Chapter 2: The Choosing Pt 2
(Intro)
"In Dragon City, every kid dreams about gearing up and teaming with a 200 mile per hour Dragon. Or at least I, Artha Tannis Penn, used to. But that all changed when the Great Dragon Phoenix chose me as its vessel. When Beau, the Dragon of legend, chose me to be the Dragon Booster, the hero who's supposed to stop an upcoming Human-Dragon war. But it also made me a target for the Eye of the Dragon Crew, who tried to steal Beau and kidnap me for their master, Word Paynn, who's trying to restart the war. So, now, here I am in the All City Races with my father, my siblings, and my 2 most trusted friends, looking for the same crew, racing to learn to release the Dragon and save the world from Word's plans before it's too late."
Artha and Beau were in the final stretch of their current race. The other 2 racers got ahead of them. Artha activated White Draconium Aero Gear as they came to a big jump over a chasm, where the other 2 racers jumped. Beau leapt across the jump with the aid of the White Gear and safely landed on the other side. But then, one of the other racers ran up beside Beau and snapped the White Gear's right wing off. But then Artha and Beau noticed something and rode up ahead. The racer saw that he was heading towards a wall. He screamed just before he crashed into it. Artha and Beau crossed the finish line in second place as they caught up with the other racer.
Later, they met back up with their family and friends at the pit row. "Nice racing out there, Artha." Connor said. "Well, at least you didn't finish last this time." Parmon said. "Parm!" Derek mumbled. "It's okay, Derek. At least I'm getting better." Artha said. "Yeah. Keep it up and you just might be the new talk of Dragon City." Lance said. "They're right. We just might end up next to Kitt's reputation." Beau said. "But seriously, Artha. If you don't make substantial improvements to your overall racing effectiveness, and gains to the point standings, you're going to be dropped from the All City Racing Circuit. And then what will we do?" Parmon asked. "Parm's right, bro. If you and Beau are ever gonna unlock the full power of the Great Dragon Phoenix, you're both gonna have to improve your racing skills." Fallon said. "I know, guys. If Beau and I are really destined to use this power to stop Word Paynn, we have to race. We have to get better." Artha said as he looked at his amulet. "And we will get better, Artha. Together." Beau said, comforting Artha. "I know. Thanks, Beau." Artha said. "And don't worry, Artha. You and Beau won't be alone. You got us." Charlie said. "Yeah. We'll be by your side every step of the way." Isla said. "Right. We're your buds, your troops, your fellowship." Parmon said. "Your racing team!" Lance exclaimed. Kitt, Connor and the others nodded. "Yeah. Thanks, guys. But look at our gear. It's a mess." Artha said, gesturing to Beau's damaged gear. "Hey, don't talk like that. Gear can be replaced. But I know that with or without gear, you and Beau can unlock the power you both have inside. I believe in that." Kitt said, taking Artha's hands. "Thanks, Kitt. You're the best." Artha said. Kitt blushed as she smiled.
But then, Parmon cleared his throat, interrupting the moment. "Anyway, Artha, I've got a plan. For the next race, try this." He said, holding out one of their vid-game controllers. "Our vid-game controller?" Artha asked. "Ah-ah-ah. It was our vid-game controller. Now it's my latest invention." Parmon said. "No offense, Parm, but how's that controller gonna help Artha in the next race?" Connor asked. "You see, Mr. Penn, I took the wireless remote scanning interface to the racing game we designed and reprogrammed the binary output containment chip to react to real race conditions." Parmon explained. "And then I put the silly old holo-vid communications link in the forward cranial shielding…of…Artha's…" He stopped after realizing his audience was dazed out from all the big talk, clearing his throat. "In smaller words, Artha will be able to race Beau just like in the game." He said with smaller words. Artha, Beau and the others perked up in understanding. "Can I get one of those?" Kitt asked. "I figured you'd ask. So, I had a second one made just for you and Wyldfyr." Parmon said, holding out a second one for Kitt.
