Note: I just basically fixed and reworded some stuff in this chapter, it's still short. I'm not going to drop this story like I thought I would, I've got interested in it again and it needs an update, so I am working on the next chapter, if anyone is interested.

Summary: Jonouchi asks Anzu to be his fake girlfriend so that he can get a girl that he likes to notice him. Will it work? Or will Jonouchi fall for Anzu?

Prologue
The Request

To fall in love - what does that mean? Do you feel that happy and warm feeling? Do you have butterflies? Does your heartbeat thump so fast that your cheeks heat up? That was the kind of feeling that I had for someone… his name? Atem - but we sometimes called him Yami or before that, we had called him other Yugi (because he looked so much like Yugi.) He is the spirit of a 3,000-year-old Pharaoh who lives in the Millennium Item called the Millennium Puzzle. I fell in love with him after he had saved my life, at the time though - I didn't know who it really was because I was blindfolded at the time, and all that I could hear was his deep rich voice. I was in love with the person that voice, he had after all saved my life. Then I found out who he really is and I fell even harder in love with him, at least that is what I thought… How did I end up having weird feelings for his best friend?

That is what I really would like to know. Maybe this whole mess started when I agreed to help Jonouchi get the attention of the girl that he liked.

"Please Anzu!" Jonouchi pleaded, with puppy dog eyes, making him look cute.

"No way, Jonouchi! I'm not doing it!" Anzu Mazaki glared at the blonde teenager. Why was he… saying such a thing - ugh!

"C'mon Anzu! I really like this girl, I need ya to do this for me!" begged Katsuya Jonouchi - he was her friend, but she was sure that he was going to be an ex-friend very quick… Anzu closed her eyes in anger and crossed her arms over her chest, her eye twitching. "I am not going to pretend to be your girlfriend!" she said in an irritated voice. What was he thinking? She would do no such thing! Jonouchi was out of his mind! Getting the attention of a girl that you liked did not involve her (Anzu) pretending to be his girlfriend! The girl that he liked (which Anzu wondered why he even liked her…) hardly knew that he existed, and she was a bit of an airhead… okay - maybe she was a really big airhead, but who took notice anyway? And a ditz and among other things… did Anzu mention that she was on the cheerleading squad? How that came to be, she wasn't sure… Anzu was on it as well at one time, but after a few months she quit - she didn't like it and she got too many perverted glances… then there was the fact that the girl that he liked - would ignore him even more if Anzu said that she was his girlfriend!

"Why not!"

Anzu uncrossed her arms and put her hands on her hips. His attitude was annoying her. "Really Jonouchi! If you really like this girl, me pretending to be your girlfriend will not work!" she said, clearly annoyed with him.

"C'mon Anzu! Do it for me!" He gave her the puppy dog eyes again.

"No! Nothing you do will change my mind!" she said, still determined to stay in her decision of saying no, to him. Jonouchi frowned at her words and was silent for a little while - then an idea popped into his head. "Do it… for a friend?" he asked softly with a sparkle in his brown eyes. Her eye twitched his words and at the way, he was looking at her. 'Damn, he's using the friendship stuff on me." She hated it when he did that. She let out a frustrated sigh. She was sooo going to hate herself after this. "Fine! I'll do it." Jonouchi grinned his goofy grin and hugged her and lifted her up from the ground into his arm because he was so happy, and Anzu blushed. This idiot! But she guessed she couldn't blame him, he was happy… "Thank you so much Anzu!" he said in a cheerful tone of voice.

"You can let go of me now…"

"Oh! Right!" Jonouchi blushed a tiny bit but set her down on her feet. But he was still close to her.

"But…" began Anzu and Jonouchi blinked at her. "But?" he asked. Not sure where she was going with this. She then poked him in the chest with her finger. There will be no kissing, understand!" she said in a serious tone of voice. And he nodded his head at her. "Of course!"

She let out another sigh. What in the world did she get herself into?
