AN: Behold! My Magnum Opus! Two of my favorite franchises, mixed together in an amalgamation of action, comedy, romance, and adventure! A journey between two worlds and their collision, all circling around the best Main Character to have ever existed! This is what you've been waiting for!
…Huh? You actually came to this story to ask about How Cliché?
…You're wondering when it's getting updated?
…You don't really care about this story?
Oh.
[Congratulations! You died!]
Staring at the screen in front of my face, I gave a smile. "Heh, yeah. That was pretty funny." It wasn't the smartest, to eat that two month expired sandwich, but I imagine that the person that'd find my body on the toilet would probably have a good chuckle or two. Focusing back on the floating blue message in front of me, I asked, "Hey, can you change to green?"
[Yes!]
In an instant, the blue screen changed to a forest green one. "Cool!" I took a quick look at the void around me and… yep. Nothing. "So… what now?"
[You have been chosen to wield the might powers of The Gamer! With it, you can-!]
"Yeah yeah, I already know the whole gist. I'm a loser, I've read plenty of the same stories. Can you tell me who chose me to be a Gamer?" When silence was all I received, I sighed. "Yeah, that's what I thought. Alright, what're we doing first?"
[Select Your World!]
In front of my eyes ten different options pop up, each one wildly different from the last.
Naruto
One Piece
Bleach
My Hero Academia
Evangelion
One Punch Man
Re:Zero
Familiar of Zero
Rozen Maiden
Monster Musume
[Please Select One World!]
Holy hell those are some wacky choices. Like... Rozen Maiden? That's a deep pull from my memory! And Monster Musume?! Beautiful monster women everywhere! I gave the options an impressed nod and muttered, "Gotta admit, these are all damn fine choices…" Except for Re:Zero. That world is just plain cruel.
"Well, Re:Zero is off the list… So is Rozen Maiden since I barely have any recollection of it." I dismissed the two, and their names grayed out. I blinked. "Huh. Cool." Looking back at the choices, I said, "Get rid of Familiar of Zero and Evangelion for the same reason. It's been too long since I've watched either." Two more were removed. "Get rid of Bleach, never watched it." Bleach was grayed out. "Remove My Hero, I was never that much of a fan." MHA was gone. "Guess I should remove Monster Musume too. It's too… well, it's too slice-of-life for me. I want more adventure in this second life!" Monster Musume was removed, and all that was left was Naruto, One Piece, and One Punch Man. "Hm. Get rid of Naruto. I don't feel like playing ninja politics." Seriously, with guys like Danzo, Orochimaru, and Madara mucking about, I really didn't want to end up in any of their hands. Naruto was grayed out.
I sighed, looking between two of my favorite stories. One Piece, or One Punch Man? "Hmm…"
After what felt like an hour but was probably five minutes, I shrugged. "Fuck it." And pressed both of them at the same time. I was fine with either one, so I decided to choose both and let the game decide. Pretty smart, huh?
Well, I thought it was until the screen froze.
[You have chosen One P_!]
It… It froze. I blinked. "Uh, game? System?… Anyone? I uh, I think I broke it?" I was admittedly a little worried. Has this ever happened before? Surely someone did something like this before me, right?
[You have chosen One P_!]
...Right?
[You have chosen One P_!]
[You have chosen One P_!]
[You have chosen One P_!]
[You have chosen One P_!]
[You have chosen One P_!]
Oh.
[C_! Cre t_ Y0_r Ch_act_R!]
Oh God I broke it.
[CREATE YOUR CHARACTER!]
Like a voice screaming above the masses, the green screen popped up in front of me, real big and clear. It then faded and a new one popped up, and in front of my eyes was a character creation screen. I gave a smile, cracked my fingers, and began customizing.
It took a little, but I managed to make a character that I was satisfied with.
Bio
Name: Jin Tetari
Age: 18
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 185 lbs.
Race: Human
Hair: Navy Blue
Eye Color: Gold
[Done?]
[Yes!] [No!]
Not gonna lie, the customization was pretty bare-bones. There was a couple other details, like dick size and hand preference (I chose left), but that was it. Still, I was pretty happy with my new body. With a smile I pressed yes, and my Bio vanished. In it's place another prompt appeared.
[We're almost finished!]
I nodded. "Alright. What's left?" In front of me, a slot machine popped into existence. Above it were some basic instructions.
[This is a perk slot machine! Pull the handle and get a perk! However, for every positive trait comes with a negative one! Do you wish to give it a spin?]
I looked at the machine, a little curious. Did I really need any additional perks and stuff? Did I really need to push my luck here? Hell, I still don't know which world I'm even going into. Should I really try to make things even more complicated?
[You pulled the handle twice!]
Yes.
[Congratulations! The following perks have been given to you!]
[How Lucky!]
+15 LUK at the start.
Some people are born with talent, skill, or looks. Not you! Instead, you were born luckier than most! Now go gamble!
[I Love Ladies!]
10% Less damage to females.
You always appreciated the female form, and now it's come back to haunt you. You can never truly fight a woman at your best.
Alright, first trade-off ain't too bad!
[Hey, I'm A Good Guy!]
+10% More damage against Evil characters.
Look, you understand why some people go full villain. In fact, you can even agree with some of them! Still doesn't change the fact that you hate it when people attack the innocent and the harmless.
[Bad L* R%%!]

People fight all the time. Some for just reasons, others for less than just reasons. You decided to #ck 1t a&& and don't d))0 wh%# &^%'re told. So, go crazy!
"Aw come on, again?!" I cried, looking at the jumble of text. This wasn't fair! I wasn't trying to glitch anything out, how come it ended up like this?! I gave a frustrated sigh and slumped forward. "Whatever, let's just move on. Hey Game, is there anything else I need to do?"
[Yes! Here, take this!]
+1 Standard Gacha Coin!
In my hand, a small white token popped into existence. "Gacha, huh? Cool!"
[Congratulations! You have finished making your character and choosing your world! You will be transported now!]
My eyes widened and I asked, "Wait, which world am I even going to?!"
[Good Luck!]
"Huh?! Wait, waitwaitwait! Answer me, please?! Where am I-?!"
"Going?!"
I blinked.
"Oh. That was fast."
