Maelstrom Huntsman Chapter 5, a Naruto + RWBY Crossover fanfic

Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto or RWBY.

A/N: I decided to scrap the pairing poll due to getting unanimous reviews to add both last Ch. To be fair I only started thinking about the poll due to not getting anything when bringing up having one or both be in.

So the next story poll is now up, there are 57 choices of ones I and my betas want to do plus some in that I wouldn't mind doing. You can choose 15 of the TV/Games/Movies that also had TV shows plus a couple of extras.

ALSO, I have an AO3 account now. LoneWolf01 with the same picture as on here. I actually got it almost a year ago because we were thinking of putting lemons in my Star Wars story and I decided to start putting my stories on there for a backup/the uncensored versions I.E lemons… Plus any extra/deleted scenes. And I mean that as a more describing scene I did on the stories like topless/nude scenes with Naruto and his girls fully rather than "She flashed him/looked down and blushed before turning around."

I've put up several stories on there and nothing will be only on that site and will go up here first. I'll update it here first, wait a couple of minutes if I can and then update it on AO3.

Chapter V.

Last Time.

Grasping at the fangs in the Grimm's open mouth, he tears both fangs right out of their sockets. Despite its pain, the blackhead attempts another charge at Ren, but he easily dodges and stabs one of the fangs into the King Taijitu's eye. Swiftly, Ren deals a vicious palm strike, charged with Aura, to the fang in the creature's eye.

The force is so great that the fang acts like a bullet, surging through the King Taijitu's skull, utterly destroying it and effectively killing the black side. He then dashes toward the white end with a slash.

After The Battle.

"Qrrraaww! Qrrraaww!"

After Ren slays the beasts, Nora calls out to him using her "sloth call" before swinging upside-down from a nearby tree.

"I still don't think that's what a sloth sounds like," Ren comments as Nora tapped his nose.

"Boop." Nora merely replies, earning a smile from Ren.

Now.

Beacon Cliff.

Ozpin is looking at his Scroll, a large tablet with a transparent screen before Glynda walked up to him. "The last pair has been formed, sir. Nora Valkyrie and Lie Ren. Poor boy... I can't possibly imagine those two getting along. Still, he's probably better off than Miss Nikos."

"Mmmm…"

"I don't care what his transcripts say. That Jaune fellow is not ready for this level of combat." She said as she deactivates the tablet. "I guess we'll find out soon enough. At their current pace, they should reach the temple within just a few minutes. Speaking of which, what did you use as relics this year?" She asked as he stayed silent. "Professor Ozpin?"

Ruby, Weiss, Naruto, And Natsu.

The group sat on a log watching Weiss looking around. "It's definitely this way. I mean... This way! It's definitely this way. Alright, it's official: We passed it."

"Weiss, why can't you just admit that you have no idea where we're going?" Ruby said standing up followed by the two boys.

"Because I know exactly where we're going! We're going... to... the forest temple!"

"Right!" Natsu yelled before taking off running.

And was held in place by Naruto grabbing him by the collar. "We don't know where the hell it is."

Weiss sighs, before spinning around and walked in another direction. "Just keep moving!"

Ruby then brought her hands up and spoke in a fake Weiss voice. "Oh, just keep moving! Hurry up! Waaaah! Watch where you're going!" She then crossed her arms before speaking regularly. "Why are you so bossy?"

"I'm not bossy! Don't say things like that!" Weiss yelled as she turned back around.

"Stop treating me like a kid!"

"Stop acting like a kid!"

"Should we stop this?" Natsu asked scratching his face.

"No, they should probably get this out of their system. They're now teammates." Naruto replied as Ruby glared at Weiss.

"Well, stop acting like you're perfect!"

"I'm. Not. Perfect! Not yet... But I'm still leagues better than you." Weiss said back before she turned to continue walking away.

"You don't even know me…" Ruby said lowly before Naruto pats her on the shoulder and they continued walking in the forest.

Yang And Blake.

Yang and Blake walk out of the forest and into a clearing that reveals a circular stone temple, broken and decrepit but for the platforms around its inside, holding several black and gold objects.

Yang looked at Blake before speaking. "Think this is it?"

