I looked at the destroyed, wooden, mess that I had built last night. It was already bad, but the hole in the side from a creeper explosion made it worse. I salvaged what blocks I could and started my journey for the day.
Today's goals: find a sheep, make a bed, make a house. It seemed easy. Surely I could accomplish such a simple task. I chose a direction and started walking to see what I could find.
I used some of the stone I still had and made a stone axe. I started chopping down a tree, when all of a sudden, something pushed me. I got out my sword and turned around, only to see, a sheep. The last sheep I needed, and perhaps the last in this cruel world. I ran at him as fast as I could and swung my sword violently hitting it 2 times before it doubled over and evaporated, leaving behind 2 pieces of mutton, and at last, a block of wool.
I quickly placed down my crafting table and made a bed. I was relieved that I wouldn't have to suffer through those torturous nights anymore. Excited at the prospect of finally being able to sleep, I continued on.
I turned around but that's when I saw it. A baby sheep. I knew in my cold, dead heart that I had just killed his mother. A part of me wanted to kill him too, but I knew I was too good for that. Right then and there I made a decision that would alter the course of this world forever. I adopted my companion, Vanilla Bean the Sheep. Together, we would journey in this evil world, facing whatever might come at us.
I had a piece of wheat from the past day, and I lured Bean around behind me. I wandered a bit longer until I saw a hill in the middle of a flat area with a lake to one side. This was where I would build my base. I imagined what the potential this space had. My house on the hill, automatic farms and massive buildings surrounding it.
I made some fences and built a pen for Bean. I went to gather materials to build a starter home. All that was around was oak trees. Tomorrow I would go looking for spruce. I also broke the grass blades around me, looking for seeds. Bean would need food and so would I.
Night quickly approached and I started heading back to Bean. He looked up at me as I approached. I fed him the piece of wheat I had. I crafted a ho and planted the seeds next to the lake.
I placed down my bed next to Bean's pen. I closed my eyes and I could see the megabase filling up the entire area, with Bean right in the middle. I pictured this glorious place as I drifted off to sleep.