I was laying down. I quickly pushed myself up, noting the coarse sand under my palms. Looking down at myself, I wore a simple black t-shirt, brown khakis, and a pair of black sneakers. Taking a quick glance at my surroundings, I immediately knew that I landed (?) on an island. Sand below me, water that stretched past the horizon in front of me, and a forest behind me. I smiled. "Well, if this doesn't mean One Piece, then I'd be greatly surprised!" However, before I could take a single step, a green screen flashed into existence in front of me.
[Welcome to One Piece!]
Heh, called it.
[A world full of mysteries, pirates, and adventure! Would you like a quick tutorial on how this world works?]
[Yes!] [No!]
Well, I already know what One Piece is, if that's what it's asking. Still, I decide to click yes. Better safe than sorry, yeah?
[If you want to make any progress in this world, you gotta understand yourself first! Say "Status"!]
"Status!"
The screen changed, and in place was my information, laid out like a game.

More glitches… Moving on, I noticed a couple odd things. "WP? Bonus points? Hey, what are-?"
[Here is your Status page! It contains all relevant information regarding your, well, stats! It also shows all the perks you have as well! If you're confused, press each one, and a short description will be provided!]
I shrugged and pressed WP.
[WP, or Will Points, is the numerical form of your willpower! It is used in a variety of things, such as abilities and haki!]
"Huh. So it's essentially my mana in this world. Cool!" I then pressed on Bonus Points, and another description appeared. I already had an inkling of what they were, but just in case, I decided to check.
[Bonus Points are points that can be manually appointed to your different stats! These can be given to you by leveling up, completing certain quests, and $#%!]
"Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought," I muttered, ignoring the glitch. "I already have a solid idea of the other things, so let's move on. Alright, what next?"
[Say "Abilities"!]
"Abilities!"
The screen changed once more.
Abilities
[Gamer's Mind] Level: MAX
Allows the user to _ and _ _ things through. Allows _ state of _. Immunity to mental debuffs.
[Gamer's Body] Level: MAX
Grants a body that allows for the user to live the real world like a game. Sleeping in a bed restores HP, WP, and all mass effects.
[I've Seen This Before] Level: MAX
20% EXP gain for actions done in the previous life.
The user has lived a life already, and with it, comes understanding.
That was it, huh? Well, it made sense. Still, I was getting increasingly annoyed at the amount of bugs I've been seeing, and the game had barely started! This was bullshit!
…
"What, no 'emotion nullification' or anything? Nothing at all? I can stay as mad as I normally am when I encounter game-breaking bugs?"
…
"Huh." I smiled. "Sweet! Alright Game, what next?"
[Of course! Next you have your "Inventory"!]
"Inventory!" Sure enough, a green grid that looked never ending popped up, with only a single item in it: my Standard Gacha Coin. I dismissed the screen. "So I have a bio, a status screen, an ability screen, and an inventory. Anything else?"
[Of course! However, they'll be introduced at a later time. For now, have fun! And remember: if you're ever confused about something, tap on it, and a quick explanation will be provided!]
And in a blink, the screen was gone. "So we finally can get started huh?" I took another look at my surroundings to make sure I was truly alone, then quickly pulled out my gacha coin from my inventory. It sat perfectly in my hand, and it reminded me of an arcade token. The letter G with a line through it on one side and a smiley face on the other side didn't help dissuade the thought. "Still," I muttered, examining the coin, "How do I use this?" I did another once over to see if I missed anything, like instructions, but nothing.
I was interrupted by my musings when I heard a sharp ding.
[New Skill Created!]
[Observe] Level: 1
Users with this skill get a description of any item they hold. Using this skill on a person or surroundings will grant a window of information. The higher the level, the more details are provided.
[To see what other skills you have, say "Skills" and the Skills page will open!]
Just like that, I had a skills page. I opened it, but the only skill in it was, of course, Observe. I dismissed it and turned back to the coin in my hand. Without Observe, I wouldn't have any descriptions at all, huh? Interesting mechanic, definitely. "Observe."
[Standard Gacha Coin]
A small coin used for rolling items. Snap it in half to use.
"Not a lot of info…" Well, it was to be expected. It was only level one after all. "Oh well." I grabbed the coin with both hands and snapped it with surprisingly low effort. "It broke like peanut brittle…" I idly noted.
A small ding rang in my head.
[A new item has been placed in your inventory!]
I dismissed the notification and quickly pulled the item out of my inventory. It was a sword, that much was obvious, and it looked really nice. With a long and sharp blade, a metal hilt with a red gem in the middle, and a rich wooden handle, I could tell this thing was a little rarer than a standard weapon. Still… "Observe."
[Platinum Broadsword] Uncommon
Attack Power: 25 + STRx1.2
A broadsword forged with platinum, this sword is stronger than the average weapon. Two hands is recommended for use.
"Attack power? Is that just how much damage my sword does?"
[Yes!]
"Oh. Thanks!" Not gonna lie, the sword seemed like a decent pull for my very first. Sure, it wasn't some kind of god-killing weapon or anything, but I highly doubted a platinum weapon was given to the average pirate mook and marine grunt.
…Pirates and Marines. Who did I want to join…? I always hated that the Marines were always seen as incompetent, corrupt, or just plain assholes, to be honest. Having a bounty would be a real pain too… I mean, I could just become a bounty hunter or something, but having the backing of a powerful organization would be really nice…
Like, pretty fucking nice. I smiled. "Alright, Marines it is!"
I heard a ding, and a new prompt appeared.
[A new Quest has been added!]
[To see all the Quests you've done, yet to do, or failed, say "Quests"!]
I say it, and my very first quest appears. And it's… a bit of a big one.

Failure:
Death, Leaving Marines, Marine Organization Falls
Description:
You've never really liked how the Marines were in the anime and manga. So, why not climb the ranks, become the best Marine out there, and change it for the better? You'll even get rewards along the way!
Yeah, wow, that was a lot to take in. The biggest things I noticed were the Ultra coin, the titles, and failures. I assumed an Ultra coin was just a better version of the standard coin, so that kinda solved itself. Same with the Marines falling, pretty self explanatory. No, what I was interested the most in were the titles. Would I get experience boosts with each one? More innate respect because I was a marine? Or was it just a fancy little thing that floated above my head?