In response, Blake gives Yang an incredulous look and heads down the hill, her partner following. They walk across the floor and observe the items on each pedestal, now shown to be chess pieces. Blake looked at a black king in confusion. "Chess pieces?"

"Some of them are missing. Looks like we weren't the first ones here." Yang commented looking to see

"Well, I guess we should pick one," Blake said as Yang approaches one of the relics.

"Hmmm…" She hummed as she studies the golden knight, then picks it up and shows it to Blake. "How about a cute little pony?"

Blake smirked at that. "Sure."

"That wasn't too hard!"

"Well, it's not like this place is very difficult to find," Blake commented before they share a smile.

Jaune And Pyrrha.

Jaune and Pyrrha are standing at the mouth of a dark cave, where drawings are seen to the side involving armed men against giant beasts.

"Think this is it?" Jaune asked Pyrrha before hearing a male voice

"Ozpin said it was a temple, not a cave."

The two turned to see two teen boys walking towards them.

The first is a lean toned young man of average height with spiky black hair which partially covers his ears, slanted dark eyes, and thin eyebrows. He dons a small, white bandage on his left cheek. He's wearing a red vest opened showing his bare chest, black fingerless gloves with rings on top of each. He has loose pants that are black on his right leg, and white on the outer thigh, and white on the left leg with it being black on the inner thigh, and red boots.

The other boy has spiky silver hair and gray-blue/dark-purple eyes a silver necklace a bracelet and a ring on his right middle finger. He has two earrings in his left ear. He's wearing a dark purple sleeveless turtleneck sweater, pauldron, and black pants and boots. He also has a huge sword on his back with a slot in it. Its rain-guard is triangular, with intricate patterns embellished on it and vertically reaches his torso.

"I doubt this is the way." The first boy said before glancing to the entrance before looking back. "I'm Shiki, this is Haru."

"Hi." Pyrrha greeted before they heard hissing from the cave, they looked to see red eyes.

"AAH!"

Yang And Blake.

"Some girl's in trouble! Blake, did you hear that?" Yang asked Blake who doesn't answer, staring at something in the sky. "Blake, did you hear that? What should we do?"

"Heads uuuuuuuup!"

They looked up to see Ruby falling towards them. Just as she's about to hit the ground panicking, Jaune comes flying through the air and crashes into Ruby, knocking her off course and sending them both into a tree by the temple.

"Oohhhh... What was that?" Ruby asked as Naruto was running along the treetops and stopped beside them.

"You two alright?"

"Eh-hem!"

Naruto looked up just as Natsu jumped out and into the temple and picked up a golden king. "Got one!"

Naruto jumped up and pulled Jaune down to the lower limb as Blake looked over at Yang. "Did your sister just fall from the sky?"

"I…"

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Before she can continue, crashing noises are in the forest stops her, and an Ursa comes out, claws swiping, just as a pink blast of energy hits it in the back and it crashes to the ground, revealing Nora was on its back. "YEEEE-HAAAAW!" She then rolls off of the creature's back and looks back. "Awwww... It's broken." She said saddened just as Ren comes up behind her

"Nora! Please... Don't ever do that again." He looks up again and notices Nora is now in the temple, staring at a golden rook relic.

"Oooohh…" She then grabs it and starts singing.

I'm queen of the castle!

"Nora!"

Nora stops dancing with the rook on her head, then salutes, dropping the relic into her hand. "Coming, Ren!"

"Did that girl just ride in on an Ursa?" Blake asked as Naruto side flipped off the branch and landed in a roll.

"I…" Yang is once again interrupted as a screech is heard from their right, as Pyrrha, Haru, and Shiki comes onto the scene as a large scorpion creature uproots entire trees in its chase after her. Pyrrha narrowly dodges its giant claws and keeps on running.

The scorpion has a jet-black exoskeleton underneath several large, white, bone-like plates upon its back, which is adorned with red markings. It has a glowing golden stinger on its tail, a pair of large pincers, and ten red eyes.

"Jaune!"

"Pyrrha!" Jaune said as he came down while Ruby jumps off and lands in a roll on the ground.

"Ruby!"

