Legion's Future Season 01 Episode 02
01 Someone, or something, had attacked the President of the United Planets, but it was believed to have been a ploy to draw out the Legion of Superheroes. They'd discovered the machines that were attacking had been reminicent of the villain Imperiex, though clearly a downgrade from what they were capable of. The theory was proven true when suddenly an alarm had gone off and they'd pulled up the video screen to see just what was going on. More drones and vehicles had appeared causing trouble for the city.
"They wanna draw us out so badly, fine. Let's pay them a visit that they'll never forget." Timber Wolf, the acting leader of the Legion, called to the others who nodded in response.
"Be careful out there, all of you." The President whom they'd been in a meeting with called out telling them all to stay safe.
"Don't worry Mom, we're the professionals." Phatom Girl stated hugging the president before turning and leaving to join the others out in the field.
The Legionaires that weren't currently away on mission had gathered in the area of town where the drones and vehicles had been attacking and began to cut them down wanting to take them down as quickly as possible. They managed to destroy most of the tech but that was when the red and green humanoid one appeared again and blasted them with his laser eyes shooting Lightning Lad as he does so sending him crashing backwards.
"Ow." The Electrokinetic hero spoke while getting up and coughing in pain. "Okay, let's not do that again." He'd stated and then blasted at them sending the red and green stranger into a wall.
"How exactly are we supposed to take this guy down when we could barely handle Imperiex?" The large guy who spoke to Timber Wolf earlier questioned while having his body inflated and crashing into some of the few straggling drones that they hadn't taken out yet.
"I'm not sure Bouncing Boy, but we'll find a way. If anyone can it's Malware Seven." Timber Wolf answered back clawing at a drone and sending it crashing down before grabbing a large chung of debris and throwing it at the red and green guy.
"Mission piramiters acceptable." The Red and green guy spoke showing that he'd still been prepared to take them out as we see a strange hole open up in the air as if the energys coming from it were acting as a walk way. They were then tapped on the shoulder and when they turned around he got punched in the face being sent crashing into the corner of e partially demolished building, though thankfully the people had already been evacuated.
"No. Way. Seriously, tell me it's really you." Phantom Girl spoke excitedly as we see a man with dark hair and a red and blue costume standing where the red and green guy had just been.
"It's really me Phantom Girl. Explinations later, now's the time for fighting." The Man answered back punching his fist turning to where the red and green guy was getting up.
"Mission Piramiters no longer acceptable. Mission aborted." They'd stated trying to fly away as more drones had appeared to cover their escape and they'd vanished in the ensuing chaos of the fight.
"Great, they managed to escape." Lightning Lad sighed while blasting the drones to take them down as they were causing problems.
"Hey, at least they aren't trying to straight up kill you at the moment." The Man in red and blue stated creaing energy shields on the back of his hands that stuck out like brass knuckles and fley off slashing at the drones and cutting through several at once.
"So Amalgam what exactly did happen?" Timber Wolf questioned clawing through multiple drones while asking.
"Well to make a complicated stor short." The Amalgam guy spoke before shooting lasers from his eyes that cut down a wave of drones at once. "We were gathering and taking down the remnants of Imperiex's forces in my time and the most devout follower managed to escape to this time with several drones."
"So why didn't you chase them immediately?" Malware 7 questioned them about not coming to help them sooner.
"I was, problem is when you got a base the size of the watchtower filled with drones all trying to kill you, that tends to be a little difficult. Even if you've got help to do so." He'd answered back stating that he did actually come there immediately the moment he got the chance to do so. "1-0-N-S-N says hello by the way."
"So this mysterious follower of Imperiex got a name?" The acting leader Timber Wolf questioned his old friend and teammate.
"It calls itself Zodiac, I'm not sure if this thing is even to the same level of sentience as Imperiex or not, but they are dangerous." Amalgam answered back as they all continued attacking the drones and taking them out of the equation once more.
Eventually they'd been able to cut down the wave and clean up the mess created by what was left so that Malware 7 may be able to do something with the leftover scrap, even if that meant just melting it down as scrap metal to act as casing for something else and nothing more. While Mal was trying to discover anything useful from the tech Amalgam had been telling them the story of what happened and how they got to that point.
"And so, once Changeling and I finished taking down the army of drones and other things I came here immediately and left her in charge of protecting everyone while I'm away." Amalgam stated to the group about what happened.
"Left her in charge huh, so Changeling is a woman?" Saturn Girl questioned about that last part of what he was saying.
"Well, she's around the same age as the rest of us." He'd then answered back about his new ally from the future being a young woman. "She was the only person who the Duotrix reacted to."
"Damn, so even that far into the future the Tennyson genetics are still kicking around, that's impressive." Lightning Lad stated about what they'd been told.
The alarms then began to go off with Malware 7's voice calling out to the others stating "All stationed Legionaires, we need to mobilized, I've detected an invasion force headed in this direction."
"Well, you heard the man, let's go." Timber Wolf stated as they'd gotten up from their seats and were preparing to handle whatever is happening now.
They'd gone to see what the heck was going on and had started fighting against the various drones that had appeared, the same type as they'd fought twice earlier that day alone. However something new appeared along with the red and green man now called Zodiac, a larger humanoid robot that was ready to fight.
"You heroes think you've won, but I'm going to destroy you all." The humanoid robot stated to them surprising the group.
"Who is this one now?" Timber Wolf questioned who this new robot was while slashing his way through the drones.
"It sounds like Astral, but they were destroyed by Changeling and I when we fought in my time." Amalgam stated about the voice coming out of them.
"Not Astral." Zodiac stated to them floating next to the droid "Digitized mind and voice program. Copy in new body."
"Well, you'll excuse me while I break them again." Amaglam then stated back and charged forwards with the shields on his hands striking at the droid sending them crashing backwards onto the street.
"Mission Piramiters acceptable." The red and green droid stated to them and began to blast at them with their laser eyes while the others would use the drones around as shielding to take them down.
"Times like this I wish we still had Albedo watching our backs." Bouncing Boy stated ricocheting off of some of the drones.
"That's for sure, he always knew how to throw a party." Triplicate Girl agreed as she'd split into three and two of them had swung around and thrown the third crashing into another drone.
"Albedo and Party, not two words I would have considered putting together." Lucy stated as she'd created clay scythes form her body that were incredbly sharp and sliced through the drones that were around her ind a spinning fan blade motion.
"Trust me, Albedo knew how to have a real good time." Phantom Girl stated to Lucy while phasing through the drones and ripping out pieces of their computer systems as she does so.
"Well, I suppose you'd know that better than anyone right?" Amalgam caleld back teasingly while taking both hands and putting them together striking at this copy of Astral that he was fighting in the new drone body.
This actually caused Phantom Girl to turn bright red and phase through the ground embarrassed at the teasing on Amalgam's part, and Lucy just seemed confused asking "Am I missing something here?"
"Yes" The entirety of the other Legionaires that weren't on offworld missions stated at the exact same time, all except for Phantom Girl who was still hiding herself due to embarrassment and trying to calm herself down enough to get back out there and help.
The Legionaires continued to mow down the drones while occasionally helping to battle Astral and Zodiac, and eventually the latter of the two stated "Mission Piramiters no longer acceptable. Mission Aborted." while flying away taking the Astral bot with him as the drones covered their escape from the battle field.
When Phantom Girl had come out of hiding she'd helped to take down the rest of the drones and states "I really wish you all would stop teasing me."