"Guess I just have to find out, huh?" I give a small sigh of content before finally taking a proper look at my surroundings. I was on an island, obviously, but I had no idea where I was. The only three things I saw were the ocean, the beach, and the forest that lead deeper into the land. "If this island has people on it, I should walk along the coast for a harbor of some kind, right?" I asked myself.
A small ding rang out.
[Wow, you used your head! +1 INT!]
I raised an amused eyebrow at the screen before dismissing it. "Guess that's my answer." With a laugh, I began my trek.
It took a couple hours (during which I noticed that I didn't get hungry or thirsty), but eventually I found a reasonably large harbor. There were around 20 different ships coming and going at a time, a few buildings on the coast, and a docking area for specific merchandise.
The minute I saw it, I got a notification from the Game.
[You have discovered a new location: Bayback Rib, Harbor of Savosweet Island! To see all the places you've visited, say "Map"!]
With another page added to my game as a bonus! Very nice!
Before I could do anything else though, I felt someone tap my shoulder from behind. "Hey, you there."
I turned around and sure enough, a big, hairy, and gruff looking guy was looking right at me, scowl on his face. He was taller than me, had a killer tan, and wore a simple black shirt with brown pants and shoes. I immediately used Observe.
Bio
Name: Nilla
Age: 42
HP: 4000/4000
Level: 33
A sailor that once sailed across the seas. He now spends his time relaxing at Bayback Rib, occasionally lending a hand to those in trouble.
"Who're you? I've never seen you here before."
I gave a smile and lied, "My name is Jin Tetari. I was shipwrecked, a little while that way," I pointed towards where I was from, "And I need to know what island I'm on."
His scowl lessened a little and he huffed. "I see. Name's Nilla, and you're on Savosweet Island. This right here, Bayback Rib, is the only harbor on the island."
I raised an eyebrow and asked, "So it's a relatively small place, huh?"
He shrugged. "Suppose so. We have a Marine base, a few towns and other things, but it certainly ain't the biggest."
My eyes lit up, "A Marine base huh?"
He raised an eyebrow at that. "Yeah. What, you thinkin' of becomin' one?"
I nodded. "Definitely. It'd be a quick way to see the world with some backing. Pretty smart, huh?"
He went quiet at that. After a moment, he turned and started walking away. I blinked, but before I could say anything, he looked back and said, "Follow me."
Not seeing any reason not to, I followed.
"The Root Bar?" I asked, looking at the building in front of me. Nilla walked right in, ignoring my question. A little curious about his change in mood, I followed. The place was, unsurprisingly, a bar. One that reminded me of Makino's, but it was a lot bigger. It was filled to the brim with a whole slew of characters, but the giant of a man ignored them all, sat down at the bar itself, and gestured for me to sit next to him.
As I do, he called out, "Two bottles of sake!" When the bartender gave us the bottles, Nilla dropped a few berries on the counter, which the barkeep took. He handed me a bottle and started drinking straight from his own.
I looked down at it and inwardly grimaced. I was only 18, so I barely drank alcohol. Still, I mentally braced myself and took a quick swig. I immediately started coughing.
To my side I heard Nilla laugh. "What, gonna be a Marine without knowing how to drink?"
I scowled. "Whatever old man. I'm not exactly old enough to drink this stuff on the daily, you know?" Even though I said that, I was currently sitting in a bar drinking a bottle of alcohol without a single person even blinking. What was the drinking age here?
He took another swig. "Bah, you know nothing yet kid." There's a moment of silence before he reveals, "I was a Marine." I raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything. "Was a damn good one too. A Warrant Officer. I sailed across the four Blues, one by one. This one, East, North, and South, I've seen them all at their worst."
I couldn't help but ask, "Not their best?"
He looked away, seeing something I couldn't. "No. Never their best."
"Well, I'm not really subscribed to the whole "Marines are right, pirates are bad," idea anyways."
He raised an eyebrow at that. "What do you mean?"
I chuckled, "Pirates can be good people, you know? And Marines can be awful people." He appeared unconvinced, so I asked him, "Have you ever heard of Sabaody Archipelago?" When he shook his head, I elaborated, "It's neighbors with Marineford, the current Marine HQ, and is right next to Mary Geoise. Do you know what Sabaody is known for?" At his silence, I reveal, "Slavery."
Either I wasn't quiet enough, or the entire bar was already listening in, because the place goes dead silent.
Nilla, however, seemed completely unfazed and takes another swig from his bottle. "And?"
I shrugged. "I'd prefer to leave the implications there." I took another quick glug of my drink and continued, "I mean what I said earlier though. I just want some backing while I'm exploring the world. It doesn't really need to be the Marines, but I know a majority of them are loyal to each other. Besides, if I do a few good things while I'm a Marine, maybe others will be inspired along the way."
"And if they do something you don't like?"
"I leave the Marines."
"They'd place a bounty on your head."
"I'd have to live with that then."
He stared at me, real hard, but I managed to meet it with my own gaze. After what seemed like five whole minutes but was probably just a few seconds, he looks away. "When you meet them, tell the head officer I approve of you. Should be able to get in with that."
I beam at him and give a laugh. "Ha! Thanks old man, you're the best!"
He scoffed, but handed me a piece of paper. "Get outta here."
I took it and drained the rest of my drink in one big swig.
I heard a ding and opened my notifications.
[You gained +10 Reputation with Nilla!]
[You unlocked a new ability!]
[Wow, you really impressed him! +1 CHA!]
Sweet! Ignoring the stares of the people around me, I slip out of my seat and head out, eager to see the base in all it's glory.
[Poison Resistance] Level: 1
User takes 1% less damage from poison attacks.
Remember, venom is when the toxin is injected and it kills you. Poison is when you eat the toxin and it still kills you. Like alcohol!
I was standing in front of the Marine base, a slew of buildings at the center of the island. It was a pretty big location, with multiple tall and square buildings with a couple courtyards, with the tallest one in the center with the number 31 in the middle of it, for all to see. I was talking to a Marine in front of it.
"Nilla recommended you?" He was just as burly as Nilla, and I shot him a quick Observe.