Meanwhile, Moordryd and Cain were watching them from afar. "Well, well, well. They survived. And it looks like Artha's taken up Street Racing." Moordryd said. "Yeah. Beau is quite the Dragon to race against." Cain agreed. "Get my disguise ready. And prep Decepshun for racing." Moordryd said. "You're going into the race?" Cain asked. "Yes. If the Street Crew are gonna try to make another attempt on capturing Artha and Beau, I have to help them." Moordryd said. Cain understood.
Later, it was time for the second race. "Good day to you, my brave All City Street Racers! I am Race Marshal Budge!" The announcer, Marshal Budge, greeted his audience. The racers all gathered at the starting gate. Artha and Kitt were next to each other. "Today's prize is 10,000 Drackles! Plus, a new set of Level 5 Green Ramming Gear!" The audience cheered as Budge unveiled a new piece of Green Gear. Artha and Kitt smiled at each other, knowing that this gear could be a big help to their upcoming battle. "Breathtaking. This is a speed and agility race! But in Dragon City, there's always a little contact, eh?" Budge asked, laughing before coughing, ruining his effect. "Okay, Parm." Artha said, looking at Kitt, who nodded. "Here it goes." The 2 activated their holo-screens. "I can't believe it!" Artha exclaimed. "They actually work!" Kitt exclaimed. "Hmph. You 2 don't have to be all that surprised about it." Parmon complained before walking off to join Artha's family to watch the race.
"Psst." A voice whispered. Artha and Kitt turned to see Moordryd in his disguise on Decepshun. "Moordryd?" Artha asked. "No time to talk. I'm here to warn you." Moordryd said. "What's up?" Kitt asked. "I believe that the Street Crew will make another shot to capture you and Beau during the race, Artha." Moordryd explained. "We'll have to be careful, Artha." Kitt said. "Correction: I have to be careful. It's me and Beau that Word is after." Artha said. "But remember, you're not alone here, Artha. We're here to help." Kitt said. Wyldfyr growled in agreement. Moordryd and Decepshun nodded. "They're right, Artha. We'll never be alone with our friends around." Beau said. Artha smiled. "Then let's do this." He said.
The racers got ready as the track started to glow different colors. First red. Then yellow. Beau dragged his claws across the track, getting ready to race. Finally, the track glowed green, telling the racers GO! Connor, Parmon and Artha's siblings cheered as the race started.
Artha and Beau were nearly falling behind. "Artha, use the vid-gear." Parmon said over the com-link. Artha activated the vid-gear. "Now just race like you do in the vid-game." Parmon instructed. "You ready to do this, Beau?" Artha asked. "You know it, Artha." Beau said. As they made the first turn, one of the Dragons tripped and caused its racer to crash. "Artha! Don't move your controller so far forward! You'll drain all of Beau's energy!" Kitt exclaimed. "Do it like this!" She activated Wyldfyr's Red Thruster Gear and sped off ahead. "Okay, Beau, it's time. We just have to remember what Dad said. Relax and release the Dragon." Artha said. "Yes. Release the Dragon." Beau said. "Release the Dragon." Artha whispered. They both closed their eyes and concentrated. Suddenly, Beau began to pick up speed and a vortex was formed around him and Artha. And they've sped past Kitt, Moordryd and the other racers. "Alright, Artha!" Kitt cheered. As Artha and Beau continued, they passed by the Street Crew leader, Rancydd. "Hehe. There you are, stable boy." The leader muttered sinisterly.
"Drac! You've just reached vortex velocity! You're going almost 200!" Parmon exclaimed through the vid-game's com-link. Artha and Beau opened their eyes and lost concentration, slowing down. "What happened? What'd we do? How'd we do that?" Artha asked. "It must've been our concentration to release the Dragon." Beau guessed. "Wicked." Artha said.
Meanwhile, Rancydd contacted one of his crewmembers, Swayy, through his own vid-gear. "Get down to the final turn and plant a Disrupter Flash near the rail!" He ordered. "Yes, sir! This new Dragon Booster is obviously quite the street racer." Swayy said. "Just do it!" Rancydd exclaimed before he sped up and passed Artha and Beau. "Welcome to Dragon Racing, Penn." He fired a disc-like box from an Orange Gear on his Dragon's back. The others saw this through their binoculars. "Artha! It's a Drag-Box!" Connor exclaimed through the com-link to warn his eldest son. Artha and Beau gasped as the box exploded and released 4 little Dragons.
