Melody Gaines - Young! Keri Russell - Purple Ranger - Plesiosaurus.
Melody calmly walked into the gym, peering around the area to find her cousin.
She finally spotted a guy in green, doing martial arts not far away, who was really good as he did kicks while jumping and spinning around. He then stopped and did a punch, doing a quick move.
"Of course he's showing off," She sighed.
She quickly made her way through the people around the door, acidentally bumping into a girl in pink. Mumbling a quick 'sorry', she finally reached her cousin.
"Hey, Tommo! So, how's it going?" Melody questioned, making him turn to her.
"Finally, Mels, I was wondering if you were even going to make it for my match," Tommy shook his head, rolling his eyes.
"Well... I maybe, sorta, kinda got lost?" She spoke, a small blush on her face as she was embarrased.
"Of course you did," Tommy chuckled.
"At least I don't forget everything," Melody pouted, rolling her eyes at his teasing. "Shouldn't you be practicing?" She asked.
"Why, you think I can't beat him?" Tommy asked, offended.
"I don't even know who you're fighting," Melody countered.
"Coming up next, a karate competition, featuring Angel Grove's finest, and a new challenger." the announcer said.
"Angel grove's finest, apparently," Tommy sighed. Melody put her hand on his shoulder.
"Don't worry, Tommy. You'll do great," She smiled, reassuringly.
"Thanks Melody," He smiled, calming down, he then began to get ready again.
He did his jump spin kicks again, Melody laughing, backing up as to not get kicked in the face.
In the palace, Rita was watching the Expo through her telescope.
"Ooh, did you see that guy?" she asked, taking her eye out of it. "He'll be a great Green Ranger, and she could be the Purple Ranger, assuming she can fight,"
Goldar growled, while Squatt and Baboo looked confused.
"Huh? You mean some of their own kind?" Baboo inquired.
"Of course!" Goldar said.
"Ooh, I'm such a genius." Rita said, walking to the balcony.
"How brilliant! The Power Rangers destroyed by more teenagers!" Goldar said.
"Yes!" Rita said.
"Ooh, yes! Mm-hmm." Baboo said.
"Yes!" Squatt grinned.
"I can't wait to see how Rita's going to pull this off." Baboo said.
At the Youth Center, Tommy was now on the mats, and he and his opponent, a guy in red, were now fighting, with the score was currently 1-1.
Red-guy backward-handspringed when Tommy kicked him, then he dodged another, and he ducked under three of Tommy's jump spin kicks, until Red-guy finally kicked him, knocking him over. The referee then went over to them, while Tommy got back up.
"You got this, Tommy," Melody muttered, watching in anticipation.
"Return to center." the referee said. "Judges call, one point."
That made the score 2-1 to Red-guy
"Fight stance." the referee said, before getting back.
Red-guy and Tommy then started again. Red-guy jump-kicked, only for Tommy to roll forward to avoid it, Red-guy then tried to kick him in the leg, but he did a backflip, and then avoided Red-guy's tackle and ducked under a kick. Tommy then sent two kicks at Red-guy, who blocked the first with his hand, but the second hit him in the chest, taking Red-guy down as his leg lay on him.
"Okay, break, break! Return to center." the referee said.
Tommy and the boy got to the center of the mat.
"Judges call, one point." the referee said, making the score 2-2. "Fighting stance."
He then backed away.
Tommy and the guy then started again, with Tommy doing a top kick, but Red-guy ducked and ran past him. He then turned and sent a kick at Red-guy, then sent two punches at him, but he dodged them, but then Red-guy grabbed his hand, before he tripped him up, knocking Red-guy onto the mat.
Red-guy grunted, as Tommy punched him.
"Break, break!" the referee said, as Tommy got back up. "Return to center."
Red-guy got back up, going over to his end of the mat.
"Judges call, one point." the referee said.
That made the score 3-2 to Tommy.
"Yes!" Melody quietly cheered.
"Fighting stance." The referee said before backing away, and then they started again.
Red-guy top kicked, but Tommy ducked and ran past him, then Red-guy turned around. Tommy sent a kick, followed by two tornado kicks, but Red-guy ducked under all three of them, then he began punching at Red-guy, who backed away, which ended him out of the center.
"Break!" the referee said. "Back to center."
Tommy and the boy moved to their sides of the mat.
"Judges call, out of bounds." he said, turning to Red-guy. "Awarding one point."
That making the score 4-2.