Bio
Name: Colate
Age: 31
HP: 3500/3500
Level: 30
The current Commander and highest ranking Marine on Savosweet Island. He is best known for his strict yet kind attitude.
A small ding rang out loud.
[Observe has leveled up!]
Cool.
Turning my attention back to the man in front of me, I nodded. "Yes sir."
Colate was a big man. Tanned skin, black beard and mustache, and a single scar that went from the top of his left ear to the bottom of his chin. Instead of the standard Marine uniform, he wore a white dress shirt and black pants, with dress shoes to pair. On his hip was a large bastard sword with a small holster. Honestly, he kinda reminded me of Zorro, the vigilante from my previous life, but just a lot more ripped and a large billowing cape on his back.
He nodded. "Fine. Normally we give a few tests to see where you stand in comparison to your fellow soldiers, but if he recommended you, I guess you've got some potential. However, you're starting at the very bottom! Is that understood?"
I nodded with a smile. "Yes sir!"
Colate huffed and started walking back into the base. "Good, you have manners. Follow me, and we'll get you suited up!"
I followed his step, an even bigger grin on my face. "Yes sir!"
I was resting in my temporary room Colate gave me, a small space that looked like it used to be a broom closet, looking at all the alerts I received. God, just becoming a Marine gave me so much!
[Objective 1 of "Top Dog of the Marines!" has been completed!]
[New items are in your inventory!]
[A new page has been unlocked! Say "Armor" to see!]
[You have been given a new title: Seaman Recruit!]
[A new page has been unlocked! Say "Titles" to see!]
[You have gained +50 EXP! You have leveled up 2 times!]
[+20,000 Beri!]
I also got another location added to my map, the 31st Branch, which confirmed that I wasn't anywhere on the Grand Line, since it wasn't a G-L base.
So, let's just focus on one thing at a time. I quickly opened my inventory to see what new items I got.
[Marine Cap]
+2 Defense
A white cap with the Marine's logo on it. It's given to all new Marines and is apart of the standard uniform of all infantry.
[Marine Vest]
+4 Defense
A white button-up vest and blue ascot with the Marine's logo on it's back. It's given to all new Marines and is apart of the standard uniform of all infantry.
[Marine Slacks]
+4 Defense
A pair of blue slacks and black shoes. It's given to all new Marines and is apart of the standard uniform of all infantry.
[Iron Cutlass]
Attack Power: 10 + STR
A common cutlass made with common materials.
[Standard Rifle]
Attack Power: 50
A common rifle made with common materials.
[Standard Gacha Coin]
A small white coin used in rolling for special items. Snap in half to use. User's Luck doesn't affect Gacha Rolls.
I noted that the gacha coin had a bigger description, as well as note about my personal luck. Damn. Well, it wasn't all bad though. I even got a gun to my name now! Sweet! Next was Armor, and I opened the new page.
[Welcome to the Armor page! Here you can equip armor, as well as two accessories!]
Armor
Head: None
Body: Black T-Shirt
Arms: None
Hands: None
Legs: Brown Khakis
Feet: Black Shoes
Accessory 1: None
Accessory 2: None
Total Defense: 4
"Total defense, huh?" I clicked it, and an explanation popped up.
[Total Defense is the total number of defense points you have.]
Well, I guess I walked right into that one. I then clicked on defense, and another box appeared.
[Defense reduces the amount of damage you receive by half of it's points. For example, a Black T-Shirt provides 2 Defense, reducing incoming damage by 1 point!]
So if I took 50 hit points of damage, a 2 defense item would reduce the damage to 49. Nice to know. I quickly change into the Marine uniform, shooting my Total Defense up to 10. I dismissed the Armor screen and pulled up my new Titles screen.
Titles
Title 1: None
Reach Level 10 to unlock a new Title slot!
Reach Level 25 to unlock a new Title slot!
Reach Level 50 to unlock a new Title slot!
Reach Level 100 to unlock a new title slot!
So I can have a total of five titles. Cool. I then pressed on my Seaman Recruit title.
[Seaman Recruit]
Plus 20% EXP to all Marine-related abilities until Level 10.
Congratulations, you're the very definition of canon fodder for the Marines! If they need a bandit to subdue, you'd be the first one called (to distract them)!
I smiled and equipped it. If by "marine-related" abilities meant what I thought it meant, I'd be able to level up my sword and shooting skills a lot quicker than normal. I gave a small laugh. "Nice! Alright, next is my levels. Status!"

[Hey, I'm A Good Guy!]
[I Love Ladies!]
[Bad L* R%%!]
My willpower was 210, so did that mean it coincided with my charisma? Cause Luffy had some of the strongest willpower out there, and while he was pretty smart, he was never… numerically smart. He didn't know much about numbers or schematics or anything, right? So, charisma.
A new notification flashed.
[You deduced that your Will Points are affected by your Charisma! Smart! +1 INT!]
Seeing that my willpower didn't go up to 220, I guess I was right! "Sweet!" I then looked at the bonus points that had accumulated. Most people would hold onto them for a rainy day, since it'd be harder to level up later on. Furthermore, most people would choose a stat like strength, vitality, intelligence, or any of the stats that weren't luck.
"System, put all ten bonus points into luck."
I was not most people.
[+1 Reputation with !#$%]
I'm ignoring that.
Besides, with my luck now at 45, I just needed 5 more points for it to cross 50. If all the crappy fanfictions I've read meant anything, I would get some kind of luck-based ability or perk at 50, all without fighting a single enemy! So yeah, very nice!
…Wait, wasn't that like, incredibly overpowered? Should I really be getting so many bonus points each level? Hmm…
Well, whatever. I also got 20,000 Beri! Which was… Wait it's only like 30 dollars. Damn.
On to the gacha coin! I grabbed it and snapped it in half.
[A new item has been added to your inventory!]
I went to pull the item out of my inventory, but stopped when I read the name of the item. I quickly hit an Observe on it.
[Large Portable Ship] Epic
A large ship that can be pulled in and out of your inventory whenever you wish. Items and inhabitants inside the ship while in inventory will be put into stasis until user deploys ship once more.
About 130 feet long and 200 feet high, this ship is built to last! The most noteworthy details of this bad boy are the seastone-coated bottom, the built in compass, and the large deck!
