Kakashi walked alongside the pink-haired Kunoichi. His hands were shoved in his pockets. Since they married three days ago, they are on a forced vacation - supposedly for honeymoon - but since they are not the typical newlyweds, they stayed in Konoha.
"So where do you want to go?" Kakashi asked Sakura.
Sakura thought about it for a minute then she turned to her husband. "I don't know. But why don't you visit your father's grave?" she suggested.
Kakashi's visible eye softened at Sakura's suggestion. It had been a while since he had visited his father's grave, and he appreciated her thoughtfulness. "That's a good idea. It's been a long time since I paid my respects. Let's go together." He said, grasping the hand that brushes against his.
"Are you sure?" Sakura asked him. She doesn't want to intrude.
"Why not? Might as well introduce my 22-year-old wife." he teased. "My father would be rolling in his grave right now." he murmured to himself, but Sakura heard.
Sakura chuckled at Kakashi's teasing and nodded. "Alright then, let's go pay our respects to your father together. I think he'd appreciate the company, even if it's from your newly acquired 22-year-old wife." She teased back, causing Kakashi to snort at her words.
They made their way to the cemetery where Kakashi's father's grave was located. The serene and quiet atmosphere of the place was a stark contrast to the bustling streets of Konoha. Sakura walked beside Kakashi as they approached the gravestone, feeling a sense of reverence for the solemn occasion.
Kakashi stood in front of the grave, his gaze fixed on the name engraved on the stone. In his hand is a bouquet of fresh flowers. He knelt down and carefully placed the flowers in front of the gravestone. For a moment, he remained silent, lost in his thoughts and memories.
Sakura stood by his side, giving him the space, he needed to remember and pay his respects. She understood that this was a personal and emotional moment for him, and she wanted to support him in any way she could.
After a few moments, Kakashi spoke softly, as if addressing his father directly. "Hey, Dad. It's been a while. I brought someone with me today. This is Sakura, my... wife. I know it's unexpected, but she's an amazing ninja and person. I think you'd like her if you had the chance to meet her."
Sakura bowed her head respectfully, her hands clasped in front of her. "It's an honor to be here, Hatake-san paying my respects with Kakashi. I've heard a lot about you and your wisdom. Thank you for bringing such an extraordinary son in the world."
Kakashi turned to Sakura, his visible eye softening with gratitude. He reached out and gently squeezed her hand, appreciating her kind words and support.
After a moment of silence, Kakashi continued, "I wish you could have met my mother, too. She would have been thrilled to have a daughter-in-law like you, Sakura."
Sakura smiled and nodded; her heart touched by Kakashi's words. "I wish I could have met her as well. Your parents must have been wonderful people to have brought you in this world."
Kakashi didn't respond but his visible eye seemed to glisten with unspoken emotions.
As they stood by the grave, Sakura and Kakashi paid their respects in their own way, silently honoring the memory of Kakashi's father and mother. It was a moment of reflection and connection, and Sakura felt grateful to be a part of this intimate experience with her husband.
After a while, Kakashi stood up, and they both took a step back from the grave. He turned to Sakura and gave her a small, appreciative smile. "Thank you for coming with me, Sakura. I appreciate your support."
Sakura returned his smile warmly. "Of course, Kakashi. I'm here for you, always."
With their visit to the cemetery complete, they left the quiet and peaceful place, hand in hand, ready to face whatever challenges and adventures lay ahead in their new journey as husband and wife.