The little Dragons landed on Beau, crawled their way towards the gear and started chewing on them. "Artha, what's going on?" Beau asked. "They're eating the gear!" Artha exclaimed. Beau was shocked by this. "Guys, how do we get rid of these things?" Artha asked through the com-link with a panic tone. But Connor and Parmon weren't listening. They were preoccupied with something else. "Uh, Dad? Parm? We got a situation here!" Charlie exclaimed. "We sure do." Connor said, spotting Swayy planting the disrupter flash on the turn. "That's Swayy from the Dragon Eye Crew! She's planted a disrupter flash on the final turn!" Parmon exclaimed with worry. "Artha, did you hear that?" Holly asked over the com-link.
"Yeah, I heard." Artha said. "Disrupter Flash. That's not good." Beau said. "But we've got bigger things to worry about. How do we get these little Dragons off of us?" Artha asked, looking over the gear as the little Dragons continue chewing it. "Wait. Artha, try to control them." Beau suggested. "What? Control them?" Artha asked in confusion. "Yes. The Great Dragon Phoenix can command all species of Dragons. So, you can take command of these Drag-Box Dragons." Beau said. Artha thought about this and nodded. "Let's do it." He said. He closed his eyes and sent a mental command to the little Dragons. They stopped chewing through the gear and perched themselves behind Artha, chittering happily. "Looks like you have some new little siblings of your own now, Beau." Artha said. "Looks that way, partner." Beau said.
They started catching up to Rancydd. But just then, as they caught up to him, Rancydd pulled out an Energy Drain Whip. "Look out, Beau! Energy Drain Whip!" Artha exclaimed. "And now your energy will be mine!" Rancydd cackled as he prepared to latch his whip onto Beau. Suddenly, Wyldfyr ran up and caught the whip in his mouth. "What?!" Rancydd exclaimed. "Leave our friend alone!" Kitt exclaimed. "Why you bright-haired bimbo!" Rancydd exclaimed as he tried to pull the whip out of Wyldfyr's mouth. Just then, Decepshun bashed into Rancydd from the other side. "Another one?!" Rancydd exclaimed in annoyance. "Go, Artha! It's all on you and Beau now!" Moordryd exclaimed. "You hear that, Beau? It's you and me now, buddy." Artha said. Just then, they came right up to the Disrupter Flash. "Is that a Disrupter Flash?" Kitt asked in worry. "It looks like it." Moordryd said. "We gotta time it just right." Artha said as they got closer to the Disruptor Flash. "3…2…1!" Beau leapt over the Disrupter Flash. "Alright, Artha!" Kitt cheered. "NO!" Rancydd exclaimed. "Oh, yes. And goodbye to you." Moordryd said. Wyldfyr pulled on the whip, causing Rancydd's Dragon to stumble and fall in front of the Disrupter Flash just as it activated. "Oh no! Disrupter blackout! Eject!" Rancydd exclaimed. Just before the Disrupter Flash went off, Rancydd ejected from his seat, but still got caught in the blast. Connor, Parmon and Artha's siblings cheered as Artha and Beau landed safely and race for the finish line with Kitt, Wyldfyr, Moordryd and Decepshun following close behind. Rancydd popped his parachute, but he crashed into a billboard and dropped into a dumpster.
