Sakura and Kakashi were called to the Hokage's tower six hours after they left.
"So, what is it?" Tsunade asked the two.
"Well, being married to her seemed like not a bad thing." Kakashi said.
"Okay, that's good. Sakura?"
"He seems nice, especially when he knows not to read that book while were eating." Sakura explained.
"Okay. So, I'm sorry but I have to marry you today."
"Why?" Sakura asked.
Tsunade sighed, looking serious. "The situation is pressing, and we can't afford to delay this any further. The daimyo is pushing for a quick resolution, and if we don't present your marriage as a viable alternative immediately, it could lead to unwanted consequences for the village."
Kakashi nodded in agreement. "We can't risk any missteps or misunderstandings. Speed is of the essence in this case."
Sakura took a deep breath and nodded. She knew the urgency of the situation, and she didn't want to put Konoha at risk. "I understand. Let's proceed with it."
Tsunade nodded in approval. "Good. I've already made arrangements with the village elders, and everything is in order. The ceremony will take place at the Hokage Monument. I'll officiate it myself. It's going to be a small and discreet event. The most important thing is that this marriage is documented as quickly as possible. Meet me there in 10 minutes."
"Well, Tsunade-sama. Can I at least ask for another ten minutes?" Kakashi asked.
"Why? Are you trying to say goodbye to being a bachelor?" Tsunade asked, but without a proper sting. She is asking a favor to Konoha's best jonin, she can't afford to intimidate the silver jonin.
"No." Kakashi scratched the back of his head. "I'll just get my mother's ring."
"Kakashi - "
"No, Sakura." Kakashi interrupted her, knowing what she wants to say. "It's the ring that is passed down to the matriarch of the clan. Since we are doing this legally, you're going to be the owner of the ring." Kakashi said vehemently.
Sakura was taken aback by Kakashi's determination and the significance of the ring. It was a powerful symbol of their commitment to this unexpected marriage and to each other. She looked into Kakashi's eye, her own eyes filled with gratitude and a hint of emotion. "Thank you, Kakashi. I appreciate it."
Kakashi nodded, his eye softening. "It's the least I can do to make this official."
With Kakashi's request granted, Tsunade agreed to wait for the extra ten minutes. Kakashi hurried to retrieve the ring, and within the hour, they all gathered at the Hokage Monument.
The marriage ceremony was a simple and discreet affair, with only a few witnesses from the village in attendance. Tsunade, acting as the officiant, led them through the vows and rituals, making it clear that this union was essential for the safety and well-being of Konoha. Kakashi and Sakura exchanged their vows with sincerity, pledging to stand together and support each other in this new chapter of their lives.
When Tsunade finally declared them husband and wife, the small crowd in attendance clapped and offered their well-wishes. Kakashi and Sakura, now legally married, shared a look of determination and acceptance. They knew that this marriage was not by choice, but it was a responsibility they were willing to shoulder for the sake of their village.
As they descended from the Hokage Monument as a newlywed couple, Kakashi and Sakura knew that their journey as husband and wife was just beginning, and they were prepared to face it together, with strength, resilience, and a deep sense of duty to Konoha.
