Robin of the Jungle
Nico Robin laid curled up over the floor of the boat as it was rocked by the currents of the ocean. Having been sent adrift for some time after having escaped the Marines once more from a village she had thought she could begin again. Only for the people to once more in form the World Government. Ever since the Marines had Destroyed her home Island of Ohara, it would seem the whole world was against her.
There was no place left for her anywhere.
The Little girl, no older then eight years old with raven black hair, wearing a small brown dress, sobbed uncontrollably. Her tears dripping down her face. She lifted her gaze from her crossed arms, gazing up at the night sky above. Everything she had ever know was now gone. Her home. Her mother. Saul.
Gone...
Raven sat up in the boat, her knees curled up against her her chest, sighing in contempt. Having remembered the last words they had told her.
"Live, Robin!"
"I Guarantee, you will find friends that won't ever leave you!"
Robin frowned, narrowing her head. She wanted to keep her word to them. To live her life. To find the friends that would never leave her. But how could she? Where else could she go to find where she belonged?
"What am I going to do?" Robin said to herself.
Robin berried her face back into her arms, feeling so lost and alone. When suddenly, she felt an sudden impact front underneath the boat which caused her to gasp. The boat itself felt as though it had stopped. Gone were the waves that had been rocking her along the sea. She glanced back where she saw that the boat had washed upon a beach of what appeared to be a deserted island.
Robin stood up in the boat, where she scanned the dense thick jungle which covered the island.
"Where am I?" she asked herself.
The island itself appeared to be quite large itself. Though there appeared to no sign of any villages or towns anywhere. Only dark dense jungle all the way to the hills and mountains. Nothing more. Robin stared nervously. When suddenly she noticed there what looked to be a small light from off in the distance. Robin gasped in anticipation and relief at the possibility that the island was not deserted.
Leaping out from the boat, the little girl made her way into Jungle undergrowth.
Robin made her way through the thick jungle underbrush. Brushing through the leaves and palms, while also leaping over several stepping stones that made a small bridge across a small stream. Upon coming up on the other side of the river, Robin paused at the sounds of what appeared to rustling in the foliage. All the while, she called out for anyone who was there.
"Hello?" She said.
"Is there anyone there?!"
She scanned the jungle undergrowth. But she saw nothing as she heard another sound from off in the distance. She gave a nervousness moan before she turned and continued on through the jungle undergrowth.
"Hello...?" She continued to call out.
It was a short time before she came out into a small clearing, where she then paused gazing ahead through the jungle. She could hardly see the light from before.
She squinted her eyes, nervously. She couldn't tell how far she was from where she had seen the light. Was she even still going in the right direction.
Though as she she wondered what to do, there was a sudden growling sound coming from the jungle. Robin turned back to the lush foliage. curiously. She then heard it again. Robin turned to face the jungle, nervously.
"Hello?" she said, her body trembling in fear.
Suddenly, a large lion leaped out from the foliage, landing before the girl. Robin gasped, falling to the ground. She then leaned off the ground, looking forward at the lion, who cocked it's head to her. It then turned to her, slowly slinking it's way toward her, growling. Robin gasped as she slid back from the lion. Standing back up as her back came up against the tree.
"No... please...!" Robin said, raising her hands to the lion.
The Lion paused for a moment, growling. Licking it's chomps which made the little girl tremble in fear. as it readied to pounce upon her. Upon leaping into the air with a loud roar, Robin braced herself as she awaited for the inevitable.
When suddenly, something swung down from the side, scooping the girl up into it's arm. Out of the way of the lion which hit up against the lion, who slid down the tree, unconscious.
Robin opened her eyes and found that she was being carried through the trees. Upon glancing up, she saw that she was being carried away by what appeared to be a Gorilla, who swung them through the tree. The ape swung them up to a nearby tree, where she placed the girl down over the branch.
Robin turned back to the ape, who smiled down to her. While she was surpassed, the ape had indeed saved her from the lion.
"Umm... thank you... for saving me." Robin said though doubting teh ape would understand her.
The ape nodded his head to her.
"Of course. Are you Okay, little girl?" The ape said.
Robin suddenly felt the floor be pulled out front underfoot. Having heard the ape just speak to her.
"You can talk?!" She said.
The Ape nodded his head.
"Yes, Yes, I can talk. I'm sure it's a shock to hear." The ape said in an English accent.
"Wh-who are you?" Robin asked, curiously.
"Oh, yes, where are my manners?" You can just call me Ape." The Ape insisted to her.
Robin chuckled a bit at the Ape
"It's nice to meet you. My name is Robin." Robin said, smiling.
"This is certainly the first time I've seen a human here. What are you doing here on the island?" Ape asked, curiously.
"You must be far from home."
Robin frowned, narrowing her head.
"I don't have a home." Robin insisted, shaking her head to him.
The little girl appearing sad and alone was a clear indication to Ape. He glanced back, rubbing the back of his neck. She must be all alone out there with no family or any place to call home. He surely couldn't just leave her here all alone. And being that he was the one who found her, she was now his responsibility.
Ape turned back to the girl.
"Well, how would like a place to stay?" Ape asked, curiously.
Ape swung up onto the porch of what looked to a makeshift shelter high in the trees, carrying Robin in his arms. He then placed Robin down next to her as she looked up at the tree house. The tree house appeared to be made of a large ship of some kind and there looked to be light inside. What must have been the light she had seen from the Beach.
"This is your home?" Robin asked, curiously.
Ape nodded his head.
"That's right. I'm not as simple as the other Gorilla to sleep in the bushes." Ape insisted to her.
Ape brought Robin inside the treehouse, where she found it looked like the inside of the homes back in Ohara. Though with a very jungle-like feel to it. Though what caught her eye was a large shelf that was filled with books. Ape brought her to a room in the back, where there was a large bed of leaves and animal skins.
"You can sleep in here the night." Ape said, looking down to her.
Robin glanced up to him, smiling.
"Thank you." Robin said before walking into the room.
She then came up and laid down over the bed. From the doorway, Ape watched, smiling. He came up to the side of the bed, where he draped the covers over her as she drift off to sleep.