"You're close, Tommy," Melody muttered.
"Fighting stance." the referee said.
He backed away, as Red-guy did a kick, then a tornado kick, before kicking Tommy in the chest, knocking him down.
"Break, break." the referee said.
Tommy got back up, then he and Red-guy moved to their ends of the mat.
"Judges call - one point." the referee said, making the score 4-3. "Fighting stance."
He backed away.
"Looks like his opponents catching up," Melody said, looking on in worry.
"Come on, Jason! Time's running out." Another member of the crowd yelled.
'That must be the dude's name.' Melody nodded to herself.
"Come on, Tommy! You're doing great!" She cheered, calling out to her cousin.
Tommy sent a kick at Jason, who blocked it with his hand, then blocked a punch from him, then ducked under another. He then kicked Tommy in the chest, then in the back, making him flip forwards onto the floor, then Jason punched him in the chest.
"Time." the referee said, as Tommy got up.
The bell then went off.
"Judges call, one point. Match ends in a draw. No winner." the referee said. "Bow to me."
Tommy and Jason both turned and bowed to him.
"Bow to each other." the referee instructed.
They did that as well, before they shook each other's hands.
They both then parted as everyone clapped.
"Yeah, thanks." Tommy said, shaking a boy's hand.
"Hey cousin?" Melody started, getting his attention.
"Yeah?" He asked.
"Look over there, I think Pinky's checking you out," Melody grinned, teasing her cousin.
Tommy looked over there slightly, and just missed the girl in pink turning away with her friend in yellow.
"Ugh, you missed it! You're so slow," Melody rolled her eyes.
"Come on, Mels, we gotta get back home, my Mom has been complaining that I was so focused on this match I haven't gotten any unpacking done," Tommy spoke, putting an arm around his cousin's shoulder's.
"Auntie's kinda right," Melody giggled, before groaning. "And oh my gosh, get off me, you need a shower," She complained, pushing him off of her.
The next day at school, as several students walked down the hallway, Tommy and Melody included, looking over their schedules to see what they had together.
Melody wore a long-sleeved, purple top, white overalls with shorts and white tennis shoes with green accents. Her curly blonde hair was down and thrown behind her back.
Melody looked up as she saw the girl from yesterday being, by the looks of it, harassed by two bullies, one with a ponytail and one with a mullet.
"Hey," Tommy said, going over. "Didn't ya hear the lady? She said no," he said. Melody walked up beside him, putting an arm around the brunette girl, trying to move her away from her cousin, who would inevitably be doing spin kicks.
"It's best we back up," Melody whispered to the girl, who got the message and backed up as well.
"I think it's time for somebody else to be taught a lesson," The one with a ponytail threatened.
Tommy then started showing of his moves, doing punches and chops, giving the bullies a fright. The guy then did his jump spin kicks, then a punch, then a kick, and then another, as everyone watched, leaving the duo speechless.
"Maybe we'll t-teach you that lesson s-s-some other time." Ponytail said, stuttering.
Mullet waved, before Ponytail turned around, then they both left.
"Let's go!" Ponytail hissed.
"All right, all right!" Mullet said.
Tommy approached Melody and Pink-girl, who smiled at him, as everyone else went back to what they were doing.
"Thanks," Pink-girl said. "That was really great," Melody removed her arm from the girl's shoulders, then moved as she realized her new locker was right there.
She opened it up while listening to her cousin's and the girl's cute conversation.
"Sure. I'll see you later," the guy said, as he started to leave, making Melody roll her eyes at his stupidity.
"Hey..." Kimberly called out, making him turn around. "Um...I'm Kimberly. You're new around here, aren't you?"
"Yeah. I'm Tommy," the guy said, shaking Kimberly's hand. "And that's my cousin, Melody," Melody turned to them, giving a smile and a wave, before turning back to her locker where she had placed some books.
"Hi," Kimberly said, blushing.
"Hi," Tommy said.
"Um...listen, do you want to get together with some of us after school?" Kimberly asked. "You know, nothing major, just hang out at the Youth Center?"
"Yeah. That sounds cool," Tommy said.
"Okay," Kimberly said.
"Well, I'll see you then," Tommy said, before leaving. "Bye,"
"Bye," Kimberly said, blushing.
"You must really like to my cousin," Melody smiled, looking over at Kimberly's blushing face.
"You could tell?" Kimberly asked, looking sheepish.