Unfortunately, Artha and Beau weren't exactly in better shape. Beau was looking tired and was slowly walking towards the finish line. "Beau, are you okay?" Artha asked in worry. "My…energy. It's…nearly depleted." Beau said. Kitt and Moordryd stopped Wyldfyr and Decepshun in their tracks as they looked at Artha and Beau with worry. Then they turned and saw the other racers approaching. "Artha! We'll hold them off!" Kitt exclaimed. "Win this race, buddy!" Moordryd exclaimed. Artha smiled at his friends before turning back to the finish line. "Alright, Beau. Let's do this. You believe in me and I believe in you." He said. "You got it, partner." Beau said as he started to use what's left of his strength to reach the finish line. Meanwhile, as the other racers headed towards the finish line, Kitt and Wyldfyr actually swatted the first one aside with Wyldfyr's tail. The racers and audience were shocked by this. "Unbelievable! Kitt Raada Wonn and her unknown accomplice are actually blocking the other racers for newcomer, Artha Tannis Penn, son of great Dragon Stable Master, Connor Jacksun Penn!" Budge announced with a surprised tone. Moordryd and Decepshun pounced on a racer who attempted to get past them. Wyldfyr and Decepshun snarled at the other racers daringly. Meanwhile, Artha and Beau were just inches to the finish line. "We're almost there, Beau. We can make it. I believe in you." Artha said. "So do I." Beau said. And with that, Artha and Beau crossed the finish line. Connor, Parmon, Artha's siblings and the audience cheered as this happened. "UNBELIEVABLE! THE WINNER OF THIS ALL CITY RACE IS NEWCOMER ARTHA TANNIS PENN!" Budge announced. "Way to go, Beau. We did it." Artha said. "We sure did, Artha." Beau said. Even the little Dragons chittered happily. "Artha!" Kitt called. Artha turned around just as she wrapped him in a tight hug. "You did it! You did it!" Kitt cheered. "I know. Thanks to you guys." Artha said as he hugged back. "Congrats, Artha. You deserve it." Moordryd said as he walked up. "Thanks, Moor. Good looking out." Artha said, giving his best friend a fist-bump.
Later, the Penn family, Parmon and Kitt walked towards the exit. "That was quite the win out there, son. We knew you could do it." Connor said, feeling proud of his eldest son. "Yeah. We're gonna eat big tonight." Erika said as she counted some of the Drackles in her hand. "And you got this sweet new piece of gear for the next race." Kitt said as she examined the Green Gear Artha won before giving it back to Artha. "Not to mention these cute little terrors." Lance said, carrying one of the little Dragons who playfully licked his face. "Thanks, guys. Now Beau and I are one step closer to unlocking our true power to save the world. Hopefully, it doesn't take too long. For all we know, Word's forces are probably plotting something new by now." Artha said. Rancydd and his crew quietly followed them. "This isn't over, Dragon Booster. Your power will belong to our master." He said before they left. Moordryd, Cain and Decepshun were listening close by.
Later that night, the group returned to what was left of Penn Stables. "What are we doing back at your stables?! We can't hide here! It's too dangerous!" Parmon said. "We're not here to hide, Parm." Artha said. Connor walked up to a panel, unlocked and opened a door to a storeroom. "Drac! The rest of your old gear, Dad!" Benny exclaimed in shock. "You guys pack up the rig. I'll be right back." Artha said before heading back towards the house. As the Penn family and Parmon started gathering up the gear, Kitt just stared after Artha.
Artha sat in Connor's office and pulled out a fire damaged picture of the whole Penn family, including their mother, Fira. The picture was taken when Artha and his octuplet siblings were just 12-years-old, and the quadruplets were only 6-years-old. Parmon, Kitt and Moordryd, when they were 12-years-old, were in it too. A day after the picture was taken, Fira disappeared. Since then, she was thought to be dead. "I wish you could've seen it, Mom. I was chosen by the Great Dragon Phoenix. To be the Dragon Booster. I don't know how, but Beau and I are gonna stop Word Paynn from starting another Human-Dragon war. And I'm gonna take care of my family and my friends, just like you would've wanted, Mom. I promise." He said, letting a tear fall. "Thinking about your mother again?" Kitt asked as she entered. "Yeah. And I intend to keep my promise." Artha said. Kitt brought him into a comforting hug. "I know you will. And we'll do it together." She said. Artha smiled as he hugged her back. Meanwhile, Moordryd, Cain and Decepshun, in disguise, watched the scene from afar, waiting for the Street Crew to show up.
