess this man was, yet she also grinned in amusement since, in a way, that was a charm in itself. "Just follow me, I'll help you out this time."
"You think there's going to be a food court?" He asked, hopeful. When Yang answered with a raised eyebrow, his shoulders dropped once more. "Right, stupid question..."
They walked in silence the rest of the way to the amphitheater.