Holy fucking shit.
Oh my God, this is incredible! I was a little worried about sailing, but not anymore! Holy cow, this was incredible! Thank you gacha gods!
"Hey, rookie. All set up?" The voice of Colate shook me out of my stupor. I turned to the door and saw him leaning against it, a scowl on his face. "Daily training starts in ten, report to Grounds 2 before then. Bring your gun and sword. Any questions?"
I nodded and asked, "If I have my own weapon, could I use that one instead?"
The Commander blinked, a sudden appraising look in his eyes. "Huh, guess you're a little more prepared than I thought. Still, no. Once you get out into the ocean, maybe, but for now you're sticking with the basics. Unless you think you already know them…?"
I shook my head. "No sir."
He nodded. "Then there you have it. Grounds 2 in ten."
I gave a salute and yelled, "Yes sir!"
He cracked a small grin. "Gonna have to work on that salute, rookie." With that, he left.
Darn.
I managed to find the training grounds before I ran out of time, so I took my time observing my surroundings, anything and everything, and managed to level it up one more time to 3.
I wonder how high it goes…?
"Attention!" I looked towards an incredibly pale man, with light purple hair that flowed down his back. "Welcome, new recruits, to the 31st branch of the Marines! My name is Instructor Ghetti, and from today onwards I am now tasked with whipping all your asses into shape! Is that clear?!"
Immediately, all the recruits straightened up and cried, "Yes sir!"
He nodded. "Now, I want you all do to fifty laps around this entire base! If you're not done by the time the sun hits noon, you're doing this for the rest of the day!"
"Yes sir!"
"What're you all waiting for then?! Get going!"
And with that, my very first day of training began.
[You ran past your limits, and for that you've been rewarded! +3 VIT!]
So, thankfully, I could increase my stats outside of leveling and bonus points. Furthermore, I think my stamina was directly linked to my HP, since I had been able to run the entire time without feeling even a little bit tired. Also because running increased my vitality, shooting my HP up to 230. It was a shame I didn't get a sprinting ability of some kind though. Didn't these things usually work like that?
"Alright boys!" I turned my attention back to Instructor Ghetti, along with my fellow recruits. "Now that you've all been properly warmed up, go grab your guns and swords! If even a single one of you disappoint me, we'll stay out here until midnight! Hop to it!"
"Yes sir!" Just like that, we finally began what I was looking towards the most: actual training!
It was a few minutes past midnight, and we were all sent back to our rooms. So, I was sitting on my bed, scrolling through my different pages to see what I gained from today's training.
[You've worked long and hard, pushing your body to the limit! +2 STR! +2 VIT!]
[You've unlocked new abilities!]
Not all of us were given limitless bodies, and because of that, I was forced to train until midnight. Still, it was worth it. Taking a quick look at the new abilities I got, it wasn't a surprise why.
[Sword Mastery] Level: 4
Deal 4% more damage when wielding a sword.
All the cool guys have swords, and even cooler guys know how to use them! The higher this stat is, the more powerful your swordsmanship is!
[Rifle Mastery] Level: 4
Deal 8% more damage when wielding a rifle.
Let's be real, a shot to the thigh is just as deadly as a shot to the chest. The higher this stat is, the more powerful your shots are!
My new title really helped. Despite training with my gun and sword for only a couple hours each, the fact that I managed to jump four whole levels was pretty incredible. Of course I know that it won't always be this easy, but I'll take what I can get.
I finally dismissed all of my screens and laid down on my bed, a smile on my face. To be honest, I was little hesitant about joining the Marines, but if I kept growing like I did today? Well, I can certainly see a future with Fleet Admiral Jin Tetari in it!
The moment I laid down, a green screen popped in front of me. What was this?
[Would you like to go to bed? If you do, you will be fully healed, your will points will be restored, all debuffs will be cleansed, and your game will be saved!]
[Yes!] [No!]
Wait, what?
I immediately pulled myself into a sitting position and tapped on the screen, hoping for an explanation.
[Each player has five Save Slots per run, which can be accessed, used, and over-ridden each time the user sleeps in a bed! In the same vain, the user can also load any Save Slot while they are asleep!]
Wow, convenient! Meaning that if I wanted to, I could save right now, and if something happens in the future, I'd be able to reload my save and start over! Wow!
[Wow, you caught on fast! +1 INT!]
I paused. "You know," I began, "I've been wondering about this for a while; Are you sentient, Game? System?" When silence was my answer, I sighed. "Of course." I turned back to the original prompt and hit yes. Immediately, my vision darkened and I felt myself hit the mattress.
Then, as fast as my consciousness faded, it came back.
[Choose a Save Slot!]
Save/load
1. None
2. None
3. None
4. None
5. None
I quickly clicked on Save Slot 1 and a picture of my temporary room showed up, as well as my total time I've been "playing" and my current location.
1. Jin Tetari, 12:23:31, 31st Marine Branch
Whenever you're ready to wake up, simply hit the X button in the top right, and your game will continue!]
Sure enough, in the top right of my vision, there was a single X. Having already saved, I tapped it, and I felt my vision fade once more. Let's get back to it!
I opened my eyes, a smile on my face. I quickly got out of bed and stretched, feeling better than the day before already. I already had a plan today, as I wanted to explore the island and maybe shop for a couple necessities as well, like hygiene stuffs, food (just in case), and a hilt for my platinum sword. Except, weirdly enough, my room looked a bit bigger. Instead of the broom closet, it was more like an actual apartment, with a couple doors at the end as well. I narrowed my gaze, a little confused. "Did the world glitch out or something…?" On guard, I went to my inventory to grab my sword and saw… nothing? Panicked confusion immediately flooded my body as I frantically scoured every inch of my inventory, but the only thing I had was a single gacha coin. "Where's my stuff?!" I quickly checked all my other pages, but they were just as empty (or inaccessible) as when I was level 1.
…Wait a minute.

[Welcome to One Punch Man!]
Fucking WHAT?!
[A world full of mysteries, monsters, and adventure! Would you like a quick tutorial on how this world works?]
[Yes!] [No!]