Ruby turned to see her sister was by her. "Yang!" She then raises her arms to give her sister a hug

"Nora!" Nora got between the two smiling as the scorpion Grimm continues to follow Pyrrha, Shiki, and Haru as they run.

"Did they just run all the way here with a Death Stalker on her tail?" Blake asked as Naruto and Natsu walked up to stand by the others

Yang then erupts in a small burst of fire, eyes flashing red. "I can't take it anymore! Can everyone just chill out for two seconds before something crazy happens again?!"

After two seconds, Ruby tugs on her sister sleeves. "Umm... Yang?"

Up above, Weiss is revealed to be hanging on a talon the size of her entire body that belongs to a gigantic Bird Grimm with bones on its body. "How could you leave me?!"

"I said 'jump!'"

"She's gonna fall," Blake commented as Naruto ran to a tree and quickly climbed it just as Weiss fell.

He jumped up and took a shot with his rifle and took a shot to push himself up in the air and caught Weiss before falling. He then reached out and swung off a limb to and on the ground, taking several steps forward.

The Death Stalker still hunted the trio in front of them, but they manage to land by the heroes.

"Great! The gang's all here! Now we can die together!" Yang sarcastically said before Ruby stepped forward.

"Not if I can help it! YAH!"

"Ruby, wait!"

"Let's help her!" Naruto yelled pulling Fox Bolt out and ran ahead.

Ruby, still screaming, fires Crescent Rose and charges at the oncoming Death Stalker. When the two meet, the Grimm swipes Ruby away and she is knocked back. "D-Do-Don't worry! Totally fine!"

Naruto jumps over and takes a shot with Ruby, both hitting the Grimm in the skull. "Ruby!"

"(CAW!)"

Ruby rushes towards Yang, but the Nevermore caws above them, flapping its wings and releasing lines of sharpened feathers with points that catch on Ruby's cape and prevent Yang from reaching her.

"Ruby, get out of there!"

"Explosion!"

Haru pulled his sword from his sheath and placed a stone in it at the hilt having the sword change into a blunt orange blade with "EXPLOSION" engraved near the tip and a black curvy pattern near the hilt. The sword's hilt is a rusty red, with the crossguard pointing diagonally away from the blade to the hilt.

The Death Stalker approaches, raising its golden stinger above a scared Ruby and heading down on the helpless girl.

"Ruby!"

Haru jumped in front of Ruby and swung his sword having an explosion hit the Grimm.

BOOM!

Shiki flipped over Haru and kicked the beast in the face having a gunshot come off his boot as Natsu followed with an uppercut. Weiss ran over and froze the Death Stalker's stinger to the ground

"You're dim-witted and hyperactive, and don't even get me started on your fighting style. And I suppose I can be a bit... difficult... but if we're going to do this, we're going to have to do this together. So if you quit trying to show off, I'll be... nicer." Weiss said pulling her sword up and walked away.

"I want you to know I can do this."

"Ozpin knows you can Ruby, otherwise he wouldn't have let you in early," Naruto said pulling the bolt on his rifle and took another shot at the Grim.

Yang rushes up to Ruby and hugs her which Ruby grunts at upon receiving. "So happy you're okay!"

"Guys?"

They looked to see Jaune walking to them. "That thing's circling back! What are we gonna do?"

"Look, there's no sense in dilly-dallying. Our objective is right in front of us." Weiss said having the teens stare at the relics.

"She's right. Our mission is to grab an artifact and make it back to the Cliffs. There's no point in fighting these things." Ruby said as the others ran to pick up their relic, Haru and Shiki getting a gold king.

Ruby and Weiss picked up the gold knight and Jaune and Pyrrha pick up a gold rook. The Death Stalker continues to fight its bonds, cracking the ice a little in the process. "Time we left!" Ren yelled out having the others nod.

"Right. Let's go!" Ruby said before everyone minus her sister and Blake followed.

"What is it?" Blake asked as Yang stared proudly at Ruby as she leaps on a boulder and motions the group onward.

"Nothing…" She moves on as Blake smiles in realization and follows.

The group headed out of the forest and into another abandoned series of structures as the Nevermore follows them from the air. They spread out when it passes above, concealing themselves behind some of the stone blocks with their allies as it perches on a high column and caws.

