It had been 5 years since he triumphed over Voldemort and the following days were immensely hectic and boring to him. The Ministry wanted to parade him around. The Daily Prophet was singing his praises as if they hadn't declared him a mentally unstable attention-seeker just 2 years ago. His friends had families to go back to, so they didn't have much time for him. Not that he blamed them for it. In the past 5 years, he had learned many things from Black Library and the Potter family Grimores. He was not surprised to see the amount of dark rituals he could find in Black Library.
The thing that surprised him most was the deathly Hallows. The three gifts of death, which had never been united by any wizard before him, refused to leave him. He had broken the Elder wand and lost the resurrection stone in the Forbidden Forest, but a day after he had defeated Voldemort, he had found them both on the table near the bed, in the shell cottage. Bill and Fleur were kind enough to give him a place to stay away from the chaos of the wizarding world.
He had done deep research on them and he finally found out the answer. The real reason no one had been able to master the Elder wand before him, was because it was death's gift to Antoniach Peverell's bloodline. Thus, only wizards who had Antoniach's blood in their legacy would be able to master it. To his surprise, he found out that his mother was a squib from Evangeline line, who had later changed their names to Evans. The Evangaline was the line started by the grandson of Evangeline Slytherin, the firstborn of Salzar and Antoniach Peverell, who had given up both infamous names to escape being hunted by enemies.
The Gaunts, which were the second line from Salzar's son, put a curse on Evangelines so that they would lose the gift of 'parseltongue' so that their bloodline wouldn't get stolen. Salzar had put a conditional jinx over the curse, that if the Head of Gaunts ever tried to fatally harm a magical child of Evangeline, the gift of 'Parseltongue' would be awakened in the blood of Evangelines.
He also found out that the reason Antoniach had asked for the Elder Wand from death, was because he was a battle wizard.
Cadmus Peverell Junior, the son of Cadmus Peverell Senior, and the original owner of the Resurrection stone knew how dangerous the stone could be, so he embedded it in the Peverell family ring and never informed his descendants about it. Thus, even after having Cadmus' blood in their veins, the Gaunts where Cadmus' line dissolved, had their family ring's magicks absorbed by the Peverell family ring which became the new Gaunt family ring, which was passed down to their descendants, no one used the second gift of death. Until Dumbledore that is. Unfortunately, for those who want to see their passed away loved ones, the curse on the ring activates and takes the life of the user. Harry had been ready to sacrifice himself before using it, thus he escaped the curse.
Other than being able to call upon the dead, the resurrection stone was a very powerful ward stone, which could create wards so strong that they could only be bypassed by using the 3rd Hallow of death- the invisibility cloak.
Cadmus Peverall, who had been a warder, had asked death to enchant the stone with those abilities. Cadmus Peverell, who was a necromancer, was the head of the family despite Antoniach being older. It was because both Antoniach and Ignotus had more dangerous jobs than Cadmus and he was closer to family magicks than the other two brothers.
Harry had the blood of Cadmus, through his Grandmother, whose mother was from a family whose originator had run away from Gaunts to America and later founded the Ilvermory School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Harry lost his left eye in one of the rouge Death Eater attacks, where he was hit with a permanent blindness curse. He had been able to deflect the curse but a part of it reflected and hit him on his left eye. He didn't want a magical eye like Moody had, so he enchanted the resurrection stone to look like his eye and put it into his left eye socket. For some reason, his eyesight had been returned but in an unorthodox manner. He was able to see the magical aura but unlike other owners of mage sight, he had black, white and grey vision. He could only differentiate things based on the brightness of their aura. The things that didn't have aura, were dark coloured with grey outlines. He later adjusted to his new sight and even dubbed it as 'Death's sight'.
The Invisibility Cloak was the most versatile of the 3 gifts of death. It could become invisible even to magical sights and artificial magical eyes and bypass the wards when used by someone who had the blood of Ignotus Peverell in his legacy.
Ignotus asked for the cloak because he was an assassin, and a cloak with such abilities was very useful to him.
The Cloak was passed to Potters through, Lolanthe Potter nee Peverell, enabling Harry to use the cloak at it's full potential. Unfortunately, Harry never knew the true potential of the cloak before the defeat of Voldemort as it would have been very useful.
The cloak could camouflage into any type of clothing, so Harry always had it on him. He could also telepathically instruct the cloak to drape over others to make them invisible. Additionally, the cloak was semi-sentient thus it could kill anyone by suffocating anyone who would try to use it to harm it's master. In the case of the assailant sharing the same blood as the master, the cloak incapacitated them for the master to decide whatever to do to them.
If a wizard masters all the Hallows combined, he would be nearly undefeatable as in the case of Harry. The superior defence from Ressurection stone, the ability of Invisibility Cloak to bypass any defences invisibly and the immense firepower of Elder Wand gave mass advantage even over armies.

Currently, Harry was standing in front of the veil of Death, under his invisibility cloak. He heard his name being called in the voice of Sirius, Remus, Tonks and his parents. The left eye in his socket almost activated listening to his wishes but he stopped it. He knew it wasn't comfortable for spirits to be back in the realm of living. So he occluded his mind and ignored the whisperings.
"If only I could see them living and happy again!" He sighed and prepared to leave when he heard a feminine whisper ''As you wish, love!''.
He suddenly found himself falling through the veil with numerous pictures and scenes despite his strong Occulmency barriers. He understood that the voice that belonged to death was about to make it possible for him to see his Godfather, Parents and others living and happy again. Unfortunately, he didn't get the message about leaving for an alternate reality a bit too late. He sighed feeling guilty of leaving his godson behind. At least he had made sure to leave everything he owned, to Teddy.