Later, as Wyldfyr and Cyrano played with the little Dragons outside, Beau stood in his old stable, fussing at the wall and the bracket on it as Artha came in. "Beau? What is it?" Artha asked. "There is something that you must see, Artha." Beau said. He pushed the bracket aside and opened a secret door in the wall. "So, it's still here." Connor said as he walked in. "Dad? What is this?" Artha asked. "You'll see." Connor said as he and Beau walked into the room. Artha hesitated for a second before he followed inside before the door closed, revealing to be the inside of an elevator. "Take us down, Beau." Connor said. Beau pressed a button with his chin and elevator went down rapidly, making Artha scream.
The elevator came to a stop at the very bottom. Artha, Connor and Beau exited and moved slowly along a passageway lined with Dragon Priest statues. "What is this place?" Artha asked. "Welcome to the Caverns of the Dragon Priests, Artha. This is where the Dragon Priests gave me and your mother the amulet and foretold Beau's birth and the new upcoming Human-Dragon war." Connor explained. Artha watched as the statues started to glow. But neither of them noticed that one of the statues didn't glow when they passed it, revealing it to be a living female Dragon Priest. She moved behind them, making a noise that startled Artha. They turned to see the Dragon Priest walk towards them from the shadows. "Do not be afraid. I knew you would return." The Dragon Priest said as she walked past them. "You and your Dragon are the ones, Artha Penn. The vessel of the Great Dragon Phoenix and the Gold Dragon of Legend." Artha was surprised that the Dragon Priest knew his name. "How do you know my name? Who are you?" He asked.
Meanwhile, Parmon, Kitt and Artha's siblings were gathering up Connor's gear. The quadruplets walked over to the storeroom with a mag-rig. "Make sure to grab some Level 3 Red Thruster Gear, kids." Parmon said. "And grab some Level 2 Blue Balance." Kitt added. Suddenly, the Street Crew appeared behind them, surprising them. "Where's Artha Penn?!" Rancydd demanded. "It's the Street Crew!" Parmon cried. "Isla, Jessica, Kurt, Lance, run!" Erika exclaimed. But too late. Rancydd fired Green Trapping Gear at them.
"I am Mortis. For years, I have watched you and your siblings. The Great Dragon Phoenix has chosen you to be its vessel. And the one has brought you here, Dragon Booster." The Dragon Priest, Mortis, explained. Then she turned around and slammed the end of her staff to the floor. 2 streams of gold energy came from where she struck, flowing to an open area and forming the star mark on Artha's amulet and Beau's head. As it contracted, a golden arm band rose out from a portal in the floor. "The ancient Gold Draconium Armor is yours." Mortis said. "Armor? But where's the rest of it?" Artha asked in confusion. "Looks can be deceiving, Artha." Connor said. "He's right, Artha. There's more to an object that just what it looks like." Beau said. Artha looked at the arm band, thinking that Connor and Beau are probably right.
Meanwhile, the Street Crew held Parmon, Kitt and Artha's siblings hostage. Wyldfyr, Cyrano and the little Dragons were snared in Green Trapping Gear. Rancydd held Lance up by his collar as he took his communicator and tossed it aside. "No tricks. Where's your brother?" He demanded. Just then, there was a shout. "What?" Everyone turned to see as Moordryd and Cain, still in disguise, run in on their dragons and leap over Rancydd, making him drop Lance. Moordryd and Cain kicked up a dust cloud, blinding the other Street Crew members. "Free your Dragons! Get to the bridge!" Moordryd exclaimed. Kitt, Parmon and Artha's siblings hurried to the Dragons and freed them before heading for the bridge connecting to the stables. Charlie helped Derek due to his injured leg. Lance found his communicator and grabbed it. But then the Street Crew surrounded them as they backed towards the bridge. "Kitt, care to heat things up?" Cain asked. "With pleasure." Kitt said. She activated Wyldfyr's thrusters and created a firewall between them and the Street Crew. "Lance! Call Artha! Kitt can't keep up that firewall for long!" Moordryd exclaimed.
