Chapter 6: The Shadow Booster
(Intro)
Dragon City Museum, home to some of the biggest ancient archeological finds in history. "You catch the race last week?" One of the security guards asked. "Yeah. That Artha Penn kid's got some wicked moves." The second guard said. "You know, I heard that Kitt Raada Wonn personally trained him." The first guard said. The second guard kept looking at the ancient relic they were guarding. "So, why's this relic so special?" He asked. "Didn't you know? They say this relic is one of 5 special relics that belonged to an ancient tribe of witches." The first guard said. "Witches?" The second guard asked. "Yes. Legend has it that they were some of the most powerful witches in all of our world. Legend also says that if the witches possess all 5 of these relics, they could open a door to unleash an ancient dark power." The first guard explained.
Suddenly, the power went dead. "What happened?" The second guard asked. "I don't know. Must've been a power outage." The first guard said. Just then, a purple ball dropped and rolled towards them. As it reached their feet, it released a gas. "What is that?" The second guard asked in surprise. The first guard sniffed the gas and suddenly fell asleep. The second guard was shocked by this until he sniffed the gas and fell asleep too. Just then, a mysterious female Booster in shadowy purple armor entered the museum wing and walked up to the relic. "At long last, the first relic is mine." She said. She took the relic and ran out of the museum. She climbed onto a black Dragon and took off into the night.
The next morning, the Penn siblings were out dancing as Connor played the flute. Kitt watched with the Dragons as the siblings danced. Especially Artha. "They really dance divinely." She said. The Dragons growled in agreement. Just then, Parmon came rushing over. "Guys! We got bad news!" He called. "What's going on, Parm?" Artha asked as he and his siblings stopped dancing. "The Dragon City Museum was just robbed last night." Parmon said. "Robbed?!" Jessica asked in surprise. "By who?" Charlie asked. "I heard that it was by a Booster." Parmon said. Everyone was surprised by that. "Another Booster?" Lance asked. "But who is it? Me and Artha were here the whole time." Derek said. "And I was at home." Kitt said. "What do you think, Artha?" Kurt asked. "I think we need to tell Mortis about this. If there is another Booster out there, she might know something." Artha said.
Later, the team entered the ancient temple and sought Mortis. "Artha, what brings you and your team here on this fine morning?" Mortis asked as she appeared before them. "We were wondering if you know anything about other Boosters. Since Kitt and Derek are the Fire and Magma Boosters." Artha said. "Ah, yes. You see, the original Dragon Booster had a team. Multiple Boosters with several different powers and abilities. Fire, Water, Earth, Magma, Air, Ice, Electric, Mana, Light, Illusion, Smoke, Energy, Power, Lunar, Starlight, Solar and Weather. Together, they helped the Dragon Booster end the original Human-Dragon war. Their only adversary was a rogue Booster who commanded the power of Shadow." Mortis explained. "Did you hear about that robbery in the museum?" Kitt asked. "Yes. And I believe that the mysterious Booster who robbed it might be a new Shadow Booster." Mortis said.
"Hmm. Parm, what exactly did the Booster steal from the museum?" Artha asked. "It was some kind of relic. Uh, this one." Parmon said, pulling up a picture of the relic that was stolen. Mortis gasped at the sight of the relic. "What is it, Mortis?" Erika asked. "I know that relic. It's a relic related to evil." Mortis said. "What kind of evil?" Kitt asked. "An evil that's far worse than Word Paynn's." Mortis said. Isla, Jessica, Kurt and Lance gulped at that. "This relic is just a piece. 4 other pieces remain. But be warned. If all 5 pieces gather together…they'll open a gateway that leads to a forbidden world where dark powers can be granted." Mortis warned. "Then we have to find the Shadow Booster before he or she finds the other 4 relics, wherever they are. Is there a way we can find the Shadow Booster?" Artha asked. "There is. You can track the Shadow Booster with your powers." Mortis said. "My powers?" Artha asked. "Yes. The Boosters can track each other through their powers." Mortis said. "Then let's give it a try." Artha said. He sat down, crossed his legs, closed his eyes and concentrated as he started to glow gold. The others watched him, hoping he could find their Booster. Artha opened his eyes as the glow died down. "I know where the Shadow Booster is." He said.
Later, Artha led the team into an empty area. "The Shadow Booster is here." He said. The others looked around the emptiness of the area. "But there's literally nothing here." Isla said. "That's what you think." A voice said. The team turned and saw the Shadow Booster reveal herself. "I sensed your Booster powers from a mile away." She said. "Hand over the relic, Shadow Booster, whoever you are." Artha said. "I will do no such thing. My mistress needs the relic to open the door to the forbidden world to gain dark power." The Shadow Booster said. "Well, I can't let that happen." Artha said, taking the star from his amulet "Release the DRAGON!" He shouted as he placed the star in his arm band, transforming into the Dragon Booster. "So, the rumors are true. The Dragon Booster has dared to return." The Shadow Booster said. "And he's about to kick your shadowy butt, Shadow Booster." Lance said.
