Chapter One: A New Skater
"Yes mom I'm alright. I'm just getting some frozen yogurt from this place in town. I know you want me to be careful. I'll be home later. I'm gonna head to this skatepark I saw earlier. I'll see you later. Bye." Alexis says as she hangs up her phone while holding a cup of frozen yogurt as she exits a building.
"Oof!" Alexis and another person say in union as the other person crashes into Alexis sending them both to the ground with a thud.
"Ow." Alexis says as she rubs her head before seeing a boy in a blue shirt stand up with a skateboard.
"Sorry. My bad. I swirved to avoid hitting a dog and I guess I ended up crashing into you instead." The boy says as he offers Alexis his hand and helps her up.
"It's alright. I would have likely done the same knowing my luck." Alexis says.
"You skate?" The boy asks as he sees Alexis pick up her board.
"Yeah. I just got a new board actually for my birthday right before I moved here." Alexis says happily.
"So you're the new girl that moved in across from Emo Crys." The boy says as Alexis looks at him curiously.
"Who?" Alexis asks curiously.
"Emo Crys. He's a friend of mine and part of my skate group." The boy says.
"Oh. You mean the kid who was watching me through the window of his house. Lovely. No offense." Alexis says as she realizes who the boy is talking about.
"No worries. Emo tends to be awkward around meeting new people. Especially girls. He really means no harm and is pretty cool when you get to know him." The boy says as Alexis chuckles.
"I'll take your word for it. So what's your name?" Alexis asks curiously.
"My name is Spitball. Yours?" The boy asks curiously.
"Alexis." Alexis says kindly.
"And you just moved here? Where did you live before?" Spitball asks.
"Colorado." Alexis says.
"Wow. That's cool." Spitball says.
"Thanks." Alexis says as she smiles.
"Well it's nice to meet you Alexis. I'm sorry about crashing into you and costing you your froyo." Spitball says as he sees the frozen yogurt on the ground.
"My what?" Alexis asks confusedly.
"Your frozen yogurt." Spitball says.
"Oh. I've never heard someone call it that." Alexis says as she chuckles.
"We call it that all the time here." Spitball says as he chuckles.
"I see." Alexis says
"Would you permit me to buy you another one? Call it my apologies for crashing into you like that and my welcome to the city gesture." Spitball says kindly.
"Sure. But only if I can buy you one. I don't like people doing things like that without trying to repay the kindness." Alexis says kindly.
"Sure. I guess I got some time." Spitball says as he follows Alexis inside the frozen yogurt store.
*Timeskip*
"Thanks again for buying me some froyo. You didn't have to." Spitball says as he and Alexis come out of the frozen yogurt store after eating their frozen yogurt.
"You're welcome. Besides you bought me one so it's only fair." Alexis says as she smiles kindly.
"I guess it is. So have you had the chance to meet many people here yet?" Spitball asks as Alexis shakes her head.
"Not really. I was actually going to head to the skatepark to see if I could meet some kids that I could hang around and be friends with." Alexis says.
"Why don't you come with me and meet my group the Wild Grinders. They're all pretty cool and I'm sure they'd like to meet you." Spitball says.
"You sure? I don't wanna intrude." Alexis says unsurely.
"I'm positive. Besides I was heading to the skatepark to meet them anyway and I can show you the way. I'm guessing you aren't familiar with where everything is yet?" Spitball asks as Alexis gives a sheepish smile.
"Not really. So that would actually be really nice and helpful." Alexis says kindly.
"Great. Follow me." Spitball says as he and Alexis skate off.
