It was a really hot and hazy morning on Sodor, Henry was pulling his goods train as always, he was about to reach the corner of Gordon's hill when he noticed an old house about two miles west of Gordon's hill,a sense of dread filled his firebox there was something about that house that give him the chills every time he looks at it. He had heard stories about that house, about the ghost of a man who was murdered by his brother over their fathers will. Or the terrifying she beast that lives in the wheat field, or the giant serpent that dwells in the cornfield. Each of those stories were told by Gordon to scare him and the engines. He feels silly for being scared of an old house because Gordon was making up stories just to scare him.

"C'mon ol boy, pay that house no attention." Said Henry's driver, Henry slowly puffed away from the sighting. The next stop he saw Thomas waiting for him, not really happy with him. "Where were you Henry, you were two minutes late." Thomas asked annoyed. "I got a little sidetracked." Replied Henry, "Let me guess, you were scared of the old house again." Thomas hastily asked, Henry nodded. "Don't let Gordon's stories get to you, he himself doesn't know what happened at that house." Thomas hastily replied and puffed away, leaving Henry feeling even more silly. Henry sighed and puffed away.

Back Tidmouth shed, all the other James and Tomas were teasing Henry for being a scaredy-engine of some old house. "Ohhhh I'm a spooky ghost!" James laughed, "I'm a sscarry sserpent" teased Thomas. Henry blushed in embarrassment "I'm not a scaredy-engine" muttered Henry. "Really? If you're so brave Henry, I bet you won't last one night near that house." James replied with a smirk, "I can too!" Yelled Henry "And I'll show you, and prove you wrong James." Henry said as he puffed away. Gordon was a little concerned about Henry, sure he knows Henry can be easily scared, but he would never let stories get to his head so easily.

Henry reached the entrance of the house, he was very nervous, but he wanted to prove James wrong so he pressed on. The closer he got to the house, the more details he noticed, the porch was decaying as if time and weather did it's job on the porch,an old looking rocking-chair that has termites all over it, the wooden pillars holding the house together, looks like it's about to cave in on itself. The door was all rusty, and the windows were covered with layers upon layers of spiderwebs "Man this is a house full of ugly bugs." One of his drivers said, It was almost twelve o clock, so far nothing, Henry felt so confident and proud to tell James that he was wrong, until he looked up at the right window, he saw a light and along with it a ghostly figure looking down at him, Henry was frightened, but he can't back down now, he only had to stay one night,so he kept making eye contact with the ghostly figure about in it's thirties,it's empty sockets in place of eyes looked so sorrowful. It's hair was moving like seaweed without any wind blowing.

Henry can't help but feel a twinge of sympathy towards the ghost, and just like the wind, it was gone, and was somehow in front of him and his crew,Henry was startled and tried to back away, but his wheel was stuck on a rock, "What do you want from me!" Henry cried out to the spirit, "Justice." It replied sounding like a gust of wind but he can tell it was a males voice, "Don't hurt me!" Henry whimpered, he opened his eye and saw the ghost looking at him with sorrowful eyes, Henry was looking back at the spirit, the more he stared at it the more sorry he felt for the spirit. He was about to ask what happened to the spirt, as if it had read his mind. He explained that his young niece had murdered him out of cold blood and buried him in the wheat field along with his pet cat in the corn field and how it became a cold case. "What do you want us to do?" Asked Henry. "I demand justice for me and my cat." The ghost replied. "How are we going to find your niece?" Asked Henry's driver, the ghost then gave his driver a ring, "When you see a woman with red hair, brown eyes, and a beauty mark on her left cheek, the ring will disappear and appear on her ring finger and will send a burning sensation on her finger she'll have to admit to her crime to make pain stop, then when she is arrested, tell the police to dig up my body and my cats body, so we can be buried properly, then we can finally find peace." The spirit explained and started to walk back into the house "We'll make sure you get the justice you deserve." Said Henry's driver.

The next day Henry and his driver are looking out for the spirit's niece, then they saw a woman about in her late twenties, with the red hair and beauty mark, Henry's driver felt around his pockets to feel the ring, it was gone. They started to hear the woman screaming in pain and rolled around holding her left hand, "It burns! It burns! Make it stop!" She cried trying to get the ring off her finger, but it wouldn't budge, soon the police got involved and tried to subdue the woman, then she started to cry out again "I'm sorry uncle Earnest! I'm sorry! I just wanted grandfather's will!" She cried, the police were shocked, when the confession came out the burning stopped.

The police looked through the cold case files, and they found one case that had the name Earnest, apparently he had a nineteen year old niece, who had a history of bad blood with him, abusing his cat, pulling tuffs of its fur, kicking it and even starved it, when he was away. Not willing to help out with their grandfather and neglected him. Later, she was convicted of, Murder, animal cruelty, neglect, and third degree man slaughter. She showed where she hid the bodies, and they were buried properly, and even got a memorial service.

Henry went back to Tidmouth shed, "I told you I can do it James." He said smiling, "Who's the scaredy-engine now?" He teased, James just rolled his eyes. Henry turned the corner of Gordon's hill, and looked at the house, he didn't feel scared of it anymore, instead he felt lightheaded. Knowing Earnest can finally Rest In Peace. He arrived at the station on time.