One quick tutorial later, and the only things different were my name and my Will Points, which turned into Magic Points. However, besides that, literally everything else was when I was back at level 1. No quests, armor, weapons, or anything. I tried asking the game for some kind of help option, to see if I could file a complaint or send a bug report or something, but all I got in return was silence. The only things I had were the clothes on my back.
"Well, I guess you're here too." I glanced down at the single gacha coin in my hand. Once more, I inspected every detail on it, and I quickly got the increasingly-familiar notification sound.
[New Skill Created!]
[Observe] Level: 1
Users with this skill get a description of any item they hold. Using this skill on a person or surroundings will grant a window of information. The higher the level, the more details are provided.
[To see what other skills you have, say "Skills" and-!]
I dismissed the rest. I already knew it all, so why bother repeating? Without anything else to do, I snapped my gacha coin.
[A new item has been placed in your inventory!]
[Iron Chakram] Uncommon
Attack Power: 20 + STR
While it's sharp enough to be used as a weapon, in modern society, chakrams are more well-known in the hypnosis community.
I sighed. "Yeah, guess my luck won't always pull me out." Still… hypnotism, huh? Could that work as a quick distraction or something? I mean, hell, I could even hypnotize the monsters in this world to simply give up! "Haha! Hahahaha!"
…
"THIS IS BULLSHIT!" I threw the chakram to the floor in a rage. "HEY, COME ON GAME, GIVE ME SOMETHING AT THE VERY LEAST! I HAD A GOOD THING GOING BACK THERE!"
Once more, silence was all I got in return. "Fuck!" I picked up the chakram and stormed out of my room (no, this was an apartment) in a rage, flinging the door open. I stomped outside and noticed that I was on a second floor balcony. However, before I could do anything else, I came witness to…
"Gyahahaha! Foolish humans, your reign has come to an end!"
You've gotta be kidding me.
Sure enough, right outside my apartment was a monster. He was around 8 feet tall and looked human enough, but what gave it away was the large tufts of hair that came from the sides of his face and wrapped around his arms into big, black, and spiky gauntlets.
"I, Sideburns, have come to ruin all who despise side burns and hair treatment!"
Well, the fact that he was spouting nonsense also helped.
Admittedly, I was already pissed off. I essentially got tricked into thinking I was gonna be in One Piece, only to get the rug pulled out from underneath the minute I hit my stride. Now, I was once again completely alone in a new world, but with even more dangerous enemies.
I love One Punch Man, don't get me wrong, that's why I struggled between it and One Piece in the first place. The problem was that I was already in One Piece! God, what a shitty fucking development! This had to have been caused by the glitch at the very start, right? Everything was fine before I picked the two worlds at the same time, so it HAS to have been that moment that caused all of this to happen.
"Hey miss, do you take good care of your sideburns?!"
And now I have the STUPIDEST monster I've ever seen show up literally on my (new) doorstep. I glanced down at my chakram and sighed. "Can people kill monsters without having to face any repercussions…?" I idly ask, watching Sideburns harass a couple nearby civilians.
"Of course! If a monster is killed by someone, you'd actually get rewarded! If you're apart of the Hero Association, of course."
I blinked and turned to my left, and saw none other than… "Sorry, who are you miss?" She was a cute girl, really cute actually. She looked to be about five feet tall-give or take an inch-with short brown hair, brown eyes, and a blush that looked permanent. She had a blue shirt and yellow jacket on, some blue jeans, and a pair of white sneakers on.
She blinked before giving me a sheepish smile. "Sorry, I just heard you muttering about killing monsters, I couldn't help but answer." She pointed at my chakram. "You're gonna kill it, right?"
I looked at her and the monster, back and forth. "You gonna help?"
She blinked, surprised. "M-Me? You think I could… help?"
I heard a yell and saw that Sideburns had finally grabbed a civilian, so I turned back to the girl and said, "If you can make a good enough distraction, like yell real loud or something, I should be able to take him down quick enough."
A quick ding alerted me to the Game's presence. Finally here, huh?
[A new quest has been added!]
[Your Very First Fight!]
Objectives:
1. Kill the monster!
OR
2. Knock out the monster!
Rewards:
1. +100 EXP, +1 Standard Gacha Coin, +2,500 yen
OR
2. +50 EXP, +1 Standard Gacha Coin, +2,500 yen, ?
My first branching quest, huh? Alright, things just got a little more interesting. I glance to my right and see a staircase that lead to the street, and I run off. "I'll signal when!" I yell, and I bolt down the stairs. In a second, I reach the ground level and peer around the corner, and sure enough, there he was.
"Hey hey, good sir… What do you think of my sideburns? Aren't they gorgeous…?" Sideburns was towering over some kind of salary man, who looked extremely terrified. Thankfully though, the monster wasn't facing me, so I crept forwards a little, trying to be as quiet as I possibly could.
[You unlocked a new-!]
The annoying ding nearly gave me a heart attack but I digress.
I mentally dismissed the notification and kept my eyes on the guy. Half-way there, I turned to where the girl before was, and sure enough, she was leaning over the rail of the second floor with a wide-eyed look on her face. I quickly threw my hand up as the signal, and it seemed to snap her out of it.
"Hey, you creep! Your sideburns are gross! You'd look better without them!" She cried, shaking her hand at the monster.
Immediately, he stopped and turned towards her, a nasty snarl on his face. "Huh? The fuck'd you say, you sideburn-less loser?!"
I smiled a little, but what she said rang in my mind. Look better without them…? I shook the thought away. Taking the distraction for what it was, I quickly ran up, chakram in hand, and slashed it as deep into his neck as I could.
[Critical Hit! Double Damage!]
He yelled in pain, and as he turned to face me, I pulled the chakram out and ran past him, slashing him two more times before he finally swung at me. I quickly jumped backwards, the element of surprise now gone. He, rightfully, looked very mad. "You sideburn-less bastard! I'll kill you!"
I backed up a bit and muttered, "Observe."
Bio
Name: Sideburns
Age: 28
HP: 368/500
Level: 5
Once an average salary-man, his obsession with his sideburns changed him into the monster he is today.