Meanwhile, back in the cavern, Artha had placed the arm band on his wrist. "You must learn to release the secret powers of you and Beau." Mortis said. Artha looked at his amulet and saw that it matched a socket on the arm band. "But how will I know when we're ready?" Artha asked. But to his surprise, Mortis was gone. "You will know." Mortis' voice echoed through the cavern as she disappeared back into the shadows. "Artha! We're in trouble! It's the Street Crew! We need help!" Lance called through the communicator. Artha turned to Beau and Connor, who nodded. "Hang on, Lance! I'm on my way!" He exclaimed into the communicator. "You ready, partner?" Beau asked as Artha mounted him. "You know it, Beau. It's time." Artha said. He took the star from the amulet and placed it in the socket on the arm band. "Release the DRAGON!" As the arm band started to glow brightly, Artha's body was then surrounded by streams of gold energy as the Draconium Armor started forming all over his body.
Meanwhile, as Kitt and Wyldfyr continued to hold the Street Crew at bay, Wyldfyr's energy was depleted, causing his thrusters to run out of fire. "Oh no." Kitt said in worry. "Looks like the heat's on you now." Rancydd said tauntingly. Parmon, Kitt and Artha's siblings were now worried. But then Moordryd and Cain stepped in the way. "You wanna get to them, you gotta go through us." Moordryd dared. "With pleasure. Get them." Rancydd said as he ordered his crew. Suddenly, there was a loud roar. Everyone looked up at the roof of the stables was Beau, back in his original gold color, and Artha, dressed in the golden Dragon Booster Armor. "No way! It's the Gold Dragon!" Swayy exclaimed in shock. "And he's chosen a Dragon Booster!" Rancydd exclaimed. Parmon, Kitt and Artha's siblings gave a big smile as Beau gave a loud roar. "GET THAT DRAGON! GET THEM BOTH!" Rancydd ordered. As the Street Crew prepared to capture them, Artha and Beau leapt down from the roof, snagged some of the Street Crew and sent them flying with a Mag-Blast. But then Rancydd and Swayy backed them up against the edge. "Perfect. No escape, hero." Rancydd said with a smirk. "That's what you think." Connor's voice said. Parmon, Kitt, Moordryd, Cain and Artha's siblings turned to see Connor toss a Flash Stick. It landed before the Street Crew as they gasped in surprise before it went off, stunning them. Artha and Beau took advantage of this and swept the Street Crew Dragons off their feet.
Parmon, Kitt and Artha's siblings ran over to Connor as Artha and Beau came to a stop near them. Artha unveiled his visor to show that it was him. "Nice throw, Dad." He whispered. Connor winked as he gave a thumb's up. Parmon, Kitt and Artha's siblings were surprised and happy to see that it was him. He quickly shushed them, lowers his visor and took off with Beau. "It's Artha!" Lance whispered. "Incredible!" Charlie whispered. "He really is the Dragon Booster!" Holly whispered. Kitt watched dreamily as Artha and Beau took off.
As the Street Crew recovered, Artha and Beau confronted them. Beau snarled at them, making them run away in fear. "Where are you going?! Fight, you cowards!" Rancydd exclaimed. But then he saw Artha and Beau confronting him, forcing him back against the Penn's Stables sign that was blown down from the fire, trapping him. "You're next." Artha said venomously. Just then, Rancydd saw that his Dragon on the side was in perfect line with Beau. He tapped his wrist control and activated the Dragon's Green Ramming Gear, firing a Ramming Ball. Artha deflected it with his arm guard towards Rancydd, who ducked in time as it bounced off the sign and hit the support pole. That caused the support pin to release, making the platform it was holding tilt downwards and breaking the bridge connecting it to the stables. Parmon, Connor and Artha's siblings were on the platform as it began tilting and began to slide to the edge. Moordryd, Cain and their Dragons were also caught on the platform and started sliding to the edge. Kitt and Wyldfyr tried to leap to safety, but Kitt fell off Wyldfyr's back as he leapt across the bridge. "Artha! The others!" Beau exclaimed as Wyldfyr ran past them. As a heavy Dragon sculpture slid towards the edge, breaking the guardrail as it fell over the edge. Moordryd and Cain's Dragons managed to dig their claws into the platform, but Kitt, Parmon, Connor and Artha's siblings fell over the edge. "NO!" Artha cried before he and Beau rushed over to help them. "Looks like you don't have time for me." Rancydd said before he took off.