"Just as much as I could tell that he totally likes you too!" She grinned, a knowing look on her face. "But don't worry, he's totally clueless," She reassured Kimberly.
"Are you gonna come with him?" Kimberly questioned, making Melody tilt her head in confusion.
"Where?" She asked.
"To the Youth Center later, you're invited too obviously. My friends are super chill, they'd be fine with you guys," Kimberly smiled, making Melody nod.
"Totally, we'll be there," Melody smiled back, closing her locker.
In the palace, Rita stood near some candles, staring at a skull.
"Soon, young Tommy, young Melody, you will go under my spell as I call forth the power of the sixth and seventh Power Coins." she said.
She then began casting a spell, while she was looking at a skull, as its eyes glowed red.
"You will become my evil Green and Purple Rangers after you face my Putties as a test." she said.
She then recited the spell, while the eyes in the skull glowed red again.
After school, Tommy, Melody, along with two other boys, were walking down the street.
"See you later, guys. Bye," Tommy said, as they separated.
Tommy and Melody then walked down a alleyway, until four Putties came out of nowhere and surrounded them. One kicked Tommy in the chest, another punching Melody's arm.
Melody reacted immediately she forward-kicked, knocking it back. Another one came up from behind, but she sensed it and tumbled forward, rolling and then jumping to punch it back. She landed a tornado kick on another one coming at her, and then she met up with Tommy.
"Man...why us?" Tommy asked, confused.
"I don't know, but I really hope that this bad luck of ours doesn't continue," Melody spoke, rubbing the bruise on her arm.
In the palace, Rita had seen the whole battle through the telescope, and she was more than pleased.
"Yes!" she said. "These kids are truly the ones that shall become, my evil Green and Purple Rangers!"
Sparks then shot out of her wand and shattered all over the balcony, scaring Squatt, Baboo and Finster.
"AH!" Squatt and Baboo yelped, hugging each other.
"Prepare my crystal ball to receive them." Rita said, as the skull lit up, and shone on a small ball in front of it.
In the alley, Tommy had checked to make sure no more Putties were around, and then he picked up his bag. Melody followed suit, grabbign the backpack she had discarded to the floor.
"That was like a bad dream." Tommy said.
He put his bag around his shoulder, when the wind started to pick up.
"Hey!" he said, putting his bag down. "What's going on?"
""What's happening!?" Melody screamed, the wind causing her curly blonde hair to fly all over the place.
"Tommy! Melody!" Rita shouted, who was standing on a rooftop just opposite him. "I have chosen you!"
"No!" Tommy yelled.
Rita just laughed and cast a spell on them, making them disappear.
Rita arrived in her palace, just as the skull went dark again.
"Oh, there you are!" she said, picking up the ball. "You've arrived at last."
Goldar, Squatt, Baboo and Finster crowded around it.
"What do you think?" Rita asked.
They saw Tommy in it, lying down on some weird table. Beside him was a table that held a small box that glowed purple.
"They're perfect, your evilness," Squatt said.
Melody was also strapped to a table but in the main room, she struggled and screamed through her restraints.
"You shall be my new evil Purple Ranger," Rita cackled, Melody was zapped into the crystal ball, right in front of the box. A spell came over her and she had the urge to open it, once she did her hand's took hold of the gold coin and she gasped, her eyes glowing purple.
Rita then cast a spell over the crystal ball.
"Receive the power," she said.
She then carried on with the spell.
"Yes, yes!" Squatt said.
"Arise, my Green Ranger!" Rita called out.
Tommy sat up on the table, and then his eyes glowed green.
"How can I serve my Empress?" he asked.
"As a Ranger, you can now enter the Command Center." Rita explained. "There you'll disable Zordon and the destroy the Power Rangers;Jason, the Red Ranger. Zack, the Black Ranger. Kimberly, the Pink Ranger. Billy, the Blue Ranger. And Trini, the Yellow Ranger. Now, prepare to receive the sixth Power Coin and become my Green Ranger!"
He put his hand up, and then the coin appeared in it.
Melody felt a deep state of chaos settle within her mind, and destruction filled all of her thoughts. But unlike her cousin, who would follow after Rita like a lapdog, she knew enough to want more power. More evil. To destroy Rita and throw her off the top.
Yes. Destroy Rita. Destroy Rita. Then, destroy the Earth.
But of course, she must have a plan, and that plan was to fake out Rita make her believe that Melody was on her side. Once Rita trusted Melody, then and only then could she get in close enough to slit her throat.