There's no way this guy was anything above a Tiger disaster level, yet he was still this tanky?! Even with my increased damage against "evil" people, I didn't deal even half his health! I looked down at my chakram and clicked my tongue before looking back at him. "Yeah, sure you will buddy," I taunted, a smile on my face. "Although, maybe if you took care of everything else besides your sideburns, maybe you'd actually become a decent human being?"
[You unlocked a new skill!]
He growled before launching himself at me at a speed I could barely follow. "You shit-stain!" He threw a left hook, and though I managed to dodge the brunt of his… ugh, his hair, it still clipped me in the side. Despite how it looked, it was surprisingly sharp.
-35 HP!
My eyes widened as I glanced down at my wound, a large gash in my waist. I was worried that I'd bleed out or fall apart from the pain, but it wasn't that bad, actually. It hurt a little yeah, but just enough for me to be aware of it. I smiled. Thank you Gamer's Body! I turned back to the monster and laughed, "Is that it? Man, you're sideburns are even stupider than I thought!" Speaking of his sideburns, what the girl from earlier said got me thinking: what would happen if I cut his sideburns off or something?
His face contorted even more, but before he could say anything, I charged him, chakram in hand. Obviously still angry, he didn't think as he went to throw another left hook. This time though, I was prepared and managed to duck under it, unharmed. Overextended, he could do nothing but watch as I carved my chakram into his arm, cutting through his hair and hand.
He screamed in pain, and I smiled as I tried to pull my chakram out. However, it was completely stuck, his hair tangling it into him. Making a split second decision, I left the chakram lodged in his hand, and jumped up, grabbing his stupid sideburns, and began to pull. I saw his eyes widen and he yelled, "Wait, no! Don't tear them off! Without them, I'm nothing!"
I didn't respond, and instead pulled out them out with a sickening rip. He cried in agony and fell to the ground, knocked unconscious.
A small ding told me the fight was over.
[Objective 2 of "Your Very First Fight!" has been completed!]
[You gained +50 EXP! You have leveled up 2 times!]
[New items have been placed in your inventory!]
[You unlocked a new ability!]
[+2,500 yen!]
I blinked. "Wait, that was it? I could've just… pulled these off from the start?" Well, I guess it was still my first fight, so it couldn't have been too difficult… I gave a sigh, then realized I was still holding his tufts of hair and quickly dropped them. "So gross…"
"Wow, you did it!" I turned around and the girl from before was there, a look of awe on her face. "You're incredible! Normally, even a Wolf needs at least three C-Class, and you took him out all on your own!"
While the flattery was nice, I corrected her. "You helped too, you know? It was actually you that gave me idea of getting rid of his hair, so thanks for that."
[+10 Reputation with Yui!]
So her name was Yui, huh? She smiled and was about to say something, but was cut off when I heard clapping from behind me. "Wow, that was incredible!" I turned around and saw a few people who were still nearby applauding, all smiling and cheering for us.
I gave a smile and waved before asking, "Hey, can someone call the Association? Don't want this guy here when he wakes up!" Once I got someone to make the call and crowd began to dissipate, I turned towards Yui and asked, "So, what's your name hero?"
She gave a small laugh and introduced her self. "I'm Yui Kaiyo, your neighbor." I blinked in surprise, and she gave another laugh. "Yeah, interesting first meeting, huh? I happened to hear the monster outside, like you."
She thought that's why I stormed outside? "...Right, cause of the monster." I gave a smile, "I'm… uh…" Wait, what was my name in this world again? I mentally summoned my bio and took a quick look.

Failure:
Leave Hero Association, Death, Hero Association destruction
Description:
Many wish to be a hero. Some for fame, some for money, and some for justice. You? Well, it's probably for one of those reasons, right?
Alright, nice!
Her eyes widened, surprised. "You're aiming for S-Class?"
I gave a shrug. "Well, why not? Being a hero sounds fun, and being S-Class means that I'll be one of the best!" I gave a wink and said, "Who knows, maybe I'll outrank Blast himself!"
At that she openly laughed, which I took slight offense to. I could totally one up him! Eventually! "Hey, that's a bit rude you know…?"
She covered her mouth and tried to placate me, "Sorry, I've just never met someone like you before." She seemed to realize what I said earlier, and like a switch was flipped, she ducked her head and began playing with her hair, suddenly nervous. "D-Do you really think I helped?"
I raised an eyebrow, but answered nonetheless. "Yeah, you did. I was serious when I said I didn't think about the whole hair thing. Plus, if you didn't distract him, the civilian would've gotten hurt." When she looked back up at me, I gave a smile. "You're a real hero, Yui. You did great."
[+10 Reputation with Yui!]
Her face lit up, but it did nothing to detract the small, yet proud, smile on her face. "T-Thanks, Jet." There was a moment of silence before she suddenly announced, "I want to be a hero."
I shrug. "I mean, obviously."
"I'm going to sign up as soon as I can."
"Alright."
She paused, a little hesitant, before she asked, "Would you… would you like to go with me? And we could sign up together?"
I nodded and patted her head. "Of course."
[+10 Reputation with Yui!]
Wow, she really wants to be a hero, huh? "I'll be with you, every step of the way."
She nods, a very excited gleam in her eye. "Alright! Then, how about this weekend?"
I smile, "Sure. Where does the exam take place?"
She raises an eyebrow, "At the X-Branch, like all other cities?"
So we're in X-City? Good to know. "Hey, I was just asking. Better to double check!"
She giggles. "Fair enough." I heard a chime, and she pulled out a phone. "Oh shoot, I'm gonna be late! It was super nice talking to you Jet, and thank you for everything! See you later!" And with that, she ran off.
Not gonna lie, she's pretty cute!
I almost went back inside so I could check out all the cool stuff I got, but then I realized Sideburns was still lying on the floor. Shoot, I was gonna have to stay here until someone picks him up, aren't I? Taking a quick look around and seeing no one nearby, I sighed. "Let's hope they don't take too long…"
It was about twenty minutes, but I finally heard the distant sound of a bell ringing. Turning around, I saw none other than Mumen Rider himself, pedaling down the street. Before long, he reached me and came to a stop. Before he could say anything though, I smiled and cried, "Mumen Rider! Wow, I'm a big fan!"