Artha and Beau leapt across the bridge and onto the platform, sliding over to the edge. Moordryd, Cain and their Dragons followed after he passed them. Once at the edge, Artha noticed a support wire hanging over the edge. They looked over and saw Connor, Parmon, Kitt and Artha's siblings hanging onto the wire for dear life. Beau and the other Dragons grabbed the wire and began to haul it back up. "Hold on, guys! We've got you!" Artha called. "As long as the wire holds out!" Moordryd exclaimed. Connor and Parmon managed to pull themselves up first, then helped Artha's siblings. But Lance started to lose his grip. "I can't hold on!" He cried as he started to slip. He lost his grip and started to fall. But Kitt managed to grab him. "I've got you!" She grunted. She hauled Lance above her just as the wire began to break. Parmon grabbed Lance and pulled him up. But as Kitt reached up for Parmon's hand, the wire finally broke. "No!" Parmon exclaimed. Kitt screamed as she fell. "KITT! NO!" Artha screamed. He and Beau raced towards the edge. "Artha! What are you doing?!" Parmon asked. "What we have to DO!" Artha exclaimed as he and Beau leapt off the edge and dived after Kitt. "Artha! Dragons leap! They can't FLY!" Parmon exclaimed. "Artha!" Lance cried in worry. Moordryd, Cain and Artha's siblings looked on with worry. 'Come on, Artha. Believe in Beau. Believe in each other.' Connor thought.
As they dived towards her, Artha managed to grab Kitt, hugging her close. "You got me, Artha. But who's got us?" Kitt asked in worry. As they continued to dive. "Artha, it's time to spread our wings." Beau said. Artha didn't understand, but chose to believe in Beau. They both closed their eyes and they started to glow gold. And suddenly, 2 big wings formed on Beau's sides. Beau managed to pull up and fly themselves to safety across the wind currents. The others saw this through their binoculars. "They're alright! Beau's got…superpowers!" Benny exclaimed in shock as he handed his binoculars to Lance. "Ratch!" Lance cheered. "Artha and Beau really are the Chosen Ones!" Moordryd exclaimed in shock. "Way to go, Artha. I knew you and Beau could do it." Connor said with a proud smile.
Artha, Kitt and Beau continued to fly through the air until they safely landed on a nearby rooftop. Artha and Kitt dismounted Beau and looked at each other as Artha removed his helmet. "Are you okay, Kitt?" Artha asked. "I am now." Kitt said before she threw herself at Artha and hugged him tightly and emotionally. Artha hugged her back just as tight in relief. But then, Kitt noticed something about Artha's hair. "Artha, what the Drac happened to your hair?" She asked as she pulled away. Artha was confused until he looked at his own reflection in his helmet and saw that his black hair changed to gold with highlights of bright orange and scarlet. "Whoa! I think it's a side effect to my new powers." He said in shock and surprise. "It is. When we released the Dragon to grow my wings, our energy caused a surge that changed your hair color." Beau explained. Artha understood this. "If it's any consolation, you look better with gold hair. Along with those highlights." Kitt said as she blushed. Artha blushed as she said that.
Meanwhile, the Street Crew reported back to Word. "The Dragon and the vessel have eluded you…and are already discovering their secret powers!" Word exclaimed angrily as he threw a Dragon skull at Rancydd, who dodged it. "Sir, we were caught by surprise. There wasn't anything we could do." He said. "If Moordryd had been with you, the Great Dragon Phoenix's vessel and the Dragon would be mine." Word said. Then he noticed that Moordryd wasn't there with them. "Where is Moordryd?!" He demanded. As the Street Crew shrugged, Moordryd was spying on them from outside. He knew that he had to help his friends by spying on his own father.
Wasn't that exciting? Artha and Beau have entered the All City Street Races and are already beginning to awaken their powers. Unfortunately, Word's Street Crew made another attempt to capture them. But luckily, Artha and Beau have been given the ancient Golden Draconium Armor. And with this new armor, they successfully drove off the Street Crew.
