I do not own nada.
"Why don't we celebrate Cinco de Mayo?" Rex asked his brother.
Rex frowned when his brother chuckled. "What's so funny?"
"It always makes me laugh when you speak Spanish." He said with amusement.
"Yeah, yeah, my Spanish sucks. I know. But what about Cinco de Mayo? i mean, isn't a Mexican holiday?" Rex persisted.
Caesar sighed. "Rex, Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Mexico's victory over the Second French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. It was a minor battle. Not a big deal in Mexico. Mainly, now it's an excuse for people to get drunk on cheap alcohol."
"And don't forget the cheap tacos!" Rex added.
"Is there something you want?" Caesar looked at his brother.
"Well, we haven't hung out in a while and I was hoping we can maybe go down to the city and pick up some burritos and tacos." Rex suddenly sounded shy.
Caesar wasn't always the most observant brother but at that moment he realized his brother was just looking for an excuse to hang out with his big brother.
"You know what, Rex? I think its time for you to learn about our history."
Rex's face fell until Caesar added, "Learn about our history over the food of our people."
"Now you're talking." Rex's face lit up.
"Come on Rex. Let me tell you about Mexican Independence…"
"Um, you're serious about the history part?" Rex asked nervously.
"Don't worry Rex it'll be interesting." Caesar promised.
"Exciting like explaining the internal combustion engine?" Rex rolled his eyes. "Well, at least there'll be food."
"And real authentic Mexican taco filling… like grasshopper." Caesar walked out the room.
Rex who had been following stopped in his tracks. He made a face. "Grasshopper?" He gulped.
Updated for a special day.
