Later the next day as Alexis is in her backyard under a tree sketching in her notebook she stops noticing a shadow and looks up to see Spitball.

"Spitball? What are you doing here?" Alexis asks curiously.

"I came over because I wanted to talk if that's okay?" Spitball asks.

"Oh uh sure. What's on your mind?" Alexis asks as Spitball sits beside her on the ground.

"Well I wanted to apologize for how I acted when I was a zombie. I understand that was probably awkward for you." Spitball says as Alexis blushes at the thought.

"Oh. Uh no worries on that. We've always been close friends. I don't mind it. I mean it's not like you tried to kiss me or anything. So I take it you remember everything that happened when you were a zombie?" Alexis asks curiously as Spitball nods.

"Yeah. It was like I was stuck in my mind while my body had a mind of it's own. It was definitely strange." Spitball says.

"I imagine it was. But don't worry. I'm not upset." Alexis says as she smiles kindly.

"I'm glad you're not. I was worried you would be." Spitball says in relief.

"Why would you be worried that I would be mad? I know it wasn't your fault." Alexis says.

"Actually it kinda was." Spitball says as he looks away.

"What do you mean?" Alexis asks curiously.

"Alexis I've wanted to tell you this for a while and I'm sorry it came out the way it did but I feel you should know the truth. I like you. I care about you as more than a friend. We've been so close for so long I just didn't want to say something and things be awkward or ruin what we have. And I guess when I became a zombie those thoughts and feelings came out the only way they could. When I didn't have control over my own words and body. I'm sorry." Spitball says apologetically.

"Wait. So all of that pretty girl and gift behavior when you were a zombie wasn't all just the zombie talk after all?" Alexis asks as Spitball nods.

"Yeah. Listen if you're mad now that I've told you this I'll leave. I understand if you're mad." Spitball says as he looks down.

"Actually I'm not mad." Alexis says.

"You're not?" Spitball asks confusedly as he looks at Alexis.

"No. I actually like you that way too." Alexis says as she smiles and blushes.

"You do?" Spitball asks as Alexis nods.

"Yeah." Alexis says happily.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Spitball asks curiously.

"For the same reasons as you. I was worried how it would change things between us." Alexis says.

"Oh." Spitball says.

"Yeah." Alexis says.

"I wish you would have told me. I know I'm not always as honest about how I feel or what I'm doing as I should be but if I'd known this sooner I would have told you how I felt." Spitball says.

"I'm sorry." Alexis says as she looks down slightly.

"Don't be. It's alright. But if you're up for it I wouldn't mind making up for lost time." Spitball says as he smiles.

"And what do you have in mind?" Alexis asks as she chuckles and smiles.

"Maybe going for froyo like when we first met together and then going skating? Just the two of us?... As more than friends?" Spitball asks as he blushes.

"I'd like that. That sounds nice. Let me go grab my board and then we'll head out." Alexis says as she and Spitball stand up.

"Sure." Spitball says as Alexis heads inside and grabs her board before coming back out.

"Let's go." Alexis says happily as she and Spitball head out.