I reached out for a handshake and he reciprocated, a small smile on his face. "It's an honor to meet a fan. But before anything else," He turned towards Sideburns, who was still knocked out, and asked, "Did you do this?"
I nodded. "Yeah, but not entirely. Another person helped, but she had to go. She was a real hero."
He looked down at the monster once more and muttered, "What hero wouldn't take credit…?"
I blinked before realizing my mistake. "Oh, sorry, she wasn't actually a hero. She's a civilian, like me."
I saw his mouth drop a little in surprise, but he quickly recovered and laughed. "Wow, two civilians took out this guy? You're amazing!"
I smiled and tried my hardest not to preen. "Well, we're planning on taking the hero exams this weekend. I think we have a chance!"
He nodded, "Definitely! You both have a lot of potential!" Before I could say anything else though, he grabbed Sideburns and threw him onto the back of his bike. "Well, I'm off! I hope to see you in the hero ranks!" And as fast as he came, he left.
It wasn't until after he was out of sight that a realization hit me. "Shit, I should've Observed him!" I groaned and sulked back to my apartment. Whatever. I swung the door open and went inside. The minute I was in, I pulled up my Status sheet.

"Should I hold off on spending my bonus points this time?" I muttered, staring at my stats. "I mean, One Piece and One Punch Man are very different stories, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was easier to get killed here than in the funny pirate world. Hmm…"
Suddenly, an idea struck me. I pulled a single 100 yen coin from my inventory and declared, "Heads, I save the bonus points for a rainy day. Tails, I spend them right now." I flipped it, and it landed on heads. "Saving them it is."
I closed my stats and then opened up my Skills screen to see what was new.
Skills
[Sneak] Level: 1
Cost: 5 MP/s
While using this skill, user's presence drops by 11%.
The higher this skill is, the harder it is for enemies to notice you! Now use this to peep!
[Taunt] Level: 1
Cost: 10 MP
User taunts whoever they wish, with an 11% chance for the target to focus the user over everyone else. Inflicts target with [Rage].
You know, I first got this skill in COD lobbies.
[Hypnosis] Level: 1
Cost: 50 MP/s
User can put target into a susceptible daze after 30 seconds of focused use.
Hypnosis has the power to do a lot of good, really! But… I mean… Uh…
Wow, these skills made me look like a full-time villain, sheesh. Closing my Skills, I opened my Abilities screen.
Abilities
[Chakram Mastery] Level: 1
Deal 1% more damage when wielding a chakram.
Well, it's certainly a unique weapon, I'll give you that. Plus, you can even throw it!
Yeah, I figured. I looked down at my chakram, a little put-off. It worked, it really did, but was it really the path I should go? Looking at my Abilities and Skills, the Game was setting me up to use chakrams (and hypnosis), but how long would they work?
Hm…
I sighed. "I guess I'll just keep using this until something better comes along. Don't really have a choice, do I…?"
[Hey, that's a decent plan! +1 WIS!]
At least the Game approved. Finally, I opened my inventory and pulled out my gacha coin. "Please give me something better, I beg you…" And I snapped it in half.

I grabbed it, and it was a… book? "Observe."
[The Human Monster Saga] Rare
Drawn by the incredible Yusuke Murata and written by the amazing ONE, this manga volume entails everything that happens in the Monster Saga of One Punch Man! And it's all in color! If read in public, only you would understand it!
…Alright, not bad. From the Garou Introduction arc all the way to the Monster Association arc, it was a pretty good pull. "...Doesn't really help me right now though…" I flipped through the entire book when I noticed a certain someone. "Wait… Swim? Is that Yui?"
[Yes! Good eye! +1 INT!]
"...I feel like that one was a bit too easy…" When I got nothing in response, I sighed. "Whatever." Well, guess I'll take a look around my apartment.
It was pretty small, but not smaller than my broom closet back with the Marines. A general room, a small kitchen, a bathroom, and a small hallway to the entrance. Overall, pretty sweet! The general room was equipped with a closet that had bedding stuff, a small table to eat at, a TV in the corner, and a calendar on the wall. The kitchen had a sink and a stove, a couple cabinets filled with food, and a small fridge filled with drinks and cold stuffs. The bathroom was a bathroom, with a sink, a toilet, a bathtub and shower. Finally, the entrance hallway was completely bare, except for my pair of shoes. Overall, pretty sweet place.
I walked back outside and looked to the sky, seeing the sun still hanging high up. "Still plenty of daylight left… What now?" I didn't have any other things to do, and according to the calendar, I still had a couple days until the weekend. I was also still peeved about changing worlds, to be honest. "Should I just patrol the area for monsters…?"
I sighed. "Might as well."
The only thing I managed to do was level Observe up to 4. I don't know if I was just really unlucky, but I didn't come across a single monster. By the time I got back to my apartment, it was already near midnight.
That's right, I spent almost twelve damn hours scouring X-City for a single monster, and I got nothing. What was happening?! Was I still stuck in the tutorial or something? Was I supposed to just wait until the weekend?
Guess I'd find out once Saturday hit. I walked into my apartment, set up my bed, and the same prompt as before came up.
[Would you like to go to bed? If you do, you will be fully healed, your will points will be restored, all debuffs will be cleansed, and your game will be saved!]
[Yes!] [No!]
I was nervous, to be honest. What if I was taken to another world? Would I be stuck in a loop of beginnings if I sleep? But if I didn't sleep, I'd give up my save slots…
"Fuck it." I hit yes, and my vision faded into the black.
I opened my eyes, and once more I was in front of the save slots.

Then, I pressed the X button in the top right, and my vision faded once more. God, I hoped I ended up back in my apartment…
[You've woken up well rested! HP and WP are fully restored! All debuffs cleansed!]
Yes! It worked! I wasn't transported again, I actually slept and… woke… up…

AN: Woah a new story? Even though I said I wasn't gonna make another story?
Yeah, sorry about that, but this idea was on the back burner for so long, and before I knew it, I made two whole item sheets and everything for each world. Fun fact, I actually flipped a coin to see if Jet would spend his points now or not, and it ended on heads! Anyways, expect a slightly quicker updates from now on! Now that I've got this story off the ground, I can get back to working on my other stories too! Anyways, that's about it for me. Thank you all for reading, and have a good one!