In the palace, Tommy stood up, holding his Power Coin. Melody stood beside him, already in her purple suit - which was almost exactly like Kimberly's, except it had a bit more shape, it was purple in all the places where pink had been, and she had silver everywhere there had been white. Her helmet resembled a plesiosaurus and her boots and gloves had triangles instead of diamonds.
"And now, morph into the Green Ranger!" Rita ordered.
Tommy morphed into his green ranger suit.
"To the fall of Zordon and destruction of the Power Rangers," Tommy said, clutching his fist.
"Good will be gone, and all that will be left is evil," Melody added, pumping her fist into the air.
Melody and Tommy arrived in the Command Center unnoticed. Melody walked off in another direction, she went towards a big glowing orb.
She passed it, and walked over towards the back, a more hidden area of the Command Center. She walked in farther and noticed something. Something odd. There was a small brown bag, with purple handles sticking out. She picked it up and opened it, revealing a group of throwing Framea's. Purple spears, designated to throw and return like a boomerang.
"What a fun souvenir," Melody smirked, strapping the bag to the side of her belt, as if that was its original place.
Tommy had ripped out more of the controls and wires, leaving the place a complete wreak.
"Tommy, no!" Zordon shouted, before fading away completely.
Tommy then looked around at the mess he made, which made him laugh evilly. Melody joined him, smirking because of her find and the wreckage of the Command Center.
"It is done, my Empress," he said. "Zordon has been eliminated! And the Power Rangers are next!"
He laughed again, while looking at Zordon's new state.
"I see the old man isn't as invincible as he'd like to be," Melody laughed.
"So long, Zordon," Tommy said. "Our work here is done,"
He pressed both sides of his Power Morpher and then disappeared. Melody followed suit, leaving the Command Center behind.
Melody smiled as she watched the battle on top of the mountains with Tommy. She took the time to analyze their moves and their weapons.
"To the beginning of the end for the Power Rangers!" Tommy said.
She watched the battle with calculating eyes, as Tommy stared down with a blank look. Until finally, they battled in zords and while they were attempting to beat Goldar, that's when Melody and Tommy made their way down in their Ranger suits.
"Our turn!" Tommy exclaimed.
He jumped up, and landed on the head of the Megazord.
"Time to meet the Green Ranger." he snarled.
The Rangers turned around, to see the Green Ranger open a door behind them.
"Long live Empress Rita!" he declared, before punching Trini into the controls. That's when Melody joined. She entered as well, and used her blaster to blast the controls.
Sparks came out of the Megazord's head, then Tommy threw them out of the Megazord, first Kimberly and Billy, then Zack and Trini, then Jason. They all hit the ground, before Tommy and Melody themselves jumped after them, landing on their feet.
"You're finished!" said Tommy, charging in. While Tommy went after Red and Black, Melody began a battle with Pink, Blue and Yellow.
"You pathetic rangers, your powers can't match to ours. We'll have you destroyed in no time!" Melody exclaimed, blasting Pink and Yellow, while doing a side-kick out at Blue, who was knocked down.
As they fought, the Rangers regrouped after many a loss.
"You okay?" Yellow asked, as the others got around them.
"I am the Green Ranger! Prepare to be destroyed!" Tommy said.
"I'm the Purple Ranger! We have more power than you could ever dream of having!" Melody added.
"You think your so tough, take me on!" Red dared. Melody smirked and turned to Tommy, who nodded.
"With pleasure!" Tommy said, throwing his blade at Red, hitting him in the chest.
Melody then ran in, kicking him in the chest, causing him to stumble back into Tommy. Red turned to kick Tommy, but he ducked and returned to kick Red himself. Melody came up from behind and punched him in the back, causing him to lean into Tommy's three punches. While Tommy punched him, Melody crouched down and delivered a sweep-kick to Red's legs, making him fall over.
"Jason!" said Blue, as the Rangers ran to him.
"Oh, no!" said Yellow, as Red got up.
He fired some sort of, energy ball at them, knocking them all down, as he laughed. Melody threw a Framea, when it landed between them it sent out blasts of electricity before returning to her hand.
Tommy and Melody stood, still morphed, laughing evilly on a cliff, with Tommy's hand in the air.
"To the fall, of the Power Rangers!" he yelled.
"We'll destroy you, one and all!" Melody screamed.
They laughed once again.