"Well, that's great!" Yang yelled as Naruto glanced around for a vantage point Jaune looks behind to see the Death Stalker bursting onto the scene.

"Ah, man, run!"

The group emerges from their hiding spots, causing the Nevermore to rise into the air. Naruto rolled over a column before jumping up blocks going to the top of an arch before kneeling down and aimed his sniper at the Nevermore.

Bang!

He took several shots as the others ran dodging feathers before Shiki, Haru, and Natsu all attacked the Death Stalker at the same time at the head. Haru looked up at the stinger before jumping up and cuts it having it fall on the Grimm's head. And had Nora, her weapon in hammer mode hit it into the head, killing it.

Ren looked back at Nora before yelling. "Nora, distract it!"

Nora obliges, running out from her block and jumping through the feather projectiles before reaching behind her and launching several heart-topped shells from her grenade launcher, bursting into pink electricity when they hit the Nevermore and causing it to retreat.

The group race over the ancient stone bridge, not noticing the Nevermore closing in on them until it uses its giant wings to shatter the path right in the middle, forcing, Ruby, Weiss, Shiki, Natsu, Haru, Yang, Nora, and Jaune closer to the central collection of columns and leaving Blake, Naruto, Ren, and Pyrrha on the other side.

Ruby fires at the retreating Nevermore while Blake jumps off the edge. Blake sees the Nevermore above her and launches her whip so the gun's blade sinks into the edge of the bridge, circling around and leaping onto the aerial Grimm's back. She dashes all over its body, slashing the entire time, before jumping off and landing on the ruined platform at the top of the columns next to Ruby, then going over to Yang and Weiss. "It's tougher than it looks!"

Yang, readying her Ember Celica looked at the Grimm. "Then let's hit it with everything we got!"

The Nevermore approaching, Ruby, Blake, Weiss, and Yang set their weapons to fire a barrage of blasts at the bird, which it either dodges or takes harmlessly until it crashes through the columns and platform. The girls leap from one section of falling stone to the next until they reach the higher bridge on top, just below the cliffs.

"None of this is working!" Weiss sighed watched the Nevermore fly around.

Ruby, watching Blake whip over to another section of the area and Yang firing round after flaming round at the Grimm. "I have a plan! Cover me!" She blasts away as Weiss raises her blade and heads into the fray.

Yang is still burning through her ammo on the beast, landing a blow at its face and causing it to head right towards her, but she leaps for its open maw and forces the beak wide as she attacks. "I! Hope! You're! Hung-gry!" She looks behind her and jumps back from its mouth onto a ruin, causing the creature to crash into the cliffs

The Nevermore recovers quickly, and Yang smiles as she spots Ruby and Blake on the broken columns with Weiss rushing to the battle. Yang passes her while the Nevermore starts to fly back up, but Weiss hops over to the ruin it's lifting off of and freezes the tip of its feathery tail to the ground, leaving it stuck in the same spot despite its flapping. Weiss back-flips into a snowflake-circle jump and lands on the other side, running to the group.

Blake fires the pistol portion of Gambol Shroud over to Yang, and the two tighten it between the columns so Ruby can jump on the center with Crescent Rose and bend it back into Weiss' black sigil, right next to the caster. "Of course you would come up with this idea."

Ruby just got ready at that. "Think you can make the shot?"

"Hmm! Can I!"

"Can't?" Ruby asked raising an eyebrow.

"Of course I can!"

Ruby looks forward and pumps Crescent Rose as Weiss turns the circle from black to red and releases Ruby at such a speed that the ground behind her launch cracks, rose petals flying from her ascent. With each new shot, she gets closer and closer to the trapped Grimm until her scythe catches the Nevermore's neck in its blade and causes them both to fall to the cliff wall. Weiss raises her sword and creates a series of white circles up the wall, which Ruby dashes through by firing the entire way up.

Yang, Blake, and an exhausted Weiss watch her climb up with the bird in her grasp until, both warrior and monster crying out, Ruby reaches the top of the cliff, circles up, fires one last shot, and rends the Nevermore's head from its shoulders in a shower of petals. She lands beside the severed head as the body of the giant Nevermore falls lifeless to the ruins and crevice below while the girls and, farther away, Jaune, Pyrrha, Nora, and Ren watch in amazement.