Artha drew his staff and charged towards the Shadow Booster. But the Shadow Booster summoned a ball of shadow in her left hand and fired it, hitting Artha. "Artha!" Kitt cried. Artha groaned as he recovered. "You are so inexperienced, Dragon Booster. Your predecessor was a force to be reckoned with…according to the legend." The Shadow Booster said. Kitt glared at the Shadow Booster with anger. She brought out the Furox and placed it in her own arm band. "Release the FIRE DRAGON!" She shouted as she transformed into the Fire Booster. "Ah, the Fire Booster. Let's hope you put up a better fight." The Shadow Booster said. Kitt fired her Dragon Arm Cannons, surrounding the Shadow Booster with a Ring of Fire. "A Fire Ring? Pretty clever. But alas, useless against me." The Shadow Booster said. She punched the ground and created a wave of shadows, dousing the ring and blasting Kitt down. "Just like your friend. A bitter disappointment." The Shadow Booster said. "Hey! No one talks about my teammates like that!" Derek exclaimed. He took out his own duplicate of the Furox and placed his own arm band. "Release the VOLCANO DRAGON!" He shouted as he transformed into the Magma Booster. "The Magma Booster. Let's see if you can bear any better." The Shadow Booster said. Derek stomped his right foot on the ground and created a giant magma wave, directing it towards the Shadow Booster. But the Shadow Booster created a shadow energy shield, blocking the magma wave. "Sorry, but your wave's been cancelled." She said. She turned the shield into a pulse blast, hitting Derek and knocking him down.
Artha was horrified as he saw Kitt and Derek get hurt. "Those 2 lack the proper skills. They are unworthy to call themselves Boosters." The Shadow Booster said mockingly. Artha got really angry from hearing that and started to glow gold rapidly. He gave a loud, angry shout and suddenly, a spirit was unleashed from his body. A golden fiery dragon-phoenix. "The Great Dragon Phoenix!" Connor exclaimed in surprise. The others were shocked. The Shadow Booster was caught off guard by this. Artha motioned his hands and the Great Dragon Phoenix fired a powerful golden energy beam from its mouth. The Shadow Booster tried to block it with her shadow energy shield, but the beam blew through it and gave her a painful impact, knocking her out. The others were shocked as the Great Dragon Phoenix disappeared back into Artha's body. Suddenly, before anyone could make a move, a group of women in black suits and purple masks appeared before the team. "We'll be taking possession of our relic and our Booster, thank you." One of the women said. They helped the Shadow Booster to her feet, picked up the relic and threw a smoke bomb. As it exploded, the team were blinded by the veil of smoke. When it cleared up, the women and the Shadow Booster were gone.
Later, as the team returned to the temple, Mortis appeared and greeted the them. "What happened out there?" She asked. "I tracked the Shadow Booster to an empty area and we fought her. But she escaped…with help." Artha said. "What kind of help?" Mortis asked. "They appeared to be a group of women wearing black suits and purple masks." Parmon said. That made Mortis gasp in horror. "The Gloomix Clan." She said in worry. Connor was shocked while the others were confused. "Be warned, all of you, the Gloomix Clan is one of the most dangerous threats to our world. Their leader is a psychopath. She wants the relics to open the door to the forbidden world to gain dark power. And that makes her a more dangerous threat than Word Paynn. You must be careful if you ever cross paths with them again." Mortis explained. The team nodded in understanding.
Meanwhile, in an unknown area, the women brought the Shadow Booster to a chamber and placed her into a pod. "Once the Shadow Booster is healed, she'll be able to continue our quest. Speaking of which, has she completed her mission?" The leader asked. The woman in front presented the relic to her leader. She immediately took it without even a thank you. "At last. Once we gather the remaining 4, we shall open the door to the forbidden world and gather the dark powers we'll need to take this world and fulfill the glory for our master. And nothing, not even the Dragon Booster, can stop us." The leader said.
Wow! Wasn't that something?! A mysterious Shadow Booster stole an ancient relic from the museum. Artha and his team track her down and attempt to reclaim the relic, but the Shadow Booster proved to be a match against 3 Boosters. But then Artha unleashed the power of the Great Dragon Phoenix and managed to injure her. But before he could retrieve the relic, a group of witches known as the Gloomix Clan make off with the relic and the Shadow Booster. Will Artha's team ever find out more about the Gloomix Clan's intentions? Who is this master the clan's leader spoke of? Leave a review if you'd like.