Ruby, her cape and petals flowing with the wind, looks down to her friends as they peer up. "Well... That was a thing!" Yang yelled up

Beacon

Ozpin stood in front of the others as he formed the teams for everyone. He then looked to four boys standing beside him on the stage. "Russel Thrush."

Russel is a slim boy of average height. He stands at the same height as the other boys but one. His head is shaved with a light-green mohawk on the top of it.

He's wearing a hoodie with the sleeves cut off, and two bracers on his arms extending from the wrist to just below the elbow. These bracers have a silver-colored emblem printed on them.

Beneath the hoodie, Russel's wearing a pale-green, long-sleeved shirt. He has a brown strap around his chest holding a spiked spaulder to his left shoulder. He also has dark-gray pants. His boots seem to be made of a thick brown material and go up to his knees.

"Cardin Winchester."

Cardin has burnt-orange hair that is combed backward with a slight peak at the front and indigo eyes. He's wearing silver-gray armor with gold trim.

The chest plate sports a bird with its wings outstretched. Underneath the armor, he is wearing a black shirt with red trimmings and black pants with a red belt tied around his waist.

Cardin is very tall as he is standing at least a head above the rest of his teammates.

"Dove Bronzewing."

Dove has light-brown hair that is combed to the left. He keeps his eyes nearly closed, at a very noticeable squint. He's wearing tan-colored armor with a belt that bears a dove on its buckle.

He also has vambraces on his arms that are the same color as the rest of his armor. Underneath the armor, he has a black shirt and black pants with a black scarf around his neck.

"Sky Lark."

Sky has blue eyes and long, combed back, dark blue hair. He's wearing dark gray armor with light gray edges, as well as vambraces of the same style. Underneath his armor, he has a black, long-sleeved V-neck shirt and black pants.

"The four of you retrieved the black bishop pieces. From this day forward you will work together as… Team CRDL (Cardinal)."

The students that were already placed in a team politely clapped at that before Ozpin continued. "Lead by… Cardin Winchester."

They walked off the stage as Ren, Nora, Pyrrha, and Jaune walked on the stage.

"Jaune Arc. Lie Ren. Pyrrha Nikos. Nora Valkyrie. The four of you retrieved the white rook pieces. From this day forward you will work together as… Team JNPR (Juniper.)" He said as Nora hugged Ren and giggled. "Lead by… Jaune Arc!"

"Huh? L-Lead by…?" Jaune said as Ozpin nodded.

"Congratulations, young man." He said as Pyrrha punched Jaune in the shoulder, knocking him over.

They left as Ruby, Yang, Weill, and Blake walked up.

"Blake Belladonna. Ruby Rose. Weiss Schnee. And Yang Xiao Long. The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward you will work together as… Team RWBY (Ruby.) Lead by… Ruby Rose."

"I'm so proud of you!" Yang yelled hugging her sister before Naruto, Haru, Shiki, and Natsu walked up.

"And our final team, Shiki Granbell, Haru Glory, Natsu Dragneel, and Naruto Uzumaki, you four picked the white king pieces. From this day Forward you will work together as Team SHNN (Shin) led by, Shiki Granbell!" The team walked off the stage as he took a sip of his cocoa and looked through a window. "Looks like things are shaping up to be an… Interesting year."

Unknown Location.

In a room filled with shelves and a desk in the back, Roman Torchwick is talking on his phone. The conversation ends, and Roman angrily slams the phone down, sighing. He holds a cigar to his mouth and puts his lighter to the end, just as a man in a gray mask and black hood comes with a trolley. Roman holds out a collection of Lien, which he places on the table and the man takes. "Open it."

The masked man does so with a crowbar, revealing a large number of Dust crystals of varying colors, orange, blue, white, red, green, cyan, gold, yellow, and more. Roman picks up a blue gem in his hand and looks at the loot. "We're gonna need more men…"

He then looks to a map above the desk, showing Vale and various districts and areas of crossed-out locations, all leading into a specially-circled place, Beacon.
